Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan recently made her Cannes Film Festival debut. At the French Riviera, the actress talked about making connections in the industry independently instead of using her father Saif Ali Khan and mother Amrita Singh’s help.

In an interview with Film Companion, Sara Ali Khan said that her mother rarely had friends in the industry. “Every relationship I have established in the film fraternity has been a very independent equation, which is very nice because I have never felt the pressure to follow through with my father’s friends or my mother’s friends,” Sara said.

She added, “She (Amrita) says, ‘Everyone has their own journey, and you should chalk out your own and this is not for me.'”

Sara Ali Khan further talked about her parents and said, “My father is a thinker, he is a bit of a planner, he is a traveller and I have inherited that from him. Mum is happy to be on her own and not explore much. My father has the need to explore, travel, eat different kinds of food, and see the whole world. Mom is the epitome of strings, she is emotionally very strong. She sleeps with a lot of peace. I don’t think I have her peace as yet. But, both of us are emotional beings at the core. She has never pretended to be somebody that she is not.”

Filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane are at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. The filmmakers have been sharing glimpses on social media. The two of them attended the premiere of the highly anticipated Martin Scorsese-directed Killers Of The Flower Moon on Saturday evening.

Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane were dressed in all black as the former shared red carpet photos of the two of them. They also shared glimpses of Scorsese from inside the premiere as the movie received a 9-minute standing ovation. Lily Gladstone, who plays an Osage woman, earned rave reviews as she fought back tears at the screening for all the cheers that came her way.

Jugal Hansraj gained fame as a child actor in the acclaimed film Masoom, displaying his natural talent and screen presence. The actor went on to portray diverse characters in diverse movies. However, there was a phase, when he had to face failure. Recently, he recalled the struggles of his initial days while stating that he was called a “jinx.”

In a conversation with the Times Of India, the Mohabbatein actor asserted, “Dealing with the failure of my movies was incredibly difficult. Not only did I face criticism from media reviewers, but they also attacked me personally. I've been called various names and labelled as a jinx. Moreover, the numerous films that never even started production led people to mock me. They would make comments like, ‘Oh it's about time Jugal attends mahurats of his own films,’ when I attended events for other movies.”

The actor-turned-author shared that in the past, he would feel deeply upset when his projects were cancelled, sometimes even resulting in tears. However, as he grew older, he became more resilient to such disappointments. When informed that a film he had signed on for was no longer happening, he would politely thank the caller and end the conversation. Over time, he developed a sense of detachment from these situations. Despite this resilience, he admitted that it can still be difficult to deal with negative feedback about his work, particularly after investing significant effort into it.

The Papa Kehte Hain actor added, “Sometimes, people take it personally, which is unnecessary. It's just a movie, and one can either like it or not without resorting to personal attacks. The industry is tough, and people can be harsh and cruel, but that's the reality one must accept when entering this field.”

He concluded by saying, “It was challenging because even the people you consider friendly or nice to you can change based on the success or failure of your movies. Some individuals only come back when things are going well. That's just how some people are, although not everyone.”

Aamir Dalvi is gearing up for his much-awaited entry into Bollywood with the film Kennedy, helmed by the critically acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. Anuradha Paudwal has been in the news for the last couple of days for heavily criticizing the trend of remixes of old songs in new Bollywood movies. In an interview with Indian Express, she specifically spoke about the remix of her song ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ from Dayavan, which was remixed in Hate Story 2, and expressed the kind of negative impact it had on her.

Paudwal has now clarified that her comments were against the remix of the song and not Arijt Singh in particular, who sung the remix along with Samira Koppikar. In a statement released, the veteran singer said, “I have always preferred the original song to a remix. Many people feel the same. My comment about ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ was about the remix, not the singer. Remixes should do justice to the original song. So many 90s songs are redone but they don’t do any justice to the original. We have also done tributes to music composers but they were done gracefully.”

She added, “I would urge (the) respectable media not to sensationalise statements. Isn’t there enough in the world to talk about? If they must, let them speak about the cause we have taken up of gifting sound to the underprivileged.”

