Bottega Veneta's creative director Matthieu Blazy welcomed BTS star RM as their new global ambassador via social media. ARMY had suspected that RM is all set to become the brand ambassador for the Italian luxury brand when he was spotted at the Bottega Veneta show during the Milan Fashion Week 2023. It is known that he does in fact, admire the brand and now, he is representing it. Karan Johar is getting ready for the new season of his smash-hit talk show Koffee With Karan. Preparations are on to lock in the dates for Season 8. It will probably go on air around August or September. In the meanwhile, here is what we know about the next season: the super-celebrity guests would be a mix of the fresh and the familiar. Filmmaker Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar recently visited the holy Vaishno Devi temple on the occasion of Navratri and to seek blessings for their upcoming keenly awaited film Adipurush, which stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. For the unversed, Vaishno Devi is one of the foremost pilgrimage sites in India, situated in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharing more about the visit, a statement from the makers said, “Remarking the creation of universe and beginning of the world by Maa Shri Durga, Chaitra Navratri holds immense significance in the Hindu culture! With this belief and Shri Gulshan Kumar’s immense faith in Maa Vaishno Devi, the makers seek divine blessings for Adipurush.” Adipurush is the retelling of the great Indian epic Ramayana. The film will see Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh and Saif Ali Khan essay the roles of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Raavan respectively. Prime Video recently announced the fictional drama Jubilee which has left the audience excited ever since the first look of the series. The Amazon Original series which is set parallel to the evolution of both India and the Hindi film industry is a layered drama, interwoven with multiple characters - a studio boss, his movie-star wife, a trusted aide, a rising star, a nautch girl, and a refugee - and their dreams and ambitions. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has moved the court for defaming and maligning his image and has filed a defamation suit against Shamas Nawab Siddiqui and former wife Aaliya Siddiqui seeking damages of Rs. 100 crores. As per current reports, the hearing will be held on March 30 by Justice RI Chagla. The suit has come after several allegations were thrown against the Kick actor after his wife accused the Siddiqui family of harassment and torture. In his suit, the actor has alleged that the allegations thrown towards him has affected his public image. In the suit that has been filed through advocate Sunil Kumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has alleged that he is unable to make any kind of appearances or attend social gatherings owing to the many accusations thrown towards him. He has alleged that these ‘misleading claims’ have impacted his career and hence, he has also requested the court to pass an order of injunction to restrict his brother and estranged wife Anjana Pandey alias Aaliya Siddiqui from making any more defamatory comments against him, along with a request added for taking down the already existing remarks and statements against him. Furthermore, in the same suit, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has also alleged that his brother has committed several fraudulent transactions which has resulted in major monetary loss for the actor. The actor has further alleged that due to misappropriation of funds, the actor currently owes a whopping amount of Rs. 37 crores to the government, after his brother failed to make some major payments. Furthermore, he has also accused his wife Aaliya Siddiqui of being an accomplice to his brother and misappropriating Rs. 21 crores. As per the given report, when Nawazuddin confronted his brother regarding the missing funds, the latter is claimed to have ‘instigated’ Nawaz’s estranged wife against the Siddiqui family, which led to her alleging that how her in-laws tortured and harassed her. With the hearing to be held on March 30, it is yet to be seen how the case proceeds. The process of healing after Amitabh Bachchan’s recent injury on the sets of Nag Ashwin’s Project K in Hyderabad, is taking longer than expected. “Even when the ribs are repaired, he won’t be allowed to shoot for a while,” says a close family friend. Mr Bachchan who will turn 81 in October, is raring to get back on his feet. “He is getting extremely restless. It’s been three weeks since he has been advised complete bedrest. He’s done with his quota of binge-watching and reading. He wants to get back to shooting ASAP, which doctors have advised him against,” the family friend reveals. It is likely that the mega-star, known to have suffered near-fatal accidents and illnesses in the past, would get back on his feet and resume shooting against doctors’ advice. In an interview in the past Mr Bachchan had said this writer, “It is only when I am at work shooting that I feel a complete sense of being