The team of Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas has been making its presence on different platforms for promotions. Amid all this, the most prestigious moment came in the journey of Tejas as honourable Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries from the Indian Air Force watched the film during the special screening organized by the team at the Indian Airforce Auditorium.

Tejas has made its way to the Indian ministry. A special screening of the action entertainer was held for the honourable Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries from the Indian Air Force at the Indian Airforce Auditorium. While this was indeed a moment worth pride for the team Tejas, yet another prestigious moment came in when Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan gave his brooch to the director Sarvesh Mewara as a memento.

Kangana shared a few glimpses of the Tejas team with honourable Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and COAS General Manoj Pande. She further jotted an overwhelming caption, "Team Tejas held a special screening for Respected defence minister @rajnathsinghbjp ji and many dignitaries from the Indian Air Force at the Indian Airforce auditorium today evening. It was an enthralling experience to see a film dedicated to the defence forces and our soldiers with so many soldiers and the honourable Defence Minister himself. In a surreal moment after watching the film Chief of Defence Staff. General Anil Chauhan PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM removed his fighter jet-shaped brooch from his jacket and gifted to my director @sarveshmewara This gesture moved us deeply it seemed we have accomplished our mission. As per a report in Times of India, the magistrate court relied on the doctor's evidence, who confirmed the smell of alcohol, Tahil's pupils being dilated, his walk being unsteady and his speech incoherent.

Before French actor Omar Sy was known as Lupin around the world, he won hearts in the critically and commercially acclaimed French Buddy-Comedy, The Intouchables - a story of two grown men coming together from starkly different backgrounds to help each other overcome different aspects of their lives holding them back. An instant classic, the Intouchables has found a new home with its Hindi adaptation being kicked off by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, the visionary producers behind the massively successful and critically acclaimed film Kill.

Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment have once again united their creative forces to bring this iconic French film to Indian audiences. This marks the fourth collaboration between the two filmmaking powerhouses, following the incredible success of their maiden production, Kill, which made waves following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. Set to be directed by Collin D'Cunha, the film is part of a larger creative synergy that was announced in May 2023 between Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga Kapoor's Sikhya Entertainment.

The Intouchables, was originally released in 2011 and was directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, received widespread acclaim for its touching narrative and outstanding performances by François Cluzet and Omar Sy in the lead roles. The Hindi adaptation aims to recreate the magic of the original while adding a unique touch that resonates with Indian audiences.

Commenting on this exciting venture, Karan Johar expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "Working on The Intouchables is a creative challenge and a thrilling opportunity. We are committed to bringing the essence of this beloved French film to the Indian audience while infusing it with our cultural sensibilities. Collaborating with Guneet once again is an exciting prospect, and I am confident that this project will touch the hearts of viewers across the country."

Guneet Monga Kapoor shared her excitement, stating, “The Intouchables is iconic and one of the most celebrated films around the world. It is very exciting to be able to bring that to India and Hindi audiences. After a high-octane, action-packed, Kill, we are laying our hands at dramedy which signifies the range of the spectrum of our collaboration with Dharma which we are incredibly excited about!”

Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Productions, expressed his confidence in the project, stating, "The partnership between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment has been marked by creativity, innovation, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional cinema. 'The Intouchables' adaptation is a step forward to our dedication to storytelling, and bringing unique stories to the forefront”.

Director Collin D'Cunha shared his enthusiasm for helming this project, saying, "Directing The Intouchables adaptation is an incredible honour for me as a filmmaker. The original film left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide, and I am honoured to have the opportunity to bring this story to life for Indian viewers. Working with Karan Johar, Guneet Monga, and the entire team is something I’m greatly excited for and looking forward to”.

Concluding their thoughts, Achin Jain, COO and producer, of Sikhya Entertainment, said, “To be adapting this iconic film that has already found such immense love and acclaim internationally is definitely a huge leap forward in our alliance. We are eager to bring this heartwarming dramedy to India”. ALSO READ: Dharma Productions shares BTS photos as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai approaches 25th anniversary; see post

Director Nitesh Tiwari and his team for the proposed Ramayan adaptation are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a faithful and controversy-free end-product that would leave the audience completely happy and satiated.

A source in the know told this writer that the cast is being tutored into a “self-restrained lifestyle” during the shooting. “While Sai Pallavi, who will play Sita, has a very clean controversy-free image, Ranbir Kapoor is a bit more, shall we say, colourful in his conduct. Not quite the wild child, but he is certainly no Sri Rama in his personal life,” a source observed and revealed the producers and director Nitesh Tiwari’s game plan.

“While the film will be shot, Ranbir will abstain completely from drinking and eating meat. These are not things he would avoid just for his public image, but also as a dedicated actor Ranbir wants to feel as pure and clean as Sri Rama. In any case, Ranbir is not into late nights and wild parties,” added the source.

The Archies is set in a magical world inspired by the comic books we grew up with. It’s fresh and exciting and Netflix has only just scratched the surface with the first song, ‘Sunoh’ from the film. The movie is set in the 1960s in a picturesque hill station called Riverdale, tells the story of a group of Anglo-Indian teenagers and is directed by Zoya Akhtar.

