Gadar 2 is set to release in theatres on August 11. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the sequel promises a lot of fun, action and nostalgia. In the trailer, towards the end, you see Sunny Deol looking at a hand pump which is a direct callback to the scene in the first part which has remained iconic. Turns out, in theatres, apparently a fake hand pump has been set.

Anil Sharma, at the trailer launch earlier this month, had said, “When I met him for the narration, he asked me, ‘Sharma ji, hum (Gadar 2) kyun bana rahe hai? Gadar itni badi hit hai. Uski ek legacy hai. I replied, ‘Kyunki poora Hindustan chahta hai ki Gadar 2 banein. Humein logon ki toh sunni chahiye’. This is when he agreed to a narration. When he heard the story, unki aankhon mein nanha sa ek aansoo aaya. That’s how the journey began’.”

The film is directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, Anil Sharma Productions and MM Moviez. It will release in theatres on August 11, 2023. Bollywood producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has spent a whopping Rs. 103 crore to purchase apartments. The producer purchased apartments on the 15th and 16th floors respectively at Parishram by Rustomjee on Nargis Dutt Road at Pali Hill in Mumbai.

As per a report in Money Control, the apartment units are spread across 9,000 square feet and were registered on July 25, 2023. The carpet area of the units is 7,791 sq. ft. The registration took place between Keystone Realtors and Dinesh Prem Vijan. The documents showed that a stamp duty of Rs 6.17 crore was paid.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Vijan is busy with many projects. Following Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, he is producing Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has accused two of her colleagues of criminal activities, including hacking her social media accounts, buying fake bulk tickets, and manipulating box office collections.

In a series of Instagram stories on Sunday, Ranaut said that she was informed by a fan about a scam in which people were using her name to hack into accounts. She shared a screenshot of the scam, which showed a message from someone claiming to be Ranaut's online manager.

Ranaut said that she had nothing to do with the scam and that the people behind it were part of the "film mafia." She also made some shocking claims about two of her colleagues, whom she did not name.

"Film mafia has always indulged in criminal activities," she said. "This superstar who I dated later claimed that I was dating his imposter. He used to use different numbers and accounts to chat with me, he also hacked my account and operated in a shady way."

Ranaut said that she also had a run-in with another superstar, whom she described as a "womaniser." She said that he landed at her house and begged her to date him, but she refused. She then accused him of hacking her devices and lying about his marriage and child.

Ranaut's allegations have not been verified, but they have caused a stir.

In a recent interview, actor Vicky Kaushal shared that he doesn't feel like a “star” in today's world, where stardom is attainable like “instant coffee.” Vicky said that he believes that true stardom takes decades of hard work and dedication. He cited actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan as examples of true stars, who have all achieved longevity in their careers.

“The accessibility today is such that a person is a star only till he or she is in the news or trending on social media. A real star has to have longevity – like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik. Earlier in Bollywood, stardom came after decades of hard work and that fame was for life,” told Vicky in an interaction with Spicejet Limelight.

“Today, stardom is easily attainable-like instant coffee. You can even buy followers, fans, ticks and verifications. Today's stardom is like fast food,” he said. Vicky added that he is grateful for the love he receives from his audience, but he doesn't feel like he belongs in the same category as the "true stars" of Bollywood. "I am not a star," he said. "I am just an actor who is trying to do his best work."

Coming to the professional front, the 35-year-old actor was last seen in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. He has several projects in the pipeline, including the late Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw's biopic Sam Bahadur, which is slated to release on December 1.

Actor Salman Khan, who currently hosts the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2, has taunted contestant Bebika Dhurve. In the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, he said that she will even win the next few seasons of the show.

A promo clip of the episode was shared by Voot on Instagram on Saturday night. In the clip, Salman can be seen telling Bebika, "Bebika, aap bohut sahi ho, baaki sab bewakoof hai (Only you are right. Everyone else is a fool)." She replied, "No, sir."

