The ‘Next On Netflix 2025’ event started with a bang with the appearance of Saif Ali Khan. And it ended on a rocking note as Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise entry to promote his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut show, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. The hilarious announcement video was unveiled after which SRK himself came on stage and it led to lot of hoots, claps and whistles.

Shah Rukh Khan began by saying, “It's been a while since we saw such a huge turnout of the press at an event. I'd like to thank Netflix for giving me and Aryan this opportunity. Thank you, Monika, Bella and Ted. I am glad that Aryan's first outing will be on this platform. He and his team - Bilal, Ankit and Manav - have worked very hard for years on this project.”

He continued, “This is like a family show as Netflix is like a family. My son is taking his first big step. My daughter Suhana has got into acting. Agar yeh duniya inko 50% bhi pyaar de de jo mujhe diya hai, toh woh bahut zyada hoga.”

Shah Rukh Khan then clarified on the title of the show, “It's pronounced as 'The Bads Of Bollywood'. There's a reason why Aryan has named it this way which you'll know once you see the show. Monika has told me to repeat the correct pronunciation ten times kyunki asterisk ke saath logon ko shayad samaj na aaye!”

He then got people excited as he remarked, “The producer of this show is Gauri Khan. Main sirf naam ka producer hoon. I have a simple funda. Yeh sab producer, director, actor sab ek taraf. I am just a bloody star!” The journalists agreed and shouted in excitement.

Shah Rukh then added, “The characters of the show are very fascinating and I felt that the story is apt for a series format. Aryan and his team agreed with me. There are many actors and actresses in the film. I haven't asked them to come on board. They signed the show for the love of Aryan. I can't name them just now. He has strictly instructed me, 'Show ke baare mein kuch nahin batana'. He said, 'Hum apna show bhi nahin dikhayenge (at the event). Sab apna show dikhayenge. Hum aapko dikhayenge! I am like ghar ki murgi. Aryan and Gauri are like, 'Isse acting karwa lo'.”

He also said, “I saw some of the episodes and they are quite fun. People get offended by my jokes. Hence, I have stopped joking. Virarsat mein maine apne bete ko joke karna de diya hai aur bola, 'Ab tu ja aur baap ka naam roshan kar'!”

The supernatural drama Naagin which has dominated the small screens for a while now, is all set to return for the seventh season. In a surprising post, Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to her hometown India after several years, decided to quit the film industry and become Mahamandaleshwar at the Kinnar Akhada which sparked a major controversy among the community groups. Following allegations that she bribed the Akhada leaders Rs. 1 crore, the actress addressed the same in the India TV show Aap Ki Adalat where she opened up about her bank accounts being frozen after she was alleged of being involved in a drug cartel ring with bae Vicky Goswami.

However, insisting that she has been observing penance for the past 23 years, Mamta Kulkarni revealed that she was always keen on taking the spiritual route and had decided to not return to films. In the interaction with host Rajat Sharma, Mamta insisted that she has no money and said, “Mere pass Rs.10 crore kya Rs.1 crore bhi nahi hai. Mere bank accounts seize kar diye hai government ne. Aapko malum nahi hai main kis tarah se reh rahi hun. Mere pass paise nahi hai, kisi se udhar leke Rs.2 lakh, voh bhi jo guru ko dakshina deni hoti hai (What Rs. 10 crore, I don’t even have Rs. 1 crore. My bank accounts have been seized by the government. You have no idea how I have been living. I don’t have any money. I had to borrow Rs. 2 lakh to offer ‘guru dakshina’)”.

Recently in a conversation, Rajeev Juneja discussed Anushka Sharma who has been a brand ambassador for Prega News ever since her first pregnancy. “She is very good. Very straight, very disciplined. Matlab kam aisa hota hai. Koi tantrums nahi hai. Koi filmy wali baatein nahi hain (She generally works like that. No tantrums. No filmy talks). Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to Mumbai and sparked rumours about making a comeback in films, insisted that she doesn’t plan on returning to films but instead would like to follow a spiritual path. This further led to the actress becoming a member of the Kinnar Akhada during the Maha Kumbh and performing the rituals, after which she received the title of Mahamandaleshwar. However, now only a week later, Rishi Ajay Das, who is the founder of the Akhada has expelled the actress and also popular social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from their respective positions.

