In her new vlog on YouTube, actor and television personality Archana Puran Singh reflected on Kapil Sharma’s early life struggles and the emotional depth behind his humor. Joined by her husband Parmeet Sethi and their sons Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, Archana visited music composer Yashraj Mukhate at his home, where candid conversations revealed the inspiration behind one of India’s most celebrated comedians.

When Yashraj expressed his admiration for Kapil, saying he still finds him “underrated,” Archana replied, “That’s so sweet. Main Kapil ko bolungi. He is supremely talented and has an amazing presence of mind. He still surprises me with his punches. I have seen him performing from the last15 years. Usmein bahut depth hai; itna humour aa hi nahi sakta agar aapmein depth na ho. Music and art kuch nahi aa sakta agar aap mein depth na ho toh.”

She elaborated, “If you can make someone laugh, it means there’s a lot of pain inside you. Kapil has witnessed immense struggle—his childhood was marked by poverty, and he lost his father to cancer. Despite all this, he was gifted with the rare talent to make the world laugh.” Yashraj added by saying, “His skill is truly unmatched.”

Addressing long-standing criticism about her on‑camera laughter, Archana clarified that earlier laughter on shows like Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show was often artificially inserted by editors, “When people say ki aap unnecessary hasate ho…pehle toh edit ka nonsense tha comedy circus ke time, meri hasi zabardasti daalte the. The punch wasn’t even good; my laugh was edited after that, and I used to look really ridiculous. But yes, the agar joke is 19‑20, then I have to make it 21, but it can’t be a 5…”

Now that editing practices have evolved, she assured that her laughter on current shows is more genuine and earned. This vlog not only offered a peek into Archana’s personal reflections but also renewed appreciation for Kapil Sharma’s remarkable rise from hardship to Hindi comedy stardom.

A.R. Murugadoss director of Sikandar starring Salman Khan. Released as a pan-India project, the film failed to meet expectations from both fans and critics. Speaking for the first time about its underwhelming performance, Murugadoss reflected on the experience, noting that the sense of satisfaction and emotional connection one feels when creating a film in their mother tongue is often missing when working in other languages.

In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, AR Murugadoss explained, “Only when a film is made in one's mother language can the behaviour, culture, and what the audience wants of that community be understood. Accordingly, trends can be incorporated into the film. That will create a strong connection. But this is not possible when doing films in other languages. You just have to trust the script.”

AR Murugadoss also shared the challenges he faces while directing films in Hindi, particularly in grasping the language and its cultural nuances. “The dialogue we write is translated in several stages. The question arises as to what that original idea is. As a director, only if you understand the language well can you infuse the full emotion into the film. That is why my full potential can only be revealed in mother language films,” said Murugadoss with conviction.

AR Murugadoss’s statement surprised many, especially since Sikandar wasn’t his first venture into Hindi cinema. Previously, he had directed Ghajini, a remake of his own Tamil film, and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty starring Akshay Kumar, which was also adapted from a Tamil original. While both films were well-received—Holiday in particular garnered positive reviews and was commercially successful—Sikandar marked a departure as it was an original script rather than a remake, setting it apart from his earlier Hindi directorials.

The Saiyaara craze has taken the country by storm, catapulting Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to instant fame. During a recent conversation with Komal Nahta, director Mohit Suri shared that Ahaan was initially supposed to debut in a grand YRF project, but it was ultimately scrapped. He also mentioned spending four months working closely with Ahaan to help him look more mature on screen.

Mohit Suri revealed that Ahaan and Aneet each had distinct paths leading up to their debut. He said, “Ahaan has been doing acting workshops with YRF for the last seven years. Before COVID, Ahaan and YRF were planning a grand, larger-than-life film. But post-COVID, cinema changed, and the project was dropped. The same guy who was telling everyone about his big launch—his pride and confidence were completely shattered.”

He went on to say, “People began asking him, ‘Weren’t you supposed to be launched by YRF? What happened now?’ I just know that Aditya Chopra called him after COVID and told him, ‘My faith in you hasn't diminished, but I won’t mind if you start your career elsewhere.’ But Ahaan responded, ‘No, I’ll be launched by YRF only.’ Vo bach gaya. kyunki agar pehle launch hota toh bhut chota lagta. I spent four months with him to make him appear more mature.”

The romantic musical drama follows the journey of Krrish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a struggling musician in pursuit of fame and success. Along the way, he meets Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), an aspiring journalist who later becomes his lyricist. As their relationship blossoms into love, they face several hurdles that put their connection and strength to the test. The film resonated deeply with audiences and has gone on to become the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema.

The much-awaited action-comedy Son of Sardaar 2 is all set to storm cinemas this Friday, August 1, 2025. Headlined by Ajay Devgn and backed by Jio Studios, the film’s advance bookings are now officially open — and to sweeten the deal for fans, the makers have announced a special Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) ticket offer, applicable only for first day shows across select theatres.

The promotional offer is a strategic push to boost footfalls on opening day and create early buzz for the sequel, which follows up on the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar. The film promises to retain the franchise’s signature mix of slapstick humour, over-the-top action, and Punjabi family drama — all centred around Devgn’s larger-than-life persona.

'SON OF SARDAAR 2' ADVANCE BOOKINGS OPEN – BOGO OFFER ANNOUNCED... #SonOfSardaar2 advance bookings are now LIVE.#AjayDevgn and #JioStudios have announced a special BOGO [Buy One Get One] free ticket offer – valid only for *first day shows*. Releasing in cinemas THIS FRIDAY [1… pic.twitter.com/YfIMIsGuMf

— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) July 30, 2025

However, despite the fanfare, Son of Sardaar 2 faces an uphill battle at the box office. The film’s release is wedged between two high-profile titles — Saiyaara, which continues to dominate screens since its release last Friday, and the much-hyped War 2, slated to release just a week later on August 8. Both films have strong brand pull and big stars, creating stiff competition and potentially dividing audience attention and screen space.

Additionally, while the BOGO offer may help drive higher occupancy on Day 1, it could also impact the film’s opening day revenue. With one free ticket given for every purchase, net collections for Friday could take a hit, particularly in urban centres where the offer is expected to see significant uptake. While this may work to Son of Sardaar 2’s advantage in terms of packed houses and social media chatter, it could dampen the immediate financial return — a factor that holds weight in today’s aggressively competitive box office landscape.

