Although she is gearing up for her film Ram Setu alongside Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez will be taking off to Delhi today owing to her involvement in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. While the actress has been summoned several times after the conman was arrested in this case, she was last granted interim bail. As a part of the further procedure, the actress will be appearing before the Delhi Court for the hearing of her bail plea.

After being named accused in a chargesheet, Jacqueline Fernandez was summoned by the Delhi authorities for an interrogation that allegedly went on for over eight hours. The Enforcement Directorate, while investigating the case, had named Jacqueline as one of the accused as it was alleged that the actress knew of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s activities. However, after the team of the actress’ lawyers moved the Delhi court for her interim bail, the court asked ED to file a response to the plea. Considering this, the actress will be appearing before the court today. Confirming the same, her lawyer Prashant Patil was quoted in an ETimes report saying, "We shall be appearing before the Honourable Special Court at Delhi. The matter is listed for final arguments on the bail application of Jacqueline."

The actress became involved in this case after she was accused of accepting gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar, worth Rs. 7 crores. While her gifts involved luxury items, it was also reported that her family received financial benefits from the conman as well. Besides her, another actress who was involved in the case was Nora Fatehi. While both the actresses were named as a witness in the first chargesheet filed by the ED, Jacqueline was later named as accused after it was claimed that the actress accepted these gifts despite knowing that they were the ‘proceeds’ of the crime.

On the final day of the Film Festival, Deepika sported an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ruffled sari as the gala came to a close. Deepika's custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla white ruffled sari radiated a sculptural aesthetic and was inspired by "celestial grace." The outfit was heightened by the aquatic elements underlined by the shell-like blouse, pearls, crystals, trail, and ruffles, which gave it a distinctive red carpet appeal. With its all-encompassing silhouette, the hand-embroidered statement collar made of pearls and crystals became the centre of attention. Hina Khan chose a saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla that was identical to Deepika, but she styled it differently with her stylish hairstyle and glamorous makeup. The six yards of wonder by Hina Khan is a semi-sheer chiffon drape with ruffled accents along the border. The pallu, which has a special sleeve addition to make the look uncomplicated, is covered in ruffles that are covered in intricate applique work all over. She wore the pre-pleated saree in the conventional manner, tucking the pallu sleeve into one hand to show off the ruffles to their fullest extent. Hina paired the saree with an ivory blouse with full sheer sleeves, a deep V neckline, and applique work in the shape of horizontal stripes. From her first film itself, Parineeti Chopra garnered a lot of appreciation for her acting chops. The actress is also known for exploring varied genres in her repertoire. So when she was offered the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal, audiences eagerly awaited her to give her nod for the character. The film would have featured her alongside Ranbir Kapoor for the first time and fans were quite excited about watching them together onscreen. However, the actress declined the offer. Currently, Rashmika Mandanna is playing the leading lady in the film.

In a recent interview with India Today, Parineeti Chopra opened up on why she decided to take that step. She said, “These things happen, it is a part and parcel of life. We must make such choices every day. You make the choice that is right for you.” Animal is a Pan India film of Ranbir Kapoor that will not only release in Hindi but also in other regional South languages. It is being said that the film will revolve around a gangster family and is being extensively shot in Mumbai and Delhi. It marks the first collaboration of Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga with Ranbir Kapoor and the latter's first onscreen appearance with Rashmika Mandanna.

Coming to Parineeti Chopra, the actress was last seen in Code Name Tiranga where she essayed the character of a spy for the first time. The film featured her alongside Punjabi actor-singer Harrdy Sandu. The actress was seen doing some intense action sequences in this Ribhu Dasgupta directorial that released on October 14.

On the other hand, Parineeti is gearing up for the release of the Rajshri film Uunchai. Exploring a different genre by Sooraj Barjatya, the film tells the story of four aged friends, who decide to fulfill the dream of one of them after his sudden demise. Parineeti will be seen as the trek guide in the film as she helps the three friends and their team to climb the challenging Mount Everest, despite their age and the difficult weather conditions of the Himalayas. The film is expected to hit the big screens on November 11.

Ayushmann Khurrana is enjoying the success of his recently released medical dramedy Doctor G. Like his previous acclaimed outings, the Anubhuti Kashyap directorial also features a unique story. The film released in the theaters on October 14.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann spoke about the one thing he missed about his hometown Chandigarh as he currently lives in Mumbai. He said, “I think cleanliness. Traffic sense. And I think I romanticize that place, it’s beautiful.”

