The actress was in Goa for the wedding festivities of celebrity photographer and entrepreneur Rahul Jhangiani who tied the knot to his long-time partner Shimul Patel in an intimate setting. The venue Casa Waters by the beach, was specially designed and constructed to go along with the vibe of the wedding, which was a ‘music festival’. Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor must have had many conversations with her sister Khushi Kapoor about this industry and social media attention. Khushi made her debut earlier this month with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.

Janhvi Kapoor spoke about her sister Khushi Kapoor’s The Archies at recent AajTak Agenda 2023 conclave. Speaking in Hindi and English, she said, “She [Khushi] did such a wonderful job at being honest. When I was talking to her, I told her to be prepared for hate but not to forget herself in the process. I wish someone said this to me. I wish someone told me to try looking at the people that value you, like you because believing the bad is always easier.”

She added, “When someone says something bad about you, then believing that person becomes easier. It takes a lot of self-confidence to believe someone who says the right thing. Me and my sister, at times, we question ourselves a lot. I told her 'Don’t lose yourself, don’t be jaded because you’ve been very honest.' I felt her performance was very warm, there was a lot of innocence in it. She was not trying to show anything off and it is very difficult to be this real in front of the camera.”

Furthermore, she said, “I advise her every day. She is tired of listening to me. I also feel she is more sensible than me. When I debuted, the pressure was a lot more, and a lot was going on the personal front [Sridevi died five months before Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak], I was like a headless chicken. The validation I was looking for from my mother, which wasn’t there suddenly, I started looking for it from the audience. And I put so much pressure on me that Dhadak, which was a commercially successful film and everyone gained from that film, but the social media chatter got to me and whatever decision I took for the next five years, was born out of insecurity. Slowly, I started running away from the discussion around the fact that I am my mother’s daughter.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's son AbRam’s performance at Dhirubhai Ambani International School's annual day event has become the talk of the town. For the unversed, during his skit, AbRam struck Shah Rukh's signature open-arms pose. The event was held on Friday in Mumbai.

The video of the same has gone viral on the internet. AbRam Khan is seen in a Medieval-inspired outfit. When he told his fellow performers, “Give me a hug, I love hugs,” and struck the iconic Shah Rukh pose, the tune of 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Jayenge' played in the background. Coming to the professional front, the 57-year-old actor is currently awaiting the release of Dunki. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, it is slated to release on December 21. Along with Khan, the forthcoming flick also stars Taapsee Pannu. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal will be seen playing an important role in the film. Notably, it will be clashing with Prabhas’ Salaar, which is scheduled to release on December 22. Shah Rukh and Prabhas will be clashing for the second time.

Team of actor Sunny Singh’s upcoming neo-noir comic tragedy Risky Romeo wrapped its filming after a marathon shoot of one and a half months in Kolkata, the makers announced on Saturday December 15.

The film is written and directed by Abir Sengupta, who had previously directed Kiara Advani starrer Indoo Ki Jawani and produced Radhika Apte starrer Mrs. Undercover. Risky Romeo, also co-starring Kriti Kharbanda, was announced earlier this year

Actor Sunny Singh said he feels “extremely fulfilled” wrapping up the shoot and credited Risky Romeo for offering him a character that had never come his way before.

Sunny said in a statement, “I usually do not get offered characters like this and only when I started shooting I realised what Abir had seen in me and offered me such a different character. The genre of this film is completely unexplored in our industry and it’s a bold step towards showcasing emotions in a very different way. And the city that Abir has chosen to film Risky Romeo is adding to the magic of the story. I cannot wait for the audiences to experience what we experienced while shooting the film.”

Writer-director Abir Sengupta said the sets of Risky Romeo had a “totally different vibe” thanks to its subject and the treatment. The filmmaker also revealed that the actors in the film will feature in a look which the audience has “never seen before.”

Said Abir, “That is also something I am extremely excited to present to the audiences. I love the way Sunny and Kriti have responded to the kind of treatment I have given to the film and that is really adding up to the madness. While we wrapped the shoot of our film, me and my whole team missed Kriti on the sets as she wrapped her shoot a few days ago. We had a one and half month long shooting schedule in Kolkata where we all became a part of one family working towards a common goal called Risky Romeo.”

