Vaani Kapoor is no stranger to transformation, but her turn in Mandala Murders is something else entirely — a performance steeped in quiet torment, emotional claustrophobia, and the haunting stillness of unspoken pain. Netflix’s dark, psychological crime thriller doesn’t just stretch her as an actor; it forces her into an emotional terrain where shadows aren’t just visual but visceral.

For Kapoor, one scene remains etched in her memory. “There’s a moment when Rea finally feels relieved when the guilt of that little girl leaves her for good. It’s quiet but deeply emotional… like stepping into a space where pain and relief exist side by side,” she recalls. On set, it was less about grand gestures and more about surrendering to the subtleties — the slight relaxation of shoulders, the softening of eyes, the tear that falls after years of holding it back. “That rawness made the moment deeply personal for me.”

In Mandala Murders, trauma is not a plot device — it’s the air her character breathes. The series marries a labyrinthine mystery with aching questions about justice and identity. Kapoor admitted, “What stayed with me… was how it combines a gripping, out of the ordinary mystery with deep questions about justice and identity. Being part of a story that’s both intense and thought provoking made the experience special.”

This is Kapoor’s first major OTT release on Netflix, a platform that beams her performance to living rooms from Mumbai to Madrid. Did that global scale shift her approach? “There was definitely an awareness… but I’ve always believed in giving every character the same honesty and care, no matter who or how many people are watching. That said, it’s a really sweet feeling to know the love and appreciation are coming from all across the world.”

The series’ heavy atmosphere isn’t just in the writing — it’s in the production design, where dimly lit rooms, oppressive colour palettes, and a constant hum of unease seep into her performance. “The sets, colours, and atmosphere made the world feel heavy and tense, which helped me show how she was feeling inside. Being in that environment made it easier to bring her story to life in a natural way.”

Now that she’s proven her mettle in the dark, twisted corridors of crime drama, does Kapoor see herself returning to this genre? Her answer is telling. “I believe there’s room to explore all kinds of characters and stories. So, I’m open to wherever the journey takes me next.”

In Mandala Murders, Vaani Kapoor doesn’t just shed her glamorous image — she buries it, only to exhume something far more compelling: an actress willing to embrace discomfort, mine silence for meaning, and let the shadows speak as loudly as the light. It’s the kind of performance that lingers long after the credits roll, quietly taking up residence in the viewer’s mind — exactly where she wants it.

The clash between Hrithik Roshan and NTR's War 2 with Rajinikanth's Coolie is turning out to be a lot more intense than expected. While the Lokesh Kanagaraj film is running a one-horse race at the worldwide box office, it has managed to fight against the YRF Spy Universe saga despite a limited release in some centres. Going against the general norm, the iconic single screen of India - Raj Mandir - has allotted 1 show to Coolie and 4 shows to War 2 on Thursday.

And to everyone's surprise, Coolie is scoring better per-show than War 2 at the iconic single screens, despite not getting a single prime time show. As per the data set we analysed early in the morning on BookMyShow, Coolie has sold 250 tickets in Raj Mandir for the 8.45 AM show alone, whereas War 2 has sold overall 500 tickets in all 4 shows put together.

The per-show average of Coolie is 250, and there is a high chance for it to get housefull in advance booking alone. The per-show average of War 2 on the other hand is half of Coolie i.e. 125 tickets per show. A source told Bollywood Hungama on anonymity, "If Coolie had got one more show in Raj Mandir, it could have surpassed the overall sales of War 2. However, the film is still fighting out a 400 crore biggie with just one show. The hype for Coolie is real, but restricted due to fractured showcasing."

At the moment, Raj Mandir is one of the very few cinema halls to share shows of War 2 with Coolie. It would be exciting to see if others follow the same.

The makers and cast of the much-awaited historical drama Chhaava recently gathered for a Star Gold roundtable, where they revealed astonishing, unplanned coincidences that occurred during the film’s production — events that mirror the very history they were recreating on screen.

At the heart of these revelations was a remarkable incident during the shooting of the film’s climax. The night of February 2 marked the gruelling shoot of a pivotal, intense sequence involving actor Vicky Kaushal. During this demanding scene, Vicky suffered a nerve injury to his arm, which forced the entire production to halt for nearly two months. What left the entire Chhaava team in awe was the realization that this exact date — February 2 — is historically significant as the day when Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj endured brutal torture in real life. This eerie parallel added an unexpected depth and emotional gravity to the filming experience, making the team feel a deep connection to the legendary Maratha warrior’s sacrifice.

The coincidences did not end there. While shooting the Rajyabhishek (coronation) scene of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the cast and crew were struck by the fact that the filming date aligned perfectly with Sambhaji Maharaj’s actual ascension to the throne. This serendipitous timing further intensified the sense of destiny surrounding the project, as if the past and present were converging in a poetic dance of history and cinema.

Director Laxman Utekar, alongside Vicky Kaushal, Divya Dutta (who portrays Maharani Soyrabai), and Vineet Singh Kumar (playing Kavi Kalash), shared these behind-the-scenes moments, expressing how these unplanned historical coincidences left them inspired and humbled. The experience has given Chhaava a profound emotional layer that audiences are sure to feel.

Chhaava is set to premiere on Star Gold this Independence Day weekend, August 17, Sunday at 8 PM. This epic saga of courage, sacrifice, and honor pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, making it a must-watch for history buffs and cinema lovers alike. Don’t miss witnessing the roar of Chhaava and experience history coming alive on your screens this Independence Day!

