The model turned actress is rumoured to be dating Arbaaz Khan after the latter separated from Malaika Arora. In this exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, she discussed her relationship with the actor-producer and the rumours about their wedding.

Fans of the couple have been wondering about their marriage and in the recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Giorgia Andriani decided to put an end to the rumours. She said, “Like I said we're very good friends. But coming to wedding or marriage, to be honest, it is something that we're not really looking at.” However, accepting the close bond they share, the model turned actress recalled the pandemic time and how lockdown changed their relationship. She added, “The lockdown has made us think. In fact, it has made people either come closer or to drift apart.”

For the unversed, Italian model Giorgia Andriani met Arbaaz Khan after the latter separated with his former wife Malaika Arora, The estranged couple have a teenage boy named Arhaan Khan and the duo were married for almost 20 years. In the same interview, Andriani also revealed that not only has she met the Khan family but she has also met the actor-producer’s former wife Malaika Arora too.

Bollywood actress Kajol has already kick-started the promotions of her upcoming film Salaam Venky. Ever since the makers launched the trailer of the film, the actress was spotted at various locations to promote it. However, during her recent appearance, the actress was seen flaunting her swanky BMW X7 SUV worth Rs 1.8 crore.

In one of the video posts shared on the verified social media handle and celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani, Kajol looked stunning in a red saree. The actress can be seen walking with her team at the start of the video. However, as the video progresses further, she can be seen posing along with her expensive car for paps. Interestingly, the actress was spotted near the sets of Salman Khan’s popular reality show Bigg Boss.

However, it is worth mentioning that the makers of Bigg Boss Season 16 have not shared any promo video featuring Kajol, so far. It will be interesting to see if Kajol will enter the Bigg Boss house or join the stage with host Salman Khan for the weekend special episodes.

Talking about her upcoming film, Salaam Venky, produced by BLIVE Productions and RTAKE Studios, it is directed by Revathy. It is slated to release in theatres on December 9, 2022. The ensemble star cast of the film will also feature Mardaani 2 fame Vishal N. Jethwa, Aahana S Kumra, Rahul Bose and Rajeev Khandelwal.

Going by trailer, the film will trace a story of a mother who overcame the most trying conditions with perseverance. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will also be seen in a cameo appearance.

She is seen enjoying a Thanksgiving party with her friends.

Talking about Nysa’s IG handle, she maintains a private account. The 19-year-old star kid has finished school in Singapore where she studied at the United World College of South East Asia.

Speaking on her Bollywood debut, Ajay had once told TOI, “My daughter has not mentioned to me (at least yet) that she wishes to join the movies. So, everything else is hypothetical,” in an interview earlier this month.

Elaborating further Devgn added, “She is just a teenager. She hasn’t told Kajol or me what her final career choice would be. As of now, she is studying overseas. If she decides to pursue a career in the film industry, it will be her choice. As parents, we will always support her.”

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Bhediya was released in theatres yesterday through a decent response. But unfortunately for the makers, the film got leaked on the internet on the day of its release itself.  

As per a report by Times Now, the movie, which is directed by Amar Kaushik, got leaked online on various Torrent sites. It will be interesting to see if this has any bearing on the film’s box office performance. As per early estimates, Bhediya has earned in the range of Rs 6 to 7 crore on its opening day yesterday.  

The menace of new releases getting leaked online on the day of their release isn’t new. In fact, just last week, the Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna-starrer Drishyam 2 was also leaked online on its opening day.  

But thankfully for the producers, there wasn’t much damage done as the film went onto become a winner at the box office. It succeeded in reaching the Rs 100 crores mark at the ticket window in India in its first week itself and has also performed well overseas.  

Bhediya is a creature comedy about a man, played by Varun, who turns into a wolf after being bitten by one.