Producers Anushree Mehta (Jaadugar Films), Priyanka Mehrotra and Rameshchadra Yadav (PR Motion Pictures) said in a joint statement that while the team was prepping for the shoot, they were anticipating something strikingly different and once the camera started rolling in Kolkata, even they were in for a treat.

“Sunny and Kriti are totally in sync with Abir. He has given the film a very different treatment and we are returning from the shoot as happy producers with some amazing footage in hand. We cannot wait for the audiences to experience and madness and magic that we have created,” they said.

Regrettably, this writer had to convey the worrisome news of actor Shreyas Talpade’s heart attack and angioplasty to his close friend Bobby Deol. Bobby’s first reaction was, “Oh my God!”

A few minutes later, he sent a voice note saying, “I just spoke to his wife. She was really upset. His heart had stopped for about ten minutes, apparently. Now they’ve revived him and done an angioplasty. So just pray that he will be fine. Thank you, Subhash, for letting me know.”

Shreyas is one of the most versatile and underrated actors of Hindi and Marathi cinema.

In an earlier interview, Shreyas said to me, “My career has been adventurous. I come from a normal middleclass family with no film connections. I have auditioned to get my best roles. Luckily for me filmmakers like Subhash Ghai, Nagesh Kukunoor and Farah Khan had faith in me.”

He admitted that he should not have done some of the films that he did. “I also admit I didn’t do some things that I should have. I didn’t market myself well. I was averse to social media. But that’s the need of the hour. It took me some time to accept the marketing reality. I won’t make the same mistakes again. Maybe I will make new mistakes. All my mistakes are mine. I am happy with both the rights or wrongs in my life. John Lever says Duniya gol hai, and so is destiny. Hopefully I will have new challenges and new appreciation in future,” he said.

Shreyas loves the opportunities being provided on the digital domain. “OTT is definitely a blessing for an actor like me. For me, it’s is an extension of the experimental theatre I used to do. That experiment is happening manifold on OTT and there is trigger-audience for it. There are so many stories waiting to be told and performed. Now we have the opportunity. I don’t know whether I am underrated. I am just an actor trying to do my best. But I guess the OTT is like an IPL for us actors. We know there is an audience for what we do, no matter how unconventional,” he said.

At AajTak Agenda, Janhvi Kapoor said, “Mom had only told me that my first film and performance won’t be compared to her first film, it’ll be compared to her last film and she said to me, ‘This kind of pressure I wouldn’t even want my enemy to have.' My sister and I would initially stress a lot, and would get very nervous, overworked with the baggage,” shared Janhvi. But then she took the comparisons in her stride. But then I began to understand I’m being compared to mumma, so that’s the standard! I think that’s what started motivating me.”

Janhvi added, “When I started working on my first film, I was so conscious that I wanted to be completely detached from her because people anyway used to think that I got my first film because I am Sridevi Kapoor’s daughter. I don’t know what different trip I went on, that I will not take any help from my mother. I will act completely differently from my mom’s style of acting. I used to tell her not to come on sets. I used to feel I had an unfair advantage, a trump card. But now I feel I was foolish at that time. Main hoon unki beti, iss sacchai se main bhag nahi sakti (I am her daughter and nothing can change that truth). Now that she is not here, this is my biggest regret.”

In a shocking piece of news, actor Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack today evening. As per a report in Hindustan Times, the actor was shooting for the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle and was fine throughout the shoot. However, the 47-year-old actor started feeling uneasy after he returned home from the shoot and was taken to the Bellevue Hospital. The report also said that he underwent angioplasty after being brought to the hospital.

A source told the publication, “He shot through the day, was absolutely fine and joking around with everyone on the set. He even shot sequences that had a bit of action. After finishing the shoot, he went back home and told his wife that he was feeling uneasy. She rushed him to the hospital but he collapsed on the way.” The publication quoted a staff member from the hospital saying, “Shreyas Talpade is admitted. He was brought late in the evening. His health update is awaited.”

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that Suneel Darshan is all set to make the sequel to his hit love triangle, Andaaz (2003). The shoot began on November 28 and Suneel Darshan confirmed at that point that he’ll be launching three new faces in Andaaz 2. However, he had refused to unveil their identities then.

