The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards are not far away. The mega event is all set to take place on December 3 and 4 in Mumbai. One can expect some of the OTT giants to gather under a single roof.

Before that happens, here’s looking at some of the powerhouse production houses that are shaping India’s streaming revolution:

Rajshri Productions

With the series Bada Naam Karenge, Rajshri Productions stepped decisively into the digital-first world, bringing its legacy of family-romance storytelling into a fresh OTT format. They leveraged their hallmark of emotional intimacy and high production values, adapting it for modern streaming audiences while retaining their hallmark sensibility of relationships and tradition. In doing so, they bridged the gap between old-school cinematic values and new-age OTT narratives.

Balaji Telefilms

Known traditionally for its dominant presence in Indian TV, Balaji made noteworthy inroads into OTT in 2025, for example with the superhero-themed series Power Of Paanch. Their shift into genre experimentation (super-powers, fantasy) signals their recognition that streaming audiences demand variety beyond conventional family dramas. The production house’s legacy brand clout gave its digital projects a head-start in terms of visibility and credibility.

The Viral Fever (TVF)

With the web series Court Kacheri, TVF expanded its focus from youth-slice-of-life comedy-drama into more mature genres like legal drama and legacy conflict. The show demonstrates TVF’s adaptability: although rooted in relatable storytelling, it is willing to tackle rougher terrain (courtrooms, inter-generational rivalry) and deliver high-quality OTT fare. In 2025 this underlines how their digital-native sensibility continues to evolve.

Dashami Creations

With the mystery-thriller series The Secret of the Shiledars, Dashami Creations showed that even newer banners can deliver compelling OTT content. Their choice of genre (mystery + thriller), tight episodic structure (6 episodes) and streaming mindset point to a shift in how OTT content is being packaged in India: compact, gripping, and designed for binge-viewing.

Drishyam Films (and N2O Films)

These two collaborated for the action-drama series Loot Kaand, a lean six-episode heist thriller set in rural India. With crisp pacing, a gritty setting and strong narrative drive, this production shows how OTT is giving space to more compact seasons and genre-driven storytelling. The involvement of Drishyam and N2O illustrates how film-oriented production houses are transitioning into the streaming era with purposeful originals.

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards is presented by SleepZ by Raymond, co-powered by Fima, Carlo Frattini, and Amante in association with Helios, Style Partner Rare Rabbit, Lovestory Patner Truly Madly, Stylish Furniture Partner Uraban Ladder, with healthcare partner HCG, skincare partner Fixferma, Spirituality partner Satvik, conversation partner Bevzilla, gourmet dessert partner Smoor, nutrition partner The Naturik Co., radio partner Radio City and celebration partner Heineken Silver.

Priyanka then talked about her co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays the antagonist. She revealed, “Prithvi in the film is very, very scary and terrifying. But in real life, you are the complete opposite. Thank you so much for your kindness.”

For S S Rajamouli, she said, “You are truly the visionary.” Soon, fans got the hint that she’s next going to speak about Mahesh Babu. They went into a frenzy. Priyanka Chopra teased the fans by asking the fans whether they call him Bob or Lion. She continued, “I know him as MB. I also know him as the incredible, legendary Mahesh Babu!”

S S Rajamouli, M M Keeravani, Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and others attended the grand Globetrotter event in Hyderabad. At this event, Rajamouli announced that his film Varanasi will be the first film of Indian cinema to be filmed in IMAX.

S S Rajamouli came on stage and explained that certain films, which are released in IMAX screens, are “blown up”. He said, “That is not true IMAX.” He also said that his films like Baahubali and RRR (2022) were in the 1:1.9 format. The 100 feet x 130 feet screen, the biggest ever, behind the blockbuster filmmaker, explained the difference between the aforementioned two formats. Then he showed a visual that covered the whole screen. Rajamouli said, “Our film (Varanasi) will be screened full screen. It is filmed for IMAX!”

He explained, “I'm so proud to say that we are introducing new technology to Telugu Cinema - Premium large-scale format. It is filmed for IMAX.” As expected, the crowd went into a frenzy. S S Rajamouli then asked his team, “Can I have the trailer in full-screen format?”

Sadly, there was a glitch. Rajamouli regretted the error and informed the crowd that 45 generators had been used to power up the screen. After some time, the announcement video was finally played in all its glory and got a roaring response.

Earlier in the day, Prithviraj Sukumaran said how he bagged the film, “The famous S S Rajamouli narration that my friend Prabhas told me so much about, started. 5 minutes into the narration, I was blown away. For the rest of the 3 hours, I heard it not as an actor listening to a narration pitch but more like a little boy who has laid his hands on the next edition of his favourite comic book! The scale, the vision, the ambition – everything was India’s greatest contemporary filmmaking, pushing his own limits to never-before-seen territory.”

On Thursday, November 13, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to predict that Rizwan Sajan, the founder and chairman of Danube Group, would launch a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan at an event held in Mumbai on November 14. Our news break came true. SRK himself graced the occasion for the launch of the skyscraper, called Shahrukhz By Danube, and as expected, raised laughs and touched hearts with his quotes. An animated AV played at the beginning drew parallels between SRK and Rizwan, as both had no backing and made a name for themselves in their respective fields through sheer hard work and determination.

Rizwan Sajan told the host, Farah Khan, “Innovation is important. When I entered the property business, there were so many giants selling properties in Dubai. I asked myself, ‘What should I do differently so that I can also be able to sell my inventory in the midst of these big real estate companies’. I realized that 85% of the expat population is unable to buy their house. Hence, I started the 1% payment plan. It made buying a house affordable for many people. This is how I keep innovating.”

Farah Khan remarked, “Rizwan bhai, this holds true for Shah Rukh as well. Almost 25 years ago, he started his production house. Then, it was called Dreamz Unlimited. So many producers told me, ‘Tum Shah Rukh ki dost ho. Usko bolo that what he is doing is suicidal. An actor should never start a production house. Yeh aisa kyun kar raha hai? He should just act and take his money’. Yet, he took the plunge. His first two to three films didn’t really do well. But he kept on at it. Similarly, he was the first actor to start a VFX studio in India. I think it’s the best in the world now.”

Shah Rukh Khan added, “As Rizwan bhai said, you need to keep reinventing. If people are able to do that, they make themselves viable for a longer period of time. This is because they don’t have the ego that they have done it all. Every day, such people wake up hoping that others like the new stuff that they are bringing to the table. Like if I am able to learn a new dance form, I would do that.”

At this point, Farah Khan talked about a popular song from The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, directed by SRK’s son Aryan, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, “I missed you during ‘Ghafoor’. I wanted you to do the (signature step).” SRK replied, “‘Ghafoor’ mein main Tamannaah jitna accha dance kar leta na?” Farah smiled and said, “You would have done it better than her.”