Recalling her reaction to the remix of ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ remix, Paudwal had said, “That had happened when someone asked me to listen to this (remix) from Dayavan. That person told me it is a super-duper hit track and sent it to me. I was in tears when I heard it. I immediately switched to YouTube and heard my original song from the film multiple times. Tab jaake mere mann mein shaanti aayi (Only then I found peace).”

Gauri Pradhan, the acclaimed actress known for her role in the popular television series Kutumb, has recently shed light on the gruelling nature of her work on the show. In a candid revelation, Pradhan disclosed that she would frequently walk out of the set and engage in heated disputes with the show's scheduler due to the relentlessly intense working hours.

In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Gauri Pradhan was asked to share her perspective on Radhika Madan's comments about the difficulties of television shoots. Madan had highlighted the challenges such as limited time for scene preparation and sudden script changes. Extending her support to Radhika’s statement, Gauri asserted, “When you do a television show, even if you do one show for a long time, and then you do a movie, it’s like a cake walk. It’s like you are on holiday. It’s so easy and breezy that there is no issue.”

Pradhan further added, “I had fights every day with the scheduler. That was very common… I was known for coming on time and leaving on time. In Kutumb, I used to wear a wig for my long hair. So at 9 pm, everyone would start looking at each other because, at 9 o’clock, I would just take off the wig, give it, and leave in the middle of the shot also because if I have come on time I earn the right to leave on time.”

For the unversed, Kutumb started premiering on Sony Television back in 2001. In the daily soap, Gauri played the lead role. Meanwhile, Hiten Tejwani, her now-husband, was the male lead.

Salman Khan is not just a successful superstar but also a prominent producer and besides, he has other business interests as well. That Salman dabbles in real estate is common knowledge and today, news has come in that he’s all set to build a swanky hotel in Mumbai.

As per a report in The Times Of India, Salman Khan plans to construct a 19-storey hotel facing the sea at Carter Road, Bandra. The building plan has been approved by the BMC and work is expected to begin soon.

The plot, where the hotel will be located, once housed a residential society named Starlet. The abandoned building which stands on the plot will be demolished after which the construction will commence.

According to the article, the hotel will include three-level basements while the first and second floors would be reserved for a café and restaurant. While the third floor will have a gymnasium and swimming pool, the fourth floor will be reserved as a service floor while the fifth and sixth floors will have the convention centre. The hotel rooms will be located between the 7th and the 19th floors.

Interestingly, the plot is located 200 meters away from Freeda One, the residence of fellow superstar Aamir Khan.

The report further mentions that Salman Khan and his family had initially planned to redevelop the property into a residential building. But the plan was changed later on. The proposal was submitted to the BMC more than a year ago in the name of Salman Khan’s mother, Salma Khan, the owner of the property.

On the work front, Salman Khan recently released Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which arrived in cinemas on Eid. His next film will be Tiger 3, which will be released in theatres on Diwali 2023. Salman recently shot a scene with Shah Rukh Khan. The Pathaan (2023) star has a special massy appearance in this Maneesh Sharma-directorial.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumika Chawla said, “If I get time definitely I would love to see it in theaters,” said the actress as she heard the news of Simhadri re-release. Talking about how she would often watch her movies that rereleased, Bhumika recalled watching Okkadu (2003) starring Mahesh Babu. “I went for Okkadu when it re-released. And when Khushi re-released, I was in the US, so I couldn't attend. But I saw the reaction videos made and the euphoria that people had; it was beautiful to see,” stated the actress

Further adding about the madness she has experienced during re-release of blockbusters, Bhumika added, “It was so heart-warming that it brought a smile on my face. It is great to know that after two decades, people watch the film and the euphoria is still there.”

For the unversed, Simhadri is an action drama starring Jr NTR in the titular role along with Ankitha Jhaveri also as one of the leading ladies. The film also starred Mukesh Rishi, Nassar, Rahul Dev among others and released on July 9, 2003. It was also later remade in other languages like Kannada, Tamil, and Bengali.

