The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the shortlist of 15 films for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2025 Oscars on Tuesday. While global favorites such as Emilia Perez and From Ground Zero secured spots, India’s official entry, Laapataa Ladies, was conspicuously absent. The exclusion of the Aamir Khan-produced Hindi film, directed by Kiran Rao, has reignited debates on India’s Oscars strategy.

Backlash Over Film Federation of India’s Selection The decision to send Laapataa Ladies as India’s official entry had sparked controversy earlier this year, with many arguing that Payal Kapadia’s Cannes-winning All We Imagine As Light was a stronger contender. Following the failure of Laapataa Ladies to make the shortlist, criticism of the Film Federation of India (FFI) has intensified.

One social media user expressed frustration, writing, "FFI snubbed AWIAL, destroying our chances to be on the list. The Film Federation of India requires a full revamp." Another added, "A shattering humiliation for India. If the only measure of success is to make choices that make you competitive, they have utterly failed."

Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies received critical acclaim for its portrayal of two brides interchanged in rural India during the 1990s. The cast featured newcomers Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel alongside seasoned actors Ravi Kishen and Chhaya Kadam.

On the other hand, All We Imagine As Light, an exploration of Mumbai’s working class, has consistently been a presence at international awards shows. It won the Grand Prize at Cannes and was nominated for the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards.

While Laapataa Ladies failed to advance, there was some good news for Indian cinema. Santosh, a UK-based Hindi film by Sandhya Suri, featuring Indian actors Shahana Goswami and Sunita Rajwar, made it to the Oscars shortlist as the UK’s official entry.

The year 2025 will kick off with the most awaited aerial action-drama film, Skyforce, set against the backdrop of the heated Indo-Pak tensions during the 1960s-70s. The film marks the collaboration of two visionary filmmakers, Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. It features superstar Akshay Kumar alongside promising debutant Veer, Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Jio Studios, and Amar Kaushik (director of Stree 2).

Skyforce is all set to hit theaters on January 24, 2025, during the Republic Day weekend. The film has been shot at various locations, including Mumbai, Lucknow, Sitapur, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pathankot, the UK, and now Mussoorie, where a special song has been filmed.

Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur took to Instagram to express their gratitude toward the entire crew. Sandeep Kewlani shared, “I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who worked on Skyforce. Sandeep Kewlani, who not only directed but also wrote the script, has been accompanied by talented writers such as Niren Bhatt (Stree 2, Bala, Stree 1) and Aamil Keeyan Khan (Drishyam 2, Shaitan). Together, they have created a gripping narrative that promises high-octane action and a pure cinematic spectacle that Hindi film audiences are craving.

The action in the film is choreographed by Craig Macrae, who is known as an action choreographer, action director, and stunt coordinator. Some of his notable work includes Jawan (2023), Pathaan, War, and other Hollywood blockbusters like Mad Max: Fury Road, Grimsby, and Alien Outpost. He was mentored by Indian action director Parvez Shaikh, known for Kill, Fighter, and the YRF Tiger & Spy franchise, among others.

Soon, the motion poster, teaser, trailer, and songs will be released by Maddock Films to build anticipation. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande, Skyforce is gearing up for its theatrical release on January 24, 2025. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, best known for portraying the iconic superhero Shaktimaan, recently revealed that he once rejected an offer from Yash Raj Films (YRF) to sell the character’s rights. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on YouTube, Khanna discussed why he turned down the proposal and expressed his views on potential actors for a Shaktimaan reboot.

Mukesh Khanna’s Encounter with YRF Mukesh Khanna shared that Aditya Chopra’s team approached him a decade ago with a proposition to acquire the rights to Shaktimaan. Recalling the conversation, Khanna said, “Ten years ago, I was contacted by Aditya Chopra’s group. They asked me if I could give them the rights to Shaktimaan.” He added, “At that time, coincidentally, Ranveer Singh’s fan-made picture as Shaktimaan surfaced on social media. And then, suddenly, I got this call for the rights. I said, ‘Rights nahin doonga main (I won’t give the rights).'”

Khanna explained that he was concerned about the creative direction YRF might take with the character. He stated, “I told them, ‘Tell Aditya, whoever he is, if you want to make it, make it with me.’ I didn’t want to give away the rights only for them to make a disco drama. I refused.” Casting Preferences for Shaktimaan Earlier, in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Khanna expressed his views on actors who could potentially reprise the role of Shaktimaan on the big screen. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, veteran film critic Taran Adarsh offered his perspective on the current crop of Bollywood stars and their potential to achieve lasting stardom. Adarsh, known for his candid views, shared his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, and the factors shaping Bollywood’s trajectory in the face of competition from South Indian cinema.