On Friday, Das released an official press statement regarding the removal of the two members, which was shared by many reports wherein he said, “As the founder of Kinnar Akhada, I am hereby relieving Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from his position as Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, effective immediately. His appointment was made with the goal of promoting religious activities and uplifting the transgender community, but he has deviated from these responsibilities.”

Furthermore, he also expressed his anger over the matter and was quoted telling PTI, “This is not Bigg Boss's show that you do it during Maha Kumbh and then for three years you don't do any work... Both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandleshwar, Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, will be removed from their post.” He went on to speak about the accusations that were thrown against the actress regarding her involvement in the drug cartel and stated, “A person like Mamta Kulkarni who has allegations of indulging in anti-national activities against her was suddenly brought here and without 'sanyas', she was directly anointed as Mahamandleshwar. This is not right. So, I am taking action against them.”

On the other hand, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi has defended his actions and asserted taking action against Das. He also came in defense of the actress insisting that all charges against her were later dropped by the court. In a statement given to ANI, Tripathi shared, “We had expelled Ajay Das in 2017. He then chose a household life and misappropriated Kinnar Akhara's funds during the 2016 Ujjain Kumbh. In the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh, our akhara officially allied with Juna Akhara and we accepted Mahant Hari Giri as our guru.”

Actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani recently shared updates on the much-awaited sequel to F.A.L.T.U. During a Q&A session, he revealed he’s on the lookout for a “good and exciting story” for the sequel to the 2011 film. While busy with his upcoming production Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Bhagnani emphasized that the success of the sequel hinges on an original and engaging storyline.

He said, “I am looking for a good and exciting story for F.A.L.T.U-2. Once we find something unique and appealing, we will definitely make the sequel.”

Directed by Remo D’Souza and produced by Vashu Bhagnani under Puja Entertainment, F.A.L.T.U. featured Jackky Bhagnani, Puja Gupta, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Angad Bedi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Arshad Warsi, with Akbar Khan and Darshan Jariwala in supporting roles. The film was released on April 1, 2011.

Meanwhile, Bhagnani made headlines after attending the opening ceremony of the International League T20 in the UAE. Speaking about his love for cricket, the actor mentioned that he has always enjoyed playing the sport, both as a child and even now.

He added, “I’ve always enjoyed playing cricket as a kid, and I still enjoy it to date. Attending the ILT20 Opening Ceremony was a one-of-a-kind experience. One of the most fascinating announcements made at the event was that several films, which were available on OTT platforms until now, can now be seen for free.

Amazon Prime Video is an SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) platform, which means that one has to buy a subscription to access its library of exciting films. MX Player, on the other hand, is an AVOD (Advertising-Based Video on Demand) platform. It signifies that one can watch content on the streaming giant for free but with ads. With Amazon and MX Player now coming together, certain films of Amazon Prime Video will now be available on MX Player under the AVOD arrangement and users can enjoy it without paying a single penny.

One of the biggest films in this regard is the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01. Some other licensed films available now on MX Player are Drishyam 2, Ram Setu, Heropanti 2, JugJugg Jeeyo, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bellbottom, Satyameva Jayate, Satyameva Jayate 2, Thank God etc. Amazon original films like Jai Bhim (Tamil and Hindi versions), Gehraiyaan, Coolie No 1, Udaan, Sardar Udham, Dybbuk, Durgamati etc. can also be accessed on MX Player.

The library will be expanded in the future. In the announcement video, glimpses of Ponniyin Selvan and Sita Ramam were seen but these biggies are yet to make it on the platform.

The lovely documentary The Roshans dropped on Netflix and has been received love from all quarters. The show has been loved for its treatment, star value and because it speaks about not-so-known aspects of the late Roshans, his talented sons Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan and his dashing actor grandson, Hrithik Roshan. In an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan spoke about the show and being troubled by Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan during the making of Karan Arjun (1995).

In The Roshans, Shah Rukh Khan can be heard saying, “We harassed Rakesh ji a lot because both of us were naughty and troublemakers. Pinkie ji scolded me a lot saying, ‘You’re troubling Guddu a lot. I didn’t expect this from you’. Between Salman and me, main thoda shareef tha. At least on the face of it! I replied, ‘I didn’t do anything. It’s all his doing’. So, we were two young kids, troubling a father figure.”

