Neil Nitin Mukesh made his film debut in 2007 with Sriram Raghavan’s Johnny Gaddaar and later gained recognition in Kabir Khan’s New York. However, he has often voiced frustration over the lack of opportunities, noting in a recent interview that while some actors continue to get roles despite multiple flops, he was told his career was over after just a few box office setbacks.

In a conversation on Varinder Chawla’s YouTube channel, Neil Nitin Mukesh reflected on how the industry often judges actors solely on box office numbers, overlooking the appreciation their performances receive. He noted that even when an actor plays a key role in a star-led big-budget film, the film’s success rarely translates into recognition for them.

Citing his most commercially successful project, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Neil said, “Unfortunately, if you are a part of a big film and you are playing a significant part of that film… consider me a part of that success as well. But you will give the credit to someone else. If this film had flopped then it would be a fall for everyone involved. That’s unfair.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh reflected on the collaborative nature of filmmaking, using New York, one of his early successes, as an example. The film, which also starred John Abraham and Katrina Kaif, was not just about the leads, he emphasized. “Like New York, it’s not just John or mine or Katrina’s film. It just doesn’t belong to Kabir Khan, it’s a collaborative effort. Everyone has put in hard work. All the actors, Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui; it belongs to everyone. The producers, their conviction in us, it’s a hit for everyone but if it’s a flop, or it doesn’t reach the numbers, the blame comes straight to the actors,” he said.

Neil Nitin Mukesh pointed out the disparity in how the industry treats actors after a film underperforms. He observed that while some stars continue to receive big-budget projects despite repeated failures, others are quickly written off. “I have seen a lot of big actors giving flops but they keep getting opportunities. But for us, if there are two flops in a row, they say you be at home now. This is the only unfair bit. Didn’t he just give 10 flops? You have given him his 11th Rs 100 crore film to make a comeback but here, two films falter and you say ‘career over’. What do you mean career is over? Even if the films didn’t do well, and you were praised for your work, people are ready to write you off almost instantly and they get pleasure out of this,” he said.

Neil Nitin Mukesh, grandson of legendary singer Mukesh and son of Nitin Mukesh, was last seen in the JioHotstar’s series Hai Junoon. He is now gearing up for the release of a comic caper thriller set to hit screens in September.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again sent the internet into a frenzy - this time with his strikingly lean and fit new look. A recent photo shared by his Race 3 co-star Saajan Singh has taken social media by storm, marking one of the rare glimpses fans have had of Khan since the release of Sikandar during Eid earlier this year.

In the now-viral photo, Salman Khan is seen happily posing at his residence with Saajan Singh and the latter’s family. The picture not only sparked admiration for Khan’s toned-down and fitter appearance but also reignited curiosity about the actor’s next big move. Sharing the heartfelt moment on Instagram, Saajan Singh wrote, “Thank you Sir for opening your arms, home and heart to us. Blessed & grateful @beingsalmankhan”. The warm caption has only added to the admiration pouring in for the actor—not just for his physique but for his generosity and humility off-screen.

While Khan has remained tight-lipped about his upcoming projects, speculation is rife that his transformation may be linked to an upcoming film with director Apoorva Lakhia. Although there has been no official announcement from either the actor or the filmmaker, industry insiders suggest that the project could be based on real-life events and would require Khan to portray a decorated Indian Army officer.

We at Bollywood Hungama have exclusively reported on this development earlier wherein a source close to the project had said, “Given the high-altitude challenges of shooting in Leh and the physical demands of portraying a decorated Army officer like Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, Salman has committed to an intense training regimen. He’s not just preparing to carry the weight of the uniform - he’s carrying the weight of the story. The AK-47 he’ll be seen with is symbolic, but the real test is enduring the thinner air, long shoots, and rugged terrain. This prep isn’t just physical; it’s about doing justice to a national hero.”

The actor’s fans have taken to social media to express excitement and curiosity about this rumored project, especially with his visible transformation fuelling the buzz.

Karan Johar is known for his candour, and in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker once again shared some hard-hitting insights - this time on the current state of storytelling in the Hindi film industry. From genre fatigue to the obsession with cinematic universes, Johar didn’t hold back in expressing his views on why originality should be celebrated, not sidelined.

“I think it's everybody grappling to do what others are doing. I think herd mentality. So, we see Pushpa running and catering so strongly to the tier two and tier three audiences. Suddenly there'll be 20 others wanting to do the same. You see Chhaava working, and everybody will want to make historical dramas! After Stree, everybody wants to make horror comedies. Those worked because they were individually strong, and there was no other option in that genre. And it was a unique thought that made those films work. We all have individual thoughts that are unique to ourselves,” Karan told Bollywood Hungama.

Known for producing a wide range of stories across genres, Johar emphasized that he is not chasing the trend of building a cinematic universe. For him, storytelling is the true universe. KJo shared, “When somebody asked me the other day, you have a universe, I said, as in, so he said, like, you know, like, like, my universe is a comedy genre universe. I said, my universe is cinema itself. My universe is stories. I'm not here to build universes. I'm here to tell stories”.

He went on to continue, “And if there is in that story a universe, then why not? More power (to them)! I love that there is a horror comedy universe that Maddock has so brilliantly created and cultivated. It's fantastic. What Dinesh Vijan has done is outstanding. I have so much regard for Aditya Chopra - as I said, he's my mentor. The Spy universe is fantastic, but if I start emulating them, how am I going to stand out?”

Johar concluded his passionate take with a powerful reminder that originality is key to lasting success. “So my way of doing it is like really telling individual stories. And in that journey, if there is a universe that comes along, then why not? But I think what we are combating, to go back to your question, is herd mentality, and also grappling with what others are doing and trying to achieve the same success, right? Success, success cannot be emulated. You know, it cannot. You can't force a you cannot. You can't, no, you can't emulate success. You can create it with your own individuality, and that's what we should yearn,” he concluded.

Congratulations, you’re a father now? It’s a very unique experience. I’ve just stepped into my paternity break. I’ll be traveling much less, at least until July. I’m not actively participating in any specific project at the moment.

So, a complete paternity leave? Yes, though I’ll be overseeing a few things — some scripts and ongoing writing work for projects that will begin from August. I’ll be supervising the development of those, including film and series projects. But I won’t be shooting until the baby settles in. Both my wife and I are incredibly excited. It’s a delightful phase of our lives, and we want to fully enjoy it together.

You’ve certainly earned the break. You’ve been prolific, working across multiple film industries. Although I work in various industries, I still primarily belong to the Bengali industry. My time is still more tilted toward Bengali cinema, even though I occasionally work in Hindi films.