Towards the end, Rizwan Sajan announced, “A building named after Shah Rukh Khan will not just be located in Dubai. It’ll soon be built across the world. You’ll find Shah Rukh Tower in New York, London, Delhi, Mumbai and other major cities in the world! This is my gut feeling and I think I am right about it.”

Shah Rukh Khan asked whether Shahrukhz By Danube will be built in 4-5 years? Rizwan answered, “It’ll be ready in 3 to 4 years.” SRK joked, “I commit a bit more as I am used to changing my film’s release dates!”

Another fun moment of the event was when Shah Rukh Khan made Rizwan Sajan do his signature pose and also made the latter dance to the song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’.

Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to predict that Rizwan Sajan, the founder and chairman of Danube Group, would launch a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan at an event held in Mumbai on November 14. Our news break came true. SRK himself graced the occasion for the launch of the skyscraper, called Shahrukhz By Danube, and as expected, raised laughs and touched hearts with his quotes.

Rizwan Sajan revealed a thoughtful gesture of Shah Rukh, which won hearts, “Once, I was returning from Mumbai. Fortunately, Shah Rukh and Pooja Dadlani were on the same flight. We greeted each other. I was sitting right behind him on the Emirates flight. I called my wife, Sameera, and informed her about it. She's a huge fan of his. She asked me to talk to him. Unfortunately, she is not well. So, she told me, 'Please tell Shah Rukh that I love him and that he should pray for me'. I had reservations about intruding on their privacy. But she insisted.”

Rizwan continued, “I asked Pooja to allow me to speak to Shah Rukh for 2 minutes. When the flight landed, Shah Rukh called me. I gave him my wife's message. Shah Rukh, being humble and so nice as always, asked me when I would reach home. I told him that I'll be home in half an hour. Meanwhile, my son Adel and Sameera were in London. I didn't tell her anything. Once I reached home, I put them on the line. Shah Rukh then came on a Zoom call with her. He spoke to her not just for 5 minutes but for more than 30 long minutes. He gave her solace and good luck. He told her, 'Sameera, you'll be fine'. He also prayed for her. Anybody else in his place would have prayed for my wife's recovery and moved on. But what Shah Rukh did touched the hearts of all of us.”

Rizwan added, “Once when I was in London, I had a dream at 6 in the morning that I was building this tower and that I named it after Shah Rukh. Sameera jumped at the idea. Adel, Sana and my marketing team were also quite excited. I then messaged Pooja and asked if it (making a tower named after Shah Rukh) was possible. After a few days, she said that it was possible. The next day, I was at Shah Rukh's house and we finalized the project.”

The host of the evening, Farah Khan, raised laughs as she quipped, “When Pooja says 'It’s possible', only then it's possible!”

Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to predict that Rizwan Sajan, the founder and chairman of Danube Group, will launch a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan at an event held in Mumbai on November 14. Our news break came to be true. SRK himself graced the occasion for the launch of the skyscraper, called Shahrukhz By Danube, and as expected, raised laughs and touched hearts with his quotes. Rizwan Sajan spoke highly of Shah Rukh and how he had a long chat with his wife on Zoom when he told her that she was ill. But the event went on another level when King Khan made an entry.

Shah Rukh Khan warmly greeted Rizwan Sajan and gave a peck on the cheek to the host, Farah Khan. Farah joked, “I know you are all very jealous. Once more, please!” SRK smiled and kissed her cheeks again!

Shah Rukh then said, “Main Eid ka chand jaisa ho gaya hoon. Bahar kam aata hoon. Lekin jab aata hoon, tab kamaal aata hoon!” As expected, there was applause and hoots.

He revealed, “I asked Rizwan bhai if the event would be held in Dubai. He told me, ‘Nahin. Mera desh mere bahut kareeb hai. Hence, I want to launch it in Mumbai’. He meant it.”

Rizwan’s son, Adel Sajan, Managing Director, Danube Group, then took over and explained the salient features of Shahrukhz By Danube. He revealed that it’s a 55-storey office tower. He added, “Not only do we have a helipad, but also an air taxi station. In 2026, Dubai will be introducing Air Taxi station and you could be entering in style in Shah Rukh’s tower!”

Interestingly, the entrance of Shahrukhz By Danube will have a statue of Shah Rukh in his signature pose. Adel explained, “The idea is not just to have an office tower but my father’s vision was that he wanted it to be like a tourist destination. When my mother comes to Mumbai, the first thing she has to do is to go outside Mannat and take a picture. Likewise, millions of Indians go to Dubai. When we created Shahrukhz By Danube in the heart of Sheikh Zayed Road, we are anticipating that people are going to queue outside and take a picture with the King himself!”

After the presentation, Shah Rukh Khan was asked for his reaction. The superstar was too overwhelmed and he said, “What can I say? Meri maa zinda hoti toh bahut khush hoti! It’s a very big honour. When I take my kids to Dubai, I’ll tell them, ‘Yeh dekh. Papa ki building hai’ although the building is owned by Rizwan bhai! Lekin naam toh mera likha hoga (smiles).

The past week has been an emotionally turbulent one for the Deol family, as veteran actor Dharmendra’s hospitalisation sparked widespread concern — and eventually, controversy. After the 88-year-old star was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, a video recorded inside his room began circulating online, triggering outrage among fans and the film fraternity.

According to HT City, police have arrested the hospital staff member responsible for secretly recording and leaking the clip, acting under charges of invasion of privacy. The arrest was made on Thursday, signalling a serious response to what the family and many others deemed a deeply insensitive breach.

The video, which surfaced earlier this week, appeared to show Dharmendra surrounded by his family, including first wife Prakash Kaur. Several medical devices were attached to him, and the atmosphere in the room was visibly tense. Prakash Kaur was seen in tears while Sunny Deol attempted to comfort her. The private moment soon went viral on several social media platforms thus leading to the family taking legal action.

Dharmendra’s health had already been surrounded by speculation and misinformation, with several false reports suggesting a critical condition and even triggering premature death hoaxes. His children, Sunny Deol and Esha Deol, repeatedly urged fans not to pay attention to rumours, sharing reassurances and requesting calm. The wave of inaccurate updates also deeply distressed Hema Malini who criticised sections of the media for what she described as “insensitive coverage” during a vulnerable time for the family.

On Wednesday, more concrete information emerged when reports confirmed that Dharmendra had been discharged. The Deol family released a collective statement addressing fans and the press. “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home,” the note read. “We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family's privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone's love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

With the arrest now made and Dharmendra recuperating at home, the family hopes the focus will return to his recovery rather than sensationalism. For fans across the country, the priority remains the beloved actor’s well-being — and the hope that he returns to good health soon.

