The torrential rains that engulfed Mumbai on Wednesday, September 25, brought the city to a near standstill, disrupting various aspects of life, including film productions. Salman Khan's upcoming action film, Sikandar, under the direction of AR Murugadoss, was one of the projects affected by the inclement weather.

According to a report in Mid-day, the film crew had been diligently working at the SRPF Ground in Goregaon since the end of August, preparing for an elaborate action sequence. However, the heavy rainfall forced a change of plans. The lighting setup required for the scene posed a significant risk of electrical short circuits, prompting the production team to prioritize safety and temporarily halt the shoot.

Salman Khan arrived at the set at 5 pm, prepared for an overnight shoot. A source close to the production revealed, "The shoot was to start at 7 pm, and the crew was on the set by 3 pm. But given the incessant rains, the direction team decided to call off the shoot for the day. The IMD had issued a red alert by then, and there was no way the team could have pulled off a night shoot in that weather."

Despite the setback, the production team remains optimistic about resuming filming on Friday, weather permitting. The source assured, "The two-day delay is not expected to affect the project’s overall schedule." Sikandar, which also features Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj, is being crafted as an action-packed film and is slated for an Eid 2025 release. Audiences were quite excited to see the return of the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De as the makers have kicked off the shoot of its sequel. Adding to their anticipation, reports announced that R Madhavan, who recently collaborated with Ajay Devgn for the horror film Shaitaan will be reuniting with the actor again for De De Pyaar De 2. In fact, reports even suggested that the makers have already started shooting for the project but the recent update is that the shooting had to be paused due to filmmaker Anshul Sharma.

The shooting of De De Pyaar De 2 kicked off in Patiala, Punjab but it has now been paused because director Anshul Sharma was diagnosed with dengue. The cast and crew had completed around 7-8 days of filming and were expected to continue until mid-October. However, due to the director's illness, the team has returned to Mumbai. A source said, "Once Anshul recovers, the team will plan a Mumbai shoot and resume the Patiala schedule at the earliest based on the actors' availability."

Speaking of the film, De De Pyaar De 2 will take forward the story of Ashish and Ayesha, wherein after receiving best wishes from Ashish’s family, the couple will now take another step in their relationship by meeting Ayesha’s side of the family. Buzz is that R Madhavan will be essaying the role of the suave young father of Ayesha aka Rakul Preet Singh who will not convinced with Ashish as his son-in-law which will lead to a series of several fun events.

With Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh reprising their roles as Ashish and Ayesha, a few other members of the star cast from the prequel are also expected to be a part of this romantic comedy. The film, produced by T-Series and Luv Films, is set for a May 1, 2025 release.

Bhumi Pednekar and Pulkit are set to reunite for a new project. The critically acclaimed duo previously collaborated on the Netflix film Bhakshak, a heart-wrenching retelling of the Muzaffarpur Shelter Case. Now, they are joining forces once again, with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment backing the project.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, while the rest of the cast is yet to be announced, the film is currently in its early stages of development. The project marks a dream come true for Pednekar, who has long expressed her admiration for Red Chillies and its founder, Shah Rukh Khan.

During a recent Q&A session, Pednekar revealed her childhood dream of working with the superstar, sharing a heartfelt video on her Instagram story. She said, "Honestly, an actor... Actor Kya superstar, childhood dream is SRK. I have come close because he has produced Bhakshak, and the cool thing is that Dunki and Bhakshak, both are trending on Netflix, which is so so so cool. Big shout out to Red Chillies. But mera dream hei, Shah Rukh sir. He is just the best."

According to legal sources, the 50-year-old actress has initiated divorce proceedings in a Mumbai court. As per a report in Hindustan Times, a source said, “After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms.”

Parvin Dabas has been hospitalized following a car accident in Mumbai. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, leaving the actor with serious injuries. His wife, Preeti Jhangiani, has spoken out about the ordeal, sharing details of the accident and her husband's condition.

"It's been a shock for all of us," Jhangiani revealed to Hindustan Times. "Parvin is usually so full of life, always talking about work. To see him lying there, quiet and inactive, is incredibly distressing."

