Two of the biggest stars of our country, Hrithik Roshan & NTR Jr. are coming together for a brutal, epic showdown in War 2. The film, which is a part of Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe, is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and is expected to start its shooting schedule in November this year!

A trade source says, “Get set for the biggest theatrical experience when Hrithik Roshan takes on NTR Jr. in War 2. The film is being mounted on a scale that has never been attempted before in India. Aditya Chopra and Ayan are clear that they want to make it a spectacle and a global cinematic moment for India. Pre-production is in full swing for this action extravaganza that starts its shooting schedule in November.”

The source adds, “War 2 is a huge pan India movie right now, given the casting coup by Aditya Chopra to get NTR Jr. in this film. The YRF Spy Universe is expanding at a rate that is unimaginable and all the films of this universe are now the biggest event films for audiences to enjoy in theatres.”

The team of the upcoming American TV series, Citadel, was busy promoting the series in India. The India premiere of the show in India was attended by the who’s who of the B-Town, including Varun Dhawan, who is also going to be part of the Hindi version of the show. The series also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

As confirmed the makers are slowly finalising the other cast for the Hindi version and Sikandar Kher is the latest addition to the cast. The show is going to be directed by the hit filmmaker duo Raj and DK.

A source close to the production team says, ‘Sikandar Kher is the latest addition to the cast of the Hindi version of Citadel. He even attended the India premiere of the American version that happened in Mumbai. Citadel is anticipated to be one of the biggest shows of the season. This will be the first time that Sikandar will be working with Raj and DK.”

The Hindi version will have Varun Dhawan in the lead. The show will also see Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing the part which was originally played by Priyanka Chopra. Director Farhad Samji has been on a roll. Last year, he directed Akshay Kumar in the big-budget action entertainer, Bachchhan Paandey (2022). This year, the much-awaited Salman Khan’s film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, has been directed by him. And soon, he’ll direct Akshay Kumar along with Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty in the next installment of Hera Pheri. In the past, he has directed Akshay Kumar in Housefull 4 (2019) and also in Housefull 3 (2016) and Its Entertainment (2014). In other words, he has always worked with some of the biggest names in the capacity of a director. The trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was launched today at a grand event at a multiplex in Mumbai. When Farhad was given the mic, he made a massy statement. He said, “Directors ko superstars’ bhagya se milte hai. Lekin Salman Khan saubhagya se milte hai!” As expected, the media persons broke into applause. Salman Khan, who was also present at the event, took a dig at this statement. The superstar, who was in a very fun mood, said, “God forbid agar film nahin chali, toh yeh bolenge, 'Yeh aadmi meri sunta nahin tha. Original script abhi bhi mere paas padi hai! Bill mere pe fatega!’”. Farhad Samji then on a serious note said, “Excitement is the perfect word. The industry is abuzz with reports of a fallout between Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji and Dharma Productions. Just last week Ayan Mukerji took to social media to announce the release of Brahmastra Part 2 and Brahmastra Part 3. Interestingly, Karan Johar and his production house were nowhere in the picture. In fact, Ayan did not tag or even mention them. Not surprisingly, Mukerji’s failure to allude to Karan and his production house has set the rumour mills churning. One such news that has been doing the rounds is the report that Ayan is contemplating working on the second and third part of Brahmastra with a different banner. Commenting on the same a well-placed industry source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Ayan’s failure to mention Karan Johar has not gone down too well. More than incensed about the omission the filmmaker is heart-broken that Mukerji has decided on taking such a drastic step of announcing the sequel without any discussion or keeping him in the loop.” Ask the source to further clarify what exactly has transpired and he continues, “Karan has been more than gracious to let Ayan run with the concept of Brahmastra. He let the director take his time, which resulted in the film being under production for eight years! Besides this, Karan also ensured that though Brahmastra Part 1 went over budget, the release of the film was not affected. Instead, Karan put much more effort into marketing and promoting the venture. Now, the situation is such that Ayan has announced the sequel leaving