The much-anticipated film, Maharagni: Queen of Queens, is steadily progressing with the completion of crucial action sequences featuring lead actresses Kajol and Samyuktha. The film marks a significant milestone for both actresses, with Kajol showcasing a never-seen-before action avatar and Samyuktha making her Bollywood debut.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Samyuktha expressed her excitement about the recently wrapped-up shooting schedules. "We've been filming in different parts, and the portions featuring Kajol ma'am's intense action sequences have been completed," she revealed. "Additionally, my introduction scene and some thrilling car chase sequences are also in the can. It was an absolute blast! The action director from abroad was phenomenal, and the entire planning was top-notch." Samyuktha Speaks On Working With Kajol, Naseeruddin Shah As the conversation progressed further, Samyuktha shared her experience of working alongside seasoned actors Kajol and Naseeruddin Shah. While admitting to initial nervousness, she praised their supportive nature, which helped her ease into the role.

"I felt like I was interacting with my own grandfather while working with Naseeruddin sir," Samyuktha said with a laugh. "He was so friendly and engaging that I could be myself. Kajol ma'am was incredibly supportive, guiding me through my close-up shots. Their experience and encouragement helped me overcome my anxiety about getting the Hindi dialect right." Samyukta Reveals Details of Kajol’s Maharagni  Later, Samyuktha briefly discussed the film's groundbreaking approach, stating, "Our director, Charan Tej Uppalapati, and I had a conversation about showcasing two women in powerful action roles. We wanted to challenge the notion that action is solely for male characters. Maharagni is a commercial film packed with songs, fights, and most importantly, action performed by us."

The high-budget pan-Indian film is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. With a cast including Jisshu U Sengupta, Chhaya Kadam, and Aditya Seal, Maharagni has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Following the success of the beloved character of Guddu Pandit, Ali Fazal is set to join the cast of Rakht Brahmand as the lead opposite Samantha Prabhu. The ensemble cast includes Aditya Roy Kapoor and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles.

The period drama/fantasy series Rakht Brahmand is helmed by the visionary duo Raj and DK, while Rahi Anil Barve of Tumbbad fame will direct the series. This will be the next major project for Ali following the anticipation of the release of Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, Lahore 1947 produced by Aamir Khan, and Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam.

A source revealed, “The project is a marvelous vision of Raj & DK, it’s definitely a step forward in its genre of fantasy drama. The cast has finally all been locked and the shoot is set to start next week. Ali will be shooting for the series through August while also completing small schedules of his other projects. The show came to him and the vision of the show was enough to get Ali excited to be part of the series. It’s a really interesting part, something he has never done before both from character perspective and also genre-wise”.

The 6 part limited series is set to commence shoot in Mumbai, starting next week.

While it was attended by several renowned personalities from the film industry like Rakesh Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Fardeen Khan, and young actors such as Kartik Aaryan, many musicians and singers like Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam, who have had a long-standing association with the music label also made their presence felt.

Kiran Rao returned to direct 14 years after her debut, Dhobi Ghat (2010). Her most recent directorial, Laapataa Ladies, was well-received by the public, but only after it was launched on Netflix India. Laapataa Ladies, When it was first released in theaters, it received few takes. In an interview with Faye D'Souza, Kiran acknowledged that she thinks Laapataa Ladies' box office performance a failure.

Kiran said, “In some ways, both these films Dhobi Ghat and Laapataa Ladies, haven't done great at the box office. Dhobi Ghat, in fact, did some big business for its time. Ten-15 years later, Laapataa Ladies, didn't do that much more than Dhobi Ghat. So, in some ways, I do feel that sense of failure. By box office metrics, we weren't a success. In the conventional sense, we didn't do hundreds of crores, or even ₹30, 40, 50 crore.

She further stated, “Failure is the way to put it. I do feel responsible that the film didn't do that well at the box office. I felt it a lot during Dhobi Ghat because we didn't have any alternate mediums, we didn't have OTT. So it didn't get a lot of audience. I do feel that film was different for its time, and very unusual for a theatrical release back then. But other than that, not really. I haven't felt a deep sense of having failed at something.”