We asked Rakesh Roshan whether he got angry when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were upto mischief. Rakesh Roshan set the record clear by stating, “It’s not like they were not co-operating. They used to play pranks and it became too much. Hence, other actors also joined them. As a result, when I would go for a take, nobody was in sync. I had to bring everybody in sync. But I guess it happened as they were youngsters and were having fun. They decided to do masti but in the process, things took a turn for the worse and other actors also joined them. They would tell me, ‘We’ll do that way’ while I would insist, ‘But I want it this way’.”

Rakesh Roshan continued, “They were doing it only to make me angry. But the best part is that I never got angry. Every morning, I used to pray to God that ‘Today, I should not lose my cool’. And until the very end of the shoot, I never lost my cool (smiles).”

While Shah Rukh Khan can be extensively seen in The Roshans, Salman Khan is conspicuous by his absence. When asked about it, Rakesh Roshan revealed, “I did call him up 4-5 times but I guess he was stuck in some issues. Hence, I didn’t force him (to appear in the documentary).”

Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, who has been handling the career of the 90s Bollywood star, has opened up about her husband not working for the past two years. While his last film was a magnum opus starring Tamil superstar Dhanush, now the director of Captain Miller is all set to enter the Bollywood arena. The Saif Ali Khan stab case saw a new development on Monday evening when the police found the owner of the SIM, which was being used by the accused – Shariful Islam. Now, in recent development, the police has traced the identity of the SIM card which is expected to be owned by a woman residing in West Bengal, wherein the latter has insisted that her mobile phone has been missing for days.

The investigation proceedings kicked off when the Mumbai police nabbed a certain man named Vijay Das, three days after the incident, who was later identified as Shariful Islam living under an alias. As the probe continued, the police revealed that they realized he was a Bangladeshi national who crossed the border to India in search of better opportunities and have been living under different identities. Recently, they asserted that the accused spent a good amount of time in West Bengal and decided to get a new number for him to stay in touch with his family in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, he soon shifted to Mumbai for jobs and continued working odd jobs in order to avoid presenting documents. In order to gather evidence, the police investigated the Nadia and Murshidabad districts around West Bengal where they arrested Shariful.

Furthermore, the reports also state that the police also investigated his identity wherein they made him contact his brother who shared documents like a school leaving certificate as proofs of his nationality.

For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan was attacked during the early hours of January 16 in an alleged attempted robbery incident at his residence in Mumbai. The actor suffered multiple stab wounds after which he was immediately rushed to the nearby Lilavati Hospital where he underwent a few emergency surgeries. However, the actor was discharged on January 21 and is well on the way to recovery.

With the investigation taking a new turn every day in the Saif Ali Khan case, latest reports suggested an alleged mismatch between the fingerprint samples collected by the police as evidence from Khan’s Mumbai residence and the accused. For the unversed, three days after the incident on January 16, the police detained a man named Sharif Muhammad – a Bangladeshi national in relation to the case. While the evidence is currently being investigated, shutting down reports of a mismatch, the Mumbai and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has revealed that they are yet to receive reports of fingerprints match.

CID confirms that reports are yet to be submitted

In a report published by Hindustan Times, Deputy Commissioner Dikshit Gedam opened up about them awaiting the report. “The fingerprint department is yet to submit their report to the Bandra police. We’ll wait for the report before commenting further,” he was quoted saying. Meanwhile, an unnamed official from the CID team too has confirmed the details asserting that they are yet to send across the report. Meanwhile, according to these reports, one of the IPS officers has addressed the ongoing buzz about fingerprints mismatch stating that it is a ‘premature’ assumption, insisting that the investigation of the evidence is currently underway.

Police registers statement from Saif Ali Khan and the house help

As per the recent reports, Saif Ali Khan and house staff, Jeh’s nanny Elyimma Philips have been registered as key witnesses in the case. Philip in her statement revealed that on the early morning hours of January 16, she spotted an intruder while on her way to her room near one of the bathrooms of the apartment. She immediately reacted by screaming for help, but the intruder tried to subdue her voice by attacking her with a knife. Meanwhile, Khan was awakened by her cry for help and immediately jumped into action in a bid to protect his house staff. However, the scuffle that followed resulted in the actor sustaining multiple severe and mild injuries across many parts of his body, following which he was immediately taken into surgery at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra.

