Kangana Ranaut and filmmaker Sandeep Singh are set to launch a film soon. The title and the director of the film will be announced soon. The film will hit the floors early next year.

Announcing her collaboration with filmmaker Sandeep Singh, Kangana Ranaut said, "Sandeep and I have been friends for over 13 years and wanting to do a film for a long time. Now since we have found the right subject and the role we are all set to roll soon, it is going to be the biggest film of my career and a fantastic role, further details will be announced soon."

Filmmaker Sandeep Singh said, "It's a dream come true for any filmmaker to have a National Award winner and Padma Shri honoured actress on board like Kangana Ranaut. I had been eagerly waiting to work with her for over a decade. Finally, my vision is coming true with this film ."

It was a challenge to find a good script keeping Kangana's acting prowess in mind. Now since I have a meaty subject that only she can do, I instantly got in touch with her. Satyaprem Ki Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani is only a few days away from its release. Earlier this week, ‘Pasoori Nu’ was unveiled which is a remake of Pakistani Punjabi song crooned by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill for Coke Studio Pakistan. The new version has been sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music is given by Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi. The lyrics of the song are given by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi. While the song has received a mixed response from the audience, original singer Ali Sethi is supporting Arijit Singh’s version.

While sharing his views, in his recent live broadcast on Instagram, Ali Sethi said, “Arijit Singh is no 1. Main Arijit ke gaane sunta hoon and khaas taur par ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Aayat’ and ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’. Mujhe lagta hai ki yeh kaise ho sakta hai ki ek contemporary modern singer jo bilkul ek contemporary andaaz main gaaye like ‘Haan Main Galat’, woh jab semi classical andaaz ko chhedhte hai, you don’t feel for a moment that you are missing that shudhta which is required for classical (I have heard Arijit’s songs specially ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Aayat’ and ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’. Satyaprem Ki Katha also marks a collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora & director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films. Filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to release the first song 'Tum Kya Mile' from his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani today. The song features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and has been crooned by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. With this song, Karan Johar pays homage to late filmmaker Yash Chopra who was the true pioneer of love songs shot in the valleys and actresses wearing chiffon sarees.

Ahead of the song release today in the afternoon, Karan Johar penned a heartfelt note. The song, choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, was shot in Kashmir. Karan said, "In a few hours #tumkyamile will be yours…. I remember at the very onset my instinct was that I wanted to film a love song that would unabashedly pay homage to my guru Yash Chopra…. The thinking evolved mind would say “you can’t match it or even dare to emulate it “ but the fan boy and the ardent lover of snow, chiffons,the stunning locations of Kashmir and sheer romance got the better of me. Pritam Dada and I yearned for a song for the ages from the ages and it had it be unapologetic or it wouldn’t be true …My deepest gratitude to Vaibhavi Merchant who got the Memo better than I did and completely took charge and being a Yash Chopra lover herself … she gave her heart to our song."

This was the first song Alia Bhatt shot after giving birth to her daughter Raha. Whereas it marks Ranveer's first snow-filled mountain love song. "This is also the first shoot Alia did after the birth of her angel and I remain in apology for freezing her in Manish Malhotra chiffons … in sympathy I fell drastically ill through the shoot ( a karmic punishment perhaps ????) Ranveer was nervous as this was his first lip sync mountain love song but he was a real trooper."

Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan has been in controversy since its release. Now, on popular demand of viewers, Shemaroo TV is set to bring the timeless tale of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan to the television screen. Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan is an eternal masterpiece that has captured the hearts of millions across generations. The show will ari from 3rd July onwards at 7:30 pm.

The cast of the show includes Arun Govil as Lord Ram, Dipika Chikhlia as Sita, Dara Singh as Hanuman, and Sunil Lahri as Lakshman. Their impeccable portrayals have made them eternal favorites among fans. Ramayan will air every Monday to Sunday at 7:30 PM on Shemaroo TV.

Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the TV show, has been critical of Adipurush. Actors Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan are all set to reprise their roles in the upcoming action-packed season of D.P. 2. Following the first glimpse at the Netflix Tudum 2023 event, the first teaser was unveiled on June 27, 2023.