The Archies is an adaptation of the globally famous Archie Comics IP. Through this film, the audience will get to enter the world of the comics.

The first song of The Archies called ‘Sunoh’ was launched at the Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest. Apart from filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the event was also graced by the ensemble cast of the film including Agastya Nanda, Dot (Aditi Saigal), Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina.

Riverdale, which was seen in the song, is right out of a dream and an absolute pleasure to the eyes could well be like Shimla, Ooty, Mccluskieganj and Landour of the 1960s.

‘Sunoh’ sees Suhana Khan effortlessly display her skating skills. During the launch of the song, she spoke about the training she and others went through before the film went on floors. “We started training 5 or 6 months before we actually started filming. I know you said it (skating scenes) looks very breezy in the song, but I'm lucky you didn't see us fall and bump into each other, that was far from effortless. But yeah, it was a lot of fun. I loved every moment of it, even all the falling. I fell a lot, but I didn’t hurt myself luckily,” she said.

Agastya plays a music aficionado in the film. Sharing about his preparations, he added, “I had to learn how to play the guitar. I had to learn how to sing. Learning to sing and how to play the guitar was a great learning experience. It isn’t easy. Piano is a problem as I have thick fingers. So, I keep hitting two or three notes at the same time. But the guitar is fun and adds to the fun at the parties if you play it with your friends.”

The Archies is all set to stream on Netflix from December 7.

Bollywood Hungama, the prominent entertainment platform in India, has launched its two-day OTT India Fest in Mumbai. The festival included a wide range of activities such as panel discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, workshops, and an award ceremony celebrating talents in the OTT entertainment sector. The inaugural day of the fest began with an insightful panel discussion on the growing OTT landscape in India, involving key experts and influencers from the industry. During a session, Bollywood actress Richa Chadha and Sanya Malhotra urged for sex education in India.

During the sessions, Richa Chadha addressed a vital issue associated with OTT content, stating, “If porn is a problem, then you are offering free data to a country that doesn’t have sex education, what’s going to happen.”

She further added, “I feel this is the problem that there is an overstimulated culture.” The actress also said, “I don’t know if we need sex censorship as much as we need sex education. First of all, we need for the country to be okay to talk about sex because its not like its not happening and its not like it will go away. Its not going to go away. That’s how we got here.”

Sanya Malhotra concurred with Richa’s perspective, emphasizing the importance of fostering sex education as opposed to excessive censorship. She said, “I think as Richa said, this country needs more sex education than sex censorship and we are not doing something that is not already out there. There are Hollywood movies and international film which are already there on OTT and for people to consume. But I also truly believe if a script doesn’t require it, because sometimes people also use it like, ‘Oh this worked in the other film, so we should put this in our film too,’ even if its not fit for the character or for the story, just as a selling point. That shouldn’t happen.”

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest, in association with Cinema Waale Film and Television Productions LLP and Across Media Solutions, held on the 18th & 19th of October 2023 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai were Presented by Sonata Poze, powered by TVS Jupiter and Kheloyar, Driven-by JK Tyre Blaze Rydr, alongside Matchmaking partner Bharat Matrimony, Stylish Audio partner Skullcandy, Banking partner Bank of Baroda, Healthcare partner Fujifilm Healthcare, True Chocolate partner Smoor, Astrology partner Astroyogi, Wellness Partner HCG hospitals, Cricketing Partner Metashot in association with Festival partners Satvik, Snacking partner Special Choice, Outdoor partner Bright Outdoor Media, Radio partner Radio City, and celebration partners Johnnie Walker and Heineken Silver.

Ganapath – A Hero Is Born, starring Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan, is all set to release in cinemas tomorrow, that is, October 20. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to director Vikas Bahl about the film and a lot more.

Since the time you debuted as a director, you have never repeated a genre. How do you manage to do so? Not many filmmakers could achieve this feat… Maybe, I just like different kinds of stories. While doing so, you have to break the genre. I think it’s a constant learning curve. When you are switching genres, you are always nervous as to whether or not you can pull it off. I like that nervousness. Maybe, the student inside me wants to constantly keep learning how to try new genres. When I was doing this film or even the next one (a horror), I used to sit for hours on YouTube and watch videos on how these films are made and how these genres are done. So, it was almost like going back to school. That’s exciting for me. I don’t want to get into a comfort zone that ‘this is my genre, this is what I want to do for the next 10-15 years.’ I’d rather try new things.

How difficult was it to get the futuristic element right, especially for a Hindi film considering that we don’t have many reference points in our cinema? More than just about the future, I was trying to pen a story that any calamity in the world leads to inequality in the sense that the rich get richer as they benefit from it. But the poor get poorer. This happens during any catastrophe, whether man-made or a natural disaster. This is the basic premise of the film. Since it is based on the hypothetical situation of the next biggest calamity that happens on the planet, I had to set it in the future because it couldn’t happen earlier. Hence, the idea was not just to make a futuristic story.

Years ago, Shekhar Kapur attempted a film called Paani. It was also set in the future and was about the water crisis. Were you inspired by its plot maybe at the back of your mind? Shekhar sir is too senior and I think too brilliant (smiles). I don’t know much about Paani. I know about it just as anybody else knows. But I am sure he would have made an unbelievable spectacle. Even if I am remotely close to what we set out to do, I think I’d be good!