After the host politely points out that the Bajirao Singham, who was known for his grand action sequences who would take on the villains alone in his bulky avatar, was missing from the recent 2024 release, Ajay agreed to the statement saying, “I think yeh reaction mujhe kaafi logon se aaya hai. toh aage dhyaan rakhenge ki woh jo Singham ka feel tha - guss guss ke maarne ka - woh aage zaroor rahega (I think I received a similar reaction from many. So, we are going to ensure that the next time – the authentic feel of Singham where he does intense action – will definitely be a part of the film)”.

Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced under the banner Jio Studios, the film was the third movie in the Singham franchise and fifth one in the world of Rohit Shetty’s ambitious copverse. The film featured Kareena Kapoor Khan reprising her character of Avni Bajirao Singham along with a host of celebrities like Arjun Kapoor who played the lead antagonist with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar in key cameos. "The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is Sitaare Zameen Par, and the climax of that movie was shot in Vadodara", he said, leaving fans thrilled. Furthermore, he went on to share details of its release. "My next film as a lead actor is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun,” he added.

But we rehearsed so much that, by the time we got to the set, it was just the technicalities, like speakers overlapping, that posed minor challenges. It was a fun and rewarding process.” she added.

Speaking of Loveyapa, the film, directed by Advait Chandan, is set in the realm of modern romance as it promises to offer a heartwarming tale that celebrates love in all its shades. You recently joined the Bharatiya Janta Party? Yes, it was a very big deal for me, you know meeting PM Modiji, then joining the BJP was also a big moment for me.

Would you say that was the highlight of the year for you? Anupama doing well throughout the year was also a highlight. My family is happy, healthy that is again one of the biggest highlights. But on the downside, losing my mother-in-law, that was the only thing last year that was the downside I can't sum it up as a perfect year for me because when you lose an elder, when you lose a mother, it is the protector, the custodian the umbrella that is gone from over your head and though she was unwell, she was 93 years old, she was unwell and she was bedridden for the longest time but you are never ready to let a parent go and you know it's so, family wise that was the one down thing.

The rest has all been one big sweep of joy. Rest it has been a great year. You know, I haven’t been able to watch any films recently. I watch a lot of Anupama. I watch a lot of other shows that are there on Star Plus because that is my job, and I watch animation. I watch a lot of animation movies. So, I loved Moana.

Any regrets? No nothing as such. I just think I should learn to keep my mouth shut in interviews or not give interviews at all. I think that's one thing that I should learn because I have no filter and you know, I should understand that I can't keep shooting my mouth off.

What are you looking forward to this year? First and foremost, I look forward to my family's health and their happiness, then my unit's well-being, good work, do some great scenes, great work. And yes, a lot of work towards the welfare of fur babies. So that is something that I look forward to, to get steps closer to my dream of having my dream animal shelter. Because as long as you don't live in it yourself, you have to be there with the kids yourself. And the dream I know I have, you know, it's soon going to be a reality and that is the goal to work towards it. To do more work for the fur babies and to make my family proud of me and all the people that I love should remain healthy and happy.

Your closing thoughts? God bless everybody, God bless everybody. My India should be shining, my country should be shining, and it should grow leaps and bounds under the supervision, under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi. And India is shining, and it has to shine even brighter. So, I guess that is something that I look forward to this. While there have been many narrations of what transpired during the ‘night’ of January 16, actor Saif Ali Khan, who is expected to have made almost full recovery, gave his first statement to the cops after the attack. Several key points made by the actor have made its way to the news reports which has left the audience wondering if this was a kidnap attack, rather than an alleged robbery.

Readers would be aware that Saif Ali Khan was asked to give his first statement to the Mumbai police, so that the latter could get clearer picture of the nature of the crime. In his statement, the actor has reportedly revealed that he was in his bedroom with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan when he heard the scream. He immediately recognized it to be his younger son Jeh’s nanny Eliyama Philip and rushed to the room, where he saw the intruder. As a father, he immediately jumped into action which resulted in a spat leading the ‘intruder’ to stab Saif Ali Khan six times.

However, the actor insisted in his statement that he was strong enough to push away the intruder despite the wounds, also describing the quick action taken by his house staff who not only moved Jeh away from his room but also locked the intruder in the same room.