How do you decide how to divide your time between Bengali and Hindi cinema? It really depends on the kind of work I’m offered in Hindi. In the Bengali industry, it goes without saying — no one plays the volume game because we work with much smaller budgets. In a way, you make up for that by doing a little more work. I know that’s a simplistic way to explain being prolific. But I’d also say I’m a bit of a workaholic and run on high octane when it comes to multitasking. Over time, I’ve learned to devote equal time, energy, and—most importantly—attention to everything I do.

At this point in your career, what kind of work excites you the most? I’ve been acting for 25 years and still thoroughly enjoy it. If I go more than two or three months without acting, it feels like a big part of me is missing.

What do you enjoy more — acting or directing? If you really ask me, I truly enjoy directing and creating. An actor is, of course, a creator too. But actors are often subservient to the director’s vision or what the story demands. As a director or creator, the holistic idea lives in your head. That’s what excites me the most. It’s what I’ve studied and worked toward all these years. I’ve learned a lot on the job as an actor, but when I wear the director’s hat, there’s a certain confidence and passion that flows through my veins.

The shadows are getting darker, and the stakes higher—Special Ops 2 is officially on its way, and the teaser has already sent fans into a frenzy. JioHotstar dropped the much-anticipated glimpse into the next chapter of Neeraj Pandey’s espionage thriller, and as expected, Kay Kay Menon’s Himmat Singh is back, looking as sharp and unshakeable as ever.

The teaser is packed with adrenaline: familiar faces, cryptic clues, and setups that hint at an explosive narrative. But amid the fast cuts and intense action, there’s one unexpected twist no one saw coming—or rather, someone we barely saw at all.

Where Is Tahir Raj Bhasin? Fans were quick to spot the noticeable absence of Tahir Raj Bhasin from the main teaser. Except for a blink-and-miss appearance in the end credits, there’s no sight of him in squad briefings, covert ops, or even those telling glances Himmat usually exchanges with his most trusted operatives. And this doesn’t feel like an editing oversight—it feels like a calculated mystery. Could Tahir’s character be off the grid? Or is he working a separate angle—possibly even against the very team fans have grown to root for?

Now, with his near-invisible presence in the new teaser, speculation is rife: Is he the wild card? The ghost in the machine? Or maybe, the reason this mission is more personal than ever? What adds to the intrigue is that while Kay Kay Menon anchors the chaos with his stoic calm, the trailer feels less like a reunion and more like a reset. Could Tahir be central to this shift? Dancer, choreographer, and digital content creator Sandip Brahamin has publicly accused Housefull 5 choreographer Remo D’Souza of copying one of his signature dance moves for the film’s song ‘Laal Pari’, without giving him credit. The allegation was made through an Instagram video that Sandip shared recently, reigniting the debate around creative plagiarism in the entertainment industry.

About a month ago, after the song was unveiled, Sandip called out the choreographer for copying his original steps without attribution. In the video, he specifically addressed the resemblance of moves in ‘Laal Pari’ to a sequence from one of his older dance clips. He said in the video, “You all have seen my signature moves. My move has been copied in Housefull 5 song Laal Pari. Many of my friends DMed me on Instagram. Therefore, I rechecked on Instagram and YouTube. They’ve neither mentioned me nor have they given me credit. I don’t know what is happening.”

The video also included side-by-side comparisons showing lead actors Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh performing the contested step, followed by footage of Sandip performing what he claims to be the original choreography. The similarity between the moves has led many online viewers to question if the creative team behind the film should have acknowledged Sandip’s work.

Meanwhile, Housefull 5 has been creating waves at the box office. Released on June 6, it is the fifth film in the successful Housefull franchise. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan, the 2025 Hindi-language comedy thriller features a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, and more. Notably, the film was released in two versions—Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B—each with a different climax.

While Remo D’Souza has not yet responded to the allegations, the controversy adds to the buzz surrounding Laal Pari, which has been trending since the film’s release. Whether or not the production team will address the matter remains to be seen, but Sandip Brahamin’s post has sparked discussions around the importance of acknowledging content creators in mainstream media.

In a tragic loss for Indian cinema, veteran filmmaker Partho Ghosh passed away following a heart attack. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by actress Rituparna Sengupta, who expressed her grief. Ghosh was best known for his powerful storytelling and critically acclaimed films that defined the cinematic landscape of the 1990s.

“Heartbroken beyond words. We have lost an exceptional talent, a visionary director, and a kind soul. Partho da, you will always be remembered for the magic you created on screen. Rest in peace,” wrote Rituparna Sengupta, mourning the director's passing.

The director of classics such as Agni Sakshi (1996), Ghulam-E-Musthafa (1997), Teesra Kaun? (1994), and Yugpurush (1998), Partho Ghosh carved a niche for himself with films that blended social realism with mainstream appeal. His work tackled complex themes with emotional depth, making him one of the most respected voices of his time.

Ghosh’s Agni Sakshi, starring Manisha Koirala, Nana Patekar, and Jackie Shroff, became a landmark film on domestic violence and was both a critical and commercial success. His next, Ghulam-E-Musthafa, featuring Nana Patekar and Raveena Tandon, portrayed the emotional journey of a gangster and went on to become a cult classic. The filmmaker’s nuanced direction and ability to evoke powerful performances made him a trusted name among top actors and producers during the golden era of 90s Bollywood.

Family, friends, and media personnel will reportedly bid farewell to the veteran filmmaker in Madh Island, Mumbai, later on Monday.

As condolences pour in from across the film fraternity and his fans, Partho Ghosh’s contribution to Indian cinema remains timeless. His legacy will continue through the stories he told, which still strike a chord with movie lovers.

The Hera Pheri franchise has found itself in the middle of fresh controversy after veteran actor Paresh Rawal reportedly exited the upcoming installment mid-way through filming. His sudden departure has not only created ripples within the production team but has also triggered legal consequences, with Akshay Kumar’s production house said to be considering legal action against Rawal for breach of commitment.

Paresh Rawal, who played the iconic character of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the beloved comedy series, is widely considered the soul of Hera Pheri. His exit has left fans disappointed and heartbroken — many of whom have taken to social media to plead with the actor to return to the project. One such fan recently addressed Rawal on X (formerly Twitter), urging him to rethink his decision. “Sir please think ???? Once again to join HERA FERI movie ?? You are the hero of this movie,” the fan wrote in an emotional plea.

Rawal’s response, though brief, hinted at deeper issues behind the scenes. Quoting the fan’s post, he replied, “NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri.” His words have since gone viral, sparking intense debate about creative differences, possible ego clashes, and contractual disputes within the Hera Pheri team.

NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri . ????❤️ https://t.co/k7naUD5jiC — Paresh Rawal (@SirPareshRawal) June 9, 2025

While neither Paresh Rawal nor Akshay Kumar has officially commented in detail on the reasons behind the fallout, insiders suggest that creative disagreements and miscommunication may have led to the actor walking out. The legal team associated with Akshay Kumar’s production house is reportedly preparing to serve notices related to breach of agreement, adding a legal layer to the unfolding drama.

As fans continue to rally behind the original cast and voice their disappointment online, the future of the third Hera Pheri film remains uncertain. Whether Paresh Rawal’s decision is final or reversible still hangs in the balance — but one thing is clear: Hera Pheri without Baburao may not be the comedy reunion fans were hoping for.

Amid the ongoing controversy around his recent remark on Tamil’s linguistic supremacy over Kannada, veteran actor Kamal Haasan has now stirred another significant conversation — this time addressing the long-debated issue of Hindi imposition in Southern states. Speaking to PTI, the actor-politician weighed in on the importance of linguistic freedom and inclusivity, especially in educational and employment contexts.

Haasan’s statement comes at a time when his upcoming film Thug Life has reportedly been barred from releasing in Kannada following his earlier remarks. However, the actor did not hold back in addressing broader national concerns around language politics and imposition. “Without imposition, we will learn. Don't impose, because this is ultimately education and we must take the shortest route to education… and not put hurdles in its way,” said Haasan, stressing that learning languages should be organic and never forced. He further expressed solidarity with other states that have historically resisted Hindi imposition. “I stand with Punjab. I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra. This is not only place which is resenting imposition,” he shared.

Drawing attention to the practicality of English in modern India, Kamal Haasan highlighted how the country’s historical engagement with the language has helped establish it as a neutral medium of communication and education. “And English seems to be fair enough. You can do Spanish also, or Chinese. But I think the most practical thing where the shortest route to that is that we have 350 years of English education, slowly but steadily. So when you suddenly replace it, it's all over again. You make unnecessarily many people illiterate, especially in Tamil Nadu,” he stated.

He went on to add, “You suddenly force all through Hindi and you tell them that you will not get your job beyond the Vindhyas, then you start wondering, what about the promises? What about my language? Am I not one of the 22 (official languages)? These are the questions that are coming.”

The Indian 2 actor’s comments have added fresh fuel to the ongoing national debate around language politics, even as Thug Life finds itself entangled in regional tensions. Whether his statement helps build bridges or adds to the friction remains to be seen, but Kamal Haasan has made his stance clear — one that calls for linguistic respect, choice, and practicality over force.

Why was the making of The Legend of Bhagat Singh so important to you? I’ll be very honest with you. When I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember asking my father (the late filmmaker P.L. Santoshi) about Bhagat Singh. That evening, as night fell in Lonavala, my father told me everything he knew about Bhagat Singh’s life. That conversation stayed with me. While working with Govindji (Govind Nihalani), I picked up the habit of reading. In every city I visited, I made sure to buy books. That’s how I familiarized myself with Bhagat Singh’s life. During my early films like Andaz Apna Apna, Ghayal, and Damini, I read A.G. Noorani’s The Trial of Bhagat Singh. Later, while making Pukar, I read books by K.K. Khullar and Kuldip Nayar. I decided I had to make my film on Bhagat Singh after Lajja. I announced the project in 1999 and signed A.R. Rahman for the music and Santosh Sivan for cinematography. Eventually, Santosh couldn’t do the film. I met my screenwriter Anjum Rajabali through Aamir Khan. We had collaborated on China Gate and Pukar. He wrote the script for Bhagat Singh.

How many years of research went into the film? Two-and-a-half years of hard research. When I decided to make the film, I hit a major stumbling block — no one seemed to know much about Bhagat Singh. It was shocking and saddening that such a significant figure was virtually unknown in our times. Even my screenwriter only knew that Bhagat Singh had hurled a bomb in the assembly. But as we pieced together his life, we became increasingly fascinated.

There was a sudden surge of cinematic interest in Bhagat Singh in 2002. Yes, I’ve heard others say it started after the success of Lagaan and Gadar. When those two period films worked, suddenly everyone wanted to make a film on Bhagat Singh. Many saw him as an "Angry Young Man" figure. But most of those filmmakers had no understanding of Bhagat Singh’s ideology or what he truly stood for.

Why Ajay Devgn as Bhagat Singh? Initially, I wanted a newcomer for the role. We launched a massive hunt. Every character in the film had to be culturally accurate. Rajguru was played by a Maharashtrian actor, D. Santosh. Chandrashekhar Azad, played by Akhilendra Mishra, was from UP. We even matched the original physiques, faces, body language, and speech patterns. For Bhagat Singh, we just couldn’t find anyone who could convincingly portray the transformation from a fiery youth to a mature revolutionary ready to sacrifice his life. Ajay Devgn was the closest to my vision of Bhagat Singh.

Was it the eyes? Yes, that brooding intensity. Once we finalized him, Ajay immediately immersed himself in the project. He worked hard to inhabit Bhagat Singh’s mind and body.

And Bobby Deol wouldn’t have achieved that? Sunny Deol approached me with the idea of making Bhagat Singh and suggested his brother Bobby for the role. I think very highly of Bobby — I directed his debut Barsaat — but I didn’t see in him the same brooding intensity I needed. I was looking for the Zanjeer-era Amitabh Bachchan — someone who could smoulder in silence. Bobby was a bit too flamboyant for what I had in mind. That doesn’t mean he’s less capable. Maybe another director would have visualized Bobby as Bhagat Singh and done full justice to him. He’s a sincere and competent actor.

Did you and Sunny Deol fall out over the casting? When Sunny suggested we merge our two Bhagat Singh projects, I told him that if his research matched mine, I’d gladly hand over everything and step aside. But when he insisted on Bobby, I demurred. As a director, I stood by Ajay. There was nothing personal. Sunny has helped me immensely — especially during Ghayal. He stood by me even when Dharamji was unsure about the film. I’ll always be there for Sunny, no matter what. Even now, if he calls me in the middle of the night, I’ll go to him. There are people poisoning his mind against me. But I still consider myself his friend. Maybe our friendship is cursed — kisi ki nazar lag gayi hai. I spent so many hours on his sets, not caring if people called me his chamcha.

I thought Lajja deserved a lot more. You’d have to tell me why it didn’t get its due. I don’t analyze my past films. But you’ll find the same sincerity in Bhagat Singh. Someone asked me what the Unique Selling Point (USP) was, and I said, “There’s nothing mercantile about it.” It’s an emotional treatise on a personality I deeply admire. I wanted my child to grow up and show his children the true portrait of Bhagat Singh.