Suneel Darshan has now, finally, revealed who these three newcomers are. Natasha Fernandez (pictured; on left), Aayush Kumar (pictured; on centre) and Akaisha (on right) will make their starry debuts in Andaaz 2. Natasha Fernandez also featured in Suneel’s last release, Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha (2017), which also starred his son Shiv Darshan. Aayush Kumar had a very small role in Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Dasvi (2022) and Andaaz 2 will serve as his big debut.

Incidentally, with Andaaz as well, the veteran filmmaker launched the acting careers of Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra, who went on to become popular names. The musical also starred Akshay Kumar in the lead.

While Andaaz’s chartbuster songs were composed by Nadeem-Shravan, Andaaz 2 will feature original music by Nadeem of Nadeem-Shravan fame, lyrics by Sameer and choreography by Raju Khan. The Shree Krishna International presentation is written, produced and directed by Suneel Darshan. The film is expected to release in 2024.

Andaaz, directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Suneel Darshan, was a love triangle between a man and two women. The film was a rage, thanks to the songs, youthful appeal, touching moments and sizzling chemistry between the actors. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama in May 2022, Suneel Darshan had said, “Several cinemas wanted to shut down over the course of the (2003 multiplex) strike. We had distributed the film ourselves and I personally called the theatre owners and requested to keep their cinemas going. I assured them that they’d benefit from Andaaz as I had that faith in the product. And thankfully, the film became a rage in the single screens.”

Netflix has become the streaming platform to share comprehensive viewership data and what people are watching on the platform. Kicking off ‘What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report’ which will be released twice a year, the streamer will be unveiling a detailed report of what the viewers have watched in six months. The report covers more than 18,000 titles from around the globe and nearly 100 billion hours viewed. This includes the hours viewed for every title — original and licensed — watched for over 50,000 hours; the premiere date for any Netflix TV series or film; and whether a title was available globally. Amongst those titles are two Indian content – web series Rana Naidu and the movie Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga which have made it to the Top 500 list.

Rana Naidu, starring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, has garnered 46.3 million watch-hours viewership on the platform. On the other hand, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga has 41. 7 million watch hours on the streaming giant.

Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati came together earlier this year as the warring father and son duo in an Indian adaptation of the popular American series, Ray Donovan. Starring Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal, Chor Nikal ke Bhaga is a story about an air hostess and her businessman beau who are on a mission to steal diamonds to free themselves from the clutches of a loan shark. However, the heist goes horribly wrong when the very plane carrying the diamonds is caught up in a hostage situation. With the release of Animal, Bobby Deol is enjoying the film's success. The actor recently revealed that the viral ‘Jamal Kudu’ dance was his idea. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Triptii Dimri and is helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Animal has minted Rs. 434.02 crores at the box office in India.

Speaking to Bollywood Spy about his entry scene in Animal which has taken over the internet by storm, Bobby Deol said, “He (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) had made me listen to the music beforehand. He has got a great sense of music. He has got a great sense of everything about filmmaking. He found the song from somewhere and told me ‘I will play this in your introduction.’”

The actor further said, “When we started shooting, the choreographer said, ‘You do it.’ I was like, ‘What will I do?’ I started dancing and he told me, ‘No, No. Don’t do it like Bobby Deol.’ Then Saurabh, who plays my brother, I told him, ‘Can you do and show? How would you do it?’ Then I suddenly remembered the time when I was small and we used to go to Punjab. I remember how we used to get drunk and keep glasses on our heads. I never understood why we did it. It suddenly came to my mind and I did that. Sandeep liked it.”

Meanwhile, Bobby Deol will next star in the Tamil movie Kanguva. Directed by Siva, Suriya will play six different characters. The case was registered at Narkeldanga police station in Kolkata. The actress was granted bail by the Sealdah court till December 26 on a personal bond of Rs. 30,000.

The arrest warrant stemmed from an alleged cheating case dating back to 2018. The investigating officer had submitted a charge sheet against Zareen Khan before the Sealdah court in Kolkata. During this period, Zareen neither sought bail nor appeared before the court, resulting in the issuance of an arrest warrant due to her repeated absence.

