Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, whose Cirkus is currently running in theatres, is back on the sets of the Indian Police Force. Marking his web series debut as a director, the Prime Video series will be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra. While shooting an action sequence, the actor suffered an injury and was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad. But the filmmaker took to Instagram to inform his followers that he is doing well and is back on the set.

Rohit Shetty shared a photo with Sidharth Malhotra and Indian Police Force crew from Hyderabad. He has a white bandage on his hand and a sling. He wrote, “Another car topple... but this time with stitches on 2 fingers.... Nothing to worry about, I am absolutely fine... thank you so much for your love and concern...Shooting Indian Police force for Amazon Originals in Hyderabad @primevideoin #indianpoliceforce.”

Sidharth Malhotra shared a video asking Shetty how he was doing, “We have the OG action master here who is back on set after an unfortunate incident.” Rohit returned to the sets in less than 12 hours since the time he got injured. The actor shared the video and wrote, “A true master leads by example. We all know about @itsrohitshetty Sir’s love for action and his passion towards the stunts he directs. Last night while performing a CAR STUNT action piece HIMSELF, he met with an unfortunate accident. After a sleepless night and a minor surgery he’s back on set in less than 12 hours ????. Sir, you are an inspiration to all of us.???? Love n Respect.”

The shoot of the series is happening in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Following several reports, Rohit Shetty's spokesperson released an official statement that read, “Rohit Shetty has got some minor injury on his fingers while executing an action sequence for his upcoming web series Indian Police Force last night. The injury was immediately treated. And, he resumed his shooting shortly after the incident.”

According to sources, as previously reported by Bollywood Hungama, a huge set has been erected at the iconic Ramoji Film City for the shoot. But that’s not all. This particular schedule is so vital that the makers will be spending as much as Rs. 20 crores on it. As per Shetty’s specialization, there will be car chase sequences too, along with other high-octane action and stunt scenes.

Indian Police Force is the web series debut for both Rohit Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra. The show also stars Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty in pivotal roles. It will premiere on Prime Video India but no date is confirmed yet.

Over the years, Karan Johar has spoken about how movie budgets are distributed amongst several parties. The filmmaker and producer appeared on the Masters’ Union podcast, discussing how the budget is divided among the actors, producers, directors, and theatre owners.

Karan Johar said, “Unfortunately, the pie of it is with the movie stars, which should not be the case. It’s not that every movie star can open a film at every given point in time. But you are paying them top dollar. If it’s a big director then the divide is: 50 to the star and 30 to the director, a little more to the writer, and the producer is the last person to make the money.”

Johar also said that today's stars won’t enjoy the same kind of stardom that stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan among others enjoy. He said, “Any of our new generation of movie stars can’t have the aura and magic of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Mr Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan; they were the last of the Mohicans.” He continued, “See fame and superstardom are two different things. You can be a YouTuber and be famous. But are you a superstar? Will people stop and stand in a line just because of you? That ain’t happening anymore.”

Elaborating on the distribution of the profits, Karan revealed, “In the superstars’ economics, 60-70% goes to the star. In the non-superstar economics, maybe 20, 30 and then divided by… if the director is big, then the writer, then technicians and then it gets divided equally after that.”

“It is harder to negotiate with the actors than with the distributors. Because there we are combating delusions. Delusion is one disease which has no vaccination. I can’t tell people the truth that you opened to this, this, this in the last four films, now why are you asking me for this? You ask me what you opened to. You are opening to Rs 5 crores, I should give you Rs. 5 crores,” added Karan.

He added about the delusional bit saying, “You don’t want to hurt or upset somebody, because eventually, they are stars, they come with fragile egos, they come with their management which is sometimes the bigger stars. I have a management agency of my own and I keep telling them, ‘Please, you must work for the producer and must not work for the actor.’ It’s not an unpragmatic producer, it’s someone who is giving you data and analysis, at least listen to him.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release in theatres in April this year. It stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.

In the last decade or so, Rajkummar Ro has emerged as one of the most talented actors to from Bollywood. After getting noticed in his debut Love Sex Aur Dhokha and later in Ragini MMS, he delivered a box office hit in the form of Stree. However, his last few theatrical releases haven’t done well at the ticket window.