How satisfied were you with the final film? Very satisfied. People say I made it very quickly, but that was by design. We never cut corners to meet a deadline. It took 138 days to complete the film. My other films took longer. But this one taught me so much. My producer and I knew other directors were also making films on Bhagat Singh, and they moved ahead confidently thinking I wouldn’t finish mine on time. They miscalculated. Bhagat Singh has long been neglected. If cinema can bring him back into public consciousness, then I’ve done my part.

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat completed six years today. The film starred Salman Khan in the lead and it told the story of a man and a nation together, both named Bharat. Ali looked back at the film in an interview with us.

How do you look back on the Bharat experience? Bharat had been one of the most challenging films of my career, a journey of a man and nation together, to tell a story of evolution of the nation through the main character’s eyes. Bharat was the most fascinating aspect of Bharat.

Salman Khan went through the ageing process of his character? According to me, it’s one of most powerful performances of Salman Khan, also Katrina Kaif and Kumud Mishra were outstanding. Tabu in a special role made the film an emotional rollercoaster. Sunil Grover as Vilayati was also very strong in the film.

Bharat remains a flawed but fascinating film A film is an emotion. If after six years, people still talk about the film, it means it made a mark with audiences and is still relevant.

Bharat was an adaptation of a Korean film We adapted it from Korean film. The basic plot was same but we had to adapt it to Indian culture and society. Salman loved the Korean Ode To My Father. Atul bhai (Atul Agnihotri) got this film to Salman Sir. Salman sir one day called me and said you should watch the film and let’s make it. That’s how journey of Bharat began.

If you remade Bharat now what would you change? I would like to finish the film where Bharat meets his sister (Tabu in the film) and give a closure with his father in climax straight after the Tabu scene.

Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh and director R S Prasanna attended an interesting panel during the Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2025 and promoted their much-awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par.

Aamir Khan revealed that there was a point when he decided to walk out of the film. He said, “I told Prasanna that I was depressed and hence, I needed a break. Prasanna got a heart attack (laughs) on hearing that. He was very understanding. He said, ‘I understand what you are going through and emotionally, you don’t feel like doing the film. But I request you to produce the film’. I agreed.”

He added, “At that time, we had decided to make two versions – one in Hindi with Farhan Akhtar while Sivakarthikeyan was going to do the Tamil version. They loved the script and the dates were even worked out.”

Aamir continued, “Before going to prep, I always sit with the writer and director for a week or two to go through the script in detail. On the first day of reading the script, within half an hour, I was like ‘Why am I not doing this film’. For 7 days, I got that feeling 10 times a day. Then on the seventh day, mere se raha nahin gaya. I told writer Divya and Prasanna that I loved the script. I also said, ‘Now it’s too late. Casting ho chuki hai’. The bullet has been fired from the gun. Prasanna told me, ‘I am from Chennai. We take the bullet which has been fired and put it back in the gun’!”

Aamir Khan stated, “He told me, ‘You are my original choice and as a director, I have been with you for 4 years. Now, when you are feeling like doing it, I can’t let you down’.”

Aamir then revealed, “Badi himmat karke, I spoke to Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan and apologized to them. I honestly told them what had happened. They were disappointed but they understood my point. Farhan said, ‘You have lived with the script for so long’.”

Actor Avika Gor, best known for her breakout role in Balika Vadhu, recently opened up about her career trajectory and the evolving expectations from her at the Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2025. During a panel discussion, she addressed whether actors today have ample opportunities or face limited options.

“I have been very, very lucky,” Avika said. “My career started with Balika Vadhu. The audience put me in a place where I could grow into the actor I am today. Every project since then — even films like 1920, which I hadn’t expected — added to that journey.”

Avika emphasized that she feels deeply grateful for her career, which she’s built without any formal training or film industry background. “When I see myself doing characters that really satisfy me, and also I get the validation from the audience that I can actually do a good job without any training, without any background, without any support of our father. It just makes me feel very proud and lucky at the same time. Of course, I also go through that because, again, my image of handling films that are people who need it will never go off.”

She also touched on the expectations that now come with her roles. “And because of that, it becomes a big responsibility to make sure that the film that you are a part of become success. And, you know, in that kind of a process, I really believe that my audiences have been very comfortable. They really adore and love the idea of watching me on screen, be it OTT or television. So yes, I have been lucky, and I'm aware of that. I did not take that for granted.”

Reflecting on the pressures of her public image, Avika admitted it can be challenging. “The image I carry, of doing films that matter, never goes away. That adds responsibility to make each project a success.”

With a grounded sense of purpose and a loyal fan base, Avika continues to embrace meaningful roles — proving that talent, when met with hard work and humility, can carve a lasting legacy.

If all goes well, Aamir Khan is all set to create history with Sitaare Zameen Par. As per reports, its digital rights won’t be sold to any streaming platform. Instead, Aamir will release the sports drama on YouTube. Viewers will have to pay Rs. 99 to access the film. The news spread like wild fire. But at the same time, it also got misconstrued. Some social media pages speculated that Sitaare Zameen Par will be released directly on YouTube and not in cinemas.

During a group interaction with journalists, this writer asked Aamir Khan about it. He began by saying, “There’s a confusion and I want to clarify. This film is being released only in theatres. A lot of theories are going around. I have read them too (laughs). It’s not true. It will come only and only in cinemas.”

He added, “Post-release, what will happen, I have absolutely no idea. I am being 100% honest with you. There have been a lot of offers and proposals and I have said ‘no’ to everyone. There’s one simple reason why I have said ‘no’ to everyone. This is because I am a believer of cinema. Whatever I am today is because of cinema. I am sitting here in this position because people saw my film in theatres. Hence, I am a loyalist. Ho sakta hai ki main bewakoof hoon. Maybe I am committing a himakat. By not selling the OTT rights, maybe I am committing a huge mistake and it can lead to a huge financial loss. Woh apan dekhenge baad mein (smiles).”

Aamir Khan continued, “At this point, I want to do only one thing, and that is, reviving theatre business which is going down with each passing film. I believe in cinemas and I trust my audience. In today’s times, not a single producer would begin a film unless he sells the OTT rights. Correct me if I am wrong. Jab tak OTT ka sale hota nahin, woh film greenlit nahin hoti. I am the only producer who has declined to sell OTT rights. I am releasing the film only in cinemas as I want to make the theatrical sector strong.”

He further stated, “My films come once in 2-3 years and often, its ill-timed (laughs). I’ll give you an example. Nowadays, action films work a lot. A lot of people asked me to do an action film. If I wanted, I could have done an action film. But I wanted to do just this film kyunki yeh kahaani mere khoon ke andar ghus gayi thi. Hence, even I get tensed because sab action dekhna chaha rahe hai aur pata nahin meri kaunsi film aa rahi hai! Would people be interested?”

