Boney Kapoor meets Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, announces upcoming film city project

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor recently met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in Lucknow. The producer took to Instagram to share a photograph from the meeting, expressing his gratitude for the CM’s insights and guidance. In his post, Kapoor hinted at a significant development in the Indian film industry, announcing the upcoming shilanyas (foundation stone laying) of the International Film City by Bayview Bhutani at Y.E.I.D.A (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority), near Jewar International Airport.

UP’s Growing Role in Indian Cinema The proposed International Film City is expected to be a game-changer for Bollywood and other regional film industries, providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and production facilities. With its proximity to the upcoming Jewar International Airport, the film city aims to become a major hub for filmmaking, attracting national and international productions.

Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh has positioned itself as a film-friendly state, offering incentives, subsidies, and streamlined permissions to filmmakers. The meeting between Kapoor and the CM underscores the government’s commitment to boosting the entertainment sector in the state.