It seems like Rajkummar has taken note of this. In an interview with Free Press Journal, the actor said that he has now decided to not do films just for friendship. “Sometimes you get emotional as they are friends and you agree to do a film for them,” he said. “But now I have decided not to do this anymore. When I am not there wholeheartedly in a project and I don’t believe in it, I feel that is not good for me and even for the film.”

Rajkummar added that it’s not easy to put in your heart and soul in a film you don’t believe in. “It’s tough and challenging and you have to put in your hundred per cent,” he said. “Because somebody is producing and putting in money into the film, there are so many others who are working hard to make that film and nobody wants to make a bad film. Everyone is trying to make a good film. So you try to contribute your best too but there are days when you realise that this can misfire. I don’t have many friends who are producers and directors.”

Rao was last seen in the Netflix film Monica, O My Darling. Directed by Vasan Bala and also starring Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte, the movie and Rajkummar’s work were well received.

Popular Television actress Tunisha Sharma died by suicide on December 24, 2022, on the sets of her show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. Currently, the investigation into her case is underway. Meanwhile, the makers of the show have already begun their hunt for a new lead. Recently, several media reports speculated that Avneet Kaur might step into the shoes of late actress Tunisha Sharma on the Sab TV show.

As numerous rumours about the same were floating on the internet, Avneet Kaur’s mother, Sonia Nandra, has finally broken her silence and put an end to the speculation for once and all. According to Avneet Kaur’s mother, she will be not replacing Tunisha Sharma. A report by Times Of India quoted Avneet’s mother saying, “Avneet will not be playing the role of Mariam in the show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. These rumours are not true.”

Several media reports have also claimed that the channel will not bring in anyone in Tunisha's place, instead, they will introduce a new female lead character. Commenting on the same, Kaur’s mother stated, “No, Avneet will not be playing any role in Alibaba, she is not part of the show.” On the other hand, it is also reported that Abhishek Nigam will be replacing Sheezan Khan in the show. However, neither the actor nor the makers have made an official announcement about the same.

Speaking of Tunisha’s suicide case, the 20-year-old actress was reportedly depressed for days prior to her death because of her breakup with co-star Sheezan Khan. The two allegedly broke up just 15 days before the actress ended her life.

Currently, Sheezan is in police custody as the late actress’ mother filed an abetment to suicide complaint against him.

In July last year, Taapsee Pannu hinted at the possibility of the sequel to her 2021 Netflix movie Haseen Dillruba. Now, Vikrant Massey, her co-star from the film, has confirmed that the second part of the movie is indeed happening and it will go on floors soon.

While answering a question about the sequel of the film at an event in IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Bombay, Vikrant said, “I am confirming that it’s coming.”

Directed by Vinil Mathew and written by Kanika Dhillon, Haseen Dillruba is a crime cum romantic drama that also stars Harshvardhan Rane in a pivotal role along with Aditya Srivastava and Dayashankar Pandey.

Sharing what one can expect from the second instalment of Haseen Dillruba, Vikrant said, “A lot of it is going to be really different. Except for me and Taapsee, there are so many new things. It’s another crazy experience. We had not kept expectations earlier too that it will be so loved, the story, the world around the story. The amount of love we got for the film we thought.”

The actor also revealed that the sequel will go on floors soon. “We had left an interesting open ending buffer for a second part and how we can do that and luckily for us the audience responded and in 15 days now I am going to start the shoot for it. Please do go and watch the film,” he added.

Vikrant has an interesting line-up of projects coming up in the form of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12^th Fail, Gaslight, where he is paired opposite Sara Ali Khan, and Sector 36.

Vidya Balan has urged families to give importance to their women’s health while highlighting that the onus doesn’t lie with women alone. She was speaking at the 65^th All India Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Kolkata on Thursday.

She said, “We keep talking about women’s health, but the onus does not lie just with her. Families need to invest in the health of their women. If we want to be a progressive and successful nation, we must invest in the health of women. A small step will go a long way.”