Ranbir Kapoor, who has long maintained an air of mystery around his social media presence, finally lifted the curtain during a recent event in Dubai, where he appeared alongside Alia Bhatt. When host Kris Fade posed the question he admits he has been bombarded with for over a decade — whether he is on Instagram — the actor responded with rare candour, mixed with his trademark humour.

Clearing the air, Ranbir admitted that while he is not officially on Instagram, he does have a “Finsta,” a private, anonymous account, further explaining the reason for that to be, “You know, because there's such amazing people in the world who do such amazing inspiration stuff. So I do want to follow them”. He added, “Because I'm an actor, I didn't want to officially be on Instagram. Then I have a responsibility to really show myself off to the world. And I felt that I already have a medium which is acting and in movies. And that's enough for me to show myself to the world.”

His honesty was met with cheers, prompting Ranbir to lighten the moment further. “You see, I’ve answered this question so many times and I always have a different answer. It may not be the truth,” he joked. “But I have to come up with a different answer because otherwise I’d seem boring because it’s been 10 years and I’ve always been asked this question.”

In one of the most heartwarming takeaways, Ranbir revealed that he once made a reel with his daughter for his Finsta, though the clip remains unseen by the world. “Actually, in my Finsta account, I did make a reel with my daughter. But I have no followers, so it’s just for the effort,” he said.

Alia Bhatt then jumped in with a playful complaint of her own. “He wouldn’t even let me follow him,” she laughed. “He’s like, no, because if you follow me, everyone will follow me. So I’m like peeking into his phone. He’s got like all of two reels on his Finsta account that only he and maybe two people would see. Alright, well, we’ll work it out.”

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor has a packed slate ahead. He is gearing up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. He will also be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, featuring Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol. Additionally, the actor is reportedly associated with Dhoom 4 and is expected to return in the Animal sequel, Animal Park.

With this candid confession, Ranbir’s elusive online persona becomes even more intriguing — and fans may now be more curious than ever about what really goes on inside that secret Finsta.

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards are just around the corner. The grand event is all set to take place on December 3 and 4 in Mumbai. It will see the presence of some of the biggest names in OTT gathered under one roof.

Before that happens, here’s looking at the women who changed the screen in 2025:

Sanya Malhotra

In the OTT release Mrs. (ZEE5) Sanya plays a trained dancer who, after marriage, finds herself struggling to reconcile her aspirations with the domestic expectations that surround her. The role sees her moving away from purely glamorous parts into more grounded, emotionally layered territory on streaming platforms.

Konkona Sen Sharma

In Search: The Naina Murder Case (JioHotstar) Konkona stars as ACP Sanyukta Das, investigating the murder of a teenager while juggling personal and professional pressures. The show positions her at the centre of a layered crime-drama, showing that streaming is providing roles where women lead intense investigative narratives.

Prajakta Koli

In Andhera (Amazon Prime), Prajakta is part of an ensemble in a supernatural thriller where her character navigates both horror and the psychological edges of the plot. This shows how OTT platforms in 2025 are creating space for actors primarily known for other formats (in this case YouTube / digital content) to step into genre heavy series.

Tanya Maniktala

In the Hindi-language series Loot Kaand (Amazon MX Player), Tanya plays Latika Mitra, in a story that centres on a heist/drama format. Her presence in a digitally released major series this year highlights how younger female actors are getting meaningful roles in OTT originals.

Shalini Pandey

While her largest OTT shows may still be forthcoming, she was seen in the show Dabba Cartel (Netflix). The crime drama saw her provide a mature performance as a young girl who is a part of a cartel. She succeeded in maintaining her ground despite the presence of powerful performers like Shabana Azmi and Jyotika.

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards is presented by SleepZ by Raymond, co-powered by Fima, Carlo Frattini, and Amante in association with Helios, Style Partner Rare Rabbit, Lovestory Patner Truly Madly, Stylish Furniture Partner Uraban Ladder, with healthcare partner HCG, skincare partner Fixferma, Spirituality partner Satvik, conversation partner Bevzilla, gourmet dessert partner Smoor, nutrition partner The Naturik Co., radio partner Radio City and celebration partner Heineken Silver.

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor took the stage at the FICCI Young Leaders Summit in Mumbai and delivered a candid and emotional talk on his struggles with obesity, mental health and the profound loss of his mother Mona Shourie Kapoor. He stressed the importance of normalising therapy and embracing vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness.

Kapoor revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic was a turning point for him. “I started therapy after realising that I hadn’t taken care of myself for a decade.” He also reflected on the emotional storm of his mother’s death in 2012, saying, “I was mourning and celebrating at the same time. I became a star overnight, but I was only running away from my pain.”

On his weight battle, Kapoor shared, “Losing 50 kilos took me four years. It was as much a mental battle as a physical one. I was lucky to have my mother’s support, but many people don’t have that kind of emotional or financial backing. When you lose your backbone at 25, what can the world do to you?”

He urged younger people to value mental health and therapy. “There’s nothing wrong with being vulnerable,” Kapoor emphasised, adding that “the strongest people are those who can acknowledge their emotions.” He described therapy as a “safe outlet for expression, helping individuals feel empowered and sensible.”

In closing, he encouraged the audience to “wear their emotions with pride” and insisted that one “can be emotional and still be powerful.”

Kapoor’s comments come at a time when mental-health dialogue in Bollywood is growing more open, and his personal confession adds a strong voice to the discussion.

The eighth episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Vicky Kaushal and Kriti Sanon and it made for a fun watch as they have never been paired together. Vicky raised laughs as he reacted to being called the ‘Green Flag Man’.

Vicky said, “I’ve received excellent training. Ab main Green Flag se Green Forest banna chahta hoon. Fir Green Planet banna chahta hoon. Fir achanak se Green Universe ban jaunga. I’m not going to stop. I’ll become green, greener, greenest!”

Vicky was asked how he met his wife Katrina. He replied, “I met Katrina Kaif backstage at an award show that I was hosting. She was there as a guest.” Kriti asked him, “Is this when you danced on 'Chinki Chameli' with her?” Vicky said, “I think so, yeah.”

He continued, “In fact, I met her the first time on stage and then we went backstage. I still remember that I had to take an entry, she had to take an entry and there was Sunil Grover along with me. The three of us were standing. Sunil and Katrina had shot Bharat (2019). So, they were like pally and friends. Sunil Grover introduced me to her. For the first 5 minutes of me meeting with Katrina, she trained me how to host the show! This was when we were going to go on stage just to say, 'Goodnight, everyone. Thank you for coming'. I have hosted the entire show, it’s all done!”

Vicky added, “It was like, 'Hi, I am Katrina', 'Hi, I am Vicky'. Then, she immediately told me, 'You know what? You shouldn't care about the audience. You should always do so-and-so'. I got a full-blown tutorial about how to host an award show, which I had already finished. That was my first interaction.”

