While Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan together won hearts as sleek spies in the YRF action entertainer War, fans are excited to see the franchise return with the superstar headlining the cast. However, some interesting names have been added to the star cast like RRR fame Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, who will be essaying key roles in War 2. Now, the latest update on that front is that the film is going on floors in Mumbai next month, as per ETimes report.

Not too long ago, Hrithik Roshan was seen travelling across the country to promote his latest release Fighter. And now we hear that he is expected to commence shooting on War 2. In fact, we hear that the preps have started on full swing and that Roshan, who decided to immerse himself into getting fit to play an Indian Air Force officer in his latest release, has kicked off work on this actioner. We hear that the shooting for the film will kick off from Mumbai and that the filmmaker has already jotted down foreign locales where the film will continue to be shot.

A source was quoted in these reports confirmed these details adding, "Ayan Mukerji has already captured overseas location plates approximately two months ago. Currently, a set is under construction in the city in preparation for Hrithik's first shooting schedule".

A lot of expectations are riding high on this film which will mark Hrithik Roshan’s return on the big screen as a spy and audiences can expect some new twists and turns. Being a part of the ambitious YRF spy universe which is being created by Aditya Chopra, there were references to War 2 in the last release Tiger 3, which is also a part of this spyverse along with Pathaan. With Jr NTR as the antagonist and Kiara Advani expected to play the female lead, War 2 is expected to be releasing by the end of this year.

Netflix India recently elevated the long weekend with the global digital release of the much-anticipated blockbuster film Animal on January 26, 2024. Boasting a cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, the movie is now accessible in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, on Netflix. Renowned actor Ashok Saraf, celebrated for his prolific contributions to Marathi cinema and Hindi films, has been honoured with the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan Award 2023. Acknowledging his stellar career, the announcement was made by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The award stands as a testament to Saraf's enduring legacy and his role in shaping the cinematic narrative, transcending boundaries.

“Chief Minister announced giving 2023 Varshacha Maharashtra Bhushan Award to senior Marathi film and theatre actor Ashok Saraf for his immense contribution in the field of art. Ashok Saraf is not only humorous but has shown various shades from serious nature to villainous tendencies through his acting and has congratulated such Chief Ministers as Ghadaville and Rasikanwar Adhirajya Gajwale," wrote the Maharashtra CM on FaceBook, now called Meta.

Ashok Saraf gained fame for his performances in Marathi plays and later transitioned to films. Some of his notable Marathi films include Chal Re Laxya Mumbaila, Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi, and Thartharat. In Hindi cinema, he appeared in films like Shaukeen, Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Chhoti Si Baat, and Rang Birangi.

Tamannaah Bhatia is set to collaborate with Dharma Productions’ digital wing, Dharmatic Entertainment, for an upcoming start-up dramedy, set for Prime Video India. While the title of the project is kept under wraps, Archit Kumar of Dr. Arora fame will be directing this light-hearted series.

As per a report in Peeping Moon, this dramedy will feature two women and the casting for the second lead is underway. The report states, “Currently in pre-production, filming is slated for mid-March or early April, creating anticipation for a nuanced exploration of the highs and lows of the startup journey.”

This marks the second project Dharmatic Entertainment following Showtime, starring Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah. It is set for a summer 2024 release.

For Tamanaah Bhatia, this marks her fourth digital project, following Prime Video’s Jee Karda, Netflix’s Plan A Plan B and Disney+Hotstar’s Aakhiri Sach.

Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter is currently running in the theatres. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. In a recent conversation, the actor spoke about the aerial actioner and the sequel of War, starring Jr. NTR.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Hrithik Roshan said, “Kabir has definitely left a mark. And getting into Kabir’s boots is going to be fun because this time, my challenge is to show Kabir in a different light. A different aspect of him which is going to be interesting”.

War 2 will be the sixth movie in the YRF Spy Universe. This includes Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2022), and Tiger 3 (2023). Hrithik had a cameo as Kabir in the post-credits of Tiger 3, which was helmed by Ayan Mukerji. This will eventually lead to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan starrer Tiger vs Pathaan.

Interestingly, War 2 already commenced shooting last year with body doubles. However, Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR are set to kick off their schedules in February 2024. Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan found himself in a shocking situation recently when a group of enthusiastic fans caused chaos at a recent awards show. Directed and scripted by Kabir Khan, the movie delves into the life of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist in freestyle swimming.

In addition to Chandu Champion, Kartik has a packed schedule ahead. Rashmika Mandanna wrapped shooting Chhava on Saturday which also stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Earlier on Saturday, Rashmika took to social media to pen a lengthy note following the wrap of the film, Chhava. She praised her co-star Vicky Kaushal and the entire cast and crew.

Calling her a ‘major inspiration’, Vicky responded on Instagram saying, “@rashmika_mandanna… neen yennane ullia? The whole set is missing your warmth and energy immensely. ZEE5 announced the world digital premiere of the much-awaited comedy-drama, Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan. Khichdi 2, the follow-up to Khichdi: The Movie (2010) stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Jamnadas Majethia, Kirti Kulhari, Anant Vidhaat Sharma, Reyaansh Vir Chaddha, Flora Saini in prominent roles along with surprise cameos by Farah Khan and Pratik Gandhi. The movie is set to premiere on ZEE5 on 9th February 2024.