Elaborating further, the Kahaani actress added, “A woman derives such a large part of her identity from her body. Yet we don’t want to acknowledge the body, we don’t want to acknowledge its desire and needs. We don’t take adequate care of it. Every woman must acknowledge every part of her body and nurture it.”

While giving a small suggestion on how it can be achieved, Vidya added, “When a woman visits a gynaecologist, maybe she should insist her father, partner or son to come along. The more people see, the more they move forward and attitudes change.”

Since over a decade, Vidya has carved a niche for herself in women-centric films and achieved success. Some of these movies include, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Tumhari Sulu, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, etc. She was last seen in Jalsa last year, which also starred Shefali Shah in a pivotal role.

The source further says, “With this spy universe, YRF as a studio now has two of the biggest franchises in the history of Indian cinema including the Dhoom series. Aditya Chopra is also the maker of the most successful female cop franchise, Mardaani. Coincidentally, the YRF spy universe logo is being launched on the 10th year of the blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger’s release in 2012!“

The insider adds, “This film was the first one of the spy universe and paved the way for Adi to dream big with this universe. So, it could be YRF’s hat tip to Ek Tha Tiger. So, slowly but silently, YRF has produced a franchise that has the potential to rope in all the top stars of the country as the universe is only going to expand from here on.”

Directed by Siddharth Anand, YRF’s Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) released a statement on Friday about the anti-Bollywood sentiments and ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trends and urged the government to help. The appeal comes at a time when Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been facing controversies and protests.

FWICE wrote in the statement, “The recent trend of ‘#Boycott Bollywood’ has been affecting the producers and lakhs of workers working for the films and it has been seriously noted by the FWICE as it has raised a major situation of survival of the common workers, technicians and the artists who are earning their daily bread from this industry.”

The statement also mentioned the anti-Bollywood sentiments being spread on the internet. It said, “A film is made with passion and dream of success. However, these blooming dreams get shattered by such trends which are many times influenced by people believing in hatred and those who do not support peace, harmony and unity. People have been barging into the theatres and threatening the public and forcefully vacating the theatres. There have been threats to the producers and the lead actor/actresses. They are abused on social media platforms with filthy/vulgar language.”

FWICE also mentioned that if anyone has any objection against the content of any movie, they should directly write to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It mentioned, “We strongly condemn these acts and the boycotting of any film which is already certified by the final cell of the film authorities which is the CBFC. Getting a film certified through the CBFC is itself an achievement as the film and the filmmakers are going through the entire process of certification. The protestors of the film should thus follow the right channel and report their grievances against the film to the CBFC and other governing authorities rather than blindly coming up with such a destructive trend to blatantly boycott the entire industry.”

“FWICE stands strong in support of the producers who are creating films and generating employment to lakhs of people and help them to earn their living and survive with dignity. We urge the government to intervene in the matter and stop this trend of ‘Boycott Bollywood,’” the statement concluded.

Over the last few years, Bollywood has witnessed boycott trends on social media platforms. In recent times, Pathaan has been embroiled in controversies as certain sections are calling for a boycott of the film.

Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp, who plays closeted gay teenager Will Byers, has come out as gay. The 18-year-old Netflix star took to his official TikTok account to reveal about his sexuality.

In his TikTok video, Schnapp says, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know'” as he lip-synced over an audio clip and said, “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.” In his caption, he wrote, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”

Back in June 2022, speaking to Variety about Stranger Things 4, Schnapp noted that there have been hints about Will's sexuality and feelings toward his longtime friend Mike since the first season of the series. Setting the record straight, he said that Will Byers is gay.  “It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends?” Schnapp told the outlet. “Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike. But before, it was a slow arc. I think it is done so beautifully, because it’s so easy to make a character just like all of a sudden be gay.”

Noah Schnapp said that Will’s “jealousy” over Mike’s relationship with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) propels him to tearfully speak up. “Sometimes when you’re different you feel like a mistake,” a choked-up Will tells Mike, who doesn’t seem to be grasping the weight of Will’s words. “This scene was really important for him, because it really solidified that truth: that he loves his best friend and he doesn’t know how to tell him,” Schnapp said of his character.

