This is the first real-life character of your career. How was the experience? The experience was very different from any of the previous characters I've played. This film is inspired from some true events and these true events consist of about 22 fishermen that usually travel from this village called Srikakulam. They go all the way to Gujarat, take boats on rent from there and go out fishing and unfortunately on one trip they get caught in Pakistan waters. They drift off into Pakistan waters, get caught there and put in jail. They're in jail there for about a year and a half and then eventually released.

Did you undertake any research before plunging into your character? I had gone down to Srikakulam, the village where these fishermen are from. It's in fact a small town called D Matchilesam. I had gone down there, spent some time with them after the director had told me of the idea of the film. The film was not fully scripted then, but he just told me an idea in in a very documentary kind of form. I went down there, met these families, heard out their experiences, their challenges, what they went through in Pakistan and how their life is at sea.So a lot of these moments, these interactions with them gave me a lot of detailing and design for my character and they're very inspiring people in real. So, this inspired me a lot and motivated me a lot and they are real heroes for me in a way. If you go down to listening about all their challenges and the way they navigate through all this, it's very, very inspiring.

Tell me about it? They're out in for almost 25 to 30 days in a month and once they're out there, there's no connect to the world. Even if there is some kind of emergency at home, they don't know about it.If something happens on the boat, they have to take care of themselves out there in the ocean. No kind of network connection whatsoever. So various challenges.

How did these experiences effect you personally? So many moments like this sort of really inspired me and more than anything, this film, the soul of the film is a love story and we have drawn a few inspirations from what they have said. but obviously put it into a completely different cinematic language. But a lot of the basic emotions are inspired from the experiences that they have shared.

Thandel sounds very different from what you have done so far? So yeah, overall, the experience was very different. It's the first time I'm attempting something that's sort of based out of some true events. Usually, characters have been fictional so far. Over here it's playing something that's drawn out of a real character. So yeah, it's been a very different experience, very very new, very challenging and it's inspired me and motivated me in many ways. So it's been a very humbling experience.

It was very gracious of your Thandel team to approach Mrs Sushma Swaraj’s daughter to get clearance for using her name and presence in the film? Yes, the team has approached Sushma Swaraj's daughter, Bansuri Swaraj and we have gotten an NOC from her for whatever we are using in the film. I knew all the experiences that the fishermen went through in Pakistan. We've sat down and had this conversation with them, and they've been very transparent, and they've opened up to us on whatever they have been through or rather whatever they've said they've been through. So yeah, I know a lot about it but we are not going exactly as per what happened because of various other reasons. But the fact that these people got caught in Pakistan, were put in a jail over there for a year and a half, their release was delayed due to various political factors that were happening during that year of 2017, 2018, 2019. I believe usually they come out in a few months but their release was delayed for several months because of these political conflicts between both the countries and how various episodes during that time had delayed their release even more. So this is something we are broadly covering in the film but we are not getting down into the exact details as to what happened there and all that. That has been obviously put into a cinematic screenplay and is going to be presented to the audience.

This is also the first time you are playing a rustic character I would say this is the first time I'm playing a rooted character such as a fisherman. Yes, very close to the land, very close to the soil. It's been a great experience. It was quite a challenging transformation to be honest because I'm very different in the way I look and the way I behave from their actual real texture and lives but of course at the end of the day it is the actor's job to sort of mould into character. So the transformation for this one took me time. Like I said, a lot of clarity had come into me when I made that trip to Srikakulam and interacted with them. A lot of notes happened there. I could come back and really work with the director and detail this character out and the biggest challenge about the transformation was the slang. I speak in a Srikakulam slang which is very unique, very very different from the Telugu you usually hear and not much used in the movies. So learning the slang and adapting to this was a task and apart from that also their fishing activities like throwing the net and various other activities on the boat when they're out in the sea. There was a lot of workshop and rehearsals that happened on this front.