Kriti Sanon then told Vicky Kaushal, “Katrina and I used to work out in the same gym. When she started dating you, her playlist suddenly changed. Suddenly, her playlist had Punjabi music. I looked at her and asked her, 'Is this your playlist?' Those were definitely not the songs she was listening to before.”

The eighth episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Vicky Kaushal and Kriti Sanon and it made for a fun watch as they have never been paired together. The highlight was when Vicky was asked about an embarrassing situation on the sets of a film. He narrated an incident that occurred when he was shooting for Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).

Vicky began by saying, “We were shooting in Serbia for all the action sequences. I was playing a special forces commando. So, my uniform had a lot of gadgets. One of the gadgets was a GoPro and it was on my shoulder. Director Aditya Dhar suggested, 'Let's keep it rolling. So, whatever footage we get, we'll put it in the war room scenes. This is your POV and that's what it should be'. Hence, he told me that 'Rather than shooting it separately, just keep it on'.”

Vicky continued, “The job of switching it on, during the take, and keeping it off, when the scene wasn't been shot, was given to the ADs. Of course, they used to forget. In between the shots, I would go to use the bathroom. The vanity vans in Serbia were not as lavish as the ones we have here. There, they have small trolleys. Hence, when I had to use the van, I used to bend, considering my height. Meanwhile, the GoPro was kept on my shoulder!”

Vicky Kaushal said, “A few days later, I asked my director, 'Bro, how’s the footage looking?'. He told me, 'Beta, main tujhe ek baat batana chahta hoon. Tu apna GoPro bandh kar liya kar' (laughs). I didn't understand and asked him, 'Why? What happened? We're getting extra footage'. The third edition of the Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards is all set to take place on December 3 and 4 in Mumbai. Those two days will celebrate some of the biggest names from the Indian OTT space, many of whom would gather under the same roof.

Before that happens, here’s looking back at 7 faces who owned OTT in 2025:

Jaideep Ahlawat

In his role in Paatal Lok Season 2, Jaideep Ahlawat brought a deeply conflicted, haunted cop to life, one who carries the weight of institutional failure, personal loss and moral frustration. His portrayal was noted for the layered nuance — anger simmering beneath control, vulnerability peeking through toughness — which lifted a gritty streaming narrative into something memorable.

Kajol

Making a mark in the digital space through The Trial Season 2, Kajol embraced a character that required her to sink into ambiguity and internal conflict — moving away from the more assured star-persona to someone unhinged, vulnerable yet defiant. Her willingness to adapt to OTT storytelling and anchor a show upon her shoulders earned attention for its mature craft.

Manoj Bajpayee

In a streaming thriller Despatch about investigative journalism and corporate corruption, Bajpayee delivered a performance that felt lived in: the weary investigator, the man caught between bureaucracy and truth, quiet but explosive when provoked. Critics and viewers alike pointed to the calm power of his acting as the pillar around which the film worked.

Sunny Kaushal

Breaking away from lighter or more conventional roles, Kaushal embraced complexity in the streaming film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, where his character navigates jealousy, manipulation and moral fall-outs. The turn was remarked upon for how it allowed him to explore a darker shade, proving he’s ready to take on off-beat, riskier work in the OTT space.

Jyotika

Known more for regional work, Jyotika’s venture into Hindi OTT with Dabba Cartel was noteworthy — she played a woman whose calm surface hides deep fissures of loyalty, ambition and survival. Her performance stood out precisely because of its restraint: she didn’t oversell emotion, she earned it, which made her part of a strong ensemble very impactful.

Abhishek Banerjee

In the film Stolen, Banerjee anchored a story of kidnapping, faith and class divide with rawness. The tension in his portrayal, the moral ambiguity he embodied, and the transformation the character goes through were all pointed to as high-points of the movie and a signal of his growing heft in OTT cinema.

Zahan Kapoor

In the gritty prison-drama series Black Warrant, Zahan Kapoor impressed many with his portrayal of a young officer in the brutal environment of Tihar Jail. Viewers and reviewers alike noted how he held his own in a high-intensity ensemble, bringing a grounded voice to a character thrust into chaos and moral test.

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards is presented by SleepZ by Raymond, co-powered by Fima, Carlo Frattini, and Amante in association with Helios, Style Partner Rare Rabbit, Lovestory Patner Truly Madly, Stylish Furniture Partner Uraban Ladder, with healthcare partner HCG, skincare partner Fixferma, Spirituality partner Satvik, conversation partner Bevzilla, gourmet dessert partner Smoor, nutrition partner The Naturik Co., radio partner Radio City and celebration partner Heineken Silver.

Siddhant Chaturvedi has impressed audiences ever since he made his film debut with Gully Boy (2019). Recently, he proved his worth yet again with Dhadak 2 (2025). Bollywood Hungama has learned that he has now bagged a film based on the legendary director, actor, producer and writer V Shantaram. The talented performer will play the lead role in this film, which has been titled Chitrapati V Shantaram.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “This will be Siddhant’s biggest film to date and also his most ambitious one. With his past work, he has made it clear that he has oodles of talent. This motivated the makers of Chitrapati V Shantaram to sign him for the lead role. The film is in pre-production right now and Siddhant is working very hard to get into the character.”

The source further said, “V Shantaram’s contribution to the Indian film industry is immense and with this film, the younger generation will learn about it. Chitrapati V Shantaram will throw light on how this man, born in abject poverty in Kolhapur, learned filmmaking under Baburao Painter in Pune, and then left an unforgettable mark in the Hindi film industry with movies like Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957), etc. This film will also educate viewers that he was a trendsetter - he was the first one to cast women, the first one to sell film music rights and the first filmmaker to attempt a colour film. His films, made at Prabhat Studios, won praise at Cannes, Venice and Berlin Film Festivals and was also honoured with a Golden Globe in the year 1959. Not many are aware that Charlie Chaplin had praised V Shantaram's work and also about his rivalry with Bombay's (present-day Mumbai) elite filmmakers. Hence, the biopic will not just be enlightening but also entertaining and dramatic.”

Shefali Shah’s portrayal of DCP—now DIG—Vartika Chaturvedi has long been one of the strongest pillars of Delhi Crime, a series that has earned global acclaim and remains India’s only International Emmy Award-winning show. With Season 3 gearing up for release, anticipation is at an all-time high, and Shefali’s recent fan interaction has further fuelled excitement around the upcoming chapter.

During an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked her about the most fulfilling moment she has experienced while playing Vartika. Shefali responded with characteristic honesty, saying the “love and respect” she continues to receive from viewers means the most to her, adding that being addressed as “Madam Sir” has become a cherished sentiment over the years. Her response underlines the emotional bond she shares with audiences—a connection strengthened since Delhi Crime first debuted.