You became a force to reckon with, with Queen (2014). The same year, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon debuted with Heropanti (2014) and became overnight stars. How was it to collaborate with two fellow artists for whom 2014 was also a defining year? Now that you told me and I realize it, it feels good (laughs)! I don’t think any of us thought about it. We never sat and discussed this connection.

Tiger Shroff is not seen doing typical action in the film. Kriti Sanon, meanwhile, is attempting action for the first time. How exciting was it for you and them as well? Yes. The good thing about Ganapath and hopefully it’ll also be a surprise for the audience is that Tiger is just not doing action in the film. He has done a lot of humourous, emotional and dramatic scenes. He has a big character arc. Action is the base of it but is not the primary characteristic. I always found him very innocent. He has his own little world of action, exercises and workouts. I loved that innocence. I wanted him for his innocence as much as I wanted him for his action. Even though I had never worked with him or even met him before, I was correct about how he is.

As for Kriti, she’s a great actor. She has a lot of action in the film and has done a great job. She has this ability that she can pierce through your eyes and deliver the dialogue. She’s also tall and looks absolutely convincing while taking on the goons.

You worked with Amitabh Bachchan, first in Goodbye (2022) and now Ganapath. It must have been a high, wasn’t it? Everyday, he walks on the set, you have to pinch yourself that he knows me and he knows my name, forget the fact that he’s in my film. He was extremely generous. He knew I was trying to put up a film like Ganapath together. He knew it was ambitious. He saw the art and mood boards and told me, ‘Vikas, if I can help you make this film in any way, tell me’. I pounced on the opportunity and told him, ‘Sir, ek role karenge mere liye’! He did it purely out of love. He said, ‘Anything for you. Just go and make this film’.

The film’s post-production took a year. There are a lot of green-screen shots. And this is your most VFX-heavy film. Please tell us about your experience… It has been a phenomenal learning experience when it comes to VFX. I just hope that everyone supports this fact. When you are doing it for the first time, you are just learning. You are not a master at the craft. I remember for days, I used to see making videos of S S Rajamouli’s films. I used to understand how he used to use the green screen and used to check out the ‘before VFX’ and ‘after VFX’ shots. I also used to watch Sukumar sir’s making videos. It’s almost like a tutorial put up on YouTube. By now, the fear of VFX has gone away. Now we can write stories without any boundaries. You can imagine anything and you can pull it off on the screen.

Earlier, Ganapath – A Hero Is Born was called Ganapath – Part 1. Is a sequel in the pipeline? It’s still part 1. We just decided to call it ‘A Hero Is Born’. There’s the intention of doing a sequel. We hope it’s received well and people love it because this is the start of the journey of the protagonist.

Will the sequel be called Ganapath – A Hero Rules? After you watch the film, why don’t you send me the title of the sequel? (laughs)

This is the age of sequels. Would you like to make a sequel to Queen? We would love to know what happened to Rani (Kangana Ranaut) and what she’s doing 10 years after the events of the first film… Queen 2 is always a very tempting option. But the temptation should be that we find a great story to tell and not just exploit the commercial benefit out of it. I really hope we crack the story for the sequel so that I can make Queen 2. I would love to do that.

Sunny Deol has, over the decades, become a specialist in the action genre. He is considered a master when it comes to delivering powerful punches and kicks to the baddies. He has also been someone who has acted in films where a villain or a group of villains are Pakistanis. He acquired this image after the stupendous success of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and continued the same with Indian, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Hero: Love Story Of A Spy, Jaal: The Trap, etc. Just earlier this year, he revived that image with the blockbuster success of Gadar 2.

In other words, Sunny came to be known as Pakistan’s onscreen nemesis. But what if we tell you that after starring in a series of anti-Pakistan films, Sunny went onto play a proud Pakistani Army officer in a movie? Let’s have a look at this lesser-known aspect about him on his 66th birthday, which is today.

Punjabi filmmaker Amitoj Maan came up with his second Hindi film called Kaafila in 2007. The movie was based on the issue of illegal immigrants. It told the story of a group of Indians eager to relocate to England but are unable to get visas due to some reason or the other. As it is very important for them to get to the European country, they decide to become illegal immigrants.

Surprisingly, in this 2 hour 27 minute movie, Sunny Deol makes an entry after almost an hour. Before that, Kaafila focuses on the Indian travellers, including a Sikh gentleman played by Sudesh Berry and others. They manage to contact people who are experts in trafficking humans illegally to foreign lands. As per the plan of the traffickers, the group of Indians enter Russia and from there they are to reach England after passing through a few other countries.

But they meet one obstacle after the another and there comes a time when even their lives are in danger. This is when Sunny Deol walks into the picture and becomes their saviour. He introduces himself as Sameer, an expert in trafficking people to foreign countries. He knows all the tricks on how to hoodwink the authorities of various countries.

And since he is Sunny Deol, he is also an expert fighter who also knows how to use different types of weapons like a walk in the park. Hence, the film has a number of scenes where he either beats up people or shoots the dead, as he helps the group of immigrants enter England.

