October 11 this year marks the 80th birthday of legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. Among many others, it's her daughter Shweta Bachchan who wrote a heartwarming birthday note for him. While taking to her official social media handle, Shweta dropped a photo dump, featuring a few unseen photos of the Shahenshah.

On the other hand, Shweta wrote a Punjabi poem in her caption along with “To my grand old man Happy 80th Birthday”. In one of the images, Amitabh can be seen walking hand-in-hand with toddler Shweta. The multiple-picture post on Shweta’s Instagram handle garnered love from Bachchan’s fans.

Among many others, Soha Ali Khan, Angad Bedi, Navya Naveli Nanda, Hrithik Roshan, Maheep Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and Zoya Akhtar also reacted to the post while wishing the megastar a happy birthday. “Beautiful post Shweta exclaimed a fan, while another called him "the King of India". Not only Shweta, but the entire India is celebrating the Don actor’s 80th birthday. To mark the occasion, the Film Heritage Foundation along with PVR Cinemas has announced a four-day film festival. In the film festival, Bachchan Back To The Beginning, presented 11 films of Big B over 22 theatres all around India. The list includes Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Halaal, Abhimaan, Deewar, Mili, Satte Pe Satta, and Chupke Chupke.

Even before the film hit the big screens, the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan has been garnering ample of attention from the audience. The film marks the comeback of the superstar after three years on the big screen and fans cannot wait to see him play the secret spy in this Siddharth Anand directorial. Now certain reports suggest that the makers are already planning a sequel but there has been no official announcement regarding the film.

Reports have it that the team of Pathaan has already started work on the second instalment and that they are working on the script. Neither Siddharth Anand nor producers Yash Raj Films have spoken about it. Readers would be aware that Pathaan will also have Salman Khan reprising his role as Tiger along with Shah Rukh Khan also reprising his role from Pathaan in Tiger 3. It is being said that YRF is keen on creating a spy universe with the Khans by turning these films into big franchises.

Speaking of Pathaan 2, a source was quoted in ETimes saying, “The team of Pathaan has begun writing the sequel to the film and like the Tiger films, the story will travel to various countries." It has also been revealed that the makers would be adding more characters in the sequel to the SRK starrer.

For the first time ever, Pathaan will bring together Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone. The spy thriller is expected to feature the action packed avatars of the superstar and the actress. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is slated to release on January 25, 2023. Talking about Tiger 3, the film will mark the return of the popular onscreen couple Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif whereas Emraan Hashmi will be seen in the role of an antagonist. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the action entertainer will release on April 21, 2023.

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently gearing up for his next release Doctor G. Like his previous big-screen outings, the Anubhuti Kashyap directorial features a unique story, which is off the beaten track. Recently, while promoting the film, Ayushmann was in conversation with Bollywood Hungama, where he revealed that there was a time a producer offered him a blank cheque to sign a three-film deal.

Talking about the incident, while replying to the query of how tough it is to reject films that don’t have a unique twist, the actor added, “I remember there was this one producer who gave me a bank cheque saying, 'aap jitne paise chaihye le lo, humare saath teen picture kar lo'. I asked about the story, subject and the script, his response was, 'woh toh likhte rahenge hum’. Maine kaha, mere liye Lakshmi ke pehle Saraswati aati hai. For me the script is very important, there have been offers, which have been out there, and much more than what I expected. But it is the script which is of utmost importance.”

As for Ayushmann’s soon-to-release film, Doctor G also features Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha and revolves around a doctor's struggle as a male gynecologist. Produced by Junglee Pictures the film is slated to hit screens on October 14, 2022.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and his infectious energy spread like wildfire with whoever dances with him. The videos and photos coming from his latest visit to NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022 are proof of it. For the unversed, the Bollywood actor is the ambassador of the National Basketball Association India. After sharing antisemitic posts on social media, Kanye ‘Ye’ West, has had both his Twitter and Instagram accounts restricted following a series of antisemitic posts.