alive. Over a week ago, Bollywood actor Salman Khan's security was beefed up by the Mumbai Police after one of his associates, Jordy Patel, received a threat via an email. His close friend Prashant Gunjalkar filed a complaint regarding the same and a case was registered at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and a person named Rohit Garg under IPC sections 506(2),120(b) & 34. Now, Mumbai Police has arrested a man named Dhakad Ram Bishnoi in Jodhpur in connection with the email threatening case. As per reports, Dhakad Ram Bishnoi (21) is a resident of Siyagon ki Dhani in Rohicha Kalan village in Jodhpur. He was reportedly out on bail under the Arms Act. Gaurav Yadav, Jodhpur’s DCP (West), said that a team from Mumbai’s Bandra Police had arrived to arrest him. “They asked us to assist them in detaining Bishnoi. We provided them with the support and handed Bishnoi over to the Mumbai PoliceYadav said, as reported by PTI on Sunday. "After a detailed technical investigation into the case, police got information about the accused person's whereabouts, following which a team was sent to Rajasthan and the man was apprehended," a police official said. According to a previous report in PTI, a police official said that “two Assistant Police Inspector (API)-rank officers and eight to ten constables will be part of Khan's security detail round the clock.” The official also added that fans won’t be allowed to assemble outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra. It was earlier reported that Y-plus security has been provided to Salman Khan by the police. He will also travel in bullet-proof car with his personal security detail. Additional security measures have also been given to the actor. As per reports, a person named Rohit Garg allegedly issued the threat and mentioned Goldy Brar, Canadian gangster's name, saying the latter wants to meet the actor in person. Recently, Lawrence Bishnoi also allegedly said that killing Salman is his life's goal. In a recent report shared by ABP News, Bishnoi was quoted saying, “There is anger in our society for Salman Khan. He humiliated my society. A case was filed against him but he did not apologize. If he does not tender an apology, be ready to face the consequences. I will not depend on anyone else.” He went on to add that he has been harboring the feeling of hatred ever since childhood. Bishnoi continued, “Will break his ego sooner or later. He should come to our deity’s temple and apologize. Rajkummar Rao, whose film Bheed was recently released, addressed the rumors claiming that he had undergone plastic surgery. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajkummar was asked the question. In response, the actor revealed that he finds it amusing and can't help but smile whenever he reads or hears about such speculations. “Nahi bhaiyya, koi plastic surgery nahi hue (No, there was no plastic surgery),” the actor replied before adding, “Kuch nahi smile aati hai chehre pe. Nice, log baat kar rahe hai (Nothing, I just smile. People are speaking).” Previously, the Ludo actor also spoke about how his appearance led to him being turned down for roles in the film industry. In a previous interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rajkummar had spoken about the comments he used to receive on his appearance during the start of his career. The highly-awaited Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is already scheduled to hit screens on the Festival of Lights. It now remains to be seen if Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha clashes with Tiger 3 or does it release a few weeks before or after Diwali. Besides Mumbai, Neeraj Pandey’s directorial will also be shot in Lucknow and in overseas. The film’s music is composed by Oscar winning music director M M Keeravani. As per reports, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a love story that spans 19-20 years, from 2002 to 2023. On this, Shreyans Hirawat confessed that the film is a romantic thriller and though it has action, it won’t be a “typical Neeraj Pandey film”. Interestingly, Tabu also features in Bholaa and was also in Ajay Devgn’s previous release, Drishyam 2 (2022). Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha will see both the actors teaming up for the tenth time. Released in 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan not only became one of the biggest hits but also a film that found mass acceptance. Starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and child actress Harshali Malhotra, the film about the unusual bond between a simpleton Indian and a little Pakistani girl moved hearts. Last year, fans of Salman Khan had a moment of rejoice when the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan titled Pavan Putra was announced. But now, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Salman has brought Pooja Hegde on board for Pavan Putra. In other words, the film will see her replacing Kareena Kapoor. Whether Pooja will play the same character that Kareena played in the first film is not known yet. Interestingly, Pooja is also the leading lady in Salman’s upcoming