After a lot of twists and turns (and a few deaths), the group of Indians realize that there is no point in migrating to another country. They are suddenly enlightened on how they can lead good lives even while staying in India. So, Sunny then helps them return to India. For that, they land in Afghanistan and then Pakistan.

Once the Indian ensemble reaches Pakistan, they realize that Sunny is a Pakistani Army officer Sameer Ahmed Khan. He had gone underground due to some reason. He firmly raises the slogan ‘Pakistan Paindabad’ (may Pakistan live forever), but at the same time doesn’t consider any difference between Indians and Pakistanis. In the end, he happily helps the group of Indians return to their homeland.

Kaafila also starred two Pakistani actresses in the form of Sana Nawaz and Sara Loren. The latter was also seen in Bollywood films like Murder 3, Barkhaa, Fraud Saiyyan, etc.

Kaafila also has a funny Border connection. The 1997 JP Dutta movie saw Sunny play an angry Sardar who shouts at Sudesh Berry’s character Mathuradas at a crucial point in the film. In Kaafila, Berry plays a Sardar, who angrily screams at Sunny.

If not anything else, Kaafila helped Mathuradas avenge his decade-old insult.

Bollywood Hungama has launched the 'OTT India Fest' in Mumbai, a two-day event celebrating the OTT entertainment sector. The fest features a diverse program of activities, such as panel discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, workshops, and an awards ceremony honouring OTT talents. The event's first day started with an informative panel discussion, where industry experts explored India's growing OTT landscape. During the discussion, filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari expressed the desire to remake the Netflix show, Maid.

For the unversed, the panel discussion, titled What’s In The Genre?, delved into the success of dominant OTT genres, including thrillers, relatable people-next-door stories, and small-town narratives. The panel featured industry experts such as Tanya Bami from Netflix, actors Gulshan Devaiah, Radhika Madan, Gauhar Khan, Rasika Dugal, and director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, with Mayank Shekhar serving as the moderator. Together, they explore the factors that contribute to the popularity of these genres on streaming platforms.

While concluding the discussion, the panellists were asked to name the last show they watched and would recommend to the audience. Responding to the same, Ashwiny asserted, “I am watching this series called The Burning Man right now. I think it’s really nice. Then I watched Maid. I think I really want to remake it. I liked that show.”

Maid is a ten-episode series on Netflix.

PERMANENT ROOMMATES SEASON 3 is the story of a couple going through a crisis. Mikesh Chaudhary (Sumeet Vyas) and Tanya Nagpal (Nidhi Singh) stay together as ‘permanent roommates’ in Mumbai. Life is going well until Tanya learns that her colleague Shraddha (Sapna Bhatt) is off to Germany. Tanya realizes that she’s bored of her monotonous life in India and wants to move abroad. Mikesh, however, is content with his life in India. He fails to see Tanya’s point and she gets enraged. He tries an idea suggested by Tanya’s father Brijmohan (Shishir Sharma). But it backfires and it further convinces Tanya that she needs to go to foreign land. Mikesh and Tanya begin the process. On top of it, Mikesh’s mother Lata (Sheeba Chadha) comes to stay with them. Lata, who is still grieving due to the demise of her husband Mohan (Darshan Jariwala), meets widower Venkat (Sachin Pilgaonkar) and they strike a friendship. What happens next forms the rest of the series.

Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava’s story is relatable and modern. Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava’s screenplay is uncomplicated and replete with very interesting and cute moments. The writers deserve brownie points as even the most ordinary moments have some sort of laughter or drama in them. Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava’s dialogues are one of the highpoints. The one-liners bring the house down and it’s after a long time that viewers will get to see such dialogues in a show.

Shreyansh Pandey’s direction is terrific. He had a lot of challenge in hand since the PERMANENT ROOMMATES series has a huge recall value. For many Indians, it was probably the first web series that they saw in their lives. The characters of Mikesh and Tanya are etched in their minds. The director perfectly understands the world of this series and takes it forward. He adds lots of entertainment with several scenes bringing the house down. In the last two episodes, he switches gears and adds teary-eyed moments. But the common factor in funny and emotional sequences are that they are all straight out of life. Another USP of the show is that unlike the trend nowadays of having 8-10 episodes of 40-50 minutes each, PERMANENT ROOMMATES SEASON 3 is only 5 episodes long. It’s total run time is less than 3 hours.

On the flipside, a few developments are difficult to digest. The parents of Tanya get a raw deal. Tanya getting friendly with Pranav (Ambrish Verma) seems unconvincing especially after Mikesh warned her about him. The last scene is cute but some might have reservations about it.

Speaking of performances, Sumeet Vyas rocks the show. This was his breakout role and yet again, he gets into the skin of the character flawlessly. Nidhi Singh is outstanding. She nails in the scenes where she has to get angry. However, watch out for her in the last two episodes. Sheeba Chadha is adorable and adds a lot to the season. Deepak Kumar Mishra (Purushottam) is the soul of the show. His mere presence will make viewers laugh. Shishir Sharma leaves a mark. Ayesha Raza Mishra (Ila) is hardly there. Sachin Pilgaonkar is lovely. Ambrish Verma puts up a confident act. Anandeshwar Dwivedi (Lleo) is too funny.

