Pakistani singer Ali Sethi, who garnered global popularity with his song ‘Pasoori’, made headlines in the last couple of days over his rumoured marriage to Pakistani-American painter Salman Toor. Social media was abuzz that the singer got married in an intimate ceremony to the artist in New York in the presence of close people. However, Sethi has now rubbished those reports and claimed that he has no idea who started the rumours.

On Saturday morning, Sethi took to his Instagram stories and clarified that he is not married. “I am not married, I don’t know who started the rumour," he wrote. For years, Sethi has been linked to Toor but they have never confirmed their relationship.

Earlier in 2023, when Ali Sethi performed at Coachella, the singer was labelled as queer by the publication. In that interview, he said, “I think what I’ve always been trying to do is find this place of reconciliation. Because growing up I was told ‘You’re either this or that.’ I just rejected that.”

Reportedly, Sethi and Toor met in an art class at Aitchison College in Lahore and have remained friends for several years. “He (Salman Toor) was the most vulnerable one, because he didn’t have any defense mechanisms. I was the tallest person in the class, I was a teacher-pleaser, but Salman was guileless. When boys made fun of him, he couldn’t fight back,” Sethi told The New Yorker in 2022.

On the work front, Ali Sethi, back in June 2023, gave the rights of his song ‘Pasoori’ to the makers of Satyaprem Ki Katha for the recreation ‘Pasoori Nu’. The Pakistani Punjabi song was crooned by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill for Coke Studio Pakistan. The new version has been sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music is by Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi. The lyrics of the song are by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi.

Ali Sethi had a tremendous 2022 following ‘Pasoori’ with Shae Gill, which led them to unprecedented stardom. The song was the most searched song of 2022 on Google. He has several hits under his belt including ‘Ranjish Hi Sahi’, ‘Chan Kithan’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Chandni Raat’ among others. He recently released his new EP ‘Paniya’. Veteran actress and former Member of Parliament Jaya Prada has been sentenced to six months in prison and has been fined Rs. 5000 in the ESI funds case by a Chennai court. The actress was reportedly found guilty of failing to pay Employees' State Insurance funds for theatrical business in Chennai’s commercial hub. Reports further reveal that her colleagues Ram Kumar and Raja Babu were also found guilty in the same case.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Jaya Prada owned a theatre in Chennai which eventually was shut down. The workers at the theatre had reported that the actress had not paid ESI funds to the workers and it was deducted from the salaries of the employees. It was alleged by them that the funds were not paid to the Government Insurance Corporation.

Then, a complaint was filed by the Labour Government Insurance Corporation against Jaya Prada and her associates at the Egmore Magistrate Court in Chennai. Though Jaya Prada promised to clear the pending dues and wanted the dismissal of the case, the court did not adhere to the request.

Jaya Prada remained one of the top actresses in the country and was at her peak in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Upon quitting the industry, she became a Rajya Sabha MP and a Lok Sabha MP. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 released in theatres on August 11, 2023. The film also stars Utkarsh Sharma as their son. While the movie has opened to mixed reviews, the audiences are enjoying the nostalgia. So much so that the film reportedly will open at Rs. 40 crore at the box office. And congratulating him on this massive feat is none other than Salman Khan.

The craze for Gadar 2 has taken the trade and industry by surprise. The sequel was expected to take a huge opening. But no one expected that it will have chances of opening at Rs. 35 crores or even Rs. 40 crores. The demand for the film is tremendous; not just the aam junta but even the first citizen of India desires to watch Gadar 2.

Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that the Honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, has expressed her wish to watch Gadar 2. The screening will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi on Sunday, August 13. The lead actors of the film, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma along with director Anil Sharma and Zee Studios team are expected to be present at this coveted screening.

Gadar 2 is the sequel to Gadar – Ek Prem Katha (2001). It also starred Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma along with Amrish Puri. The action entertainer cum musical emerged as the biggest hit of Indian cinema and broke several records.