This must be the only film in the world with the word ‘toilet’ in its title? Sir, I am very proud of that film, and not the least bit apologetic about the title. The film addressed the crucial issue of sanitation and hygiene for women. Even today, women travelling long distances often have no access to proper washrooms. Men can relieve themselves anywhere, but for women… it’s a very different challenge.

That’s true. Do you think Toilet: Ek Prem Katha brought about a change in the way we look at hygiene for women? I would like to think so. As a woman, I empathised deeply with Bhumi Pednekar’s character. I feel we don’t address women-centric issues often enough.

I agree. But your new film Jatadhara is a masculine action film? Sir, you are mistaken. Jatadhara has a very strong female protagonist, played by Sonakshi Sinha. When you see her in the film, you will be stunned. I promise you.

Waiting to be stunned. What is your most cherished memory of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha? Akshay Sir’s warmth, support, and confidence. It encouraged all of us to do our best. Now, I want to make a sequel to Toilet: Ek Prem Katha that focuses on the safety of women in public spaces.

Would Akshay be a part of it? If he agreed to be part of it, we would be honoured and delighted.

The advance booking of War 2 commenced on Saturday and the excitement for the film is increasing as the release date of August 14 nears. The producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), are also distributing the film and they have all gone out to ensure that the Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer gets the best showcasing. Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in providing exciting updates about this film and today, we bring to you the release strategy opted for by YRF.

An exhibition source told Bollywood Hungama, “The distribution wing of YRF has sent a list of requirements to all the theatres. To begin with, they have asked single-screen cinemas that they can't split shows. In other words, the cinema hall should allot all shows in their property to War 2. The same directive also applies to two-screen and three-screen cinemas as well.”

The source further said, “The YRF team has asked 2-screen properties to play a minimum of 12 shows of War 2 and a minimum of 18 shows need to be played in 3-screen theatres. Multiplexes with 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 21, 27 and 30 shows a day respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 36 shows are a must, while for 8-screen plexes, 42 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 48 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 54 shows.”

Finally, the distribution team made it clear that all cinemas should confirm the show timings and pricing with their office before commencing the advance booking for War 2. A few days ago, Bollywood Hungama had reported that YRF has asked cinemas to go for mega blockbuster pricing for War 2. As a result, the ticket rates are expected to be in the same range as Pushpa 2 – The Rule.

In a recent and deeply personal revelation, actor Faisal Khan has accused his family of confining him at home for a year, labelling him as mentally ill and claiming he was subjected to treatment against his will. After his statements have stirred significant media attention, a united response was issued by the Khan family. Aamir Khan, along with other family members, issued a heartfelt collective statement addressing Faisal’s accusations.

Faisal was seen speaking to Pinkvilla wherein he said, “Mujhe qaid kar ke rakha tha ghar mein ek saal (I was confined in the house for a year) and they were saying I’ve got schizophrenia and I’m a mad person and I will harm society. JJ Hospital mein mujhe 20 din rakha gaya (I was kept at the hospital for 20 days), test kiya gaya, general ward mein, mental logon ke saath (I was tested in the general ward where I was kept with mental people).”

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan and his family family expressed their distress over the “hurtful and misleading portrayal” of Zeenat Tahir Husain, Nikhat Hegde, and Aamir himself. They emphasized in the statement that all (these) decisions regarding Faisal’s care were made with collective consent and medical guidance. “It is important to share that every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing,” the statement reads.

The Khan family also revealed that they have avoided discussing these private matters publicly to protect the dignity and privacy of all involved. They made a sincere request to the media to handle the situation with sensitivity and avoid sensationalizing a painful period for their family. “We request the media for empathy, and to refrain from turning a private matter into salacious, inflammatory and hurtful gossip,” they urged.

The statement was signed by several family members, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Farhat Datta, Rajiv Datta, Kiran Rao, Santosh Hegde, Seher Hegde, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, Imran Khan, Tina Fonseca, Zayn Marie Khan, and Pablo Khan, reflecting a unified front amid the ongoing controversy.

Faisal Khan, once a promising child actor, has had a turbulent journey with mental health struggles that have often been in the public eye. His recent revelations shed light on the challenges faced within families when dealing with psychological disorders and the complexities that arise when private issues become public.

This episode highlights the crucial need for compassion and understanding towards mental health, especially when it involves loved ones. The Khan family’s plea for privacy and empathy serves as a reminder to approach such sensitive matters with care, rather than judgment or sensationalism.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR attended the much-talked-about War 2 promotional event organized on a grand scale in Hyderabad. First, Akshaye Widhani of Yash Raj Films (YRF) came to speak, followed by director Ayan Mukerji. Finally, both Hrithik and NTR came on stage and it led to a frenzy. The speech by NTR was the final attraction of the event and it was worth the wait.

Jr NTR began by saying, “I would like to thank Adi Chopra sir for giving me the confidence to do this film. I can’t wait to be back with YRF. I would like to thank my director, Ayan Mukerji. There wouldn’t have been any director in this country other than Ayan Mukerji to helm War 2! Ayan Mukerji was the only option and he would be remembered for directing one of the greatest films of our time, called War 2. I know how many sleepless nights he has spent carving this amazing visual extravaganza. Thank you Ayan, for being a guiding force for me and Hrithik sir. 2025 will have another blockbuster director emerging in this country and his name is going to be Ayan Mukerji.”

Jr NTR continued, “When I saw Hrithik in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000), I went mad. One of the finest and impeccable actors, that is Mr Hrithik Roshan. If there’s any actor in this country who is most dedicated to his craft, it's Mr Hrithik Roshan. If there’s a person who has got humbleness towards his profession, it’s Mr Hrithik Roshan. He is the greatest dancer of our country!”