Nevertheless, the film benefits from Ajay Devgn’s mass appeal and the nostalgia attached to the first installment. If early audience reactions are positive, the film could find its footing through strong word-of-mouth, especially in single screens and smaller centres where Devgn continues to draw a loyal base.

As Friday approaches, all eyes will be on how Son of Sardaar 2 navigates the crowd and the commerce — and whether this gamble of timing and ticketing will pay off.

Tanishaa Mukerji has come out strongly in defence of the recently released romantic musical Saiyaara, after a podcast speaker accused the film’s team of paying Gen-Z audiences to create emotional scenes in theatres for promotional purposes.

The controversial statement was made during The Asymmetric Crew podcast, which featured the creator of The Barber Shop with Shantanu. A speaker, during a candid segment, alleged that the emotional reactions seen in theatres post-Saiyaara screenings were not genuine. “What's happening with this ridiculous Saiyaara movie. The producer of this movie, in my view, has paid ₹500 in dehadi to lots of these Gen-Z young folks to go into these theatres and put on emotional performances of crying… This is how the movie is getting promoted by the way. The whole world has now become a bunch of performers,” the speaker claimed, sparking outrage online.

In a sharp rebuttal, actress and producer Tanishaa Mukerji dismissed the criticism, calling it baseless and regressive. “Completely disagree. Times are changing and these people are stuck in the past. Love and appreciate the new. And honestly, what rubbish is this man saying? Does he know anything for a fact. He is using the phenomenon of Saiyaara to get views by talking negatively. If people are reacting to a film what is so wrong about that. Just because he cannot relate doesn’t mean the younger generation doesn’t either. Every generation is different. This is India. We react. Go watch the film see how the audiences are moved. Then talk. This is just Bollywood bashing! Brands just have to find new ways to connect to their audiences!” Tanisha said in a strongly worded statement.

Saiyaara has become somewhat of a cultural moment ever since its release, especially among younger audiences. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Ahaan Panday, nephew of veteran actor Chunky Panday, alongside newcomer Aneet Padda. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film blends soulful music with an intense love story.

While the debate rages on about modern film marketing and audience behavior, Tanishaa’s statement has sparked an important conversation on generational shifts and how emotion-driven content connects with evolving viewers.

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, brings back the charm of old-school romantic storytelling in Hindi cinema with its captivating visuals and soulful music. One such track is ‘Tum Ho Toh’, composed by Vishal Mishra, sung by Vishal Mishra and Hansika Pareek, with lyrics penned by Raj Shekhar. In a recent YRF video, the team behind the song shared insights into its creation.

Talking about the creation of ‘Tum Ho Toh’, Mohit Suri said, “Vishal and me go a long way, and while everyone is going to him with the very serious, somber, angsty songs, I said, there’s a happy side to you, Vishal. There’s a fun side to you, and let’s make a song on that side. But still in the romantic thing, which is not emotionless. And that’s how ‘Tum Ho Toh’ came.”

Singer Vishal Mishra shared his experience working with Mohit Suri, saying, “He believes that I should make more fun songs. And he said, I want you to make a song that is fun yet soulful, yet romantic, and yet very exuberant of young love. It was beautiful. So we had to make a very fresh song. And Raj Shekhar was there and he came up with my most favorite line of the song. That if you are around me, everything is just beautiful.”

Raj Shekhar said, “Mohit sir’s brief was to create a song that carries the energy of youth but also has a certain stillness to it. Like one of the lines says, ‘Even recklessness with you feels like peace.’ I had written the initial part of the song first, and Vishal composed it based on that. From there, the song started to take shape.”

Talking about working with Vishal Mishra, Mohit Suri said, “Vishal hears a brief of the whole film and the story and he says what is the thought you know it just comes to him it’s like ‘I’m feeling this, I’m feeling that’. You know what I like about Vishal is he can work with you for the whole day and then turn around and tell you we need to make something better.”

Describing the emotion behind the song, Raj Shekhar said, “It’s about two people coming together and trying to find eternity in a single moment. I feel that when two beautiful hearts meet, that one moment becomes something that lasts forever.”

Vishal added, “It comes from a beautiful place, a Sufi space. So it’s special for me, very, very special to Raj ji, and to Mohit as well. I want you to go and give it all your love—make it your own song. You’ll find a part of yourself in it, some vulnerable, scattered piece of your soul.”

Though a little late in catching the film in theatres, Anand was visibly moved by the cinematic experience, calling it a masterpiece of craft and emotion.

In his heartfelt post, Siddharth wrote, “A little late to the party. Had heard so much about the film already. Apart from it being the blockbuster of course. Went in to the film with all these expectations. And yet! Just LOVED IT!!! Just wow! Here’s a filmmaker at his finest! His craft at its peak. His conviction unhinged!”

Tagging director Mohit (handle @mohit11481), he continued, “You have given the audience in me such a ride! I wanted to step outside the theatre and give you a big hug!! I’m so happy seeing your best film!!! (Arguably maybe) But I believe it is!!”

In what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated tracks of the year, Bollywood Hungama can exclusively confirm that the hitmaking team behind the iconic ‘Kesariya’—director Ayan Mukerji, composer Pritam, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, and singer Arijit Singh—are reuniting for a romantic track in War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.

The track, which is expected to drop this week, will be the first song from War 2 to be released, just ahead of the film’s grand Independence Day weekend opening on August 14, 2025. The internet has been buzzing with chatter about this reunion, and now, the collaboration has been officially confirmed by Yash Raj Films, the producers of the upcoming spy action thriller.

While YRF spokesperson confirms the latest update, they refrained from giving away plot details, but a source close to the development reveals, “It is a beautiful track that shows the romance between Hrithik and Kiara’s characters in War 2. The song is soft, emotional, and soulful—very different from the high-octane tone of the film. It will reveal the backstory of their relationship.”

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that the romantic ballad is actually a flashback number, shedding light on Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) and Kavya (Kiara Advani) and their past connection. Shot in the scenic locales of Rome and Tuscany, glimpses of the shoot had leaked online months ago, creating a frenzy among fans eager to witness this on-screen pairing’s chemistry.