The much-awaited Season 3 trailer released earlier this month, offering a glimpse into what is being described as the show’s most expansive narrative yet. Moving beyond Delhi, the new season widens its world across Assam, Rohtak, and several other regions as the investigation stretches across state lines. Produced by Golden Karavan and SK Global Entertainment, and directed by Tanuj Chopra, the series also brings together a compelling ensemble cast including Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Huma Qureshi, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisht, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Kelly Dorji.

At the heart of the story is DIG Vartika Chaturvedi, who begins probing a string of unexplained disappearances. As she and her team dig deeper, they uncover a chilling pattern pointing to systemic rot fuelled by fear, corruption, and silence. The investigation eventually reveals one recurring name across multiple cities—Badi Didi, played by Huma Qureshi. Described as ruthless, strategic, and perpetually ahead of the system, she emerges as the silent architect of a far-reaching criminal network.

What follows is an intense psychological standoff between two formidable women, each driven by conviction and unwilling to back down. With Shefali Shah bringing her trademark depth, restraint, and empathy to Vartika, the new season promises a gripping clash of ideologies as much as a crime thriller.

As Delhi Crime 3 prepares to return, Shefali’s reflections highlight why Vartika Chaturvedi remains one of the most respected and beloved characters in Indian storytelling—steadfast, human, and unafraid to confront the truth.

The Deol family was forced to intervene on Tuesday morning after a wave of false reports claiming that veteran star Dharmendra had passed away spread rapidly across social media and certain digital platforms. The rumours, which surfaced shortly after the news broke of the actor being hospitalised for age-related ailments, triggered widespread confusion among fans and prompted an outpouring of concern.

Dharmendra, who was admitted for routine monitoring a few days ago, has been under medical care but remains stable and on the road to recovery, according to his family. Despite his children already keeping followers updated on his progress, misinformation continued to circulate, causing distress to both fans and the actor’s loved ones.

Deeply upset by the insensitivity, Hema Malini took to social media to issue a firm statement condemning the false reports. Calling the situation “unforgivable,” the actress and parliamentarian expressed shock at how “responsible channels” could circulate such baseless news. She emphasised that Dharmendra is “responding to treatment and recovering,” and criticised the spread of rumours as “extremely disrespectful and irresponsible.” She further urged media outlets and social media users to allow the family space during this time, stressing the importance of respecting their need for privacy.

What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy. — Hema Malini (@dreamgirlhema) November 11, 2025

Esha Deol, too, voiced her frustration with the situation, calling out the media’s haste in spreading unverified information. She reassured fans that her father is stable and recovering, adding that the family remains grateful for the prayers and well-wishes pouring in. Her message was clear: the Deols do not seek public speculation, only privacy and sensitivity from those reporting on the actor’s health.

The rumours began circulating after reports emerged on Monday about Dharmendra being admitted to the hospital once again, which was quickly amplified online. By Tuesday, the misinformation had escalated to the point of falsely declaring the actor dead, compelling the family to step in and clarify the truth.

Dharmendra, a beloved figure in Indian cinema with a career spanning over six decades, continues to receive strong support from fans who have flooded social media with messages of love and prayers for his speedy recovery. With his family assuring that he is stable, they hope the public will rely on verified updates moving forward and refrain from sharing misleading content.

Actress Aradhana Sharma is at the centre of one of television’s most nostalgic revivals as she takes on the lead role in Rajni 2.0, the contemporary reimagining of the 1985 classic Rajani. For millions of viewers, the original series — headlined by the late Priya Tendulkar — was more than a weekly show. It was a landmark movement that confronted corruption, questioned social norms and showcased an ordinary woman’s extraordinary courage.

With Rajni 2.0, that legacy returns, this time through the journey of Rajni’s daughter Guddu, played by Aradhana. And for the young actress, carrying forward a character that once defined Indian television comes with both pride and pressure. “It’s a big responsibility to do justice to the show because it’s a classic,” Aradhana said, acknowledging the emotional weight attached to the revival. “You can’t treat something like Rajni lightly — it’s more than entertainment, it’s a legacy. I had to be completely immersed in my character to ensure I did justice to the values and depth that the original Rajni stood for.”

Aradhana’s character mirrors the grit, moral strength and fearlessness that made Priya Tendulkar’s Rajni unforgettable — but with nuances shaped by today’s world. Rajni 2.0 explores how Guddu stands up against modern-day challenges, from institutional apathy to everyday injustice, while staying true to the essence of the original show. “For me, this isn’t just a performance — it’s a tribute,” Aradhana explained. “Priya ma’am created a woman who wasn’t afraid to speak up, even when it was uncomfortable. Through Rajni 2.0, we’re carrying that spirit forward for today’s generation — where the challenges are different, but the need for courage is the same.”

Early reactions indicate that audiences are connecting strongly with Aradhana’s portrayal, praising her grounded yet impactful screen presence. As Rajni 2.0 continues its run, Aradhana stands as the new face of a timeless message — that one voice, armed with conviction, can still spark change.

In a deeply personal and emotional conversation on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast Chapter 2, Vijay Varma opened up about battling depression, navigating a turbulent childhood, and repairing his inner world through therapy and support from close friends.

The actor shared that while he had immense admiration for his father growing up, things began to shift during his teenage years. “He loved me, but he wanted so many things from me that I didn’t want — my career, my friends, even how I spent my time. Everything about me seemed to bother him,” he said, recalling how their conflicting ideologies strained the bond. As he grew older, the tension only intensified. “Actually, I could have enjoyed the business — but I didn’t enjoy my father’s company. His temper grew exponentially as I entered my teens. The more I resisted, the angrier he became,” Vijay added.

His passion for theatre became another point of conflict. When he confessed his desire to pursue it, the reaction he received pushed him to make a life-changing decision. “I called him and lied that I got a scholarship and it’s a one-year course. He said something nasty and warned, ‘You better leave before I return.’ So I packed my bags and left. I didn’t want havoc,” the actor recalled. Over the years, he found emotional solace in his mother, whom he described as his anchor.

However, the guilt of leaving home resurfaced years later during the COVID-19 lockdown, when he was isolated in his Mumbai apartment. “I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. My therapist even suggested medication. I told her, ‘Let me try managing for now,’” Vijay shared.

He credited Ira Khan and Gulshan Devaiah for stepping in when he was at his lowest. “I kept deteriorating. Ira was the first to say, ‘Vijay, you need to start moving.’ She made me join Zoom workouts. She was like my coach,” he said.

Therapy became a powerful outlet for unresolved pain. Opening up about the emotional breakdowns he experienced, he admitted, “I have never spoken openly about many things that I hadn’t processed. Therapy and yoga brought everything up. During Surya Namaskar, I would collapse and cry for hours without knowing why.”