Two months ago, Zee Studios re-released Gadar – Ek Prem Katha in cinemas and it got a decent response, which had made it clear that the sequel will be huge. The trailer of Gadar 2, meanwhile, met expectations and the shot of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) setting his sights on the hand pump was loved by the viewers. It is said that this single shot enhanced the hype for the film by many notches.

Actor Sanjay Dutt wished his eldest daughter Trishala Dutt on her birthday recently by penning a sweet note. The actor called her ‘shining star’ and shared a slew of photos with her.

Actor Imran Khan, who made his debut with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, has confirmed that he's working on his comeback in Bollywood. This comes days after he had asked if people wanted to see him back on the screen. The actor stepped away from films after the 2015 movie Katti Batti.

In a rare Instagram post, he wrote on Threads, “To whom it may concern; I hear you. And I'm working on it. Thank you for being so patient with me.”

Previously, a fan commented on Zeenat Aman's Instagram post on her new brand commercial. We informed our readers before anyone else that Vicky Kaushal has decided to step out of Singham Again due to date conflicts with the Laxman Uttekar directed Chhava. And now, we are bringing to you another exclusive piece of news on Singham Again.

According to our highly placed sources, Deepika Padukone will be seen playing a key role in Singham Again. "Deepika Padukone is all excited for Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. She will be playing the first female cop of the Rohit Shetty Universe and has already started prep work for this action-packed part. Deepika's character is more along the lines of a Lady Singham and has the arc of being Ajay Devgn's sister in the film," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source further added that the female cop in Rohit's universe belongs to Singham's family, as he wants to establish Singham and the people around him as the most patriotic, and willing to serve the nation. "It's a well-written role and more than just a cameo. It's more like a proper extended appearance for Deepika in Singham and she will be shooting for around 35 to 40 days," the source further told us.

Singham Again will also star Tiger Shroff making a cameo. With Singham, he will be making an entry into Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe and the film will lead eventually to a solo cop film with him. Singham Again goes on floors in September and is slated to hit the big screen in August 2024.

While fans of Atlee are eagerly anticipating the release of the much talked about Jawan, starring megastar Shah Rukh Khan along with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, director of the film Atlee is expected to have moved on to his next project, featuring Varun Dhawan. In an earlier report by Pinkvilla, a source was quoted about the film going on floors, wherein it was said, “Varun will be shooting for the film’s promo in Mumbai and will be combining the schedule with a few important sequence shoots as well. The preparation is going on in full swing, while the makers are also simultaneously working on the plan to officially announce the movie with the promo. It will be an entertaining promo packed with action and drama and will feature VD in a never seen before avatar.”

Less than 24 hours are remaining for the release of Gadar 2 and OMG 2 and shockingly, the show-sharing issues are yet to be resolved fully. Usually, such fights have taken place even in the past. But this time, an unusual scenario has emerged as in different circuits, the distributors of each film are different.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “To begin with, it’s a three-way clash of sorts as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is also doing well in urban areas and in Bengal. It’s a film by Viacom18 who has also backed OMG 2.”

The source added, “In circuits like Rajasthan, CP, CI, Delhi and Bengal, where Viacom18 don’t have their own office, they have asked PVR Pictures to distribute OMG 2. It is said that this decision was taken so that their film can get more shows in front of a tsunami like Gadar 2. However, what they didn’t anticipate is that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will remain strong in certain pockets for so long.”

The source revealed, “In West Bengal, Karan Johar’s romantic drama is doing very well due to the Bengali flavour. Sharing shows among these films has proved to be a nightmare. And that’s not all. 2 big Bengali films, Byomkesh O Durgo Rahosyo and Cheeni 2, are up for release on August 11, along with Gadar 2 and OMG 2. One of these films is being distributed by none other than PVR!”

Another source informed us, “In Rajasthan, a different problem has emerged as PEN Marudhar is the distributor for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as well as Gadar 2. OMG 2, meanwhile, is being released by PVR. The issue here is rather limited as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has underperformed in this territory.”