Salman continued, "So, Bebika has been fantastic all this week. Everyone loves Bebika's personality. Bebika is going to win this season, next season, the next season after this. Beautiful, Bebika. Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, released on Prime Video on July 21. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has opened to mixed reviews. Some even called the makers insensitive for using a highly sensitive topic as analogies in a romance drama. Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon on Friday spoke about the Auschwitz–Holocaust reference in Bawaal. He said that he has not watched the film, but the trivialization of the Holocaust should disturb all.

“I did not and will not watch the film Bawaal but from what I’ve read, there was a poor choice of terminology and symbolism. Trivialisation of the Holocaust should disturb all. I urge those who don’t know enough about the horrors of the #Holocaust to educate themselves about it,” the ambassador wrote.

Released in 2013, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial Bhaag Milkha Bhaag completed 10 years this month and to pay tribute to the Indian sprint legend, the late Milkha Singh, the COO of Viacom18 Studios, Ajit Andhare and Executive Producer of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, P. S. Bharathi from ROMP Pictures will be re-releasing the biographical sports drama on August 6 in selected theaters. Ahead of the re-release, a special screening was scheduled on July 26 for hearing and speech-impaired people at PVR Icon Andheri West, Mumbai and the cast came together to pay homage to the late Milkha Singh. Farhan Akhtar attended one screening with the team and was overwhelmed with the experience.

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of those rare artistes who is a mainstream actor and at the same time a prolific singer. Apart from some impressive songs in his own films like ‘Paani Da Rang’, ‘Saadi Gali’ and ‘Haareya’, he has also come up with singles where he has displayed the richness of his vocal cords with ‘Mitti Di Khushboo’ being the most known. Ayushmann came up with another single earlier this month in the form of ‘Raatan Kaaliyan’, which has also become successful and is applauded by fans.

Sharing his reaction on the same, Ayushmann said in a statement, “I’m glad that ‘Raatan Kaaliyan’ is being called a hit song now and that it is getting so much love from Indians and South Asians across so many countries. The feedback and the love that I’m getting from people across the world is simply overwhelming. This reminds me that I should give more time to my music and give the audience more music and hopefully they enjoy it in the years to come!”

Speaking about the inspiration behind his music, he added, “My music is a reflection of my soul and my state of mind. I believe I bare my deepest thoughts through my music and I’m fortunate that people have loved my music since ‘Paani Da Rang’ and the emotions that I have tried to convey through my songs.”

Ayushmann believes that, at the end of the day, it is the audience that decides the fate of any song. “It is the audience who make music into chartbusters,” he said. “It has to appeal to their heart and speak to their mind. No amount of publicity or marketing can make a song into a hit. There is no formula for it because delivering a hit completely depends on how your song connects with the audience. I would like to believe I have been quite lucky to have many such songs. It feels amazing to have hits to my credit - be it my films or my music. I like to entertain people with my craft, as an actor and as a singer. So, I feel genuinely happy when they appeal to the widest possible audience.”

‘Raatan Kaaliyan’ is composed by Rochak Kohli and written by Gurpreet Saini and Gautam G Sharma.

As far as films are concerned, Ayushmann will next be seen in the keenly awaited Dream Girl 2. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and also starring Ananya Panday, the film will be releasing in theatres on August 25.

Dev Entertainment Ventures and Pramod Films once again collaborates to bring in the magical tale of Mahabharata on big screen. Produced by Bengal's superstar Dev Adhikari and Prateek Chakravorty from Mumbai, the film promises to be Bengal's biggest visual extravaganza.