The songs are forgettable. But Rohan Rohan’s background score is well-woven into the narrative. Nikhil Arolkar’s cinematography is neat. Sheena Saini’s production design is realistic. Kevin Mathews’ costumes are glamorous but don’t look out of place. Gourav Gopal Jha’s editing is sharp.

On the whole, PERMANENT ROOMMATES SEASON 3 fulfills all expectations and turns out to be an extremely funny and moving season. Thanks to the tremendous recall value and popularity of the series, this new season can emerge as one of the most watched shows of 2023.

In the glamorous world of Bollywood, fashion is about more than just clothing. It's a way for celebrities to express themselves and make a statement. Sometimes, it can lead to a situation where two famous actresses end up wearing very similar outfits, which we call a "Bollywood Fashion Face-Off." Even though it might be unintentional, these moments create a lot of buzz and curiosity in the world of celebrity fashion. Once more, two fashionistas, Kiara Advani and Banita Sandhu, engaged in a fashion face-off while donning a dress that had been picked up from the Gaurav Gupta’s racks.

BANITA SANDHU

Banita Sandhu has had a tremendous fashion game since she made her Bollywood debut. We always find ourselves completely mesmerised by her outfit whenever she makes a public or social appearance. Everything is audacious, brave, colourful, and new. For the podcast series The Bride Side, the actress chose a shimmering green matching set from designer Gaurav Gupta's line. Banita's ensemble featured a malachite-sculpted skirt, an embroidered top, and a dramatic taffeta cloak that gave her monochromatic attire a fashionable edge. She finished off the ensemble with an emerald drop necklace and emerald earrings. Banita opted for dewy makeup with kohl-lined eyes, sparkly eyelids, and a nude-toned lip colour while neatly braiding her hair.

KIARA ADVANI

For the cover photo shoot of Femina Magazine, Kiara wore a similar dress. She, unlike Banita, finished off her no-accessories look with a minimal amount of glam makeup. Defining the contours, using gobs of mascara, and wearing pale lip colour. Kiara also looked very lovely in her new Bangs hairstyle.

After 25 years since the release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan Johar and Salman Khan will reunite for an action entertainer which will be helmed by Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan. The film is currently in the works and the plans are set to take it on the floor by December of this year. However, Karan says that he is superstitious about certain things so he won’t confirm or deny the collaboration.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Karan shared, “I have the deepest respect for Salman and his entire family. My father was very close to Salim Saab (Salim Khan). The fact that Salman said yes to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has never left my heart. All I can say at this moment is that the relationship will hopefully find celluloid space very soon. I am not confirming it, nor am I denying it as I am superstitious about certain things. I will speak about it when the time is right.”

Salman Khan had made a special appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji. For the part of Aman, a lot of actors had refused the role.  Karan revealed “A lot of actors had said no for the part of Aman. And then, I met Salman at Chunky Panday’s party. He came to me and said, ‘Only an absolutely confident person will do this film, and I am that person.’ I went to narrate the film, and at the end of the first half he said ‘I am doing the film’. I was like, ‘But you come in the second half’, he went to say, ‘I don’t care, I know where it’s going. I really like your dad; I like your energy and am doing your film.’ I walked out and was like Salman Khan is doing the film. I told Adi that this film has got really big now as we already had Shah Rukh, Kajol, and Rani.”

As per a previous report in the same portal, it was revealed that the film is to be based on one of the most heroic wins of India. "The script, screenplay, and dialogue draft are locked. Basic prep work is also done, and Vishnu intends to dive completely into the world of this war-based action thriller in October. The team is targeting to start the film with a brief schedule in the first half of December and then reunite for a marathon shoot in January," the source informed.

"Salman is committed to getting in the shape to play a paramilitary officer. He is hitting the gym daily and following a strict diet," the source added. With less than two months left for the release of Animal, the anticipation is through the roof for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film sees Bobby Deol in an antagonist role. Interestingly in the teaser of the movie, viewers got a glimpse of his character for a brief moment towards the end. But theories on the internet say that his character is cannibalistic. So what does Bobby has to say about it?

Talking about Animal at the Jagran Film Festival, Bobby said, “I was really lucky that I got to be a part of Animal, I have loved Sandeep’s work. He is the only director who has made the same film twice and succeeded both the times. I want to do different characters and as I have said before, I want to break my image, get challenged and be very uncomfortable as an actor."

He also talked about the teaser and added, “When I did that shot, I didn’t even see the monitor. We were in a hurry to finish that moment. I saw the shot for the first time when I saw the teaser and I was like, ‘What? This is me!’ I am so glad about the response I have got for this one shot. It just shows that the audience wants to see me in something different. They want to know what I am doing in that shot– I can’t tell you that, but I am definitely eating something.”

Animal boasts talents including Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, ensuring a visual and emotional treat for all movie enthusiasts.

Animal is produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar's T-Series, Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures. The film will be released worldwide on December 1, 2023 in 5 languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Actor Kirti Kulhari is set to go international with her latest feature Sach is Life. The slice-of-life film, based on the extraordinary true events of an Indian immigrant family based out of the US, will mark Kirti's international debut. Written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar, Sach is Life is based on the original life story of the Munshi family. The film is produced by Romila Saraf Bhat, Rahul Bhat, Red Bison Productions located in Princeton, New Jersey.