In Bihar, Prakash Films is the distributor for all three movies. The source said, “And yet, the show-sharing issue has cropped up as the respective studios are trying their best to reserve maximum shows for their movies.”

The source then said, “Due to these factors, the advance booking has still not opened in several single screens across the country. Certain multiplexes, too, have allotted one screen each to Gadar 2 and OMG 2 while waiting for the issue to get resolved soon.”

A single screen exhibitor complained, on condition of anonymity, “Yeh hamesha ka problem hai hamare liye. Though we are used to it, we wish these issues don’t stretch till Thursday. I am dying to open bookings, especially for Gadar 2.”

Vijay Deverakonda fans couldn’t stop expressing their excitement as the actor is all set to return to theatres, this time, in a quintessential boy-next-door avatar in the upcoming romantic comedy Kushi, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. While fans are also eagerly waiting to see more of this rarely explored chemistry between two of these popular stars, in a recent media interaction, Vijay recalled his past experience in Bollywood and opened about the failure of Liger, which starred him alongside Ananya Panday.

Despite receiving a platform like Dharma Productions which backed this action entertainer set against the backdrop of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and the extreme popularity of Vijay Deverakonda post Arjun Reddy, Liger failed to entice the audience. Speaking about the same at the trailer launch of Kushi, which was held on August 9, Vijay revealed that he is experienced about dealing with flop movies and often takes it in his stride. He said, "It does hurt when a film doesn't work. I have experienced many flops in the past, and Liger is not the first one. I have also had many hits before. I will continue to experience both flops and hits, because ultimately we are trying to tell stories." He continued, "I am not afraid of failure. Even though it hurts when a film doesn't work, it doesn't stop me from trying again. I am not afraid of stumbling."

Furthermore, while he explained the need for telling stories, he also added, "My ambition is always to pursue something creative, and my lifestyle is to wholeheartedly committed to it." Directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger boasted of an ensemble cast which included actors from the South and Bollywood industry. The film released on August 25, 2022.

Talking about his next Kushi, the film brings together Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda after Mahanati and the film will explore different facets of relationships and marriage. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film is shot across several cities including Turkey and is slated to release on September 1 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

However, fans noticed the absence of Shah Rukh Khan who has often made cameos in his films. Karan Johar revealed recently why he didn’t approach the superstar.

When asked if he had approached Shah Rukh Khan for a cameo, the filmmaker told Sucharita Tyagi, “No, not at all. Shah Rukh did the most defining scene for me in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and for that, I will always be very grateful to him. I can’t keep using my privilege with Shah Rukh. I can’t push it.”

He added, “Do you remember he shot with us for 18 days for Brahmastra with no monetary exchange? He just gave his heart, time, body everything for that sequence. It was a large sequence. If I go again to him, it will be too much. Shah Rukh never says no to me. But I can’t keep going to him. I think you need to keep that card very close. I will use it because I have that kind of access to Mr Khan but I don’t want to keep using it for no reason.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has collected Rs. 109.83 crore in India. The film stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express has completed 10 years since its release. Helmed by Rohit Shetty, it marked the return of the actors as a beloved couple after the 2008 movie, Om Shanti Om. Released in 2013, Chennai Express was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year that swept all the major awards.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the movie, Shah Rukh Khan fans have found a unique to celebrate the movie and also gear up for SRK’s next release Jawan. They have organised free special screenings of the movie all over India in 50 cities. In a statement on Tuesday after unveiling the title logo of the movie, Farhan Akhtar said, "In 1978, a character created by Salim-Javed and portrayed by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan, captured the imagination of theatregoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don."

With only two days left for the release of the movie on the big screen, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are busy with the promotions of Gadar 2 in full swing. The actors have been in New Delhi for promotions. A special screening was hosted on Tuesday for the Indian Army and a unanimous response came front them.