In the sequel, the Parekh family goes on an adventure to save the world with Praful playing a double role and also serving as an emperor of a fictional country Paanthukistan. The absurdity, the gags and the silliness return as the Parekh family’s adventure transcends various landscapes – cities, beaches, snow-clad mountains, deserts, and caves. According to recent reports, Fighter, which has been garnering rave reviews across, has become a victim of piracy. The film, which brings together Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone for the first time on the big screen, reportedly is based on the life of Indian Air Force officers. Inspired by real life events, the Siddharth Anand directorial is heavy on aerial action and VFX, as well as it is expected to be a one-of-a-kind film which has now been leaked online.

The full movie, reportedly, is available on torrents and other websites which is expected to have released on these platforms on Day 1 of its release, that is, on January 25. From what we hear, the movie, which has been leaked, is even in high-quality HD format and it is being said that this incident can have a heavy impact on its box office collections.

Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand had described the challenges he faced when he was thinking of making Fighter. He revealed that he had no background in armed forces and had sought the help of former Air Force officers to pen down this script. The director also faced many difficulties in creating aerial action sequences and he had said, “It was very challenging because it was like keeping a fish out of water. I had no idea how this is done. I just knew what I wanted to do. The how of it was a big journey. It was a journey of two years of prep, planning and extreme research, then getting the air force on board, getting them to allow us to use their airbases, choppers by giving them over 2000 storyboards, showing them how we were going to do our real and believable scenes and we can execute them. It’s been a very long process, which makes War and Pathaan look like very simple films.”

Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone playing Air Force officers, Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, among others in key roles.

Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, the biopic on India’s first Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, received acclaim and box office success when it was released last month. The movie, which stars Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, is now all set to premiere on OTT on ZEE5 from January 26, which is India’s Republic Day.

Sam Bahadur saw Fatima Sana Shaikh play the important character of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, the actress revealed that she had initially refused the role. “I said no (laughs). I was like, ‘I don’t think I am the right person’. Then Meghna said, ‘No, I think you are the right person’. I was like, ‘Theek hai, agar aapko lagta hai toh hum karte hain saath mein kaam’,” she said.

The filmmaker was a major reason why Fatima agreed to do Sam Bahadur. “I always wanted to work with Meghna Gulzar,” she said. “So, it’s been a milestone. And I feel Vicky is one of the most talented actors of our generation. I got to work with him and again with Sanya (Malhotra). So, it felt like the right project for me to collaborate with these people. I hope more people will see the film now on OTT and like our work. That will be the biggest victory.”

Fatima said that although she saw old videos of Indira Gandhi to prepare for herself, she relied more on the director. “Meghna was very clear what she wanted from me for Indira ji,” said Fatima. “She had curated everything for me. I have read about her life, childhood and everything she has done and contributed. I have seen her old videos, which Films Division also had. But Meghna decided what are the things she wanted to pick from the character and how much.”

That’s not all. Fatima was amazed by Meghna Gulzar’s preparations. “She has a great eye for detail. There is nothing that she doesn’t know about that era, wars, uniform, textile, etc. She is an encyclopaedia. You can ask her anything about Sam Bahadur, Indira Gandhi or any character. She is so intelligent. But at the same time, she knows exactly what she wants, and she is so sure of herself. It’s lovely to have a director who knows what she wants,” she said.

Fatima added that getting the make-up done to get the look of Indira Gandhi was a major challenge. “It’s a very lengthy process,” she said. “You have to sit for three hours. Somehow you manage to do that. I think the biggest task for actors is to sit calmly when you are getting something like this done. You can’t move or do anything. That’s the most boring part of the day.”

Sam Bahadur has some confrontational scenes between Fatima and Vicky. Sharing her experience with the actor, she said, “He (Vicky) is a brilliant actor and a very good co-actor. So, it’s been a pleasure to work with him. He has always been very collaborative and giving. I really enjoyed working with him.”

Sam Bahadur had released alongside the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal on December 1. When asked whether the film would have done even better at the box office if it was released solo, Fatima said, “I have no idea, to be honest, because we can’t say what could or could not have happened. I think it found its audience. Maybe later also it would have happened. Honestly, I don’t know. It’s unknown.”

Fatima has a line-up of films slated for 2024, including Metro… In Dino. “I am very excited because I have spent my New Years and birthday working. I am working every day. So, I am just feeling blessed. This year, I am doing a lot of work, so I am excited,” she signed off.

Fans hoping for a crossover between two of Raj and DK's popular series, The Family Man and Farzi, might have to adjust their expectations. In a recent interview, the lead actor of The Family Man, Manoj Bajpayee, poured cold water on the idea of the two universes merging.

Following the release of Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, viewers were quick to spot potential connections to The Family Man, leading to speculation about a shared universe. However, Bajpayee, who plays Srikant Tiwari in the espionage thriller, expressed his doubts in a conversation with Lallantop.