Hrithik smiled and shook his head, indicating that he disagreed with the statement. Jr NTR told Hrithik, “I am extremely proud to have danced beside you. There’s no competition here. It's not about who has done the best. The song (‘Janaab-e-Aali’) compliments two good dancers.”

Jr NTR further said, “I have learnt a lot from that man. I have seen myself multiple times in Mr Hrithik Roshan. There’s a quality in me – try and try till you die. You, Hrithik sir, have made it stronger in me. 75 days of working with you have taught me so much. I can’t wait to get back on screen with you again. Thank you so much for welcoming me with open arms and for giving me that beautiful hug on the first day. I’ll never forget those moments.”

The man of the masses then remarked, “This is not a movie of NTR going into Hindi cinema, but this is equally Hrithik sir coming to Telugu cinema!”

War 2 releases in cinemas on August 14.

Veteran filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, known for redefining family entertainment in Indian cinema, recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama about his upcoming television serial Manpasand Ki Shaadi (Colors TV) and his filmmaking philosophy, drawing parallels with contemporaries Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra.

In the candid conversation, Barjatya reflected on how their shared backgrounds shaped their creative approach. “Actually, the three of us are quite in tandem on one point. They are much younger than me, but we are of the same generation, and plus we are golden spoon people. We haven’t seen the ups and downs of life. We have always traveled in cars,” he said.

According to the Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! director, this privileged upbringing influenced the kind of cinema they make. “When our time came, we were passionate about filmmaking. So we showed the world that it was a fairy tale, and that was the era of the 90s, where people wanted to see fairy tales. We are into one particular kind of cinema. But I think both Adi and Karan, and I, we all would like to show dreams. If any of us is asked to go to reality, I think none of us knows that life. To that extent, we are a little spoiled.”

A post shared by RK (@rohitkhilnani)

Barjatya also described himself as the most traditional among the trio. “Maybe it has to do with my upbringing. But essentially, we three are on the good side, on the simple side. I am sure if given a choice, even Karan would like to do Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani today. It may be to do with our age, but essentially, we are making family films. Comparatively, I am the most conservative of the three of us—and I think that lies in my strength.”

The Hindi remake of The Intern, first announced in 2021 with Deepika Padukone producing and starring, is finally seeing fresh developments—though not in the way fans initially expected.

Back in 2021, the project was intended for a swift turnaround, with plans for release the very next year. However, after nearly five years of little progress and only sporadic updates, reports now suggest that Padukone will no longer appear on screen in the film. Instead, she will take on the role of producer exclusively, overseeing what’s being described as a “creative and logistical reboot” of the project.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “This time, Deepika will step away from acting in the film to serve solely as a producer, overseeing the creative and logistical reboot. A new leading lady is being cast to play the part she was once slated to perform.”

According to the source, the decision comes as part of Padukone’s broader career shift towards creation and storytelling. “The Intern is the first of five projects she plans to mount in the coming year. She is looking to tell stories that are globally relevant,” the insider added.

The original 2015 Hollywood film, directed by Nancy Meyers, starred Robert De Niro as a senior intern at a fashion start-up, alongside Anne Hathaway. The story has already been adapted in Japan as the 2022 TV drama Unicorn Ni Notte, featuring Hidetoshi Nishijima in De Niro’s role and Mei Nagano in Hathaway’s part.

With Padukone now solely behind the camera, casting for the lead role in the Hindi remake is underway.

Viju Shah is known for giving music mostly in Rajiv Rai’s films. But he also composed music for filmmaker Hansal Mehta when he was just starting out with Chhal. Starring Kay Kay Menon, Prashant Narayan, Jaya Seal and Shri Vallabh Vyas, the underworld drama was acclaimed for its storytelling and music. As Chhal completes 23 years, Viju Shah looked back at the film in an interview with us.

You have been mostly associated with Rajiv Rai’s cinema. But Chhal was an early collaboration with Hansal Mehta

Chhal marked my first time association with producer Nitin Patil, director Hansal Mehta, lyricist Amitabh Varma, recording and mixing engineer Tanay Gajjar (Ava Studio) and of course singer KK… The experience on the whole was very enjoyable.

It was amazing how space was made in Chhal for music and songs

Chhal although not being a musical, had decent music considering the genre of the film. I remember singer KK being excited and thrilled rendering the title track of the film. Other singers being Asha Bhosleji, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam and Shaan. Javed Ali sang an alaap in one of the songs. I also enjoyed working on the background score of the film. Chhal also happened to be the debut film of actors Kay Kay Menon and Prashant Narayan. I must tell you what happened before the recording of the song ‘Dil Jhanjhanale Jaane Jaana sung’.

Do tell

Ava Studio happened to be on the 4th floor. On the day of Ashaji’s dub, the lift was out of order. Instead of cancelling the dub, Ashaji climbed four floors to dub the song. Such was her commitment and dedication towards her profession. I can never forget this noble gesture.

Mahavatar Narsimha ends with the promise of a sequel, Mahavatar Parshuram. Ashwin Kumar was asked about it and also spending eight years making the first part.

The director said, “When you look at the technological advances that are there today, we didn’t have those facilities when we started out. Also, we were dealing with a certain budget and technology at hand. Also, technology obsoletes faster than you think. It is only by the grace of the divine that it (Mahavatar Narsimha) has been pulled off to such an extent. But from the next time around, janta jandardhan ko expectation hai. Hence, we also need to up our game and up our technology. Fortunately, we have wonderful producers and distributors. Also, we have the tech and the artists. So, we need to pan it out faster. Hence, we are looking at arriving (with Mahavatar Parshuram) in two years.”