This is your second film with Sai Pallavi? Working with Sai Pallavi is always an amazing experience. She's an artist who sort of complements your performance with the energy she brings on screen and also she's such a transparent actor. She's always on point with her beats and she's so clear about the character. Very very involved and immersed in the script at all times. She's such a pleasure to work with.

Why do you think audiences would want to watch Thandel? This love story over here what we are showing will be very different from what we've done before. The first film Sai and I did together was the film Love Story where it was more of a boy meets girl and the treatment from there and how they sort of journey from there from that point and the conflicts that come in between. But with the film Thadel, the film opens with us in love and we're going through some conflicts from that point of time. So I would say it's a more mature kind of a treatment, mature kind of a role in terms of the love story from what you've seen us in before.

How important is Thandel to your career? Thandel is extremely important for me. As an actor I'm really looking forward to this one. Just like any other film but more than anything I've journeyed with this film for almost two years. A lot of effort has gone into the characterization, a lot of effort has been put in by me to mould into character and try to make it as true and convincing as possible for the audience. I'm really looking forward to this film sort of shaping my career in a completely new and positive direction and also this is the biggest production I've been a part of. So there is a lot of opportunity with Thandel that I'm hoping will resonate with the audience.

We hear that the actress now plans to explore the intense female-centric genre more as reports suggest that she is keen to take on the role of 70s and 80s star Parveen Babi in the latter’s biopic. According to current reports, we hear that Dimri has already started her research, even before she has signed on the dotted line.

While the biopic is expected to be a Netflix series, directed by Shonali Bose, we hear that Triptii Dimri has even started with the basic preps of understanding the life story of the late yesteryear star. “She is deeply invested in understanding Parveen Babi’s journey, from her rise to superstardom to the personal struggles she faced. Even though she hasn’t signed the dotted line yet, her commitment to preparation speaks volumes,” revealed a source to India Today. It is being said that if all goes well, this will not only mark the actress’ return to intense women-oriented lead roles but it will also be her web-series debut.

Meanwhile, talking about Parveen Babi, she was one of the highest-paid actresses of the 1970s–80s and has appeared in 70 films. Known for her glamorous roles and sexy avatars, the actress became the first Bollywood star to appear on the cover of Time magazine. Best known for films like Kaala Sona, Amar Akbar Anthony, Suhaag, Kaala Patthar, Shaan, Kranti, Kaalia and Namak Halaal, the actress retired in 1991.

On the other hand, Triptii Dimri is one of the busiest actors in B-town currently. The actress has Dhadak 2 which was announced by Dharma Productions and it will explore her chemistry with Siddhant Chaturvedi for the first time. You have been closely associated with Junaid through his father Aamir Khan whom you have directed in Secret Superstar and Lal Singh Chaddha? I've known Junaid for almost 20 years now. He's always been a very grounded person. In fact, when I bought my first car after Secret Superstar, he said what a waste of money autos are so convenient.

What was it like directing him after knowing him from his childhood? On set, he's a complete team player. He is concerned about taking lunch break on time so that the shooting unit doesn't get hungry, he's constantly briefing the security team to maintain silence, so I get clear dialogue recorded. He's not just an actor; he's a solid partner. But I wasn't surprised.

Why? I know him and his mom and sister and father for so long and this is how they've brought him up.

And Khushi Kapoor? I was really surprised by Khushi. I didn't know her at all, so I wondered what she'd be like. But she is the most professional person I've ever met. She's ten minutes early for every meeting. She came to rehearsals and didn't even need to look at the script.

I believe she is really good with her lines. She knew every line by heart and had come with various options of delivery. When she came on board, she made a playlist of songs for me which she felt would have been Baani's playlist. I heard those songs and instantly knew that she's understood the part.

Doesn’t the current generation’s discipline surprise you? Yes! Khushi sat in on my meetings with the costume stylist and the production designer. She was really helpful in locking the colour palette for this character which really helps not just the costumes but also the visual of the whole film.