With the creative forces behind Kesariya at the helm, expectations are already soaring. The emotional resonance of that song had struck a chord with millions, and this upcoming track aims to do the same, this time within the intense world of espionage and betrayal. Arijit Singh, who earlier delivered the chartbuster Ghungroo with Hrithik in War (2019), returns to lend his voice once again—this time for a more intimate and heartfelt melody.

While War 2 promises to be a visual spectacle and high-stakes action drama—especially with the formidable face-off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.—this flashback love song adds a touch of vulnerability and emotional complexity to Kabir’s arc. For fans, it’s a glimpse into what Kabir once had and what may have shaped the man he has become.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Aditya Chopra under the YRF Spy Universe, War 2 is set for a Pan-India release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil across theatres and IMAX screens. Following the blockbuster response to its teaser and trailer, this song release is poised to be the next big moment in the campaign—and it couldn’t come at a better time.

With a musical dream team at work and Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani front and centre in a roles that promise both action and aching emotion, this track is expected to set the tone for what could be the most memorable love story in the Spy Universe yet.

The high-octane action drama, headlined by superstar Yash, boasts an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Oberoi, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and more. And what’s setting the buzz ablaze is the revelation that every lead actor in the film is performing their own stunts, yes, including the fierce female stars.

Sources close to the film have confirmed that Toxic is designed as a gritty, high-impact action film, where the makers insisted on raw, real action sequences, performed by the actors themselves under the close supervision of a professional stunt and action team.

Akshay Oberoi, who is known for his commitment to physical roles, has reportedly been undergoing intense action training for months. Alongside him, Yash, known for redefining mass action cinema, is also executing his stunts, ensuring a visceral visual experience for the audience. As the Hindi film industry navigates fierce competition from South Indian cinema, booming OTT platforms, and rapidly shifting audience tastes, Tahir Raj Bhasin views this moment not as a crisis, but as a transformative opportunity. In a candid interview, he invoked the example of Shah Rukh Khan in the 1990s, hoping to emulate the same blend of disruption and charisma that defined that era's cinema.

Currently earning rave reviews for his role as 'The Collector'—a powerful antagonist in Neeraj Pandey’s Special Ops 2—Tahir has carved a respected place in Hindi cinema without the backing of a traditional film family. Reflecting on SRK’s influence, he explained:

“90s SRK was disruptive. It was the villain in Baazigar and the charmer that we saw in DDLJ. SRK today is an icon, but what he was doing in the 90s, were all the kind of heroes like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, who were flawed and had an element of charm to them. And so comes the idea to me that I would lend my skill to stories that are disruptive and drive them as entertainingly as possible.”

Tahir describes Bollywood as a “living organism” that must evolve, “It evolves and has to change and adapt to the time and to the audience.” He added, “Only in times of change can new experiments and new things be tried out.”

On the OTT versus theatrical experience, he stated, “There’s a charm in seeing a film in a theatre with a large community in a dark room and great surround sound,” “But then there are some stories that are better told in an episodic format on OTT.”

Tahir also shared how Special Ops 2 gained a surprisingly balanced and enthusiastic response, particularly from female fans, “I thought the genre would appeal more to a male audience because of the action and espionage. But the response has been very balanced.” He added, “You always want to leave the audience feeling like they want to know more. Curiosity is the best way to engage with your audience.”

Looking ahead, Tahir hinted at a diverse upcoming slate, including a mystery thriller for Netflix opposite Parineeti Chopra. He said, “Absolutely. We’re looking at a bunch of scripts. It’s always about finding the right part.”

A declared “hardcore Bollywood buff,” he shared he’s open to transitioning into romantic hero roles if the script resonates with him.

Tahir Raj Bhasin came into the limelight with Mardaani (2014), where he played the ruthless and suave villain. 11 years later, he once again gets into the villain zone with Special Ops 2. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the dashing actor spoke about the feedback, his journey and a lot more.

How has the feedback been for Special Ops 2? It’s incredible. I am over the moon at the moment! It's out of this world; it's 3 times what I expected. If you get to be a part of the show that has already set a benchmark in Season 1, then you know that you are shouldering the responsibility of upping that benchmark. And when fans write to you and appreciate your part, it’s the best thing an actor can get.

What are the fans saying? On social media, people are saying stuff like ‘Gadar character’ and ‘Jhakaas acting’. Some are asking why I didn’t listen to the full thumri, something I had requested from the Banaras artists! The philosophy of the Collector has connected with the people. So, it was great to see that from the acting to the way the character carried himself to the locations, people have invested in various aspects of the show.

How did you bag the show? Did you approach director Neeraj Pandey, or was it the other way round? I was approached by Neeraj Pandey’s office. That itself was a big compliment because getting a chance to go head-to-head with Kay Kay Menon was a feat. I have always admired Neeraj Pandey’s work. I grew up watching A Wednesday (2008) and Special 26 (2013). For me, his work comes under the realism-meets-style category. I resonate with it as my acting is also on the same lines.

When I was called, I went to meet him. From the minute he narrated the first scene, where the antagonist is introduced listening to classical music, I was hooked, as it was so unusual!

Since Neeraj Pandey is known to do extensive research and incorporate true events or characters, was your part also inspired by any real person? I won’t say one person but my characters and the plot were inspired by multiple people or episodes. The names might have been changed while depicting the cyber attack references in the show, but they are all real issues, be it corporate espionage or national security. That’s what I like about Neeraj Pandey’s writing – it is rooted in research. If the show was made 10 years ago, it would have been categorized as science fiction, but today, everything that the Collector is shown indulging in is a reality. It raises an important question: What is security anymore? Conventionally, you would see an antagonist fighting with guns or muscles. But here, it's just with a VPN and your data.

How was it to shoot with Neeraj Pandey? I have heard that he’s particular about his script and prefers to shoot exactly as per the writing… Yes. In fact, he’s also a man of few words. In a day or two, you will understand what he wants to convey. Because he invests time in writing the script himself, he is very particular. He is like ‘Pause yahaan par hai toh yahin par rakho’, ‘emotion yahin change hona chahiye’, etc. He has the same approach even to his shot-taking. He has a lot of clarity. He sees the edit before he gets on the set.

Interestingly, you and Kay Kay Menon don’t have scenes together… Yes, and thank you for realizing that. People are asking me, ‘What was it like shooting with Kay Kay Menon’. And I tell them that ‘I haven’t shot with him’!