The production houses have roped in Bollywood filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee to helm this magnum opus. While Rukmini Maitra will play the title role. The film is based on noted author Pratibha Ray's award winning Odiya novel Yajnaseni. "When director Ram Kamal approached me for the film rights of Yajnaseni through my publisher Rupa Publications, I was delighted that even today Indian filmmakers are interested in the story of Mahabharata. My book, Yajnaseni, is about Mahabharata from Draupadi's point of view with contemporary relevance. Yajnaseni is an epitome of Patience, Penance and Power. It's a creative collaboration, and Ram Kamal being an author himself, will definitely do justice to Yajnaseni and her story. I feel we are at the right time to revisit our epics and tell the new generation about our culture and heritage, winner Pratibha Ray says.

Producer Dev Adhikari from Dev Entertainment Ventures says, "After watching Ram Kamal's work in Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan, I realized that he has an amazing sense of aesthetics and visual presentation skill. Bengal's leading actress Rukmini Maitra says, "It's pleasure to reunite with Ram Kamal after Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan, because he makes me feel comfortable in characters that are extremely challenging to portray on screen. The production houses released a motion poster designed by Ekta Bhattacharjee from Ekta Tales with background score composed by Sourendro and Soumyojit duo. The Sanskrit verses in Draupadi motion poster are written by Ram Kamal. Currently the director is wrapping up his postproduction work on Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan, and simultaneously working on the research and screenplay of the film. "I am thankful to my producers Dev and Prateek for standing by my vision once again, this time on a much larger scale. I am grateful to Pratibhaji (Ray) for giving us the official filming rights of her best seller novel Yajnaseni. And finally, I am overwhelmed to reunite with my most favourite Rukmini as Draupadi. I know for a fact that we both will have to work hard on this film. I don't remember when was the last time Bengali cinema produced a mythological film? Hats off to Dev and Prateek for taking that leap of faith with me and Rukmini," says director Ram Kamal Mukherjee. He will be working along with Paawaan Aagarwal as co-researcher and screenplay writer for this film. He worked as my Chief Associate Director in Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan. The remaining cast and technical team will be finalized after completion of screenplay. "This film needs four months pre-production and rigorous workshop before we hit the floor," added Mukherjee.

In his 25th year as a filmmaker, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt released today in theatres worldwide. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Bengali actors Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly. As the appreciation is increasing tenfold for the film, writer Ishita Moitra penned a heartfelt note and shared a series of photos with Karan Johar, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

In a lengthy note on Friday, Ishita Moitra thankd Karan Johar for giving the opportunity to channel her creative energy. She wrote, “Soch nayi swaad wahi”. Welcome 3 has in the works for a while. Akshay Kumar will be back with the third installment. The script has been locked. Reports now say that Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are now no longer part of the project. Instead, Munna Bhai duo Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will be joining the franchise.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Of the 3 films under Firoz Nadiadwala’s banner, Welcome might be the first to take off as the script is ready a while back. The filmmaker is planning to bring a spin to the narrative of this comic caper by getting Sanjay Dutt and Arshad to play the notorious gangsters – Majnu and Uday. The duo have already shown their chemistry as Munna and Circuit and now it will be time to explore the dimension in a new franchise.”

When asked why Patekar and Kapoor are no longer part of the project, the source added, “It’s a case of monetary disagreements between the duo and the producer.”

The trailer launch event of Gadar 2 was mismanaged and highly delayed. But it boasted some entertaining moments thanks to the artists of the film who shared fascinating trivia about the film. Ameesha Patel narrated how she was told by some of the prominent people of the Bollywood fraternity that she should not sign Gadar (2001), in which she played a mother.

Ameesha Patel said, “When Anil Sharma narrated the story of Gadar to me, there were some of the biggest Bollywood personalities whom I met. I won't like to name them. They told me, 'Aap yeh kaisa role kar rahe ho? Aur kyun kar rahe ho?' This was the time when I was doing a film with Salman Khan (Yeh Hai Jalwa; 2002), in which I was playing a college-going girl. I was working on a film with Ajay Devgn (Parwana; 2003), in which he played a professor while I again was a college student. I was also working on two films with Hrithik Roshan – Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000) and Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage (2002). In both these films, I was yet again playing a young girl. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai had not even released and everyone was of the opinion that ‘aap maa ka role kar hi nahin paaoge’. But I like challenges and going out of my comfort zone. I also had faith in my director (Anil Sharma). He’s brilliant. Aur itni khoobsurat prem kahani, na pehle kabhi likhi thi, na kabhi koi likhega.”