Karan out when it was thanks to the latter that the film was made in the first place.” Being left out of the equation of Brahmastra 2 and 3 has certainly hurt Karan, though the filmmaker prefers to maintain a dignified silence. Reports are that Ayan, who holds the intellectual property rights, has apparently begun talks with other production banners one of which has expressed interest in headlining both ventures. If that was not enough, another rumour floating around is that Ayan Mukerji has retained the IP rights of the Brahmastra franchise, instead of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This rumour has found more fodder considering the fact that Ayan has begun approaching other banners for the next instalments, legitimizing his claim over the franchise IP. Reveals the source, “Karan invested a lot of time and money in getting things right with Brahmastra Part 1. Karan Johar explained in interviews that the investment made in Brahmastra is an investment made in the franchise and not just the one film, so the business of the first film cannot be looked at in isolation. But with this new development, how does Ayan plan to return the investment made by Dharma if he takes the sequel to another producer remains to be seen. Now, with Ayan opting to walk away, it looks like the filmmaker took advantage of Karan’s magnanimous nature to execute what he wanted. This has become another sore point for Karan who has treated the Brahmastra franchise and even Ayan as his own all this while.” Not stopping there, the source highlights yet another fact that can stress relationships, “Brahmastra featured Alia Bhatt. Obviously, she will also feature in the second and third instalment of the franchise. Jishan Ali Thobani, who got his big Bollywood break with Disney+Hotstar’s Pop Kaun, couldn’t be more grateful about receiving this opportunity and has nothing but praises for his filmmaker Farhad Samji, the creator of the show. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Jishan not only opened up about bagging this break and how he came across this opportunity. The song in question, 'Saiyan Tore Bhan Gaye Hain Bhaiyya Tore' from the show Pop Kaun, where we see Jamie Lever breaking a shocking news that brings a wedding to a standstill is quirky and so is the song. We wondered if it was difficult for the first-time music director to work on such a funny number that is also a crucial part of the story and he said, “When Farhad Bhai narrated the story, I choose this song and wanted to keep it funny. In fact, I had done this meeting with him and within 2 hours I was ready with the song.” Talking about the lyrics, Jishan also mentioned how he made quirky references to ‘honeymoon’ and even took inspiration from the popular song about brotherhood, ‘Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka’ (Hare Rama Hare Krishna). Further, the singer went on to express his immense gratitude towards filmmaker Farhad saying, “I really want to thank Farhad Bhai for giving me this opportunity. We have always seen that in this industry, people often lose their lives waiting for an opportunity. I am able to make my way into Bollywood, from the world of advertisement and it is mainly because Farhad came and told me, ‘Jishan let’s work together’. I will always be grateful to him for this.” He went on to reveal that this opportunity that he received was actually a ‘surprise’ from Farhad, as he did not know that his song was selected for the web-series Pop Kaun. “I heard the story from Farhad Bhai and then I pointed out that there is an interesting situation here. And he agreed and asked if I can do something. I said ‘okay’, went home and wrote about it and sent it to him. He asked me to send a voice-note and I did. Later, I completely forgot about it and continued with my routine. Two months later, I got a call from someone asking me for KYC details. I really got nervous, so I called them back. She informed me that she is from Farhad Bhai’s office and that she needs to make a payment to me.” He continued, “I was surprised to say the least. She also mentioned that I am getting paid because I have composed music for a song in Pop Kaun. And my surprise and happiness knew no bounds. I immediately called Farhad Bhai and asked, “Yeh kya ho raha hai (What’s happening). He laughed and told me ‘it’s a surprise’. And I answered, ‘Bollywood ka pehla break surprise kaun deta hai (Who gives their first Bollywood break as a surprise)’. I started crying. The most important process after all, is the selection. So in my case, my song got selected and I directly received a call for signing the contract. I couldn’t think of anything else and I automatically started crying.” Further talking about audience’s acceptance, Jishan added, “When I created this song, Farhad took to social media to share a glimpse of it adding that it was an apt song for the situation. Bobby Deol made a rollicking entry in Bollywood in the 1990s and then acquired fame through successful films