Noah Schnapp will return as Will Byers in the final season of Stranger Things.

Back in 2021, we had reported that Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani had acquired the rights to the Anil Kapoor - Madhuri Dixit starrer Tezaab. In fact, Khetani under his banner Cine 1 Studios was looking to remake the film featuring Kartik Aaryan and Shraddha Kapoor. In fact, there were a number of media reports claiming that the makers of the film were in talks with the two. However, now Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the makers of the film have in fact approached Janhvi Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to top-line the cast.

Revealing details about the casting of the Tezaab remake a well-placed industry source tells Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “Initially the plan was to rope in Shraddha Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan. However, Murad Khetani and team have now decided to approach Janhvi and Ranveer for the project.” Ask the source why the sudden change in the cast and he continues, “Kartik and Shraddha were the front runners for the film. However, due to certain reason the makers have now decided on approaching Janhvi Kapoor and Ranveer Singh for the same roles. Initially, the makers of the Tezaab remake had approached Ranveer first, and instead of Shraddha, they want Janhvi in the movie.”

While there is no confirmation yet on the final cast of the Tezaab remake, it will be interesting to see Janhvi and Ranveer sharing screen space. In fact, the film will mark the first time these two will be paired together on screen, and going by their respective fan following, it is sure to cause a stir.

After building high anticipation with the first look teaser of the much-awaited film of the year, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starter Shehzada is set to welcome 2023 with the splendid trailer of the film on 12th January! With a never witnessed celebration, the trailer will be celebrated on a grand scale with three straight days of festivities in the most vibrant cities of India.

Following the launch of the trailer on 12th January in Mumbai, Shehzada himself along with Kriti Sanon will celebrate Lohri on January 13th in Jalandhar, Punjab. There was a time when the highest grosser of the year would be the one featuring one of the three Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, or Aamir Khan. However, things have changed since 2018 as the year’s biggest hits have been non-Khan flicks, such as Sanju (2018), War (2019), Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior (2020), Sooryavanshi (2021) and The Kashmir Files (2022).

Now, as 2023 commences, the question that arises is – will a non-Khan film once again emerge as the biggest blockbuster in 2023 as well? Or will a Khan film snatch the top spot like in the old times? The latter is very much possible as both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will be having multiple releases, all of which seem very exciting. Shah Rukh Khan will have three films up for release – Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Bollywood Hungama reported last year that all these three films have the potential to collect Rs. 300 crores each.

Salman Khan, meanwhile, will have a proper theatrical release after December 2019 with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. It releases on Eid 2023 followed by Tiger 3 on Diwali. Both have humongous expectations riding on them. Aamir Khan, meanwhile, won’t have a release in 2023.

Trade analyst Atul Mohan is quite confident of Shah Rukh Khan’s films, especially Jawan. He said, “Jawan is a true pan-Indian film. Atlee is one of the biggest Tamil directors. Hence, Jawan can get a huge boost in the South. Atlee’s film with Vijay did a business of Rs. 150-200 crores in Tamil Nadu. If the public there gives the same kind of love to Jawan, imagine the overall business of the film.”

On Dunki and Tiger 3, he said, “The business of Rajkumar Hirani’s film is more than his previous film. Even the Tiger franchise is becoming bigger. From 198.78 crores of Ek Tha Tiger (2012), the collections jumped to Rs. 339.16 crores in the case of Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). That’s like a 70-80% jump. Even though it's a big film this year.”

Atul Mohan continued, “Pathaan’s controversies are going to help the film. Siddharth Anand is one of the biggest directors we have today. All his films have stylish action sequences. So, all 3 films of Shah Rukh have immense potential. Shah Rukh Khan can become a pan-Indian star in 2023.”

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, agreed, “All 3 films of Shah Rukh Khan look fine. Kitni badi hoti hai yeh toh waqt batayega. I can say with confidence that Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki will have a very huge opening.”

He added, “Even Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3 will open with a bang. After that, the content, music, etc will decide its fate”

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh also felt that Khan’s films have a chance. He said, “Yes definitely (these 5 films can emerge as the biggest grossers). The year looks exciting, starting with Pathaan and so many other films, backed by stars. 2023 is going to be a significant year, provided Covid doesn’t play spoilsport.”