The alleged incident in 2018 stemmed from Zareen Khan's anticipated performance during a Durga Puja celebration in Kolkata. She reportedly failed to make her scheduled appearance, which prompted the organizer to file a formal complaint of cheating against both the actress and her manager. Subsequently, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against the two individuals.

In her defence, Zareen asserted that she found herself misled by the event organizers. According to her account, the organizers had portrayed the event as a high-profile gathering attended by dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Bengal. Khan cited miscommunications regarding the flight arrangements and accommodations that further complicated the situation, contributing to her unexpected absence from the event.

The trailer launch of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan was held at an open-air restaurant-cum-lounge in Mumbai in the presence of actors Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav along with director Arjun Varain Singh. Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Reema Kagti along with Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh of Netflix also made their presence felt. The film deals with the complexities of relationships and the questions asked by the media were also based on this aspect. The first question was asked to Ananya about how one should forget their partner, with whom one was in a situationship for three years.

At this, Ananya Panday replied, “I think situationships are very complicated. It's a good thing that it has ended. Maybe, you can focus on a relationship so that there's more clarity. Sometimes, things end for a reason. Whatever is meant for you, will come to you.”

Later, another journalist asked for tips for coming out of a break-up. Siddhant Chaturvedi raised laughs as he remarked that the journalist, who asked the query, doesn’t require any tips as he’s surrounded by girls! Ananya Panday, on a serious note, suggested, “Don't move on too fast. Just go slow.” Siddhant, still in a mood to joke, quipped, “Listen to sad songs. Arijit Singh hai jab tak, tab tak sambhale hue hai apne aap ko!”

Siddhant Chaturvedi later was asked who he’d like to be featured in a boys' trip film. He took a pause and then answered, “Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor and Lord Bobby!” The last person was a reference to Bobby Deol. He’s the man of the moment thanks to his performance in the recently released blockbuster, Animal. Hence, the mere mention of his name induced hoots from the audience.

Arjun Varain Singh, meanwhile, revealed, “We had a working title which was Friends Ya Followers. We weren't too sure about it and we were looking for other titles. And then Jee Le Zaraa was announced (to be directed by Farhan Akhtar). There was a lot of chatter on the internet (about film titles inspired by the songs of Excel's films). I asked my assistant Malaika to make a list of all the song titles of Excel's movies. We literally went through each one of them and we shortlisted a couple. We realized 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan' perfectly captures what the movie is about. It captures the essence of us being the 'lost' generation. That's what the film is about.”

'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan' was the song from Excel’s 2016 romantic drama, Baar Baar Dekho, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif.

As for the film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, it releases directly on Netflix on December 26.

Dil Chahta Hai, which continues to be one of the most iconic coming-of-age dramas on friendship and love even after two decades, is also very special for Farhan Akhtar. The multi-faceted artist made his directorial debut with this entertaining venture in the year 2001, and the film was known for some emotional and fun sequences that depicted a strong bond between three best friends. One of them was the sequence where Akshaye Khanna, Aamir Khan, and Saif Ali Khan are seen enjoying the sunset from Chapora Fort in Goa.

Now two decades later, Farhan Akhtar recreated a similar sequence on social media. Speaking of Dil Chahta Hai, the film showcased the journey of three college besties, Aakash aka Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan aka Sameer, and Akshaye Khanna aka Sid, who navigated the complexities of friendship and love in their journey to adulthood. The film also starred Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, Dimple Kapadia, Ayub Khan, Rajat Kapoor, among others in key roles. The debate on nepotism, which kick-started years ago on a chat show, continues to be one of the most discussed topics in Bollywood even today. While struggling actors with no filmy background often speak about star kids who are privileged to get an entry into the film industry, the latter has reacted to these comments by adding that they face their own share of struggle in terms of audiences’ expectations and acceptance. Recently, the debate resurfaced when filmmaker Zoya Akhtar launched three star kids, namely Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor in her film The Archies.