release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by Farhad Samji, the film is all set to release during Eid in April this year. The teaser revolves around an intense face-off between Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur. Sonu Nigam’s father Agamkumar Nigam has filed an FIR (First Information Report) against his former driver for allegedly stealing Rs. 72 lakh from his residence in Mumbai. The singer's father lives at Windsor Grand building in Oshiwara, Andheri west. The alleged robbery took between March 19 and March 20. The FIR was registered by Sonu Nigam's sister Nikita who reached Oshiwara police station in the wee hours of Wednesday. As per the complaint, Agamkumar Nigam has a driver named Rehan for 8 months but was sacked from the job after his performance was unsatisfactory, as told by an official. As per a report in PTI, an official said that Agamkumar visited Nikita's home in the Versova area on March 19 for lunch. He was back at his residence after sometime. He called his daughter in the evening to inform her that “Rs 40 lakh was missing from a digital locker kept in a wooden cupboard.” Agamkumar Nigam visited his son's house the next day at 7 Bungalows for visa-related work. He returned home later that evening to find out Rs. 32 lakh were missing from the locker and that it wasn't damaged. As per the report, the official added, “Agamkumar and Nikita checked the CCTV footage of his society which showed his former driver Rehan going towards his flat with a bag on both days when he was away. Agamkumar suspects Rehan entered his flat with the help of a duplicate key and stole Rs. 72 lakh from the digital locker in the bedroom.” An FIR has been filed under the Indian Penal Code sections 380, 454 and 457 for robbery and trespassing. Among many others, actress Deepika Padukone has portrayed great historic personalities such as Queen Padmaavati and Princess from Bundelkhand Mastani. The release date of the Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal starrer Hindi remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru is out. The Sudha Kongara directorial venture will be releasing in theatres on September 1 this year. Produced by Abundantia Entertainment and 2D Entertainment, the yet untitled film is tentatively called Production No. 27. Released in November 2020, Soorarai Pottru starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu, among others. The film was also helmed by Sudha Kongara. The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru went on floors in April 2022 in an auspicious way through the breaking of a coconut by Radhika. The video of the same was shared by Akshay back then. He had also asked his fans to suggest a title for the film. “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it ???? Bollywood's comedy trio is back as Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal kicked off the shoot for the third instalment of Hera Pheri in February 2023. However, the film has already landed in legal trouble. Music giant and production house T-Series has reportedly issued a public notice to the makers of Hera Pheri 4, claiming the visual and audio rights to every song in the franchise. The notice reads that the production house is the “sole and exclusive right holder of all copyright of all Music and Audio Visual Song Rights” of the franchise in all mediums. According to the Times Of India, an excerpt in the notice read, “Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series) is the sole and absolute owner of copyright in relation to the music and audio visual songs i.e. Master Sound Recordings, Literary Works and Musical Works embodied in the Sound Recordings, and Audio Visuals of all the songs (hereinafter referred to as “Music and Audio Visual Song Rights”) for entire world in perpetuity for exploitation on all modes, media and formats (whether existing now and / or arising in future)in the Hindi language film currently “Untitled”, to be released as a franchise of the «HERA PHERI’ films (hereinafter referred to as the “Franchise Film”); The Music and Audio Visual Song Rights were assigned by Base Industries Group to T-Series.” Hera Pheri (2000), which was directed by Priyadarshan, was a story of a poor landlord and his two tenants, and how they become rich after they receive a wrong number. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), directed by Neeraj Vora, took the story forward and how the trio went from riches to rags in their quest for greed and wealth. Hera Pheri 4 is expected to take the story forward after the events of the second part. This installment is being helmed by Farhad Samji. Not too long ago, there were reports of how Lawrence Bishnoi threatened Salman Khan and told the superstar to apologize to his community after the actor was accused of killing a blackbuck during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Now, adding further, a staff member of the Sultan actor’s team has found a threatening letter asking Salman to have a talk with Canadian gangster Goldie Brar, in an email that was sent by a certain Rohit Garg. Salman Khan’s manager Prashant Gunjalkar came