"I don't think this will happen," stated Bajpayee. "Right now, we have a commitment to complete the four seasons of The Family Man. But I don't think these universes will be merged because The Family Man itself is a very big universe. I don't think Raj and DK and Amazon would want to mix it with something else."

Fuelling the crossover buzz were Easter eggs in Farzi, such as a cameo by The Family Man's Chellam sir and a phone conversation with a character named "Tiwari," speculated to be a reference to Srikant Tiwari. However, Bajpayee's comments suggest creators might be focusing on building their worlds for now.

The third season of The Family Man is still awaiting its filming schedule.

Speaking of the professional front, Manoj is currently bagging praises for his performance in Netflix’s latest series, Killer Soup. Besides this, he is also hosting the third instalment of the Secret franchise. The docu-series, Secrets of the Buddha Relics, is already available on Discovery+ and will premiere on Discovery Channel on February 26.

Varun Dhawan had an eventful 2023 as his film Bawaal was adjudged as the most-watched OTT flick last year. Atlee, meanwhile, also rocked the show in 2023 with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. It was the biggest hit of the year across all languages. This year, both have joined hands for an interesting action entertainer, which also marks Atlee’s first film as a producer. All this while, the film was addressed as VD18, its working title, and as per reports, the film has got a title.

If reports are to be believed, the actioner will be called Baby John. Yesterday, the makers of the film got the Censor Certificate for its teaser from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). That’s when the word spread about its quirky and unique title. Reports also state that Baby John’s teaser will be unveiled in a few days, most probably on Saturday, January 27.

Apart from Varun Dhawan, Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff. It is directed by Kalees and is backed by Atlee and Priya Atlee’s A For Apple Studios, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios. It is the remake of Atlee’s 2016 directorial Theri, starring Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson.

The film went on floors in August last year in Mumbai, followed by an extensive schedule in Kochi. As per reports, Varun suffered an injury in the Mumbai schedule. The casting is significant as Varun will be seen in an out-and-out massy action role for the first time. Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh is a popular name even for Hindi-speaking markets and this marks her debut Bollywood film. Wamiqa Gabbi, on the other hand, went on a high in 2023 with the success of her web show Jubilee and her web film, Khufiya.

It now remains to be seen when Baby John will be released in cinemas and whether the release date will be unveiled in the teaser.

Filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty has raised the bar for the Indian entertainment industry in the year 2022 with his film Kantara. The film received widespread acclaim on both domestic and international levels, and it dominated the box office by becoming the global box office phenomenon. Amidst the preparation for the prequel of Kantara, Rishab Shetty along with his wife Pragathi Shetty graced the grand celebration of Pran Pratishtha Mahotasav in divine land of Ayodhaya on being invited by the Indian Government.

Bigg Boss 17, which made news this year for marital conflicts, love triangle, and fake relationships, is nearing its finale. Just a day ago, we had reported that after the six finalists were selected for the show, housemaster is all set to play his ace card by voting out another contestant, using his rule of favouritism which was an integral concept in this season. Using the same, it was Vicky Jain, whose conflicts with wife Ankita Lokhande dominated the news, who got eliminated from the house.

Being one of the most renowned filmmakers, it is a known fact that Rohit Shetty has had a long-standing connection with the film industry since his childhood. The superstar-filmmaker’s parents were stunt artists and recently the actor recalled how his connection with action is something that he has had since his childhood. He also revealed how his father M.B. Shetty sustained injuries as a stuntman and recalled his mother Ratna Shetty playing body-double to yesteryear stars like Hema Malini and Vyjayantimala.

Recently, in an interview with ANI, Rohit Shetty confessed that breaking bones is a kind of family business when he opened up about his parents’ journey as stunt artists in the film industry. He said, “He directed the action sequences in Deewar, Yaadon Ki Baraat, Great Gambler, Don, An Evening in Paris, and Trishul. He invented the glass break. He got lots of cuts. He used to come home with blood stains and stitches.”

He further went on to add, how his mother used to play body doubles to some of the most popular actresses. In fact, he revealed that she was Hema Malini’s body double in her iconic drama Seetha Aur Geetha. “My mom was a stuntwoman. She did Seeta Aur Geeta. The Hema Malini you see on the fan is actually my mom.” She added, “The Vyjayantimala rolling down the staircase—it’s her; her physique was such.”

He finally added how breaking bones is a part of the family and concluded, “That’s why I am like this. It is a family business that breaks bones. It is in our DNA to break our own bones.”

Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff had an underwhelming 2022 and 2023. But looks like they’ll have a rocking 2024 if the teaser of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is anything to go by. The 1 minute 41-second-long promo packs in a lot and yet, keeps a lot of aspects of the film under wraps.

The first half of the teaser introduces the menacing villain, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Interestingly, his face isn’t shown and his voice and actions do the talking. The antagonist has an AI connection and that adds to the madness. And then our heroes are introduced and that takes the teaser to another level.

Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are bona fide action stars. Hence, it looks quite convincing to see them doing death-defying stunts. Both also mouth a massy dialogue involving ‘Hindustan’. In cinemas, it’ll be greeted with claps and whistles for sure. In fact, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan seems to be their massiest film to date.

The credit for this slick Bade Miyan Chote Miyan teaser should also go to the makers. Director Ali Abbas Zafar deserves brownie points as he proves that he’s one of the best directors today when it comes to action films. There’s no doubt that he knows the genre well and his sharp talent is visible from start to finish. No wonder that until one point, he was the only filmmaker, besides Rajkumar Hirani, to have had two Rs. 300 crore grossers in his filmography. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan can be his third giant success, provided the content clicks.

Lastly, the producers Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, too, deserve credit. They have mounted the film on a huge scale. They have gone all out to ensure the audience gets to see a grand action entertainer on the big screen. Technically, too, the film looks rich. Be it cinematography, VFX, production design or VFX, everything seems top-class.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan releases on Eid 2024. Here’s hoping the songs and trailer also land well. Once that happens, nothing can stop this action entertainer from taking a huge start and emerging as Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s highest-ever opener.

Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently hospitalized for triceps surgery, will be discharged today, January 22. The surgery went well on Monday and his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan was beside him. The actor will be discharged on Tuesday from Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai and will be taking a rest before he returns to the sets of his next project.

The initial reports suggested that there was a problem with Saif Ali Khan's knee and that he might need surgery. In an official statement, Khan mentioned, "This injury and the surgery are just a result of the wear and tear from our work. I'm grateful to have skilled doctors taking care of me, and I appreciate everyone's love and concern.”

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan has some exciting new projects coming up. One of them is a movie called Devara Part 1, where he'll be starring with Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. A moment to remember! Bollywood actress Ananya Panday made history as the youngest Indian actress to represent an Indian designer-Rahul Mishra at the Paris Haute Couture Week 2024. Walking the runway for the first time, the actress stunned in a mini black shimmery dress and carries a giant circle prop which has butterfly themes hand embroidery.

Rahul Mishra noted the collection’s name as “superheroes”. Describing the new couture collection inspired by insects, reptiles and dragonflies, Vogue described his opulent designs marked him as a top-tier couture entomologist, delighting in intricate and lavish creations.

Talking about the collection, Rahul Mishra said, “Beyond my own comfort zone, I look back once more at those who’ve been here before me. I seek to not just just appreciate the beauty or the vividness of the insect kingdom but also challenge our whole conditioning/education towards how we treat insects and feel the emotions otherwise coming from a primal notion of fear.”

Amid the feud between Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios related to profit sharing of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, now, it is reported that the studios have settled out of court. For unversed, Cine1 was upset with T-Series for not following their agreement regarding the movie Animal. T-Series argued that Cine1 had already given up their rights in a 2022 agreement. The case was taken to court which may have affected the film's release on a digital platform, Netflix India.

As reported by Bar N Bench on Monday, January 22, the lawyers representing both studios informed the Delhi High Court that “they have reached an agreement to resolve their issues. This means a settlement has been officially signed and will be presented to the court for approval.” With the settlement in place, the hurdles for Animal arriving on OTT have been removed.

On Monday, Justice Sanjeev Narula acknowledged the agreement between the studios and instructed both parties “to officially document the agreement. The court will review and address the matter on January 24, with the expectation of bringing it to a conclusion at that time.”

As per an earlier report in ANI, Cine1 accused T-Series of breaking their contract, claiming that the latter did not consult them for promotions like teasers, credits, marketing, and disclosing final costs. The studio also alleged that T-Series didn't share details about agreements with Netflix India and Sony Pictures Networks India.

T-Series, represented by Senior Advocate Amit Sibal, responded, claiming that in an August 2022 amendment agreement, Cine1 gave up all rights to the movie for Rs 2.6 crores.

The court, led by Justice Sanjeev Narula, accepted the case and summoned both parties. They were asked to submit written statements and affidavits, after which, the case was set to proceed with evidence marking on March 15 with additional arguments scheduled for January 22. Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has been ready for a while but there was no news of its release. Yesterday, fans, media and trade got a pleasant surprise as it came to light that the much-awaited sports drama will finally see the light of the day. It’ll arrive in cinemas worldwide on Eid, that is, in the second week of April this year. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn had just one release in 2023 – Bholaa – but this year he will be seen in as many as 5 films, that too as a leading actor.

Ajay Devgn will open his account this year with Shaitaan. The spooky teaser poster was launched recently and the teaser is expected to be out soon. Along with Ajay Devgn, it also stars Jyotikha and R Madhavan. Directed by Vikas Bahl, this supernatural flick will release in cinemas on March 8.

This will be followed by Maidaan, a period sports flick directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of Badhaai Ho (2018) fame and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios. It also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao and is based on the golden era of Indian football, between 1952 and 1962. Ajay plays Syed Abdul Rahim, an accomplished Indian coach in this film, which has music by A R Rahman.