It has been some time now since the announcement of Karan Johar’s next directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi the film made headlines for its casting. Ever since then in fact, there have been constant updates on the film and its progress that fans have lapped eagerly. Well, now Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the first look poster of the film is all set to be launched later this month. If what our source tells us is true, then the said poster will be launched on Karan Johar’s birthday.

“A while back Dharma Productions had released the logo of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, now the film is ready and the makers will be officially releasing the first look poster later in May. Making the launch special, especially since it will mark Karan’s return to the directorial seat, plans are being set to reveal the poster on May 25, which will coincide with the filmmaker’s birthday”, reveals the well-placed source to Bollywood Hungama. While the film still has a low way till it hits screens in July 28, Karan and Dharma Productions are busy planning a massive promotional campaign that will feature on ground activities, digital integrations, and of course social promotions. Detailing further the source adds, “The entire promotion campaign for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will start after the poster launch on May 25. So expect a grand unveiling ceremony that will also mark Karan’s 51st birthday.”

While we can’t wait for the film to release, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is said to be a romantic comedy directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film is slated to release on July 28, 2023.

Director Sooraj Barjatya was recently in the news for his 2022 acclaimed film Uunchai and also after reports emerged that he is gearing up for his next directorial, featuring Salman Khan. As per reports, this family entertainer is expected to release in cinemas on Diwali 2024. The blockbuster director, however, is not just busy with his directorial venture. He’s also focusing on the debut directorial of his son, Avnish S Barjatya. And Bollywood Hungama has stumbled upon interesting information about this film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “While it is common knowledge that Avnish Barjatya has shot for his directorial, the title hasn’t been announced yet. The film is named Dono. The makers feel that this is an apt title and goes well with the film’s storyline.”

Dono marks the debut of not just Avinsh but also Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer and producer Ashok Thakeria and actress Poonam Dhillon's daughter, Paloma Thakeria Dhillon. As per reports that emerged last year, the film is a coming-of-age love story, which explores modern relationships set against the backdrop of a lavish destination wedding. In March this year, Sunny Deol’s elder son and Rajveer’s brother Karan Deol posted a picture of him, Sunny and Rajveer on the sets of Dono in Thailand.

In March 2021, Rajshri Productions announced that they were launching Rajveer Deol in Avnish Barjatya’s film. Exactly a year ago, on May 20, 2022, Rajshri confirmed that Paloma Thakeria Dhillon is a part of this film. As per a statement released by the makers at that time, Avnish Barjatya stated, “Paloma is a powerful performer and has tremendous screen presence. She is the perfect fit for my character. Her immense work ethic and enthusiasm make it so exciting to be working with her every day. Paloma and Rajveer share great chemistry together on screen and play off each other really well. Angad Bedi's next project, A Legal Affair, is a legal drama which also stars Internet sensation, Barkha Singh. The show is produced by Jio Studios and is the official Hindi adaptation of Suspicious Partner, one of the most popular K-dramas starring Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun. The show has already been shot extensively in Delhi and Mumbai and will be released later this year. Korean dramas have found a huge audience in India and this being an official adaptation, is sure to make for a promising premise.

Angad says, “A Legal Affair is a legal drama based on a lawyer and his associate and the affair they have. It’s an intense romantic drama, a genre I haven’t dabbled in before. I did essay the role of a lawyer previously but that was a different space altogether which was based on a real life Murad case. Also, this show is an official adaptation of the K-drama, Suspicious Partner, which is already such a successful show. It’s kind of tricky since the Korean version was already a hit, so people have high expectations and it’s up to the actors and makers what more they can bring to the show.”

The show is a rom-com, directed by Karan Darra. It is the first collaboration of Barkha Singh and Angad Bedi. All the episodes of the series will be streamed online on the JioCinema app or My Jio app. The release date hasn’t been announced yet. He has allotted bulk dates to Anees Bazmee from August to December as the team is planning a start to finish schedule," revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

Shahid will have two distinct looks in the film and is looking to leave a mark with these new dimensions. "Apart from Shahid and Rashmika, a big ensemble cast will be a part of Anees Bazmee comedy and an announcement shall be made soon. Sara Ali Khan made a stunning debut at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. Dressed in an exquisite hand-woven ivory lehenga, designed by renowned celebrity fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Sara gracefully showcased her "desi" roots on the prestigious red carpet. In a heartfelt chat with Brut, Sara expressed her immense pride in her Indian heritage and the significance of representing her country on a global platform like Cannes.