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi opined, “With Pathaan, Jawan, Dunki and Tiger, I am sure both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will absolutely rock at the box office and give their fans the much-needed reason to celebrate all over again.”

Following Akshay Kumar's meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, actor Suniel Shetty met him at Taj Hotel in Mumbai. The actor spoke about the film opportunities in the upcoming film city project in Uttar Pradesh. He also spoke about the anti-Bollywood trends on social media and how his word will go a long way. He said that the industry is good and they don't do drugs or wrong work.

As quoted by Indian Express, Suniel Shetty told CM Adityanath, “The hashtag that’s going on, Boycott Bollywood, yeh ruk bhi sakta hai aapke kehne se (it can stop if you say). It is important to spread the word that we are doing good work. One rotten apple is everywhere, but just because of that you can’t call the whole industry rotten. Today people think that Bollywood is not a good place, but we have made such good films here. I was a part of one such film too, when I did Border. I have been a part of many good films. We have to come together and work towards how we can get rid of the Boycott Bollywood hashtag. We have to figure how we can stop this trend.”

He also spoke about how the industry has been doing good work for years. "Today, if I am Suniel Shetty, it is because of UP and the fans from there. If you take the lead, this can definitely happen. It is of great importance that this stigma that is on us is gone. It is a very strong emotion for me. Dukh hota hai bolne mein ke humaare pe yeh stigma hain (it pains me to tell that there is this stigma on us) because 99% of us are not like that. Hum din bhar drugs nahi lete, hum galat kaam nahi karte (We don’t do drugs whole day, we don’t do wrong work). Hum achhe kaam se jude hain (We are associated with good work). Bharat ko agar bahar ke desho se kisi ne joda hai toh woh hain humaara music (Bollywood music has connected India with the world), and our stories. So, Yogi ji if you take the lead and talk to our beloved Prime Minister about it, it will make a huge difference,” he further added.

Earlier, Akshay Kumar met CM Adityanath to talk about film opportunities at UP. The CM also said that the film industry should focus on issues to raise social and national awareness.

Shah Rukh Khan completed 13 years on the micro-blogging site Twitter on January 4. As he gears up for Pathaan, which is due for release in just a few weeks, the superstar hosted his famous Q&A session with fans to answer some interesting questions with honesty and wit.

Sharing a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, SRK wrote, “Realised it’s 13yrs on twitter. It’s been fun with all of u & fan clubs loving me so much. Mixed with good wishes, suggestions, memes, re-edits, expectations, unsolicited advice & some unsavoury behaviour…to all of u my best wishes to make a good life in the real world. #Pathan.”

He hosted a Q&A on this occasion. While SRK hasn’t spoken about the cameo of Salman Khan, a fan asked him, "Pathan me SALMAN KHAN ki entry kab hogi ? #AskSrk.” SRK gave wittiest reply, “#Pathaan is an interactive movie whenever you want bhai to come in the film use the QR code on the ticket and he will come in the film.”

Salman Khan will be playing the role of Tiger in Pathaan before Tiger 3 releases in theatres in 2023. It is a way of bringing YRF’s spy universe together. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It is set to release on January 25, 2023. The trailer for the same arrives on January 10. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The wait is about to get over. Pathaan’s theatrical trailer will finally be released on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The trailer is under 3 minutes and will focus on the action and will also give a little idea about the plot of the film. Shah Rukh Khan obviously gets prominence in the trailer. But Deepika Padukone and John Abraham too have been given their due.”

Following Pathaan, he has Atlee Kumar’s Jawan. Scheduled for June 2023 release, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. He also has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki set for December 2023 release. It stars Taapsee Pannu.

Sharing his views on this topic, Honey Singh said, “I don’t do rap much. I did it only for commercial purpose. Emiway Bantai stepped into Bollywood with his rap ‘Asli Hip-Hop’ featuring in Zoya Akhtar’s directed film, Gully Boy. From struggling hard by working as a helper in Hard Rock Café for earning money to being featured in a well-known director’s film with an A-level star cast, Emiway has truly made his mark.