By the way, I loved your Lal Singh Chaddha? That makes two of you: my mother and you.

Farah Khan marked her foray into direction with the star-studded Main Hoon Na that featured an ensemble cast from Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani, Naseeruddin Shah, Suniel Shetty, among others. The film, which went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters, is all set to get a sequel, according to current reports. While fans of the film will definitely be excited to watch this reunion on screen, we hear that it is already on the cards.

As per a Pinkvilla report, a source was quoted telling how the film is special for Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who was also the co-producer of the film with wife Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The source said, “Main Hoon Na is the first film produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan under their banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, and the film is very close to their heart. Farah has cracked an idea for Main Hoon Na 2, and Shah Rukh has loved the route she plans to take for the sequel. Farah is presently working to crack the screenplay with her team of writers, as also the ones working with Red Chillies”.

The source also insisted that the superstar has insisted that the sequel should have a larger impact than the first instalment and has asked the choreographer-filmmaker to leave no stone unturned. “SRK is clear to not make a sequel just for the sake of it and is well aware of the fan following that Main Hoon Na has among the cinema-going audience. He has asked Farah and his in-house team of writers to honestly work on the screenplay and come up with something that surpasses the impact of first part. He is expected to hear the first draft by mid-2025 and then take a call on the same. The script is presently in the development stage,” added the source.

Speaking of the past collaborations between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan as the filmmaker, the duo have joined hands for films like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and Happy New Year. Meanwhile, on the work front, the superstar is expected to return to the silver screen with King which will also star Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan. Written by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is expected to be a gangster drama.

Actor Sikandar Kher is all set to step into the shoes of playing an army man in the upcoming Sriram Raghavan directorial, Ikkis. For the first time Sikandar is set to be seen in an army based film. With Sriram Raghavan helming the film that is based on true events, it has already been garnering ample excitement among the industry insiders.

In Ikkis, Sikandar will portray the life of a dedicated army man and his character is expected to bring resilience, discipline, and heroism synonymous to the screen, with the Indian armed forces. The actor has already begun preparation for the role. Talking about the opportunity and his preparation, Sikandar said, "I have always looked forward to a Sriram Raghavan film... he has his own language of film making. It’s a unique perspective on a story, the way it unfolds is so gripping, and for me as an actor I’ve always wanted to be a part of his cinematic universe.”

Coming to the film, Ikkis marks the theatrical debut of Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, who made his film debut alongside Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor in The Archies. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 war, the film follows the life of second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal essayed by Nanda. The film also features Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, among others in key roles.

Popular stand-up comedian Pranit More, who shares a decent fan following on social media, was assaulted in a shocking incident after his Kolhapur show by a gang of men who waited back to meet him pretending to be his fans. As per a note shared by More’s team on social media, the attackers revealed that they were angry about Pranit’s jokes on debutant actor Veer Pahariya. However, expressing shock over the incident, the Sky Force star condemned the act.

Taking to his Instagram page, Veer Pahariya, grandson of former Maharashtra CM and former Minister of Home Affairs Sushil Kumar Shinde, has spoken out against the unfortunate incident involving comedian Pranit More, in a heartfelt statement where he made it clear that he had no involvement in the attack and strongly condemned any form of violence. “I am truly shocked and saddened by what happened to Comedian Pranit More,” Veer shared in a public statement. “I want to make it absolutely clear—I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence. As someone who has always taken trolling in stride, laughed along with it, and shown love even to my critics, I would never encourage or support harm towards anyone, let alone someone from the same creative fraternity.”

“To Pranit and his fans—I am deeply sorry that this happened. No one deserves this. I will personally ensure that whoever was responsible is held accountable,” he added. Sources close to the actor have also confirmed that he is actively looking into the situation and will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

Meanwhile, Pranit More’s team have questioned the freedom and rights of the stand-up comedian and have also asserted about filing a police complaint against the attackers. "We have lodged an online complaint from Mumbai. We sincerely urge the authorities to take immediate action and thoroughly investigate this matter so that such incidents do not happen again", the note read in conclusion.