During the Taare Zameen Par fan meetup on June 2, Aamir Khan gave one more example saying, “I made a film called Ghajini (2008). You guys must have thought that since it was a mainstream film, it was expected to be a success. But that was not the case. Uss time pe action films nahin chal rahi thi. I was told, ‘The era of action film is over 2-3 years ago. Aur tumhari action film ab aa rahi hai’!”

Sitaare Zameen Par releases in cinemas on June 20.

Superstar Aamir Khan is all set to release Sitaare Zameen Par on June 20. Usually, the actor has just one or no other project in hand before his immediate release. He decides his next only after his current release is out of the system. But this time, Aamir has made an exception. Last month, it came to light that he’ll play the role of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema and that it would be directed by blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. There have also been reports of him working with popular South director Lokesh Kanagaraj and also in talks for the sequel to PK (2014).

During a group interaction with journalists, Aamir Khan talked about his slate. He began by saying, “PK 2 is a rumour. I don’t know anything about it.” He added, “Dadasaheb Phalke film is definitely being made. Raju and I are working on it.”

When asked about a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, he replied, “Lokesh and I are working on a film. It belongs to the superhero genre. It’s a big-scale action film and will go on floors in the second half of 2026.”

When asked more about it, he replied, “I can’t say more than this. Yeh do saal aage ki baat hai!”

Aamir Khan also opened up on his ambitious venture, “Mahabharat has been my dream for the last 25 years. When you are making Mahabharat, you are not making a film. Aap yagna karne nikal rahe ho. You need to prepare, which I am trying to do. Whether my dream will be fulfilled or not, I can’t say right now. Until I don’t walk on that path and I don’t have a basic foundation in front of me, I can’t answer this question. Also, I can’t tell you who will be cast in the movie. Whatever I’ll answer will be wrong. I don’t have the right information right now.”

Aamir continued, “Mera mann hai 25 saalon se ki main Mahabharat pe kaam karoon. But as I said, it’s a different journey. Where this journey will reach, I don’t know. But I’ll surely start the journey. It's just a dream right now.”

The teaser of Param Sundari was attached with Bhool Chuk Maaf and it was met with a positive response. On May 29, it was released digitally and further added to the film's hype. However, fans of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor might have to wait a little longer as the producers, Maddock Films, are contemplating postponing its release.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Param Sundari is scheduled to release on July 25. Dinesh Vijan had a meeting with his team and is discussing whether they should stick to the date or arrive later. There are too many releases next month and this is one of the reasons behind the team having second thoughts.”

The source continued, “The Maddock team is looking at August 29. No film has taken this slot. They are also considering other dates.”

The source cautioned, “The USP of Maddock is the way they take swift decisions. We have seen that in the past when they decided to suddenly release Zara Hatke Zara Bachke within 3 weeks or when they pushed Bhool Chuk Maaf not just by a week but also decided to cancel its theatrical release. Hence, with Dinesh Vijan, you never know. He might push the release or he might also stick to July 25. A clearer picture would emerge in a few days.”

If Param Sundari gets pushed, Son Of Sardaar 2 will get a solo Bollywood release. The grand comic caper is also scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 25. It stars Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Sanjay Mishra, Kubbra Sait and the late Mukul Dev.

Overcrowded July

Meanwhile, trade is concerned as there are far too many releases in the month of July. The month will begin with the musical Metro…In Dino, the Pan-India film Kingdom and the much-awaited Hollywood biggie Jurassic World: Rebirth clashing at the box office on July 4. On July 11, Vikrant Massey-Shanaya Kapoor starrer Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Rajkummar Rao’s action drama Maalik would release along with another Hollywood biggie, Superman.

On July 18, Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films will present their romantic saga, Saiyaara, also the debut vehicle of Ahaan Panday. The same day, two Hollywood flicks are also scheduled to be released – Smurfs and I Know What You Did Last Summer. While the former can attract kids in hordes, the latter is a slasher film and after Final Destination Bloodlines, this can be another A-rated box office surprise. Lastly, besides Param Sundari and Son Of Sardaar 2, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will also have a release on the big screen on July 25.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has never shied away from treading the road less taken. Whether it was backing a film about a dyslexic child (Taare Zameen Par), making India’s first official Oscar entry with Lagaan, or turning wrestling drama Dangal into a global phenomenon, Khan has consistently rewritten the rules of Hindi cinema. And now, with his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, he may be on the brink of disrupting the digital distribution model altogether.

YouTube pay-per-view: A potential game-changer Sources confirm that Aamir is seriously considering releasing Sitaare Zameen Par on YouTube Pay-Per-View, roughly eight weeks after its theatrical release on June 20, 2025. In doing so, he would bypass the traditional OTT giants that dominate post-theatrical distribution today.

This move isn’t just bold - it’s seismic.

If implemented successfully, it could dismantle the status quo of how films are monetized after their theatrical run. YouTube’s pay-per-view model offers audiences a one-time, affordable viewing option without being locked into monthly subscriptions. This becomes particularly powerful in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where expensive OTT platforms often fail to penetrate at scale.

Less dependence on OTT, more control for filmmakers Over the years, leading streaming platforms have grown increasingly influential in the film ecosystem, not just acquiring content but shaping it. From dictating release windows to influencing star cast, runtime, and genre choices - creative freedom has often taken a back seat to algorithmic assumptions.

Aamir Khan’s move challenges that very dynamic. By taking his film directly to audiences, Khan not only retains control over how the film is distributed, but also how it’s priced, promoted, and consumed.

A trade insider puts it bluntly: “For decades, filmmakers have depended on middlemen - be it TV syndication or OTT - to reach audiences. If Aamir pulls this off, he cuts out the middlemen and opens a direct revenue channel between filmmakers and viewers and also retains the IP.”

Longer theatrical runs, less OTT pressure One of the biggest changes in the OTT era has been the shrinking of theatrical windows. Today, most Bollywood films are compelled to release on streaming platforms within 6 to 8 weeks of theatrical release -regardless of whether they are still drawing crowds at the box office.

Aamir Khan’s approach flips that logic. By opting for a PPV model on YouTube - a platform not bound by exclusivity contracts or rigid timelines - producers can afford to extend theatrical runs without pressure from OTT partners.

This strategy aligns perfectly with Aamir’s deep-rooted commitment to cinema halls. A staunch advocate of the big screen experience, he has long believed that films deserve to be consumed in theatres first, without the looming threat of a digital release cannibalizing collections.

“He wants the theatre experience to be the primary mode of cinematic consumption,” says a close associate. “The PPV model offers a flexible, non-intrusive digital follow-up, rather than a replacement.”