Not only this, but the Love Aaj Kal actress also emphasised the importance of embracing one's "Indianness" and how it shapes her identity, especially in such international events that celebrate diverse cultures and artistic excellence. Before sharing her thoughts, Sara addressed the host by her signature “Hello and namaste.”

Speaking of her debut, the 27-year-old actress asserted, “A little bit nervous. I always aspired to be here someday. I can’t believe I am here.” Explaining her choice of wearing a lehenga at Cannes, Khan said, “It (the outfit) is traditionally Indian, handmade work. And I have always been very proud of my ‘Indianness’ and therefore it embodies who I am. I think it is fresh, modern but also traditional Indian.”

As the conversation progressed further, the Kedarnath actress was asked about the benefits that Indian celebrities working in the industry derive from participating in such international events. In her response, Sara stated, “I think, of course, global recognition and I think the world is becoming a smaller and smaller place and I think this amalgamation of cultures is beautiful. I think it is lovely that we can come here and learn so much, watch international films, and bring our personality, and our culture to you guys.”

Jennifer Mistry aka Mrs. Roshan took Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma fans by shock when she accused the producers of the Sony SAB show of mental and sexual harassment. Followed by that, another popular actor of the show, Mandar Chandwadkar, who essays the character of Mr. Bhide, denied these allegations and accused Mistry of lying. An upset actress recently revealed that she is disappointed in her best friend as he even attempted to convince her to not take action against the producers.

In an interview with ETimes, Jennifer Mistry said, “I know the production team will not speak in my favour, they will obviously support the production house. But my best friend from the show, Mandar Chandwadkar, I am disappointed with him. I've shared birthday posts for him every year on social media. He has been a close friend and I am surprised that he's saying that I don't know why Jennifer is saying all this and Taarak set is not male chauvinist. Firstly, he himself is a male, so he will never admit it. He knows every single thing that I am saying and he knows it is right. He knows point-to-point what all is happening in our life, especially mine. Sonalika Joshi, Ambika Rajankar and Mandar we are close friends. He knows each and every word of mine.”

She further went on to recall how he was the first person to call her when she sent the complaint draft to the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. “When I sent a draft of the complaint to Sohil Ramani on his WhatsApp on April 4, Mandar was the first person to call me. He called me 6 times till the next morning and sent me messages. He told me I got to know from Sohil that you are planning to file a sexual harassment case against them, why are you doing this? I asked him to stay out of it. I told him if you can't stand for me or speak the truth, stay out of it. If you can't stand with me then don't lie. I am ready to fight and stand alone. I told him categorically that don't stop me from what I am doing. He asked me to think about the show and I told him that my best wishes are with the show. I told him I am because of the show and I'm grateful for it. Gratitude is on one side and fact is on another,” she added.

She also maintained that she wouldn’t have taken his name had he not accused her of lying. “I had no interest or intention to take Mandar's name. He spoke against me and that's why I'm taking his name. Mandar has called me every five days to ask what's happening. Then why were you calling in the past few months? You knew all the developments and you never denied them. I told him during the conversation that you are aware of what happened in Singapore with me. Aren't you? He heard everything on the phone and in affirmation. Then why was he hearing the conversation? Why didn't he say then Jennifer you are lying? My other two colleagues also knew about the situation, but I don't want to take their names," she concluded.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is truly going global. After being announced as the ambassador for Gucci, the actress attended the Gucci Cruise 24 show in Seoul on Tuesday amidst much fanfare. US Ambassador Eric Garcetti, who is currently in India, recently met Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at his residence Mannat in Mumbai. Eric was seen on Tuesday having a discussion with SRK, Gauri Khan. As per his tweet, they went on to talk about the film industry and the impact of both Bollywood and Hollywood across the world.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Pathaan. The film’s collections crossed Rs. 1000 crore at the worldwide box office. It released in theatres on January 25, 2023. The film starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and it was directed by Siddharth Anand. He will also be seen in Atlee's Jawan in September 7, 2023. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Rohit Shetty cop universe is the second biggest IP of Indian Cinema at this point of time after the YRF Spy Universe. The filmmaker has got some of the biggest names of Hindi Film Industry in his Cop Universe. The cop universe started back in the day with Singham played by Ajay Devgn, followed by Simmba with Ranveer Singh and finally, Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi.

