Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan greeted a sea of fans on Thursday evening on the occasion of Eid 2024 as the holy month concluded. As the tradition continues, a huge crowd of fans gathered outside his residence Mannat in Mumbai where they wait for hours every year to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. And as usual, the actor made an appearance to greet the fans.

Dressed in a white Pathani, Shah Rukh Khan was sporting long hair tied in a half ponytail. He was on the balcony of his sea-view-facing bungalow as fans cheered and chanted his name. Sharing the video, he wrote, “Eid Mubarak everyone… and thank you for making my day so special. May Allah bless us all with love, happiness and prosperity.”

Another video saw little AbRam Khan arrive on the balcony who was also dressed in all-white. Shah Rukh Khan asked him to wave at the fans. After which, he kissed his forehead as the little one left the balcony.

In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan made a smashing return with Pathaan, followed by Jawan and Dunki. The former two films ended up earning more than Rs. 1000 crore each at the box office globally whereas Dunki was also a success with Rs. 212.42 crore at the Indian box office.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next project but speculations are that he is working with Sujoy Ghosh for Red Chillies Entertainment’s next King, starring alongside Suhana Khan. More than 20 years ago, Mumbai residents got a taste of the IMAX experience with the giant dome screen at Wadala, Mumbai. As years passed, the number of IMAX films increased, leading to healthy footfalls in the iconic giant theatre. Last year, the theatre shut and it dealt a huge blow to the moviegoers in the city. But now, it has come to light that the IMAX screen will soon reopen under Miraj Cinemas.

At the ComicCon 2024 exhibition conference in Las Vegas, IMAX Corporation and Miraj Entertainment Limited today announced their new partnership, agreeing to install three new IMAX with Laser systems at key locations across India. This deal marks the first-ever collaboration between the two companies and IMAX’s largest expansion in India in five years. Apart from the one in Mumbai, the second property will be located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This also means that the Pink City will get its first-ever IMAX. The third location hasn’t been announced yet.

Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX, said, “Last year, we delivered record-breaking results in India—driven by a mix of Hollywood and Indian blockbusters—and we’re excited to expand our footprint in the market as the appetite for premium experiences continues to surge. We look forward to building on our remarkable momentum in India with our new partner Miraj Cinemas as they expand The IMAX Experience in key locations and iconic venues across the country.”

Amit Sharma, Managing Director, Miraj Entertainment Limited, stated, “IMAX is the most immersive cinematic experience in the world, and we are thrilled to join forces with them to bring IMAX with Laser to our venues in India. At Miraj, we know our audiences want larger-than-life movie experiences, and we look forward to partnering with IMAX to bring The IMAX Experience to new locations in the country, including non-metro cities.”

The IMAX cinema in Wadala was earlier managed by Big Cinemas and was then taken over by Carnival Cinemas. Carnival went into a loss and it shut most of its screens across India, including the Wadala property. The news of Miraj taking it over and restarting the IMAX screen is sure to spread cheer among moviegoers and the industry.

Bollywood Hungama has also learned that along with the IMAX screen, the normal screens in the Wadala property will also restart operations.

Actor Anil Kapoor recently opened up about his wife Sunita Kapoor's unwavering support during his initial struggles in the film industry. In a candid interview alongside his daughter Sonam Kapoor, Anil revealed how Sunita played a pivotal role in their early life as a couple.

Anil spoke about his career journey that has seen him navigate both highs and lows over the past four decades. During a promotional event for Ariel's #sharetheload campaign, Anil, interviewed by Neha Dhupia, shared, "In my life, when I first met Sunita 50 years ago… When I met her, obviously, I was not doing very well financially. She would take care of a lot of things, and that’s how we shared the load. She stepped forward to share the load where money was concerned. It’s not only about doing household jobs.”

Anil further elaborated on Sunita's intuitive understanding of their financial situation during their dating years. "There were times when I couldn’t afford certain things, but I didn’t have to tell her. She would automatically… travelling, going out for meals, sometimes we’d go to a normal restaurant, sometimes we’d go to a slightly better restaurant when we were dating each other," he said. 