But did you regret not sharing screen space with him despite being a part of the same show? I won’t say I regretted it, but I knew that for a genre like this, the fact that we never met and the way it was done was fascinating. Our confrontation was minimal; many remarked that they wanted to see more of it. But I feel that leaving viewers at a point where they want to see more is always better than them complaining ki ‘Yeh bahut zyada ho gaya’. It was minimal yet impactful. Going forward, I’d love to work with him again and hopefully we’ll share the screen together.

In the show, we noticed that the word ‘UPI’ was changed to ‘OBI’. Why was that done? Honestly, you act according to the creative directions being given to you. I am sure that they had creative reasons behind doing so. I am not very clear on what the reason was. Yes, you are right; it was changed. But the audience, by and large, understood as my character also says that it's an attack on the country’s financial institution. There’s also a line that ek bhikhari se lekar ek businessman tak, sab use karte hai. Hence, people knew what we were referring to.

It’s been a while since you worked in a film and you have concentrated mainly on OTT shows. I have noticed that you have kept a healthy balance of playing protagonist as well as antagonist, be it with Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein or Sultan Of Bombay and now Special Ops 2. Was that intentional? Yes, 100%. OTT is a great space where you can experiment a lot. The kind of stories that you can tell there can be out-of-the-box. Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein starts as a love triangle. Then it goes wrong and the character turns grey. Sultan Of Delhi is a typical Milan Luthria gangster type of drama. So, the goal is always to not get set in one mould. You create a mould and then you break it. I am drawn to lead parts that are disruptive. The same goes for the character of Collector in Special Ops 2. When he enters the story, it leads to a plot twist. That’s what my one-line bio would be – I am the plot twist!

Next month, in August, your first major film Mardaani will complete 11 years. Even there, we saw you as a ruthless villain. It was made by Yash Raj Films (YRF) and you are a YRF talent. Recently, their blockbuster film Saiyaara was released and the way the lead newcomer actors didn’t do pre-release interviews was appreciated. It reminded me how even you were not revealed to the media before Mardaani’s release and when you finally came out for a post-release press conference, it was lapped up. You recently stressed on ‘less is more’ principle when it comes to your work. Do you prefer that in real life as well?

I can only speak for Mardaani. And it was intentional, as there was a mystery to my character. There was an intrigue to know who he is. And it matched up with what the overall story was. It’s a part I always count as one of my favourites because, again, it was disruptive. You don’t get to see such roles and that’s why it stood out. There was a lot of love for it, both from within the industry and the audience. Also, the idea to not go overboard with the PR before the film release helps maintain the curiosity. It’s always been my belief and I know that my agency believes the same, that let your work do the talking. Once people are convinced about your work, then even a conversation makes more sense.

I remember watching Mardaani on the first day of release and while exiting the theatre, patrons were discussing you. They wanted to know who you were and what your name was. It indeed left a huge impression… Thank you so much. 11 years after that film, I got a chance to play an all-out antagonist in Special Ops 2. It's great to see that it’s getting almost the same kind of appreciation.

Will you be back in Mardaani 3? I would love to return but unfortunately, in the first part, my character was killed! Unless someone creates a character of a twin brother, I don’t think it's possible (smiles).

What next from your side? I just finished shooting a fun series. It co-stars Parineeti Chopra. It’s a mystery drama, directed by Rensil D’Silva. It will air on Netflix.

Are you looking at returning to films? Yes. There are scripts on the table and it's all about finding the correct project.

Salman Khan took to Instagram recently to share a reflective and deeply personal note, quoting a thought-provoking piece of advice from his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. “Present becomes yr past, past catches up 2 your future, present Is a gift, do right with it, mistakes repeated becomes a habit n then your character, dont blame any 1, no 1 can make u do anything that u don’t want to. My dad just said this to me, it’s so true. Kash I heard this earlier but never too late,” wrote Salman.

The post comes at a significant time for Khan, who is currently gearing up for one of the most ambitious roles of his career. According to recent reports, the release date of Battle of Galwan has been pushed from its initially speculated Eid 2026 window. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “This is because three films are already scheduled for release on March 19, 2026 – Yash-starer Toxic, the comic caper Dhamaal 4, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s intense romantic drama Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.”

While Salman Khan hasn’t commented on the revised timeline, his focus seems to be on both self-growth and embodying the real-life heroism of Col. Santosh Babu. His post, filled with quiet wisdom and emotional resonance, reminds fans that even the biggest stars are constantly evolving — sometimes, with just a few words from a father.

If the buzz in the industry is anything to go by, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 is officially in the pipeline, nearly two decades after the cult satirical comedy first hit theatres in 2006. The original film—starring Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Navin Nischol, Pravin Dabbas, Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, and Vinay Pathak—earned widespread acclaim for its quirky yet grounded portrayal of middle-class Delhi and its battle against corruption and real estate scams.

According to a recent Pinkvilla report, the sequel is now in active development, with Umesh Bisht and his team at the helm of scripting and casting. A source close to the project confirmed, “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 script is locked and presently in the casting stage. The team is aiming to start by November this year for a 2026 release. Much like the first part, this one too is an outright comic entertainer.”

The biggest update so far is the addition of actress Huma Qureshi to the ensemble. The source further revealed, “Huma has come on board as one of the main characters of Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. She heard the script and loved what is on paper. The film will most likely be produced by T-Series, and the modalities are being worked out at the moment.”

Interestingly, Huma Qureshi has been expanding her creative reach. Alongside acting, she has launched a production house with her brother and fellow actor, Saqib Saleem. “Huma has also started her own production house with her brother and the first film, Baby Do Die Do is scheduled to release soon,” the source added.

While the return of original cast members like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani is yet to be officially confirmed, anticipation is running high among fans who made the first film a sleeper hit.

In the meantime, Huma is also juggling a packed slate with the Yash-starrer Toxic, OTT projects, and now, her debut venture as a producer. Fans of the film are quite excited about this news where Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 with its witty tone and timeless relevance is all set to revive the laughter and layered satire that made the first film a classic.

Veteran filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, known for iconic films like Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, and 3 Idiots, recently shared a hard-hitting critique of Bollywood's evolving culture during an episode of Creator x Creator hosted by SCREEN. The filmmaker opened up about his experiences with now-celebrated actors and how success often alters personalities and artistic intent.