like Barsaat, Gupt, Soldier, etc. However, years later, his career didn’t go the way he or his fans would have expected. In a chat with Hindustan Times, Bobby looked back at the down phase of his life. He said, “I knew that if I fall, my parents will always be the cushion. But the fall hurts no matter how much cushion they gave me. As an individual guy, I had to stand up. No one can make or break you. Stardom doesn’t last too long. I was a star once, and it died, it vanished. No one took me seriously as an actor. I knew I had the potential, and the capabilities but nobody had given me an opportunity. I had chosen work which didn’t work for me, so things went the other way around. So, I tried working on that and worked on myself as an actor.” Bobby added that he realized that there is a time when people would want you, but you will also go through the opposite. The actor went through it and gave up once. “I fought back, and I realised that I have to make them (people) want me. How do I do that? By being a positive energy. Everyone needs to try to keep that positive energy. It is very difficult to do that. (But) I have been through it. There are weak moments in a day itself. I’m feeling absolutely happy, then during the middle of the day I feel weak and then at night, I’m happy. With Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s name linked to the Sukesh Chandrashekhar money laundering case, it needs no introduction. However, in case you don’t know, Chandrashekhar was arrested in August last yar for carrying out a Rs 200 crore con. Besides this, his affair with Jacqueline also made headlines on various occasions. According to a report by NDTV, Sukesh’s lawyer Anant Malik released a letter, written by the conman for Jacqueline Fernandez. “It's one of your favourite festivals of the year and your love for Easter eggs. I miss having those with you. I miss seeing that pretty child in you breaking the egg and having the candies inside them,” read the letter. He further talked about thinking about the actress while watching her "Lux Cozy" advertisement. He added, “Do you have any idea how pretty and beautiful you are, my baby. There is no one as pretty as you on this planet. My bunny rabbit, I love you, my baby.” The report further quoted the letter, “There is not a moment I don't think about you and I know it's the same with you too, as I know what is in the most beautiful heart of yours, my honey bee.” While referring to the popular song from the 1994 film, Criminal, he said, "I also was thinking a lot about you when I was hearing to the new version of ‘Tu Mile Dil Khile, Aur Jeene Ko Kya Chahiye’.” The report concluded the latter with, “Love you my baby not just love, but, Veri Thanam love, my Jacky Bomma.” Sukesh is currently lodged in Delhi's Mandoli jail. He is accused of cheating and extorting money from the wife of the former promoter of Religare Enterprises Shivinder Mohan Singh, who was arrested in a case related to the alleged misappropriation of funds. Priyanka Chopra Jonas' daughter Malti Marie has just completed her first-ever trip to India, and the family is elated about the experience. For the unversed, last month, Priyanka travelled to India with her husband-singer Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Filmmaker Kabir Khan has given some memorable films in his career so far, including Kabul Express, New York, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 83. The filmmaker is married to the actress and television presenter Mini Mathur. In a recent conversation, Kabir said that despite he and Mini being from different religious backgrounds, it never became an obstacle in their marriage. Speaking with Humans of Bombay, Kabir said, “Mini comes from a very traditional Mathur family. Religion was never really an issue and initially, Mini thought that there will be an issue in trying to convince her extended family but it’s just so beautiful how they all accepted me.” During the initial phase of his career, Kabir used to make war documentaries in war-torn regions like Afghanistan, Palestine, etc. But he always used to make it a point to send letters and postcards to Mini Mathur. He said that this used to impress her father. Sharing more about his marriage, Kabir added, “We had a wedding, did rituals from both sides, more for the families than for us. I am actually an atheist, so I don’t really truly believe in God and religion, so it was very easy for me to sort of accept all that.” On the work front, Kabir’s last outing 83 was based on India’s victory in the 1983 cricket world cup. The film starred Ranveer Singh in the role of India’s former captain and all-rounder Kapil Dev while Deepika Padukone played his wife Romi. Homi Adajania and Dimple Kapadia go back a long way. She was the leading lady of his directorial debut Being Cyrus in 2006 and she subsequently starred in all the films he directed. For the unversed, RHTDM showcased Maddy (R Madhavan) who pretends to be someone else to woo a girl named Reena (Dia) who is intended to marry Sam (Saif Ali Khan). The film has often come under the radar on social media as many of the Gen Z users have criticised it for overlooking the ‘stalker’ trait of Maddy in the name of love.  