As per a source close to the film, "The top brass of the Indian Army watched Gadar 2 last night with their respective families. The makers of the movie were elated to see the response from them as tears and claps ensued at the screening. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma's performances were appreciated by them. The first screening of the movie received a thunderous response from them, and even better than Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. As they left the screening, they chanted 'Hindustan Zindabad' on their way out last night. The response from the th crowd was super energetic and positive."

After having announced his biggest world tour to date, Vir Das is all set to be seen on a brand new OTT series by Dharma Productions’ digital banner Dharmatics, Call Me Bae. The series, a slice-of-life comedy, is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video India. Call Me Bae is a story of a billionaire fashionista who is shunned away by her wealthy family due to a lewd controversy. In Call Me Bae, Vir Das will share the screen with Ananya Panday and Gurfateh Pirzada.

The director and creative minds behind the series have ensured that Call Me Bae captures the essence of contemporary relationships while presenting a relatable and entertaining narrative.

The shooting for Call Me Bae has already been concluded and the series is expected to stream by the end of this year. As Akshay Kumar gears up for the release of his film OMG 2 this week, he hosted a special screening for Sadhguru. Sadhguru revealed that Akshay visited the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore to screen the movie and get feedback. He shared his thoughts on the film and Akshay, in response, was grateful for the valuable feedback.

Not to mention her matching kundan kadas, which were adorned with several bangles and ring bracelets. The gorgeous actress shared three heartwarming photos that melted the hearts of her fans. The first photo shared by Katrina Kaif featured the mesmerizing view from their balcony. Months after The Elephant Whisperers won Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards, the mahout couple Bomman and Bellie, whose lives were shown in the documentary about their unique bond with elephants and conservation, have alleged financial exploitation and neglect against the makers of the documentary. The couple has alleged that they spent a large sum during the making of the docu-film but the makers failed to remunerate. They also alleged that the makers have ignored their calls ever after Oscar win. Now, the couple is seeking Rs. 2 crore as a goodwill gesture from the makers.

A copy of the legal notice was obtained by PTI which stated that the couple was allegedly promised “a house, an all-terrain multi-purpose vehicle, and a lump sum one-time payment as financial support based on the income generated by the project.”

Chennai-based social activist Pravin Raj, a lawyer by profession, said, “Both Bomman and Bellie are disappointed with Gonsalves, who had promised them monetary help as well as help with the education of Bellie’s granddaughter while making the film. But she now refuses to give even a fraction of the enormous profits made by the film.” He also said that the couple followed the filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves around during promotions in the hope that if the project does well, all of them will do well together. However, Raj said, “Instead, Gonsalves is not even picking up the phone when Bomman calls.”

Advocate Mohammed Mansoor is handling the case on behalf of Bomman and Bellie and said that they received a response from Sikhya Entertainment Pvt Ltd, on behalf of Gonsalves. “In that, she has flatly refused any more help stating that she has already given money to the couple. I will be sending her a rejoinder in a couple of days after consulting with my clients,” said Mansoor.

Sikhya Entertainment Pvt Ltd issued a statement to PTI which read, “The goal in creating ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ has always been to highlight elephant conservation, the tremendous efforts of the forest department and its mahouts Bomman and Bellie. Since its launch, the documentary has raised awareness of the cause and had a real impact on the mahouts and cavadis community. Chief minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin has made donations towards assisting the 91 mahouts and cavadis who look after the state’s elephants, constructing eco-friendly houses for the caretakers and developing an elephant camp in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. The documentary has been celebrated by heads of state across India, and the Academy Award is a moment of national pride that has brought widespread recognition for the work of mahouts like Bomman and Bellie. All claims made are untrue. We have deep respect for all of the contributors of this story, and remain driven by the desire to create positive change.”

Basking the success of his last release, Satyaprem Ki Katha that crossed over Rs 100 crore at the box office so far, Kartik Aaryan is currently shooting in London for his next, Chandu Champion being helmed by Kabir Khan.