Zoya Akhtar recently spoke candidly about the nepotism debate wherein she maintained that having a star kid in her film doesn’t affect or change anybody’s life. In an interview with Juggernaut, she said, "I think it (the debate) is about privilege, access, and social capital. I completely understand having anger or frustration at the fact that you do not have the access some people get so easily. That is a conversation to be had. Everyone needs to have the same kind of education, job opportunities, et al. But when you turn around and say Suhana Khan shouldn’t be in my film, it’s banal because it’s not going to change your life whether she’s in my film or not. You have to talk about what is going to change your life.”

She further went on to assert what she does with her money is her business and not anyone else’s. She continued, “My dad came from nowhere and made a life for himself. I was born and bred in the industry, and I have every right to follow whatever I want to do. As part of his network and what he made, I know those people. What am I going to do, disown my dad because I want to be a filmmaker? Are you saying I can’t choose my profession? It makes no sense. The actual problem is something else, and this is just like beating a dead horse… it’s not going to do anything. If every kid born into the film industry never worked in cinema, it’s still not going to change your life.”

“Nepotism is when I take public money or someone else’s money and favour my friends and family. Nepotism cannot be when I take my own money! Who are you to tell me what to do with my money? It’s my money! If tomorrow I want to spend my money on my niece, it’s my problem. At the end of the day, if a director or an actor gets another job, it is solely on the audiences. Viewers decide if they want to see them or not,” the filmmaker concluded.

The Archies also features non-star kids making their debut which includes Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, and Dot. The film released on Netflix on December 7.

The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal is unstoppable at the box office. In the first week, it collected Rs. 338.63 crores. The way it is trending, it has a high chance of crossing the collections of Gadar 2 (Rs. 525.45 crores), Pathaan (Rs. 543.05 crores) and Jawan (Rs. 643.87 crores). We ask trade experts what they feel about this aspect.

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, said, “The way it’s trending, it is simply phenomenal. I expected it to be strong only for the first three days as reports came in that the second half was weaker than the first half. But the audience has bought into the film. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday collections were huge. On Thursday, it was raining in our area. Yet, it held on strongly. It has gone beyond expectations. “The film has struck a chord. Ab yeh nahin rukne nahin waali. It definitely looks like it’ll cross the Rs. 500 crore mark.”

He further said, “But, the female audience hasn’t come in hordes until now. That is one problem that the film might face. But it is being overcompensated by the repeated viewing of male audiences. The youth has connected with the film, the way they did with KGF - Chapter 2 (2022).”

In other parts of the country, however, the members of the fairer sex have endorsed Animal. Kiritbhai T Vaghasia, who runs The Friday Cinema multiplex in Surat, revealed, “We get a mix of both males and females. In fact, we usually get families and Animal is no exception.”

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, agreed, “Women are coming in huge numbers and are enjoying it. It has cruel scenes and violent action. Yet, people are loving it, including the below-the-belt humour. 3-4 days later, people are craving to watch it again. That’s a huge plus point.”

On this, Vishek Chauhan opined, “If women audiences have accepted the film in other parts of the country, then Rs. 500-550 crore is on. Nobody can stop it. Hopefully, I’ll also get women patrons from the second week.”

Raj Bansal, meanwhile, stated, “It’s too early to say (whether it can cross Gadar 2, Pathaan and Jawan’s collections) but it’ll cross the Rs. 500 crore mark. It’ll all depend on Dunki and Salaar. If god forbid the Christmas releases don’t do well, Animal will be unstoppable until Fighter’s release on January 25, 2024.”

Gujarat factor The state of Gujarat is seen as a conservative one where clean, universal films usually become hits. Hence, the success of Animal has surprised the industry. Kirtibhai exulted, “It is the first ‘A’ rated film to do such huge business in our theatre. The film has a lot of violence, action and sex. I guess the audience today likes these things”

He added, “80% of the patrons have loved it. During the interval, people come out in the F&B area singing praises. Towards the climax, some of them feel a bit dejected. A common complaint is that it’s too long. But nobody has hated the film until now.” Like Vishek Chauhan, he also said, “We felt that it’ll drop from the weekdays. However, it was very strong in the weekdays, even in the morning and afternoon shows.”

Trade guru Komal Nahta explained, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga has made the hero mouth such obscenities that the youngsters and masses have embraced the protagonist. They see him as one of them as that’s how they talk. Today’s youngsters, including girls, discuss their sex lives and talk filth openly. This is the first time ever that an actor has spoken such vulgar lines. Hence, the target audience is getting a kick as they have never experienced while watching a Hindi film before.”

