Pooja Bhatt comes in defence of Saif Ali Khan after the latter gets attacked by trolls after his recovery

On Tuesday, fans of Saif Ali Khan rejoiced as the actor received warm welcome not only from his family but also the media who were present to see the recovering actor getting discharged from Lilavati Hospital. While many appreciated Khan’s courage and spirit as he was seen walking towards his vehicle, looking healthy, some netizens resorted to ‘conspiracy theories’ as Khan found himself being targeted by trolls for making a full recovery this quickly. Actress Pooja Bhatt, sister of Saif’s sister-in-law Alia Bhatt came in defence of the actor and asked these trolls to be happy about the actor’s recouping health.

Pooja Bhatt reveals that audience should ‘applaud’ him for his grit

The actress believed that many details shared by the doctor about the wounds on the actor could have created a different picture altogether in the minds of the audience which would have resulted in these trolls. "The graphic details of the stabbing that emerged in the media painted an image in people's heads about Saif's physical state. That image was perhaps not in sync with the visuals of seeing him walk out of hospital on his own two feet," she told ETimes.

However, she insisted that as audiences we should applaud him for his bravery and courage. "But don't these very people forget that they lauded him for walking himself into the hospital as well? A man who checks himself into hospital in a wounded, traumatised condition surely has the grit to walk out of hospital on his own. We should be applauding this instead of resorting to being conspiracy theorists”.

Details about the attack on Saif Ali Khan

On January 16 morning, Bollywood woke up to the shocking news of Saif Ali Khan being stabbed six times during a robbery attack at his Mumbai residence. The actor underwent multiple surgeries at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and finally received a discharge on January 21, wherein the actor is expected to have made an almost full recovery. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police continue its investigations and are in the process of detaining the conspirators behind the attack.