During the promotions of Cirkus, Rohit Shetty confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be the newest cop in his universe. And now, we have learnt that Rohit is planning to introduce URI actor, Vicky Kaushal as well as a cop. "Vicky Kaushal and Rohit Shetty are in talks for Singham Again for a while now and Rohit is chalking out a proper character for Vicky in Singham Again. His cop will be very different from Ranveer, who is an over-the-top character. Rohit wants to explore the heroic and macho side of Vicky in his cop universe," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Vicky and Rohit have been discussing a film for the last 3 years, much before pandemic, and it seems that the collaboration will finally happen this year with Singham Again. "Rohit is working on the script to carve a track for Vicky and is happy with the way things are moving ahead. An official paperwork shall happen once the script is locked. But Rohit is excited to work with an actor in a different space," the trade source told us further.

With this, Singham Again becomes the biggest ensemble film as the extended cast would comprise Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. Actors Ishita Dutta and Vatsal Sheth are all set to welcome their first child. The couple hosted their baby shower on Tuesday and it was an intimate ceremony with family and close friends in attendance. Ishita's older sister Tanushree Dutta and the couple's close friend Kajol were also in attendance.

Cancer Patients Aid Association has decided to organize a special concert on World No Tobacco Day, which falls on May 31. As per recent update, the association is planning a charity fundraising event with popular singer and musician Sunidhi Chauhan and a press conference has been held to announce the upcoming Sunidhi LIVE.

The press conference will be attended by the popular Singer Sunidhi Chauhan herself along with the key members of the association. Ms Anita Peter, Executive Director, Cancer patients aid association, who will be present at the event, will be making the announcement of Sunidhi Live, amidst the presence of dignitary members as well as a few cancer patients. The fundraising concert aims at raising funds to support cancer patients on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.

Talking about Sunidhi Chauhan, the singer has performed at some of the most prestigious venues across the world. Sunidhi started her career in the 90s and has sung for the biggest Bollywood blockbusters as well as worked with some of the most renowned music composers in Indian cinema. She gained massive fame for her voice in the movie Mast (1999) and went on to sing songs like ‘Mehboob Mere’ (Fiza), ‘Bumbro’ (Mission Kashmir), ‘Aa Tayar Hoja’ (Asoka), ‘Bhaage Re Mann’ (Chameli), ‘Aisa Jadoo’ (Khakee), ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ (Tees Maar Khan), ‘Beedi Jalaile’ (Omkara) among others along with winning two Filmfare and two IIFA awards among other achievements.

Anurag Kashyap’s most expensive flop ever Bombay Velvet was released on May 15, 2015. It was a costly experiment inspired by James Ellroy’s L.A Quartet featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar (playing the arch villain) that proved disastrous for all concerned.

Looking back at the experience Anurag says he should have Bombay Velvet the way his colleague Vikramaditya Motwane has made the OTT series Jubilee. “I saw Jubilee recently and seeing what Motwane has pulled off, I realised what I should have done in Bombay Velvet. Instead of being overwhelmed by the budget that I was given for the film, had I looked at as an ambitious Rs. 300 crore film that I was to make in Rs. 90 crores, I would have flourished.” Kashyap feels with a much more controlled budget he would have been in control of the venture. “It would have been a low-budget product at that cost and I would have been on the edge and would have made a multiple times stronger film.”

Comparing his Bombay Velvet to Motwane’s Jubilee Anurag Kashyap zeroes in on the quality lacking in his film. “It lacked the ambition it should have had. This is what I realised after seeing Motwane pull of ten hours of Jubilee at a lesser cost, keeping in mind the inflation.

Bombay Velvet featured Karan Johar as the Parsi antagonist media baron Kaizad Khambatta.