According to a report by Variety, the restriction comes after West took to Twitter after facing a similar restriction on Instagram. The musician Donda rapper shared two tweets that have largely been criticized as antisemitic. The first post – where West claimed that he couldn’t be antisemitic and said he had been “toyed with” by the Jewish people – has since been deleted by Twitter for “violating the Twitter rules.”

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death [sic] con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” West wrote in the now-deleted post. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.” A second post, shared closely after the first, remains public on Twitter: “Who do you think created cancel culture?”

Earlier on October 7, West had shared a screenshot of a message, in a now-deleted post, which he had allegedly sent to rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, in which he wrote, "Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this was war." Soon after, Instagram restricted his account and deleted the content for a violation of its policies.

Per the report, a Meta spokesperson confirmed the decision sharing that temporary restrictions on posting, commenting and messaging are standard practice for accounts that regularly violate the social media platform’s policies. The company did not indicate which specific posts were the cause behind the restriction.

Following the backlash on Instagram, West took to Twitter calling out Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for his restriction from the platform and wrote, “Look at this Mark How you gone kick me off Instagram You used to be my ni**a” Replying to the rapper, Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote, “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”

This week is going to be dominated by Amitabh Bachchan as he turns 80 years old tomorrow, October 11. A film festival of his classic films is going on in multiple cities in PVR Cinemas and its videos have already gone viral. Meanwhile, his film Goodbye was released last Friday, October 7. Its tickets will be sold for just Rs. 80 on his birthday and this offer has also caught the attention of film goers.

Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan will continue to dominate the headlines next week as well. The trailer of his upcoming film, Uunchai, will be released on Tuesday, October 18 at a grand event at a multiplex in Mumbai. The actors of the film – Parineeti Chopra, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Sarika and Neena Gupta – along with director Sooraj Barjatya will be present at this launch event. As for Amitabh Bachchan, he’ll join the event and interact with the media through video call.

Uunchai releases on November 11 in cinemas. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sooraj Barjatya is known for making films about families. For the first time, he has made a film which celebrates friendship. It’s shot in the snow-capped regions of Nepal and it’s a story of four old-aged buddies who try to scale Mount Everest, as per reports. There’s a lot of excitement for this film as Sooraj Barjatya’s track record is incredible. The trade expects this film to be a dark horse at the box office. The trailer will give a fair idea about the film’s potential and hence, the launch event is keenly awaited.”

In October 2021, Bollywood Hungama reported that Parineeti Chopra will be seen in the role of a Nepali tourist guide in Uunchai who helps and accompanies Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Danny Denzongpa on their adventurous trip. The line producer Suraj Acharya had revealed to a newspaper that between October 4 to 9, 2021, the team of the film shot at Lukla airport, located near the Everest Base Camp. It is considered the most dangerous airport in the world.

Salman Khan has been even more successful since the release of Dabangg (2010). His box office record is envious and though a few of his recent films underperformed, his stardom is intact. As a result, there’s a lot of hype for his upcoming film, Kisi Ka Bhi Kisi Ki Jaan. The superstar has released a few stills from the film and even a rocking title announcement video in the past few months. And now, on Diwali, Salman is all set to treat fans with a surprise.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Salman Khan and his team are going to digitally drop an asset of Kisi Ka Bhi Kisi Ki Jaan. It’ll be launched on or around the Festival of Lights. Diwali is a time when families come together. Kisi Ka Bhi Kisi Ki Jaan is also a complete family entertainer. Hence, Salman felt that this period is apt to release an asset of the film. Moreover, with the movie releasing two months later, it was only fair to begin the promotional campaign during the festival.”

When asked what the fans can expect, the source replied, “Salman Khan, director Farhad Samji and the core team are working on the poster, motion poster and teaser. They’ll decide closer to Diwali as to what they’ll like to release out of the three.”

Will it come on the day of Diwali? The source revealed, “Possibly. Or it can come around Diwali. A clearer picture will emerge in the next ten days.”

Meanwhile, fans online are speculating that Kisi Ka Bhi Kisi Ki Jaan’s asset will be unveiled during the India vs Pakistan T20 match, which will be held on October 23. The source, however, maintained that nothing is sure at the moment.