Since its announcement, the Zoya Akhtar directorial The Archies has been making headlines. In fact, the film, which features Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda, has been the talk of the town thanks to the fact that the film will feature these newcomers making their debut. However, despite the media coverage of the film, very little is known about the subject matter. Well, Bollywood Hungama has managed to source out some details of the venture and what it revolves around.

Talking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development informs us that the film will basically be based on the issue of deforestation. “The Archies has managed to capture the audience and the media’s attention. The teaser of the film, which featured a jungle setting, raised eyebrows and questions alike. But not many know that the jungle plays an integral part of the story of the film”, reveals the source. “In fact, the story of The Archies is centrally based on the topic of deforestation. The film is based on the said environmental issue and the protection of nature. That is the whole idea of the film, hence the setting of a jungle was used in the teaser”, reveals the source.

While it will definitely be interesting to watch the new bunch approach an important topic in their debut vehicle, the film will also feature Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina in key roles as well. A musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult, the film will feature the youthful energy, hope, and excitement of the sixties era. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is co-written by Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre. Said to be a musical drama set in the 1960s, the film is expected to release on Netflix.

Anupam Kher has always been a dependable actor but in 2022, he emerged as the actor with the best success ratio. He was seen in Karthikeya 2, which was a surprise hit in Hindi. He also appeared in Uunchai, which got acclaim from critics and the public and also trended very well. And finally, he was one of the main actors in The Kashmir Files. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this film was the biggest Bollywood hit of 2022, earning Rs. 252.90 crores, shocking and surprising the trade and industry. In a recent interview, Anupam Kher made some interesting comments about this film.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Anupam Kher said, “The Kashmir Files is a turning point in Indian cinema. When 30 or 40 years later, we’ll talk about Indian cinema and its growth, people will say, ‘Cinema before The Kashmir Files and after The Kashmir Files’. As a film, it’s cinematic brilliance, something India should be proud of.” He also said that The Kashmir Files made people realize the truth about Kashmiri Pandits’ tragedy after 32 years. He stated, “Also, besides its heart-touching story, people also embraced the film because of the guilt.”

What also was significant about The Kashmir Files was that it was reportedly made in just Rs. 15 crores. Hence, in terms of ROI, it is one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. On this, Anupam Kher credited the aam junta for showing so much love to the film, “Audiences have always been intelligent. We only underestimate them due to our insecurities. A good film either does well commercially or becomes a cult after a few years. With all the propaganda and opposition, the film collected more than Rs. 75 crores overseas.”

Besides Anupam Kher, The Kashmir Files also stars Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar and Bhasha Sumbli.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Taj Hotel in Mumbai on Wednesday. He is on a 2-day visit to Mumbai. The meeting went on for 35 minutes as they discussed movies, and the upcoming film city project in UP and even urged CM Adityanath to watch Ram Setu to witness the research that went into it.

According to a report in ANI, Akshay Kumar informed CM Adityanath that “there is a great deal of excitement in the Indian film industry around the Film City project. Many big production houses, producers, directors and actors are waiting for the film city in UP to be up and running, the actor is learnt to have told CM Adityanath. He said the development of a world-class Film and Infotainment City in UP will provide a new option to those in the movie business to plan their projects.”

CM Yogi Adityanath said that cinema plays an important role in raising awareness and that filmmakers should work on subjects of social and national importance. He also said that the upcoming film city project will be at par with global standards and that a new film policy is also being “formulated”. He also urged Akshay Kumar to visit UP.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will star in Selfiee with Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. The film is set for February 2023 release. He also Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff, and Soorarai Pottru remake.

Yo Yo Honey Singh, who recently returned to music scenes, discussed about his expensive ways when he gained fame after entering Bollywood. During an interview, the rapper-singer spoke about his love for automobiles and recalled the time he splurged on luxury cars because of his sheer obsession with them. However, in the same breath, the musician also went on to add that he lost his interest in them after he fell ill.