In the first teaser, a soldier appears in the first scene who has drowsy eyes and seems to have to give up. He ends up committing a heinous crime by firing a rifle at people. One sees Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) and Han Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan) reprise their roles and team up to take to the streets and rescue the deserters who ran away from their positions. Actors Son Suk Goo, Kim Sung Kyun, and more also make their appearance. The season seems more intense and heavier than the first one.

The logline reads, “It'll always be the same. The deserters run, and the D.P. pursues. No matter what happened or happens nothing will ever change unless we do something, anything.”

D.P. 2 will arrive on Netflix on July 28, 2023.

Parineeti Chopra is back in New Delhi with her fiance Raghav Chadha after visiting Rajasthan for location scouting. The couple is apparently preparing for a winter wedding.

At the airport on Monday, Parineeti Chopra was dressed in a navy blue top along with a black shrug and pants. Raghav Chadha was wearing a beige shirt and pants. The two of them headed towards their car at the airport. Last month, Parineeti had visited Udaipur for location scouting. This time, the two of them visited Rajasthan together. The plan is to visit Jaipur as well.

Back in May 2023, it was reported that Parineeti met Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department of Udaipur. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shikha had said, “I met Parineeti at the airport, where we had a good 20-minute conversation, following which we spent the day going to the venues with her. She was not directly talking about marriage but the conversation revolved around things which were indicative around that.”

“She was inquiring about the weather in Udaipur, when does the monsoon start and winter start. She had September in her mind. I told her that we have late monsoon, so it would be rainy till the last week of September. At that instance, she looked at her PA and noted down the information,” Shikha had added.

Salman Khan has once again received a death threat. The actor has already filed a complaint with Mumbai Police after receiving a threatening email earlier this year. He has received theatres from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as well. Now, Goldy Brar, who claimed to be allegedly behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, has said that he will kill Salman Khan.

In an interview with India Today channel, Goldy Brar said that his gang will “definitely kill" Salman. “We will kill him, we will definitely kill him. Bhai saheb (Lawrence) had stated that he wouldn’t apologise. Baba will show mercy only when he feels merciful,” Brar said, and referenced to Lawrence Bishnoi.

Brar continued, “Like we have said earlier, it’s not just about Salman Khan. We will continue our attempts against all our enemies as long as we’re alive. Salman Khan is our target, there’s no doubt about that. We’ll keep trying, and when we succeed, you’ll know."

Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela couldn’t hold their excitement as they announced their pregnancy in December last year. Since then, fans have been awaiting the good news. On June 21, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. The superstar and his wife also posted a frame-worthy photo with the newborn on social media. Now, Upasana decided to give her social media followers a glimpse of her pre-delivery.

In a video posted by Upasana Kamineni Konidel on Instagram on Sunday, the entrepreneur was seen being taken into labour room. Upasana posted the video as she captioned it saying, “5 days ago. Happiest moment of our lives! Surrounded by soooo much love <3”.

Earlier that day, Ram and Upasana received a warm welcome from their family as they arrived with their new born. Upasana had also shared about the moment on social media saying, “Overwhelmed by the warm welcome for our little one. Thank you for all the love and blessings”.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan is all set to complete 23 years on June 30. On this day, in the year 2000, his debut film Refugee was released in cinemas. In recent times, his web show Breathe: Into The Shadows was highly praised, especially his challenging act. Interestingly, he hasn’t had a theatrical release in almost 5 years. His love triangle Manmarziyaan arrived on the big screen in September 2018. He was then seen in films like Ludo (2020), The Big Bull (2021), Bob Biswas (2021) and Dasvi (2022), all of which were released directly on OTT.

But in 2023 and 2024, Abhishek Bachchan is expected to be seen in several films. In a recent interaction with ETimes, he revealed that he has bagged Shoojit Sircar’s next film. He also stated that it’ll go on floors in August this year.

Interestingly, Shoojit has worked with his father, Amitabh Bachchan, several times. Both collaborated for a Gujarat Tourism campaign. Then Shoojit directed Big B in Shoebite, which unfortunately never saw the light of day. Then the veteran actor was seen in Shoojit’s Piku (2015), co-starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. The film was a huge box office and critical success and also fetched 3 National Awards, including one for Amitabh. It remains to be seen if Shoojit’s film with Abhishek Bachchan also turns out to be yet another critical and commercial winner.