“There is more purity in new people, less corruption. Many people who assisted me have become great filmmakers today; when I meet them now, I can see the difference. When they worked with me, there was a certain purity. Unfortunately, if I cast a new face in my film and that one movie does well, it changes them,” Chopra said, underlining the transformative—often negative—impact of fame on fresh talent.

Having launched the careers of several celebrated stars, Chopra didn’t hold back in recalling how the industry changes people. “I’ve worked with so many people and I’ve seen them change. Mission Kashmir was Hrithik Roshan’s first film… Vidya Balan’s first film… Boman Irani’s first film… There’s a whole list, I don’t know how many. As they become successful, all of them, this isn’t an individual thing, they change. That’s why I like people who are nobodies, because once you become somebody, you don’t remain the same person,” he said candidly.

The filmmaker also expressed disappointment in the industry's growing fixation on box office numbers and mass success over creative authenticity. “The people only care about the hits these days. No one has a vision, and no one wants to create for the joy of creating. They make one massive film with a Rs 400 crore box office collection, and suddenly they start walking differently,” Chopra remarked.

In a sharply worded anecdote, Chopra illustrated the shift in attitude that often accompanies success. “There was a producer who I knew, and he was always very polite while talking and had a soft demeanour. Suddenly one day, he meets me with his chest puffed and some weight in his voice. I asked him, ‘Teri koi picture hit ho gayi (Did one of your films succeed)?’ He said, ‘Sir, you know everything; my film did succeed.’ I told him that I had no idea that one of his films worked; all I knew was that his spine is connected to his bank balance, and that’s why he was walking upright. These days the spine is always connected to the bank balance and not the quality of their work.”

Chopra's brutally honest insights offer a sobering look at the evolution of creative integrity in modern Indian cinema.

Actor Avinash Tiwary recently called out a Pakistani writer and celebrity stylist for body-shaming him on social media, and did so with poise and purpose. The exchange began when Rao Ali Khan, a self-proclaimed stylist and commentator, left unsolicited remarks on one of Avinash's Instagram posts.

Referring to the actor's physique in two of his recent shows, Khan commented: "Loved Bombay Meri Jaan. Was thinking why do you have belly fat in Khakhee and Bombay Meri Jaan both. Happy to see fitter body – super super." In another comment, he added: "Loved Bombay Meri Jaan but pls loose [sic] weight and look fit."

The remarks were quickly picked up by fans and social media users, many of whom found them unnecessary and disrespectful. Avinash, however, chose not to ignore them. Instead, he responded with a dignified yet pointed reply: "Sir, you are a journalist… if you had done any research you would know it was for the part... I suggest get beyond the idea of just vanity for cinema. Thank you."

This comes days after Avinash opened up on being relevant as an actor and shedding the OTT tag. In a chat with IANS, Avinash said, “The OTT actor tag only happened because there was COVID, but I was looking to do theatricals. Last year, I was doing a couple of films, which didn't take off. That's when I realised I need to take control of things to create a distinction that says I'm not just only on one platform."

Speaking of the professional front, the 39-year-old actor recently wrapped shooting for Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, wherein he will be seen sharing the screen space with Medha Shankr.

Vedang Raina has reacted on the comparisons with debutant Ahaan Panday, whose latest film Saiyaara has become a runaway success at the box office. He also spoke about his upcoming project with Imtiaz Ali.

The internet is on fire with comparisons of you and the Saiyaara actor Ahaan Panday

I haven’t gotten the chance to watch it yet, but I do want to watch it soon. Have heard great things. I think everyone has their own journey and there have been visual comparisons with many people as soon as I stepped into the industry. I’m very happy for this success, though. Makes me a believer.

When do you start shooting for your film with Imtiaz Ali?

I’m starting shoot for the project next month, but the major bulk of it will happen in October and November. It’s my only focus right now. My sole purpose is to do justice to my part and to the fact that I’m working with one of the great directors of our time.

Have you signed anything else?

I haven’t signed anything officially, but there are a couple of other projects that I have loved and given a yes to. I’m charged and fired up. I’m eager to deliver. I’m excited to share these stories with everyone.

Do you feel the industry kids have an advantage over you?

It’s never a level playing field in any industry in the world. I came to terms with this aspect of life many years ago. It doesn’t make a difference, as long as I sleep at night knowing I’m working hard and driven. It will pay off. Patience is a virtue.

Following the Indian government’s recent crackdown on 24 OTT platforms for allegedly broadcasting explicit content, one of the names that surfaced was ALTT, formerly known as ALTBalaji. Amid widespread speculation and media coverage, Balaji Telefilms Limited has issued a strong clarification distancing producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor from the platform.

In an official statement released on July 26, Balaji Telefilms emphasized that the company is a “professionally run media organization” listed on both the BSE and NSE. The statement further confirmed that ALTT is now operated solely by Balaji Telefilms, following the approved amalgamation of ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd. with the parent company as of June 20, 2025. “No Longer Associated Since 2021” The clarification was issued in response to media reports suggesting that ALTT had been disabled by authorities and still had ties to Ekta and Shobha Kapoor. “Contrary to such reports, Ms. Ekta Kapoor and Mrs. Shobha Kapoor are not associated in any capacity whatsoever with ALTT,” the company asserted, noting that the duo had officially stepped down from their roles in June 2021.

The company strongly denied any insinuations linking them to current developments around the ban and urged media outlets to report responsibly and factually.

The controversy stems from a Ministry of Information & Broadcasting order earlier this week, which directed internet service providers to block 24 OTT platforms allegedly involved in distributing vulgar or sexually explicit content.

The much-anticipated trailer of War 2, the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ expanding Spy Universe, is finally out. Clocking in at 2 minutes and 39 seconds, the trailer marks the return of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir — this time in a meaner, more enigmatic avatar.

Sharing the trailer, Hrithik Roshan took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "It will not be easy to take sides in this War." Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and introduces a layered conflict with no clear good or bad. The visuals hint at a clash of ideologies, loyalties, and strategies — with Kabir caught at the heart of it all.

The trailer shows Hrithik navigating through themes of patriotism and romance while facing off against both Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in a series of elaborate action sequences. Ashutosh Rana also returns as Colonel Luthra, adding another layer of tension to the narrative.

One particular moment pays homage to War (2019), where Hrithik’s Kabir is seen remembering martyred Captain Khalid Rahmani, the character previously portrayed by Tiger Shroff. The dialogue exchange evokes a sense of emotional continuity from the first film.

