Over a week ago, Bollywood actor Salman Khan's security was beefed up by the Mumbai Police after one of his associates, Jordy Patel, received a threat via an email. His close friend Prashant Gunjalkar filed a complaint regarding the same and a case was registered at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and a person named Rohit Garg under IPC sections 506(2),120(b) & 34. Now, Mumbai Police has arrested a man named Dhakad Ram Bishnoi in Jodhpur in connection with the email threatening case. As per reports, Dhakad Ram Bishnoi (21) is a resident of Siyagon ki Dhani in Rohicha Kalan village in Jodhpur. He was reportedly out on bail under the Arms Act. Gaurav Yadav, Jodhpur’s DCP (West), said that a team from Mumbai’s Bandra Police had arrived to arrest him. “They asked us to assist them in detaining Bishnoi. We provided them with the support and handed Bishnoi over to the Mumbai PoliceYadav said, as reported by PTI on Sunday. "After a detailed technical investigation into the case, police got information about the accused person's whereabouts, following which a team was sent to Rajasthan and the man was apprehended," a police official said. According to a previous report in PTI, a police official said that “two Assistant Police Inspector (API)-rank officers and eight to ten constables will be part of Khan's security detail round the clock.” The official also added that fans won’t be allowed to assemble outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra. It was earlier reported that Y-plus security has been provided to Salman Khan by the police. He will also travel in bullet-proof car with his personal security detail. Additional security measures have also been given to the actor. As per reports, a person named Rohit Garg allegedly issued the threat and mentioned Goldy Brar, Canadian gangster's name, saying the latter wants to meet the actor in person. Recently, Lawrence Bishnoi also allegedly said that killing Salman is his life's goal. In a recent report shared by ABP News, Bishnoi was quoted saying, “There is anger in our society for Salman Khan. He humiliated my society. A case was filed against him but he did not apologize. If he does not tender an apology, be ready to face the consequences. I will not depend on anyone else.” He went on to add that he has been harboring the feeling of hatred ever since childhood. Bishnoi continued, “Will break his ego sooner or later. He should come to our deity’s temple and apologize. Rajkummar Rao, whose film Bheed was recently released, addressed the rumors claiming that he had undergone plastic surgery. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajkummar was asked the question. In response, the actor revealed that he finds it amusing and can't help but smile whenever he reads or hears about such speculations. “Nahi bhaiyya, koi plastic surgery nahi hue (No, there was no plastic surgery),” the actor replied before adding, “Kuch nahi smile aati hai chehre pe. Nice, log baat kar rahe hai (Nothing, I just smile. People are speaking).” Previously, the Ludo actor also spoke about how his appearance led to him being turned down for roles in the film industry. In a previous interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rajkummar had spoken about the comments he used to receive on his appearance during the start of his career. Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of his highly awaited film Bholaa. It is all set to arrive in cinemas in less than a week, on Thursday, March 30, and there’s significant buzz around it. Once the big-budget action entertainer is out, the superstar won’t have time to sit back and relax as he’ll be resuming the shoot for Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Producer Shreyans Hirawat of NH Studioz yesterday spoke about it and also shared interesting details about the film’s release period. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’s first schedule took place in February 2023. As per a report in Mid-day, the second schedule has commenced in Film City, Goregaon with Jimmy Sheirgill and Saiee Manjrekar. Ajay Devgn and the female lead Tabu are all set to join the shoot from the first week of April. The report also quotes Shreyans Hirawat who stated that the principal filming is expected to get over by Mid-day. He also added that they plan to release Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha around Diwali. The highly-awaited Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is already scheduled to hit screens on the Festival of Lights. It now remains to be seen if Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha clashes with Tiger 3 or does it release a few weeks before or after Diwali. Besides Mumbai, Neeraj Pandey’s directorial will also be shot in Lucknow and in overseas. The film’s music is composed by Oscar winning music director M M Keeravani. As per reports, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a love story that spans 19-20 years, from 2002 to 2023. On this, Shreyans Hirawat confessed that the film is a romantic thriller and though it has action, it won’t be a “typical Neeraj Pandey film”. Released in 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan not only became one of the biggest hits but also a film that found mass acceptance. Starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and child actress Harshali Malhotra, the film about the unusual bond between a