"Automatically, she knows that of course I don’t have the money to pay the bill. So, she quickly slips some money out of her bag, and before I can come to know, she’s already paid the bill," he added. 

For the unversed, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor have been married since 1984. Their daughter Sonam Kapoor, who was present during the interview, is an actress herself. The couple also has a younger daughter, Rhea Kapoor, a film producer, and their son Harshvardhan Kapoor, who is also an actor.

Recently, a man attempted a fraud worth Rs 6 lakh under the guise of offering a job at actor Akshay Kumar's production house. The accused, identified as Princekumar Rajan Anjanikumar Sinha (29), allegedly reached out to Pooja Anandani (28), a social media influencer, claiming to be a representative from Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films.

Princekumar, posing as Rohan Mehra from Cape of Good Films, reportedly contacted Pooja and promised her a lucrative position within the production house. He further enticed her by offering to arrange for a professional photoshoot by a renowned photographer associated with film star Amitabh Bachchan. However, to facilitate this purported opportunity, the accused demanded a sum of Rs 6 lakh from the social media influencer.

Sensing something amiss, Pooja decided to verify the accused’s claims. She contacted Akshay Kumar's production house directly and discovered that there was no employee by the name of Rohan Mehra or any ongoing recruitment process matching his assertions. Realising the attempted fraud, she wasted no time in alerting the authorities.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Juhu police swiftly took action and apprehended Sinha. It was revealed that Princekumar had fabricated details about an upcoming film project, falsely claiming that Pooja had been selected for a role. His elaborate scheme included arranging multiple meetings with Pooja under the pretext of organising the photoshoot and finalising the job offer.

Fortunately, due to Pooja’s vigilance and prompt action, the fraud was thwarted, and Sinha was taken into custody before any financial harm could be inflicted.

Bobby Deol recently completed filming for his upcoming project, Stardom. Directed by Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, this series has been generating considerable buzz among fans and critics alike as it marks the directorial debut of Khan Junior. The excitement stems from its promising storyline and a star-studded cast that includes Deol in the pivotal role. Stardom is a contemporary drama that offers a peek into the glamorous yet tumultuous world of showbiz.

In this series, Bobby Deol embodies a pivotal character crucial to the storyline's development. After months of work, Deol has successfully wrapped up shooting for Stardom. As per a report in India Today, a source said, "Bobby wrapped the shoot last month (March). The last schedule took place at YRF studio and Chitrakoot ground (Mumbai) where a set was built. He was a thorough professional and very dedicated to this project. The whole unit was very happy with his work.” With filming completed, he is now preparing for the next phase of production: dubbing.

The series, which began production in July last year, promises to be a star-studded affair with cameo appearances from some of Bollywood's biggest names, including Shah Rukh Khan himself, along with Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and Bobby Deol. Headlining the series is Lakshya Lalwani, who is set to portray a central role in this fictionalized narrative offering viewers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Hindi film industry.

Netflix hosted the premiere of Amar Singh Chamkila, in association with the prestigious MAMI Mumbai Film Festival on April 8th 2024, in Mumbai at PVR Dynamix, Juhu. The event was graced by the director Imtiaz Ali and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films, Netflix India and the screening was followed by an interactive session between Sucharita Tyagi, film critic, and Imtiaz Ali.

The premiere evening was attended by over 300 film enthusiasts including director of Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali along with Shabana Azmi, Mrunal Thakur, Sunny Kaushal, Daisy Shah, Mahima Makwana, Avneet Kaur, Pratik Sehejpal, Piyush Mishra, Sheeba Chaddha, Bhuvan Bam, Mrunal Thakur, Zanai Bhosle, Ajaz Khan, Moses Kaul, and Rohan Shah amongst others.

Imtiaz Ali was overjoyed to share his film with such a large audience. The film charts the untold true story of Punjab’s original rockstar of the masses, the highest record-selling artist of his time, who emerged from the shadows of poverty and rose to the heights of popularity in the 80s due to the sheer power of his music, angering many on the way, which finally led to his assassination at a young age of 27.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, Amar Singh Chamkila is Netflix’s ode to the vibrant life of the legendary Punjabi musician. Salman Khan grabbed attention this past weekend. The actor, who was last seen in Tiger 3, was seen spending time with politician Ashish Shelar along with his father, Salim Khan. The father-son duo grabbed lunch with the politician.