Two weeks after Maidaan’s release, Ajay Devgn will again be seen on the big screen in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, on April 26. It marks his first collaboration with Neeraj Pandey and according to producer Shreyans Hirawat of NH Studioz, it is a romantic thriller and though it has action, it won’t be a “typical Neeraj Pandey film”. Reportedly, it is a love story that spans 19-20 years, from 2002 to 2023. Jimmy Sheirgill and Saiee Manjrekar also star in this flick. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani.

In short, between March 8 and April 26 or in 50 days, Ajay Devgn will have as many as 3 theatrical releases.

And that’s not all. On Independence Day, Ajay Devgn will be seen as the popular character of Singham in Singham Again. The Rohit Shetty action entertainer has an ensemble star cast, comprising Ajay, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.

Ajay Devgn’s final release in 2024 will be Raid 2. It went on floors earlier this month and will arrive in cinemas on November 15. Vaani Kapoor plays the female lead while Riteish Deshmukh essays the antagonist. It is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.

It was a significant year for him as Raajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai were huge hits and created a rage among the audiences, especially the latter. With only three days left before the release of the aerial actioner Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, the excitement amongst fans for Siddharth Anand’s directorial is at an all-time high. The film is set to kick off Republic Day weekend on January 25. Amidst much anticipation, two big releases of the year, Akshay Kumar – Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan will have their teasers attached to Fighter in theatres.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the producers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan revealed, “While the teaser is not hard attached to the prints of Fighter, the producers of BMCM – Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani - have struck a deal with the national chains as also some of the single screen associations to screen the teaser before the film or in the interval.” All the PVR-INOX screens will screen 1 minute 41-second teaser across India.

Talking about Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, the source further said that the upcoming film is “a supernatural thriller and the makers want to reach out to a wide section of the audience with their first teaser. It’s a tight spooky cut and has some shock element too. While digital launch will take place soon, the theatrical experience for Shaitaan teaser begins from January 25.”

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding another layer of intensity to this rollercoaster ride of emotions. Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment present Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in association with AAZ films. The film is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, and Ali Abbas Zafar. The film is all set to release on Eid 2024 in April.

HanuMan has been creating quite a buzz ever since its release. Touted to be one of the biggest movies of Telugu actor Teja Sajja, the film released in India in multiple languages. The film inspired by Hindu mythology and tales of Lord Hanuman, has garnered love from audiences and the makers are planning to return some of it back by making a large donation to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Readers would be aware that the inauguration of Ram Mandir in the spiritual land of Ayodhya will be done by honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on January 22. The event, which will be attended by several known stars and names, has already received nationwide and worldwide recognition. Considering that the film is inspired by a portion of the Ramayana, the makers of the recently released HanuMan have asserted that they would be donating a huge sum of Rs. 2.66 crores which they have earned from selling over 50,000 tickets for the film as a way of returning to society. The makers announced about it on X, formerly known as Twitter, on January 21. Speaking of the film HanuMan, directed by Prasanth Varma, the film stars Teja Sajja in the lead along with Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai in key roles. With Dasaradhi Sivendra as the cinematographer and Sai Babu Talari as the editor, the music is composed by Anudeep Dev, GowraHari, and Krishna Saurabh. Produced under the banner of Primeshow Entertainment, the film released on January 12 in Telugu along with dubbed versions of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

The first big release of the year, Fighter, is all set to release this week and the excitement is tremendous. The advance booking opened on Friday night and the ticket sales till now have been encouraging. Meanwhile, the censor process of the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer was completed on time before release. Bollywood Hungama, in this exclusive article, brings to you the list of cuts faced by this aerial action thriller.

As per the cut list, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for four modifications in the film. Firstly, the anti-smoking static message was asked to be mentioned in Hindi. Secondly, an abusive word was muted or replaced in two dialogues, one at 53 minutes and the other at 1 hour and 18 minutes. Thirdly, ‘sexually suggested visuals’ were removed. These 8 seconds of visuals were probably replaced by ‘suitable shots’. Lastly, 25 seconds of the audio in a TV news visual scene was removed and replaced with 23 seconds of audio.

After these changes were carried out, a U/A certificate was granted to the makers of Fighter on Friday, January 19. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 166 minutes. In other words, the run time of Fighter is 2 hours and 46 minutes. Fighter releases in cinemas worldwide on January 25.

Interestingly, this is the second consecutive film of actor Deepika Padukone and director Siddharth Anand which faced cuts from the CBFC over hot scenes. Their last film together, Pathaan, was passed by the CBFC only after the close-up shot of buttocks, 'side pose (partial nudity)' shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics 'Bahut tang kiya' in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ were removed or curtailed and replaced with 'suitable shots'. Even then, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the story and it was one of the biggest viral news of the year 2023.

Alia Bhatt, who has already added several feathers to her cap, was recently honored for her work in Indian Cinema in an awards event in Saudi Arabia, which was also attended by film talents and artists across the globe. Known as the Joy Awards, the actress was presented with the Honorary Entertainment Makers Award at the event held in Riyadh, followed by which she also gave a heartfelt speech, wherein she not only thanked the dignitaries and expressed gratitude over the win but also opened up about her love for cinema.