Spilling the beans on Chandu Champion and his character, Kartik had mentioned in a recent interview, “There’s a lot of weight transformation you’ll see throughout the film, so there will be a gap of like 2 months for me to again bulk up. And Kabir (Khan) sir is super – the way he’s shooting it and the way he’s looking into the other details. We were shooting at the Olympian centre in London and it was really hectic because I had 102 fever and had to go in the water which was cold. Every day, I would just have 3-4 pills before going into the water then again, my viral would come back then again it would subside and then come back because I performed water scenes.”

On the work front, the last three years have been refreshing for Kartik, though, he informed, “I’ve gotten a lot of perspective, personally. There was a lot of time which I was investing in my work, which I already do right now as well, but there was no balance in personal and professional life. I figured that during covid time because I was with my family, like literally I was staying with them and I started enjoying time with them more. It was a good time that I spent with my family after so many years. After that, I’ve been really trying to balance my life. I was literally like a robot. I was not thinking about taking a holiday. Maybe, I should experience some place. I took a lot of trips with my friends, college friends, team, solo trips… I went to Paris on a solo trip as well.”

Talking about the success of Satyaprem Ki Katha, Kartik added, “I love to make people cry more than laugh…  in a movie! I think Satyaprem Ki Katha proved a lot of things. I had done these dramatic scenes before they were usually in a comedy film. For example, when you see Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the first 30-40 mins of the film is pure drama… it’s pure emotions between friends and there is dialogue baazi and there are scenes which make you cry for friendship, but it’s primarily a comedy film so you notice the comedy of it. You don’t notice the emotions or drama of the film as much as the comedy. Be it like Luka Chupi which had emotional scenes but comedy took over but with Satya Prem Ki Katha, the film had a lot of sensitivity again and emotional drama.”

Kartik will be honoured at the prestigious 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) with the Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema award this month. “It’s a huge deal for me,” informed Kartik, elaborating, “I think I’m going to Australia for the first time but the biggest deal for me is the award/ reward they’re giving me over there. Movie buffs are super excited to see three stalwarts from three different South industries, namely, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Shiva Rajkumar coming together for the ambitious entertainer Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Adding to the anticipation and after dropping the trailer of the film, now the makers have unveiled a new poster of the film bringing together Mohanlal and Rajinikanth.

Although fans of the Malayalam superstar couldn’t catch a glimpse of him in the trailer, in the recently released poster, Mohanlal is seen having an intense discussion with Rajinikanth. Adding to the intrigue is his fashion and style that seems to be inspired from a bygone era of the 70s as Mohanlal is seen donning an animal print shirt. On August 5, the producers of Jailer, Sun Pictures took to the social media platform to unveil this poster as a treat to fans who are eager to see their beloved Lalettan in the movie.

From what we hear, Mohanlal’s character was purposely kept out of the trailer to build excitement about his role. Although the actor has time and again maintained that his role will be small but pivotal one, he has maintained silence when it comes divulging details about his character. As for the trailer, it featured Rajinikanth essaying the role of Muthuvel Pandian, who on the surface, seems to be like a simple family man, but soon he is seen unleashing wrath when he senses trouble for himself and his family.

Apart from these two stars, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is expected to essay the role of the lead antagonist. Furthermore, Jailer also boasts of an ensemble supporting cast which includes Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, among others in pivotal roles. With Anirudh Ravichander composing the music and Vijay Kartik Kannan handling the cinematography of the movie, it is slated for a grand release on August 10 in multiple languages.

Known for films like Student Of The Year 2 and Ek Villain Returns, Tara Sutaria has also garnered love for her fashion and style in addition to her films. And currently, the actress received the honor of being invited to Bhutan by the Majesty, the queen mother of Bhutan to attend their annual international literary festival Drukyul, an initiative of Bhutan Echoes.

A source close to the actress confirmed the same, saying, “Tara Sutaria has been a youth icon and an inspiration to many girls of the current generation. She has set an example through her appearance, and now she has been invited by the queen mother of Bhutan to discuss her journey and the importance of arts along with celebrating music, dance and film at Bhutan Echoes. Tara feels truly humbled and honoured to accept the invitation by the Royal family of Bhutan and was also excited about representing her country.”