Ashish Shelar took to his Instagram account on Sunday to share a photo with Salman Khan and Salim Khan. The actor was seen wearing a grey t-shirt and brown pants whereas his father was donning a yellow shirt and pants. Shiva (1989):

The film was critically acclaimed for its realistic portrayal of the criminal underworld and won several awards. It made Bajpayee and his character Bhiku Mhatre known name.

Kaun (1999)

A psychological thriller, Kaun is a suspenseful tale set in a deserted house during a stormy night. Starring Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpayee, the film keeps the audience on the edge of their seats with its suspenseful narrative and unexpected twists. Even after 25 years, Kaun continues to thrill and scare the audience.

Sarkar (2005):

Inspired by The Godfather, Sarkar is a political crime thriller that follows the journey of a powerful political figure called Subhash Nagre aka Sarkar and his family. Starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role, the film was well-received for its gripping storyline and strong performances. It is also considered one of the best works of Abhishek Bachchan, who played Sakar’s son Shankar.

Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Present a T-Series Films & Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, ‘Srikanth - Aa Raha Hai Sabki Aankhein Kholne’, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar & Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. The much-awaited film Maidaan is all set to release next week. Produced by Boney Kapoor, it stars Ajay Devgn in the lead and will clash in cinemas with the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Bollywood Hungama recently spoke exclusively with Boney Kapoor and asked him if he ever thought of releasing the period sports drama in April-end or May. This is a period which is devoid of any big releases. Hence, Maidaan could have enjoyed a solo release.

Boney Kapoor, however, explained why that was not feasible saying, “One more film of Ajay is ready – Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. If I had scheduled Maidaan for a later date, even that film would have been shifted. This would have also affected his subsequent releases.” Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is directed by Neeraj Pandey and as per reports, it is scheduled to be released on June 14.

He revealed, “Moreover, this is a good period. Eid has always been lucky for me. Mr India (1987) was released on Eid and so was Wanted (2009).”

In the past, two films have released peacefully on the same day like Gadar 2 and OMG 2 or Animal and Sam Bahadur. But in the case of Dunki and Salaar, there were fights over screen sharing. Does Boney Kapoor anticipate that happening next week? Or have the screen-sharing issues been sorted already? The producer coolly replied, “I am easy that way. That anyway is for the distribution head to handle.”

When asked about the screen count for Maidaan, he replied, “I have no idea and I am not concerned about it. I am happy with the product and I am sure whichever way it is released, it’ll show its true colours. Agar Bade Miyan Chote Miyan ko zyada shows jaate hai, toh jaane do. We’ll see what the final lifetime number comes up to. I am sure even that film is going to make good numbers and perhaps it’ll open even better. Hence, I am mentally prepared. Kuch farak nahin padta hai. Also, Vashu Bhagnani is a friend of mine. I want his film to do very, very well. And of course, I want my film to also excel.”

Disney most recently announced an original musical feature helmed by filmmaker Gurinder Chadha. The creative mind behind hits like Bend It Like Beckham and Bride & Prejudice, Chadha's latest project promises to bring an Indian princess from history to life on the big screen. Insiders have disclosed that Chadha and Bhatt first crossed paths in January this year during the wedding festivities of Ira, daughter of Bollywood star Aamir Khan. The meeting seemingly sparked further interest in a potential collaboration between the filmmaker and the young actor. As per a report in Mid-day, a source revealed, “The two have been in talks for a while. The final casting will happen only after the script is developed, but Alia is among the top casting choices.”

While Alia Bhatt made her Hollywood debut last year with Heart of Stone, the actress has three projects in hand currently – Jigra by Vasan Bala, YRF’s spy universe project with Shiv Rawail and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The source added, “After playing a singer in Bhansali’s period drama and an undercover agent in Rawail’s movie, a Disney princess will be a great addition to Alia’s repertoire. Leading the big-budget international project will also be a step forward towards making her presence felt in Hollywood after Heart of Stone [2023]. If things fall in place, she will kick off work with Gurinder in the second half of 2025.”