Ranbir Kapoor: A Star with Potential, but Consistency Needed When asked about actors with the potential to become the next big stars, Taran Adarsh singled out Ranbir Kapoor. However, he didn’t shy away from critiquing Kapoor’s film choices.

“My only request to Ranbir Kapoor is that he should not do subpar films like Jagga Jasoos. Such horrible films will leave a stain on his filmography,” Adarsh stated. Translating his remarks, he said, “The hard work he has put in and the position he has reached today will be undermined by films like these. It’s better if he chooses projects that resonate with the masses and the audience.”

Ranbir needs to focus on films that take him to the masses, not those that pull him back.” Kartik Aaryan: A Star on the Rise Adarsh also acknowledged Kartik Aaryan’s growing appeal, particularly with his performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. “Kartik has taken a step forward and reached out to the masses with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He’s on the right track, but consistency is key,” he said. The Importance of Desi Entertainment Taran Adarsh didn’t hold back in analyzing Bollywood’s struggles in comparison to South Indian cinema. He argued that Bollywood has often strayed from its roots, opting for experimental storytelling that doesn’t always resonate with the Indian audience.

“South Indian cinema is scoring because it gives us our desi entertainment. I prefer desi food. If you give me French, Italian, or Spanish cuisine, it won’t go down well with me,” Adarsh remarked. He continued, “Our Mumbai filmmakers need to understand this. Desi entertainment has always worked and will continue to do so. This is India, and we will watch the kind of films we enjoy—authentic Indian cinema.”

A Call for Audience-Centric Cinema In his closing thoughts, Adarsh spoke about the importance of creating films that cater to Indian sensibilities. “Most of the audience prefers Indian films, desi films. That’s where Bollywood must focus if it wants to reclaim its dominance.”

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is preparing for his next ambitious project, titled Spirit. The film stars Prabhas in the lead role as a cop. This high-budget action film is set to go on floors in early 2025, with a planned release in 2026. Pre-production work is already underway, and the team is finalizing its star-studded cast.

According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is in discussions with Mrunal Thakur to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. A source revealed to Pinkvilla, “Spirit is the most ambitious and awaited film of Indian cinema, and the makers are going all out to have the best and most talented actors of world cinema on board the film. While Prabhas is locked to play the role of a cop, the conversations are in progress with Mrunal Thakur, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor with the latter two for the negative turn.”

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that, a couple of months ago, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report about Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan being considered as the movie’s antagonists. A New Approach to Cop-Based Films Spirit is expected to break the mold of traditional cop dramas in Indian cinema. The story is described as a “never-before-seen template for a commercial Indian film,” blending characters with good, bad, and grey shades—a hallmark of Vanga’s storytelling.

The source further stated, “Every character has a purpose, and it’s among the most ambitious films for Sandeep Reddy Vanga.” With such an innovative narrative, Spirit aims to redefine how Bollywood approaches the cop genre. What’s Next for Sandeep Reddy Vanga? While Spirit is scheduled for a 2026 release, Vanga’s plans extend beyond the Prabhas starrer. After completing Spirit, he will move forward with his upcoming project Animal Park, featuring Ranbir Kapoor.

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun broke his silence on Saturday morning after being released from jail in connection with the stampede incident at a Hyderabad theatre screening Pushpa 2. The tragedy, which occurred earlier this month, claimed the life of a woman and left her son critically injured. Arjun had been arrested on Friday after returning from the success meet of Pushpa 2 in Delhi.

Actor Expresses Condolences and Vows Support Accompanied by his father Allu Aravind and father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, Allu Arjun exited the jail through the back gate and addressed the media. In his first statement since the arrest, he said:

“I would like to first thank everybody for their immense love and support. I thank my fans. I am well; there is nothing to worry. I am a law-abiding citizen, I respect the law, I will cooperate with them, and do the needful. I would like to give my condolences to the family. It is very unfortunate—we went to watch a movie, and due to an unfortunate incident, we lost a person. It was totally out of my personal control.”

He further added, “I have been going to watch my films for the last 20 years; I have been there 30 times. I will be there to support the family in whatever possible way. I know we can never cover the loss, but I will be doing what I can. I thank everyone for the support.”

Legal Battle and Controversy Allu Arjun’s lawyer, Ashok Reddy, described the arrest as “illegal detention,” alleging that jail authorities delayed his release despite receiving the Telangana High Court’s interim bail order on Friday.