Ashwin Kumar further said, “It’ll make for a never-seen-before experience and on a scale that’s never been experienced before. That is my promise to you!”

For years, Raghav Juyal was celebrated as the entertainer who lit up every frame—his signature slow-mo dance moves and effortless comic timing made him a crowd favorite. But one year ago, everything changed. With the release of Kill, and then Gyarah Gyarah, the spotlight shifted—and so did the story.

In the series, audiences met a version of Raghav they hadn’t seen before: quiet, grounded, and arrestingly still. As Inspector Yug Arya, he didn't play to the gallery. He pulled viewers in, not with flamboyance, but with restraint—and the impact was undeniable.

Reflecting on the role a year later, Raghav says, “The uniform changed how I spoke, how I stood, how I listened. It carried weight—even in silence. I wasn’t just solving a case on screen. I was solving how people saw me. I had to unlearn the performer in me to find the stillness of Yug. Slowly, he grew inside me. His silences, his still gaze, his posture—they stayed with me, even off set. I felt like I owed the uniform, and the man wearing it, a certain respect.”

Gyarah Gyarah wasn’t just another credit on his filmography—it became a pivot. While the show featured a compelling ensemble and layered storytelling, Raghav’s performance emerged as yet another breakthrough after Kill—quietly redefining his screen identity.

The much-anticipated war drama Battle of Galwan, starring Salman Khan as Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, is set to roll cameras in Ladakh later this month, skipping its originally planned Mumbai schedule. Earlier, it was reported that an elaborate set was under construction at Mehboob Studios in Bandra for the first leg of shooting for Apoorva Lakhia’s directorial venture. However, production plans have now shifted. Reportedly, the film will commence its shoot in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, with the Mumbai leg postponed indefinitely.

Creative Call Behind the Change

Mid-Day quoted an insider saying, “It’s a creative decision. The makers want to start directly with the action scenes. Also, Salman sports a distinct look, and for continuity purposes, there couldn’t have been a 30-day gap between the Mumbai and Ladakh stints. Apoorva felt that the sequences would need to be shot in succession.”

The report further added that the Bandra set, which had been readied for the initial shoot, is now being dismantled. Whether any sequences — such as a song or patchwork shots — will eventually be filmed in Mumbai will be decided during the project’s final phase.

Battle of Galwan will depict the India–China military clash that occurred in June 2020. Salman Khan will portray Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra in 2021 for his bravery during the confrontation.

While rumours have circulated about potential hurdles with the Ministry of Defence over the film’s sensitive subject, sources close to the production dismiss them. “The film is about a soldier’s bravery. It’s not villainising another country. The makers wouldn’t have announced the film without permissions in place,” the insider clarified.

The Rajinikanth led Coolie is turning out to be a box office hurricane as the film has surpassed all expectations in the advance booking. With 6 days to go for release, Coolie has sold tickets worth Rs. 27 crores in the international markets, making it the best advance of all time for an Indian film outside of Baahubali 2. Leading from the front is the US, followed by Malaysia, the UAE, and Australia/New Zealand.

The film is looking to score history at the box office with an unimaginable opening day at the overseas market. The first day could be as high as Rs. 80 crores on Thursday, which speaks volumes about the hype commanded by Coolie among the cinema-going audience. While the total overseas advance of Coolie stands at Rs. 27 crores, War 2 has a sub-par response with advances of Rs. 4.50 crores. The Telugu version of War 2 has contributed 50 percent to the total advances so far.

The film is trailing behind Coolie internationally, and the hope for revival in this will be the business in India, especially driven by NTR Jr. in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Hrithik Roshan in the Hindi markets. At the moment, it looks like a clean sweep for Coolie to emerge as the first pick at the worldwide box office, until and unless War 2 makes up for the overseas gap with performance in India. Right now, it's safe to conclude that the hype for War 2 is hit by a tornado in the form of Coolie.

The powerhouse performance of Rani Mukerji in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway has been lauded as one of the most emotionally stirring acts of her career, earning her the prestigious National Award for Best Actress. Now, director Ashima Chibber has opened up about one of the film’s most talked-about scenes — a deeply intimate breast-pumping sequence that she says epitomised the spirit of motherhood.

Speaking to News18 Showsha, Ashima Chibber recalled her initial hesitation in approaching Rani about the scene. “Rani was brave — she agreed to do the breast-pumping scene, expressing the milk, putting it in a packet, and taking it over. I wasn’t sure if she’d be okay doing it. I thought maybe I shouldn’t even ask. But I asked her once. I said, ‘This is a part I feel is very important. It’s a subtext that shows how far the child is.’ She said, ‘Yes, we’re doing it. Just tell me what has to be done.’”

The director went on to praise Rani’s raw emotional delivery, saying, “She has epitomised motherhood. I mean, look at that — what is she doing on screen? She’s tearing through the screen and pulling on your hearts. I feel her performances have been brilliant, but this one hits you so hard in the heart, there’s no way you cannot be moved.”

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is inspired by the real-life ordeal of Sagarika Chakraborty and Anurup Bhattacharya, an Indian immigrant couple in Norway whose children were forcibly taken away by Norwegian child welfare authorities in 2011. The film delves into the emotional and legal battle of a mother determined to reunite with her children, shedding light on the cultural and bureaucratic clashes that defined the case.

Apart from Rani Mukerji’s commanding lead, the film features stellar performances by Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh in pivotal roles. The heart-wrenching narrative and its real-life resonance have made it a standout in recent Indian cinema, drawing both critical acclaim and audience tears.

