Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone got teary-eyed and emotional at the press conference of Pathaan. It’s been seven days since the film released in theatres and it continues to receive a massive response from the audience. The film has already crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark shattering several records. Released on January 25, 2023, worldwide, the film is led by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika and John Abraham and helmed by Siddharth Anand. Seeing the kind of response the film is receiving not simply in theatres but also on social media, the actress was quite emotional about it. Speaking to the media on Monday, the 37-year-old actress said that it was surreal to witness the response at Gaiety Galaxy. “It felt amazing. We had been doing indoor screening for days but finally, I got a chance to get out. I wanted to go on the day of the film’s release but that could not happen. Veteran actor Annu Kapoor was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on January 26 after he complained chest pain. The artist was kept under treatment for four days. Thankfully, for his fans and well-wishers, his condition improved over the days and he was discharged from the hospital last night, as reported by Indian Express through the Press Trust of India. As per the agency, the news was shared by Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Board of Management, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital. As per the publication, Kapoor was treated by a team of cardiologists comprising, Dr J P S Sawhney, Dr Rajneesh Jain, Dr Rajiv Passey, Dr BS Vivek and Dr Sushant Wattal. The publication also quoted Dr Rajneesh, co-director of cath lab and head of unit, saying, “Kapoor was discharged today in a stable condition.” Kapoor has been one of the most accomplished actors from Bollywood over the decades. After making his debut in the parallel cinema of the early 1980s, he has gone onto act in over 100 movies, along with television serials. Since recent years, he has also ventured into the latest fad of web shows. His last released work in the web space was the Amazon Prime Video show Crash Course. Back in March 2022, Netflix announced that Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma were coming together to star in Sujoy Ghosh's untitled film. The film marks the digital debut of Kareena. It is a screen adaptation of one of Keigo Higashino’s most acclaimed novel, “The Devotion of Suspect X”. Now, Kareena has wrapped the project. Speaking to Variety, Kareena Kapoor described the Sujoy Ghosh project as “dramatically different”. “For me, it’s very different because obviously you’re used to seeing me in all the mainstream movies, which has the song, the dance, the gloss, the glamour. Both these films (Sujoy Ghosh & Hansal Mehta’s next projects) are shockingly different,” Kareena said. The film follows the story of a “single mother and her daughter who commit a crime and a neighbor who helps them cover it up amidst a police investigation.” The film is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures and marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s streaming debut. Sujoy Ghosh will be producing the film along with Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, and Thomas Kim. On another note, the actress has also wrapped the Hansal Mehta directorial, which is reportedly titled The Buckingham Murders. The film marks her debut as a producer along with Ekta Kapoor. “I love ‘Mare of Easttown’ and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do. So we’ve molded a little bit on those lines, she plays a detective cop in that,” Kareena told Variety. “It’s the first time that I’ve dabbled in that.” The actress also said that the film is 80 percent shot in English and 20 percent in Hindi. It was extensively filmed in the UK. “I speak fluently in Hindi and I think also in Hindi because that’s been what I’ve been doing all my life,” she added. “When you’re thinking in Hindi, but speaking in English, it was actually a difficult task to do because it was the reverse situation for the first time.” “I never really thought that I would be a producer. But when I heard this subject, and the fact that it’s very different to a regular Hindi movie… it’s a very different, take to things. So I thought that will be really nice and different,” Kapoor Khan said. “And when Ektaa and Hansal told me that, ‘since you love the script so much, why don’t you come on board as a creative producer as well, and take some calls as to what you think also and give your name to it’ – after much thought, I thought that if I love something so much, and this is a character that I wanted to play, I think it’s fun to do it. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen in a lead role with Pathaan on January 25, 2023, and has demolished the box office with the collections. After 2018's Zero, SRK is back in action. The film stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham alongside Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia. Interestingly, SRK’s foster mother is played by Nikhat Khan Hegde. As the film inches Rs. 300 crore mark in India, Shah Rukh Khan greeted the fans on Sunday who gathered outside his residence Mannat in Mumbai's Bandra. Shah Rukh Khan was greeted with cheers, screams, chants and more. He waved at the fans, sent flying kisses and even did his signature pose of spreading his arms. After much speculation surrounding the role on whom the film’s title is based, Anurag Kashyap reveals Vicky Kaushal as DJ Mohabbat in his directorial Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, co-starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. This also marks the fourth collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and the actor, who plays a special role and will feature in a never-seen-before avatar in the coming-of-age romantic film. Talking about the special role of Vicky Kaushal in the film, Anurag Kashyap said, “The character of DJ Mohabbat is so integral to the story, that I wanted someone special to play it. DJ Mohabbat is the voice of love, and is the conduit between two stories and I wanted someone who is that. Someone everyone loves because they trust and believe him. Vicky is that to me since I’ve known him. Always speaks his heart, never forgets, is grateful to his audience and people and the characters he plays. When I asked ‘if not SRK then who?’. My whole cast and my daughter and her friends in unison said Vicky Kaushal.” On the other hand, continuing about this role, Vicky Kaushal aka DJ Mohabbat added, “Anurag Sir has been a mentor, a friend and in ways he’s been my window into the world of cinema. When he spoke to me about this role I was immediately on board and this special appearance is for a special film, made by my special friend.” Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat marks the debut of Karan Mehta and stars Freddy actress Alaya F as his love interest. The versatile singer of Hindi film! Alka Yagnik is one of the female musicians with the most solo songs in Bollywood music history, having received seven Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer from 36 nominations and two National Film Awards. Today is no exception, as she has added another feather to her cap.  Alka Yagnik, a Bollywood playback singer, became the most watched artist on YouTube globally last year, with 15.3 billion YouTube streams in 2022, and an average of 42 million per day. According to Liberty Games research, Alka was the most watched artist on YouTube in 2021, with 17.7 billion streams, up from 16.6 billion in 2020. The Bollywood playback singer surpassed Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico), who earned 14.7 billion streams, as well as Taylor Swift, Blackpink, and BTS, among others.  South Korean superstars BTS received 7.95 billion streams and ranked sixth, while BLACKPINK received 7.29 billion streams and ranked eighth. Taylor Swift was ranked 26th with 4.33 billion streams, Drake was ranked 50th with 2.9 billion, and The Weeknd was ranked 13th with 5.7 billion. Udit Narayan is ranked third with 10.6 billion global YouTube listens, while Arijit Singh is ranked fourth with 10.2 billion streams. Kumar Sanu was the fifth most popular music artist in terms of YouTube play counts, just ahead of K-pop sensation BTS. Bhojpuri singer Khesari Lal Yadav came in seventh place, following BTS. Late playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, known as the "Nightingale of India," was ninth on the list, with Shilpi Raj rounding out the top ten. According to ChartMasters, nearly 25% of YouTube users are from India.  Alka Yagnik dominated the music industry in the 1990s and continues to do so today with her beautiful-cum-calming tunes. She has recorded over 20,000 songs for albums and films during her four-decade career. Anurag Kashyap recently made headlines where he expressed guilt over his public statement about his Dev.D actor Abhay Deol and privately about the late Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Anurag accused Abhay of being difficult to work with, claiming that the actor insisted on staying in a five-star hotel separate from the rest of the cast and crew. Abhay had denied this.  Anurag had revealed shortly after Sushant's death that he had refused to speak with him about a project because he was resentful of being ghosted by the actor in the past. The filmmaker discussed his differences with Abhay and Sushant in a new interview with Showsha. He said, “It’s taken me a year-and-a-half of sickness to realise a lot of things. I was so reactive; I would say things. I would say things out of anger, out of reaction, to things I felt perturbed by. It took me time to realise that I’m shouting, I’m shouting in a room full of people shouting. Nobody’s listening to each other, not just to me. That’s what social media has become. And I stepped back. I said, ‘Why am I reacting to this? What is bothering me?'”  He further added, “A lot has changed, but I know I have no filter. But it’s also made me realise I don’t need to say everything… For example, that whole spat between me and Abhay. Somebody was doing an article about why a very good actor like Abhay is no longer in the movies, and I spoke about my experiences, something that happened 13 years ago. I didn’t need to say it publicly. And the day the unfortunate incident happened of SSR, I felt so bad. Three weeks prior to that somebody was trying to reach out because he wanted to talk, and I was like, ‘No, he ghosted me, I don’t want to talk’. You get pangs of guilt. So, I tried to reach out to Abhay and I apologised to him, because somebody had told me that he was upset about me speaking publicly about him.”  