Alia Bhatt attended the event in an embroidered red and blue saree and a matching cape with a long trail. She retained the ethnic touch with her half-tied hair and golden traditional danglers that added to her elegant look. When she was invited on stage to accept the award, the actress started her acceptance speech by thanking the dignitaries and their initiative towards bringing global talents from cinema together as she said, "It's a privilege to be here in this nation, the nation that is currently doing so much to unite us all and bring us all under one roof in the name of cinema. In November 2023, Rashmika Mandanna, who was one of the first victims of deepfake video, had taken to social media to express her shock and requested the authorities to take proper action against such cyber-crimes. The police officials, who were investigating the matter, after an FIR was lodged against the perpetuator under multiple charges of forgery, identity theft, etc., they finally made an arrest on January 20.

Just a day ago, we had reported that the Delhi Police had arrested the accused man from Andhra Pradesh. Owing to the same, Rashmika Mandanna took to social media to express her gratitude towards the officials in a heartfelt note. She posted it on her Instagram story and it read, “Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to @delhi.police_official (folded hands emoji) Thank you for apprehending those responsible. Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support, and shields me (indian flag).”

Readers would be aware that the actress’ response on social media had sparked a debate about stringent actions being taken against cyber-crimes. 2024 will be exciting as it’ll see the release of some exciting Pan-India films. One of the most awaited ones is Kanguva. It is highly anticipated not just because of Suriya’s casting but also because it stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The latter is on a high after the blockbuster success of Animal. As a result, Kanguva has a huge chance to open with a bang in the Hindi-speaking markets. And if the latest buzz is to be believed, another exciting face might be a part of the film.

As per the buzz in the market, the makers of Kanguva have approached Kartik Aaryan and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The speculations suggest that the makers want to establish an antagonist at the end of the first film. For this, they want to cast a popular Hindi actor, who’ll play the villain in the sequel. According to the buzz, this character will have a 5 to 10-minute cameo appearance in Kanguva’s final portion.

If things fall in place, this will be the first Tamil and first major Pan-India film for Kartik Aaryan as well as Siddhant Chaturvedi. Meanwhile, Kartik is busy with his much-awaited sports flick, Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan. He’ll soon start shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which will arrive in cinemas on Diwali. Siddhant Chaturvedi, on the other hand, just had a successful digital release, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. His upcoming release is Yudhra, co-starring Malavika Mohanan.

As for Kanguva, it is directed by Siva and backed by UV Creations and Studio Green. Its budget is expected to be in the range of Rs. 300-350 crores. The second look poster was unveiled a few days ago and was well received. With music by none other than Devi Sri Prasad, Kanguva will be released in 10 languages in 3D format.

Actress Alaya F has come a long since her debut in Jawaani Jaaneman. Starring alongside industry-celebrated stars Tabu and Saif Ali Khan, the young actress will soon celebrate her fourth anniversary in the film industry on January 31, 2020. She has two releases in 2024 and one of them is Sri starring alongside Rajkummar Rao and Jyothika. It is a biopic on the life of Indian visionary Srikanth Bolla in Sri, directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

Speaking about her upcoming film, Alaya F says that she is honoured to be a part of such an important story. She admits that Rajkummar Rao has to do all the heavy lifting in the movie but she is simply happy to be a part of a project like this biopic. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Alaya F says, “Honestly, Raj has the heavy lifting of complexities. For me, I just love the story. I thought it was really sweet and inspirational story and I just wanted to be a part of it in whatever little way I could. Raj is doing all the heavy lifting in this film, I'm happy just to be a part of a really wonderful project.”

She adds, “When I read the script of this film, I remember thinking to myself that ‘If I did not know that this was a real-life story, I would have been like ‘Just because it's a film and you can conveniently do anything. So all of this is possible.’ But then when you realize it's a real-life story, it becomes so incredible, because you can't even make up stuff like that. It's just incredible what this man has done. His life story is so inspiring and so incredible. Just being able to be a part of a story like that is wonderful. It's a genre that I love. I love biopics; I love inspirational stories. I'm just grateful to be a part of it.”

Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit, and pictured by Pratham Mehta, Sri portrays the life of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment, ultimately founding Bollant Industries. Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Presents a T-Series Films & Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, Sri is directed by Tushar Hiranandani, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar & Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. The film releases nationwide on the 10th of May 2024.

INDIAN POLICE FORCE is the story of cops hunting down a terrorist. On Delhi Police Raising Day, the National Capital is rocked by a series of blasts. Kabir Malik (Sidharth Malhotra), Vikram Bakshi (Vivek Oberoi), Rana (Nikitin Dheer) and others of Special Police Unit of Delhi Police are given the charge of the case. They are joined by Tara Shetty (Shilpa Shetty Kundra), Gujarat ATS chief. The mastermind they are trying to find is none other than Zarar aka Haider (Mayyank Taandon). He’s living as a paying guest at the house of a mechanic Saeed (Lalit Parimoo), who’s also a terrorist. Saeed’s mother and daughter Nafeesa (Vaidehi Parshurami) have no idea about their involvement. Nafeesa assumes Zarar is a perfume seller and falls in love with him. Zarar, meanwhile, is planning his next operation and getting the handlers out of Delhi. When one of the handlers calls home, Kabir’s team finds out their location. They attack the safe house. All the handlers die, except one but Zarar escapes. Meanwhile, Kabir’s team loses a brave police officer. Kabir is transferred. Zarar, on the other hand, reaches Jaipur to execute another round of terror attack. What happens next forms the rest of the series.