Grateful for the timely intervention, Vijay added, “I’m glad Ira stepped in at the right time. She told me therapy isn’t bad. Coming from a dysfunctional family, if you don’t sort things out, it leaves a lasting mark. You think you’ve forgotten childhood hurt, but the subconscious remembers.”

With this rare moment of vulnerability, Vijay Varma shed light on the importance of mental health, emotional healing, and the crucial role of a strong support system—both in life and in the entertainment industry.

Bollywood Hungama was among the first ones to break the news that Sooraj Barjatya’s next family entertainer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, would go on floors on November 1. We have now learned what this film has got its title. It was reportedly earlier titled Prem Ki Shaadi, but now it has come to light that the film is called Yeh Prem Mol Liya.

A photographer named Ravendra Singh Bhadauria uploaded a picture on Instagram on November 6 that features a DSLR camera resting next to the clapperboard of the film. The clapperboard clearly mentions the name of the film, that is, Yeh Prem Mol Liya.

As per a report in Mid-Day, a week-long shoot was completed in Kandivali. Sooraj Barjatya shot a grand scale in this schedule, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sharvari, other actors of the cast and 200 background dancers.

The Mid-Day article also stated that the next schedule of the film will begin this week at Mehboob Studios. At the Bandra shooting venue, the team plans to complete 80% of the shoot, after which a few outdoor portions will remain. If all goes well, the shoot of Yeh Prem Mol Liya will be wrapped up by January 2026. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Seema Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak in pivotal roles, reportedly.

Yeh Prem Mol Liya is presented and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani. A source told Bollywood Hungama last month, “After Uunchai (2022), Sooraj Barjatya’s last film, Rajshri Productions has decided to join hands once again with Mahaveer Jain Films. Both Sooraj Barjatya and Mahaveer Jain had a wonderful time working with each other on Uunchai and hence, they decided to collaborate once more for the upcoming film.”

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards are all set to take place on December 3 and 4 in Mumbai. The grand event will see some of the biggest names from the streaming world gather under one roof.

The OTT medium has helped a lot of Hindi film actors become known names. As we brace ourselves for the grand event, here’s having a look at 7 Hindi cinema actors who have found freedom online:

Sushmita Sen – Aarya Series (Disney+ Hotstar) & Taali

After years away from the big screen, Sushmita Sen made a phenomenal return with Aarya, playing a mother forced into the world of crime. Her commanding presence and emotional depth made the show one of the most acclaimed OTT hits. She followed it up with Taali, portraying transgender activist Gauri Sawant with rare dignity and power, reaffirming her status as a fearless performer.

Manoj Bajpayee – The Family Man (Prime Video) & Killer Soup (Netflix)

Manoj Bajpayee became the face of India’s streaming boom with The Family Man, where his portrayal of the relatable yet razor-sharp Srikant Tiwari redefined the Indian spy genre. In Killer Soup, he showcased his chameleon-like range by playing dual roles with dark humour and emotional precision. OTT gave Bajpayee the mainstream recognition he long deserved.

Jaideep Ahlawat – Paatal Lok (Prime Video) & The Broken News (ZEE5)

Jaideep Ahlawat’s breakout as Hathiram Chaudhary in Paatal Lok was nothing short of phenomenal — raw, real, and riveting. The show cemented him as one of the finest actors of his generation. He continued his winning streak with The Broken News and web films like Jaane Jaan, proving that subtlety and intensity can coexist beautifully in performance.

Raveena Tandon – Aranyak (Netflix) & Karmma Calling (Disney+ Hotstar)

His understated brilliance has made him a favourite of both critics and audiences.

Karishma Tanna – Scoop (Netflix)

Karishma Tanna reinvented herself completely with Hansal Mehta’s Scoop, based on journalist Jigna Vora’s life. From glamour to grit, Tanna’s transformation has been one of OTT’s most inspiring success stories.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is known to impose several cuts or ask for replacements and modifications in scenes or dialogues that they find inappropriate or objectionable. Even clean family entertainers have gone through such censorship. Hence, it’ll be a pleasant surprise for our readers to know that De De Pyaar De 2 has proved to be an exception.

Bollywood Hungama has learned that the upcoming Ajay Devgn-R Madhavan-Rakul Preet Singh starrer has not got a single visual or audio cut. The film has been passed as it is by the Examining Committee of the CBFC. The film has received a U/A 13+ certificate and the process was completed on November 6. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 147.10 minutes. In other words, De De Pyaar De 2 is 2 hours, 27 minutes and 10 seconds long. It releases in cinemas on November 14.

Past experience

De De Pyaar De 2 is a sequel to the Ajay Devgn-Tabu-Rakul Preet Singh starrer De De Pyaar De (2019), which suffered several cuts from the CBFC. Even then, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news about its CBFC process. Back then, the CBFC shockingly deleted the visuals of Rakul Preet Singh holding an alcohol bottle and replaced it with the actress holding flowers! Two dialogues, which had double entendre, were also asked to be modified.

Second zero cut film of the month

De De Pyaar De 2 is the second November release to be passed uncut, the first being Haq, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam. It is based on the Shah Bano case and such controversial and sensitive films often get the maximum cuts from the CBFC. But like the Ajay Devgn-starrer, it also got a U/A 13+ certificate with no cuts. Its length is 136 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 16 minutes and its makers were handed over the censor certificate on October 28. The film was released in cinemas on November 7.

Harshvardhan Rane, currently enjoying box office success with his romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, has unexpectedly become the centre of a social media debate — and this time, it’s not for his performance. A scene from the Milap Zaveri directorial has caught the attention of netizens and even medical professionals, leading to a wave of memes, criticisms and light-hearted trolling.

The moment under scrutiny appears in a sequence where Rane’s character sustains a bullet injury to his arm. While the narrative intends to depict the urgency of medical care, viewers were quick to point out a glaring continuity error: the dressing for the wound is applied over the actor’s shirt instead of on the skin. A doctor, who stumbled upon the clip, shared it on X (formerly Twitter) with a sarcastic caption that read, “Bollywood doctors are soo advanced… Shirt ke upper dressing…”

The post quickly gained traction, and social media users wasted no time turning the clip into meme material. Comments ranged from snarky to outright hilarious, with one user writing, “Maybe they couldn’t afford to tear that shirt,” while another joked, “They don’t use two brain cells.” Some others added to the humour with quips like “Sare COVID me pass out huye hai (they all passed out in COVID),” “Mashoor Gulati is their doctor,” and “Everything is possible in love and Bollywood.” A particularly popular comment read, “Even his shirt got hit by the bullet.”

Despite the trolling, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continues to draw audiences. The film, described as an intense romantic drama, features Sonam Bajwa alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Directed by Milap Zaveri and written by Zaveri and Mushtaq Shiekh, the project is backed by Desi Movies Factory. Released on 21 October 2025 during the Diwali weekend, it faced competition from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe title Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.