Anurag stated that he told Abhay that it was fine to yell at him and then apologised repeatedly for what he said. However, Abhay appeared to be upset about what Anurag had said about him as recently as last month. Abhay called the filmmaker a "liar" and a "toxic" person in an interview with mid-day. Anurag acknowledged that they had both changed and expressed regret for what he had said.  Anurag had stated in a 2020 interview with NDTV that he was disappointed that Sushant had backed out of projects with him in favour of more high-profile jobs. He stated, “YRF called him and said, ‘We’ll give you a deal. You do Shuddh Desi Romance.’ Sushant, who used to sit in my office with Mukesh and all of us used to sit together, signed up with YRF and dropped Hasee Toh Phasee, a film of an outsider because usko validation YRF ka chahiye tha (he wanted validation from YRF). It’s with every actor, so I am not holding any grudges… Years later, in 2016, before the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Mukesh went to Sushant and said, ‘Anurag has written a script looking for an actor who can play someone based out of Uttar Pradesh.’ Dhoni released, became a success and he never called me back. Pathaan has left Karan Johar and many other Indian filmgoers speechless. The spy thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan has caught the country by storm and is playing to sold-out audiences. Following a post-Covid dip in the box office, the picture has been breaking records. Karan Johar has written yet another comment about Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster film, Pathaan.  On Saturday, the filmmaker took to Instagram Stories and thanked everyone who collaborated on the film. He expressed his views on his Instagram Stories, “Nothing matters more than a great film. Actor Neha Dhupia attracted headlines in 2004 when she asserted that "either sex sells or Shah Rukh Khan." She had mentioned that since Shah Rukh was not there in Julie (2004), the movie needed to contain love-making scenes and shots in response to a question about her doing intimate scenes. What’s unique about its marketing strategy is that the lead cast of the film didn’t promote the film through conventional means like attending press conferences, giving interviews to the press etc. 10 days ago, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that as confirmed by director Siddharth Anand, the promotional activities of the film will begin only after the release of the film. He had stated, “We want the euphoria around (Shah Rukh Khan’s) return to reach a crescendo by January 25, the release date of Pathaan. Thus, we will start all our promotional activities only post the release of the film.” Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that the much-awaited and impending event of Pathaan is expected to finally take place tomorrow. A source spilled the beans, “It is said that the event is expected take place on Monday, January 30, in Mumbai. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Siddharth Anand will also make their presence felt. It’ll be one of the biggest events of the year. The media has been waiting to see Shah Rukh and to interact with him. As a result, a large turnout of the media is expected. Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate owing to her alleged involvement in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, has been granted the permission to travel abroad for professional commitments, albeit with certain conditions. The actress had earlier approached the Delhi Patiala High Court seeking the permit for travelling abroad to attend her scheduled performance for PepsiCo India conference where she was to perform at the Annual Bottlers Conference in Dubai. On Friday, the Delhi Patiala High Court granted permission to Jacqueline Fernandez to travel to Dubai after her counsel argued that the actress may face lawsuit from the brand for non-participation if she doesn’t make it to the conference. Considering the same, the court has granted her permission to travel but along with that it has also observed that it will come along with some conditions. Owing to the fact that the ED is still investigating the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case, for which, she has been named as a witnessed, the court has laid certain guidelines for the actress including a FDR of Rs. 1 crore, in case she doesn’t return. As per the court order, the actress is also expected to give a full disclosure of her stay details in Dubai including itinerary, arrival, and departure. In the past too, Jacqueline Fernandez had filed a plea seeking permission to travel but had withdrawn the same. While the counsel argued that the actress decided to cooperate in the investigation and decided against traveling for personal reasons, the current reason for her to insist on leaving for Dubai is because of the professional repercussions she may face if she doesn’t attend the event. On the other hand, the ED opposed it not only stating that the case is still under investigation but also pointing out that Jacqueline is a foreign national which increases the threat of her fleeing. After listening to both arguments, the court upheld its decision of allowing Fernandez to travel for the conference but keeping in mind the ongoing investigation of the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, the court has asked the actress to strictly adhere to the guidelines that have