In the interview, Ayushmann also talked about doing progressive films that have a moral. “I think it's just that I don't want to do anything regressive. I know, the popular palate is slightly regressive, but I can't change my mindset like that. So, this is my USP, I'll do films which are progressive, that have a moral.”

“I believe in cinema for change and the more people watch it, like it should be a theatrical because it reaches out to more people,” he added, “So eventually, of course it will come on OTT also, but if it comes in theaters, it'll reach to more people. So, I think that's my only effort.”

Speaking of Doctor G, the film is a medical drama in which he will be seen essaying the role of a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.

There has been an uproar on social media with the 12-year-old Riva Arora reentering the entertainment industry as a glam girl. In the past, Karan Kundrra featured in a music video with the child artist and received flak from the social media users. The trend has continued with Mika Singh. The musician-singer was seen with Riva dancing to the tunes of his latest number and got massively trolled for featuring alongside a 12-year-old.

In fact, netizens have been questioning Riva’s parents and slamming them for introducing her to growth hormones that make her look like a 20-year-old. Yet another user called out to the ongoing ‘boycott’ culture in Bollywood where films are trolled and slammed for insulting religious sentiments and someone’s faith. The user quizzed, “Where’s the boycott brigade now? Or is this okay and permissible by the gods and religions and our “culture”? Yet another troll added, “When Mika was is his 30s she was born that time.”

In the past, after the massive flak that the music video received, Riva Arora deleted the same from her official social media handle. However, the video that was already available on other pages continued to receive the same negative reactions from the audiences as they continued to accuse the actress’ parents of sexual exploitation of their child.

In an interesting development, Pachinko actress Kim Minha will be seen collaborating with South Korean popstar Doyoung of the K-pop group NCT. The track is titled ‘Fallin’.  It will be released towards the end of October.

Earlier this year, Kim Minha made her lead role appearance in the Apple TV+ trilingual series Pachinko. Epic in scope and intimate in tone, the story begins with forbidden love and crescendos into a saga that journeys between Korea, Japan, and America to tell an unforgettable story of war and peace, love and loss, triumph and reckoning. The series premiered globally on Apple TV+ on March 25, 2022. The series is based on the acclaimed New York Times bestselling novel by the same name and is created by Soo Hugh.

Meanwhile, Doyoung’s group NCT 127 dropped their new album 2 Baddies dropped on September 16, 2022.  In 2021, he starred in the television drama Midnight Cafe Season 3 -The Curious Stalker and appeared in the musical Marie Antoinette. On October 1, Doyoung released the soundtrack song ‘Like a Star’ for the drama Yumi's Cells.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Pyaar Ka Punchnama fame actress Ishita Raaj has been roped in to essay the role of a news anchor and be a narrator, who takes the story forward, in this yet-to-be-titled film.

The film, based on a true event, is an emotional drama showcasing the mentality of today's youth and society at large. And the courage it takes to stand your ground and voice against discrimination.

Producer Raaj Shaandilyaa says, Sandeep and I go back a long way, and this film is very special to me. He adds, “This kind of story needs to be told to bring about awareness in the youth. I am absolutely convinced and thoroughly believe in the message the film has to put across. And Ishita Raaj is perfect for the role. I have great expectations from her. She is one actress to watch out for.”

Producer Sandeep Singh says,  “Ever since he made Dream Girl, Raaj has always maintained an encouraging and supportive attitude towards newcomers. A quality I relate to.” As for Ishita, “he says, 'She is the new age Rani Mukherjee. Ideally, I should have worked with her much earlier. But as they say better late than never. The character she plays will take the audience by surprise. Also, she is sharp and  passionate about acting and cinema, a filmmaker's delight.”

Actor Ishita Raaj says, “It’s a different genre I’ll be seen in. A role that's challenging for any actress. When I read the script I instantly knew I had to do it. I can’t reveal anything right now, but the film will certainly leave the viewers astounded.”

Scheduled to start in January 2023, the film will be extensively shot in Maharashtra and Bihar. The film is presented by ThinkInk  Picturez and Legend Studios, and produced by Raaj Shaandilyaa.