Ameesha continued, “It was difficult but Anil ji used to patiently guide me at every step to ensure I look like a mother and not a college student. He worked with me on dialogues, looks etc for 6 months. We used to sit for 12 hours a day.”

Ameesha Patel then said, “When Gadar 2 was being discussed, again people questioned me, ‘Dude, have you seen yourself on Instagram? ‘Lazy Lamhe’ waali ladki ab kaise Gadar karegi? How will she play mother to a 20-year-old boy? I decided to take up the challenge yet again!”

Also present at the event were Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma, director Anil Sharma, Shariq Patel of Zee Studios etc.

Gadar – Ek Prem Katha (2001) is one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. It elevated Sunny Deol’s stardom by many notches. He showed his romantic and comic side in the film but he was loved the most for his action avatar. Some of the action scenes in the film have achieved cult status. As a result, the expectations are immense from Gadar 2. The trailer of the film was launched yesterday, on July 26. The response has been positive, especially for the action sequences involving the veteran star.

Anil Sharma excitedly spoke about Sunny Deol at the trailer launch, “There’s a scene involving Sunny Deol doing action with a hammer. Our team of 10-15 people were sitting one day. I asked them, ‘Jo Bollywood aur South ke bade bade hero hai, woh yeh scene karte toh kaise lagta?’ They unanimously said, ‘Woh log karte toh bhi accha lagta lekin jaise Sunny sir lag rahe hai, waisa koi nahin lagta’!” As expected, fans and media broke into applause over this statement.

Anil Sharma also stated, “When I met him for the narration, he asked me, ‘Sharma ji, hum (Gadar 2) kyun bana rahe hai? Gadar itni badi hit hai. Uski ek legacy hai. I replied, ‘Kyunki poora Hindustan chahta hai ki Gadar 2 banein. Humein logon ki toh sunni chahiye’. This is when he agreed to a narration. When he heard the story, unki aankhon mein nanha sa ek aansoo aaya. That’s how the journey began’.”

Anil Sharma talked highly of Sunny Deol’s co-star Ameesha Patel, “Then Sakina came on board. I fail to understand yeh itni sundar kaise lagti hai? Inka roop badhta hi ja raha hai. Samay badh raha hai par inki umar kam hoti ja rahi hai!”

Set amidst the tumultuous ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971, the trailer is packed with powerful dialogues, and high-octane action featuring military tankers, trucks, and the iconic hand pump. The India vs Pakistan storytelling has become the brand of Gadar over the years. However, Sunny Deol says that people of both countries have equal love for each other. It is the politics that birth the hatred.

Speaking to reporters at the Gadar 2 trailer launch, Sunny Deol, who is also BJP MP from Punjab's Gurdaspur, said, 'The essence lies in humanity, not in taking or giving. There is love on both sides (India-Pakistan). It is the political game that creates all this hatred. And you will see the same in this film as well that the people do not want us to fight with each other."

The launch of the first song ‘Zinda Banda’ from the much-anticipated film Jawan is around the corner, and there are many speculations of how grand the song would be. Produced at an impressive budget of over Rs. 15 crores, ‘Zinda Banda’ will showcase the spectacular visual of SRK dancing like never-before with thousands of girls. Until now, the only glimpse that the audiences received of Jawan music is that of ‘The King Khan rap’, performed by the Grammy-nominated artist Raja Kumari, which was also a part of the prevue. The actress recently sat down for a conversation to talk about several aspects of the film industry. During the same chat, she talked about the PR game and how important it has become to do self-promotions in order to remain relevant in the industry.