Shah Rukh Khan's last release Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, captivated audiences with its grand visuals and immersive storytelling. But what many fans might not realize is the extensive use of visual effects (VFX) that brought the movie's world to life.

Red Chillies VFX, the in-house VFX studio of Shah Rukh Khan's production company, recently released a breakdown video showcasing the intricate work behind Dunki's visuals. The four-minute featurette offers a glimpse into the creation of some of the film's most stunning scenes.

The video delves into the invisible effects that elevated Dunki's cinematic experience. Remember the seamless camera movement showcasing Taapsee Pannu's character reminiscing in her village? That seemingly single shot was actually crafted with meticulous VFX work. Even seemingly simple scenes involved VFX wizardry. The scene where Vicky Kaushal's character sets himself ablaze was enhanced with computer-generated fire for added impact.

The breakdown video sheds light on how Dunki's expansive landscapes and thrilling journeys were achieved. Many of the environments the characters traverse, from trains to boats and even trucks, were computer-generated. The actors filmed these scenes against blue screen backdrops, with Red Chillies VFX crafting the realistic backgrounds we see in the final film.

The VFX breakdown offers some surprising details as well. Remember Shah Rukh Khan's daring underwater escape scene, where the characters dodge gunfire? Believe it or not, it wasn't filmed underwater at all! The scene was shot in a studio environment, and Shah Rukh Khan's hair was replaced with CGI to create the illusion of being wet. Similarly, close-up shots of wrinkled feet weren't achieved by actors dipping their feet in water - the wrinkles were meticulously added through visual effects.

Despite mixed reviews, Dunki earned decent at the box office, becoming the third-highest-grossing film of Shah Rukh Khan's career. His other two releases of last year, Pathaan and Jawan, exceeded Rs 1000 crores global box office collections.

Veteran playback singer Shaan recently opened up about a missed opportunity in director Rajkumar Hirani's film Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview with Galatta India, Shaan expressed his disappointment saying, "At this point in my career that song would have meant the sun and the moon for me.”

He further added, “To get to sing again for Shah Rukh Khan after Om Shanti Om, it would have been brilliant. The song was a beautiful duet with Shreya Ghoshal, it had great potential. It worked not just as a film song but had that ‘Hawayein Hawayein’  wala feeling. I was really counting on that but that’s life, it is okay.”

For the unversed, Shaan had recorded a duet titled ‘Durr Kahi Durr’  with singer Shreya Ghoshal for the film. However, during the editing process, director Hirani decided to remove the song. Shaan acknowledged the director's call, stating, "He was very transparent about it with me.. and I really appreciate that.. and I fully understand that the film is top priority,” on his X (formerly known as Twitter).

Despite the setback with Dunki, Shaan received a new opportunity from none other than A.R. Rahman. He lent his voice to a challenging song in Mani Ratnam's historical epic Ponniyin Selvan: II.

Shaan described the song as a "shouty rap song" portraying a fight scene. He initially questioned his suitability for the role, but Rahman encouraged him to take it on. Shaan considers this a significant challenge in his career.

In an interview with ETimes, Rubina Dilaik expressed gratitude towards the entire team of her Punjabi film who were not only supportive but also helped her prep for all kinds of medical emergencies. The actress revealed that her dance was a memory she made with her daughters and she would like to show them when they grow up. Speaking about the same, Rubina shared, “That time set pe kisi ko nahi pata tha (no one on the sets knew). I remember (my sister) Jyotika coming down taking care of me, mom coming down specially taking care of me during the schedule and I was really very careful. Doctors 24-7 on call rehte the. Bahut garmi thi, bahut zyada challenging tha but now when I look back, I have made a piece of memory for my daughters. And once they grow up, I'll proudly say that you were there with me dancing in the film. And this is what three of us, we did on screen.”

Apart from that, Rubina also opened up about how her mother has been supportive to her and the kids while she is looking at resuming work. She continued, “We are constantly on our toes. My mother is fully dedicated. She's like a rock-solid support in the family and it's just because of her that I have been able to step out for film promotions. As far as the environment is concerned, every time I try to step out, they start crying. We are trying to manage.”