Kiran added, “I think failure in the sense that I felt that everyday failure. In 10 years, I've been working relentlessly. I've had really busy days continuously. After my first film, I thought my second film would come soon. But that soon just didn't come. It got me on a daily basis. The empty page, the inability to put that full stop and say ‘the end.' It was something I really struggled with in these 10 years. I'm sure most creative people have to face that sense of failure a lot when they don't achieve something soon enough or they don't achieve it at all," added Kiran.”

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for his globally acclaimed titles such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Ugly and Kennedy, is ready with his next production venture Little Thomas. The film is headlined by two of India's finest actors, Gulshan Devaiah and Rasika Duggal, joined by child artist Hridansh Parekh in the charming comedy drama.

"Yes, it’s been a while. Maybe I was waiting for a good children’s film script to come my way," Kashyap says on why he took 17 years to return to this space after his animated directorial Return of Hanuman (2007). "It’s a difficult genre actually, to make an authentic children’s film, so one has to ensure that it’s a good script before making it," the filmmaker adds.

Little Thomas is set to have its world premiere at the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Besides Kashyap, the film is backed by Ranjan Singh, Rajnikant Oza, Charu Oza, Anushka Shah and Kabir Ahuja.

In Little Thomas, Kashyap was impressed by the vision of the National Award winning director Kaushal Oza, who makes his feature directorial debut with the film that follows the tragi-comic efforts of a seven-year-old boy to bring his parents together and have a little brother.

Kashyap says, "I had seen Kaushal’s short 'The Miniaturist of Junagadh' and liked it. Then I read the Little Thomas script and understood his vision for it. He wanted to make a genuine children’s film while creating a world from a kid’s perspective. The honesty of his approach has helped make the film."

Set in the Goa of the 90s, the film follows Thomas, the only child of his parents, who desperately wants a little brother. "One day, he is told that to get a baby brother his parents will have to kiss. Since his quarrelling parents won't kiss any longer, Little Thomas takes it upon himself to make them do the yucky act!" the film's synopsis reads.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah, who made his debut in Anurag Kashyap's That Girl in Yellow Boots (year) and went on to collaborate with him on projects like Shaitan (2011) and Hunterrr (2015), describes Little Thomas as a film that "puts a smile on my face."

"It’s a sweet, cute film and I am thrilled it’s going to be showing at IFFM. The most special thing about Little Thomas is its story and the beautiful innocence in its world. Rasika is a wonderful actor, who I’ve admired for a while now. She’s very professional and dedicated to the craft. I was lucky I got to work with her," Gulshan says.

Calling Little Thomas "a beautiful and lyrical story" about the simple life of a Goan family, actor Rasika Duggal says, "I was drawn to the script of Little Thomas because I felt it was a beautiful and simple story yet wasn't simplistic. Technology has given us so much to play within filmmaking that sometimes, I feel the soul of a film gets drowned in the razzmatazz. Little Thomas was not doing any of that. It was committing to its narrative without any unnecessary frills. Also, the script had an interesting sense of humour, which I enjoyed very much. I am delighted that the film is premiering at IFFM and it will first be watched by the kind of audience that a festival like IFFM always attracts - a discerning audience with an ample appetite for fun. I am looking forward to how they will respond to our film."

Director Kaushal Oza, an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India says the team auditioned over 700 kids to find Thomas and the gang.

The filmmaker adds, "Everyone has been a seven-year-old once in their lives. When we grow up we miss the innocence of the times we were kids. I wanted to capture the innocence and imagination that we had then and yearned for now. Everyone who read the script loved it, but producing a film like this is a challenge. When this team of producers read the script - they laughed, they cried - they backed it to the hilt. Also casting the kids was the biggest challenge."

Little Thomas is produced by Luminoso Pictures, Civic Studios, Flip Films and Good Bad Films.