Sandeep Saket and Anusha Nandkumar’s story is well-researched. Sandeep Saket and Anusha Nandkumar’s screenplay, too, is interesting. A few scenes stand out, more so for the action. Sandeep Saket, Anusha Nandkumar, Ayush Trivedi, Vidhi Ghodgaonkar and Sanchit Bedre’s dialogues are normal but a few of them are sharp.

Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash’s direction is decent. The directors have tried their best to enhance the mass quotient and even scale of the show. All the locations are depicted in a grand fashion as if this is a big-screen film. They ensure that the viewers are interested and invested in the cat and mouse chase between the cops and the dreaded terrorist spanning several cities. A few scenes stand out like Vikram taking a live bomb in his hand, the madness at Firoza Nagar, Jaideep Bansal (Mukesh Rishi) advising Kabir and Vikram to break the rules, the death of a cop, the police getting into a fight with Goldie Rodrigues (Sunil Rodrigues) and his men in Goa etc. The last two episodes are the best of the lot.

On the flipside, the series doesn’t present anything that we have not seen before in a Rohit Shetty venture. There are no twists and turns or cameo appearances from any character of the cop universe. The action scenes also give a been-there-done-that feeling. Moreover, the principal characters don’t have particularly entertaining characteristics.

Sidharth Malhotra looks convincing as an action hero. Vivek Oberoi looks dashing and does well. Sadly, his screen time is limited. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, too, has less screen time but she compensates for it with her acts and stunts. Mayyank Taandon is fine as the antagonist. Vaidehi Parshurami is the best performer of the show. Her character is well-written, and she does justice to it. Shruti Panwar (Unaiza) leaves a mark. Mukesh Rishi, Niktin Dheer, Lalit Parimoo, Rituraj Singh (Rafeeq), Karanvir Malhotra (Sikku), Rakshit Wahi (Moin) and Purnendu Bhattacharya (Home Minister) lend able support. Isha Talwar (Rashmi) is lovely in a cameo. Shweta Tiwari (Shruti) is great in the breakdown scene but is forgotten after a point. Mrinal Kulkarni (Ruksana; Kabir’s mother) is strictly okay. Mohak Meet (Shadab), Sunil Rodrigues, Akashdeep Sabir (Mudassar; Zarar’s father), Deepak Qazir (Khan Sahab) and Harsh Sharma (Salamat) are fair in small roles. Sharad Kelkar (Jagtap) is apt.

There are 3 songs in the film. The ‘IPF Theme’ is very catchy. ‘Bairiya Re’ and ‘Koi Aayat’ are forgettable but are shot nicely by Sneha Shetty Kohli. Amar Mohile’s background score tries to enhance the tension and mass appeal.

Girish Kant and Raza Hussain Mehta’s cinematography is spectacular. The aerial shots give a nice touch. Swapnil Bhalerao and Madhur Madhavan’s production design is appropriate. Navin Shetty, Mehek Navin Shetty and Laxman Gollar’s costumes are realistic and also appealing. Sunil Rodrigues’ action and Rohit Shetty’s action design are devoid of gore and blood. NY VFXWaala’s VFX is average. Bunty Nagi’s editing is pacy.

On the whole, INDIAN POLICE FORCE has the trademark Rohit Shetty stamp all over. Due to the abundance of action and association of Rohit Shetty, it is bound to garner a huge viewership.

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon were in their element at the trailer launch of their upcoming love story, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. They were joined by producer Dinesh Vijan and director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Dinesh Vijan, too, entertained the attendees with his quotes.

Dinesh Vijan said in his opening speech, “With Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), you guys proved that this genre is still relevant. This film is very special as my career started with Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Cocktail (2012). That kind of defined us. I really liked the genre but we didn’t have a concept. Finally, Amit and Aradhana and Sharada (Sharada Karki Jalota) developed this (concept). I realized that it’s a crazy thought but an interesting thought. Today, I saw the trailer and I realized that (for a film like this), you need an electrifying chemistry. I have seen the film in the mix. In the last ten years, you haven’t seen chemistry like this! This I can guarantee you.”

Kriti Sanon, who plays the robot quipped, “Main night shoot karke aayi hoon. I haven’t slept a wink. I am operating with 30% battery. So, if I lag, please don’t mind.”

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya releases in cinemas on February 9.

I am in the comments section reading every review of my images. And everyone’s like, ‘Oh his 15 minutes will end, he’s going to vanish, just wait. The fame’s getting to his head.’ Yes, the fame is getting to my head, yes, I have an attitude problem now. I think I am better than everyone but I am planning my own downfall now. The time has come, anything that goes up, goes down. The brightest stars burn out the fastest,” he said.

