Deepika Padukone gets teary-eyed, emotional while talking about Pathaan’s earth-shattering success; says, ‘I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Shah Rukh Khan and his vision for me’

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone got teary-eyed and emotional at the press conference of Pathaan. It’s been seven days since the film released in theatres and it continues to receive a massive response from the audience. The film has already crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark shattering several records. Released on January 25, 2023, worldwide, the film is led by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika and John Abraham and helmed by Siddharth Anand. Seeing the kind of response the film is receiving not simply in theatres but also on social media, the actress was quite emotional about it. Speaking to the media on Monday, the 37-year-old actress said that it was surreal to witness the response at Gaiety Galaxy. “It felt amazing. We had been doing indoor screening for days but finally, I got a chance to get out. I wanted to go on the day of the film’s release but that could not happen. To experience this kind of love, especially when what the world has been through, the fact that a movie like this can bring people together, that it can bring so much joy and celebration that it almost feels like a festival,” she said.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Bollywood Hungama???? Then when you see this love and appreciation and get rewarded like this, then it all seems worth it.” Talking about her relationship with SRK after working in Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year, she said, “I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Shah Rukh and his vision for me. He has given me confidence and even he doesn't know that,” she said. Even Pathaan was mired in controversy with the film getting threats for Deepika Padukone wearing a saffron swimsuit in ‘Besharam Rang’ song. There were calls made for boycott, posters were being burnt, theatres were being threatened and more. The film is currently running in theatres in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It is the fourth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and War. The film marked the cameo of Salman Khan as Tiger and the mention of Hrithik Roshan’s character Kabir. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone will next star in Siddharth Anand's Fighter with Hrithik Roshan, and Nag Ashwin's next with Prabhas.