According to the makers, Sach is Life narrates the compelling tale of a devoted couple who remain united in their determination to provide their three-year-old son, diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a life that he deserves. Kirti Kulhari, who plays the role of the mother, Daisy Munshi, said she is thrilled to star in the film and feels special that Sach is Life marks her international debut.

The actor—known for her powerful performances in projects like Four More Shots Please!, Criminal Justice, Pink and Human—said Sach is Life chronicles a story of rising above one's circumstances to unleash the "power of unconditional love, celebrate human spirit and to always hold on to that little thing called hope".

"The makers are from the US but it's an Indian story. I'm extremely excited to collaborate with a crew from the US and to work in an environment outside of India. I'll do my best to make it a film that we all are going to be proud of," Kirti said in a statement.

Sach is Life is gearing to go on floors next year around April. The film will be shot in Kashmir, New Delhi, New Orleans, New Jersey and New York. Kirti said she's currently in New York and has been prepping for the film for the last two to three months.

"I was in Houston, Texas in August where my writer-director lives. We met up a few times. We started going through the script scene by scene, totally going into the depths of every scene and getting to know the characters and the tone of the film."

Before Sach is Life goes on floors, Kirti said the plan is to "extensively workshop" and relentlessly work on the script, to bring the inspiring story to life. As part of the prep, she is also scheduled to meet Daisy Munshi, whose character she is set to portray.

"This is also the first time I am playing a real-life character. The family lives in Albany. We are meeting the whole family, especially Daisy ji whose character I am playing and her son, Sachin Munshi. That's a big part of the prep that I am really looking forward to. I think it will give me a lot of understanding of her story.

"I will also get to understand her personality, just by observing her, her mannerisms. It's a very challenging, tough, intense role and I know that the only way I can do this is by going all in," she added.

Sach is Life also co-stars actor Jim Sarbh. Further details about the film are awaited.

Over the last 13 years, Colors’ stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi has entertained audiences by showcasing the journeys of daredevils from different walks of life. Hosted by Rohit Shetty, the 13th edition of the show has concluded after capturing a rollercoaster ride of emotions, entertainment, and adventures. After a life-altering journey, daredevil contestant, Dino James won the game-changing season whereas Arjit Taneja and Aishwarya Sharma stood as the first and second runners-up respectively, giving the winner a tough fight. The grand finale of the 13th season took the entertainment quotient of television to its zenith with adrenaline-inducing stunts, glamour, games, performances, and hilarious moments.

Talking about his win, Dino James said, “Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 came into my life as a blessing and I’m grateful to have had such an amazing time on this iconic show.  I value the appreciation I got from Rohit sir and the opportunity to be bigger than my fears. I never imagined I had the capacity to become this evolved version of myself. The friendships I formed on this show were totally unexpected but precious. I dedicate my victory to my fans, who have been super supportive, and I’m touched that their love has come my way in abundance. I want to thank COLORS and the creators of this incredible show that marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life.”

As he navigated his way to victory, Dino James performed a total number of 16 stunts and won nine of them. He established himself as a formidable competitor at the outset of the season. He was everyone’s favourite stunt partner because he built credibility as a daredevil, who could pull off stunts impeccably. Apart from performing stunts to perfection, Dino entertained the contestants and the viewers by whipping out spontaneous raps. Host Rohit Shetty appreciated the rapper for being fearless not only while performing stunts, but also as he voiced his opinion when it mattered.

Commenting on the season and the contestant’s victory, Host Rohit Shetty said, “Each year, we harness our creative energies in crafting unprecedented and innovative challenges for our contestants and spiking up the fear factor of the show. In this edition, every participant showed courage in the most unexpected moments. Congratulations to Dino James for not only winning the trophy but also for winning viewers' hearts. I believe he is the most genuine and fearless contestant we've had this season. This edition would not have been a success without our base of ardent fans and viewers. I thank them for their constant love and support."

Deepak Dhar, Founder & Group CEO, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said, “What a nail-biting thrill it was to have a season packed with terrifying stunts, adventures, and non-stop action! Ganapath - A Hero Is Born is all set to release in cinemas on October 20. With the release less than a week away, trade experts told Bollywood Hungama why they are excitedly looking forward to the Tiger Shroff-Kriti Sanon-Amitabh Bachchan starrer, set in the future.

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi said, “What I like about the trailer is that it’s a movie which is playing to Tiger Shroff’s strength, which is his ability to do great action and martial arts on screen. And it’s also unlike his previous action films, be it the films of Baaghi or Heropanti series. There seems to be a novelty in storytelling. There’s a new universe and more value is added rather than just relying on Tiger Shroff’s ability to do great martial arts.”

While stating that “Tiger Shroff is an absolute mass hero,” Akshaye Rathi added, “The storyline of this film and the scale seems like it’s catering to a mass audience. Here’s hoping the aam junta of the country is impressed by the film.”

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh noted, “Tiger Shroff is extremely hardworking. At the same time, the film has a very striking star cast in the form of Amitabh Bachchan and Kriti Sanon besides Tiger.”

