Selena Gomez gets emotional talking about her mental health in the trailer of Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me; says, “I don't want to be super famous”
Apple Original Films on Monday unveiled the trailer for the highly anticipated documentary feature about singer, songwriter, actress, producer, entrepreneur and activist Selena Gomez, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, directed and produced by Alek Keshishian. The announcement was made on World Mental Health Day, in support of global mental health education and awareness, as Selena bravely shares her own journey in this revealing film.
After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieved unimaginable stardom. But just as she reached a new peak, an unexpected turn pulled her into darkness. This raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light. “Just be who you are, Selena," the voice-over of the songstress begins. “No one cares about what you're doing. It is about who I am, being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.” The trailer gives a glimpse of Gomez receiving her lupus diagnosis and says that she had a mental breakdown. Selena says in the video, “I'm going to stop living like this.”
Selena is in tears in the trailer as she says, “My whole life since I was a kid I've been working. I don't want to be, like, super famous, but I do know that if I'm here I have to use that for good.”
Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, will premiere on November 4, 2022 on Apple TV+.