A visionary at work, again This isn’t the first time Aamir Khan has dared to swim against the tide. In an industry where opening weekend collections often dictate a film’s fate, Aamir has consistently chosen content over commerce - and won. Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, PK, Dangal - each was a risk at the time. Each redefined what Bollywood could achieve, both artistically and commercially.

What makes this current move particularly significant is that it’s not just about Sitaare Zameen Par. It’s about paving the way for a future where filmmakers are not dependent on a handful of platforms to dictate the terms of storytelling.

If successful, Khan’s model could open new revenue streams, encourage more experimental content, and democratize digital film access - especially in rural and low-bandwidth areas where OTT apps are still a luxury.

The Netflix counterattack That’s precisely why streaming giants like Netflix are rattled. As reported exclusively by Bollywood Hungama, Netflix has upped its offer from Rs. 60 crore to a staggering Rs. 125 crore to acquire Sitaare Zameen Par, in an attempt to block this YouTube PPV rollout.

But for Aamir, it’s not just about the money - it’s about pioneering a path that others can follow.

Conclusion: A crossroads for Bollywood The Indian film industry is watching closely. If Khan’s YouTube Pay-Per-View strategy succeeds, it could catalyze a wave of decentralization in film distribution. Filmmakers may no longer feel compelled to chase streaming deals that compromise their vision. Theatres may get more breathing space before films go digital. And most importantly, audiences - especially in underserved regions - could gain greater access to new films without costly subscriptions.

Aamir Khan, once again, isn’t just acting in a film. He’s scripting a new chapter in the business of cinema.

In a candid moment at a recent NDTV event, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her thoughts on fellow actor Alia Bhatt and the feelings of envy that can arise when witnessing someone else's success. Speaking with refreshing honesty, Sara acknowledged the tendency to view others' accomplishments through a narrow lens, without fully understanding the effort and challenges that may have led to them.

Reflecting on Alia Bhatt's recent National Award win, Sara said, “When Alia got the National Award, I was like, ‘God, she got it, she has a kid also, her life is set’. But I don’t know what she went through to get that. I, as an actor, dehumanised her.” Sara further elaborated on how success is often seen in isolation, without recognizing the struggles that come with it. “You don’t know, she must have had challenges and disappointments too, to reach where she has. But I didn’t realise what went into it. There are two sides to every coin.”

The actress, known for her grounded persona and openness, spoke about how envy often stems from incomplete understanding. “Most often, when we are envious of other people, we feel so without all the information. We are envious because we just see that success and then we want that. We don’t see what goes behind it; we never see it. Envy means blindness.”

Sara’s words resonated with many who struggle with comparing themselves to others, especially in a high-pressure industry like Bollywood. Her statement serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and perspective in both personal and professional spaces.

Alia Bhatt, who was honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, has often spoken about the dedication and hard work that has shaped her journey. She welcomed her first child with actor Ranbir Kapoor in late 2022 and continues to balance personal milestones with professional success.

Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan is also carving her own path in the industry and recently she celebrated the immense love she received for her character Sowmya in the romantic comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke which completed 2 years a couple of days ago. The actress has also frequently used public platforms to speak about mental health, self-reflection, and the challenges of being in the public eye. Her latest remarks are being appreciated for their sincerity and depth.

Television actor Gurmeet Choudhary recently opened up about an unsettling incident at his residence involving theft by a newly hired domestic worker. The actor took to Instagram Stories to share the news, later reposted by his wife and fellow actor Debina Bonnerjee.

In his note, Gurmeet wrote, “Today, a new worker stole some items from our home and ran away. Thankfully, we always verify anyone who comes to work, so we could act quickly. I'm especially grateful I was home, and my babies were safe in their room. With prompt action and a few calls, we recovered most of the items - and most importantly, everyone is safe. Just a bit of bad luck, but a strong reminder: Stay alert. Always verify anyone who enters your home for work.”

The post sent a wave of concern among fans, many of whom flooded the couple's social media handles with messages of support and relief. Tarun Gahlot was recently seen in Raid 2 in the role of Chote. This is his third venture with Ajay Devgn and he has previously worked with the talented actor in Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness (2022) and Bholaa (2023). He also features in Ajay’s upcoming romcom, De De Pyaar De 2, the much-awaited sequel to De De Pyaar De (2019). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, he opened up about his film.

Tarun Gahlot began by saying, “I can’t say much. The film has shaped up well, and is in the same zone as Luv Ranjan sir’s other films.”

When asked what we can expect, he replied, “It has a double dose of entertainment, comedy and drama. It’s going to be an amazing film. I am confident that people are going to love the movie.”

Tarun Gahlot then spoke highly of Luv Ranjan and director Anshul Sharma saying, “Luv sir has a great command over his writing. Anshul sir has also done very well. His human understanding is very tremendous. We have worked in a very relaxed manner. For the first time, I had that experience where you are in such a comfortable space that you are not afraid of making mistakes. When you don’t have this fear, nothing can be more relaxing for an actor. Aise aur log hone chahiye, so that as a filmmaker, you can grow and deliver better.”

Besides Ajay Devgn, De De Pyaar De 2 also stars Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan.

Remembering Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

One of the films that stands out in Tarun Gahlot’s filmography is Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021), directed by Dibakar Banerjee. The film took a while to be made. It was all set to be released on March 20, 2020. However, due to the pandemic, it was pushed indefinitely. It was released on March 19, 2021, at a time when once again, the cases had started to rise. As a result, the film didn’t get much of an audience. It finally got its due on Amazon Prime Video.

Tarun Gahlot began by saying that he was seen in a crucial scene in the opening. He revealed, “The whole scene was written by me and Dibakar. I was also the Haryanvi dialect coach for Arjun Kapoor throughout the film.”

On the tumultuous journey of the film, he stated, “I didn’t have much to do as an actor in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. But I was involved in the whole process as Arjun trained with me for three months. Dibakar and I had worked on the Haryanvi dialogues. I guess every film has its own destiny. Its release date got pushed. Finally, it did release in theatres but due to rising COVID cases, it didn’t reach out to the audience. However, it was a very honest film made by a hard-working team. Hence, it was heartening that finally it reached out to people through OTT. I got the same feeling for Raid 2’s success as well though with Raid 2, the response is far more.”

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar starred Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in leading roles. Tarun Gahlot continued, “Arjun and I formed a great bond. He wrote a very nice note for me on Instagram. Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. The film is in the news for many reasons, one of it being that Aamir plans to release it on YouTube after its theatrical run and not on any OTT platform. As part of the promotions of the film, he organized a Taare Zameen Par Fan Meetup featuring the team of the 2007 classic in the presence of hundreds of fans. Interestingly, another YouTube connection emerged with regards to Taare Zameen Par at this event.