In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about the pressure of staying relevant in the industry and the PR strategies. She said, “I’ve been told there’s a major lack of PR on my part. But, you know, I have noticed in these past five years, so many people after a film releases the conversations always along the lines of ‘there’s no such thing as a bad film, it's only bad marketing.’ ‘Arre aise promote karna chahiye tha’ (You must have promoted your film this way).”

She added, “I think that there’s an intrinsic fear when you are in an industry or in an environment where everyone kind of has, you know those speaker phones and everybody is shouting to do this and do that, and you are scared that if I’m the only quite one, would anyone even notice. But I think it takes a lot of courage to stick to your guns and be like no, my work is enough. I think that takes a lot and it’s very daunting. And most times we can’t follow through with it and I know that I have wavered.”

“I think it's interesting to observe how the conversation is always marketing and PR driven and not so much that think about your films choices or may be this or may be that as oppose to ‘Aree thoda zyada naach leti toh shayad achha kar leti,” Janhvi further added.

During the same chat, when Varun Dhawan asked Janhvi about the most ‘insecure’ thing she has done for movie promotions, she said, “So I did this film called Mili and I got a lot of great reviews and appreciation for my performance, but it didn’t perform well at all at the box office. So, I was being told to take what you can from it and then they made these creatives of people saying a lot of positive things about just the performance. They (makers) were like okay, let’s plaster this everywhere so that people forget that it (Mili) only earned like negligible amounts of money at the box office. You know the good reviews, which is great and makes complete logical sense. It’s not even like we are lying, it's the truth. I think…to get your brain to work in that way is like a 10 percent bikau (saleable) nature to what should be a sacred art form I think.”

The premiere of the movie was held on Tuesday night which saw the attendance of who’s who of the industry. Karisma Kapoor was in attendance to support her sister-in-law Alia Bhatt.

Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor released on Prime Video on July 21. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has opened to mixed reviews. While many applauded the performances of the actors, they were equally criticized for the analogies related to Auschwitz, Hitler and World War II references. The makers were being called insensitive for using a highly sensitive topic as analogies in a romance drama. Varun Dhawan recently defended Bawaal saying that people can’t have different yardstick for films.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actor said, “I'm not new to criticism. My films Judwaa, Main Tera Hero, and ABCD2, have been criticized which is totally cool. I respect the criticism. What I don't understand like how Sir (Nitesh Tiwari) said that it's a context and the protagonist is from Lucknow and it's showing that the character which is Ajju Bhaiya is initially a tone-deaf character. This is how it has been shown and it's not showing the character as a hero but as a negative. That's why all the praise is coming for the character that a hero for the first time gets to do a negative character. So the character is supposed to be negative. So the way Nisha (Janhvi's character) will explain him in a way that he should understand.”

He added, “Secondly, I respect everyone's opinions and everyone has a right to have an opinion. Some people got triggered and sensitive about this but I don't understand where that sensitivity or the trigger goes when they watch an English film. They are allowed to do and show everything and you will find that in a correct way.”

Without mentioning the name Oppenheimer which is embroiled in controversy surrounding Bhagavad Gita appearance during a sex scene between Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh, Varun Dhawan said, “I know people who felt very triggered after watching the small scene from a recently released film but it's a scene that is very important to our culture and our country but that is okay for you. So where does the criticism go then? But with us, you wanna get personal. You cannot have a different yardstick to measure everyone and it should be the same. There is no need for judging films this way.”

A Mumbai court on Tuesday dismissed the extortion charge against lyricist Javed Akhtar which was filed by Kangana Ranaut. The case revolves around her public dispute with Hrithik Roshan. According to her plea, she alleged that Akhtar had called her and her sister Rangoli Chandel to his house in March 2016, and demanded an apology from her to Hrithik Roshan.

"Asking a person to give a written apology will not come under the definition of valuable security....because no legal right is created, extended, transferred, restricted, extinguished or released," a Magistrate court said in Mumbai, as reported by India Today.