He further said, “The ladies and family audience might be limited. Lekin masses bhar bhar ke aa rahe hai as they found their hero. That far exceeds the loss in terms of restricted family and ladies’ audience.”

Kiritbhai admitted that this is the first adult-rated film that is drawing house-full crowds and even he can’t explain why it’s happening, “Every day, we get 40-50 calls from customers asking whether children are allowed. Most of them are from nuclear families and the kids don’t have grandparents who can take care of them. We categorically inform them that anyone under 18 won’t be allowed entry. By doing so, we lose not 1 but 3 customers – the mother, the father and the child. But that’s not posed a problem as all our shows are going full or near-full.”

He signed off by saying, “We have even kept blockbuster rates over the weekend. Sometimes, customers complain about the prices. But in the case of Animal, people don’t ask for the rates. They simply say ‘2 ticket dena, 3 ticket dena, 5 ticket dena’. No one cares about the prices and this speaks volumes about the excitement Animal has generated!”

With such excitement, it’s a foregone conclusion that Animal’s sequel, Animal Park, will be a blockbuster of epic proportions. Komal Nahta exulted, “I can’t even imagine the earthquake Animal Park will cause. It will be huge.”

Junior Mehmood, a prolific figure in Bollywood, gained recognition for his exceptional talent and captivating performances in more than 250 films. Recalling her proposal, Kiara revealed her proposal story in Rome. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara tied the knot earlier this year. The couple had been dating for a while and even starred together in Shershaah.

“You know when Sid came to that episode (previous season of Koffee With Karan), we’ve just come back from Rome where he proposed to me. My parents weren’t there. It was our first family holiday with me and his family. I had a little bit of inclination that he would propose. I told him ‘You have to speak to my parents’ and he said ‘Are you kidding me?’ I said, ‘Yeah, you first ask them and take their permission, let’s do it like the right way. They will be happy.’ My mom unfortunately had COVID-19 so she couldn’t travel with us. So I went with his parents,” Kiara Advani revealed.

“It did come as a surprise because I did not know where on this trip and also in my head, I was like ‘I hope he does propose’ because now I’ve built it up and if he doesn’t propose on this trip but he did it. So it was the first destination we went to on that trip. He took us to this Michelin star restaurant and his nephew was with us who was supposed to take the photos and capture the moment,” she added.

“I’m sleepy because I have just landed and joined them on this trip. So, I was really tired and he had planned the works. He has done this candlelight dinner on top. We go back after dinner. He takes me up for a walk and suddenly a violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his nephew taking our video from the bushes and Sid goes on one knee and proposes. I was so overwhelmed. Then he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He’s like, ‘Dilli ka seedha sadha launda hoon (I’m a simple boy from Delhi) with the full dialogues of Shershaah and I burst out laughing,” she said.

The latest episode of Koffee with Karan brings together the dynamic duo, Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal, who were last seen together in Govinda Naam Mera. During the chat, Vicky talked about his special appearance in Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan and helmed by Rajkumar Hirani.

While Vicky has remained tight-lipped about his special appearance in Dunki, he opened up about it on the latest episode. Recalling a moment on set, Vicky said, “In one of the shoot days, he had to rush to Delhi for a very important work and it couldn’t have happened at another time and another date. It was a very critical moment for my character in the film and it was with him. He just couldn’t be there for that shot and I had to give that shot with a body double. He got done with his work in Delhi and then he called me late in the night which I missed because there was an event.”

He continued, “He then sent me a long message saying, ‘Vicky, woh shot hum dobaara karenge. I’m really sorry that I couldn’t be there to give the cues.’ I had to call him and convince him that it went okay and Raju sir is happy with the shot. I was also nervous if I could pull off that shot again. But he insisted we do it because he was feeling terrible about not being able to give his shoulder in the shot. The next day he came on set and saw those shots and only after he was happy with them did he decide that we don’t need to reshoot them.”

This left Vicky mesmerized. “When I meet him, I realise how little I’m doing at this age. He just gives his hundred percent. If he’s talking to you, hundred percent of his being is talking to you. He’s just something else,” he said.