The host Laksh Maheshwari said that in the scene where Aamir Khan is seen with a boat, the photograph seen in the room is that of the actor’s mother and father, as per trivia on the internet. Aamir Khan clarified, “No, that’s not my mom and dad. I guess, it is someone else’s mom and dad (smiles)! Maybe it’s Amole Gupte’s parents. I don’t know. But it's not my parents at all.”

The host expressed the desire to show the scene but then revealed that he couldn’t do so as Taare Zameen Par is not available on any streaming platform. Aamir Khan agreed, “Yes, the film is not anywhere.” He then said, “Ek kaam karte hai. I have started a YouTube channel called Aamir Khan Talkies. I’ll tell my team that let’s upload Taare Zameen Par there free of cost. It can be available for 1-2 weeks.” The audience clapped loudly, indicating that they approved of the idea.

TZP team goes down memory lane

Aamir Khan was then joined by Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma and they went down memory lane. Aamir Khan revealed, “For a scene, there was a tear on my face; I didn’t want it. Hence, we removed it. But now, with VFX, such changes are a cakewalk.”

Darsheel Safary spoke about the song ‘Bumm Bumm Bole’, “It was a great experience shooting this song for sir. I was the only one who couldn’t dance. You can see me being upset in the song. I was upset in real life too as everyone around me was dancing. Shiamak Davar sir himself had come to choreograph the song and I was upset about it. Later on, Aamir sir and I did dance together.”

Aamir Khan talked highly of Darsheel, “When I used to explain the shot to him, he used to keep dancing continuously. I used to not mind it as I knew he was absorbing the whole scene. He was not distracted. As soon as we would go for a take, he would get into character immediately.”

Vipin Sharma opened up, “After the film, wherever I used to go, people used to say, ‘Where is Darsheel? You didn’t bring him’. Darsheel was asked the same question.”

Vipin raised laughs as he said, “He used to call me Vipin; it was the most cherished memory of the shoot! One day, I came in the vanity van. He sat on my lap and told me, ‘Vipin, they (people in the unit) will go to hell’. I asked, ‘Why’. He said, ‘They are all eating chicken. You are a vegetarian. You and I are safe’!”

A visibly embarrassed Darsheel Safary clarified, “I was 8 years old then!”

Vipin Sharma, on a serious note, added, “I am not married. I don’t have a family. I never experienced what it means to have a child. He (Darsheel) gave me that experience to feel like a father. I’ll always be there for him!” As expected, Darsheel was quite touched by this confession and so were all the attendees.

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to take the Dhoom franchise forward, as reports suggest he will headline Dhoom 4 in a slick new avatar. The fourth instalment of the popular action-heist franchise is being planned as a reboot, with Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji likely to helm the project under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra is personally invested in shaping the new vision for Dhoom 4 and is currently in the process of locking a script that matches with the legacy of the franchise, along with screenwriter Shridhar Raghavan. “Aditya Chopra has been closely involved in developing the story and screenplay of Dhoom 4 with Shridhar Raghavan. They are currently working on the story draft that’s worthy of the hype around the reboot with Dhoom 4,” a source said.

The franchise, known for its suave anti-heroes, looks to continue the trend with Ranbir playing the antagonist. “Ranbir is the apt choice for Dhoom 4, and the character is also designed keeping his aura and personality in mind. The new Dhoom film is being designed keeping the global action standards in mind, and the visual pallete, as also storytelling will be very different from the already established YRF Spy Universe,” the source added.

Details of the rest of the cast continues to stay under wraps including the names of the actors who will be seen in the roles of police officer Jai and Ali, originally played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in the film series. YRF is planning to take Dhoom 4 on floors by April 2026, with a target wrap by the end of the same year. The makers are eyeing a 2027 release.

Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently working on Love & War with real-life wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, will reunite with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 2007’s Saawariya for that period romance. Meanwhile, Ayan Mukerji is in the final stages of post-production for War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. The action thriller is slated for release on August 14, 2025.

With Ranbir’s charisma and Ayan’s storytelling sensibilities coming together for the fourth time, Dhoom 4 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated action spectacles in the coming years.

Shah Rukh Khan has once again taken over the internet, this time with a leaked video from the sets of his highly anticipated film King. The clip, which surfaced on social media, shows the superstar stepping out of a lift in a Billy Hill sleeveless tank top - revealing his toned abs and body tattoos. The video has sparked a wave of excitement among fans, with many calling it one of his best looks in recent years.

While the exact context of the scene remains under wraps, SRK’s physical transformation and intense screen presence have been widely praised. His new avatar, with a rugged edge, aligns with the buzz around King, where he is expected to portray a grey-shaded gangster. Directed by Siddharth Anand and written by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is positioned as a high-octane action drama.

Fans flooded the comments section with reactions such as “Superb,” “Good look,” and “Love & Respect Mr. Shah Rukh Khan King of Bollywood.” One fan gushed, “It is a killer look after Don 2,” while another wrote, “Bhai kehdo ke ye video 30 saal purana hai bhai, 27 year wale SRK hai ye (Bro, say this video is 30 years old, this is SRK from when he was 27)”.

wthhhhhhh khaaan saaaab pic.twitter.com/gEY3wL1gmS — Aryan (@tumhidekhonaa) June 1, 2025

The video has not only reignited comparisons to Shah Rukh’s Don 2 era look but also built anticipation for his character in King, which appears to be dark, stylish, and action-heavy. While his arms feature several dark spots, rumours suggest that they are marks for body ink as a requisite for the styling of his role – which is being hailed as a refreshing shift from his recent characters.

Adding to the hype around King is the star-studded cast. The film also marks the theatrical debut of Suhana Khan, Shah Rukh’s daughter, who reportedly plays a pivotal role, albeit not his daughter. Abhishek Bachchan is set to play the antagonist, while Munjya actor Abhay Verma will also be seen in a key part. A cameo from Deepika Padukone is also expected to add to this starry affair.

With such a powerful ensemble and SRK’s dramatic transformation, King is fast becoming one of the most anticipated films of the year. The viral video has only fuelled curiosity about what promises to be a gripping cinematic experience.

Aamir Khan has opened up about his first marriage to Reena Dutta, offering a rare and heartfelt reflection on the decision they made at a very young age. The actor, who recently announced his relationship with Gauri Spratt, shared candid insights into how their journey together began and evolved as he gears up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par.