simpleton Indian and a little Pakistani girl moved hearts. Last year, fans of Salman Khan had a moment of rejoice when the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan titled Pavan Putra was announced. The thought of seeing their favourite star essay the same role again was reason enough to excite them. But there was no update on the project following the announcement. But now, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Salman has brought Pooja Hegde on board for Pavan Putra. In other words, the film will see her replacing Kareena Kapoor. Whether Pooja will play the same character that Kareena played in the first film is not known yet. Interestingly, Pooja is also the leading lady in Salman’s upcoming release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by Farhad Samji, the film is all set to release during Eid in April this year. I took anecdotes and stories from them and incorporated them in my performance.” Gumraah is inspired by the Tamil film Thadam. The teaser revolves around an intense face-off between Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur. Helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar, the film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. It is slated to release in cinemas on April 7, 2023. Sonu Nigam’s father Agamkumar Nigam has filed an FIR (First Information Report) against his former driver for allegedly stealing Rs. 72 lakh from his residence in Mumbai. The singer's father lives at Windsor Grand building in Oshiwara, Andheri west. The alleged robbery took between March 19 and March 20. The FIR was registered by Sonu Nigam's sister Nikita who reached Oshiwara police station in the wee hours of Wednesday. As per the complaint, Agamkumar Nigam has a driver named Rehan for 8 months but was sacked from the job after his performance was unsatisfactory, as told by an official. As per a report in PTI, an official said that Agamkumar visited Nikita's home in the Versova area on March 19 for lunch. He was back at his residence after sometime. He called his daughter in the evening to inform her that “Rs 40 lakh was missing from a digital locker kept in a wooden cupboard.” Agamkumar Nigam visited his son's house the next day at 7 Bungalows for visa-related work. He returned home later that evening to find out Rs. 32 lakh were missing from the locker and that it wasn't damaged. As per the report, the official added, “Agamkumar and Nikita checked the CCTV footage of his society which showed his former driver Rehan going towards his flat with a bag on both days when he was away. Agamkumar suspects Rehan entered his flat with the help of a duplicate key and stole Rs. 72 lakh from the digital locker in the bedroom.” An FIR has been filed under the Indian Penal Code sections 380, 454 and 457 for robbery and trespassing. Among many others, actress Deepika Padukone has portrayed great historic personalities such as Queen Padmaavati and Princess from Bundelkhand Mastani. The release date of the Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal starrer Hindi remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru is out. The Sudha Kongara directorial venture will be releasing in theatres on September 1 this year. Produced by Abundantia Entertainment and 2D Entertainment, the yet untitled film is tentatively called Production No. 27. Released in November 2020, Soorarai Pottru starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu, among others. The film was also helmed by Sudha Kongara. The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru went on floors in April 2022 in an auspicious way through the breaking of a coconut by Radhika. The video of the same was shared by Akshay back then. Bollywood's comedy trio is back as Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal kicked off the shoot for the third instalment of Hera Pheri in February 2023. However, the film has already landed in legal trouble. Music giant and production house T-Series has reportedly issued a public notice to the makers of Hera Pheri 4, claiming the visual and audio rights to every song in the franchise. The notice reads that the production house is the “sole and exclusive right holder of all copyright of all Music and Audio Visual Song Rights” of the franchise in all mediums. According to the Times Of India, an excerpt in the notice read, “Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series) is the sole and absolute owner of copyright in relation to the music and audio visual songs i.e. Master Sound Recordings, Literary Works and Musical Works embodied in the Sound Recordings, and Audio Visuals of all the songs (hereinafter referred to as “Music and Audio Visual Song Rights”) for entire world in perpetuity for exploitation on all modes, media and formats (whether existing now and / or arising in future)in the Hindi language film currently “Untitled”, to be released as a franchise of the «HERA PHERI’ films (hereinafter referred to as the “Franchise Film”); The Music and Audio Visual Song Rights were assigned by Base Industries Group to T-Series.” Hera Pheri (2000), which was directed by Priyadarshan, was a story of a poor landlord and his two tenants, and how they become rich after they receive a wrong number. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), directed by Neeraj Vora, took the story forward and how the trio went from riches to rags in their quest for greed and wealth. Hera Pheri 4 is expected to take the story forward after the events of the second part. This installment is being helmed by Farhad Samji. Not too long ago, there were reports of how Lawrence Bishnoi threatened Salman Khan and told the superstar to apologize to his community after the actor was accused of killing a blackbuck during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Now, adding further, a staff member of the Sultan actor’s team has found a threatening letter asking Salman to have a talk with Canadian gangster Goldie Brar, in an email that was sent by a certain Rohit Garg. Salman Khan’s manager Prashant Gunjalkar came across the email last week, which Khan had received from a certain Rohit Garg who asked the superstar to have an interaction with Goldie Garg in order to resolve his issues with Lawrence Bishnoi. Furthermore, the email was reportedly said to have been written under the presumption that Salman Khan witnessed the interview that was given by Bishnoi recently. It had the gangster threatening to kill the superstar, if he didn’t apologize for allegedly killing a blackbuck. For the unversed, the blackbuck killing case that can be traced to the late 90s, witnessed serious allegations against the superstar for allegedly hunting a rare species, which is also considered to be sacred among the Bishnoi community. Followed by the threatening email, on Saturday night, Gunjalkar contacted the Mumbai police and registered a complaint against the three names. As per a statement reportedly given by an official in Bandra police station, the authorities have taken serious cognisance of this threat, followed by which they increased the security for the superstar. And besides that, they also registered a complaint under sections 12(B) and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code, which includes charges of criminal conspiracy and intimidation. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in Tihar jail, facing charges of murdering popular Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala. The critically acclaimed filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, known for his socially relevant films, is all set to release his upcoming project titled Bheed. The film promises to be a thought-provoking take on the complexities of modern society, where individuals are struggling to find their place amidst a pandemic. On top of that, Bheed will be released in a black-and-white format. Recently, Anubhav Sinha opened up on making the film in the black-and-white format while confessing that he was apprehensive initially. As per a report by IANS, the 57-year-old filmmaker said, “I got this idea while we were all working in Alibaug. At first, I was scared to share the idea with the team because I thought it would be rejected, but to my surprise, everyone liked it.” Sinha further added, “I was apprehensive about how people would react to this film which is black and white when the trailer was about to be released because people are not used to seeing it. People made Mughal-e-Azam in colour for today’s time but we were doing the complete opposite. But, I believe films are made with your heart. And, this film is exactly that.” Talking about the film earlier, Anubhav Sinha had said, “Bheed is a story of the most perilous times which changed everything for humanity. The key objective of shooting the film in black and white was to showcase how the visuals of the social disparity during India’s Lockdown were strikingly similar to what people went through during the 1947 India partition. This story is about people whose lives changed in a snap and the colours from their lives were lost when the border was drawn within the country.” Speaking of the cast of Bheed, it includes some of the most talented actors in the industry, such as Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Kapur, and Kritika Kamra, among others. Pahlaj Nihalani started the year 2023 by celebrating his 73rd birthday, on January 10. In February, he held an inauguration event for his revamped South Mumbai theatre, Nishat Cinema. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to him a few days ago about what he’s up to nowadays and a lot more. How do you look at the box office at present? If I go back to 1993 or 1994, it was a time when a big film, of the scale of Pathaan, will be released in maximum of 150 cinemas across the country. Yet, the big films at that point did the same kind of business that Pathaan or any other big film does in today’s times, despite the increase in prints and ticket rates in today's times. Those were the days when films would boast of 7 crore footfalls. I don’t think Pathaan will even cross 5 crore footfalls. Its run is about to get exhausted. Also, the ticket prices of Rs. 800 or 1000 can discourage some people to not venture out to cinema halls. 