"However, the accused, with a malafide intention and ulterior motive, called her and her sister Rangoli Chandel at his house in Juhu in the month of March 2016 and criminally intimidated and threatened the complainant (Kangana Ranaut) as well as forced her to tender a written apology to the co-star thereby forcefully seeking to create a document (valuable security) in favour of her co-star," the plea alleged.

It began when Ranaut allegedly made certain defamatory remarks against Akhtar in an interview after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise on July 14, 2020. Following this, Akhtar filed a defamation case against her in 2020. After this, Ranaut filed the present complaint against Akhtar claiming that she was asked to apologise to Hrithik Roshan.

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that the young star, Vicky Kaushal, riding high on the success of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is joining the Rohit Shetty cop universe. The actor had come on board to play a cop in the role of Ajay Devgn aka. Bajirao Singham's younger brother in the film. However, in the latest development, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Vicky Kaushal has taken a back seat from Singham Again.

"Vicky Kaushal was very keen to do a front-footed mass film for Rohit Shetty and had even decided on his look for Singham Again. However, the dates of shooting for Singham Again are clashing with the shooting dates of Chhava. He has a certain look from the period era in Chavva and that can't be replicated in a modern film like Singham Again. After making all attempts to set things up for Singham Again, he couldn't and informed his decision to Rohit Shetty. Being a thorough professional, Rohit too understood his plight," revealed a source close to the development to Bollywood Hungama.

The date issues popped up due to the combination date matter. "Rohit wanted to shoot with Ajay, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal together. While everyone has allotted their dates for October, Vicky was occupied with Chavva. It would have been difficult to take everyone's dates again for the shoot. Everyone is sad about missing out on this casting coup, but decided to move on for a probable collaboration in the future," the source told us further.

Meanwhile, Singham Again also stars Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in key roles.

However, CBFC had asked for several cuts in the movie. From scenes containing abusive words to references to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, including the dialogue ‘Khela Hobe’ (Game on) which was the slogan for TMC during the 2021 Assembly elections, were asked to be removed. While interacting with the media, Alia addressed the CBFC cuts.

When asked about the cuts in the movie, Alia Bhatt said that they followed the protocol but also said that even after those cuts, the final film flows seamlessly. She said, “There have been some minor cuts that have been asked by the board and we respect that completely and that has been coordinated but whatever cut (of ‘Khela hobe’) you’re talking about is not the case. I think we should let everybody watch the film and not talk about what’s been cut. The final cut (of the film) is seamlessly flowing regardless of these minor cuts.”

For unversed, Bollywood Hungama had reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the romantic family drama after enforcing certain cuts. The report read, “To begin with, the abusive word ‘b******d’, used multiple times in the film, was replaced by ‘behan di’. The popular rum brand Old Monk was mentioned in the film and it was changed to ‘Bold Monk’. ‘Lok Sabha’ was also mentioned in a dialogue and the CBFC asked the makers to remove it and not even replace it with any other term.”

Adding to that, it read, “A certain word was replaced with ‘Koi filter’ in the Rabindranath Tagore scene. In the absence of exact detail, its not clear whether or not the mention of the legendary figure has been retained. Then, an entire dialogue about West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee, was asked to be deleted. Lastly, a certain dialogue in the lingerie shop scene, which was termed as ‘degrading women’ and ‘vulgar’, was removed. In the same scene, ‘bra’ was replaced with ‘item’. After these changes were made, the CBFC handed over the certificate to the makers on Wednesday, July 19. The length of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 168 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours and 48 minutes long.”

The much-awaited film Jawan has generated tremendous hype among the moviegoers, industry and trade. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and after the blockbuster success of his last film Pathaan (2023), the hype for the action entertainer had gone up by many notches. But the excitement went through the roof after the teaser was unveiled last week. And now, fans are excited to see the trailer as well as the songs of the film before it releases on September 7.