With Koi Mil Gaya – Krrish being one of the most successful franchises of Bollywood, fans of superstar Hrithik Roshan are eagerly waiting to see what the next part holds in store for them. Even though, Krrish 4 has been announced, there hasn’t much update or progress in terms of the other announcements including star cast. Recently, Rakesh Roshan, who has been busy with the promotions of their docu-series The Roshans, opened up about the few challenges that the superhero -sci-fi drama has been facing including a low budget.

In an interaction with Galatta Plus, as the veteran actor-filmmaker was asked about the current status of Krrish 4, Rakesh Roshan replied, “I known people have been waiting for a long time now. But somehow, we have been unable to get the budget right. The scale of the movie is quite massive this time. If I try to reduce the scale, the movie just seems like a common film. Moreover, the world has become small now. These days, kids have been exposed to several superhero films. Even if the smallest error will be caught by them and it will get criticized. So we have to be very very careful”.

He further added on how Indians don’t have the kind of extensive budgets that international superhero dramas have. “We cannot make movies of that level. We cannot afford that much costs. Our budget doesn't allow us. If their total budget for such films is Rs. 1000, then we have to make the same movie in just Rs. 4. Due to such financial constraints, we as movie makers have to focus on making better stories. Currently, we are working towards one such story. Although I do assure that there will definitely be high-octane sequences – may be there will only be 2 or 3 instead 10 – but it will surely be a part of the film!

For the unversed, Krrish is a superhero franchise which features Hrithik Roshan in the dual role of scientist Dr. Rohit Mehra and Krishna Mehra aka Krrish. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra as Krrish's wife Priya Mehra, along with a host of other characters.

Priyanka Chopra, who recently landed in the country, has sparked ample excitement among fans as she hinted at making a comeback into Indian films with SS Rajamouli’s ambitious project SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu. The ‘Next On Netflix 2025’ event started with a bang with the appearance of Saif Ali Khan. And it ended on a rocking note as Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise entry to promote his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut show, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. The hilarious announcement video was unveiled after which SRK himself came on stage and it led to lot of hoots, claps and whistles.

Shah Rukh Khan began by saying, “It's been a while since we saw such a huge turnout of the press at an event. I'd like to thank Netflix for giving me and Aryan this opportunity. Thank you, Monika, Bella and Ted. I am glad that Aryan's first outing will be on this platform. He and his team - Bilal, Ankit and Manav - have worked very hard for years on this project.”

He continued, “This is like a family show as Netflix is like a family. My son is taking his first big step. My daughter Suhana has got into acting. Agar yeh duniya inko 50% bhi pyaar de de jo mujhe diya hai, toh woh bahut zyada hoga.”

Shah Rukh Khan then clarified on the title of the show, “It's pronounced as 'The Bads Of Bollywood'. There's a reason why Aryan has named it this way which you'll know once you see the show. Monika has told me to repeat the correct pronunciation ten times kyunki asterisk ke saath logon ko shayad samaj na aaye!”

He then got people excited as he remarked, “The producer of this show is Gauri Khan. Main sirf naam ka producer hoon. I have a simple funda. Yeh sab producer, director, actor sab ek taraf. I am just a bloody star!” The journalists agreed and shouted in excitement.

Shah Rukh then added, “The characters of the show are very fascinating and I felt that the story is apt for a series format. Aryan and his team agreed with me. There are many actors and actresses in the film. I haven't asked them to come on board. They signed the show for the love of Aryan. I can't name them just now. He has strictly instructed me, 'Show ke baare mein kuch nahin batana'. He said, 'Hum apna show bhi nahin dikhayenge (at the event). Sab apna show dikhayenge. Hum aapko dikhayenge! I am like ghar ki murgi. Aryan and Gauri are like, 'Isse acting karwa lo'.”