On the other hand, experiencing motherhood has been an experience beyond happiness for Rubina who couldn’t stop gushing about her little ones. “Our mom says the Edhaa has resemblance to me, Jeeva thodi thodi (may be a little).”

KGF Star Yash has indeed agreed to play Ravan in the Rs. 360 crores budgeted adaptation of the Ramayan. But he will not be seen in Part 1 of the 3-part feature film omnibus.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan has begun shooting, although none of the supposed stars of the show—Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash—are part of the inaugural shooting.

A source close to the project informed, “(Producer) Namit Malhotra wanted to start the shooting on his birthday (April 2). So, they kind of rushed the shooting. It is only minor scenes with junior artistes.”

About the stars joining the shooting, the source added, “There is no clarity as yet on that, except for the fact that Yash has finally consented after months of dilly dallying. He is playing Ravan. But he will make an appearance only in the second feature film. They plan to release three separate films, and Ravan will not be part of the first film. Yash will shoot for Ramayan after he finishes shooting for Geetu Mohandas’s film Toxic.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show brought back Kapil Sharma alongside his gang of friends Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur and Archana Puran Singh with a whole lot more up their sleeves. Logon ne aa ke bola ki khatam ho raha hai sab kuch, tequila khatam ho raha hai. Rishi bole ki main toh itne leke aaya tha, khatam kaise ho sakta hai. The much-awaited filming of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is finally underway. Following a brief delay to rework on the outfits, the production has now commenced at Film City in Mumbai. After meticulous planning and adjustments, the team initiated the crucial phase of look tests with the updated costumes. In parallel, the production team was scouting for body doubles to complement the performances of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, who are set to embody the iconic characters of Lord Ram and Raavan respectively.

With the commencement of shooting today, April 2, 2024, anticipation among fans and the industry alike reaches new heights. Leading lady Sai Pallavi joins the ensemble, adding further excitement to the project. According to Mid-day, a source revealed, “After the body doubles are locked, they will be called throughout the week to shoot stunts against the green screen. On Monday, the extras were also called on the set to prep for the crowd sequences. Over the next few days, the team will shoot several elaborate scenes featuring a crowd. Nitesh wants everything perfect down to the last detail for his magnum opus.”

Previously, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “As we all know, Ramayana is going to be a three-part film. What many are not aware of is how the makers have divided the story for each part. The first part will introduce Lord Rama, his family at Ayodhya, his marriage with Sita and their 14-year vanvas. The first part is expected to end with the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana. The makers don’t want to rush the story and want to narrate the epic in an entertaining, sensitive and cinematic manner.”

The source added, “The second part is expected to depict Lord Ram and Lakshman meeting Lord Hanuman and the Vaanar Sena, the obstacles they face and finally the construction of Ram Setu. The third part is expected to be about the war between the Vaanar Sena and Ravana’s army, Ravana’s defeat and Lord Ram and Sita’s grand return to Ayodhya.”

The makers have extensively researched and worked on pre-production and if reports are to be believed, Ramayana will be announced on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, that is, on April 17, 2024. Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, his first release of 2024. The star is known to have multiple releases in a year and this year will be no exception. One of his exciting upcoming releases is the C Sankaran Nair biopic. It has been reported that the period drama, which went on floors last year, has been titled The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair. Some even say that it’s called Shankara. Bollywood Hungama has learned about the final approved title of this film, produced by Karan Johar.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The film is indeed being titled Shankara. After a lot of discussions, everyone came to the conclusion that Shankara is apt for this film and also has a Pan-India appeal. This name will be officially mentioned when the next press release or asset of the film is unveiled by the makers.”

Besides Akshay Kumar, Shankara also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, and it chronicles the lawyer’s battle against the British Raj to uncover Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer’s role in the ghastly 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’, written by Chettur Sankaran Nair’s great-grandson Raghu Palat and wife Pushpa Palat.