Kriti Sanon’s badass character has its share of admirers. Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, opined, “What stood out for me in Ganapath’s trailer was Kriti’s action avatar. She seems quite convincing.”

Akshaye Rathi agreed, “Kriti has a very interesting screen presence. She made her debut with Tiger Shroff which was also an action movie - Heropanti (2014). With the shots we have seen in the trailer, I think her presence will make for an interesting watch.”

Taran Adarsh made a valid point, “Kriti is looking very good. We usually associate action films with male stars or heroes fighting the villain. But why not have women fighting the baddies? That adds so much novelty and uniqueness to the film.”

And of course, Amitabh Bachchan’s casting adds to the impact, feel experts. Akshaye Rathi opined, “Mr Bachchan’s very presence takes the film’s stature up by many notches.” Girish Johar added, “Personally, I am a fan of Amitabh Bachchan sir. Every outing of his is eagerly awaited.”

This year, mass action entertainers like Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Jawan emerged as Rs. 500 crore grossers. Hence, a lot is expected from Ganapath - A Hero Is Born. Taran Adarsh said, “Mass films have worked this year. I genuinely hope that a film like Ganapath also follows suit.”

He further said, “Ganapath - A Hero Is Born is set in the future in the year 2070 AD. The film has a very unique concept and Vikas Bahl is a good director. He’s not one of the usual masala directors. So, hopefully, he has made a film which stands out.”

Girish Johar remarked, “Films like Ganapath, which are hard-core action entertainers, should cater to the latest trend of mass films doing well in cinemas. It’s upto the audience now. Hopefully, if the makers pump up the promotions and go all out, it’ll grab even more eyeballs.”

Meanwhile, the makers are geared up not just for Ganapath - A Hero Is Born but also for its possible sequel. Taran Adarsh spills the beans, “This film is made in two parts. This is the first part. They have shot some portions of the second part. The shoot will be completed once the first part gets released.”

Bringing together a set of not just amazing actors but also strong women is the debut production of Taapsee Pannu. Being a feminist herself, Taapsee has put together an unlikely cast with Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi in Dhak Dhak, a film about self-discovery. It features the four women setting out on a bike road trip to the hilly regions of Ladakh and Dia, in a candid interview, revealed that it wasn’t an easy task.

In fact, Dia Mirza revealed that the entire team including the cast had to face some challenges owing to the weather and climactic conditions in the region, amid which Fatima Sana Shaikh also experienced epileptic attacks. However, Dia went on to assert that she was impressed with Fatima’s dedication towards the craft. “The oxygen was thin, the routes were hard and Fatty had a few situations where she had an epileptic attack. But within seconds, she got up and did one of the most dramatic and significant scenes in the film. I’ve sobbed not because she’s a brilliant performer but looking at her sheer commitment as an artist," Dia to News18 Showsha.

She continued speaking about the issues they experienced while riding their bikes, as she added, “On a normal day, just as a rider, it’s hard enough. Imagine travelling with a crew strength of 200 people and caring for them! We had all kinds of sickness happening because the oxygen levels were low after a certain point. There were extraordinary challenges.” However, she concluded on a happy note as she stated, “But we ate hot food and got access to everything we needed to be strong, comfortable, and happy."

Dhak Dhak revolves around the story of four ordinary women who set out on an extraordinary journey to the highest motor-able road in the world. Directed by Tarun Dedeja, the film is slated for release on October 13, 2023.

The situation in Israel is quite sensitive and the sudden attack of the Hamas terrorist group has taken lives of many innocents. Among them was also Madhura Naik’s family members. The Naagin actress had taken to social media to pass on the message of supporting Israel, after her sister and brother-in-law along with their kids were shot dead in their car during the attacks. In a recent interaction, the popular television star also revealed that about 300 of her family members are stuck there.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the bereaved actress opened up about the Israel attacks and revealed about the bodies of her family members were found after they were reported missing. "My family informed me about them missing, and only after 24 hours were their bodies identified. Their children in the car along with them, were taken back by the officers on duty," says the grieving actress.

For the unversed, Madhura Naik is born to a Hindu father and Israeli mother. She further went on to react to the kind of hatred she received after sharing a video of asking everyone to support Israel in these tough times, and added, "The situation unfortunately has always been like this in Israel, we have always faced a lot of such situations. My family is worried about how things are going to escalate. I felt it is necessary to talk about it in my social media post. I cannot reveal where I am right now, due to security reasons, neither can I tell you which members are stuck in Israel. I have just been getting a lot of communal hate after my post, and it is shocking that people are failing to empathise with innocent lives. They fail to understand that it is the innocent civilians who die. This is a terror attack, same like what happened in Mumbai, 26/11.”

She concluded by adding that she is currently keeping everything including her current residence confidential owing to security reasons.

Designers Paras and Shalini of ‘Geisha Designs’ are known for their ultra-glam creations each season. Their cocktail and evening wear 2024 collection called “Profusion” at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, unveiled textures that will enchant the Indian and global buyers.  The ‘Geisha Designs’ label launched in 2001 retails from 200 high end stores across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, USA, Europe, and South Africa as they have mastered the art of re-creating traditional Indian silhouettes that reflect old world romantic looks.