While the blooper has triggered online amusement, it hasn’t dampened the film’s commercial run. For now, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is trending both for its box office performance and for a moment of unintended comedy that the internet refuses to let go.

A special screening for Baramulla was organized for the press at a preview theatre in Mumbai. This was followed by an interactive session with Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director, Original Films, Netflix India, producers Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar, director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, writer Monal Thaakar and actor Bhasha Sumbli.

Aditya Dhar is one of the writers of the film as well, along with Monal. He explained, “For all of us filmmakers, whatever films we make, it all comes from our past and our life experiences. Those who have had good life experiences become Sooraj Barjatya! Those who go through difficult life experiences become Anurag Kashyap. Hence, Baramulla is something that is very personal to me, being a Kashmiri. But the whole point was that even a lot of Kashmiri Muslims have suffered. It would be absolutely wrong to say that only Kashmiri Pandits have felt the pain.”

He added, “I know a lot of Kashmiri Muslims, who are my friends. They are in the police force and are doing a phenomenal job in Kashmir. One of the most difficult places in India to be a cop is Kashmir. In every other place in India, you don’t have a threat to life. Kashmir is the only place in India where any terrorist can come and shoot you from behind. This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the country. The cops out there are one of the patriotic bunch of people that I have seen.”

Aditya Dhar further said, “I attempted to tell this story where I combine what Kashmiri Pandits experience and what these patriotic Kashmiri Muslims are experiencing right now, especially when the latter are being termed as traitors. This was a small thought and written way back in 2016. I even forgot about it as time passed. When I tried selling the script, toh kisi ne mujhe bahut gande paise offer kiye the. This is when I made up my mind that I would not sell this subject for a pittance and that I would make this film the right way.”

Baramulla is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios and releases on Netflix on November 7.

Aryan Khan, who recently earned appreciation for his debut Netflix directorial The Ba***ds of Bollywood, is already moving ahead with his next set of projects. The series, which featured Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol and an ensemble cast, marked Aryan’s official entry as a director and showcased his inclination towards bold storytelling. With the streaming debut now behind him, the filmmaker is preparing for a larger leap — a theatrical feature.

According to industry sources, Aryan's next directorial will be a full-fledged film intended for a big-screen release. The young filmmaker is reportedly determined to establish himself in the theatrical space before stepping into what will arguably be the most anticipated collaboration of his career — directing his father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

A source quoted by Pinkvilla revealed that Aryan is taking a measured, merit-driven approach to his career choices. “Aryan wants to deliver a theatrical success and prove himself as a filmmaker before taking on the challenge of directing his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan,” the insider shared. The intention, the source added, is to build credibility in the industry by letting the work speak for itself rather than relying on legacy or expectations.

Plans for the father-son collaboration are very much in motion, though the film is not expected to take off immediately. “If all goes as planned, Aryan’s third directorial will feature SRK in the lead. The father-son duo has already locked the core idea, but the collaboration is expected to take shape only in 2027,” the source added.

For now, Aryan is dedicating his attention to completing the script for his second feature film. The project is likely to enter the casting stage soon, with more details about the genre, ensemble, and production timeline expected to emerge in the coming months.

With his debut project sparking conversations and his next two films already generating industry buzz, Aryan Khan appears to be pacing his journey with focus and strategic clarity. As anticipation builds for his theatrical debut — and eventually, his directorial collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan — all eyes are on the young filmmaker’s next move.

Actor Sonam Khan recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she shared a throwback video featuring the late Rishi Kapoor from her debut film Vijay, directed by Yash Chopra. Posting the clip on social media with the song ‘Ghafoor’ playing in the background, Sonak captioned it, “And just like that I started my journey with a bikini and a chocolate… Unabashedly…  Lights, camera, sound, and action! It was my first day ever facing the camera for the silver screen.”

Recalling the making of her first-ever scene, Sonam revealed that Yash Chopra was inspired by Bo Derek’s iconic beach run from the Hollywood film 10 — a moment that shaped her introduction sequence in Vijay. She shared, “I was surprisingly at ease during the shoot and kept eating Five Star chocolate bars throughout the day. That’s how I started my love affair with Five Star chocolate. I used to eat a couple of them during every shoot from then on, as I thought they were lucky for me. (A teenager’s mind is a tricky thing at times.)”

She also fondly remembered the professionalism and warmth of the late filmmaker and Rishi Kapoor. “Whenever Yash ji said ‘cut’ after a take, my hairstylist would come running towards me with my dressing gown. I was made to feel extremely comfortable, all thanks to Yash ji and Rishi Kapoor Sir. They had so much class and dignity,” she wrote.

Sonam concluded her post with a bittersweet reflection, sharing that Yash Chopra had later offered her Aaina, but she couldn’t take it up as she got married at 18 and stepped away from films. “Nonetheless, my dear friend Amrita Singh did a fabulous job in Aaina,” she added.

Her heartfelt post offered fans a glimpse into the charm and grace of Bollywood’s golden era and the sweet beginning of her journey with a Five Star in hand.

The sixth episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Manish Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha and the unusual BFFs made for a great watch. Both raised laughs as they went down memory lane and also spoke about the struggles of women.

Farah Khan said, “We have all gone through that time in our 20s where we think that if we don’t marry this person, then what will happen? Oh my god, I have prayed and walked nanga pair (barefoot) to Haji Ali because I wanted to marry this boy. Thank God, Haji Ali didn’t answer my prayer!”

She also revealed, “Even when my movie was not happening, when I wasn’t directing, I said chal (come on), let me do YouTube, because I can see the skew. Also, I have 3 kids who are going to university next year, and that’s bloody expensive. So, I just said for a lark, let me start a show on YouTube, and that just clicked. Your life can’t revolve around another person. I feel happiness has to come from within and from your work. Work actually gives me a lot of pleasure. Also, I feel that for me, I can work till I’m 80 because my work doesn’t depend on either my looks or clearly, not my body, ever!”

She fondly recalled her 2010 heist film, Tees Maar Khan (2010), that starred Twinkle Khanna’s husband, Akshay Kumar, “Contrary to the perception, it made Rs. 65 crores, 15 years ago. It’s a Gen Z cult film. In fact, when you ask which movie I should make a part 2 to, they write Tees Maar Khan.”

Twinkle added, “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me that there are some talks about Tees Maar Khan Part 2.” Ananya excitedly asked, “Can I be in it?” To which Farah responded, “Ya, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.” Kajol remarked, “She could be Sheila’s sister, Leela!”

The sixth episode of Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle featured Manish Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha and the unusual BFFs made for a great watch. They brought the house down as they talked about Ananya’s father, Chunky Panday. Farah said, “I had a crush on Chunky…mine was ek tarfa pyaar.”