“They received an order copy from the High Court, but despite that, they didn’t release him,” Reddy stated. “This is an illegal detention. We will take legal action. As of now, he has been released.”

Arjun had been remanded to 14-day judicial custody by a lower court, but the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail, citing his right to liberty. The court also noted, “He couldn’t be detained just because he’s an actor… he cannot be held like this.” Background of the Incident The stampede occurred on December 4 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during an unscheduled visit by Allu Arjun. The actor’s surprise appearance reportedly caused chaos as no prior intimation was given to the police or the theatre management. The theatre owner, general manager, and security manager were arrested days later for inadequate crowd control measures.

The victim’s husband filed a complaint, leading to charges against Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. Authorities emphasized the lack of additional provisions for managing the crowd, which ultimately resulted in the tragic loss of life.

Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham remains one of the biggest hits of his over two-decade long career. The film is also one of the biggest multi-starrers ever as it brought together Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor Khan in a single film. The movie was an emotional tear-jerker with its story rooted in the romance between the characters of Shah Rukh and Kajol.

One of the high points of the romance between both the characters was the superhit song ‘Suraj Hua Maddham’, which was composed by Sandesh Shandilya and sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Jatin-Lalit and Aadesh Shrivastava were the other two composers for the film. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was one of the earliest films to have more than one music composer on board.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he said that he was highly impressed by Karan Johar, who was directing just his second film after the mega success of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). “I learnt from Karan Johar a lot because he is a very passionate human being,” he said. “He goes so much into detailing and does so much of homework that he had narrated each and every scene to me in ‘Suraj Hua Maddham’.”

Shandilya was amazed by how Karan went great lengths to find a sea in Cairo, Egypt near the pyramids just for one line from the song. “There is a line in the song, ‘Sagar Hua Pyasa, Raat Jagne Lagi’,” said Shandilya. “The whole song was shot in Cairo, Egypt. At a place where there were pyramids, he wanted a sea for this one line because that place has desert and sea both. So, me and his assistant Nikkhil Advani (who is today a well-known filmmaker) went to do a recce in a helicopter. We found a sea and Nikkhil instructed, ‘Wait wait, there’s water and desert both. Land over there’. We shot over there. Karan did all this just for one line in the song. This was a major experience for me.”

As Shandilya was a newcomer back then, he was asked how he landed an opportunity to compose music for such a big film. Interestingly, he didn’t have just one answer for this. “There are two answers to this question,” he said. “If you had asked this question around 20 years ago, I would have said that I called up Karan bhai and said that I make music and would like to work with him. He came and listened to this song, he liked it very much and took it for the film. But if you ask this today, I will say that it is someone else who makes the music and does the hard work and gave me this break; I didn’t do anything. He (God) does everything. We just observe. Today I can say with guarantee that I didn’t do anything.”

The film, set for a 2025 release, is being shot on an impressive set built in Mumbai’s Madh Island. Over 7 acres of land have been transformed to resemble the city of Kolkata, where much of the film's storyline unfolds. This grand scale of production includes intricate street setups and bustling urban scenes. But what makes this project truly stand out is Joshi’s attention to the well-being of the stray dogs that had called the location their home.

Rather than displacing the dogs, Joshi took proactive measures to provide for them, ensuring that food and water were available to the 50 strays every day. The film’s crew and staff were also encouraged to help care for the animals, making it a collective effort.

The Delhi Files, which delves into significant political events in India’s capital, aims to be a gripping drama.

When asked about the changing beauty standards for men and the perception that hairy chests are no longer considered "aesthetic," Bobby Deol admitted, "Yes, I’m waxed. Divya recalled the story behind her character Nandini and how it came to life. She shared, “I think this look, first of all, is very interesting. This character was initially a male character. Then Anand and I got talking. Of course, I totally loved Bandish Bandits’ first season, and during our discussion, he asked, ‘Would you do it?’ I said, ‘Of course, I’d love to, why not? Anand said give me 24 hours and I will get back. I think that’s when he realized that this character was always meant to be female, and it worked beautifully. Everything about it came together so organically from his side. The character of Nandini was carefully crafted and the credit for her belongs entirely to Anand. I just held his hand and trusted his vision.”