Speaking of other releases of Abhishek Bachchan, he has completed SSS7 (2019). It is a remake of the Tamil film Oththa Seruppu Size 7. SSS7 promises to make for a unique watch, as Abhishek is the only actor that features in the film. This will be followed by R Balki’s Ghoomer, co-starring Saiyami Kher and Shabana Azmi.

Another Tamil remake that Abhishek is a part of is KD (2019). The Hindi remake’s title is expected to be changed. Just like the original, the remake is also helmed by Madhumita while it is produced by Nikkhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment. Lastly, Abhishek recently wrapped up a film, which is directed by Remo Dsouza. There were speculations that it is called Dancing Dad and is the same film that Salman was supposed to do at one point. However, recent reports suggest that Abhishek’s film has a different script altogether.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reached a remarkable milestone as he celebrates 31 glorious years in the Indian film industry today. It was on this very day, June 25, 1992, that Shah Rukh made his Bollywood debut with the film Deewana. To mark this momentous occasion and to express his gratitude towards his ardent fans, Shah Rukh took to Twitter once again, engaging in an interactive session known as Ask SRK. However, during the session, a fan asked if he could someday get to smoke with the actor. SRK’s witty reply left internet in splits.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who recently visited Brazil, has posted a video on her social media account, offering a glimpse into her experience at Netflix's Tudum event. The video featured some behind-the-scenes moments with her Heart of Stone co-stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

Tiger Shroff, who completed 9 years last month as an actor, has worked with several reputed actors in his illustrious career. A male co-star with whom he has worked twice is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Both appeared for the first time together in Sabbir Khan’s musical action entertainer, Munna Michael (2017). Later, they were seen in the actioner, Heropanti 2 (2022). Nawazuddin was seen as the antagonist in the Ahmed Khan-directorial. And now, it has come to light that Nawazuddin’s latest release, Tiku Weds Sheru, also has a Tiger Shroff connection.

In a scene in the first half, Sana (Khushi Bharadwaj), Tiku’s (Avneet Kaur) sister and Sheru’s (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), complains to Sheru that he doesn’t bring new clothes for her as he does for Tiku. To which, Sheru asks her who her favourite actor is. Sana mentions Sunny Shroff’s name. Sheru then answers that his designer is a woman named Swati Yogi and that he’ll get Sana’s clothes designed by her. When Sana asks Sheru if he’ll introduce him to Sunny Shroff, Sheru takes a dig at Disha Patani. He replies, “Nahin, nahin. 22nd ke baad. 22nd ke baad woh kaunsi Disha se aayega, woh Patani!”

Interestingly, if one observes closely, one can see that both Khushi Bharadwaj and Nawazuddin Siddiqui mention Tiger Shroff’s name instead of Sunny Shroff. However, it seems that as an afterthought, Tiger was replaced by Sunny. Moreover, the Disha Patani reference makes it clear that the makers were hinting at Tiger Shroff.

Tiku Weds Sheru was released yesterday on Amazon Prime Video, on June 23. It tells the story of Sheru, a junior artist and a pimp, who marries a naïve girl from Bhopal, Tiku. He lies to Tiku that he’s a reputed film financier. Meanwhile, Tiku hides from Sheru that she has married only to be in Mumbai so that she can act in movies and also to be close to her boyfriend, Binni (Rahoul). It is directed by Sai Kabir and produced by Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films.

Last week, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal will skip a release in cinemas and instead release directly on OTT, on Amazon Prime Video. As expected, the news spread like wildfire. And now Bollywood Hungama brings to you another exciting update regarding the film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bawaal will drop on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, July 27. The makers and the OTT giant were toying with a couple of dates and then finalized July 27 as the release date. They feel that this will give them sufficient time to effectively market the film. The team at Amazon are quite confident that Bawaal will get them huge viewership due to the casting and the plot.”

Bawaal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal (2016) and Chhichhore (2019) fame and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 6. On Monday, June 19, the makers and Amazon Prime Video dropped a poster which made it official that the film is indeed premiering directly on OTT. The poster also led to murmurs that it is a love story against the backdrop of World War 2.

Meanwhile, all eyes are now on the film’s trailer which is expected to be out in the first week of July, after the release of Sajid Nadiadwala’s theatrical film, Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.

As per recent reports, Bawaal will have a premiere at Eiffel Tower in Paris, France in mid-July. The reports claim that Paris has an important part to play in the film and hence, the decision was taken to host the premiere in the French capital. The report further stated that apart from the film’s team, the premiere will also be attended by film buffs and French delegates.