3 Idiots (2009) became a blockbuster with 4 crore footfalls. The cost of tickets has doubled since then but the box office hasn’t seen the same growth. Akshay Kumar used to give consistent hits but his films barely got footfalls of more than 1.25 crores. A film needs 1.50 or 1.75 crore footfalls to be declared a blockbuster. And our country's population is 140 crores. That’s why satellite channels are giving so much money to buy TV rights as they help the film reach out to every household. It’s also amusing that though many of the star-studded films are disasters, OTT platforms are claiming that millions of people have watched them on their platform. I don’t know where they are getting these numbers. Jo film 10 minute bhi dekhne ko mann nahin karta, aisi filmon ko most watched film of the year ka title diya jaata hai (smiles)! I wonder if they are fooling the people or if are they fooling themselves. You were the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). What do you have to say about its functioning, under Prasoon Joshi? Recently, you had spoken against reports that the orange swimsuit shot in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from Pathaan might have been removed by the CBFC… A lot of controversies were made over the orange swimsuit. But the Censors have not cut those shots. And I had said before the release that you cannot remove a shot based on the colour. The issue died down after the release of the film. It was completely political. A chairperson’s tenure in CBFC is usually 3 years. There have been murmurs as to why Prasoon Joshi continues to be the chairperson since August 2017... He’s the chairperson till further orders. He’s there as a chairperson but he’s also not there! What do you mean? When we get the appointment letter, it states that the tenure will start from a certain date and end on a certain date or until further orders. Since there have been no further orders, he continues to be the chairperson. However, he’s not attending office. I doubt if he has visited the office in the last 2-3 years. Gaye honge office toh sirf 2-4 baar. It was said that you used to attend office everyday… Mere paas kaam nahin tha na! Inke paas bahut kaam hai (laughs). Do you feel sad that people remember you only for your stint as the CBFC chairperson and the controversies that erupted at that time and not your body of work? I feel that jo accha kaam karta hai, uski agar burai na ho, toh fir accha kaam hua hi nahin! Nowadays, you don’t hear anything critical about CBFC. That’s because of fear. Abhi sab cheez ka darr hai sabko. No one gives any reaction or quote to the media. I used to do that as I felt it was important to clarify. People didn’t like it. In my time, many wanted to become chairperson. They were eying my chair. Even right now, bahut log mehnat kar rahe hai. Par nahin ban paa rahe hai. I put together a system in place at CBFC. The new members are following it. They haven’t made any changes though times now are different. We have OTT platforms now. They are not under any rules. This needs to be addressed. After the first two instalments turning out to be successful, there is keen interest for the third part of Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again. The franchise revolves around the adventures of the super cop Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn. The makers yesterday revealed that the film will be going on floors in July 2023 and release during Diwali 2024. Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan recently wrapped the schedule of his next project, Fighter, which is India’s first aerial action film. It marks his reunion with Bang Bang and War director Siddharth Anand and it sees him star opposite Deepika Padukone for the first time. The actor says it is a huge-scale project and sees it as a good opportunity. Speaking about Hrithik Roshan’s role to India Today, Siddharth Anand said, “With Hrithik, this is my third film — Bang Bang and War had really different characters. Rajveer and Kabir are two different people and personalities, completely opposite. And Patty, the character he’s playing in Fighter, he’s made it his own. He’s like a chameleon, he just adapts and becomes that character for that one year (when he’s shooting the film). So he can bring a certain genuineness to it that can last over a franchise, it’s not just made up for that moment, he becomes that person. So Patty is really something Hrithik has really worked hard on, different from Kabir and Rajveer. It is really exciting to see him transform like that. It is like a dream for a director to have an actor who just submits himself to that film for so long. He is a joy.” Talking about Deepika Padukone’s role, he added, “Like I said, my female parts are really strong, and very exciting. Deepika is also playing an Air Force officer (in Fighter). She’s a part of the elite unit of the Air Force, and it’s based on a lot of reality and authenticity. Something that Deepika has also bitten into. It is something that she’s not played before. And honestly, it’s a lot like her in real life, the character that she’s playing. She’s so much fun on set and she’s translating that character to be a real good takkar to Hrithik’s character, so it is very exciting. The Oscar-winning director of film Elizabeth, Shekhar Kapur, believes that SS Rajamouli demonstrated that we don't necessarily need to wait for external reinforcement in the form of accolades. Shekhar Kapur shares his views on winning Oscars this year. He told Hindustan Times, “I was waiting for this! After Elizabeth, which was nominated in seven categories at the Oscars, I was waiting for other filmmakers to take it up, and thank God for that. It’s been years. And you shouldn’t discount the fact that All That Breathes from India didn’t win- a nomination is as good as a win. It’s a beautiful film. So two heartfelt documentaries from India, and a feature film like RRR that has kind of taken the West by storm. It won Best Original song. It was a