With the National Award win, Rani Mukerji has further cemented her legacy as one of India’s finest actresses — an artist unafraid to take risks and immerse herself fully in roles that demand vulnerability and strength in equal measure. The breast-pumping scene, in particular, stands as a testament to her commitment to authenticity and storytelling that stays with viewers long after the credits roll.

For the second time in less than a month, Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada, has been targeted in a shooting, intensifying fears of gang-linked violence. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at the popular Kap’s Café, located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road, leaving the storefront riddled with bullet holes and the surrounding neighbourhood shaken.

Police arrived to find multiple damaged windows and shattered glass scattered across the pavement. Preliminary observations suggest at least six bullets pierced the café’s façade, matching the aggressive nature of the earlier attack. Authorities quickly sealed off a block around the location as emergency crews began their investigation.

Local residents described being abruptly woken by the sound of rapid gunfire, followed by a flurry of police sirens sweeping through the area. The disturbance occurred around 4:35 a.m., startling many who still vividly remembered the first incident at the same café in early July. That initial shooting had taken place just days after Kap’s Café opened its doors, with staff still inside the building at the time. Although no injuries were reported then, investigators discovered no fewer than 10 bullet holes in the glass panels and a completely shattered window.

Thursday’s shooting has drawn eerie parallels to the earlier incident, with both bearing the hallmarks of targeted intimidation. Fueling speculation, two notorious gangs — Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon’s group and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — have each claimed responsibility in separate social media posts. A purported video circulating online allegedly captures the sound of at least 25 gunshots, accompanied by a threatening message warning of more action, possibly in Mumbai, if their “calls” go unanswered.

Canadian law enforcement is collaborating with Indian security agencies, including the Mumbai Police, to investigate the cross-border implications of these threats. The possibility of the violence being tied to gang rivalry or extortion attempts has not been ruled out.

Despite the alarming incidents, Kap’s Café management has reiterated its commitment to staying open and fostering a safe space for its patrons. In a statement, the café reaffirmed its stance against intimidation, promising to remain a place of warmth and community.

With two brazen shootings in quick succession and gang threats extending beyond Canadian borders, the case has now become an international security concern. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as Surrey’s residents — and Kapil Sharma’s fans — await answers.

Actor-entrepreneur Ranbir Kapoor is making headlines once again—this time not for his blockbuster movies but for a bold investment move in the startup world. The Bollywood heartthrob has invested an undisclosed amount in Prozo, a tech-enabled, full-stack supply chain company, further expanding his business footprint.

The Gurugram-based startup announced the development revealing Kapoor's latest venture into India’s growing backend infrastructure ecosystem. Already known for his involvement in ventures such as ARKS and Mumbai City FC, Ranbir's investment in Prozo signals his growing interest in companies that fuel the backend engine of India's booming consumer brands.

Founded in 2016 by Dr. Ashvini Jakhar, a former Naval doctor and McKinsey consultant, Prozo has built an impressive footprint in the supply chain space. It serves a wide range of clients including B2B, D2C, and marketplace brands, offering warehousing, freight, and fulfilment solutions on a unified tech platform. Dr. Jakhar, the startup’s founder, shared his excitement, saying, “Ranbir brings creative depth and strategic thinking. His belief in reliable operations mirrors our ethos, and we’re excited to build with his support.”

Ranbir Kapoor, too, elaborated on why Prozo stood out to him as an investor, and shared, “Every brand today needs speed, consistency and adaptability...Prozo’s systems give brands that edge. I’ve seen how great execution builds trust—and Prozo is enabling that behind the scenes.”

This investment comes at a time when Prozo is looking to expand its warehousing network into new cities and offer tailored services to quick commerce brands and MSMEs across India. Interestingly, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma also invested in Prozo back in June this year, joining the growing list of public figures tapping into the startup’s promising potential.

Meanwhile, on the entertainment front, Ranbir Kapoor is fully booked with high-profile projects. He’s currently busy filming Love & War, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, slated for release in the first half of 2026, alongside the much-awaited two-part epic Ramayana, with the first instalment expected to hit theatres during Diwali 2026. Kapoor also has Animal Park, the sequel to Animal, lined up with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, although active production on that project is reportedly on pause for now.

With this latest entrepreneurial step, Ranbir Kapoor continues to balance his stardom with sharp business acumen, proving yet again that he’s much more than just a leading man on screen.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has finally released the glimpse of the massively awaited Hrithik vs Jr NTR dance off, ‘Janaabe Aali’! It is going to be an EPIC WAR on the dance floor as two of India’s best actors and dancers, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, take on each other in this battle of swag. The track is composed by Pritam Chakraborty, sung by Sachet Tandon and Saab Bhattacharya, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Catch the electrifying tease of ‘Janaabe Aali’ here

Blockbuster producer Aditya Chopra, who is known for disruptive thinking when it comes to mounting tentpoles of India for over 30 years now, is bringing back his ‘Kajra Re’ (Bunty Aur Babli; 2005) and Dhoom 3’s (2013) ‘Kamli’ music strategy for War 2’s ‘Janaabe Aali’. He has decided not to release the full song online to preserve the magic of experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime moment of seeing Hrithik and Jr NTR dancing with and against each other, ONLY for the big screen.

YRF wants to bring people into theatres to watch War 2 and experience the magic of seeing Hrithik and Jr NTR dancing together on the big screen, just as it is supposed to be consumed. Aditya Chopra had earlier preserved the best song of Bunty Aur Babli, ‘Kajre Re’, pre-release and people were blown away seeing it in theatres. He had also kept all the songs of Dhoom 3 away from online release and audiences went crazy to watch them in theatres. ‘Kamli’ exploded and went on to become a global chartbuster.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe’s War 2 also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. The film is set to release on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. This will be the second exciting YRF film of the season after the romantic saga Saiyaara became the surprise blockbuster of the year.