Bollywood Hungama has stumbled upon an interesting update. A source told us, “Before the trailer, the makers of Jawan will launch a song. It’s titled ‘Zinda Banda’ and it’s a catchy track. It features Shah Rukh Khan and is shot on a grand scale. The makers are confident that the grandeur of the track will leave viewers astonished. At the same time, they believe that the audio of ‘Zinda Banda’ will also catch on as it is well-tuned by reputed composer Anirudh Ravichander.” Interestingly, Jawan also marks Anirudh’s first Hindi film album.

When asked when the song will be out, the source replied, “The makers haven’t locked a date yet, but it is expected to be launched in the first week of August. The trailer has also been cut but that will be unveiled close to the release.”

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and others. Deepika Padukone features in a special appearance. Reportedly, Sanjay Dutt and Thalapathy Vijay, too, will be seen in the film in cameos. Jawan is directed by Atlee and will also release in Tamil and Telugu.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan will have one more release this year after Jawan, that is, Dunki. In other words, SRK will have as many as three releases in 2023. Dunki is directed by blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.

During the conversation with the media on Monday, Alia Bhatt recalled shooting 'Tum Kya Mile' in freezing Kashmir. She shared that in-between takes, Ranveer would remove his puffer jackets and put them in on her as she was wearing chiffon sarees. She revealed, “In those conditions, I had to wear chiffon sarees, but what many people don’t realise is that the team takes great care of the actor on the set. You don’t see the heaters around, the leg warmers I had on, and how Ranveer, who was wearing jackets, would keep putting them on me in between takes to provide some respite. But I must praise myself a bit, I am a trooper in that sense. I go with the flow and I am always focused on getting the job done. Wearing a puffer jacket over that chiffon saree would have taken away the beauty, so I was happy doing it as I got to live my dream.”

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra is turning to direction. Ready to launch his production house Stage 5 with three movies, one of the projects will be a biopic on veteran legend, late Meena Kumari. The ace designer recently confirmed that he is indeed working on the biopic and that the scripting is currently underway.

In an interview with Film Companion, Manish Malhotra said, “I don’t know how it got out but it is happening. We are still working on the script. The script is key, always. I have been reading her books. The film is based on her books. I have always been fascinated by Meena Kumari.”

He revealed that Rekha inspired him to go ahead with the Meena Kumari project. He added, “Rekha told me once that you know when you turn 40, you will understand the genius of Meena Kumari. And that is true. But I was young and I was busy working but when I turned 40 I not only understood the genius of Meena Kumari but even Nargis ji and Dilip Kumar and Guru Dutt. I started watching that cinema and understanding it so much better. I think Meena Kumari is phenomenal with her expressions, the way she uses her eyes and her adah.”

Meena Kumari passed away at the age of 38 from liver cirrhosis. She had worked in 98 films and is considered one of the legendary stars of Indian cinema. While the project is underway, Meena Kumar’s husband Kamal Amrohi’s son Tajdar Amrohi has raised concerns over the biopic. Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, he recently said, “My lawyer asked me has the film even started. I told him no, I have just heard about it. Even big production houses like to be in news. So, he told me that in case they decide to shelve the project in future, it would come across as I am publicity hungry. I am making enemies in vain. I don’t want to do that. People would think I am publicity hungry, but I am not that way.”

He added, “Is this the only couple in Bollywood left to make a film on? With all due respect to Nargis ji, Vyjanthimala ji, Reena Rai, Madhubala, Parveen Babi, Geeta Bali, there are many names. Why aren’t they making films on them? Why are they only behind my parents?”

Reportedly, Kriti Sanon has been signed for Meena Kumari biopic. Speaking of her, he said, “All I know is that she is a very good and beautiful actress. Whenever I meet her, I will tell her I am sorry if whatever I said hurt her. All that I said was for the person who is going to do the film, be it you or someone else. I’ll tell her you are a very popular and good actress and you might think of me as an enemy, but I am not one. Karan Johar, who is gearing up for his directorial after seven years, was promoting Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani along with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh at an event as part of India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) Back To School series. While interacting with the media and the students at the event, the filmmaker spoke about cinema and OTT content influencing impressionable minds and how it is redefining the cultural fabric of society.