It was the much anticipated night for the Khan family as Suhana Khan makes her debut this week with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. At the grand premiere of the film on Tuesday, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Aryan Khan, AbRam Khan and Gauri’s mother were in attendance to support Suhana.

In a recent interview, choreographer Ganesh Hegde said that Suhana is as hard-working as her superstar father Shah Rukh Khan. He told Hindustan Times, “I told Shah Rukh also that she (Suhana Khan) is so much like you. She’ll never give up, keep rehearsing. Even when I tell her, bas ab thodi der ruk jao (Take a break now), she’ll keep doing it because she’s very clear that she wants to nail every step with perfection. There’s a lot of similarity between her and Shah Rukh because both are so hardworking and disciplined. I never used to compliment her because I knew she had a level she wanted to achieve.”

The film is an Indian adaptation of a Global IP, the iconic Archies Comics. The Archies, set in the 1960s in an Anglo-Indian community based in the fictional hill station town called Riverdale is a coming-of-age story that follows the lives of the town’s favourite set of teenagers- Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. The film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion.

The actor revealed her decision on Instagram, where she posted a screenshot before removing the application from her phone.

Expressing her reasons for leaving the platform, Kalki Koechlin laid bare the toxic atmosphere that had permeated her online experience. In her Instagram post, she conveyed her frustration with the barrage of hate, disinformation, and the overwhelming sense of helplessness that came with incessant scrolling through troubling content. However, what truly prompted Kalki to draw a definitive line and sever ties with Twitter was the disturbing content related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. The actor articulated her stance, saying, “Had to do this today. The hate and disinformation, the doom scrolling, the helplessness. But what really crossed the line for me, what really made me draw a boundary was the denial or the justification of Palestinian children murdered in the thousands or the denial or glorification of Israeli women being raped, tortured and murdered. I have had enough.”

Bollywood actor Salman Khan was in attendance at the opening ceremony of the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) that began at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at the event. During his speech at the ceremony, Salman Khan said that he felt small after visiting Mamata Banerjee's house and that it was smaller than his residence in Mumbai.

Speaking at the ceremony, Salman said, “When I was invited by Didi to her house, my only thing was, ‘I really want to see if her house is actually that small.’ Is it smaller than my house or not? One day, Anil Kapoor called me to his home. He said, ‘Let’s go to the first floor.’ But there were also four other floors. I think now it has become even bigger. I asked him if he had called me to make me feel jealous of his house. Coming back to Didi, I am jealous that her house is actually smaller than mine.”

He added, “When Shatru sahab (Shatrughan Sinha) comes to my house, he has a big problem that he doesn’t find space to sit. I have one room, one small kitchen and a bedroom, which is very important because we can’t sleep while standing. I am jealous of the fact that how can somebody (Mamata Banerjee), who is in such a position, have a house that is smaller than mine. I don’t wish for a smaller house but she has given me a big complex. It only shows how simple people are and we don’t need that much.”

Veteran television actor Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his portrayal of Inspector Fredericks in longest running TV crime show CID, has passed away at age 57. The actor was on a ventilator and undergoing treatment at Tunga Hospital in Mumbai. The actor succumbed to multiple organ failure and his death news was confirmed by his CID co-star Dayanand Shetty.

Confirming the tragic news to Indian Express, Dayanand Shetty said, “Dinesh breathed his last at 12.08 am. There were a lot of complications and he was removed from the ventilator last night.” The actor’s funeral took place at 10:30 am in Mumbai.

For the unversed, Dinesh Phadnis was an integral part of the TV show CID, which aired from 1998 to 2018 on Sony TV. He became a recognizable face among the show's viewers after starring as Inspector Fredericks. The actor also went on to star in the longest-running Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, in June this year, announced the fifth installment of his hit comedy franchise Housefull. The film is helmed by Tarun Mansukhani and was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on the occasion of Diwali 2024. It is the first comic franchise in India to have a fifth installment. Now, Akshay has confirmed that the film is moving to 2025 and will release on June 6.