It will not be easy to take sides in this War. #War2Trailer is out!#War2 releasing in Hindi, Telugu & Tamil on August 14th in cinemas worldwide! @tarak9999 | @advani_kiara |#AyanMukerji |@yrf #YRFSpyUniversepic.twitter.com/x6z6jTSjCw — Hrithik Roshan (@iHrithik) July 25, 2025

War 2 also marks Hrithik’s first on-screen collaboration with Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. The trailer reveals glimpses of his dynamic chemistry with Kiara and a fiery standoff with the RRR star. This is also the first time Hrithik teams up with director Ayan Mukerji, known for his work in fantasy and adventure-driven cinema.

Released in 2019, War was the highest-grossing Indian film of that year, with Kabir quickly becoming one of the most iconic action characters in the YRF universe. War 2 builds on that legacy, with the trailer promising an evolved version of the character. Produced by Aditya Chopra, War 2 is slated to hit theatres and IMAX screens worldwide on August 14, 2025 — just ahead of Independence Day.

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri are gearing up to appear together in Dhadak 2. Prior to this, Triptii received critical praise for her performance in Laila Majnu opposite Avinash Tiwary. Interestingly, Siddhant Chaturvedi had also auditioned for that role with the Animal actress but shared that he was turned down by the makers for appearing "too young."

In an interview with Just Too Filmy, Siddhant Chaturvedi shared that he had been shortlisted for the 2018 film Laila Majnu. He said, “I was shortlisted for Laila Majnu, and I was 22 at that point of time. (I came) very close. The thing is the guy had to be older than the girl. I didn't know who was going to be playing the girl. It was my audition round days. I auditioned, but they felt I was a little too young.”

He further added, “I grew my beard. My brother shot me in his new camera, and I made a profile that I sent them. Obviously, it didn't work out. I went to the screening of Laila Majnu, just to know what I was missing out on.”

Laila Majnu marked Triptii Dimri’s debut. Although the film underperformed at the box office upon its 2018 release, it gradually gained a cult status, especially after its digital premiere. In August 2024, the film was re-released and earned four times more than its original collection.

Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and others. Serving as a spiritual successor to the 2018 hit Dhadak, the film introduces a new cast and narrative. It tells the story of Vidhi, portrayed by Triptii Dimri, and Nilesh, played by Siddhant Chaturvedi—two youngsters from different castes whose love faces societal opposition. The film draws inspiration from the critically acclaimed 2018 Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal.

The performances of Saiyaara are top-notch and this applies not just to lead actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, but also to the supporting cast. One such actor who stood out was Alam Khan, who played the role of the protagonist’s kind-hearted and rich friend, KV. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Alam spoke about the film, its success and a lot more.

Congratulations on your role in Saiyaara! What feedback have you received? The feedback has been amazing and consistent. People love the character KV and say everyone needs a friend like KV in their life.

Many wished for a friend like KV to fund their dream projects! Did you get similar feedback? Absolutely. Everyone is looking for someone like KV. I also wish I had a KV in my life (laughs).

You watched Saiyaara at Gaiety, as evident by your post on Instagram. How was that experience? That photo was actually taken by my younger brother. It feels great to see our film screened where we used to watch big stars’ films. It’s a full-circle moment, and watching it on that big screen at Gaiety was truly special.

How did you get this role? I bagged it after 6-7 rounds of auditions. Shanoo ma’am (casting director Shanoo Sharma), Mohit sir (director Mohit Suri) and Sumana ma’am (Creative Executive Producer Sumana Ghosh) trusted me, and I was offered the role.

How are Ahaan and Aneet like off-screen? How was working with them? Both are amazing, intelligent and hardworking actors. Ahaan is an old friend, and we’ve made short films together before. Aneet is young and very talented with a bright future ahead. Everyone is happy with the final results.

How is Mohit Suri as a director? Mohit Suri is incredible. He gives actors the space and time to perform their best. His focus on content and performance greatly contributed to my strong performance in the film.

Working with YRF (Yash Raj Films) is a dream for any actor. Did you experience their reputed care for actors? Yes, working with YRF felt like a fairy tale. The whole experience was very professional and enjoyable, all done Bollywood-style.

You have worked before in films and web shows. How has Saiyaara's response been like in that regard? Has it given you the maximum exposure? Saiyaara is the biggest and most special project of my life. It crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark, which is huge for me and verifies the film’s success and impact.

Have any prominent actors or filmmakers reached out to you about your role? Yes, many people, including Raaj Shandaaliyaa and Arunabh Kumar (owner of TVF), called to appreciate my work. They praised my hard work and told me it’s my time to shine. It motivates me to keep working harder.

What next? Is there a chance of a next season for Kota Factory? I can’t comment on Kota Factory and their new season or Saiyaara 2 yet. Just stay tuned.

You must have seen videos of youngsters going crazy watching Saiyaara. The box office is also historic; no one imagined in their wildest dreams that the film would perform in such a manner. What do you think has worked for the film so well? Everything worked well. Director Mohit Suri’s vision was crucial. Good direction, strong content, and powerful acting came together perfectly. The music also created a unique atmosphere, making the film a comprehensive success.

Bayaan, a police procedural thriller headlined by Huma Qureshi, has been officially selected for the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will have its world premiere in TIFF’s Discovery section, making it the only Indian title featured in the category this year.

Written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra of Chauranga fame, Bayaan is a co-production between Platoon One Films and Summit Studios, with additional producers Kunal Kumar and Anuj Gupta, and Switzerland-based Sadik Keshwani (Guidant Films) as co-producer. Huma Qureshi also serves as an executive producer.

The film was developed through Film Independent’s LA Residency, part of the Global Media Makers (GMM) program. During the residency, Mishra was mentored by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Last of Us), and received guidance from writer Jeff Stockwell and story editor Ruth Atkinson.

Mishra said, “It is my attempt to bear witness to a society in transition — and to the quiet courage of those who choose to speak. I'm deeply honoured to present my second feature, Bayaan, at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Discovery section — a platform that has launched the journeys of many filmmakers I admire and cherish.”