Producer Ranjan Singh (Flip Films) recalls reading the script of Little Thomas in 2018, which is also when he decided to produce the film. "It seemed like an authentic children’s film which I have missed over so many years. Also, I had co-produced Kaushal’s short, The Miniaturist of Junagadh, and showed it to Anurag and other producers and it really helped when I took Little Thomas’ script to them."

Anushka Shah, producer, Civic Studios, dubs Little Thomas as a "refreshingly delightful story". She says, "Thomas’ boundless imagination, curiosity and resilience could positively shape children’s mindsets in formative years - an important reason for Civic Studios to back this film. We’re sure Little Thomas will be a heart-warming family watch for children and adults."

Also starring Hridyansh Gokani, Ninad Pandith and Mahabanoo Mody- Kotwal, Little Thomas will have its festival run before its theatrical release in the country.

Regretting the decision

Reflecting on her experience, Kapila noted that her episode was the first to be shot, leading to learnings and adjustments in subsequent episodes. She highlighted the unfair pressure she faced, where refusing to let the episode air would have led to accusations of cowardice and further trolling. Over the past six months, Kapila shared that she was repeatedly told that she deserved the jokes because she is a divorced woman, a notion she found deeply troubling.

Choosing peace over controversy

Kapila emphasized that her decision to let the episode air was driven by a desire for peace rather than engaging in endless discourse that could further vilify her. She stressed the importance of respecting personal boundaries and acknowledged the negative reactions from many women in the live audience. Kapila agreed with their disapproval, reinforcing her stance against some of the content that was aired.

A learning experience

In conclusion, Kapila vowed not to participate in another roast without knowing what to expect. She mentioned that her previous two roast experiences were positive, contrasting sharply with this latest incident. Kapila's statement highlighted the need for sensitivity and respect in comedy, particularly when it comes to personal and sensitive topics. "I take pride in the fact that I didn’t stage a walkout and after what was thrown at me, I found the gumption to still perform," she said, reiterating her commitment to maintaining her dignity and boundaries.

Amitabh Bachchan responds humbly to Nag Ashwin’s comments on how people are thrilled to see Big B in the new avatar in the film

Readers would be aware that Amitabh Bachchan features in a never-seen-before avatar of the immortal Ashwattama in the film. The megastar has been winning a lot of praises and opening up about was the film’s director Nag Ashwin, who said, “I know you don’t like this, but this is one of the few chances we have to thank you for your patience. The whole country, whoever I speak to, but they say it’s such a pleasure to see you in that avatar. I did a bunch of interviews, and everybody just said, ‘Thank you for giving us this Amitabh Bachchan’.”

Responding to these lovely words, Amitabh shared, “I just feel that the compliment isn’t to me, it’s to the concept and the character. It speaks volumes about the film. It’s not a compliment about a certain star, and they liked their performance, and so on and so forth… When they compliment a Prabhas or a Deepika, they’re actually complimenting the concept of the director, Nagi, who was able to conceive and put together this story.”

After Anurag Kashyap set news reports abuzz with his comments as he called out the ‘entourage culture’, makeup artist Shaan Muttathil, who has been working as a hair stylist for Jacqueline Fernandez for years, have hit back at the filmmaker. The makeup artist, who have also styled Radhika Merchant in the past, called out the filmmaker by addressing the de-glam avatars of actors in his films by stating that his actresses wear Rs. 250 worth cotton sarees in his films.

During the Phitte Muh podcast, Shaan slammed Anurag Kashyap by stating that he is jealous of the kind of money makeup artists and other team members of the entourage earn. “What Anurag sir is saying is his world, his bubble. But there's another world too. Will this Anurag sir, after so many hits, go and do a movie for what a newcomer director will do? No. Of course, there’s a lot of jealousy, and I completely understand. Because we do get paid more than managers, than first ADs, and people in the camera department,” he said.