During the announcement of the film, Karan Johar said, “I am extremely excited and honoured to back the film that will unravel the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair’s bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.” Shankara will be helmed by debutant director Karan Singh Tyagi

Recently, Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke with Alexx O’Nell, who features in Shankara. He revealed that a major chunk of the shoot of the film is still pending. It now remains to be seen whether or not it makes it to cinemas this year.

Sara Ali Khan, who recently had twin releases like Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan, was seen showcasing her humanitarian side. A video of the actress helping some underprivileged people living down the streets have gone viral. Paparazzi accounts have shared it on social media where the actress has also requested them to refrain from capturing her.

In this video, Sara Ali Khan is seen distributing food to the people seated outside Shani temple, near the famous Isckon temple in Juhu, suburban Mumbai on Saturday. The actress was seen interacting with them and even giving out packets to everyone. While she was being captured by paparazzi, the people who she was distributing food to, were quite uncomfortable with the cameras and expressed the same. Coming in support of them, Khan too requested the camera personnel to refrain from shooting and also pleaded them to keep their cameras away. Once she finished distributing, she was seen making her way to the car before taking off home.

Many of her fans took to social media to appreciate her kind gesture and some of them were even pissed with the paparazzi for not abiding by her request of putting away their cameras. “One of the few new generation girl who is rooted in humanity and is absolutely humble. Earlier this year, the trailer of Monkey Man dropped on the internet and it created a sensation across the world. It is directed by Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire (2009) fame and he also features in the lead role. The action and violence in the trailer and also the treatment caught the attention and generated tremendous excitement. It had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 11 where it received a long standing ovation. The reaction at this film festival further added to the hype. It is all set to release in the USA and other major territories on April 5. In India, it was scheduled to release on April 19. But in the last few days, the assets dropped by Universal Pictures India on social media have stopped carrying the release date. Instead, 'Coming soon' is mentioned. Even on the popular ticket app BookMyShow, the release date of the film has vanished. It has led to fears that the film might not make it on April 19.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The studio wants to bring Monkey Man to theatres in India on April 19. But it all depends on its clearance by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film has excessive violence and there are fears that some of its aspects might hurt the sentiments of the section of the audience. Hence, the Censor process is expected to take time.”

The source added, “Also, the Universal Studios team in the USA also needs to permit the changes asked by the CBFC. Once they approve, the local team will carry out the changes and only then, the team will announce the release date.”

The source further said, “If the process gets completed on time, Monkey Man will be released in India on April 19. Or else, it’ll release a week later, on April 26. A clearer picture will emerge in a week’s time, hopefully.”

Monkey Man is the story of a young man who unleashes a campaign of vengeance against the corrupt leaders who murdered his mother. Besides Dev Patel, it also stars Sharlto Copley, Sikandar Kher, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vipin Sharma and others. It was earlier scheduled to premiere directly on Netflix. But later, Jordan Peele of Get Out (2017) and Us (2019) fame saw the film and he acquired it with the belief that the film deserves a theatrical release.

Parineeti Chopra will be seen in one-of-a-kind drama in Amar Singh Chamkila, which is a biopic on the 70s Punjabi singer by the same name. The film traces the rise and later, the murder of the musician who created history in North India with his music. With Diljit Dosanjh playing the titular character, Parineeti will be seen as his wife Amarjot in the Netflix film. Sharing her experience of working with the team which also includes Imtiaz Ali and A R Rahman, Parineeti took to social media to express her gratitude.

In her recent post shared on her Instagram feed, Parineeti Chopra posted several BTS moments from her film Amar Singh Chamkila which saw some unseen photos of her with co-star Diljit Dosanjh, director of the film, Imtiaz Ali, among others. Also penning a note of gratitude, she opened up about the great qualities of the team she worked with and said, “I’m immensely thankful for Chamkila @imtiazaliofficial sir, your direction was unparalleled; you truly led the ship with finesse. Your vision and passion set a new standard.” She continued, “@diljitdosanjh, you were the perfect co-star, making every moment on set enjoyable and effortless. @arrahman sir, being musically directed by you - a thing of dreams. The director was keen to have Kareena on board in Toxic from the inception of the project. Negotiations were on. Everyone presumed Kareena was being brought into the project as Yash’s leading lady when in fact Kareena was offered a far more powerful role. She has never been seen like this before.”