been laid down. For the unversed, Jacqueline Fernandez is being investigated for her alleged relationship with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. While the actress claims to be a victim of the conman, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating and has filed multiple chargesheets regarding the same. The SCO Council of Heads of States and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) had collaborated to organise the film festival. On the opening day of the festival, Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Hema Malini, and others received awards. In Mumbai for the festival's opening, Union Minister Thakur noted that the distinctions between regional and worldwide film have become more hazy and emphasised the importance of creating high-quality content that will be recognised on a global scale. He told reporters, "Somebody asked me about regional or how come it is an international thing here, nothing is regional today if the content has the power, it will go places, from regional to national to international. Keep making good content; there are no boundaries for good content. This (Appatha) is going to make great news at the box office and will be seen across the world." India is hosting the G20 Summit in 2023, and it also holds the SCO Presidency, according to the minister, making it a significant year for the country. He asserted that India and the SCO have close ties, and for many years, residents of the SCO's member countries have praised and adored Indian movies. "In one-year (these) big events are happening in India. And we have a lot of showcases, especially our rich cultural heritage, (and) we should only be proud of it. The world of cinema is incomplete without India and India is the largest filmmaking country and of late we are making right news, right noise at the international level," he added. The festival's mission, according to the minister, is to foster young filmmaker potential, foster relationships in the film industry, and function as a bridge between the cultures of this distinctive region. It also offers exchange programmes. When Thakur inquired about Akshay Kumar's readiness to appear in foreign movies, the 55-year-old actor responded, “I believe in being aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) and will do Hindustani films." On the other hand, Shroff asserted that he is open to acting in foreign films and that he thinks that cinema transcends all languages. He said, "Films transcends boundaries, it is a visual medium and creativity has no language. I am very happy to be here and be part of this event and celebrate Indian cinema and its growth, and of course world cinema and all the countries that have participated and showed their talent." Hema Malini asserted that a major factor in an actor's increasing notoriety outside of India is participation in film festivals. "Through the festival a lot can happen. Like, (for) SCO film festival, there is participation from Russia, China, Uzbekistan and other (countries), it is a good thing and the result will be good. Long ago, I acted in an Indo-Russian collaboration film, 'Alibaba Aur 40 Chor' and because of that many people know me (in that country)," the actress said. 2023's first mega blockbuster, Pathaan, is creating a rampage at the box office. The film is being loved not just for its tight script, music, scale, action, patriotism and of course the performances of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, but also because it has some very exciting and unexpected Easter eggs. These are related to scenes and dialogues of past films, some of which belong to the YRF (Yash Raj Films) spy universe, just like Pathaan. Bollywood Hungama, in this special feature, lists out these Easter Eggs 1. One of the most hilarious scenes in the film is when Pathaan infiltrates the bedroom of a lady named Karen, who possesses the key to the safe where 'rakht beej' is stored, in Moscow's Woskwich Tower. Karen was supposed to be fast asleep after unknowingly consuming sleeping pills. But when Pathaan is taking her fingerprints, she unexpectedly wakes up. At this moment, Pathaan sings the iconic song of Darr (1993), 'Tu Hai Meri Kiran'. But he replaces Kiran with Karen not just while singing the song but also when mouthing the iconic dialogue, ‘K-K-K-K-Kiran’. As expected, viewers went crazy at this point. 2. Pathaan and Rubina (Deepika Padukone) discussing how to steal 'rakht beej' leads to Pathaan uttering '7 din Rakht beej in'. It was an inspiration to the '6 din ladki in' sequence from Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), starring Shah Rukh, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan. 3. The famous number of War (2019), 'Ghungroo Toot Gaye', is mentioned by Pathaan in his entry scene. Interestingly, War, starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor, was also a part of YRF Spy Universe. 4. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan coming together and fighting the baddies made for enough entertainment. Yet, the makers enhanced the scene by infusing humour. The latest poster and release date reveal of Fukrey 3 earlier this week became a reason for happiness for the fans of the comedy franchise. The poster had the usual Fukrey stars like Richa Chaddha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi. However, a major player from the franchise in the form of Ali Fazal was missing from the poster as well as the official press release. Ali has now broken the silence on his absence from the new announcement of the third film in the comedy franchise. The actor is unable to be a part of Fukrey 3 because his dates are clashing with the shoot of Mirzapur 3, the next season of Amazon Prime Video’s gangster show. Co-incidentally, both Fukrey and Mirzapur franchises are produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their banner Excel Entertainment. Speaking about the absence of his character Zafar from the Fukrey 3 announcement, Ali said in a statement, “So Zafar aayega ya nahi? Sab yahi puch rahe hain baar baar. The Twitterati felt this was an indirect attack on Pathaan, which was having a phenomenal opening day at the box office. It was a double celebration for Shah Rukh Khan fans as January 25 marked the release of Pathaan and 6 years since the release of Raees. Helmed by Rahul Dholakia, the film marked the Bollywood debut of popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. It also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a pivotal role. On this special occasion, the actress took to her Instagram story to share her love for SRK. She simply shared her old post and wrote, “My Pathan” in the caption. Yaariyan’s second installment, Yaariyan 2 starring Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri will now release on 20th October 2023. The film also features an ensemble cast including Yash Das Gupta, Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain and Priya Varrier. Yaariyan 2 will be directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. In the first instalment of the film, Divya made her directorial debut with the college romance, and now she will be the one playing the lead in Yaariyan 2. Gulshan Kumar and T-Series present T-Series films and Rao & Sapru Films production titled Yaariyan 2. Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathaan is expected to earn around Rs 50 crores at the box office on its first day (yesterday). The film has succeeded in pulling large crowds into the cinema halls in such a way that it is expected to break the record of the highest opening for a Bollywood movie. But amidst such scenes, some Right Wing organizations held some protests against Pathaan in parts of Madhya Pradesh yesterday, as reported by NDTV. The film was under fire for the saffron coloured bikini worn by Deepika Padukone in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ as that colour is considered sacred by the Hindus. But the state’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said that there is no point in having any protests now as there have been “corrections” made in the film by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certifications). Speaking to a group of reporters, he said, “I believe all rectifications have been made in it (film). The Censor Board has made corrections. Controversial words have been removed. So, I don’t see any point in protesting now.” He also said that those who are still protesting against the movie will be “counselled,” added the same report by NDTV. Mishra, who is a part of the BJP, was one of the first persons to raise objections in Pathaan last month for the colour of the bikini in the said song. He had said then, “The outfits worn (by Deepika Padukone) in the song are objectionable. It is evident that this song has been picturized by polluted minds. Anyways, Deepika ji has been a supporter of the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang; she attended the JNU protests. The week kicked off with celebrations in B-town as popular star Suniel Shetty assumed a new role of father-in-law. His daughter and Hero actress Athiya Shetty tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend and renowned cricket player K. L. Rahul in an intimate ceremony in Khandala. Despite it being a private affair, the couple and the Shetty family arrived to interact with the media post the wedding ceremony. And now the proud father has taken to social media, to share a heartfelt note about his daughter’s wedding.

Suniel Shetty had also expressed his happiness when he interacted with the media post the wedding in which he had said, “It was beautiful. It was very small, with just close family lekin sab bahut acche se hua (everything went well), adding, “Shaadi hogayi hai, father-in-law ban gaya hoon officially. Beta ghar aaya hai ((The wedding was completed and I am officially a father-in-law). We are welcoming a son at home). He continued talking about his role, “I am a father, and don’t want to get involved in the in-law complications. I ace the role of a parent, and I want to do that.”

Athiya Shetty and K. L. Rahul, who have been in a relationship for about three years, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Khandala farmhouse owned by the Shetty family, on January 23.

The day has arrives as fans were thronging the theatres across the country as early as 6 in the morning to watch Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen in a lead role with Pathaan. The anticipation is through the roof, social media pages are buzzing and the fans are stoked to see SRK back in action. Like it was reported earlier, Salman Khan makes a cameo in the movie and it totally leads a roar when two superstars, fondly known as Karan – Arjun of Indian cinema, come together for an action-packed sequence.
