EXCLUSIVE: Vishal Dadlani recalls how someone thanked him for making Pathaan; Sheykhar Ravjiani has a fun response to it

Known for some of the biggest chartbusters in Hindi cinema, the musical duo of Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani hit jackpot with Pathaan. Readers, by now, would be aware that the film is doing record-breaking business at the box office and its songs, ‘Besharam Rang’ as well as ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’, which are picturized on Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, have topped the global charts. Describing the feeling, the musician-composer duo Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar recall moments of how the film’s success have impacted them in this exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. Musician-singer Vishal Dadlani described the madness and how love and appreciation are pouring on from all quarters in the society. He told Bollywood Hungama, “This is a legit celebration. In all our careers, we have done so many films and still, we have never seen anything like this. We can say it is some other level of existence.” Sheykhar Ravjiani quipped in,“Bahut zyaada pyaar mila hai (Have received so much love). I think it’s because of Shah Rukh Khan Sir and because of how everyone in the fraternity. And of course, because of the way audiences have been going to the theaters non-stop and celebrating the songs. For us, all of this is a big deal.” Vishal also recalled an incident where someone expressed their gratitude towards him for making Pathaan and how he had to clarify on it saying that Siddharth Anand made the film. “We were travelling for a show a few days ago. Someone woke me up and thanked me for the film. I said, ‘bhai maine nahi banayi hai picture. Hum log sirf gaane banaye (Bro, I have not made the film. We have just composed the music for the film)’. This has happened for the first time.” However, Sheykhar joked about it adding, “You should have said humne banayi hai picture. Woh Siddharth Anand hai na, woh music director hai. (We have made the film. That Siddharth Anand is the music director).” Pathaan featured Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the role of spies with John Abraham as an antagonist. The film is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy-universe and released on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