Kisi Ka Bhi Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill and Raghav Juyal. Venkatesh and Jagapathi Babu also have key roles in the film. It will release in cinemas on December 30, 2022.

The recent recall of the journey of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family has risen the anticipation for the much-awaited, Drishyam 2. Going by the latest development update, the upcoming film has wrapped its last schedule. Interestingly, before wrapping the crew shot a song featuring the Salgaonkar family in Goa. 

The sequel of the murder mystery will mark the return of its original star cast of Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta. After the release of the recall teaser, Bollywood Hungama had shared an interesting development about the film. A source told us, “The trailer of Drishyam 2 is expected to be out mid-October, around October 15 or 16.”

It further added, “The launch event will be held in Goa. The beach state played a very important role in part 1 as well as in Drishyam 2. Hence, the team of the film felt that launching the trailer of Drishyam 2 will give a nice touch. The film's actors - Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav - will be in attendance at the Goa event along with director Abhishek Pathak and the producers of the film.”

Viacom18 Studios Presents Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Panorama Studios present, Drishyam 2 produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The original score and music are by Rockstar DSP (Devi Sri Prasad). Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 2 is set to release theatrically on 18th November 2022.

Geeta Basra has been on a long hiatus. But now, the actress is all set to return to the big screen after six years. Geeta, who was busy with her married life and motherhood, had decided to take a break from the entertainment industry. While she was quite active on social media, the actress seems to have made up her mind to return and stay active in B-town as well. Her next film is titled Notary and will feature her alongside Parambrata Chatterjee.

Geeta Basra took to Instagram to announce her next film Notary and also gave a sneak peek into what the film is all about. She posted, “#Notary is a quirky and satirical drama film. A Kaash Entertainment production, in association with Boundless Media and Wadeeyar Movies, the shoot of the film has begun.” Speaking about her return, a source close to the actress said, “Geeta has announced her comeback to films after six years. She was on a maternity break for the past few years and now she decided that she is all set to face the cameras again. Before that, the actress is spending some quality time with her family in Dubai.”

Notary is directed by Pawan Wadeyar and is also expected to star Shiv Pandit, Priya Banerjee, Dalip Tahil, Darshana Banik, among others. Recently the actress also announced about the film going on floors by posing with a clap. Former Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill is gearing up to become a Bollywood star. However, the reality show contestant’s family seems to face trouble in Punjab. Her father Santokh Singh Gill, who is also a politician, faced death threats and have approached the Amritsar police and has filed a case against the caller. Mr. Gill has given a statement to ANI claiming that he received a phone call and was threatened that he would be killed before Diwali. He also went on to state that if no arrests are made, he would be forced to leave Punjab.

Speaking to ANI, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) member Santokh Singh Gill said, “I reached the SSP of Amritsar Rural Police on Saturday to file a complaint,” he said. “Yesterday I got a threat call from a person named Happy who threated to kill me before Diwali,” he shared. He went on to add, “I think they want to target me because I am a Hindu leader.”

While he has requested the police to fast track the investigation, he went on to conclude, “If no arrests are made, I will soon be forced to leave Punjab and settle elsewhere.” In the past, in December 2021, Santokh Singh Gill was attacked by two assailants who had shot him when he was sitting in the car.

Shehnaaz Gill gained fame with Bigg Boss 13 and was reportedly dating co-contestant Siddharth Shukla, who passed away last year due to cardiac arrest. She is currently gearing up to make her big Bollywood debut alongside Salman Khan in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which also features an ensemble cast of Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill among others.

The National Cinema Day has made the industry realize that cheaper ticket rates can pull audiences to cinema halls in hordes. It was celebrated on September 23 and tickets were sold for just Rs. 75. It resulted in house full shows not just for big-ticket films like Brahmastra but even for small films like Chup and Dhokha Round D Corner. The offer was then extended to weekdays. Recently, the tickets for the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Goodbye were sold for just Rs. 150 on its release day, that is, Friday, October 7.