In a major update for fans eagerly awaiting one of the biggest action spectacles of the year, Yash Raj Films’ WAR 2 has officially received its certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India. The highly anticipated action thriller has been awarded a UA16+ certificate, indicating that viewers under the age of 16 are advised to watch the film under parental guidance due to intense action sequences and thematic content.

Starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr., and directed by Ayan Mukerji, WAR 2 is a continuation of the adrenaline-fueled spy universe that YRF has been steadily building with films like Pathaan, Tiger 3, and the original War.

The film has an officially certified runtime of 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 24 seconds, making it one of the lengthier entries in the YRF Spy Universe. This extended runtime suggests a packed narrative likely filled with high-stakes action, globetrotting set pieces, and the much-awaited face-off between Hrithik and NTR Jr., both of whom play pivotal roles in this cinematic universe.

The UA16+ rating is notable — while UA (Unrestricted Public Exhibition with Parental Guidance) is common, the added age-specific guidance indicates that WAR 2 may push the boundaries of stylized action and intense themes more than its predecessors. With Ayan Mukerji at the helm — known for his visually rich and emotionally layered storytelling — WAR 2 promises a fresh directorial vision combined with blockbuster-scale entertainment.

The film is expected to be a tentpole release for YRF and a major box office draw, especially given the pan-India appeal of its cast. With Hrithik reprising his role as the suave superspy Kabir and NTR Jr. entering the franchise in a highly anticipated role, WAR 2 is poised to be a cinematic showdown of epic proportions.

Suneel Darshan is gearing up for the release of Andaaz 2, starring Aayush Kumar, Aakaisha and Natasha Fernandez. During an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama, he opened up about a shocking experience that took place twenty years ago, which now gives him second thoughts about holding the premiere for his film.

When asked if there would be a premiere for Andaaz 2, Suneel Darshan revealed, “I am really keen to have a premiere, but I remember the last time I had a premiere was for Barsaat (2005). I thought it was a beautiful film I had made and that everyone would like it. But the media-bashing spree that happened due to vested interests was unexpected. Also, I had a premiere of the film on Wednesday night instead of the usual norm of having it on Thursday night. Before the film was out, you have no idea what these vested interests had done to me and to the film.”

Barsaat starred Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. Though it was not a big hit, it had a good run in the cinemas thanks to the subject, casting and music. In several B and C centres, it ran for weeks. This writer clearly remembers an evening show in Paradise Cinema, Mumbai, on its fifth Sunday running sold out. Suneel Darshan agreed, “It did very well actually. But despite the damage done, it collected £500,000 in the UK. My next film, Dosti: Friends Forever (2005) made a million. Can you imagine if the bashing had not happened, how much would Barsaat have collected?”

Suneel sighed, “Sadly, that kind of cartel still exists. Hence, this film has been made not because of them but in spite of them and knowing fully well that there would be only a few like-minded and hopeful people who would support the film.”

When asked if he would like to visit cinema halls to check the audience reaction the day Andaaz 2 releases, Suneel Darshan said, “This time, I’ll have to do that as I have the responsibility of these newcomers. Otherwise, I don’t prefer going to the cinema halls. I prefer to sit in my office to monitor the reactions from the whole country. But this time, I want to see how people react in a city like Mumbai, from South Mumbai to Bhiwandi. It’s very strange that the tastes differ depending on the area.”

Suneel Darshan signed off by stating, “I am looking forward to the music of the film topping the charts. It’s been quite a journey to get the music going. I know that the music is phenomenal, as you hardly get to hear good music nowadays. Also, I don’t know the art of manipulation. I play it clean and I work in the name of art.  Thankfully, I could see how people are loving ‘Rabba Ishq Na Hove 2.0’ and ‘Itni Pyaari Si Hai Yeh Raat’. Now the response to ‘Hum Jaise Jee Rahe Hain’ is also very nice (smiles).”

Also Read: EXPLOSIVE: Suneel Darshan reveals Andaaz 2’s OTT rights are unsold: “I haven’t been approached by any platform. Corporates focus on star…NO respect for filmmakers; if OTT existed in the 80s, corporates WOULDN’T have acquired Ram Teri Ganga Maili as well”

In a surprising turn of events, the Rajinikanth-led Coolie has taken a massive lead over the Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. led War 2 in the advance bookings at the US box office. With 9 days to go for release, the 6th chapter of Spy Universe has sold tickets worth USD 205K (Hindi + Telugu) in North America, as compared to Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, which has clocked a phenomenal advance booking of USD 1.2 million.

One must note that the North American market is dominated by the Telugu audience, and yet, a Tamil film has taken a big lead in the booking. The scenario is uniform at every place where the pre-sales have opened, with Coolie taking a big lead over War 2, which includes Australia and New Zealand too.

This trend has come across as a surprise as War 2 is a much bigger film than Coolie on the budget front, as also it comes from an already established franchise. More centers are expected to open soon for both films, but the initial lead in this overseas battle is currently inclined towards Rajinikanth, as Coolie is leading the show by a huge margin. What comes across as a shocker is the fact that the Telugu dubbed version of Coolie (USD 200K) is leading over the Telugu version of War 2 (USD 155K) in the US.

While the sales of the Hindi version of War 2 (USD 50K) are negligible, trailing behind Pathaan, Dunki, Jawan, Tiger 3, and Animal, the Telugu version too is trailing behind films like Game Changer in the US. The next 9 days are crucial as War 2 needs to begin to gain momentum to leave a mark in the international markets.