In an interview with Outlook India, Dia Mirza opened up about how she would have reacted if Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM) was offered to her today. She said, “If I was offered that film (today), I would question certain aspects of the film and hope that the writers would change it. I internalized some aspects of that film and realized that had to do with the right propagation of love. I am strongly against stalking. I think it is a terrible thing to do. Not only does Maddy's character stalk Reena, but he also lies to her. Of course, she breaks off the relationship with him once she discovers the truth only to then realize that he is remorseful and genuinely loves and cares for her.” She went on to add, “But there is no justification in this world for stalking, lying is bad, and stalking is worse. I know that some films have been made in the recent past that had similar scenes that have done exceptionally well at the box-office. I guess as a society we don’t perceive stalking as a bad thing. Kareena Kapoor Khan recently released a short episode of What Women Want wherein she is seen interacting with her fans, and answering their questions. While some of the fans were keen on knowing her beauty secrets, one of them quizzed her about her Hindi skills and asked, “You make too many mistakes in Hindi but in the movies, you speak your dialogues correctly. So weird!” Responding to it, Khan added, “Why is it weird? Because in films, we get time to memorize our dialogues, and here the director hardly gives any time, or maybe I don’t give her much time." Yet another question involved the fans quizzing her about the guests on the show, who are often her friends or family. The question was, “You often call your friends and family on the show. Other celebrities don’t want to come or you don’t want to call them?” Answering them, Kareena added, “You all are extremely interested in my friends and family. The Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) Spy Universe has arguably become the biggest franchise of Bollywood. It all began with Ek Tha Tiger (2012), starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Its success prompted Aditya Chopra to make its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), featuring the same actors as in the first part. This was followed by War (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. Pathaan, which was released recently, also belongs to this universe. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and was directed by War director Siddharth Anand. Interestingly, this was the first film in the universe where a crossover truly happened. Tiger, played by Salman Khan, made a rocking 15-minute appearance in the second half of Pathaan and took the madness to another level. Now, YRF is geared up to release the next film of the Spy Universe, Tiger 3. It stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi and will arrive in cinemas on Diwali 2023. This film will feature Shah Rukh Khan reprising his role of Pathaan, albeit in a special appearance. Seeing SRK and Salman together prompted fans to demand a film where both have leading roles. And soon enough, it came to light that a film titled Tiger vs Pathaan is in the offing. As per the latest development, even this biggie will be directed by Siddharth Anand. Meanwhile, a few days ago, it came to light that War 2 is also in the offing. The same day, Ayan Mukerji confirmed his association with this film as the director. The next day, news came in that South star Jr NTR, who made waves worldwide with RRR (2022), will be the second lead in the film besides Hrithik Roshan. Though Tiger vs Pathaan was announced before War 2, the latter will release first. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “All the stories are interconnected. War 2 will follow the events of Tiger 3. Tiger vs Pathaan, meanwhile, will begin from where War 2 ends.” When asked about the release plans, the source said, “War 2 is expected to go on floors this year once Siddharth Anand is done with Fighter, his Republic Day 2024 release. Bollywood star Salman Khan on Wednesday was in attendance at the press conference of the 68th Filmfare Awards 2023 where he took a jibe at the young actors. The actor said that the five stars of the industry, including him, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan, can give the young actors a run for their money. At the press conference, Salman Khan was asked who amongst the new lot of stars has impressed him. The Allu Arjun blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 took the box office by storm. Titled Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2, the sequel is now being written, or we shall re-written, as the screenplay for both part 1 and part 2 was