While in the earlier promo we got a glimpse of the chemistry we will get to see between these two characters, recently the channel unveiled the release date of the show as July 10.

Furthermore, it is also being said that Barsatein will be airing on Sony Entertainment Television at 8 pm. Along with the announcement, the makers also unveiled another promo showcasing glimpses of the characters essayed by Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon. Shivangi is expected to play the role of a journalist named Aradhana who works for the arrogant Casanova Reyansh. The latest promo showcases how much Aradhana dislikes Reyansh for his arrogance, flirtatious attitude, and pride.

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal will become the first Indian movie to have its premiere at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The movie, a love story by Sajid Nadiadwala’s production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures, is set for direct-to-digital release on Prime Video.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Bawaal will be the first Indian Film to have its premiere at the Eiffel Tower. The premiere will take place at the exquisite Salle Gustave Eiffel, offering a panoramic view of the city of love as the backdrop. Apart from Varun, Janhvi, Sajid, and Nitesh, the premiere will be attended by movie enthusiasts and French delegates, making it one of the biggest premieres for an Indian film.”

“Bawaal has a symbolic reference to Paris. The makers have extensively shot some of the key portions in Paris, and the city acts like a character in this tale. The film is essentially a love story with references to World War 2 and the makers are ready to premiere the film in the city of love,” the source added.

Director Nitesh Tiwari recently said, “Shot across three Indian locations and five European countries, Bawaal has a captivating storyline, dramatic visuals and absolutely amazing chemistry between the lead talent Varun and Janhvi. I believe that the worldwide premiere on Prime Video will help us take Bawaal to audiences in India and across borders. We have worked with immense passion and commitment to bring this film to our audiences and now we can’t wait to hear their reactions.”

Ever since its release Adipurush has been making quite a bit of uproar ever since its release. While actors and the filmmaker Om Raut is facing a major backlash from audiences, who are quite disappointed with the film, Kriti Sanon shared a cryptic post on her social media that has garnered attention. The actress reposted a verse shared by her mother Geeta Sanon about Ramayana amid all the controversies surrounding the film.

Readers would be aware that Kriti Sanon essayed the role of Janaki in this magnum opus Adipurush which is expected to be a retelling of the epic saga of Ramayana. The post shared by Geeta Sanon read, "Jaki rahi bhavna jaisi, Prabhu murat dekhi tin taisi." She also explained the meaning of the verse adding, "Iska arth hai ki achi soch aur drishti se dekho toh srishti sundar hin dikhai degi. Bhagvan Raam ne hi hume sikhaya hai ki Shabri ke ber me uska prem dekho naki ye ki wo jhoothe the… Insan ki galtiyon ko nhi uski bhawna ko samjho. Jai Shri Ram. (the beauty of nature depends on your perception and thoughts. Lord Ram has taught us that one must see the love in the fruit gifted by Shabri, not that it was fake or wrong… Don’t look at one’s flaws, instead, understand their emotions behind it)."

The post was reposted by Kriti on her Instagram story and captioned it as ‘Jai Shri Ram’ hailing the lord and later, her sister Nupur Sanon too added the post on her social media adding, “Ekdum Sahi (absolutely right).”

For the unversed, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut features Prabhas as Raghav, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, Sunny Singh as Laxmanan, Saif Ali Khan as Lankeshwar, among others. The film, which released on June 16, faced a severe backlash from Indian audience, who are not only trolling the film for misrepresentation of details from the epic saga of Ramayana but also accusing it to be a cringe-fest with ‘tapori’ dialogues and criticized for its bad VFX.

The much-awaited teaser of Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 was out earlier this month, and it was enough to increase the excitement of the audience since this is one of the most keenly awaited films of the year. The teaser was also attached the print of the first film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was re-released on June 9.

Although the teaser succeeded in getting a positive response, the fans were surprised not to find a glimpse of Ameesha Patel in it. She reprises her character Sakeena from the first film while Sunny Deol will be back as Tara Singh.

But the fans need not wait longer as they would soon see more than a glimpse of Ameesha Patel as Sakeena in the upcoming teaser of Gadar 2. A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “The teaser that’s coming out is a beautiful visual finally of the couple. This teaser is expected to come up very soon for which the audiences are waiting for. It will have Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena together.”