But not everybody gets paid Rs. 1 lakh or Rs. 2 lakh. There are only around 10 of us. First of all, I wouldn’t get a call from him. In his films, he will have to call me to get the dark circles and to make the hair look frizzy. That’s what his heroines look like.”

The filmmaker touched upon the subject of budget wherein he made shocking revelations about the exorbitant prices charged by an actor’s team which often results in the film going over-budget. He had opened up about it in an interview with Janice Sequeira wherein he said, “Somebody has a chef who charges ₹2 lakh per day to make this strange healthy food. Jo dekh ke lagta tha ye khana hai? Yeh to bird feed hai. Itna chhota sa aata tha (After seeing it, it doesn’t even look like food. It looks so less, like a bird feed)”.

After months of rumours regarding model-turned-actor Natasa Stankovic's split with cricketer Hardik Pandya, Natasa confirmed the news with a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday. They stated that it was a "tough decision" for both of them and that they will continue to co-parent their three-year-old son, Agastya.

The couple on their respective Instagram handles shared a note that read, “After 4 years of being together, Natasa and I have decided to mutually part ways. We tried our best together and gave it our all, and we believe this in in the best interest for the both of us. This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family.”

Natasa's absence from IPL and World Cup matches prompted suspicions regarding her breakup. Hardik Pandya's decision to forgo the Sri Lanka series fueled split speculations.

Natasa Stankovic, a former Bigg Boss contestant and dancer, married cricketer Hardik Pandya on May 31, 2020. In February 2023, the pair reaffirmed their wedding vows using Hindu and Christian ceremonies.

However, suspicion about their split began in May of this year, when netizens observed that the model had deleted the surname 'Pandya' from her Instagram username. The much-awaited film Bad Newz has released today in cinemas and is off to a strong start. This has been possible due to a great response to the trailer and songs, an amusing subject and great casting. The moviegoers who’ll venture out to watch the comic caper will expect some great entertainment from its lead cast – Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk. However, they’ll be surprised to know that two more gorgeous actresses also feature in this film.

Cameos or supporting roles by popular actors usually make a film more exciting. Karan Johar, one of the producers of Bad Newz, has been doing this since his directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). It starred Salman Khan who all of a sudden entered the narrative in the second half of the Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol-Rani Mukerji starrer and surprised the audiences as they had no idea about his presence.

In today’s times, however, it is difficult to hide such special appearances as news often gets leaked to the press. But Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma’s presence in Bad Newz was a well-kept secret and nobody, outside of the film unit, got a hint about it.

Another fun, quirky appearance in the film is that of Gajraj Rao. He hasn’t acted in the film; he plays a dead person and his photo can be seen hanging on the wall. Funnily, ‘Fatherly appearance Gajraj Rao’ is mentioned at the very beginning of the end credits.

Cricketer KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Suneil Shetty have purchased an apartment in Pali Hill area in Bandra, Mumbai, for ₹20 crore, according to property registration papers accessed by IndexTap.com.

According to the paperwork, the property measures 3,350 square feet and is located on the second level of the ground-plus-18 floors of the Sandhu Palace building in the Pali Hill district of Bandra.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a partial occupation certificate for the ground-plus-18-floor structure, according to the records.

Rahul and Shetty paid stamp duty of ₹1.20 crore and registration cost of ₹30,000, as per papers.

As per trade sources, the much-loved anime film Ramayana: The Legend Of Prince Rama is all set to release in theatres this year.

A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, “Ramayana: The Legend Of Prince Rama has been remastered in 4K by the makers. They felt that releasing the movie in cinemas could be a good idea as it never arrived on the big screen. Moreover, they keep getting a lot of love and positive comments on their social media handles. In fact, after Adipurush disappointed moviegoers, many on social media drew parallels with Ramayana: The Legend Of Prince Rama and shared its clips. This proves that it has a strong recall value and a cult following.”

The source further added, “The makers have begun talks with distributors to understand how wide the release should be and other such strategies.” When asked when the film will be released, the source replied, “The date has not been locked. But they are looking at releasing it either in September or October. A clearer picture will emerge in a few weeks.”