In an interview with Mashable India, Yo Yo Honey Singh was quoted saying, “R8 thi mere paas. Uska number maine Maharashtra se khareeda tha kyunki number bhi R8 tha. Rs. 28 lakh ka sirf number khareeda tha. (I had an R8 with me. I bought its number plate from Maharashtra because the number I needed was R8. But, I paid about Rs. 28 lakh just for the number).”

However, he added that he sold off his cars because he couldn’t drive after he fell ill. He continued, “Sab bech di. Bimar ho gaya tha toh sab bech di. Chala nahi sakta tha gaadi. Uske baad se gaadi chalane ka khatam hi ho gaya. Ab main chalata hi nahi gaadi. (I sold all of them. I fell sick so I sold off all my cars. I can’t drive them anymore. All my love for driving ended just like that. Now I don’t drive anymore).”

For the unversed, Yo Yo Honey Singh earlier mentioned that he suffered from bipolar disorder. In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, the singer had also revealed that he would often fall ill on the sets of his music reality show RAW star and how his condition worsened over months, which forced him to take a break from the entertainment industry for almost five years. “When I started to have psychotic symptoms on the sets of Raw Star, I realised something was wrong with my brain, something had happened to it. I wanted to rectify it. My family said, ‘You are bound by contract, you will get sued. There will be a huge loss.’ I said, ‘I don’t care. I have to fix this.’ It took me five years,” he was quoted saying.

The issues between television actress Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen, who is the brother of Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen continue to make news as the couple is struggling to retain their marriage. After several accusations thrown at each other and blame games, the latest update was that they were being cordial with each other so that they co-parent their daughter Ziana. However, it seems that the problems have cropped up once again and the Sen family has decided to stand in support of the actress and not their son Rajeev Sen in this battle.

A source close to the family informed that the situation at the Sen residence has worsened as Sushmita Sen seems to have decided to break ties with her own brother. The source said, “All is not well in the Sen household after the Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen matter. In fact, elder sister Sushmita Sen and her parents have decided to distance themselves from Rajeev instead. They have had a huge showdown with Rajeev and Sushmita has even stopped following Rajeev. But she continues to follow Charu on social media.” In an earlier interview, Charu too had stated that the Sen family always supported her in her endeavors and how they had decided to go against their own son to do it.

For the unversed, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen tied the knot in 2019 but soon after a year of marriage, there was a lot of trouble in paradise. Furthermore, rumours of their separation started in 2022 post the delivery of their daughter Ziana and since then, both celebrities are going back-forth about their decision of staying together. While Rajeev had accused Charu of hiding the truth about her first marriage, the actress alleged about her husband having trust issues and also of not letting her work in the industry.

The last big release of 2022, Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty, was released with a lot of anticipation. Sadly, the film didn’t meet the expectations of the public and hence, failed to work at the box office. If that’s not enough, the negativity that followed, especially over Rohit Shetty, was in bad taste. Criticizing the film or analysing why it didn’t work is fine. But the way some people went on a rampage, that too, against a filmmaker who is arguably the most loved Bollywood director of the masses at present, didn’t seem justified.

Every significant filmmaker has gone through highs and lows and has delivered flops. But few filmmakers can boast of a track record as Rohit Shetty. Cirkus was his 15th film and it was his 2nd flop after Sunday (2008). Zameen (2003), his directorial debut, was average while the rest of the films were clean hits. Till date, his films have collectively earned a whopping Rs. 1,660 crores approx. Not just that, if we count the footfalls of all his 15 films, then one will be astonished to know that he has sold approx. 19.75 crores tickets till date! This is a huge feat for any director. Imagine how many distributors and theatre owners have benefited and laughed all the way to the bank thanks to Rohit Shetty.

And there’s another stakeholder in the whole process that adores Rohit Shetty – the aam junta. Often, the public is not aware of the director’s identity or even his name. But Rohit is an exception. He’ll be mobbed on the streets or in any public place as the audience loves him for entertaining them for 19 years and for giving them films like Golmaal, Singham etc. In fact, in circuits like Gujarat, the mere mention of him on the posters is enough to drive audiences to the theatres in hordes.