The accident occurred when Dabas was driving home after a late-night work session. A sudden flash of headlights caused him to lose control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with a divider. Fortunately, he was close to a hospital, and two passersby rushed to his aid and brought him in.

Dabas is currently being treated for a concussion, which has left him with symptoms such as dizziness, double vision, drowsiness, and nausea. "He hasn't been able to talk much," Jhangiani explained. "Thankfully, his medical tests, including an MRI and CT scan, have come back clear. We expect him to be out of the ICU soon and will continue to monitor his progress."

Jhangiani has confirmed that Dabas was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. "He's always been very strict about driving safely and never drinks and drives," she stated.

The Pro Panja League, an organization co-founded by Dabas, released a statement expressing their concern and support for the actor. It read, “We regret to inform that Parvin Dabas, co-founder of the Pro Panja League, has been hospitalized and is in the ICU at Holy Family Hospital in Bandra following an unfortunate car accident in the early hours of Saturday morning. The highly anticipated third installment of Ajay Devgn's Singham franchise, Singham Again, is set to hit theatres this Diwali. As excitement builds, rumours have been swirling about a potential cameo by Salman Khan, reprising his role of Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg series. However, these speculations have been firmly squashed.

According to the source, “All the stories surrounding Chulbul Pandey being a part of Singham are fake and baseless rumours. No such announcement has been made by any production house regarding the same, nor has megastar Salman Khan shot for any such cameo.”

The source further added that there has been no official announcement from the makers of the production house producing the film. The news has gone viral, as fans have long wanted to see Salman Khan in this cinematic universe since Rohit Shetty revealed his desire to include him. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait some more time to see this union happen.

However, while Salman Khan may not be part of Singham Again, the actor will be making special cameo in other upcoming project. Khan will be seen in Varun Dhawan's Baby John, scheduled for release this Christmas.

The recent announcement of the fourth film in the Race franchise has got fans excited. What added on to the anticipation is the return of Saif Ali Khan to the franchise. The actor was the main lead in the first two films but was replaced by Salman Khan in Race 3.

The writer of Race 4, Shiraz Ahmed, who also penned the first three films of the franchise, shared details about the fourth film in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama. “Race 4 will go on floors in January (2025),” he said. “The script is almost completed and so is the casting. Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra’s casting is already out in the media. The rest of the cast will be revealed by the producers Tips Films at the right time in a proper announcement.”

Ahmed also revealed the story pattern for Race 4. “For Race 4, we have continued the story and characters from Race 1 and 2. We have gone back to the same world of the first two films,” he said.

Race 3 did earn money at the box office, but the film faced its share of criticisms. Reflecting on this, Ahmed said, “In Race 3, we shifted a bit from the Race franchise in terms of characters. If you remove the title ‘Race’ from the film, you will enjoy it. People went to see Race, but they got to see something else. We had Salman Khan in the film. So, you need to keep certain things in mind. He doesn’t play negative roles. Mainly, his fans would never like to see him in a negative role. So certain boundaries came about. Still, we tried to do whatever we could.”

Produced by Tips Films, the first two films in the Race franchise were directed by the duo Abbas-Mustan. The third film was helmed by Remo D’Souza. The director for Race 4 is not finalized yet.

Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light is now set to release across limited screens in Kerala from the 21st of September 2024. This is the first time the film will be released in Indian theatres. The film made history earlier this year at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it became the first Indian film ever to win the prestigious Grand Prix. Spirit Media founded by Rana Daggubati has the exclusive rights to distribute the film in India. The Indian Producers for the film Zico Maitra, Chalk and Cheese Films and Ranabir Das, Another Birth are based in Mumbai and have been on the journey with Kapadia over the last five years in bringing the film to life.

The film will have a limited screen run in the coming week in Kerala, home to one of the film's Indian languages. Subsequently, it will be released across all major cities in India. Details around the release are being locked, making the Kerala release the first milestone in the film's theatrical journey in India. The Malayalam title of the film is Prabhayay Ninachathellam.

Reflecting on the India theatrical release, Payal Kapadia said, “At the heart of the film are two women who come from Kerala to work and realise their life’s ambitions in Mumbai. So it is only appropriate that the first state to see the film in theatres is to be Kerala. I am excited for the film to be watched in all parts of India as our release progresses.”