A new twist to the plot — vastly different from what Aanand L Rai originally shot with Dhanush in their acclaimed film Raanjhanaa twelve years ago — has angered fans of the film, the director, and the actor alike.

The producers of Raanjhanaa, Eros International, have reportedly altered the ending of the film using artificial intelligence to create a new “happy” conclusion. While Aanand L Rai had already voiced his opposition to this AI-generated desecration, Dhanush has now joined the battle, publicly taking a stand against the modification.

Aanand Rai confirms that he and Dhanush are “brothers from different mothers,” and are currently exploring various legal avenues to counter what he describes as “a very dangerous precedent.”

“I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are actively looking at judicial remedies to restore and preserve our creative content from such extraneous interventions,” says Aanand.

Apart from Raanjhanaa, the filmmaker and actor have previously collaborated on Atrangi Re and are already planning a third project together. “But before we move forward, we are committed to tackling the current crisis,” Aanand Rai asserts.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has leased four upscale apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra West, specifically in the posh Pali Hill area, for a monthly rent of Rs 24.5 lakhs. Eros International Media Limited has officially responded to criticism regarding the re-release of its 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa—now featuring an AI-assisted alternate ending. The re-release, also launched in Tamil as Ambikapathy, has sparked a public backlash from the film’s director Aanand L. Rai and lead actor Dhanush, who expressed disapproval over what they view as a tampering of their original vision.

In an official statement, Eros clarified that the AI-altered version is legally compliant, creatively supervised, and specifically intended for Tamil-speaking audiences. The company emphasized that the original version of Raanjhanaa remains untouched and widely available across all platforms.

“It does not replace or alter the original Raanjhanaa, which remains widely accessible. This alternate edition follows a longstanding cinematic tradition of offering creative adaptations and anniversary re-releases,” the statement read. Ownership and Intellectual Property Rights The production house asserted its legal standing as the sole financier, producer, and rights holder of Raanjhanaa, affirming complete control over the film’s intellectual property, moral rights, and derivative content under Indian copyright law. The statement also addressed Dhanush’s recent remarks, implying that Aanand L. Rai had personally invested in securing his casting in the film.

“While such comments may reflect personal admiration, they are factually inaccurate and legally inconsequential. No private or independent financial investment by Mr. Rai exists within the production, financing, or IP structures of Raanjhanaa,” said Eros, adding that the company undertook full financial risk for the project and retains 100% ownership. Objection to ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Association With Raanjhanaa Eros has also taken issue with promotional material for Aanand L. Rai’s upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, which reportedly attempts to position itself as being part of the Raanjhanaa universe. The company called this an “illegal and misleading attempt” and stated that no legal rights, approvals, or IP ownership have been granted for such positioning.

A cease and desist notice, dated July 25, 2025, has been issued to all parties involved in the marketing and creative direction of Tere Ishk Mein. Eros has also notified leading OTT and streaming platforms to prevent any further misrepresentation. “This act represents a clear violation of Eros’s exclusive copyright and intellectual property,” the statement read.

Creative Direction of AI-Assisted Ending

Addressing criticisms over the use of AI in the alternate ending of Ambikapathy, Eros emphasized that the project was guided by a human creative team, with AI used only as an assistive tool, not as an autonomous content generator.

“Mr. Rai’s dissociation from the Tamil alternate version is his personal choice, but his claim to ownership or moral authority over the work is neither contractually supported nor legally enforceable,” Eros clarified. Clarification on Legal Proceedings Responding to accusations that the re-release is a diversionary tactic amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny, Eros stated that the NCLT proceedings involving Colour Yellow Productions pertain to corporate governance matters, not artistic rights.

“We categorically reject the suggestion that this creative initiative is a ‘strategic distraction’ from unrelated regulatory matters... Conversely, we urge the public and industry stakeholders to see through the coordinated and deliberately timed campaign of misinformation,” the company said.

Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has taken to social media to shower praise on Dhadak 2, calling it the most impactful mainstream debut he has witnessed in a long time. The romantic drama, directed by Shazia Iqbal and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, released in theatres on August 1, 2025.

Kashyap’s unfiltered and emotional review has created a buzz in Bollywood circles and cinephile communities alike. In his Instagram post, the Gangs of Wasseypur director wrote, “In what is the most searing mainstream debut that I have seen in a very very long time @shaz.3.0 holds a mirror to us of what India really is outside of our bubble that we live in. Aided by terrific performances from @tripti_dimri @siddhantchaturvedi @saurabhsachdeva77 @saadcasm_ @priyanktiwarii @itsharishkhanna @manjiripupala @vipin.sta and writing with #badwelkar, brilliantly shot by @sylvesterfonseca. The film captures the conversation that we avoid on a day-to-day basis.”

He continued by placing the film in the legacy of great Indian cinema and shared, “This is what mainstream cinema was meant to be, and this is what great filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, Guru Dutt, K. A. Abbas, B. R. Chopra, Yash Chopra and so many used to do. We forgot to make mainstream films of social relevance. They got relegated to independent art house cinema. This is what Tamizh cinema and so much of cinema from South still does.”

Produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, the film is a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018) and a mainstream adaptation of Mari Selvaraj’s critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal.

Calling it a bold and uncompromising film, Kashyap added, “A mainstream adaptation of Periyarum Perumal, without losing the essence of it, Dhadak 2 is a punch in the gut. My driver and old friend of 16 years Narayan ji who went with me wept at the end of it and hasn't stopped talking about it since. An extremely brave and powerful film from @dharmamovies. See it for yourself. I won't say much. Congratulations to the whole team. @prashant316 @animeshpanwar @sanyukta_mohta and others that I don't know. Well done team. @somenmishra @karanjohar.” Producer Karan Johar responded by dropping heart emojis on the post, acknowledging the heartfelt appreciation.