completed simultaneously. But here is the update. The screenplay now being finalized by director Sukumar has been modified to include one major Bollywood A-lister, preferably one of the Khans, or Ajay Devgan, if not somebody else. The sequel would not only have far superior production values than the first film, its budget is also almost twice than what it was for the first film. Zeenat Aman posted a beautiful message and two old photos on her Instagram account in honour of Parveen Babi's birthday. The seasoned star discussed their amazing resemblance and how, in the 1970s, they were frequently compared to one another. On Tuesday, Zeenat took to Instagram and shared two throwback pictures featuring her and Parveen Babi. Sharing the pictures, she wrote in caption, “I’d like to remember and honour Parveen today, on her birthday.” Zeenat wrote how people used to find resemblance between Parveen and her. She said, “Parveen was gorgeous, glamorous and talented. Back in the 70s, we wore our hair in a similar manner and enjoyed Western fashion. Though neither of us saw it, we were told we had an uncanny resemblance. It must have been true, because as recently as last year I was approached in Dubai as “Parveen ma’am””. Talking about their equation, she further wrote, “Naturally the media at the time spun tales of competition and rivalry between us, but in reality we were always warm towards each other. Not best friends, but contemporaries, colleagues and well-wishers. We worked together on Ashanti and Mahaan.” Zeenat also spoke about the struggle Parveen faced when she was alive. “Parveen’s struggle with mental health illness came at a time when the country was still so insensitive and ignorant on these matters. After her death, I often ruminated on how she was remembered. The tabloids focused on her romantic relationships and “episodes”, but Parveen was much more than who she dated or what she said when she was unwell. I feel she never truly got the chance to say her piece,” Zeenat added. Lauding Parveen, Zeenat wrote, “She was intelligent and hardworking and creative. She loved reading, and I remember her curled up with a book in between shots on set. She achieved incredible success as an actor, even featuring on the cover of Time magazine. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was in attendance at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre’s grand launch on both days, March 31 and April 1. The ambitious spy universe of YRF is all set to get pan India in terms of casting. As per current reports, joining the world would be none other than RRR fame Jr NTR. The actor is expected to cast alongside Hrithik Roshan in War 2. While readers would be aware that the sequel to the action entertainer has always been on the cards, it seems that Aditya Chopra has now decided to tap into the South market and has decided to add some renowned names from the film industry to add to the Pan India appeal. The star-studded cast of Citadel, an upcoming international spy drama on Amazon Video, travelled to Mumbai for the momentous Asia Pacific premiere. The action-packed series' star cast, including Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, attended the press conference of Citadel that was held at a five-star hotel in central Mumbai. The makers plan to make it into a global franchise and even have local instalments in several countries. An Indian version of the show is currently in production. It features Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is helmed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, of The Family Man and Farzi fame. At the press conference of the show Citadel, Priyanka Chopra Jonas was asked whether she had any advice for her two fellow Indian spies (Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu) who are a part of Citadel universe and are shooting the series currently. Priyanka responded to it saying, “I don't think I can give them any advice. They are both such accomplished actors in their own ways. There is nothing I can say.” Opening up on her interaction with Varun Dhawan, Priyanka asserted, “I met Varun recently at the NMACC event and he was telling me how the shoot is going and how exciting it is. There are some really cool threads that connect our instalments. So, we were talking about those. Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva starring Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Alia Bhatt released in the theatres on September 9, 2022. While the visual spectacle collected Rs. 257.44 cr in India, the film is the first installment in the Ayan Mukerji-directed trilogy. Mukerji has now announced that the film will be shot simultaneously and will release in 2026 and 2027. The magnum opus continues with Brahmāstra Part Two: Dev and Brahmāstra Part: Three are set to hit the big screen in December 2026 and 2027 respectively! On Tuesday, April 4, Ayan Mukerji confirmed that Brahmastra 2 and 3 will release in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