He also said, “I saw some of the episodes and they are quite fun. People get offended by my jokes. Hence, I have stopped joking. Virarsat mein maine apne bete ko joke karna de diya hai aur bola, 'Ab tu ja aur baap ka naam roshan kar'!”

In a surprising post, Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to her hometown India after several years, decided to quit the film industry and become Mahamandaleshwar at the Kinnar Akhada which sparked a major controversy among the community groups. Following allegations that she bribed the Akhada leaders Rs. 1 crore, the actress addressed the same in the India TV show Aap Ki Adalat where she opened up about her bank accounts being frozen after she was alleged of being involved in a drug cartel ring with bae Vicky Goswami.

However, insisting that she has been observing penance for the past 23 years, Mamta Kulkarni revealed that she was always keen on taking the spiritual route and had decided to not return to films. In the interaction with host Rajat Sharma, Mamta insisted that she has no money and said, “Mere pass Rs.10 crore kya Rs.1 crore bhi nahi hai. Mere bank accounts seize kar diye hai government ne. Aapko malum nahi hai main kis tarah se reh rahi hun. Mere pass paise nahi hai, kisi se udhar leke Rs.2 lakh, voh bhi jo guru ko dakshina deni hoti hai (What Rs. 10 crore, I don’t even have Rs. 1 crore. My bank accounts have been seized by the government. You have no idea how I have been living. I don’t have any money. I had to borrow Rs. 2 lakh to offer ‘guru dakshina’)”.

Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to Mumbai and sparked rumours about making a comeback in films, insisted that she doesn’t plan on returning to films but instead would like to follow a spiritual path. This further led to the actress becoming a member of the Kinnar Akhada during the Maha Kumbh and performing the rituals, after which she received the title of Mahamandaleshwar. However, now only a week later, Rishi Ajay Das, who is the founder of the Akhada has expelled the actress and also popular social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from their respective positions.

On Friday, Das released an official press statement regarding the removal of the two members, which was shared by many reports wherein he said, “As the founder of Kinnar Akhada, I am hereby relieving Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from his position as Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, effective immediately. His appointment was made with the goal of promoting religious activities and uplifting the transgender community, but he has deviated from these responsibilities.”

Furthermore, he also expressed his anger over the matter and was quoted telling PTI, “This is not Bigg Boss's show that you do it during Maha Kumbh and then for three years you don't do any work... Both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandleshwar, Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, will be removed from their post.” He went on to speak about the accusations that were thrown against the actress regarding her involvement in the drug cartel and stated, “A person like Mamta Kulkarni who has allegations of indulging in anti-national activities against her was suddenly brought here and without 'sanyas', she was directly anointed as Mahamandleshwar. This is not right. So, I am taking action against them.”

On the other hand, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi has defended his actions and asserted taking action against Das. He also came in defense of the actress insisting that all charges against her were later dropped by the court. In a statement given to ANI, Tripathi shared, “We had expelled Ajay Das in 2017. He then chose a household life and misappropriated Kinnar Akhara's funds during the 2016 Ujjain Kumbh. Actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani recently shared updates on the much-awaited sequel to F.A.L.T.U. During a Q&A session, he revealed he’s on the lookout for a “good and exciting story” for the sequel to the 2011 film. While busy with his upcoming production Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Bhagnani emphasized that the success of the sequel hinges on an original and engaging storyline.

He said, “I am looking for a good and exciting story for F.A.L.T.U-2. Once we find something unique and appealing, we will definitely make the sequel.”

Directed by Remo D’Souza and produced by Vashu Bhagnani under Puja Entertainment, F.A.L.T.U. featured Jackky Bhagnani, Puja Gupta, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Angad Bedi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Arshad Warsi, with Akbar Khan and Darshan Jariwala in supporting roles. The film was released on April 1, 2011.