In a shocking turn of events, the re-release of the 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa has sparked widespread outrage after the film’s climax was altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) — without the consent of lead actor Dhanush or director Aanand L Rai. The AI-generated ending, introduced by Eros International, has ignited a heated debate on the ethics of AI in cinema, with Dhanush himself expressing “deep disappointment” and calling the decision a “threat to the integrity of storytelling.”

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dhanush didn’t mince words in his statement, “The re-release of Raanjhanaa with an AI-altered climax has completely disturbed me. This alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul… This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago.” He also called for stricter regulations to prevent similar alterations in the future. “The use of Al to alter films or content is a deeply concerning precedent for both art and artists. It threatens the integrity of storytelling and the legacy of cinema. I sincerely hope that stricter regulations are put in place to prevent such practices in the future”, he added.

For the love of cinema ???? pic.twitter.com/VfwxMAdfoM — Dhanush (@dhanushkraja) August 3, 2025

The original ending of Raanjhanaa was hailed for its heartbreaking realism — Kundan (Dhanush), bloodied and dying, lies unresponsive as Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) cradles his lifeless face. The moment was a raw portrayal of sacrifice and unfulfilled love, cementing the film’s cult status. In stark contrast, the new version shows Kundan surviving his injuries, waking up in the hospital to smiles and upbeat music. Fans were quick to slam the new ending, calling it “a betrayal,” “tone-deaf,” and “an insult to the original narrative.” It began trending as cinephiles shared clips, reactions, and nostalgic tributes to the original.

Adding to the backlash, director Aanand L Rai also voiced his disappointment, confirming he was not consulted and the filmmaker expressed his anger in a heartfelt note on social media. While Eros International released a statement defending their actions as an “experiment in cinematic innovation,” many believe the move sets a dangerous precedent — one where commercial interests override artistic authenticity.

As the controversy brews, one thing is clear: Raanjhanaa may have received a new ending, but the original story — and the emotions it evoked — still lives on in the hearts of its audience.

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently used social media to call out a fake Instagram account pretending to be her long-time cook, Dilip. She made it clear that the account is not run by her staff member and strongly warned the impersonator. Farah Khan’s popular celebrity cooking vlogs frequently showcase her cook Dilip, who has become an unexpected highlight and gained significant online fame.

On Sunday morning, Farah Khan used her Instagram Stories to expose a fake social media account pretending to be her cook, Dilip. She posted a screenshot of the profile, which had gained over 50,000 followers and falsely identified as a blogger, even including her name in the bio. Calling it a “FAKE account,” Farah stated, “This is a fake account!! N v r complaining...so @dilip.bihariO u better take it down!!"

When Farah Khan called out the impersonator’s profile, the account featured 244 posts, including multiple Reels—many of which had received over 100,000 views—mostly using reused clips from Farah and Dilip’s well-known vlogs. However, shortly after Farah issued her public warning, the account quickly altered its username and display picture, and either deleted or archived all its content. It is now listed as A1 Blogger and displays zero posts.

Interestingly, while the impersonated account had gained significant attention, a few other fake Instagram profiles also claim to be Dilip. However, these have minimal visibility, with most failing to reach even 100 followers.

In a recent vlog featuring Ajay Devgn, filmmaker Farah Khan shared a humorous story about how she first met her now-famous cook, Dilip. “You know how I found him? Oh my God! I have to tell you this story," she said to Ajay during their conversation. “He was outside your house. How could I forget this? Yeh aapke bungalow ke bahar ghoom raha tha (He was loitering around your bungalow). This was about 12–13 years ago," she added with a laugh.

Farah Khan launched her cooking vlogs featuring her trusted cook Dilip in 2024, and the series has quickly become a hit on social media. With her signature humour and natural rapport with Dilip, Farah adds a delightful charm to every episode. The duo has visited the homes of several celebrities, including Raveena Tandon, Sania Mirza, Malaika Arora, and Himesh Reshammiya, where they prepare easy, comforting dishes while sharing playful banter and engaging in relaxed, candid conversations.

Tara Sutaria may be a familiar face on screen, but when it comes to her daily routine, she insists nothing has changed since before she became famous. In a candid moment during her appearance on The Ranveer Show, the actress spoke about how she continues to hold on to her old habits, favourite hangouts, and simple pleasures—no matter how many headlines she makes.

“You know, I do the same sh** that I used to do before. Can I say that? Yeah, I do the same stuff that I used to do before. I haven't changed anything in my routine,” she said. “I still go to Soul Fry for karaoke night every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, when I'm not filming.”

Tara's go-to food spots haven’t changed either. “I still like to have my Gajalee Bombay fry. I still… and I do it all the time. It’s not like once in a blue moon. I still go to Goodluck for keema pao. Like, yeah, wow, that’s just… you can’t change that. If you change that, you’re not being true to yourself.”

When asked to clarify if she meant the iconic Goodluck Café in Pune, Tara replied, “Goodluck, here is in Mumbai. How have you not been there? It's opposite Mehboob Studio. Guys, go and have the kheema fry—not the regular kheema fry—with pao and put a double cheese omelet on top of it.”

Speaking of the professional front, Tara was last seen in Apurva. The film was directly released on OTT in 2023. While fans are awaiting her return to the big screen, she was recently seen in AP Dhillon’s music video, ‘Thodi Si Daru.’

This National Award win is not just a feather in the cap of its makers but a rallying cry for every filmmaker striving to tell stories that matter.