Ramayana: The Legend Of Prince Rama was a co-production between India and Japan and was directed by Koichi Sasaki, Ram Mohan and Yugo Sako. Originally in English, it was later dubbed in Hindi. The latter version was played on the popular kids’ channel Cartoon Network in 2002 as a weekly series and got a huge viewership.

Interestingly, Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Rama in the classic TV show Ramayan, also voiced the character in Ramayana: The Legend Of Prince Rama. Amrish Puri meanwhile gave the voiceover for Ravana. Acclaimed music director Vanraj Bhatia composed its songs.

Another fascinating trivia was that an alternate English version was released in the USA. It was called Warrior Prince and The Prince of Light: The Legend Of Ramayana and Lord Rama was voiced by none other than Bryan Cranston of 'Breaking Bad' fame. Moreover, the narrator was James Earl Jones, who provided the voice for Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise.

Janhvi Kapoor stunned everyone at the Ulajh launch ceremony. The actor was asked if the 'secret' she posted on her Instagram stories had anything to do with her marriage to her rumoured boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya and she had responded hilariously.

Janhvi took to her Instagram stories on Monday morning and wrote, “Guys!! I have a secret. Can’t wait to share it with you!” The secret, as it turned out, was about the trailer launch of her upcoming film Ulajh. Aman Preet Singh, the brother of star Rakul Preet Singh, was detained in Hyderabad along with four others for allegedly using cocaine.

After raid on a flat in Hydershakotla in Narsingi, Telangana police said, "We seized 199 grams of cocaine worth ₹ 35 lakh, two passports, two bikes, 10 cell phones and other incriminating material from their possession."

The Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau, Cyberabad Police's Special Operations Team (SOT), and Rajendranagar Police detained five drug dealers, including two Nigerians, for distributing cocaine to high-profile clientele in the city.

Avinash Mohanty, the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, stated that Aman is one of those clients.

Five of the 13 users were detained, and all five had positive cocaine tests on their urine samples.

Aniketh, Prasad, Aman, Madhu, and Nikhil are the five individuals detained.

"It is an ardent request from Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police," the Telangana police said in a statement.

Rakul Preet Singh was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate last year for a narcotics trafficking and usage case. The investigating agency recorded the 33-year-old actor's statement in this case in both 2022 and 2021.

Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat are set to unleash their inner heist masters in the upcoming film Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter. The project, produced by Siddharth Anand and directed by Robbie Grewal, promises a thrilling tale of international intrigue and high-stakes robbery.

According to a report in Mid-day, the film's journey began in Mumbai, where an extensive shooting schedule captured the bustling energy of the city. This initial phase laid the groundwork for the complex heist at the center of the story. Report suggests that Khan and Ahlawat's characters will find themselves on opposite sides of the law, their rivalry fueling the narrative.

Following the Mumbai leg, the production team embarked on a European adventure, taking the story to the picturesque locales of Budapest, Hungary. Khan, Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta all joined forces for this international shoot. While Budapest served as the backdrop for some captivating song sequences featuring Khan and Dutta, it also witnessed the filming of thrilling chase sequences.

An inside source revealed, “The final leg began on May 18 as they filmed songs featuring Saif and Nikita against the picturesque locales of Budapest. Some action-packed chase sequences were also canned in the 10-day stint. Robbie has envisioned Jewel Thief as a slick heist thriller, with the leading man sporting a suave look, complete with a ponytail. Saif has also built a chiselled, six-pack physique, for which he has been working out since last year.”

With the international schedule wrapped up in late May, the film nears completion. A brief patchwork shoot will take place in Mumbai next month, focusing on capturing cityscapes and car sequences. The source adds, “It will be only a few days of filming that will include some city and car shots. Robbie is currently neck-deep in post-production and wants to wrap it up by October.”