Sooryavanshi (2021) was all set to be released in March 2020 but was pushed at the last minute owing to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. A lot of big films didn’t wait for normalcy and took the OTT route. Rohit Shetty, however, chose to hold the film despite being given lucrative offers by streaming giants. The rate of interest increased the budget and yet, he didn’t give in. Sooryavanshi became one of the first big films to hit cinemas, on Diwali 2021. Rohit’s patience paid off and it collected Rs. 196 crores, despite the 50% occupancy rule in cinemas. It helped in reviving the cinema business and shutting the perception that viewers will not turn up to watch films in cinemas.

Rohit Shetty surprised everyone when he announced that he made Cirkus for his technicians so that they can get work and can make money. And this is a side to him not known to many, that of being a philanthropist. During Covid times, he was at the forefront while donating money to the cine workers. He also has supported the police force and has made social awareness videos for them. And of course, he has shown them in all their glory in his cop universe films. No wonder each and every cop in this country has the deepest respect for Rohit Shetty.

Hence, as one can see, there are far too many amazing qualities in this man and to proclaim that he’s finished or to even celebrate his failure is not done at all. The naysayers should be prepared to eat their words as Rohit’s next film, Singham Again, is sure to have a huge opening and has the potential to be the biggest hit for him as well as its lead actors Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone. Here’s hoping the blockbuster director jumps back to the top league where he rightfully deserves to be. Because when Rohit Shetty’s film does well, the whole industry and ecosystem benefits.

Now, the trailer will help in further enhancing the buzz for the film. The decision to release the promo just two weeks before will pay off.”

Pathaan releases worldwide on January 25, 2023, and is a part of YRF’s spy universe. Hence, Salman Khan aka Tiger is also a part of it. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan will also make a special appearance in Tiger 3, which releases on Diwali 2023, in which he’ll play the character of Pathaan. The other character who is a part of the spy universe is Kabir from War (2019). At a recent promotional shoot, Shah Rukh Khan talked about this aspect and said, “The only thing missing is Hrithik. Hopefully, we’ll try to get him on board because that’ll make our film wonderful.”

Janhvi Kapoor had a tremendous 2022 with two releases Mili and Good Luck Jerry. Both roles brought her praise for her diversity in choices and her performances. But, the actress admits that in these times, one can't value themselves simply based on the results. She spoke about the PR machinery that makes you think you've killed it.

In an interview, Janhvi Kapoor shared with Bollywood Bubble, “In this day and age, you can’t value yourself based on the result because… and this might bite me in the a*s to say this but I think there’s so much machinery behind everything to make even agar aap rubbish bhi kar lo (even if you do rubbish work), there’ll be enough noise to make you feel like you have killed it in life and you’ll kill it in life. There’ll be enough noise to make you feel like you suck so I try not to value myself based on the result so much.”

She added,  “Results se confidence nahi milta mujhe. Experience karne se, process se, seekh milne se mujhe confidence milta hai. (I don’t get confidence from the result. Experience, process, learning, that gives me confidence).”

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will next star in Nitesh Tiwari's Bawaal alongside Varun Dhawan. She is also reuniting with Roohi co-star Rajkummar Rao in Mr and Mrs. Mahi.

There were recent reports about Boney Kapoor acquiring the Hindi remake rights of the successful Tamil film Love Today. Reports also said that he has signed Varun Dhawan to play the lead in the film. However, the veteran producer has rubbished all such reports as untrue.

Taking onto Twitter, Kapoor said, “Please note that I have NOT acquired the remake rights of Love Today. All such reports on social media are baseless and fake.”

Released in November last year, Love Today was written and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. The film marked his debut as the lead actor and it also starred Ivana and Raveena Ravi.

Love Today is a romantic drama about a software engineer Uthaman Pradeep (Ranganathan) who is in love with Nikhitha (Ivana) and vice-versa. The girl hails from an upper-class family. When Pradeep visits his girlfriend’s father to ask for her hand in marriage, the father puts forth a condition. Both Pradeep and Nikhitha should exchange their phones for a day and if after the completion of that period they still feel they love each other, he won’t object to their marriage.

Love Today enjoyed positive reviews and enormous box office success after being made at a moderate budget.