Divya further added, “Nandini’s philosophy of music as a mentor is unique, and it reflects in how she dresses, how she carries herself, and who she is. The gypsy vibe in her personality, I feel, mirrors her own free spirit—flying high, yet empathetic towards her students, which you can also see in the trailer. Without giving away too much of the story, yes, Nandini is fair-minded. Anand said something beautiful, who he sees in Naseer Sahab in real life is who Nandini is for Shreya, Rohan, and everyone else. That thought really resonated with me.”

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Rajkummar Rao shared that while he and Patralekhaa are always supportive of each other, they also play the role of each other's toughest critics. He explained, “She’s one of my most honest critics. She has been the first audience to most of my work. And when she likes my work, it’s a big validation for me. She’s a very knowledgeable girl. She has seen a lot of cinema and worked a lot. She’ll never say something just to please me and I totally respect and believe in her opinion.”

Rajkummar Rao shared the perks of having an actor wife and said, “Most of the time, we end up liking and disliking the same films. We share the same taste in cinema. We both also criticise each other’s work. We like giving constructive criticism to one another in terms of the areas we can improve on and how we can grow. And that’s the fun of having a partner who’s also from the same industry and is equally passionate about cinema. She has a great understanding of performances. We discuss work and that’s how we grow with each other.”

Rajkummar Rao praised Patralekhaa’s performance in IC 814, calling it a “study” for him as an actor. He said, “She was fantastic in it, especially the scene where she says that she wants to make a phone call. For me, it was like going back to class. I asked her how she did that scene. She was so beautiful in it and I know that not many people can do what she did.” Rajkummar has previously shared screen space with Patralekhaa in CityLights and Bose: Dead/Alive.

When asked to describe himself as a partner, Rajkummar Rao humorously replied, “I would rate myself nine as a husband. Wow, that’s not bad at all, right? I was about to say ten but then I thought that kuch toh gadbad hogi mujh mein. There’s always room for improvement (laughs).” The actor, who recently wrapped up filming for his upcoming movie Maalik, added a light-hearted touch to the conversation.

As the year draws to a close, Rajkummar Rao reflected on one of their most memorable moments, sharing, “It’s a little ironical. We got two new puppies and after a couple of months, one of the babies named Gaga died. That was extremely sad. It really shook us. In a sad way, this event and the way we reacted to it is something that I’ll remember for a very long time. But bringing them into our lives was a joy.”

Often vocal about her admiration for Shah Rukh in interviews, Mahira frequently faces accusations of seeking attention by mentioning his name. Speaking at the 2024 Aalami Urdu Conference in Karachi, the actress responded to trolls with confidence. When asked about her experience of working with Shah Rukh, she admitted it's a question she’s frequently asked, but added she never is never tired of discussing the King of Bollywood.

“Mujhse koi poochhta hai toh main uska jawab deti hoon. Phir logon ko lagta hai ke main unke baare mein baat kar rahi hoon. Main apne aap kabhi nahin baat karti unke baare mein,” Mahira explained, addressing the trolling she faces on social media. Often accused of using Shah Rukh Khan's name for publicity, Mahira reacted to the criticism, saying, “Mujhe yeh hota hai ke aap mujhse poochhiye hi nahin unke baare mein phir.”

In a conversation with casting director Mukesh Chhabra on his YouTube channel, director Rahul Dholakia once revealed that several actresses, including Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma, were initially considered for the role. However, due to various reasons, they couldn't take up the part. Ultimately, Mahira Khan was cast, coincidentally being in Mumbai during the casting process.

Days after comedian and actor Sunil Pal claimed that he was kidnapped, actor Mushtaq Khan’s business partner Shivam Yadav has shared that the actor too was kidnapped on November 20. He claimed that Khan was invited to be a part of an awards show in Meerut. He said that once he landed in Delhi, he was taken in a car supposedly to Meerut for the show. However, he was taken somewhere near Bijnor and that’s how he realized that he was kidnapped. Dubey also claimed that Khan didn’t suspect anything initially because he was paid in advance to attend the show and was also provided with flight tickets.

Shivam Yadav told India Today digital, “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened with him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognises the neigbhourhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely get the culprits soon.”

Yadav also claimed that the kidnappers tortured him for 12 hours and demanded Rs. 1 crore from him. They later were able to get Rs. 2 lakh from his and his son’s account. Yadav said that early in the morning Khan heard the azaan and realized that a mosque is nearby. He ran away to the mosque where he sought help from some people and returned home with the help of police.

Mushtaq Khan is best known for starring in Anees Bazmee’s iconic comedy Welcome and the recent blockbuster Stree 2.