Anurag stands by Karan’s casting. “Karan Johar, I still maintain was a good choice. He didn’t let me down, I let him down.”

Sidharth Malhotra's Yodha release date has been the talk of the town over the last few months. The film was earlier supposed to hit the big screen in November 2022, and then got postponed to July 7 release. However, due to VFX issues, there was yet another delay as the makers announced September 15 as the new date.

And now, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Yodha will no longer release on its already announced date of September 15. "Shah Rukh Khan has announced Jawan for a September 7 release and arriving a week after a Shah Rukh Khan film in today's market is like playing with fire. Jawan is expected to be a box office tornado and will eat into the business of every film releasing around. So Karan Johar and other stakeholders of Yodha have decided to delay the film's release," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

The new release date will be decided soon, as the makers are considering several date options in October, November, and even December 1. "Exact date for Yodha will be locked in the next 2 weeks leading to its official announcement. The makers will now zero down on a date that best suits the arrival of Yodha for our audience," the trade source added.

Yodha is produced by Karan Johar and stars Sidharth Malhotra with Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna.

Shah Rukh Khan was the surprise guest at the launch of Gauri Khan’s book, ‘My Life In Design’. He also stole the show as he shared interesting anecdotes. His introduction speech was touching and even his closing statements left a lasting impression.

Towards the end of the event, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Before we walked in, she said, ‘Listen, I don’t want to be riding on the fact that I have done this big restaurant or this big house. So we’ll talk about stuff we have done internally’. This takes a lot of hard work that she puts into making sure her clients are happy. A living space or an office space is very personal. People have choices. I just like the fact that when she makes a house or a home or an office, it seems very lived-in. It doesn’t just seem sanitized or clean. There’s some warmth to it. It seems like a place where she would have liked to spend time. I have seen some of the places she designed. The kids visit these places and are like, ‘Mumma has designed this place’ or ‘Mumma’s style’.”

Shah Rukh continued, “In our family, we all do work very hard and very professionally. It’s a culture we follow in our family. But somewhere down the line, when it comes to homes and houses, it’s double the responsibility. It’s not just a film that you make and hope everybody likes. A house has to be lived in by the families there and loved to death. So it’s double the responsibility. I see her working at 3 or 4 in the morning.”

SRK signed off by saying, “Putting the four walls and ceiling is the easy part. Making it liveable and lovable is what a designer should do, that too according to the choice of the client and not just your will and fancy.”

Shah Rukh Khan was the surprise guest at the launch of his wife Gauri Khan’s book, ‘My Life In Design’. The opening speech given by Shah Rukh was loved by one and all.

Shah Rukh began by saying, “I should have had no choice but to come here. My wife is launching her book. I have to be here. But there are reasons that are more pertinent than just the book and that she is designing houses, hotels, restaurants etc. Except for the rooms in my house, she is designing everything else around the world (smiles). But still, I am a forgiving person.”

Shah Rukh Khan continued, “The book does contain a few things that I’d like to mention. I and Gauri have known each other since she was 14 and I was 18. Sometimes, when you know each other for many, many years, a sense of appreciation for each other’s work starts diminishing because you take it for granted. I have been doing what I have been doing for a long time and Gauri has played her part in the best way possible. We raised three beautiful children. She’s the wife of a movie star who became extremely popular because of the grace of God and people like Suhel (pointing at Suhel Seth, sitting in the audience)!”

SRK said, “But there was a passion that she always had. There’s a mediocre sense of creativity in our whole family, including our little 10-year-old. We do dabble with paints and music a little. Gauri was also a part of that journey. She has always been creative about things, how she would do up her space or work on her paintings. For about 23 or 24 years of our married life, we were just so busy settling down in Mumbai and getting used to the overwhelming response we got from the profession that I am in, and just to deal with it and live a normal life and raise our children that she didn’t realize that there was an aspect of her which needed to vent out. This book stands for all that. To all the youngsters and those who miss out on a dream of their life and to be creative, you can start at any age.”

