Deepika Padukone turns boss-lady for the cover of TIME Magazine; joins the likes of Barrack Obama, Oprah Winfrey
Deepika Padukone in her illustrious career has gone on to conquer the global arena with a string of achievements including making a Hollywood and Oscar debut. Adding another feather to her hat, the superstar has now featured on the cover of the prestigious TIME Magazine for its May 2023 edition. The actress, who is currently riding high on the success of Pathaan and gearing up for a series of interesting lineup of films like Project K and Fighter, was recently seen attending the Oscars as a presenter.
With this, Deepika Padukone gets added to the list of the rare Indian actors to be on the cover of TIME, as she joins the club of global figures like Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and other influential personalities who’ve had the honour of featuring on the cover. It is not her first association with TIME since last year the actress was awarded ‘The Time100 Impact Award’ for her achievements in cinema and for her work in mental health advocacy. She was also the only Indian to be honoured twice by TIME.

Among her many achievements, Deepika Padukone not only made headlines for her Oscar presence but also for becoming the first Indian to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy. The actress has also been a part of the eight-member jury at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2022.

On the film front, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the highly anticipated Nag Ashwin film Project K, a sci-fi drama that stars Prabhas in the lead along with Amitabh Bachchan and an ensemble cast. While this will be a pan India film, the actress will also be seen together with Hrithik Roshan for the first time on the big screen. She will be seen as the leading of Fighter, also co-starring Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, among others, which is set against the backdrop of air-force pilots. Both the films are expected to hit the screens in January 2024.