Meanwhile, Bhagnani made headlines after attending the opening ceremony of the International League T20 in the UAE. Speaking about his love for cricket, the actor mentioned that he has always enjoyed playing the sport, both as a child and even now.

He added, “I’ve always enjoyed playing cricket as a kid, and I still enjoy it to date. Attending the ILT20 Opening Ceremony was a one-of-a-kind experience. We all love cricket, and it was an amazing experience for me to perform at the opening ceremony. It’s lovely to see how cricket brings people together, and seeing everyone’s energy made me ecstatic.”

Amazon Prime Video is an SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) platform, which means that one has to buy a subscription to access its library of exciting films. MX Player, on the other hand, is an AVOD (Advertising-Based Video on Demand) platform. It signifies that one can watch content on the streaming giant for free but with ads. With Amazon and MX Player now coming together, certain films of Amazon Prime Video will now be available on MX Player under the AVOD arrangement and users can enjoy it without paying a single penny.

One of the biggest films in this regard is the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01. Some other licensed films available now on MX Player are Drishyam 2, Ram Setu, Heropanti 2, JugJugg Jeeyo, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bellbottom, Satyameva Jayate, Satyameva Jayate 2, Thank God etc. Amazon original films like Jai Bhim (Tamil and Hindi versions), Gehraiyaan, Coolie No 1, Udaan, Sardar Udham, Dybbuk, Durgamati etc. can also be accessed on MX Player.

The lovely documentary The Roshans dropped on Netflix and has been received love from all quarters. The show has been loved for its treatment, star value and because it speaks about not-so-known aspects of the late Roshans, his talented sons Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan and his dashing actor grandson, Hrithik Roshan. In an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan spoke about the show and being troubled by Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan during the making of Karan Arjun (1995).

In The Roshans, Shah Rukh Khan can be heard saying, “We harassed Rakesh ji a lot because both of us were naughty and troublemakers. Pinkie ji scolded me a lot saying, ‘You’re troubling Guddu a lot. I didn’t expect this from you’. Between Salman and me, main thoda shareef tha. At least on the face of it! I replied, ‘I didn’t do anything. It’s all his doing’. So, we were two young kids, troubling a father figure.”

We asked Rakesh Roshan whether he got angry when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were upto mischief. Rakesh Roshan set the record clear by stating, “It’s not like they were not co-operating. They used to play pranks and it became too much. Hence, other actors also joined them. As a result, when I would go for a take, nobody was in sync. I had to bring everybody in sync. But I guess it happened as they were youngsters and were having fun. They decided to do masti but in the process, things took a turn for the worse and other actors also joined them. They would tell me, ‘We’ll do that way’ while I would insist, ‘But I want it this way’.”

Rakesh Roshan continued, “They were doing it only to make me angry. But the best part is that I never got angry. Every morning, I used to pray to God that ‘Today, I should not lose my cool’. And until the very end of the shoot, I never lost my cool (smiles).”

While Shah Rukh Khan can be extensively seen in The Roshans, Salman Khan is conspicuous by his absence. When asked about it, Rakesh Roshan revealed, “I did call him up 4-5 times but I guess he was stuck in some issues. Hence, I didn’t force him (to appear in the documentary).”

While his last film was a magnum opus starring Tamil superstar Dhanush, now the director of Captain Miller is all set to enter the Bollywood arena. The Saif Ali Khan stab case saw a new development on Monday evening when the police found the owner of the SIM, which was being used by the accused – Shariful Islam. Now, in recent development, the police has traced the identity of the SIM card which is expected to be owned by a woman residing in West Bengal, wherein the latter has insisted that her mobile phone has been missing for days.