One of the highlights of Gadar was the song ‘Udja Kale Kawan’. This song will be repeated in Gadar 2. Added the source, “‘Udja Kale Kawan’ is going to be back in Gadar 2. The audience should get geared up for some beautiful visuals of the stunning Sakeena very soon.”

But that’s not all as the source added, “The producers are also planning to release the character posters as well, including of Tara and Sakeena, very soon.”

Also starring Utkarsh Sharma in a pivotal role, Gadar 2 will be released in theatres worldwide on August 11.

Neeyat is directed by Anu Menon who last directed Vidya Balan in Shakuntala Devi. Anu Menon’s recent directing credits also include multiple episodes of the internationally acclaimed series ‘Killing Eve’. Neeyat has been written by Anu Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Advaita Kala, and Girvani Dhyani with dialogues by Kausar Munir. It is produced by Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment (that also produced Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, and Jalsa), and co-produced by Prime Video.

Speaking about her film, director Anu Menon shared, “Neeyat is very special for all of us. Not only is it a genre unique to India, but it was also my first time working on a classic murder mystery with such a huge cast, in a completely foreign location. Reacting swiftly to a report that the slain crime reporter J Dey’s sister Leena is ailing and is in dire need of financial help, Hansal Mehta, who has directed a thunderously successful web series Scoop on J Dey’s dastardly slaying, has decided to offer any and every kind of help needed to her.

While Hansal does not wish to go on-record on this critical matter, a close friend of the feted filmmaker revealed, “Hansal read the report and immediately galvanized into action. Long before he made the series, he was deeply shocked and moved by Dey’s murder. Now having made the series, he feels closer to Dey’s story than before.”

Hansal will be going all-out to provide assistance to Dey’s sister Leena. But as the source further revealed, “He wouldn’t like to talk about this. To extract publicity out of what is a normal natural act of humanism is sick. That’s how Hansal feels. What happens between Hansal and Dey’s family won’t go into the public domain.”

Scoop, which is streaming on Jio Cinema, is inspired from the arrest and trial of real journalist Jigna Vora for the murder of J Dey. The show, which sees Karishma Tanna essay the central character, is adapted from Jigna Vora’s book ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’. Kangana Ranaut is getting brutally trolled for taking a dig at Hrithik Roshan in her upcoming production Tiku Weds Sheru starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. On Wednesday, Prime Video released a video in which Nawazuddin was seen introducing himself as a Bollywood actor named Sheru who has worked with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. He then mentions Hrithik Roshan.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui says, “My name is Sheru and people lovingly call me… Sheru only. I’m a Bollywood actor. I’m a big film producer of all types of movies, small and big. See, Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir… Hrithik wasn’t available so that’s why he’s not here." Many claimed that since Kangana Ranaut is the producer of the movie, she also had a say and definitely approved the dialogue to take a dig at Hrithik Roshan. Netflix dropped the trailer of the much anticipated second edition of its Emmy-nominated anthology Lust Stories 2. Giving us their own version and vision of Lust, 4 directors; Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R. Balki and Sujoy Ghosh have created a collection of films with a crackling starcast including Amruta Shubhash, Angad Bedi, Kajol, Kumud Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Tillotama Shome and Vijay Varma. The film will showcase the many shades of lust, helmed by a talented ensemble of actors in a never seen before avatar. Produced by Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala, the film will premiere on Netflix on 29th June 2023.

Speaking on the second anthology of Lust Stories, R Balki, says, “Lust is natural and most important in a relationship. It’s critical for all to recognise it. I wanted to create a lust story that a family can watch together. Lust for me, like many, is a forbidden topic and I wanted to break away from the norm which was only possible because of my wonderful co-writer Pooja Tolani. Akshay Kumar has briefly commented about his array of failures at the box office in the past year. In 2022, the actor faced a string of flops including Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and Ram Setu. Even this year’s Selfiee failed to make any waves at the box office. The actor has now admitted that box office numbers do bother him.

In a chat with Financial Express, Akshay was asked about box office numbers and if they bother him, he said, “Of course, they do.” He added, “We are made or we are broken because of the box office numbers. That’s what you call hits and flops. The audiences tell us when we are right and where we are going wrong, and all that is reflected in the box office numbers because if a film does not work, that means people didn’t come to see it, which in turn means that they didn’t connect to it. And it means that’s the time for you to change.”