While answering the said question, Karan said, “What a load question to begin with. I have to be critical to answer this from an honest place. I do believe that cinema is a reflection of society and vice-versa. Cinema also draws from society, literally. Sometimes, let’s just say there is an exaggeration in Indian cinema, but a lot of situations depicted on celluloid are actually very close to reality.”

He added, “And as a filmmaker, I have only drawn from human observation. From the observation of the community that surrounds me, the society we live in, the people we interact with, it is very critical that you understand the syntax of your surroundings and only then as a writer or filmmaker you tell the story.”

“Of course, some of us who have grown up in urban India have a certain understanding of those dynamics and relationships, and there are some others, who are privileged, have been exposed to the rest of India and who can tell those stories with equal abundance. I do believe that the content today is definitely broadening the human spectrum of relationships and pushing the envelope, by not sugar-coating it or doing puff pieces of love and romance. We are showing the grey areas, and you have to know, especially as students, that life is way beyond black or white. Walking the path of grey every day, it is not a bad thing, because grey is the actual representation of your vulnerable side, of your true side. And I think whether it's OTT platforms or new-age cinema, all of them expose the vulnerabilities of human beings and that is the strength of our content today”, Karan concluded.

Veteran actor Zeenat Aman, who has been garnering a lot of attention due to her Instagram, will return to the silver screen with Faraz Arif Ansari’s next, Bun Tikki. Last seen in Panipat, she will join actors Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol in the upcoming movie. The plan is to take the movie on floors by November of this year in Himachal Pradesh. The director plans to talk about parenting and gender identity throughout the movie. Abhay Deol will play the role of a father.

According to a report in Mid-Day, a source from the creative team revealed, “Though Bun Tikki revolves around Abhay and his on-screen son, Shabana and Zeenat form the film’s backbone. Casting for the child is underway. When Faraz approached Zeenat, she loved the script. She always knew that if she made a comeback, it would be with a story that aligned with her ideas and beliefs. Bun Tikki was just that. She told Faraz she had to be a part of this film as it explores many causes she feels strongly about.”

The source further revealed, “Children have to deal with many issues today, which also play a role in creating their identity as an adult. Often, the onus is on children to behave better and achieve certain goals, but the film places equal responsibility on parents. It celebrates the power of love, kindness and friendship.”

Kajol’s web series debut The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha is garnering a positive response from the audience. Streaming on Disney + Hotstar, the show trails the journey of Noyonika played by the stunning Kajol, as she embarks on a journey that truly makes her stand the test of time after her husband’s betrayal.

Kajol’s portrayal of a vulnerable woman who takes the rein of her life in her own hand has been unanimously appreciated by audiences. The show’s esteemed star cast Sheeba Chaddha, Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait and Gaurav Pandey have raised the bar with their impactful performances in this gripping journey of Noyonika’s life.

Directed by Suparn S Varma, the show has reached a remarkable number of views and has been receiving good word of mouth.

Recently, there have been numerous reports about a speculated relationship between Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday. Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday have never addressed these rumours. Interestingly, the couple have also never featured on the big screen together.

On the professional front, Ananya Panday was last seen in Liger, opposite South sensation Vijay Deverakonda. The actress has wrapped the shoot for her next film, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. She will soon share the screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana in the sequel of Dream Girl. She also has a project titled, Call Me Bae that is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video.

On the other hand, Aditya Roy Kapur has been making waves in the entertainment industry with his recent appearances. He recently appeared in the crime thriller film Gumraah and has been enjoying the success of his debut web show, The Night Manager. The second part of the show was recently released on Disney+ Hotstar. Aditya will also be seen in Anurag Basu's upcoming film Metro... In Dino.