across the email last week, which Khan had received from a certain Rohit Garg who asked the superstar to have an interaction with Goldie Garg in order to resolve his issues with Lawrence Bishnoi. Furthermore, the email was reportedly said to have been written under the presumption that Salman Khan witnessed the interview that was given by Bishnoi recently. It had the gangster threatening to kill the superstar, if he didn’t apologize for allegedly killing a blackbuck. For the unversed, the blackbuck killing case that can be traced to the late 90s, witnessed serious allegations against the superstar for allegedly hunting a rare species, which is also considered to be sacred among the Bishnoi community. Followed by the threatening email, on Saturday night, Gunjalkar contacted the Mumbai police and registered a complaint against the three names. As per a statement reportedly given by an official in Bandra police station, the authorities have taken serious cognisance of this threat, followed by which they increased the security for the superstar. The critically acclaimed filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, known for his socially relevant films, is all set to release his upcoming project titled Bheed. The film promises to be a thought-provoking take on the complexities of modern society, where individuals are struggling to find their place amidst a pandemic. Ever since she has made her debut on Instagram, with each post on her feed, she has given her followers a peek into her life. Making an addition to the same, the glamorous diva of Indian cinema took a trip down the memory lane and recalled the mahurat day of Krishna Shah’s film Shalimar. She revealed that during one of the shoot days, British actor Rex Harrison advised her to get married immediately because she was beautiful. In the throwback photo, Aman is looking gorgeous in a silver gown. Speaking of its details, an excerpt of her post read, “My glorious silver gown was created by renowned costume designer Mani Rabadi based on a design of my own making. Its plunging neckline and sleek silhouette certainly turned some heads. In fact, Mani literally sewed me into the gown to give it that exquisite fit.” Meanwhile, the Roti Kapda Aur Makaan actress further continued, “We had several international actors in attendance that day, including Gina Lollobrigida. She later backed out of the production, amongst swirling rumours that we had locked horns. British actor Rex Harrison wasn’t at the event, but he was in the film. One day on set, he told me - “A beautiful girl like you should get married immediately”. I had a good laugh over that. Kangana Ranaut is a name that needs no introduction in the Indian film industry. Apart from acting, Ranaut has also tried her hand at direction and production. However, did you know that she wants to own a restaurant as well? In one of her recent Instagram stories, the actress opened up about her dream of owning a restaurant while revealing that she wanted to open a restaurant last year but she couldn’t because of “financial setbacks”. For the unversed, the Queen actress shared a clip of one of her old interviews with film trade analyst Komal Nahta. The host asked Kangana about her wish list other than films. Meanwhile, captioning the same, she wrote, “Another interview from more than a decade ago, yes cooking is very much on my agenda ... had some financial setbacks last year otherwise I was all set to launch my restaurant in the valley, will be coming soon though.” The Tanu Weds Manu actress further added, “Thanks to my fans for these clips I had forgotten about these interactions, but look when we build intentions we set destiny GPS (global positioning system), so cultivate intentions, not desires.” On the same note, it is worth mentioning here that Ranaut’s last project Dhaakad, which was released in 2022, performed poorly at the box office. On the other hand, Kangana had earlier shared that she has mortgaged her house to finance her first upcoming directorial, Emergency. Coming to the professional front, the 35-year-old actress will be next seen headlining Emergency and a Tamil-language film, Chandramukhi 2. Nearly a month after wrapping up Emergency, Kangana also concluded the shoot of Chandramukhi 2. Emergency was slated to release on October 20 this year. Pahlaj Nihalani started the year 2023 by celebrating his 73rd birthday, on January 10. In February, he held an inauguration event for his revamped South Mumbai theatre, Nishat Cinema. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to him a few days ago about what he’s up to nowadays and a lot more. How do you look at the box office at present? If I go back to 1993 or 1994, it was a time when a big film, of the scale of Pathaan, will be released in maximum of 150 cinemas across the country. Yet, the big films at that point did the same kind of business that Pathaan or any other big film does in today’s times, despite the increase in prints and ticket rates in today's times. Those were the days when films would boast of 7 crore footfalls. I don’t think Pathaan will even cross 5 crore footfalls. Its run is about to get exhausted. Also, the ticket prices of Rs. 800 or 1000 can discourage some people to not venture out to cinema halls. 