And now, the makers have come up with another exciting offer. On Tuesday, October 11, viewers will be able to watch Goodbye for just Rs. 80! A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Since the film’s lead, Amitabh Bachchan, turns 80 on Tuesday, the makers felt that it’ll be a great idea to sell tickets for Rs. 80 on this day. They spoke to the multiplex chains and they also felt it was a great idea. They readily came on board. The advance booking has already begun for the 11th.”

The source continued, “There’ll be a lot of noise on October 11; after all, the mahanayak is turning 80. The makers plan to promote this exciting offer and are confident that it’ll result in huge footfalls. They are expecting that several viewers will come to the cinema halls to take advantage of cheaper ticket prices.”

According to the source, as of now, PVR Cinemas, Inox, Cinepolis, Miraj, Mukta etc are already on board. “The other multiplex chains, standalone cinemas and single-screens too are expected to sell tickets of Goodbye for Rs. 80 on October 11,” revealed the source.

Meanwhile, a film festival named ‘Bachchan Back To The Beginning’ is going on at PVR Cinemas. It is organized by the Film Heritage Foundation from October 8 to 11 in 17 cities. As part of this film festival, classic films of Amitabh Bachchan like Don, Kaala Patthar, Kaalia, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony etc are being shown on the big screen. While tickets on October 8, 9 and 10 are available for Rs. 150, on the 11th, the tickets will be sold for just Rs. 80.

Three-time National Film Awardee, Manoj Bajpayee has been roped in to play the lead in an untitled courtroom drama, backed by Vinod Bhanushali’s Bhanushali Studios Limited, Suparn S Varma and Zee Studios. It is expected to revolve around a hard-hitting subject and marks the debut of director Apoorv Singh Karki in Hindi films who has helmed popular OTT shows like Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd, and Flames, among others. The film brings back Suparn S Varma and Manoj Bajpayee together after their award-winning series ‘The Family Man’. Besides Bajpayee, the film is also expected to feature an ensemble cast.

Speaking about the film, Manoj Bajpayee said, “When Vinod Bhanushali & Suparn S Varma told me about the story, I was fascinated and immediately agreed to be a part of this beautiful script. The courtroom drama will enthrall and Apoorv Karki is going to create something that will intrigue the audience. We are excited as we start shoot today. I am sure this film is something people will remember for a really long time.”

Talking about choosing this film as his debut in Hindi cinema, director Apoorv Singh Karki shared, “This film has everything on point that attracted me towards it – a good story, solid cast, strong producers backing it. The script demanded a calm and assertive actor like Manoj Sir to lead the film and we are glad to have him on board. This is definitely an unmissable opportunity for me.”

Producer Vinod Bhanushali added, “Whenever Manoj Bajpayee comes on-screen, he makes you believe in the story, the character he portrays, and makes you notice every little nuance. He was always our only choice for this character. In this film, I get to work with friends Suparn S Varma and Shariq Patel at Zee Studios as well as experience a young talent like Apoorv Singh Karki.”

Suparn S Varma revealed, “This courtroom drama will entertain and inspire audiences. Working with Manoj Bajpayee has been the greatest of experiences, the depth and passion he brings to this role is going to leave you mesmerized. Vinod, Apoorv, and I with Zee Studios are proud to present you this story that will have you discussing it for days.”

Talking about backing the film, Shariq Patel, CBO at Zee Studios, concluded, “Zee Studios is committed to exploring newer entertainment realms and always pushing the envelope. The film is an enticing courtroom drama and will showcase Manoj Bajpayee in a never-seen-before character.”

A Zee Studios and Bhanushali Studios Limited presentation, Suparn S Varma’s courtroom drama directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Asif Sheikh & Vishal Gurnani and co-produced by Juhi Parekh Mehta. While the filming begins on October 9, the makers are looking at a 2023 release.