Recently, Sunil Pal also claimed to have been kidnapped and released after he paid Rs. 7.5 lakh to the kidnappers. As Khan’s incident is similar to that of Pal, Yadav was asked if he thinks this is a new syndicate to kidnap celebrities. He said, “We had no clue about the case. After Mushtaq sir returned, we spoke about the incident with a few of our close friends. When Sunil's case was highlighted in the media, they informed us about the same. It is shocking that two public figures from the industry had to go through a similar ordeal. We hope there is awareness and protection in the future for everyone.”

The report also said that Khan will speak to the media in a few days.

Actor and producer Gehena Vashisht was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday in connection with the ongoing Raj Kundra pornography case. The interrogation lasted for more than six hours, during which Gehena disclosed crucial details about her interactions and the operations related to the case.

This marks a significant development in the investigation as Raj Kundra himself has skipped ED summons on two occasions. Hotshots App and Alleged Connections with Raj Kundra One of the primary points of Gehena’s questioning revolved around the Hotshots app. Speaking to IANS after her interrogation, Gehena shared, “I have always maintained that I never interacted with Raj Kundra directly. Our interactions used to happen through Umesh Kamath. However, the premises we visited for meetings had ‘Viaan Industries’ written at the entrance. Also, we saw Raj Kundra’s family photo there. So, I am assuming that it’s Raj Kundra’s company. Otherwise, why would anyone else have Raj Kundra’s family photo in their premises?”

Hotshots, an app under scrutiny in the pornography case, was reportedly shut down in November 2020. Gehena stated that she met Raj Kundra for the first time in January 2021 to discuss two upcoming apps, Bollyfame and Jaldilife. “Raj was about to launch Bollyfame and Jaldilife, and our meeting was related to that. Shilpa Shetty was supposed to be the brand ambassador for it,” she added. Details on Payments and Transactions Gehena also revealed insights into her payment structure while working on films associated with the case. She disclosed, “I used to receive three lakhs for each movie. After completing each film, I would raise an invoice. The payments were made to my ICICI bank account in GBP (Great Britain Pounds), which I then converted into Indian currency.” Recent Raids and Legal Proceedings The ED’s questioning of Gehena comes days after raids were conducted at 15 properties linked to Raj Kundra and his associates in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. These searches are part of the ED's investigation into financial transactions related to the pornography case.

The case against Raj Kundra was first registered by the ED in May 2022. It involves allegations of producing and distributing pornographic content through digital platforms, raising serious questions about the financial operations connected to the apps.

Popular singer Sonu Nigam recently took to social media to address a disheartening incident during a concert in Rajasthan. The event, Rising Rajasthan, witnessed the singer sharing a heartfelt plea directed at politicians, including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, for their behavior during the show.

Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that his hit film Animal will be a three-part franchise. In a recent conversation with Deadline at the Red Sea Film Festival, he shared an exciting update about the sequel, Animal Park. Ranbir revealed that the team is currently working on the script for Animal 2, with shooting expected to start in 2027.

Speaking about the project, he said, “We should start that film in 2027. It’s still a bit away. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga just kind of flirted with what he wants to do with the movie. He wants to make it over three parts. The second part is called Animal Park. We have been sharing ideas from the first film itself, and how we want to take this story forward. It is very exciting because now I get to play two characters – the antagonist and the protagonist. It is an extremely exciting project with an extremely original director. I am very excited to be a part of it.”

Now to add to that, during the screening of this film, an unknown man is expected to have sprayed some unknown substance in Gaiety – Galaxy which resulted in audiences falling sick.

As per reports, the police has kicked off an investigation regarding the same whereas the media outlets too had a conversation with the audiences present at the location. According to them, a man sprayed some substance during the interval of the night show of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The Gaiety- Galaxy theatre is a place where crowds flock to experience the singing and dancing vibe along with an interactive audience, especially during commercial releases. Considering the popularity of both – the film and the theatre atmosphere, it was quite crowded but fortunately, reports suggest that no major health hazard has been reported.

However, many who spoke to the media present at the scene, where they confessed that they experienced uneasiness, queasiness, nausea, vomiting, and coughing after the spray. The theatre authorities paused the film’s screening for about 10-15 minutes, keeping the doors wide open for the air circulation after which audiences were reseated and the screening was continued. Police arrived at the location almost immediately after the incident was reported and are currently looking into the CCTV footage to find the culprit.

Renowned Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya recently found himself in the spotlight after international pop star Dua Lipa performed a mashup of her hit ‘Levitating’ with the iconic Bollywood song ‘Woh Ladki Jo’ during her concert in Mumbai. The unexpected mashup, created by DJ Ruchir Kulkarni, sparked widespread excitement among fans while also raising questions about due credit to the creators of the original track.