Akshay Kumar on Monday, December 4, shared the official announcement from Sajid Nadiadwala which read, "The Houseful! franchise owes its massive success to the audiences, and we hope for a similar reception for Housefull 5. The team has crafted an absolutely mind-blowing story that demands top-notch VFX. Therefore, we've decided to push the release to ensure we deliver five times the entertainment with great cinematic experience. Housefull 5 will now be releasing on 6th June, 2025."

The first part of Housefull was released in the year 2010 and starred Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani. It has been almost 14 years since Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots released, but the film is still fresh in audience’s minds. Although it starred Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor Khan, it is also fondly remembered for Omi Vaidya’s act as Chatur Ramalingam aka Silencer. In fact, he became an overnight sensation after the film’s release.

Omi is now all set to star as the lead in the upcoming Marathi movie Aaichya Gavat Marathit Bol. This will be his debut film in his mother tongue. But that’s not all. The bigger news is that he will also turning director with this movie, which is a light-hearted entertainer.

As per an official press release by the makers, the film will see Omi play Samar, an NRI (Non Resident Indian) from America, who visits India to get married but gets involved in unexpected twists and turns. Filmmaker Karan Johar was felicitated with the Variety International Vanguard Director Award at the ongoing Red Sea Film Festival 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Following Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Ananya Panday, the filmmaker was in attendance at the ongoing festival where he received the prestigious honour.

Taking to Instagram, Karan Johar penned a heartfelt note upon receiving the honour and wrote, “As we draw closer to the end of the year, I feel an extreme sense of gratitude. Today, the honour of the Variety International Vanguard Director Award was presented to me - and I felt an indelible sense of pride, joy & assurance. Pride because I get to represent my country on a global level. Joy because I get to make stories, from the director & producer’s chair that the world sees and celebrates. And assurance that the best is indeed, yet to come. On the work front, Karan Johar last directed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Dunki Drop 3 'Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se' from Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki has indeed arrived as an absolutely heartwarming treat. Unveiled on Friday, the song weaves a captivating narrative, adding another layer of emotion to an endearing film that narrates a heart-warming tale of four friends and their quest to reach foreign shores. While the song brings along the collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Sonu Nigam after a long time, the composition by Pritam on the magical lyrics of Javed Akhtar indeed makes it special.

Javed Akhtar, who has collaborated with SRK on numerous hit songs, is back with him in Dunki Drop 3 - 'Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se'. When asked about reuniting with SRK for Dunki, Javed Akhtar shared an intriguing story about the song, He revealed, "In this film, I have only one song and Interestingly, Raju Hirani played a pivotal role in ensuring that we included this song, and he specifically requested me to write it. I hope you will enjoy the song, as it is unique due to its distinct situation. Typically, I write the lyrics after the tune is composed, but Pritam generously suggested that I write the song first, and he would compose the music accordingly, and he did a fantastic and brilliant job with it.

Dunki features an ensemble cast, with colourful characters portrayed by exceptionally talented actors Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, along with Shah Rukh Khan. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri, has been released in theatres. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the ‘A’ rated violent crime saga collected Rs. 63.80 crores on its opening day. Like many celebrities, Arjun Kapoor is heaping praises for Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep, Anil and more.

In one of the news updates, veteran actor and filmmaker Junior Mehmood has been reportedly battling stomach cancer and is in dire condition. As per a report in Amar Ujala, his condition has worsened. In the latest video, actor and comedy legend Johnny Lever went to his residence to meet the ailing veteran actor.

As per the report in the Hindi publication, the actor will undergo an operation to remove the tumour from his stomach. In the video, Johnny Lever was motivating him during his conversation as Junior Mehmood was lying on the bed and looking visibly weak. Amar Ujala spoke to Salaam Qazi, who considers Mehmood as his brother, who said, “Junior Mehmood has tumour in his stomach. His blood pressure and sugar level had increased significantly due to which his weight has reduced by 20 kg. But he is already feeling healthy and is talking well to those who come to meet him.”

Junior Mehmood, whose real name is Naeem Sayyed, worked in movies as a child artist followed by which he went onto direct Marathi films. He acted as a child star and went onto to feature as many as 265 films. He is best remembered for his performances in Brahmachari (1968), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Parvarish (1977), and Do Aur Do Paanch (1980).