In a podcast with Raj Shamani, Aamir discussed his personal life and recalled his first marriage saying, “Reena aur maine bahut jaldi shaadi kar li (We got married very early). Legally the day that was possible for me to get married – which was April 18, a month’s notice after I turned 21 on March 14 – we got married on that day. Reena was only 19 at the time. We only knew each other for 4 months and that too we had only spent very little time with each other. We did love each other a lot but now when I think back, I feel like a step like marriage should have been a well-thought decision. Uss waqt jawani ke josh mein aap bahut saara cheezein aap nahi samajte ho, halaaki baad mein aapko ehsaas hota hai (At that time, when you are young, you don’t think about many things but you do understand it in the later stages of your life)”.

Despite the impulsive start, Aamir stressed that the relationship was meaningful and enriching. “However, I must say that our marriage was very good. I do not mean that Reena or the marriage with her was a mistake. That is not at all what I am saying. To be honest, Reena is an amazing person because of this early marriage, we actually ended up growing together. Even today, we respect and love each other a lot. But I believe that no one at such a young age or in a hurry should take a huge step in their lives,” he shared.

The actor, who shared 16 years of marriage with Reena before parting ways amicably, acknowledged the impact that period had on shaping his life. He added, “Having said that, I don’t think I would be sitting here if I would have not done that. So I cannot ever call it a ‘mistake’. In fact, another reason why I can’t accept that it was a mistake is because the marriage gave me two most priceless gifts – my kids – Ira and Junaid. I also got to spend about 16 years with Reena.”

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta got married in 1986 and separated in 2002. Despite their split, the two continued to share a strong friendship and co-parented their children. While Ira is currently married to Nupur Shikhare and she has been working towards social causes, Aamir’s son Junaid made his acting debut in films last year with Maharaj.

The trailer of Housefull 5 is out and during the launch, producer Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed that 2 versions of the comic caper will be released. He said, “So, if you see at Gaiety, you'll see a character playing a killer but in Galaxy, the culprit will be somebody else. In PVR Audi 4, you'll have one killer but in PVR Audi 5, you'll see a version with a different killer. Even in the same audi, different show timings will have different actors playing the killer. This is happening in the world for the first time.” We asked the trade experts if this move could be a game-changer or will it backfire?

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “It remains to be seen how people react to it. I don’t think it has happened before. People have shot two endings, like what happened with Sholay (1975). But with Housefull 5, there are two versions and they’ll also be available to the audience. That would be very interesting.”

He added, “I’d love to watch it twice as I would want to know what the second ending would be. However, it all boils down to the content. Otherwise, people might watch it only once. The film needs to have repeat value. After all, the identity of the killer comes only towards the end. Hence, for the remainder of the film, you need to have a very gripping screenplay.”

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, said, “It’s a novelty. It’s not something that happens every week. The idea behind it is to create conversation to get people talking about the film. The worst thing about a film is being royally ignored. If people don’t talk about a film in a positive or negative manner, then you have a problem in hand.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan explained, “This has never happened in the history of cinema. It is novel but there are also doubts. Today, people hesitate to watch a film in cinema even once and here, there are 2 endings, with the hope that the audience would catch two versions.”

He also appealed that there should be complete clarity on the two versions to avoid confusion. He noted, “There’s an apprehension that one might go watch the second version, to see who the alternate killer is and that person might end up watching the same version for the second time!”

Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal, meanwhile, said, “With my experience as a film distributor and exhibitor, I don’t think such an idea can work and guarantee success at the box office.”

Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia discussed how her early decisions in the film industry resulted in her being typecast. In a chat with Abhay Deol and comedian Sumukhi on The Durex Podcast, Neha shared that she gained 25 kg after pregnancy and faced trolling, but her husband, actor Angad Bedi, helped her feel beautiful and confident in her own skin.

Neha talked about being trolled for her “It’s her choice” comment on Roadies and how she was typecast in Bollywood. She explained, “Without social media also I was also kind of judged for those kind of films I did early in my career, even when I did only one or two of them. I had to change paths, and that hard part was to make people believe in me. Just because I did a movie like Julie back in the day, doesn't mean I can't do a mainstream comedy film. I felt like I was walking on eggshells later. It’s been eight years since the ‘It’s her choice’ thing happened, and even now, if I go wrong anywhere, trolls flood the comments with the same thing. Nobody understood the context of what I was trying to say.”

She clarified that the message she wanted to convey was that a woman has the right to make her own choices, which represents true freedom. This was in response to her comment on MTV Roadies, where she was misunderstood as defending a woman having five boyfriends.

She shared that now in her 40s, she’s begun prioritizing herself and feeling more comfortable in her own skin. Reflecting on how Angad supported her after pregnancy weight gain, she said, “As an actor, when I gave birth, I gained 25 kgs, but my husband made me feel beautiful. He constantly complimented me. In my mind, I felt like I was jobless, I’d get trolled every time I stepped out, and my clothes didn’t fit. Coming from a beauty pageant background, those things mattered to me, I’m not going to lie. But now, finally in my 40s, I realize those things don’t matter, and I feel like the best version of myself. Today, I feel my sexiest.”

Angad and Neha got married in a private ceremony at a gurudwara that took many by surprise. The couple welcomed their first child, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, in November 2018, followed by their second, Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, in 2021.

Meanwhile, Neha is currently serving as a gang leader on Roadies XX, alongside Prince Narula, Elvish Yadav, Rhea Chakraborty, and Gautam Gulati. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show is scheduled to wrap up on June 1.

While Disha Patani may be known for her high-octane performances on screen and disciplined fitness routines, her downtime paints a much more grounded and relatable picture. Away from the camera and choreography, the actress finds joy in quiet Sundays, travel goals, and a handful of quirky hobbies.

“I train, then lie in bed and eat – a lot,” she laughs, describing how she likes to slow down on Sundays. For Disha, these days off are less about glam and more about geeky pleasures. She enjoys watching movies or playing video games like Pokémon and Tekken on her Nintendo Switch or PlayStation. “I’m a bit of a geek,” she admits.

Her love for Japanese culture isn’t limited to anime and gaming. A trip to Japan left a lasting impression on her. “It was like I stepped inside an anime; it was surreal,” she recalls. Enchanted by the vibrant culture and food, Disha even dreams of living there someday. “I’d love to live in Japan at some point – have one house there and one in India. That would be amazing.”

The wanderlust doesn’t end there. Antarctica has been a long-standing dream for her, inspired by countless childhood hours spent watching documentaries. “One day, I’ll go there,” she says, calling it a destination still parked on her bucket list.

When she’s not travelling or training, Disha dabbles in creative outlets — though only if they keep her interest. “I tried drums, piano… but I get bored if I don’t learn fast,” she admits. She’s also painted and played basketball in the past but hasn’t had much time for either lately. What has stayed consistent, however, is her need to keep things tidy. “I think I have OCD,” she jokes. “I’m always fixing things, arranging cupboards.” While she doesn’t call herself a perfectionist, she confesses, “I like things a certain way.”