hardcore Indian, melodramatic celebration of what we do best.” He also emphasises how important it was for the Oscars to accommodate public demand. “It cannot just remain art cinema, then it will fall by the wayside. Rajamouli won in other awards, over directors like Steven Spielberg. Internationally they have opened their arms,” Kapur stated. When asked if we (Indians) wait for international validation before recognising our own talent back home or whether awards like the Oscars wake us up to the fact that we have such great content being made, to which he replied, “I think we do, and we shouldn’t. I remember, when Elizabeth was nominated for so many Oscars, everybody said ‘wow look at this director’ I said ‘wait a minute, I am the same guy who made Bandit Queen, Masoom, Mr India. Why am I suddenly this amazing director because the West has come up and said he is amazing?’ I have constantly said this, that we don’t need validation. It’s great to get an Oscar, suddenly the world knows about you, you get opportunities to work internationally. But I don’t think we need validation, and nobody has proven it better than Rajamouli. He has proved it so well through such an Indian way of making movies and made it so celebratory that the whole of West is saying ‘look at this’.” Expressing his grief over the demise of late actor-director Satish Kaushik, Kapur stated, “My relationship with Satish Kaushik... because he was from National School of Drama, and because he was an amazing actor, he understood acting. People used to say ‘Oh My God, if Shekhar Kapur is on a honeymoon, Satish will go with him’! That’s how people saw us. He used to live in my house for some time, we lived together. His greatest asset was his deep understanding of people, and you could see that in his performances. It came from staying at NSD, where Ebrahim Alkazi was the teacher that time. He trained them to look at the world and understand. Nobody knows that Satish was a brilliant mathematician as well. Actor-choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan, on Wednesday, took to his social media handle and dropped a video alleging that he was harassed and asked to speak in Kannada by an immigration officer at the Bengaluru international airport. Salman went on his Instagram Live to narrate the “disturbing” incident where he felt harassed by the officer. Along with the video, he shared the details of the incident in the caption as well. He tagged Kempegowda International Airport and wrote, “On my way to Dubai and I meet this immigration officer who speaks to me in Kannada .. and I in my broken Kannada try to tell him that I understand the language but can’t speak so well to which he continues to speak in Kannada and shows me my passport and points out my name and my birthplace and my father’s name and his birthplace and has the audacity to tell me that .. you and your father are born in Bangalore and u can’t speak Kannada.” The dancer-choreographer also added that when he tried to defend himself saying that he can speak Hindi instead, the officer still insisted that he could “suspect” Salman “for anything”. As he continued, Khan added, “I told him … TRY ME . Kapil Sharma is all set to return to movies with Zwigato in which he will be essaying the role of a common delivery man. Amidst promoting the same, the actor-comedian recalled the time when he was in depression and started missing out shoots, cancelling them, and how his work had suffered when he was undergoing a bad phase. In the same statement, the actor expressed his gratitude towards superstar Shah Rukh Khan who reached out to him and encouraged him to take the right path. In an interaction with Aaj Tak, Kapil Sharma recalled the times when he used to cancel shoots and the actor was asked if this behavior left any of the star angry. Responding to it, Kapil added, “Nobody got angry. The format of my show is such that I cannot be late even if I tried. We have to shoot multiple segments throughout the day… But yes, there were times when I backed out at the last moment because I didn’t think I could go through with it… “ Continuing further about the SRK incident, Kapil said, “When Shah Rukh Khan’s shoot got cancelled, he met me three or four days later. He had come to the same studio for something. Maybe, as an artist, he understood what was happening. He is a superstar, after all, and he has seen everything in this industry. He called me to his car, we sat for an hour, and talked. He asked me, ‘Drugs leta hai?‘. I told him I don’t take drugs, but I no longer feel like working. He told me some very nice things, counselled me. But this is one of those situations that you can’t improve unless you yourself want to.” Kapil Sharma, who continues to host the popular show The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV, was last seen in the film Firangi in 2017. Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma is well-known for his comic timing and has previously worked in comedic movies. For the past few years, he has experienced enormous growth in popularity. In Nandita Das' Zwigato, he now intends to appeal to sentiment by taking on the role of delivery man Manas. He will be portrayed as a man who lost his job as a factory manager and now works as a delivery boy to support himself. Kapil told ETimes, “Today I am a father of two kids, but tomorrow I might get a chance to play a man who is like 40 years older than me and I will play that as well. However, having said that, since I am a father, a sentiment comes from within.” He added, “It happens that being a father in real life helps you connect more to the emotion.” During the interview with the celebrity, Kapil Sharma put himself in Shahana Goswami's position. When questioned about Shahana's persona, Kapil (playing Shahana) responded, “I am playing the role of Pratima in the movie. As you know I was born and raised in Delhi, and this is my second movie with Nandita, I earlier worked with her in Firaaq, and we have a great relationship. And I work only with those people with whom my heart connects, I don’t work just for the sake of it.” In the same breath, he further added, “Kapil is such an amazing actor.” “It was such an honour and pleasure to work with Kapil Sharma,” said Kapil. To support the income, his homemaker wife begins to explore different work opportunities, with fear but also the excitement of newfound independence. The film is about the relentlessness of life, but not without their shared moments of joy. It captures the lives of invisible ‘ordinary’ people, hidden in plain sight. Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee will be coming together for the first time in one-of-its-kind Indian film Jawan that will feature a mix of South and Bollywood celebrities. With the film featuring many firsts including the Bollywood debut of Nayanthara, yet another interesting piece of news has come to light regarding the film. Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt will be coming together for this action entertainer, however, the latter will be doing a cameo. In a recent Peeping Moon report, a source has confirmed the developments and was quoted saying, "The casting for this brief but vital role has been quite difficult for Atlee, as it required an A-list star who had never appeared on screen alongside Shah Rukh. Allu Arjun was earlier offered this role, but he turned it down due to a scheduling conflict and his commitment to the highly anticipated Pushpa: The Rule. Shortly after Allu’s refusal, the makers went to Sanju Baba, and now he has agreed to do this role for SRK." This is not the first time where Sanjay will be doing a special appearance in a Shah Rukh Khan film. In the past, he has made a brief appearance in films like Ra One and Om Shanti Om. Talking about Jawan, not only has Sanjay Dutt agreed to do the role but he will also soon start shooting in Mumbai. As of now, the actor is in Kashmir shooting for a major schedule of Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo. Soon he will be returning to the maximum city to shoot for this sequence in a studio. Furthermore, it is also being said that lavish sets will be mounted to shoot this SRK-Sanjay sequence on a grand scale. Coming to the Atlee directorial, the film will feature Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist along with Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara as leading man and woman in the film. It also has Yogi Babu, Sanya Malhotra, among others playing pivotal roles in the action entertainer that is slated to release on June 2, 2023. The industry woke up to the sad news that Satish Kaushik passed away suddenly. The actor-director had earned a place in the hearts of the viewers' thanks to his memorable roles in several films. He was also a director and handled memorable and successful films like Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999), Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000), Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001), Tere Naam (2003) etc. He began his journey as a director with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993). A lot was expected from this Anil Kapoor-Sridevi starrer as it marked the reunion of the duo and producer Boney Kapoor after the very successful and acclaimed Mr India (1987). Sadly, the film bombed big time at the box office. In a few interactions, Satish Kaushik spoke about it in his trademark funny style. Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja was shot lavishly and boasted of a challenging action scene on a trip that took 21 days to be shot. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror seven years ago, Satish Kaushik revealed that nine premieres of the film were planned in nine cities. The third premiere was held in Hyderabad and Satish said that this is when news came in that the film was not doing well. He was in a hotel and he was so distraught by this news that he wanted to jump from the window. Satish Kaushik stated, “I got very upset and I wanted to jump out of the window of the hotel. I was newly married at that time and my wife got very worried. But of course, nothing much would have happened anyway if I had jumped — for, the window was on the first floor. And right below the window, there was a buffet laid out for dinner. Had I jumped I would have landed in some bhindi ki subzi!” In this same interview, he also noted that “the sheer ambition of the film took a toll”. Meanwhile, Satish Kaushik’s next directorial Prem (1995), which served as the debut of Sanjay Kapoor, also tanked. In another interview, given to Bombay Times in 2018, Satish Kaushik joked, “During the 80s, when Boney first signed me as an actor, he offered me Rs 201. Anil Kapoor told him that he’d seen how talented I was during Woh Saat Din (1983), so he told him to give me Rs 500 instead.