What happened to Eliyama Philip

For the unversed, it was mentioned that Eliyama, who also sleeps in Jeh’s room, was injured during the incident since she was the first one to stop the intruder after he entered Jeh’s room. She went on to add that the intruder demanded Rs. 1 crore from her in return for Jeh’s safety which left her in panic and she immediately screamed to alert the rest of the house members.

The aftermath of the attack

Saif Ali Khan was immediately taken in an autorickshaw to the nearby Lilavati Hospital, after he was stabbed, where the actor received immediate treatment. He was later taken into surgery the same day with the doctors confirming that he suffered severe injuries on his back as well as neck and hands, with the latter being covered by plastic surgery.

Police arrests Bangladeshi national

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police, after a long investigation, arrested the ‘intruder’ who has been identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national. The latter was hiding in Thane, near Mumbai, and according to recent reports, his fingerprints too have been found in multiple parts of the house, including the door handle of Jeh’s room as well as the AC duct on the eleventh floor of the Bandra society where Khan and his family resides.

The new year has just begun, and we already have a major film anniversary. Yash Chopra and Trimurti Films’ classic Deewaar completes 50 years today. Despite being released five decades ago, the film continues to rule the hearts of the viewers by being a roller-coaster of emotions. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Nirupa Roy in pivotal roles, the movie told the story of two brothers Vijay (Bachchan) and Ravi (Kapoor) who end up on different sides of the law and face its consequences.

Deewaar was produced by the founder of Trimurti Films’ banner, the late Gulshan Rai. His son and prolific filmmaker Rajiv Rai went down memory lane in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama and shared some interesting incidents related to the film.

Gulshan Rai’s contribution Deewaar

When asked why, according to him, Deewaar continues to rule hearts, Rajiv Rai went deep into thought and said, “There are some films in every country, region and language that are iconic, classic or memorable. It’s very hard to say what actually works. The foremost reason I will always say was my father. I am not saying this as a son. But I feel a producer is the most important factor in a film. Even though I have directed 4-5 films that have done really well, I will never take credit (for them). I will always give it to my father because if there is no money, how do I do it? A producer makes key decisions, and they make a film. I feel my father was one of the greatest producers of India. I will maintain that till I am alive.”

Yash Chopra’s expertise 

Unsurprisingly, Rai also mentioned the fine qualities of the legendary Yash Chopra in making Deewaar what it turned out to be. “There was, obviously, the great expertise of Yash Chopra ji. He was a very experienced director. He got the subject, emotions and work out of the actors. He translated that script into celluloid,” he said.

The role of the mother was rejected by a few actresses

Going into the trivia mode, Rai revealed that the role of the mother was rejected by quite a few actresses before Nirupa Roy came on board. “For the mother’s role, 4-5 ladies of that time didn’t want to do it,” he said. “They rejected it. Maybe they didn’t want to play a mother. I don’t want to take names. The mother, as you have seen, is the key person in the film. That took time. There was a struggle for that.”

Deewaar went as per plan

Rai also shared that otherwise, the entire making of Deewaar went as per plan. “Some of the discussions happened in front of me,” he said. “My father would talk a lot about this film to me. It was shot in a correct span of time. There was not even an hour of over-shooting. Not even one shift went wrong. They planned 72 days or shifts, whatever it was, and it finished. I remember the number ‘72’. It wasn’t an over-budget film. It’s a film that went right from the day go. It is a magical film.”

Amitabh Bachchan’s ace performance as Vijay

Deewaar remains one of Amitabh Bachchan’s classic performances. Rai said, “Amitabh Bachchan ji holds a lot of responsibility in Deewaar because he, with his hard-work, experience and talent, executed a performance, which is going to be the most memorable performance ever in Hindi cinema,” said Rai.

Salim-Javed’s iconic dialogues like “Mere paas maa hai” and “Aaj khush toh bohat honge tum” are still favourites among film lovers

Rai added that an actor alone can’t do much if there is no script. “So, the first feather in the cap I will give to Salim-Javed,” he said. “I never want to take their credit away. The dialogues and screenplay they wrote were par excellence. Those lines deserve to be famous when you have people like Salim-Javed in the film who come with tons of talent. It’s not like they have done one film; they have done many. Sometimes you get a character in a film or a subject where you can write (such dialogues). You can’t start throwing lines in every film.”

