Koffee With Karan 8: Sara Ali Khan on maintaining friendship with Ananya Panday as both of them dated Kartik Aaryan: "You have to rise beyond that"

The beloved couch is back with the host Karan Johar as Hotstar Specials’ Koffee with Karan returned with season 8. This time, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday graced the couch to talk about their careers, friendships, relationships and more. During the conversation, Karan addressed the elephant in the room - Kartik Aaryan, and Sara and Annaya's past relationships with him.

Sara decided to answer the question but she talked about break-ups without mentioning anyone's name. She said, “I don't want to say that ya, it's all easy because then it comes across as a little more frivolous than it is. It isn't always easy. When you are involved with anybody, whether it's friends, professionally, romantically, especially if I am, I get involved and invested. It is not like, ‘Oh yeah, it doesn’t really matter, whatever it's today, whatever it is tomorrow'. It's not like that. It does affect you. But ultimately you have to rise beyond that.”

“Something I have realised without sounding semi-negative is that there are no permanent predicaments in this business. In my personal experience, there is no point making permanent best friendships, pinky promises, saying I'll never talk to you again. All these nevers and always nahi hota (doesn't happen)," she added.

Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan dated for a while and were in a relationship during Love Aaj Kal promotions. Ananya and Kartik also dated at one point briefly and the relationship was confirmed by her mother Bhavana Pandey on an episode of Koffee With Karan.