The investigation proceedings kicked off when the Mumbai police nabbed a certain man named Vijay Das, three days after the incident, who was later identified as Shariful Islam living under an alias. As the probe continued, the police revealed that they realized he was a Bangladeshi national who crossed the border to India in search of better opportunities and have been living under different identities. Recently, they asserted that the accused spent a good amount of time in West Bengal and decided to get a new number for him to stay in touch with his family in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, he soon shifted to Mumbai for jobs and continued working odd jobs in order to avoid presenting documents. In order to gather evidence, the police investigated the Nadia and Murshidabad districts around West Bengal where they arrested Shariful.

Furthermore, the reports also state that the police also investigated his identity wherein they made him contact his brother who shared documents like a school leaving certificate as proofs of his nationality.

For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan was attacked during the early hours of January 16 in an alleged attempted robbery incident at his residence in Mumbai. The actor suffered multiple stab wounds after which he was immediately rushed to the nearby Lilavati Hospital where he underwent a few emergency surgeries. However, the actor was discharged on January 21 and is well on the way to recovery.

With the investigation taking a new turn every day in the Saif Ali Khan case, latest reports suggested an alleged mismatch between the fingerprint samples collected by the police as evidence from Khan’s Mumbai residence and the accused. For the unversed, three days after the incident on January 16, the police detained a man named Sharif Muhammad – a Bangladeshi national in relation to the case. While the evidence is currently being investigated, shutting down reports of a mismatch, the Mumbai and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has revealed that they are yet to receive reports of fingerprints match.

In a report published by Hindustan Times, Deputy Commissioner Dikshit Gedam opened up about them awaiting the report. “The fingerprint department is yet to submit their report to the Bandra police. We’ll wait for the report before commenting further,” he was quoted saying. Meanwhile, an unnamed official from the CID team too has confirmed the details asserting that they are yet to send across the report. Meanwhile, according to these reports, one of the IPS officers has addressed the ongoing buzz about fingerprints mismatch stating that it is a ‘premature’ assumption, insisting that the investigation of the evidence is currently underway.

Police registers statement from Saif Ali Khan and the house help

As per the recent reports, Saif Ali Khan and house staff, Jeh’s nanny Elyimma Philips have been registered as key witnesses in the case. Philip in her statement revealed that on the early morning hours of January 16, she spotted an intruder while on her way to her room near one of the bathrooms of the apartment. She immediately reacted by screaming for help, but the intruder tried to subdue her voice by attacking her with a knife. Meanwhile, Khan was awakened by her cry for help and immediately jumped into action in a bid to protect his house staff. However, the scuffle that followed resulted in the actor sustaining multiple severe and mild injuries across many parts of his body, following which he was immediately taken into surgery at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra.

Marking the return of one of the most beloved characters of Indian Cinema – Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn had promised audiences to take on another action-packed adventure of Bajirao Singham during Diwali last year. While the film, titled Singham Again, garnered a decent response at the box office, it failed to meet the expectations of being an extravaganza treat. Although not many opened about this matter, now, months after the release, the leading man Devgn decided to address the same during an interview.

One of the social media users have taken to the platform X aka Twitter, to share a clip from a recent interview of Ajay Devgn where he is seen candidly answering the host regarding the feedback he received for Singham Again. After the host politely points out that the Bajirao Singham, who was known for his grand action sequences who would take on the villains alone in his bulky avatar, was missing from the recent 2024 release, Ajay agreed to the statement saying, “I think yeh reaction mujhe kaafi logon se aaya hai. toh aage dhyaan rakhenge ki woh jo Singham ka feel tha - guss guss ke maarne ka - woh aage zaroor rahega (I think I received a similar reaction from many. So, we are going to ensure that the next time – the authentic feel of Singham where he does intense action – will definitely be a part of the film)”.

About Singham Again

Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced under the banner Jio Studios, the film was the third movie in the Singham franchise and fifth one in the world of Rohit Shetty’s ambitious copverse. The film featured Kareena Kapoor Khan reprising her character of Avni Bajirao Singham along with a host of celebrities like Arjun Kapoor who played the lead antagonist with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar in key cameos. The film released during Diwali, on November 1.