Actor Bakhtiyaar Irani shared an interesting tidbit in a recent interview. He revealed that he was originally cast in Dharma Productions' film Ae Watan Mere Watan, starring Sara Ali Khan, but was replaced at the final stages.

Bakhtiyaar Irani On Being Replaced At The Last Minute  "Everything seemed finalized," Bakhtiyaar continued. "The director said 'next week contract signing' and I told my close circle – about 30 people – because I was so sure." However, the contract signing never happened. The role eventually went to another actor. Uncertain Reasons for Replacement Bakhtiyaar admitted his disappointment, attributing the change to bad luck. He also expressed his lack of understanding behind the decision. "Bigger name, not necessarily a good actor," he stated, highlighting that he had undergone proper auditions and impressed the director. Actor Emraan Hashmi has addressed a comment he made a decade ago on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee with Karan. During the show's rapid-fire round in 2014, Emraan referred to actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as "plastic," sparking a lot of controversy. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Emraan has expressed regret for his remark.

Sonakshi Sinha admits she has the most beautiful life. Sonakshi married the love of her life, Zaheer Iqbal, following the success of her Netflix programme Heeramandi, and her film Kakuda, starring the newest 100 crore club member—Munjya director Aditya Sarpotdar—is currently available on ZEE5.

Sonakshi was promoting Kakuda, which also stars Ritesh Deshmukh and close buddy, actor Saqib Saleem. When questioned why she went back to work so soon after being married, Sonakshi told Indianexpress.com, “I just got married, guys. Pata nahi aisa bhi kya kar diya maine.” When asked whether she’s not planning to take off for her honeymoon with Zaheer, she said, “Maine woh bhi kar diya. And now I am back to work, and I am loving it.”

Sonakshi then explained how she quickly signed Kakuda. She added, “If I like something then I don’t believe in dilly-dallying and making the other person wait too much. If I am excited about something, then I am. I’ll go full on. That is what happened with this film as well.”

Sonakshi further added, “I think it is fantastic. I am doing exactly the kind of work that I always wanted to do and it’s been a gradual process. I have done everything. I want to be an actor who filmmakers think ‘I can put this girl in any genre and cast her in any kind of film.’ Today I am open to doing any kind of film, small film, big film, action film, romantic film, whatever film. I want to be that actor who can be cast anywhere. I have tried my hand at everything, really, and I have enjoyed it. Some films have done well; some films have not. I have made my mistakes and I have learned from them. That has really made me the actor and person I am today.”

Sonakshi Sinha's desire to explore Biopics

Sonakshi Sinha began her career with Salman Khan's Dabangg in 2010. While she has played a variety of roles throughout the course of her career, she has recently taken on projects on her own. When asked if she has intentionally chosen meaty parts over conventional glitter roles.

Sonakshi said, “I am open to everything. The role should excite me. It’s been a while since I shifted gears from a particular kind of film that I was doing to playing very strong female characters on screen. And I really enjoy that. It really satisfies me as a person and as an actor. So I will follow that same direction and then it depends on what roles I get to play. I’d love to do biopics. I’d love to do period films more, do all out action again. I really enjoyed doing action in Akira.”

Sonakshi Sinha is all set to complete 14 years as an actor in Bollywood this year in September. In these years, she played varied roles but it was only in 2024 that she played a dual role for the first time in her much-talked-about web series, Heeramandi. And now it has come to light that she has a double role in her latest release, Kakuda as well.

Kakuda is a horror comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya (2024) fame. Released directly on Zee5, it is set in a village haunted by a midget ghost. The ghost attacks a newly married man, Sunny (played by Saqib Salaam). He’s all set to die in 13 days. Not ready to take things lying down, his wife Indira aka Indu (Sonakshi Sinha) asks for help from a ghost hunter, Victor Jacobs (Riteish Deshmukh).

Very soon in the film, viewers get to know that Indu has a twin sister by the name of Gomati. The twin sister angle makes for an interesting addition and forms an important plot point, especially in the film’s second half.