Veteran actor Satish Kaushik, who passed away in March 2023, will be posthumously seen on screen in the Arbaaz Khan-produced film Patna Shuklla. At the film's premiere, held on Thursday, Salman Khan, who starred alongside Satish Kaushik in several films, including Satish's directorial Tere Naam in 2003, got emotional as he remembered the late actor.

Salman expressed that Satish was very close to his family. “Humare toh bade hi close the woh. Aur sabse amazing cheez yeh hai ki unhone apni har… joh joh project pe woh kaam kar rahe the, woh sab unhone khatam kar diye. Every project of his… Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan mein bhi the voh (We were very close. The best thing was that he finished every project of his. He was there in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan also),” he said.

At the post-match presentation ceremony on March 25, Virat Kohli said, “We were not in the country. We were at a place where people were not recognising us. Just time together as a family, just to feel normal for two months. For me, for us as a family, it was a surreal experience.”

In another interview with Harsha Bhogle, Virat Kohli talked about the importance of family and said, “Of course, having two kids, things become totally different from a family perspective. So just the ability to be together, the connections that you make with your older child, it’s amazing. I mean, I couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity that I got to spend time with my family.” he added.

The cricketer reflected on the attention since he arrived in India. “And yeah, just the place that we were in, I was telling the guys that when we came back, the voices back home felt that much louder. I couldn’t look up because I was just not used to being called my name for two months. And then immediately you hear these loud noises and then you’re back in it all again. But it was beautiful. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognised and just carry on about life that normally people would on a daily basis,” he added.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli remained private about the second pregnancy. They announced the birth of their son through social media. Akaay Kohli was born on February 15 in London. Production giant T-Series has now responded to Reliance Entertainment's claims about non-payment of dues and called it false and bogus. In a public notice, Reliance Entertainment asked T-Series to cough up Rs. 397 crore. However, T-Series, in a statement, said that Reliance Entertainment is violating two judgements of Bombay High Court.

In an official statement, T-Series said, “The claims made by Reliance in its public notice are totally false & bogus. Reliance’s claims are also in clear violation of two judgements of the Hon'ble Bombay High Court passed in June 2023 and December 2023. In the first judgment delivered in June 2023, the Hon'ble Bombay High Court has clearly held in favour of Super Cassettes Industries Pvt Ltd (T-Series) - that the long form agreement is valid and subsisting and T-Series shall continue to have the copyright and the right to exploit and distribute the works, which have been listed by Reliance in their public notice. In the second judgement of December 2023 the Hon'ble Bombay High Court has clearly held that the statements of accounts given by T-Series to Reliance are valid and are in accordance with the Long Form Agreement..”

The statement further read, “Thus any claims made by Reliance now in respect of the non-payment of dues by T-series are in complete contradiction to the two court orders, completely bogus, without any basis and no amounts are due and payable by T-Series. All amounts under the Long Form Agreement stand paid to Reliance. Even recently T-Series had issued a response clearly bringing out the aforesaid facts to Reliance. It is thus indeed shocking that Reliance has chosen to issue the said notice and not even respect Court orders..”

It further read, “Also, besides being in violation of the aforesaid court orders, the said notice appears to be a desperate attempt by Reliance to obfuscate issues and wriggle out of its own liabilities and obligations under the Long form Agreement and the public notice has been issued with a malafide intent to defame T-Series. Filmmaker extraordinaire Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to make his digital debut with the much-anticipated web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. At the special event on Wednesday, it was confirmed that the series is premiering on streaming giant Netflix on May 1. The release date of this ambitious project was unveiled in a drone light show event held at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai.

Joining the celebration were the stars of the show, including the talented ensemble cast featuring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, and Tanya Bami, Director of Series at Netflix India, also graced the event.

Sonakshi Sinha expressed her admiration for Bhansali's visionary storytelling, describing the experience of working on Heeramandi as nothing short of enchanting. "We didn’t want to come out of his world, it was dreamy, stunning, and it was that captivating. For us as actors, it was an experience which we never had before," she shared.