Huma Qureshi, who has starred in a number of Indian and international productions, described Bayaan as a "timely and powerful story" exploring themes of power, faith, and systemic injustice. "Bayaan gave me the opportunity to play the kind of character I’ve long been drawn to—someone within the justice system, yet up against forces much larger than herself. It was an absolute joy to work with a team so passionate and fearless in telling a story that feels both vital and universal," she shared.

The film also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh, and Perry Chhabra.

Shiladitya Bora, founder of Platoon One Films, stated, "We firmly believe this is a film with global appeal, and TIFF is the perfect launchpad to start its journey around the world. As a producer, I’m always looking for that one script that can be a breakout film for everyone involved—and with 'Bayaan', I knew we had something powerful. At Platoon One Films, our ethos is to champion newer voices and newer stories that provoke, connect, and challenge. This film truly embodies that spirit".

Bayaan features cinematography by Udit Khurana along with editing by National Award winner A. Sreekar Prasad, music by Ajay Jayanthi, and costumes by Shilpi Agarwal. The film is supported by the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund.

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has strongly condemned a shocking incident from Kalyan that has left social media fuming. A disturbing video, which has gone viral across platforms, shows a man identified as Gokul Jha brutally dragging a female hospital receptionist by her hair after she reportedly denied his demand to jump the queue. The victim, who sustained multiple injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dombivli. The accused has since been detained by the police.

Reacting to the harrowing visuals, Janhvi took to her Instagram stories to express her anger and disbelief. “This man needs to be in jail. Why does anyone think this behaviour is ok? What makes him think he can raise his hand at someone like this?” “What kind of upbringing convinces you to go through with these actions without any remorse, guilt or sense of humanity? How do you live with yourself after knowing this is how your brain operates? What a shame. And shame on us for not punishing and condoning such behaviour more aggressively. Nothing excuses this,” the Mr. & Mrs. Mahi actress further wrote.

Her post struck a chord with many fans and followers, reigniting conversations around everyday violence against women and the pressing need for accountability. Celebrities speaking up in such cases not only amplify awareness but also serve as a reminder of the role public figures can play in demanding justice.

On the professional front, Janhvi Kapoor has a packed slate ahead. She is set to star in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Varun Dhawan, as well as the highly anticipated Param Sundari starring Siddharth Malhotra. She also has Peddi with Ram Charan in the pipeline. The actress also made a stunning debut at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where she walked the red carpet for her international project Homebound, co-starring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa.

National Award–winning actor Vidya Balan has opened up about her conscious decision to take a break from acting. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, she described the hiatus as a time of peace, self-belief, and growth—as opposed to stress or fear of fading from the limelight.

When asked whether stepping away from the screen makes her uneasy, Vidya said, “I think I am shamelessly optimistic. I have so much self‑belief. I have put myself out there at my biggest and not batted an eyelid.”

She added that, “I’ve had people tell me I should work on myself, that I should shed weight. But I actually believe there is nothing wrong with me. And I think that is a great attitude because it helped me sail through. I was still playing the lead, so I don't think those kinds of insecurities have ever weighed me down.”

For the first time, she admitted, she is in a “stress‑free phase.” “For the first time in my life, I am not experiencing stress. Knowingly or unknowingly, we go through a lot of stress. I am enjoying this period. I am reading scripts, meeting people, and I have decided on two films. Unfortunately, I am not able to talk about it right now,” she stated.

Vidya’s previous screen appearance was in the 2024 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, alongside Kartik Aaryan and Madhuri Dixit. Before that, she starred in the romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar with Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Her upcoming project is the historical epic Raja Shivaji, directed by Riteish Deshmukh and starring Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Genelia D’Souza. It is slated for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.

Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has expressed his admiration for the success of Saiyaara, emphasizing the importance of storytelling over star-driven casts. Known for directing iconic films like Pardes and Taal, Ghai shared his thoughts on the changing dynamics of cinema and praised Saiyaara for proving that compelling narratives continue to resonate with audiences.

In a social media post shared on Sunday, Ghai commended the film for showcasing how heartfelt storytelling, the fresh pairing of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and balanced production values can outperform exaggerated marketing and inflated star salaries. He wrote, “When a new star cast film creates a wave at box office. It sends us a clear msg to investors n producers not to make an over budget film more than a good story needs - not to invest on main actors more than your production cost - no money spend on stars whims - no extra spend on marketing stunts. Audience is surely ready to accept a good heart warming film with right casting all over India ????????.”

Just before Priyanka Chopra, who celebrates her birthday on July 18, left Mumbai to pursue a career in the West, she starred in one final Bollywood film — Prakash Jha’s Jai GangaaJal. In it, Priyanka played a gritty, no-nonsense cop battling corruption in a small town in Bihar. Interestingly, the role was originally written for a male actor, making Priyanka the unequivocal hero of the film. However, with her Hollywood commitments looming, Priyanka had to leave Mumbai, and Jha was left to promote the film largely on his own.

Looking back, the filmmaker harbours no ill feelings. “She had other commitments. Priyanka had told me well in advance that her dates were locked for the shoot of a series abroad… She did try to address the media whenever she could by joining online!” Jha recalls.

In fact, Jha had hoped to collaborate with Priyanka again. “I had offered her the lead in Raajneeti with Ranbir Kapoor. For reasons best known to her, she decided not to do it, although I was very keen that she come on board. That’s when Katrina Kaif stepped in. I actually wanted to cast both Katrina and Priyanka together. But Priyanka had other plans.”

Despite the missed opportunity, Jha has nothing but admiration for the global star. “Today I am so, so happy to see how far she has come — much further than any of us could have imagined. It’s astonishing to see her being such a wonderful wife, a great mother, and a globally celebrated actress. Hats off!”

Would he work with Priyanka again? “I’d love to. But the question is — would she?”

Renowned for his nasal‐tone vocals, Bollywood singer‐composer Himesh Reshammiya once again took the spotlight—this time at his CapMania concert in Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Arena on July 19, 2025. Fans flocked to see him don his signature cap and leather jacket, and to hear his iconic hits, including the evergreen ‘Aashiq Banaya Apne.’ However, what caught everyone’s attention was his witty retort to critics who frequently mock his unique singing style.

Amid the energetic performance, Reshammiya paused long enough to address the crowd directly. With a playful grin, he broke the tension by asking, “Naak se gau ya galey se?”—roughly translating to, “Should I sing through my nose or through my throat?”. His lighthearted jibe landed well, earning cheers and applause from the audience, who clearly appreciated his humour and self-awareness.