Speaking about Bhutan Echoes, it is a not-for-profit organization that coordinates and produces events to promote literature, culture, and art in Bhutan and culminating in the Drukyul’s Literature Festival, an annual international literary festival held in Bhutan. Her Majesty the Queen Mother of Bhutan, Gyalyum Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck is the Chief Patron of Bhutan Echoes: Drukyul’s Literature Festival.

Meanwhile coming to Tara’s upcoming projects, she will next be seen in Apurva, and the actress is looking forward to the film as she believes that the story of a survival thriller is one of the most interesting subjects that challenge her as a performer, and she has never played a character like it before.

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover were enthralled to announce the arrival of their first child, a baby girl, whom they named Devi. However, in a recent interaction with actress-host Neha Dhupia, Bipasha revealed that their situation was quite different from other parents because their daughter was born with two holes in their heart. The actress went on to share about the way they battled the life-threatening ailment, and she ended up breaking down while talking about her struggles.

In a video posted by Bipasha Basu of her interaction with Neha Dhupia, she had opened up about her daughter Devi being diagnosed with VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect), three days after she was born. “Our journey has been very different from any normal mother-father, it has been a lot tougher than the smile that I have on my face right now. I would not wish this to happen to any mother. For a new mother, when you get to know that... I got to know on the third day of me having a baby that our baby is born with two holes in her heart. I thought I'll not share this, but I'm sharing this because I feel that there are a lot of mothers, who helped me in this journey, and it was very difficult to find those mothers...,” revealed Basu.

She went on to add, “We didn't even understand what a VSD is. It is ventricular septal defect... We went through a crazy period. We didn't discuss this with our family, we both were in a little bit of a blur. We wanted to celebrate but we were a little numb, me and Karan. The first five months have been very difficult for us. But Devi has been fabulous from day one. We were told that every month, we have to do a scan to know if it's healing on its own. But the kind of large hole that she had, we were told that it was doubtful, you will have to go through surgery. And the surgery is best done, when the child is three-months-old.”

Further speaking about the decision of going ahead with the surgery, Bipasha got emotional. Wiping her tears, the actress continued, “You feel so sad, so burdened and so conflicted, because how can you put a child in open heart surgery? Something natural will happen, and people like us who are believers, we try to manifest it with our thoughts that it will start healing on itself. In the first month, it didn't happen, in the second month, didn't happen. And I remember the third month, when we went for the scan, I pretty much did all the research, met surgeons, had been to hospitals, spoken to doctors, and I was kind of ready, Karan was not ready. I knew that she had to be okay and I knew that she will be okay. And she is okay now. But the tough decision was to get your child operated at the right place and at the right time."

The action entertainer, Khalnayak (1993), completes 30 years today. Bollywood Hungama had a brief exclusive interaction with Subhash Ghai about the Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit-Jackie Shroff starrer and his fond memories.

Was it tough to convince Mr Sanjay Dutt to wear a choli in the male version of 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai'? Yes. The whole concept was funny. My situation demanded that Khalnayak’s gang harass Madhuri Dixit’s character by exposing her own tricks. But I told Sanju on the set and played a re-recorded version of ‘Choli Ke Peeche’. Suddenly, Sanju started laughing. Then I revealed that he needs to wear a choli. But he enjoyed it thoroughly!

What made you have as many as 11 premieres for Khalnayak? How was the response? I was sure after watching the first edit that we have a great film in hand and that we must celebrate it in the biggest way possible. We decided to have premieres at 10 to 12 theatres in three cities, that is, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, with the top ten directors of the industry headed by Shekhar Kapur and Ramesh Sippy. And they all came to Delhi to surprise the audience and spoke about Khalnayak. There were more than 10,000 fans outside each theatre and the response was like never before! We Mumbai directors were united and would participate in each other’s celebrations. That made a lot of difference.

