Happy 50th birthday Sachin Tendulkar: Master Blaster expresses his ADMIRATION for Shah Rukh Khan: “I would listen to the songs of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on the way to Anjali’s house and Wankhede Stadium”

Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, turns 50 today. Hence, it’s no surprise that the master blaster is already trending on Twitter with many posting their birthday wishes for him. Though he retired nearly 10 years ago, the Gen-Z crowd is also his fan and so are the people from the older generation. Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar has always had a close bond with several Bollywood celebrities. Recently, in an interview, he opened up about his deep admiration for superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

During an interaction with Mid-Day, Sachin Tendulkar was asked about his favourite Shah Rukh Khan film. The legend revealed that both he and Shah Rukh started their career more or less at the same time. Hence, as soon as SRK’s film releases, he’ll make sure to check it out in cinemas. And that’s not all. He remembered Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and stated that he would listen to its songs while he would be on his way to his wife Anjali’s house or while heading to Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Lastly, he added that even his family members are big Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge fans.

To quote Sachin Tendulkar, “Shah Rukh’s career and mine started at the same time more or less. So, a new movie in which he had acted was out, I’d watch it. I would listen to the songs of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on the way to Anjali’s house and Wankhede Stadium. My family is a big fan of this movie as well.”

Born in 1973, Sachin Tendulkar made his debut as a part of the Bombay cricket team in a Ranji Trophy match on December 11, 1988.