Ananya Panday revealed, “Even Malaika Arora had a poster of my dad in her room.” Kajol and Twinkle Khanna were surprised to know he had such a craze. Farah remarked, “Chunky was a sex symbol.”

Ananya Panday shared a hilarious trivia about her father, “He’s constantly in his towel. I have to tell him, ‘My friends are coming home, my work people are coming home. Please put a shirt on’. Also, he doesn’t lock the bathroom door. He reasons, ‘It's my house. Why should I lock the bathroom?’.” Farah joked, “Now, when I come to your house, I know where to head!”

This is when Ananya told Farah, “My dad wants his shirt back from you!” A puzzled Twinkle asked, “Why do you have his shirt? To smell it at night.” Farah made a face and exulted, “Chhee, no!”

Ananya shared the story behind the shirt, “She was talking on the phone and she was having a very frantic conversation. At that time, my dog was really unwell. So, he was a little blind. He was peeing at random spots. She was having this frantic conversation and she slipped on the pee. She has gone flying! We have it on CCTV camera.”

Farah confessed, “Chunky sent that video to his entire family chat group!” She added, “I had to then obviously shower and he gave 50 rupaye ka Goa ka shirt, the one that you get on Baga Beach. This happened some 3 years ago and he still wants that shirt back.”

Twinkle Khanna quipped, “Now Dilip is using it as a pochha.” Farah agreed, “100%!”

Ananya Panday and Farah Khan recently appeared together on the Amazon Prime Video talk show Two Much With Twinkle and Kajol, and what unfolded on the couch was nothing short of a laughter riot. The episode saw the young actress narrating a side-splitting story about filmmaker Farah Khan and her father Chunky Panday — and it all began with an unexpected question about a t-shirt.

Ananya recalled asking Farah to return her father’s t-shirt, which left everyone puzzled. Host Twinkle Khanna jokingly quipped if Farah was secretly “smelling it at night,” prompting bursts of laughter from the audience. But Farah quickly clarified, explaining that she had only visited Chunky’s house — and that’s where the hilarious chain of events began.

Narrating the incident, Ananya said, “I don’t know what she was doing. She was talking on the phone. It was a very frantic conversation. And my dog at that time was really unwell and a little blind, so he was peeing at random spots. She’s on this frantic call, and suddenly she goes flying in the pee and slips! We even have it on CCTV camera.”

The revelation left Twinkle and Kajol in splits as Farah added, “One minute I was fine, and the next, Chunky had already sent the CCTV footage to our entire family group!” Ananya then shared how Farah ended up wearing her dad’s shirt after the incident.

Farah hilariously recalled, “Obviously I had to shower. Chunky gave me one of his shirts — a cheap one worth 50 rupees from Goa. You know those you get at Baga Beach? This was about three years ago, and he still wants it back!”

Keeping the laughter going, Twinkle remarked, “Now Dilip must be using it as a pocha,” to which Farah agreed, “100%! We’re using it as a pocha at home.”

On the professional front, Ananya Panday is currently gearing up for two major releases — Tu Mera Main Teri, Main Teri Tu Mera opposite Kartik Aaryan and Chand Mera Dil alongside Lakshya, both produced by Dharma Productions.

This light-hearted episode once again proved that when Bollywood’s wittiest personalities come together, laughter and chaos are guaranteed in equal measure.

2025 is truly the year of Harshvardhan Rane. In February, his much-loved love saga, Sanam Teri Kasam, re-released in cinemas and emerged as the biggest re-run hit of all time. On Diwali, his film, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, released despite several challenges. Yet, it managed to succeed based on the support of the mass audience and is all set to cross the Rs. 75 crore mark. In a rare instance, Harshvardhan Rane and co-star Sonam Bajwa didn’t do any pre-release promotions. Once the film scored at the ticket window, the actor set on a ‘vijay yatra’, that is, roadshows in the mass centres in the hinterland. The way the fans mobbed him is seen to be believed. It was also heartening as well as a bit scary to see Harshvardhan jumping into the crowd. A video, shot in Jaipur’s iconic cinema, Raj Mandir, shows the dashing performer being pulled by the fans on one side and the security team from the other, the latter saving him from getting hurt in the process.

Back from the roadshow, Harshvardhan Rane, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, spoke about this promotional exercise. While other actors prefer to keep a distance, the actor is an exception. We asked him about it. In his trademark style, Harshvardhan said, “Har sheher mein fans ke nakhuno se mera thoda sa khoon nikla hai. Lekin mera khoon ab mera nahi, unka hai (smiles)!”

Working on the back stories

Chatting with Harshvardhan Rane is always an enriching experience as his replies are never the usual, even for the usual questions. And when the questions are pointed towards his process of working on a film, you can be assured of an in-depth, fascinating answer.

This is what happened when the writer asked him about director Milap Zaveri’s recent revelation, in an exclusive interview to Bollywood Hungama, that Harshvardhan Rane gave valuable inputs to the script of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, especially the entire mother track.

Has Harshvardhan done this in the past as well? He replied, “I have given inputs in all my films (laughs). It is the greatness of Milap sir that he is even talking about it. Any other director would never confess about it. It shows how secure that man is that he even gave me the credit for adding a few vital points.”

Harshvardhan Rane said, “I feel it is a basic responsibility of an actor to give options. I am not saying to compulsorily incorporate my suggestion. Some other directors might not be as accommodating and I understand and respect that. The other basic responsibility of an actor is to write a back story. I wrote the whole backstory of my character in Taish (2020). I wrote the back story related to the tattoo in Sanam Teri Kasam (2016). The director in the film asked me to lift the cat. I asked the reason behind it. He told me, ‘Beta, billi hai. Usko utha ke doodh pila de. Isme kya sawaal puch raha hai’ (laughs)!”

He added, “It so happened that we didn’t shoot the cat scene that day. I went home and wrote the back story – Inder was jailed as a juvenile. It was cold and he heard the cries of a kitten from the prison ventilation window. Inder spoke to some people, begged in front of them and arranged for a packet of biscuits. He threw the biscuit from the ventilation. He heard the kitten consuming it. This happened for a week until one day, he heard a pack of dogs attacking the cat. From that day, he didn’t hear the sound of the cat. This episode formed a huge scar in his formative heart in those delicate years of his life. And this incident made him pick up a cat whenever he saw one.”

Harshvardhan continued, “For just that one small scene, I wrote at length. And I do this for every film (smiles). Writing a back story for an actor should be as common as walking on the left side of the street. In Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, I wrote the entire track about my mother as well as my father. I formed a bond with Shaad Randhawa. If you watch the film again, notice that I always look back at him while I am speaking. This wasn’t mentioned in any scene. Even if I am talking in some other direction, I would touch him or hold him.”