In Heeramandi, meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha played the role of Rehana and that of her daughter Fareedan. But in this Netflix show directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, both characters never appear together. That’s not the case in Kakuda and many scenes feature two Sonakshi’s on the screen.

Kakuda is also Sonakshi Sinha’s first release after her marriage with her long-time boyfriend and actor Zaheer Iqbal. The wedding was a star-studded affair and also led to some controversies due to protests in Bihar and brother Luv Sinha’s comments on Zaheer on the microblogging platform X, which he later deleted.

Before Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha’s first release of 2024 was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, in which she was seen in a supporting role. Her upcoming release is Nikita Roy And The Book Of Darkness, directed by her brother Kussh Sinha.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas (2002) remains one of his most iconic works. Based on the story by the late celebrated author Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, the movie starred Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit played Paro and Chandramukhi respectively. The film became a runaway success and swept most of the awards that year.

Devdas was also one of the earliest films for actress Nehha Pendse, who was a teenager back then. She played the character of Chaurangi, one of the girls in Chandramukhi’s palace.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to be a strict taskmaster. There are also stories about his anger. However, Nehha’s experience of working with him was exactly the opposite. She revealed this while recalling an incident during the film’s shoot in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama.

“This is also what I heard (that Bhansali is a strict taskmaster). But my experience of him, not just with me but my observation of him during Devdas was very different. He was the coolest and extremely patient,” she said.

Nehha recalled an interesting incident during a scene she shot. “In fact, I remember one incident very clearly,” she said. “It was a little complex shot between me, Madhuri and others where retakes were happening because of me. It was because I wasn’t doing my part correctly. But he was so patient! Not one set of anger, nothing whatsoever. I was feeling guilty for taking retakes, but he was so chilled. Of course, I was a child. He took care of me.”

Nehha added, “So, I, honestly, have a very different experience of him. I am a little surprised when I hear all these stories of him losing his cool. My personal experience, not just with me but, like I said, being on the set in general (with him) has been very nice, beautiful and memorable.”

Nehha has always been a die-hard fan of Shah Rukh Khan, even when she was shooting Devdas. There was also a moment in the film where she shared the screen with SRK. However, she couldn’t speak to him due to an unusual reason.

“If I have to be very honest, I was a 15-16-year-old very shy girl,” she said. “He is the most courteous man ever. He is going to wish good mornings and good nights to everyone who comes in his eyesight. He makes you feel comfortable, happy, everything. I was so shy that I didn’t even have the courage to wish him good night back. I just used to smile and look down because dil mein laddoo phoot te the (I was all excited from inside).”

Nehha added that she hasn’t got a chance to meet SRK again. But if she does, she won’t let the opportunity go by abegging.

Abhishek Bachchan’s words were filled with respect and emotion as he began, "On this 25th anniversary of Kargil, firstly I'd like to remember all the great martyrs who gave the supreme sacrifice to keep us safe and for the sovereignty of this nation, of this great nation," honouring the ultimate sacrifice of our brave soldiers.

With deep respect, Abhishek Bachchan added, "My respect, love for all of you in the armed forces remains and grows with each given day." He also highlighted the significance of this milestone, "25 years of remembrance, of bravery and most of all from us citizens of the country, of an immense feeling of safety and pride that we know that you all are there on the borders taking care of us." Interestingly, Abhishek also portrayed the heroic Captain Vikram Batra in the film LOC: Kargil, making his tribute even more personal. He signed off with immense love and respect for the armed forces, remembering the fallen heroes. "My love for you is boundless, my respect grows every day and my remembrance to the brothers and sisters that we have lost. Jai Hind."

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently took to his Twitter account and share an update about the runtime and certification details for the upcoming film Bad Newz.

In his tweet, Adarsh announced that Bad Newz. has received a UA (Universal Adult) certification from the censor board, indicating that the film is suitable for Adult. Alongside this, he disclosed that the film’s runtime is a lengthy 2 hours and 45 minutes.