Have you ever visited cinema halls? Do you recall the moments when there were maximum seetis and taalis? I always visited theatres to watch the reactions to my film scenes and songs. It was so satisfying to watch the audience clapping on songs and crying during the emotional scenes. That’s the best award we directors can receive from the audience.

In an interview in 2016, you revealed that you had initially conceived Khalnayak as a Hollywood film. You had titled it Negatives, which you planned to make in association with Ashok Amritraj. This report states Audie Murphy was to play the notorious criminal (essayed by Sanjay Dutt in Khalnayak) and Omar Sharif the cop (ultimately played by Jackie Shroff). You ultimately didn’t go for it as you felt that you won’t enjoy the autonomous power in Hollywood which you did in India. Nevertheless, had you signed Audie Murphy and Omar Sharif? No, we did not sign them but we did send our synopsis to their agents and got a positive response from them. It was a different narrative with the same plot as Khalnayak.

As per reports, Adah's health condition deteriorated considerably, leading to her hospitalization on Wednesday morning. She reportedly started experiencing severe vomiting and was later diagnosed with both food allergy and diarrhoea. A source close to the actor revealed that she had also developed stress hives due to the ordeal.

Currently, Adah is under observation and receiving medical care. Despite the health setback, she remains resilient and optimistic about her upcoming project Commando, where she will reprise her role as Bhavana Reddy. During a recent interview, Chunky referred to the reports as an inevitable consequence of being part of the entertainment industry, labelling them as “collateral damage.” Although he didn't explicitly confirm or deny the reports, the actor acknowledged that such occurrences are likely to take place in his line of work.

Chunky told Bollywood Bubble, “Woh toh hone wala hai (this is bound to happen). They say you live by the soul, you die by the soul. We are in the glamour profession, ye sab hone wala hai (and all this is bound to happen). This is collateral damage, hone wala hai (will be there). You can’t prevent it,” the actor told Bollywood Bubble.

When questioned about his daughter's ideal match, he responded, “I think right from Tiger Shroff starting off, even with Kartik Aaryan in Pati Patni Aur Woh. They were superb so she has always complimented the heroes and it’s been a great journey for her. She’s lucky.” Although he has various concerns, the actor still has one specific requirement when it comes to his daughter dating someone. He stated, “Maine bola hai ki joh bhi hoga he has to be better than me bas phir usko boyfriend banana, warna usse kam ka chance hi nahi hai (I have told her that whoever it is has to be better than me, only then make him of your boyfriend. There is no chance of anything less than that).”

Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday have never addressed these rumours. Interestingly, the couple have also never featured on the big screen together.

The film has Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda and Vedang Raina playing pivotal roles.

The Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan has been one of the most awaited films for several moviegoers. The film’s release has been pushed several times and yet, the hype for the period sports drama is intact. The teaser of the film was released on March 30 this year and after that, there has been no major update about the film. Now, it has come to light that Boney Kapoor, one of the producers of Maidaan, is all set to share a sneak peek of the film next week.

An exhibition called Big Cine Expo is held every year where theatre owners, design consultants, equipment manufacturers, system integrators, project management professionals, industry stakeholders etc come together. This year, the sixth edition of the Big Cine Expo will be held at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai on August 8 and August 9, 2023. The inaugural ceremony will be held at 10:00 am where Alok Tandon, Co-CEO, PVR INOX, will deliver the keynote address. The guests of honour at this ceremony are producers Boney Kapoor and Mukesh Bhatt, Raghavendra T, Director, Big Cine Expo and Editor-Publisher, TheatreWorld and Yusuf Galabhaiwala, Partner, GTC Industries.

Then between 10:40 am and 11:05 am, Boney Kapoor will present never-before-seen footage of Maidaan for the first time. As per sources, the veteran producer is expected to screen not just the film's trailer but also a few scenes from the film. To avoid the footage from getting leaked, attendees will be requested to deposit their cell phones outside the screening area.