The “Profusion” collection was a harmonic tapestry of nature’s symphony of clothes that would fit the requirements of not only festive couture but also occasion wear and luxury resort creations. The inspiration was the multitude of colours seen in crystallised stones. So, there was a palette of fuchsia, jade, aqua, blush, pale blue, deep blue, and lilac that was sprinkled through the collection. There was a kaleidoscopic, poetic merger between the vibrant tones and the many textures for the ensembles. It was an amazing concept that projected a perfect harmony of hues that turned into a fashionable symphony when icy cool blue shades moved in unison with the brilliance of metallic designs.

The “Profusion” collection had a creative fashion stanza of sheer poetry, which was in the language of threads, beads and intricate designs as the ensembles proved to be a bouquet of stylish dreams. There was marked evidence of delicate embroidery, striking textures vibrant motifs and immaculate construction. The silhouettes moved seamlessly from modern reinterpretations of drapes that at times offered a new twist of inspiration for the traditional sari. Evening wear moved from lush creations with intricate embellishments, to creatively constructed ensembles with just the right amount of elegance.  The one-shouldered gown with an ornate bodice flowed into a dramatic sheer floor sweeping ensemble, while the swirls of the embroidery caressed and flowed down the will-power evening gown.

In a beautiful co-ord ensemble that shimmered and captivated the eye, Alaya F dazzled the audience as the showstopper for Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini at Lakme Fashion Week 2023. She made a bold statement as she became the star of Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini's runway appearance at Lakme Fashion Week by showcasing her boss lady flair. Veteran actress Ratna Pathak Shah, who is promoting her upcoming film Dhak Dhak, recently spoke about the lack of senior female actors in the film industry and how it made her feel that this career had a shelf life. In a conversation recently, she talked about how they felicitated someone as senior as Waheeda Rehman with a prestigious award but she doesn’t get the offers she deserves.

Waheeda Rehman, who was last seen in The Song of Scorpion, was recently felicitated with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In a conversation with Film Companion, Ratna Pathak Shah said, “When I see a Meryl Streep and a Helen Mirren, I feel if they can do it, so can I. And I'm sorry that a Waheeda Rehman in our country doesn't get the parts that she deserves. What a fabulous woman, and what a fabulous actress she is! All they want to do is give her a little award and stick her in one corner. Really? Give her a good role for Christ's sake. Keep the award.”

Ratna Pathak added, “All of us have had to come to terms with the way we look. And the fact that your body is changing. And if I don't want to fiddle with it too much, I need to accept what I am. The most revealing thing to me, as stupid as it seems considering who my mother was (Dina Pathak), that I thought acting has a shelf life, as a woman. That I'll act until I'm pretty, and then I'll do something else. I can't imagine I thought like that, but I did.”

Meanwhile, Dhak Dhak releases in cinemas on Friday, October 13. ALSO READ: Dhak Dhak Trailer: Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi and Fatima Sana Shaikh embark on a biking expedition to Khardung La, watch

When he left his job in a private company in Kolkata to go to Mumbai to become a film actor, Amitabh Bachchan took his driver’s licence along in case he needed to forget his celluloid dreams and come down-to-earth to make a living driving a taxi.

Today 54 years after he made his acting debut in K.A. Abbas’ Saat Hindustani, Mr Bachchan is regarded as the single-most influential star-actor of the Indian cinema.

If his Angry Young Man persona revolutionized the image of the Hindi film hero in the 1970s and 80s, his miraculous makeover in the new millennium as the host of India’s most avidly watched television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati and as the seasoned trouper in Yash Chopra’s Mohabbatein, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Aks, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black, Shoojit Sircar’s Piku, and Aniruddha Bhattacharya’s Pink has left all cynics and disbelievers agape.

Looking back on his career we see the Allahabad-born Amitabh Bachchan’s sustained and unparalleled superstardom as a triumph of gentlemanly intelligence over the habitual games of one-upmanship that are played in the film industry.

Being the son of the distinguished poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, how did the Superstar adjust to the crude and often deleterious atmosphere of showbiz?

Here’s what he had to say in a past interview to this writer: “Once I decided to be part of the acting profession and accepted that one has occasionally to behave in an outlandish fashion for the camera, I tried to overcome my inhibitions. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about it all when I entered the profession. I went back to my father in Delhi and told him about my reservations. He said, ‘Well you must follow Balraj Sahni’s pattern of working. He was in the film industry and yet outside it’. Balraj ji and my father were very good friends. I realized there was no point in getting disturbed by the dichotomies that existed not only in the acting profession but in all walks of life.”

Having spent most of his adult life in the film industry, Bachchan Saab had only words of appreciation for the industry. “I’m proud to say most of my friends are from the film industry and I enjoy their company. The film industry is a wonderful place. It has given me no reason to feel negatively about it. Everything depends on the way you conduct yourself and what you want your relationship with your profession to be. You can go berserk or stay calm and sober. It’s your choice entirely,” he once said.

About the wonderful career choices AB had said, “You are always on your own. Sometimes, you get good opportunities, not just in films but in other walks of life as well. You could be the son of a successful businessman taking up the business empire. That’s a hereditary advantage which I never had.”