Shah Rukh Khan said, “Gauri started in the mid-40s” He was interrupted by Gauri who said, “No, (I started) at the age of 40.” The audience laughed while SRK felt embarrassed. In his trademark funny style, he joked, “Gauri is 37 now! In our family, we age backwards!”

On a serious note, he continued, “At 40, she started doing this. At that time, I asked her, ‘Should I be helpful? I have some friends. We can talk to them’. She declined. She started with a 10x20 feet shop in Lower Parel. She worked it all out on her own. She is the busiest person in the house now (smiles), compared to me, my son, my daughter and my little one and my sister. We ask her, ‘What do you keep doing all day? Why do you do so much work?’. She says, ‘Because it satisfies me’. This book stands for that. You follow your dreams and do what satisfies you. The material end of it is not so important.”

SRK revealed, “We all have to have dinner together in our home. We have no choice in that. At that time, we discuss, ‘How was your day at work?’. At the end of the dinner, the discussion is, ‘It was a satisfying day’. She believes that a satisfying day is a happy day.”

In the end, Shah Rukh Khan stated, “The book can inspire people who feel that their dreams have passed them by. They can try at any age, without any formal education; she could not get (formal education) as she got married very early but still made something come out of it.”

Shah Rukh signed off by saying, “Thank you Gauri for giving us this mantra of success. I am extremely happy and satisfied that I am here when she’s launching her book!”

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma recently opted for motorcycles as an option to reach their shoot locations amid Mumbai traffic. Hours after Big B shared pictures of himself riding a bike with a stranger, Anushka Sharma was also seen sitting on the pillion seat.

Following the photos of the two stars went viral on social media, netizens pointed out that the two of them weren’t wearing helmets and reached out to Mumbai Police. Replying to a few users on Twitter, the official account wrote, “We have shared this with traffic branch.” As per the Motor Vehicle Act, pillon riders are also expected to wear helmets and are fined for flouting the rules.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Amitabh posted photos in which he was sitting on the bike. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue trousers and brown blazer with white sneakers. Sharing the photo, Amitabh captioned the post, “Thank you for the ride buddy .. don’t know you .. but you obliged and got me on time to location of work .. faster and in avoidance of the unsolvable traffic jams .. thank you capped, shorts and yellowed T-shirt owner.”

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will next star in Project K alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. It is helmed by Nag Ashwin. The actor also has Ribhu Dasgupta's courtroom drama film Section 84.

Gauri Khan launched her coffee table book ‘My Life In Design’ at a high-profile event in a five-star hotel in Mumbai on May 15. The guests present at the launch were in for a surprise when Gauri’s husband, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, also accompanied Gauri at the book launch.

Shah Rukh Khan went down memory lane as he explained how Gauri became the designer of their iconic bungalow, Mannat, as they didn’t have money to hire a designer. Shah Rukh said, “When we got the house we live in now, it was way beyond our means. Being from Delhi, one was used to living in bungalows. One did not realize that Mumbai has its own system where apartments are even more expensive. We were not used to it, not because I was very well off but it was just that everybody in Delhi seemed to have a bungalow.”

Shah Rukh Khan continued, “We used to live in the house next to Taj (the hotel where the book launch took place). It was my director’s (Aziz Mirza) house. He lent it to us and he allowed us to stay there as long as we wanted to. We did not have a lot of money. So, as soon as we mustered up some money, we decided to buy this bungalow. It was way beyond our means. But we managed to buy it, which was one thing. We had to rebuild it because it was dilapidated and kind of broken. We didn’t have money to furnish it.”

Shah Rukh Khan revealed, “We called one designer. The lunch that he served while telling us how he would design this house was way more than the salary I used to earn in a month. We were like, ‘This guy is going to charge us a lot’. So we bought this house and what do we do with it?”

The superstar then said, “I told Gauri, ‘Listen, you have little artistic talent. Why don’t you become the designer of the house?’ So, whatever money we earned over the years, we kept on buying small things. I remember we had gone to South Africa. We had little money which we used to buy the leather for the sofa. So, it took us a while and that training ground actually made her start designing. Mannat is, if I may say, a little big and for her to start doing something at such a young age without a designer helped her also to learn.”