Last year, the 5th Big Cine Expo was also held in Chennai where the attendees got a chance to see exclusive footage of the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra (2022). The sneak peek was shown almost a month before the release of the Ayan Mukerji directorial.

Besides Ajay Devgn, Maidaan also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. It is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios. The film’s release date is expected to be announced soon.

After seven years, Karan Johar is back as a director. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the film is creating the right kind of noise and receiving positive word of mouth from critics and audiences. The film marks his 25th year in the film industry as a filmmaker. With the film collecting Rs. 67.12 crore in the first week of its release, the makers hosted a success press conference on Thursday. At the media meet, Ranveer Singh requested Karan Johar to include all the deleted scenes and truncated songs in the streaming release on Prime Video.

The movie was 3 hours and 10 minutes long, which Karan Johar cut to 2 hours and 48 minutes with editor Nitin Baid. Ranveer Singh’s character Rocky Randhawa’s introduction scene was truncated, the songs were shortened, Alia Bhatt’s Rani Chatterjee’s theme song was deleted, Rocky and Rani’s fight after Vicky’s sangeet ceremony was deleted and so was ‘Love Hai Toh Sab Hai’ dialogue ahead of ‘Ve Kamleya’ song was deleted. The wedding song ‘Kudmayi’ was added with the end credits in a box to fit the duration of the movie in the theatres. Though songs have been released on YouTube, fans have been eagerly wanting to watch them in full-fledged way in the movie as well.

Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, Ranveer said, “Log demand kar rahe hai ke Rani ka joh theme song tha, and the deleted scenes woh dekhein (People are demanding that they want to see Rani’s theme songs and all deleted scenes).” To this, Karan Johar replied, “We’ll see.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is currently running in theatres. It also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly. It was released in theatres on July 28, 2023. On the occasion of 20 years of Koi...Mil Gaya, the film is set to re-release in PVR INOX cinemas across 30 cities in India. Rakesh Roshan's Koi...Mil Gaya, released in 2003, is India's first Sci-fi film featuring an alien. The Sci-fi musical and India's first superhero film Krrish franchise also stands to be the first multi-genre story franchise that carries forward characters and storyline from its preceding parts. The film and its installments received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Hrithik Roshan, who starred in the movie, is pumped about the re-release.

Taking to his social media on Thursday, the actor said in a video, “Koi… Mil Gaya is re-releasing in theatres on August 4. I am so excited for the film, I gave so much to, is releasing again in theatres. Wow, it sounds absolutely crazy to me. I didn’t even know it was possible but I knew it was possible. But, now that it is happening, it feels like a release of a new film. This is going to be a lot of fun.”

He added, “Please go to the theatres with your family and friends to enjoy this film. I hope you enjoy. I feel that it has aged pretty well although every time I think of this film, I feel I could have done much better. It’s still a very dear film.”

The Diversity in Cinema Award is set to be conferred upon Mrunal Thakur during the festival's highly anticipated annual gala award night scheduled for August 11. After seven years, Karan Johar is back as a director. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the film is creating the right kind of noise and receiving positive word of mouth from critics and audiences. The film marks his 25th year in the film industry as a filmmaker. With the film has collected Rs. 67.12 crore in the first week of its release, the makers hosted a success press conference on Thursday. At the media meet, Karan Johar talked about his last work with Ranbir Kapoor and working with Ranveer Singh in his latest directorial.

Sharing his views on the same, the director said, “There is nobody who kind of brings that energy on the film’s set that Ranveer gets. Prior to this, I worked with Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, who is actually calm and composed, someone who gets his own energy on the set. And now, working with Ranveer, he gave me a cultural shock. Then I realized that all the hard work that he does and the enthusiasm that he gets is just to enhance his performance. I have not seen this kind of energy. But, I knew one thing he was the most indispensable character in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. There could not have been Rocky Randhawa if it would not have been Ranveer Singh.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is currently running in theatres. It also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly. It was released in theatres on July 28, 2023.