Rana Daggubati, whose Spirit Media acquired the film for distribution in India, added,  “We are proud to be able to bring this incredible film to audiences in India, starting with Kerala where the two leading characters of the story are from. Indian cinema has a rich legacy of storytelling, and this film captures the Indian experience through characters speaking multiple languages coming from different parts of the country with similar shared dreams to a metropolis like Mumbai."

This is the first Indian film in over 30 years to enter the Main Competition of the Cannes Film Festival and marked Payal as the first Indian female filmmaker ever chosen for this competition. All We Imagine as Light was among 22 films competing for the Palme d'Or Award along with the likes of high-profile filmmakers such as Andrea Arnold, Francis Ford Coppola, Jia Zhang-Ke, Paolo Sorrentino, Sean Baker and Ali Abbasi.

Since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has been selected to be screened across several festivals globally including the Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, New York Film Festival and the San Sebastian Film Festival. The film is the frontrunner across Oscar Pundits to be nominated in the International Film category at the Academy Awards.

The Malayalam-Hindi feature starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon and Azees Nedumangad, All We Imagine as Light is the story of Nurse Prabha, whose routine is troubled when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, tries in vain to find a spot in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend. A trip to a beach town allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.

We started shooting two weeks ago, and are currently canning some elaborate action sequences at Bahubali Studio in Borivali. Binny And Family marks the acting debut of Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan. The highly anticipated concert of Diljit Dosanjh, scheduled for October 26 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, has met with controversy after a Delhi-based law student filed a legal notice against the organizers. The student, Riddhima Kapoor, accused the organizers of the Dil-Luminati Tour of violating consumer rights and engaging in unfair trade practices during the ticket sales process.

Kapoor claimed that despite being a registered HDFC Credit Card holder, she was unable to secure a ticket for the concert. She alleged that the organizers had announced the opening of the booking window for September 12 at 1 PM, but the tickets went on sale at 12:59 PM, leaving many fans empty-handed.

The legal notice alleged that the sudden unavailability of tickets was a result of manipulation and scalping practices by the organizers. Kapoor asserted that the organizers were artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

“This abrupt and suspicious transaction strongly suggests manipulation and scalping practices. The sudden unavailability of tickets indicates that your organisation may be artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The practice of scalping and hoarding of tickets with an intent to resell them at inflated prices is a clear violation of consumer rights and an act of bad faith,” the Free Press Journal quoted the notice.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police have issued a warning against fraudulent ticket sales for the concert. The police shared a video on social media, urging people to be alert and avoid falling victim to online scams. "Be cautious about online fraud and protect yourself," the police caption read.

Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati Tour is set to kick off in Delhi and will then travel to other cities across India, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati. The Delhi concert offered two ticket categories: Fan Pit, priced at Rs. 19,999, and Gold (Phase 3), priced at Rs. 12,999. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to venture into solo production for his upcoming epic period drama, Love & War. The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is slated to begin production early next month. Bhansali's decision to self-produce the film comes on the heels of the successful launch of his web series debut, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, on Netflix. Riding on the wave of this success, Bhansali has reportedly inked a substantial post-theatrical deal with the streaming giant.

As per a report in Mid-day, industry sources have revealed that Netflix has committed a base price of Rs. 130 crore for the streaming rights of Love & War. However, the final figure is expected to increase based on the film's box-office performance. In addition to the Netflix deal, Bhansali has also secured a lucrative music rights agreement with Saregama for an estimated Rs. 35 crore. Furthermore, Bhansali is in advanced negotiations with a leading television network for the satellite rights, with the estimated value of the deal hovering around Rs. 50 crore.

The ambitious period drama, Love & War, is estimated to have a production budget of approximately Rs. 200 crore, excluding the remuneration of the lead actors. Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal have reportedly opted for back-end deals with Bhansali, meaning their fees will be tied to the film's theatrical performance. Ranbir Kapoor, in particular, is said to have secured a significant share of the theatrical revenue.

Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported last month that Akshay Kumar-starrer Tirangaa is not a remake of the 1993 film of the same name, starring Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. Bollywood Hungama has now learned of another exclusive information about the film – it’ll be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.