This wasn’t the first time Reshammiya addressed such trolling. Earlier, during a stop on the tour in Mumbai on May 31, he playfully asked fans the same question: “Thoda regular gaaun ya naak se gaaun?”, before jokingly confirming, “Are you sure?” when the crowd overwhelmingly voted for nasal. That interaction, too, went viral—highlighting his charm and confidence in owning his style.

Going further back to February 2025, in a candid interview with Pinkvilla, Himesh spoke about the criticism surrounding the nasal quality of ‘Aashiq Banaya Apne.’ Clarifying that the song was never intentionally nasal, he referred to it instead as “high‑pitched singing.” He elaborated, “Aaj toh nasal ki baat bhi nahi karahe hain. Many people did nasal singing after me, so many of my songs became hits. Actually, even though I call it nasal singing today, for me, it was never nasal, it was high‑pitched singing. It was a cry for help! In the ‘Aashiq Banaya’ video, this guy is actually crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing… One shouldn’t feel bad about criticism. When ‘Aashiq Banaya’ came, there was so much trolling, but the same people were dancing to it in clubs.”

eet PaddThe Saiyaara wave refuses to die down. Usually, there is a drop in collections on weekdays after a film performs exceptionally well on weekends. But the latest Yash Raj Films (YRF) release is proving to be an exception.

As per reports coming from across the country, Saiyaara is all set to put up a huge number on the weekdays. The advance booking for Monday is very strong and what has caught the eye is that YRF has gone against the norm by incorporating the Tuesday offer.

Since April, theatres across the country have decided to sell tickets at discounted rates, that is, at Rs. 99/149/199, every Tuesday. Films that tend to do well in Week 1, like Raid 2 and Sitaare Zameen Par, didn’t opt for this offer. But YRF has refused to follow in the footsteps of the Ajay Devgn-starrer and Aamir Khan-starrer.

A trade expert commented, “It is a given that Saiyaara’s craze is tremendous and even without the offer, the occupancy on Tuesday would have been rock solid. Hence, it is heartening that YRF took the decision of having reasonable ticket prices for their film so that audiences can watch it without burning a hole in their pocket.”

The trade expert also remarked, “Price-conscious moviegoers usually would wait for a day, especially if they know that the ticket on the next day will be cheaper. But with Saiyaara, that’s not the case. There’s tremendous urgency to watch the film and hence, many haven’t waited for Tuesday's offer. As a result, Monday will be super-strong while Tuesday will be extraordinary. Usually, films drop on Wednesday after a huge Tuesday, but again, Saiyaara might prove to be an exception even in this regard.”

The only minor downside is that theatres won’t be selling tickets for Rs. 99 for Saiyaara on Tuesday, which they usually do for the front rows. However, moviegoers, dying to watch Saiyaara, won’t mind, especially since the price of the normal seats would not exceed Rs. 149 or Rs. 199.

Meanwhile, Saiyaara’s Monday morning shows are registering tremendous occupancy in many centres, which is a rarity. The 8:20 am and 9:00 am shows at Cinepolis Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, were nearly sold out and the same applied for PVR Capital Mall, Nalasopara near Mumbai. All shows of Roopbani Cinema, Purnia, Bihar, for Monday were sold out in advance, including the morning show at 9:30 am. The 9:10 am show at Cinepolis World Trade Park Mall Jaipur, was 50% full while the 10:00 am show was nearly full.

In Ahmedabad’s Inox Himalaya Mall, Saiyaara’s 9:20 am show was half-full and was fast-filling. Even in Bengaluru, the film is super-strong. The 8:45 am show at PVR Nexus, Koramangala had an occupancy of nearly 80%. With such craze, there’s not a shred of doubt that Saiyaara is poised for a double-digit Monday and Tuesday.

A duty manager in a Mumbai multiplex told Bollywood Hungama, “Post-pandemic, such strong Monday morning occupancies were seen only for big-budget movies. This reminded me of the pre-pandemic days when college students used to crowd cinemas for 8:00 am and 9:00 am shows on the weekdays.”

First Son of Sardar 2, now Andaaz 2 — the Saiyaara snowball effect is reshaping the release calendar in a big way. Following Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardar 2, which recently postponed its release from July 25 to August 1, filmmaker Suneel Darshan has now pushed his romantic drama Andaaz 2 from August 1 to August 8.

Explaining the reason for the shift, Suneel Darshan says, “The unexpected, tumultuous opening of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara and its anticipated sustained audience interest in the coming weeks have necessitated a reshuffling of release dates. With Son of Sardar 2 now arriving on August 1, I’ve moved Andaaz 2 to August 8.”

He further adds, “The decision was also influenced by the paucity of available screens and the complexities of multiplex programming. Andaaz 2 features newcomers and, much like Saiyaara, needs an open week to give it the breathing space and visibility it deserves.”

Darshan’s move reflects a growing industry trend where smaller or non-franchise films with fresh talent are being carefully positioned to avoid clashes — especially in a year where unexpected breakout successes like Saiyaara are rewriting the box office rulebook.

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly sustained a back injury while filming an action sequence for his upcoming film King. The project, helmed by director Siddharth Anand, marks a significant collaboration between the superstar and his daughter, Suhana Khan, who plays the lead role.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, July 19, she wrote, “Reports regarding my brother Shah Rukh Khan sustaining muscular injuries during shooting make me worried. Wish him speedy recovery.”

Reports regarding my brother Shah Rukh Khan sustaining muscular injuries during shooting make me worried. Wish him speedy recovery. @iamsrk — Mamata Banerjee (@MamataOfficial) July 19, 2025

As reported earlier by Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh’s injury was first brought to public attention through insider updates on the film’s ongoing schedule. King, one of the most anticipated films currently in production, is being closely followed for its high-octane action and the debut collaboration between SRK and Suhana on screen.

A well-placed industry source told us, “While exact details of the injury have been kept under wraps, Shah Rukh, along with his team, has travelled to the US for urgent medical attention. It’s nothing serious, but more of a muscular injury, as Shah Rukh over the years has injured multiple muscles of his body while performing stunts.”

The source further added, “The next schedule of King will now begin in September/October as SRK has been advised to take time off for recovery. On completely recovering from the injury, he will hit sets again with full force.”