Keeping the spirit of Chadwick Boseman alive, Marvel Studios is now gearing up for the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is expected to open with record-breaking box office numbers in the US. Now, India has opened advance bookings for the upcoming sequel, two weeks ahead of the November 11 release.

Marvel India made an announcement on Friday ahead of Diwali festivities and wrote, “Breaking News: Wakanda has opened its doors to the world once again! Advance booking for Marvel Studios' Black Panther: #WakandaForever is now open.”

Recently, director Ryan Coogler discussed what the original script of Black Panther sequel looked like and how it was written for Chadwick Boseman. Following the death of the actor in 2020 after his cancer battle, the director and co-writer Joe Robert Cole re-wrote a script after Marvel had decided against recasting of Black Panther. "The script we wrote before Chadwick passed was very much rooted in T’Challa’s perspective," Coogler told The Hollywood Reporter. "It was a massive movie but also simultaneously a character study that delved deeply into his psyche and situation."

He revealed, “The Black Panther has existed in Wakanda for centuries, so the notion of someone else picking up the mantle didn’t seem inorganic,” said Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore. “But once that had to become a reality, then it was, ‘OK, what makes the most sense for the story? Who actually makes the most sense to take this thing on?’"

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the action-adventure stars Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Martin Freeman.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reportedly clocks in at 2 hours 41 minutes making the film the longest Phase 4 movie. The film opens in theatres on November 11, 2022, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in India.

In the past few days back, the OTT scam case has come to light, shocking the industry circles. And yesterday, a significant development took place after the third arrest was made in this case. Akshat Raj Saluja was nabbed by the cyber crime police for his alleged involvement in this case.

Akshat is an actor, who has worked in films like 31st October (2016), PM Narendra Modi (2019) etc. Also known simply as Raj Saluja, he was the associate producer of Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Dream Girl (2019) and the writer of Aditya Roy Kapur’s recent release, Rashtra Kavach Om (2022) as well the web series, Shiksha Mandal. As per his IMDb profile, he has also written the upcoming Sunny Deol-Mithun Chakraborty-Jackie Shroff starrer, Baap. According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s the managing director of ThinkInk Picturez Limited, run by Dream Girl director, Raaj Shaandilyaa.

This matter came to light when a producer, Maan Singh, filed a complaint. He met one Rajat Kumar Mourya who claimed that he’ll help him sell his film on OTT platforms. He also mentioned that he’ll charge Rs. 10 lakhs per film sold on digital. Maan Singh agreed after Rajat showed him certificates, purportedly from OTT platforms, of the films that he helped release. In January 2021, he showed Maan Singh a letter of intent from Panorama Studios and claimed that the studio, known for making films like Drishyam, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and Raid etc. is interested to buy his film for Rs. 4 crores.

This prompted Maan Singh to begin work on his film, titled MD Platinum. Rajat Kumar Mourya, from hereon, took Rs. 2.50 lakhs as a token amount and later Rs. 1.50 lakhs, citing that he needed to pay the amount to an official of Panorama Studios. Under previous pretexts, Rajat kept usurping money from Maan. The producer ended up paying Rs. 48 lakhs after which he realized he was conned.

Once the complaint was filed, the police arrested Rajat Kumar Mourya. Soon, one Sanjay Saha was also held for their involvement. And finally, Akshat Raj Saluja, too, got arrested for cheating, forgery, and breach of trust under the Indian Penal Code as well as under the Information Technology Act. The police claimed that Saluja was paid Rs. 7.50 lakh of Rs 48 lakh extracted from Singh. He was produced before the Borivali court, which remanded him to police custody.

Interestingly, according to Maan Singh’s complaint, Rajat Kumar Mourya had suggested that he should hire Akshat Raj Saluja to rewrite his film, MD Platinum, and make it better. For this, he had taken Rs. 5.50 lakhs from Maan.

According to reports, Maan Singh was not the only person conned by this gang. Producer Gaurang Doshi, of Aankhen (2002) fame and actor Vivek Oberoi were also targeted. As per an article in Hindustan Times, both have filed FIR against them for cheating.

Gaurang Doshi admitted in this article that he felt ‘stupid’ for realizing the con after a year. He also revealed that it was Vivek Oberoi who had introduced him to the gang. While Gaurang Doshi lost Rs. 1 crore, Vivek Oberoi was cheated of Rs. 2-3 crores. Finally, Gaurang Doshi also said that the gang members dropped the name of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, etc to usurp money.
