Kangana Ranaut lauds SS Rajamouli for his “striking display of Indian aesthetics” at the Golden Globe Awards 

The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR created history at the 80th edition of the Golden Globe awards as its song ‘Naatu Naatu’ feted with the award for Best Original song in Motion Picture. While congratulatory messages are still pouring in, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has a different reason to celebrate! On Friday, the dive took to her Instagram story section and re-shared a post of SS Rajamouli, which also featured composer M M Keeravaani.

Instagramming the story, the Queen actress expressed her pride for SS Rajamouli's dhoti drape at the award show. She wrote, “Apart from the Golden Globe trophy, the proud display of Indian aesthetics is eye-catching... Never thought the dhoti drape would ever make it to the international red carpet... Thank you sir.” 

Speaking of Rajamouli’s attire for the award night, he opted for a dhoti-kurta look along with a dupatta.

Besides Kangana, several Indian celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among others, also celebrated the big win. Other nominees in the category include ‘Carolina’, ‘Ciao Papa’, ‘Hold My Hand’, and ‘Lift Me Up.’ 

Coming back to Kangana Ranaut, the 35-year-old actress was last seen in Dhaakad. Though the film had created a buzz prior to its release, it performed poorly at the box office. 

Currently, she is shooting for the last leg of Emergency, which is also written and directed by her. It is her second directorial venture. She will be seen playing India’s first Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. As the title suggests, the upcoming political drama is based on the 1977 Indian Emergency. The ensemble star cast includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman.

Besides this, she also has Tejas in her kitty along with her second Tamil project, Chandramukhi 2.