3 Idiots (2009) became a blockbuster with 4 crore footfalls. The cost of tickets has doubled since then but the box office hasn’t seen the same growth. Akshay Kumar used to give consistent hits but his films barely got footfalls of more than 1.25 crores. A film needs 1.50 or 1.75 crore footfalls to be declared a blockbuster. And our country's population is 140 crores. That’s why satellite channels are giving so much money to buy TV rights as they help the film reach out to every household. It’s also amusing that though many of the star-studded films are disasters, OTT platforms are claiming that millions of people have watched them on their platform. I don’t know where they are getting these numbers. Jo film 10 minute bhi dekhne ko mann nahin karta, aisi filmon ko most watched film of the year ka title diya jaata hai (smiles)! I wonder if they are fooling the people or if are they fooling themselves. You were the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). What do you have to say about its functioning, under Prasoon Joshi? Recently, you had spoken against reports that the orange swimsuit shot in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from Pathaan might have been removed by the CBFC… A lot of controversies were made over the orange swimsuit. But the Censors have not cut those shots. And I had said before the release that you cannot remove a shot based on the colour. The issue died down after the release of the film. It was completely political. A chairperson’s tenure in CBFC is usually 3 years. There have been murmurs as to why Prasoon Joshi continues to be the chairperson since August 2017... He’s the chairperson till further orders. He’s there as a chairperson but he’s also not there! What do you mean? When we get the appointment letter, it states that the tenure will start from a certain date and end on a certain date or until further orders. Since there have been no further orders, he continues to be the chairperson. However, he’s not attending office. I doubt if he has visited the office in the last 2-3 years. Gaye honge office toh sirf 2-4 baar. It was said that you used to attend office everyday… Mere paas kaam nahin tha na! Inke paas bahut kaam hai (laughs). Do you feel sad that people remember you only for your stint as the CBFC chairperson and the controversies that erupted at that time and not your body of work? I feel that jo accha kaam karta hai, uski agar burai na ho, toh fir accha kaam hua hi nahin! Nowadays, you don’t hear anything critical about CBFC. That’s because of fear. Abhi sab cheez ka darr hai sabko. No one gives any reaction or quote to the media. I used to do that as I felt it was important to clarify. People didn’t like it. In my time, many wanted to become chairperson. They were eying my chair. Even right now, bahut log mehnat kar rahe hai. Par nahin ban paa rahe hai. I put together a system in place at CBFC. The new members are following it. They haven’t made any changes though times now are different. We have OTT platforms now. They are not under any rules. This needs to be addressed. The brand has rolled out 6 versions of a multi-media consumer campaign, each featuring one initiative undertaken by PVR with Bhumi Pednekar giving a “call to action” through the Campaign’s handle #YourTurnToAct. The campaign was unveiled today at PVR Plaza, New Delhi by Ms Bhumi Pednekar and Mr Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director, PVR Limited. PVR will be contributing valuable screen time towards this campaign at its pan India theatres reaching every part of the country to promote sustainable behaviour among cine-goers. These include a number of initiatives around energy and water conservation like IOT-based Centralized Energy Pressure and Temperature Monitoring, Variable frequency Drives in AHUs, and Occupancy Sensors in washrooms besides water flow restrictors in wash basin taps to conserve tap water. Xenon lamp Digital Projectors are being replaced with Laser Projectors that consume lesser power. Single-use plastic in F&B served to customers has been replaced by sugarcane bagasse food containers, and coated paper straws made of biodegradable polymers, in addition to paperless ticketing and QR code entry to gain access to its cinemas. In a span of just 9 months, PVR has been instrumental in recycling 38,000 PET bottles on account of enabling 1000 of its staff to wear sustainable uniforms made out of this fabric (65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton). At an all-India level, 25 cinemas across 20 cities have completely switched to uniforms made from this fabric. Going forward, all mainstream cinema uniforms will be replaced by these uniforms. The campaign also showcases various initiatives the company is taking as a responsible corporate citizen to mitigate the impact of climate change and leverage its unique position to reach out to its extensive audience to make them aware of the problem and inspire them to make behavioural changes by adopting sustainable life choices.