A source told us, “The producers of the film – Ashvin Varde, Subhash Kale and Narendra Hirawat – along with Akshay Kumar realized that Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan will be an apt choice to handle a film like this and give it the required commercial treatment. This is how the acclaimed director came on board.”

The source further said, “Tirangaa is expected to go on floors by December 2024.”

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan has earlier directed Lahore (2010) and 72 Hoorain (2023) and both won National Awards. He was also one of the writers of Ranveer Singh’s cricket drama, ’83 (2021).

Sanjay and Akshay came close to working together for a film named Gorkha. It was to be produced by Aanand L Rai and after the announcement, it was shelved. In January 2023, Aanand L Rai told Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, it is true. We are not making this film for now. There are technical issues. There are factual clarifications that need to be made.”

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was also going to make Chandamama Door Ke, a space film starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput.

On August 10, Narendra Hirawat denied reports that Tirangaa is the remake of the old film of the same name. He shared a statement with Bollywood Hungama which said, “In the last few days, there have been a few media reports stating that we are producing a remake of the film Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue. Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film. It is a completely new and original script. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”

Sunita Ahuja, the star wife of 90s famous star Govinda, recently was seen showing off her candor in an interaction where she discussed several aspects of being a star wife along with also addressing subjects related to her husband’s career and stardom. In the same interaction, she was also asked about the different reality show offers like Bigg Boss that came her way for being Govinda’s wife, to which the star wife counter questioned if anyone would ask such questions to star wife – Gauri Khan, who is married to Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

In the recent session of Timeout with Ankit, Sunita Ahuja responded to being approached for Bigg Boss wherein she also revealed that there have been offers for Bigg Boss OTT as well but refused to participate in it because she asserted that a person with her status should be hosting it and not be a contestant. “They’ve been making me offers for the last four years. For the OTT version as well, the one hosted by Anil Kapoor.  They came to me twice for that, and I told them, ‘Are you mad? You think I clean toilets?’ You ask me this question, but tell me, would you ask Shah Rukh Khan’s wife the same thing? Do you think we’re struggling financially? I don’t even watch Bigg Boss.” She added, “I told them, ‘Do you even know who you’re talking to right now? Come to me if you want me to host alongside Salman Khan’,”.

In the same interaction, she also opened up about Koffee With Karan and asserted that if she would ever be on the show, she would be quite entertaining.  Mentioning that she is ‘still waiting for invite’, Sunita reacted to the question if she is ‘irritated’ about not being invited on the show. Answering the same, she shared, “Why would I be irritated? It’s his show, it’s up to him who he wants to invite. Although if he invites me he’ll certainly attract ratings! Karan’s also a Gemini, so am I. We’ll have a ball.”

Netflix has come in defense of its highly-acclaimed Korean show Squid Game which is currently facing plagiarism charges filed by Bollywood filmmaker Soham Shah. The latter, in his lawsuit, has alleged that the basic plotline of the popular web-series is inspired by his 2009 survival drama Luck which marked the debut of Shruti Haasan in Hindi Cinema and featured Imran Khan as the male lead. However, the streaming giant has denied its claims.

As per a TMZ report, after Sohum Shah filed a complaint against Netflix for this ‘blatant rip off’ the latter has issued a statement asserting denial and maintain that the claim has no merit. Furthermore, revealing how Squid Game was created by and written by Hwang Dong Hyuk, Netflix has also added that they would ‘defend this matter vigorously’. Meanwhile, Sohum Shah has taken a firm stand insisting about pursuing this lawsuit. According to his statement, he has pointed out that the main plot, characters, themes, mood, setting and sequence of events of Squid Game are strikingly similar to that of Luck, further adding that such similarities could not be just a coincidence.

Speaking about the show, Squid Game features over 400 contestants, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, as they participate in a secret contest where they play a series of popular Korean children's games involving a risky twist, making it a matter of life and death. On the other hand, Luck which featured an ensemble cast with Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Chitrashi Rawat, Danny Denzongpa, among others features a few contestants who decide to get involved in a game of ‘luck’ to get rid of their financial crisis, where defeat is synonymous to death. While Squid Game released its first season in 2021 on Netflix, Luck released in theatres way back in 2009.