He said that he and his team are now planning his digital demise.  “In the Orry room, we are planning my demise, my digital demise. The audience wants to see me fall. Very soon (the downfall will start). We’re waiting for the right ideas and then the 15 minutes will be up. Then we plan a comeback. My fall is coming. Actor Pranutan Bahl--granddaughter of legendary Indian actor Nutan is set to star in her maiden Hollywood feature Coco & Nut, opposite American actor-filmmaker Rahsaan Noor. Billed as a spirit-lifting romance, the charming love story is directed by Rahsaan Noor. This marks his first film since the critically acclaimed 2018 film Bengali Beauty, the highest-grossing Bengali language movie of all time which captured hearts and was also the first to release in the USA, UK, and China.

"Feeling worthless, an ambitious young woman (Pranutan) fighting to save her marriage gets a pick me up from her know-it-all college sweetheart (Rahsaan)," the official logline of Coco & Nut reads.

Production for the film will be in English and Hindi and will take place entirely in Chicago from June to July this year, with a diverse cast and crew drawn from both the United States and India. After films like Salman Khan backed Notebook (2019) and comedy-drama Helmet (2022), the upcoming film marks Pranutan Bahl’s International debut and promises to be a significant milestone in her career.

Pranutan hails from a distinguished lineage of actors, with her father being the renowned Mohnish Bahl and her grandmother being the legendary Nutan. Actor Kajol is her aunt.  "I've always wanted to do a romantic drama," Pranutan expressed. "Coco & Nut is a beautiful story in which my character, Nut, journeys through a transformative phase in her life. I’m so grateful that I make my international debut with a movie like that."

The screenplay for the film was inspired by a text message Rahsaan Noor received from his college sweetheart five years after she broke his heart and deals with the intricate relationship dynamics faced by Millennials and Gen Z; exploring the trend of delayed marriage and its impact on modern love.

"I'm really grateful to be getting another opportunity to make a film," Rahsaan Noor said. "That too on a subject that is not only personal to me but also a subject that I've found so many people around the world relate to -- when looking for your life partner, how do you really know if you've found the one?”

“I grew up like so many other second-generation South Asian Americans -- with a love for our movies from the motherland. That's why we're making Coco & Nut in English and Hindi. It's a privilege to be working with Pranutan on this film. From the moment I saw her in Notebook, I was taken by her talent and knew that I had to work with her one day," the actor-filmmaker added.

Written by Rahsaan Noor and Raghav Murali, with additional screenplay credited to Priyamvada Singh, the film is produced by Hamilton Moving Pictures' Chad Shields, alongside Ranjith Rajasekharan and Raghav Murali.

"Coco & Nut is a deeply moving film that captures the universal themes of love, resilience, and cultural identity," stated Shields. "It's a timely exploration of both the immigrant experience and younger generations' evolving relationship dynamics. The picture will prove to be a poignant reflection of our modern, interconnected world."

Co-financing the project are Noor’s Ziryab Films, Henry Leong’s Macuverse, and Executive Producers Mashruk Zahid and Lasaly Changkachith. The film is slated to release in 2025. Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra celebrated his 39th birthday yesterday, surrounded by well-wishes from co-stars and friends. The actor, who is gearing up for his role in the upcoming Amazon Prime series Indian Police Force, received warm from his co-stars Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.

Shilpa Shetty shared a picture of the two and penned a heartfelt message. She expressed her wishes, saying, “May happiness, love, success, and smiles always be on duty. May you be blessed with great health always, my handsome Sid.” Vivek Oberoi, who also plays a significant role in Indian Police Force, extended his birthday wishes to Sidharth with a message. Talking about their upcoming project, Indian Police Force will be available on Prime Video from January 19. Created by Rohit Shetty, the show will feature Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, Sharad Kelkar and Shilpa Shetty in the lead roles. The series is all set to provide audiences with an immersive journey into the next chapter of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. Sidharth also has Yodha which stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. The film is helmed by the debut of Sagar Amre and Pushkar Ojha.

It's final! Bollywood actress Vidya Balan's next is set for theatrical release. Titled Do Aur Do Pyaar, the film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It is directed by debutant Shirsha Guha Thakurta. Along with the first-look poster, the makers have also announced the release date of the film. The film arrives in cinemas on March 29, 2024.

The film, a progressive, uninhibited take on modern relationships, marks Applause’s foray into the big screen experience and this second collaboration with Ellipsis Entertainment (after the Tahira Kashyap Khurrana-directed Sharmajee Ki Beti) promises to be an ultimate date movie.

The project was announced in 2021. At the time, director Shirsha Guha Thakurta tells us, "When I first heard this story, I was instantly attracted to its universe- honest, funny and so today. The actors have been a dream to work with. Their generosity is something I will always cherish. My producers (Applause and Ellipsis) have been extremely supportive and stood by me like a rock. Yes, I'm nervous, but this journey so far has been truly special."