He added, “They realized that this was a subject where they could play with the situation, and they played it to the hilt. They put the entire history of Bollywood cinema into the film. That is the way they wrote it and the challenge they took.”

Unsung heroes of Deewaar, who haven’t got their due

Rai also mentioned the unsung heroes of Deewaar, who haven’t got their due. “You had an absolutely ace cameraman Kay Gee (Koregaonkar). Why not give him credit for whatever he captured?” asked Rai. “People tend to forget the editor Pran Mehra, who was above all. If you ask people who lived in that era, they will say that every film he did was a hit. He could give life to any film. Everybody craved working with him. And he was a hard-headed man. I have never worked with him. But the stories I have heard say that you couldn’t tangle with him. You couldn’t argue with him. He would ask you to take out this song, etc. He was fabulous. He was legendary. I don’t think he has got his due. He is the unsung hero of Bollywood.”

Gulshan Rai’s rapport with Yash Chopra

Gulshan Rai did a number of films with Yash Chopra, apart from Deewaar. “Our rapport with Yash Chopra ji was fabulous,” said Rajiv Rai. “We did eight films together. We would have continued doing so, but Yash ji came on his own. He had his own banner and ideas. My father also felt that he (Chopra) needed to now make his banner, cement it and be on his own. So, we parted as friends. We also distributed some of his films after we parted. So, there was never a conflict.”

Gulshan Rai didn’t believe in being emotionally attached to any film, including Deewaar

Rajiv Rai gave a surprising answer when asked whether his father Gulshan Rai would talk fondly about Deewaar years later. “My father was never emotionally attached to anything,” he said. “My dad was not like he would live in the glory of Deewaar. We always feel that God has blessed us. There is a saying that you never live in the past, you always live for tomorrow. What is done is done. Thank God and now it is time to do better. And it is not easy to do better. My dad would never reminisce Deewaar.”

Deewaar teaches cinema

Classics always end up being examples of how to make films. Rajiv Rai believes Deewaar is one such film. “This is one of those films that teaches you cinema – how to make cinema, write a great script, act, produce, edit, do the right camerawork and how to do it in the right budget,” he said. “It teaches people who are learning cinema, who are not just viewers. It’s a textbook (on cinema).”

Previous victims include actor Rajpal Yadav, comedian Sugandha Mishra, and choreographer-director Remo D'Souza, who have also reported receiving threatening emails in recent weeks.

The email that Kapil Sharma received was alarming in its tone and content. As per the police, the message warned him that his "recent activities" were being monitored and demanded his immediate attention to what was described as a "sensitive matter." The email, which signed off with the name 'BISHNU,' urged Kapil Sharma to treat the message with the utmost seriousness, warning of consequences if he did not respond within eight hours. The threats were both personal and professional in nature, implying that failure to reply would result in repercussions.

As per NDTV report, the email said - "We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality."

Following Kapil Sharma's complaint, the Amboli Police registered an FIR against an unknown person under section 351(3) of the BNS (Bombay Police Act). Police sources revealed that the email was traced back to a server in Pakistan, though further details about the identity of the sender are still unclear. Authorities have begun an investigation into the matter, and efforts are underway to track down the individual behind these menacing communications.

The timing of the threat is particularly concerning, as Kapil Sharma has been one of the country's most beloved TV personalities. However, the issue seems to be a growing trend among celebrities in the entertainment industry. Sugandha Mishra and Remo D'Souza, who also filed complaints with the police earlier, received identical threatening emails. In fact, Rajpal Yadav received a similar email in December last year, and he filed his complaint on December 17 since he had left the mail unnoticed which he found later in his spam folder.

The rise in such threats against public figures has raised serious concerns about online safety and the security of celebrities in India. As police continue their investigations, it remains to be seen whether these threats are part of a coordinated effort or the work of an individual.

Kapil Sharma has yet to publicly comment on the matter, but his fans and fellow industry members are expressing support for him during this troubling time. That image was perhaps not in sync with the visuals of seeing him walk out of hospital on his own two feet," she told ETimes.

However, she insisted that as audiences we should applaud him for his bravery and courage. "But don't these very people forget that they lauded him for walking himself into the hospital as well? A man who checks himself into hospital in a wounded, traumatised condition surely has the grit to walk out of hospital on his own. We should be applauding this instead of resorting to being conspiracy theorists”.