Abhijeet’s Reaction to Dua Lipa’s Performance

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Abhijeet Bhattacharya revealed that he was inundated with messages after Dua Lipa’s mashup went viral. He shared that several celebrities and corporate executives reached out to congratulate him, although he had not initially seen the performance.

Abhijeet admitted to sending a witty message to Dua Lipa, thanking her for bringing his "classic" to the masses. The singer humorously remarked on how a song, which was initially considered a flop, has found renewed life thanks to the mashup. Reflecting on the event, Abhijeet said: "Mere phone pe bhara hua hai jabse woh BKC mei programme chala. Mujhe maloom hi nai tha. Bade bade celebrities phone kar rahe hai… sab khush ho rahe hai. Maine toh ek baar bhi nai dekha phir maine ek thank you kia Dua Lipa ko ki ‘my classic meets masses’.”

The original song, ‘Woh Ladki Jo,’ featured in the 1999 Bollywood film Baadshah, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Twinkle Khanna. It was sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya and composed by Anu Malik. Despite its initial lukewarm reception, the track has since gained cult status, much to the surprise of its creators.

Actor Ravi Dubey has officially confirmed his involvement in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated cinematic adaptation of Ramayana. In an exclusive chat with Cine Connect, Dubey shared his excitement about being part of the ambitious project and his admiration for co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

A Sincere Retelling of a Timeless Epic Speaking about his role in Ramayana, Ravi said, “With due permission from my makers, I am [a part of the film]. I think Nitesh sir has a plan on how they want to talk about this project. If I kind of blurt out things irresponsibly and frivolously, it would not be right.”

He stated the cultural significance of Ramayana and the responsibility that comes with retelling such an important story. “It’s an important story for all of us. The story has been told and retold in many ways, but being a part of this culture and heritage is very special. We are collectively making a sincere attempt, and with someone as sincere as Nitesh sir helming it, it’s bound to be extraordinary,” he added. Praising Ranbir Kapoor’s Grace and Professionalism Ravi Dubey also shared his experience working alongside Ranbir Kapoor, describing him as the "elder brother" he never had. “Ranbir is kind, warm, and the most immaculate professional I have ever met. This is my very first experience on a big film set and my first experience working alongside a megastar like Ranbir bhai.”

Dubey highlighted Kapoor’s dedication and humility, saying, “His kindness and empathy towards everyone, his silence, and his grace are inspiring. I read somewhere on Instagram in a post by Karan Johar that Ranbir doesn’t make his process conspicuous. He’s working so hard behind the scenes, but he never makes it look like he is. Every part of him is an artist. He’s the only commercially viable artist of this generation.” The Buzz Around Ramayana Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most eagerly awaited projects in Bollywood. With a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, the film aims to bring the epic to life in a way that resonates with contemporary audiences while honoring its cultural and spiritual legacy.

The much-awaited film Pushpa 2 – The Rule has finally released today and as expected, has taken an earth-shattering start in various languages across the country. The excitement was tremendous as Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 (2021), the first part, had emerged as a sleeper super-hit at the box office in its Hindi version. It also has wide viewership on television and on OTT, making it clear that Pushpa 2 – The Rule will go anywhere once it is released. The belief was that the second part would be the last part of the series. But it has now come to light that it’s not the case.

Pushpa 2 – The Rule ends at a significant note and this is followed by the title announcement of the next part - Pushpa 3 – The Rampage. The second part is expected to have a very positive word of mouth, going by the early reactions and hence, the audience would be happy to know that the journey of the protagonist, Pushpa Raj, doesn’t end with the sequel. As a result, Pushpa 3 – The Rampage is already the most awaited film of Indian cinema.

When Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 was about to release, the makers of course assured that a sequel was in the offing but they never unveiled its name during the marketing campaign. It's only when the moviegoers ventured out to see the film that they learned that the sequel is named Pushpa 2 – The Rule. Before the sequel’s name was announced, the makers, in a witty move, instead of mentioning ‘The End’ put ‘2nd Interval’ on the screen! The words ‘2nd Interval’ then disappeared and 2 remained and it got added to the title of the sequel. It was a small but innovative strategy and was well received. Something of this sort, however, wasn’t done with the announcement of Pushpa 3 – The Rampage. Nevertheless, the purpose is served.

Pushpa 2 – The Rule stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles and is directed by Sukumar.