He added, “I have had many cycles of ups and downs in my life. The one common thing is that when the going’s good there are all praises and when it’s not it’s more criticism than you can imagine. Yes, I am human, and good feels good, and bad feels bad, but I am also proud of the ability I have to move on extremely quickly. What keeps me going is the same will I had on the first day I started work, I love working! And no one can take that away from me! You just have to keep going on, there is no other way. There is a higher power that sees everything and it compounds and gives you back the results of the honest hard work you put in, that’s how I deal with it.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen with Parineeti Chopra in The Great Indian Rescue, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. The film will release on October 5. This year, Aanand L Rai's film Raanjhanaa celebrates a decade of journey, and even today the soundtrack by the great music maestro Mr. A. R. Rahman and acclaimed lyricist Irshaad Kamil, is widely played. Raanjhanaa marked the first collaboration between Aanand L Rai and A.R. Rahman. The film stars Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor, and Abhay Deol. Though the film was appreciated back in time, it hasn't aged gracefully and Abhay Deol agrees.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Abhay Deol said, “The film portrayed things that do happen and was true to the subject. The filmmaker’s motive was also to have empathy and show the evolution of a character. But there is no doubt that there is this formula that Hindi films go for which is to add glamorisation.”

Dhanush played the role of Kundan who pursues Sonam Kapoor's character Zoya, relentlessly. She dates Jasjeet, played by Abhay Deol. He added, “In the process of glamorising it, the film lost the essence of his message, which was about love and respect and boundaries. That was the intention with which the filmmaker came in. It was quite the opposite of what may have come out purely because we have to glamorize everything in order to make it commercially digestible, but there are some things which cannot be made palatable.”

Back in 2020, Abhay had said that history will not look at the movie kindly for its regressive message. He said, “It’s been a theme in Bollywood for decades, where a boy can (and should), pursue a girl until she relents. Only in cinema does she do that willfully. In reality, we have seen time and again that it leads to sexual violence of some sort. A bunch of celebrities were in attendance at the grand wedding of Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol to Drisha Acharya. It was a grand celebration and the week was filled with festivities including mehendi, haldi and sangeet ceremonies. Karan Deol shared a series of photos with his family members on Tuesday.

The first photo featured Dharmendra and his first wife Prakash Kaur making a rare appearance together. The grandparents blessed their oldest grandson. Actor Karan Deol finally tied the knot with his longtime love Drisha Acharya on June 18. The wedding celebrations were in full swing this past week. On Sunday, after the rituals, a grand wedding reception was hosted by the Deols for the newlyweds. Esha Deol, who is Sunny and Bobby Deol's step sibling, did not attend the wedding festivities but wished the newlyweds on social media. Kriti tied her hair back in a neat bun and chose for rose cheek colour, kohl-dashed eyes, glittering eyelids, and a neutral lip shade.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Adipurush released on June 16, in five languages. Apart from that, Kriti has the crew in pipeline with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu. She also has an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor set to release in December.

The Mumbai Police has taken a significant step in response to a complaint of sexual harassment filed against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. The case was registered at the Powai police station after a popular actress associated with the show made serious allegations against the accused.

As per a report by ANI, acting promptly, the city police conducted a preliminary investigation into the matter and subsequently registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The victim, whose identity has been withheld for confidentiality reasons, disclosed in her complaint that she had been a part of the widely watched TV serial for the past 15 years. The alleged incidents of sexual harassment, according to the complaint, took place between the years 2021 and 2023. The nature and details of the incidents were not disclosed in the available information.

This development comes in the wake of former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal recording her statement with the Mumbai Police last week, regarding her own allegations of sexual harassment against producer Asit Kumar Modi. The cumulative weight of these allegations has raised serious concerns about the work environment within the popular television show.

Reportedly, during a press conference in Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Raj Shekhawat, National President of Kshatriya Karni Sena, allegedly made a threatening statement. He reportedly stated that if they get their hands on the director, they will harm him. Furthermore, there were reports of plans to assemble a team in Mumbai, acquire weapons, and locate and kill the director. In the same press conference, Indal Singh Rana, a member of the group, reportedly issued a threat directed towards Manoj Muntashir, the dialogue writer of the movie.