Filmmaker Karan Johar returns as a director after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, who previously were seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The film also will see Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in prominent roles. While the actors have wrapped the film, one song shoot remains which will be shot after Alia Bhatt gives birth to her first child. The film, which was previously scheduled for February 2023 release, does not have a finalized date yet. However, Karan is quite satisfied with the way the film is turning out.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan Johar called his next directorial a ‘joyous’. “The film is a joyous film, in my opinion, I hope that everybody else believes that. I just think that I'm very privileged to have been able to work with Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra, besides Ranveer and Alia. We have an amazing cast from Kolkata as well. We have Churni Ganguli and Tota Roy Chowdhury. I've worked with Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog and an actress called Anjali Anand. We have so many interesting new actors and it's a massive ensemble, a family love story. It has all the elements in the film that I have loved watching and always having as part of my films. The songs and the dances – it a celebratory film and I can't wait for actually everyone to kind of dig themselves into the world of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.”

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi is slated for a 2023 release. The filmmaker is also planning to direct an action entertainer with hopes to kick off the shoot in April 2023.

Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty aka ‘Tunki and Munki' have been one of the fan-favourite sibling duo of B-Town. Though the two have only appeared once on the silver screen in the film Fareb, audiences have loved their fun banter whether on social media or during their interviews. Recently, the sister duo stirred excitement amongst their fans as they shared a video of them together dropping hints about something exciting coming up very soon. They surprised their fans with their recent Instagram post. In the video, which seemed like BTS, the Shetty sisters can be seen having fun while they were on the sets of something ‘coming soon’.

Escalating the excitement amongst the fans, Shilpa captioned the video as, “Dil thaam ke baithiye... kyunki... / Coming soon... Munki and Tunki.”  The video starts with Shamita lying on the floor and waving at the camera while making faces. As the camera pans, Shilpa gives a goofy reaction to Shamita’s activity.

As soon as the teaser of the Om Raut directorial Adipurush dropped, it received a mixed response. Meanwhile, a section of netizens trolled the look of Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. Now, director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir have finally broken their silence.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, the director-writer duo addressed the criticism. Raut explained, “Our Ravan in today's time is demonic, he is cruel. The one who has abducted our Goddess Sita is cruel. We have shown what Raavan look like in today's time. This is not a film or a project for us. This is a mission for us.”

Om then went on to elaborate and asserted, “Our film is a symbol of our devotion and we need everyone's blessings for this. Whosoever is speaking about the film are our elders. I am listening to all of them and taking note of everything. When you will watch the film in January 2023, I will not disappoint anyone.”

Muntashir added that people have only watched a 1 minute and 35 seconds-long teaser in which Saif's Ravan is seen with a tripund (three horizontal lines on the forehead in the form of a tilak). He continued, “I want to ask which Khilji sports a tilak or a tripund? Which Khilji wears a janeu (holy thread) and rudraksh? Our Ravan sports all of these in the tiny teaser.”

The mythological film based on Ramayana is slated to release on January 12 next year. While Khan will essay Lankesh, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon will be seen as Ram and Sita.

With her acting prowess, actress Radhika Apte has always managed to grab the attention of the audience. Recently, the actress played an important character in Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha. While talking about the film and its making, Radhika discussed the type of projects she is looking forward to.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Apte said, “It’s [Vikram Vedha] a good film, and that matters to me. So many times, you are part of a film, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you like the film. Here, I like the film”. To elaborate further, she asserted, “As for the body of work, no matter what your resumé has, success means so much in our industry. It makes you a bit relevant suddenly. Your commercial viability depends on your box-office success.

As the conversation progressed, the Raat Akeli Hai actress also shared her two cents on male-driven films and how it affects the screen time and depiction of women characters. She said, “I knew the story was about two men. My part was always going to be small. That said, it’s not about screen time. I loved working with Gayatri and Pushkar.”

Recalling an incident, Apte continued, “I jokingly said, ‘Why didn’t you make Vikram and Vedha women?’ They told me there will be a next time. Would I like to be in films that offer me more scope and time? Definitely.”

Talking about the Pushkar-Gayatri directorial, she mentioned, “Vikram is darker than Vedha; that’s what I loved about the movie. I am tired of watching good and bad based on society’s ideas and mandated moralities that make no sense to me. People are extreme and intolerant across the world. The film is relevant for the times we are living in.”

Vikram Vedha is a remake of a Tamil language film of the same name. The film was released on September 30. Though it is a remake, the neo-noir film has managed to garner a positive response from the audience as well as critics.