Director Abhishek Pathak’s Hindi version of the Malayalam film Drishyam 2, which stars Ajay Devgn in the lead, is going great guns at the box office and has also received positive reviews. The film is the remake of the Malayalam film of the same name released in 2021 and starred Mohanlal. Similarly, the 2015 Hindi version of Drishyam was the remake of the first Malayalam film in the franchise released in 2013.

In a recent interview, Jeethu Joseph has confirmed the possibility of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and the rest of the cast. However, the film is not even written as of now.

But as soon as Jeethu made the statement, Abhishek Pathak, the director of Drishyam 2, has also confirmed the possibility of the third Hindi Drishyam.

Speaking to E Times, Pathak said, “People are excited, so they are going to make theories on part 3 and 4. But we’re just about to close our first week now. For sure there’s a demand for part 3, and it shall happen, but we are just happy to be crossing the Rs 100 crores number at the moment. Once we have some time off, we will think about what we’re going to do in the next part but as of now we’re just enjoying every bit of feedback that we're getting.”

Drishyam 2 also stars Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Kamlesh Sawant. The film has crossed the Rs 100 crores mark at the Indian box office in its first week itself

Days after giving birth to her first child, Bipasha Basu shared the first family photo featuring her newborn baby girl and husband Karan Singh Grover.

Days after the arrival of their little munchkin, the star couple shared the first post, featuring a glimpse of their daughter, though it covered her face. In the photo, the new parents can be seen adoring Devi. Meanwhile, in the caption, Bipasha shared their “recipe” of making “a sweet angel”.

Interestingly, the countdown for the arrival of Rohit Shetty's next, the comedy of error, Cirkus has begun. The team is all set to unveil the trailer at a grand event on December 2 in Mumbai. Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Rohit Shetty has locked the trailer of Cirkus.

A trade source told us, “It's a 3-minute 47-second trailer, loaded with comic moments and big scale, with the entire ensemble getting the focus. Rohit has kept a tight campaign leading to release on December 23, and he wants to communicate all that he wants to with the first trailer of the film. He believes to create an impression with the first asset and the ones who have seen the trailer are going gaga over it.”

On the first anniversary of the release of Satyameva Jayate 2, director Milap Zaveri took to social media to pen a heartfelt note, where he expressed gratitude towards the entire team including the lead cast John Abraham, Divya Khosla Kumar, and others for supporting him during the time of pandemic. In the same breath, the director maintained that he took full responsibility of the failure of the film at the box office and also opened up about the lessons he learnt post the experience.

Milap Zaveri took to Twitter to share the heartfelt note which read, “1 year since Satyameva Jayate 2 released and failed at the Box office. We gave it our sweat, blood and tears in the middle of the pandemic. A huge cast and crew who were amazing. The film didn't work commercially and I take full and solo responsibility for that. My conviction failed. But I will always be proud of it. I will always love and cherish the process of making it with the people I loved. This past year has been tough. One failure eclipsed the successes like Satyameva Jayate and Marjavaan of the past. Those who answered phones in a jiffy now let it ring out. Many lessons have been learnt. Many walked away. And Many stood by me when the going was hard. But a phoenix always rises from the ashes. Like I once told someone "Mujh mein itna talent hai ki main apna ukhaad loonga" And I will. Coz there are still many who believe in me. Who still believe I will fight back and comeback even stronger.”

Satyameva Jayate 2, which featured John Abraham in a triple role, released on November 25, 2021, amidst the later stages of the pandemic. The film failed to make a mark at the box office and received a lot of backlash from the audiences.

Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan is one of the most excitedly awaited films from Bollywood as it marks the comeback of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. On top of that, the action-packed teaser of the movie, which was recently out, upped the anticipation even further. And now, the film’s director Siddharth Anand has revealed a Tom Cruise connection to the film. In order to make Pathaan an even bigger spectacle, the makers have roped in the known Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Casey O’Neil on board. He has worked with some of Tom Cruise’s biggest actioners like Mission Impossible series, Jack Reacher and Top Gun: Maverick, along with a few Marvel Studios and Steven Spielberg films.

Speaking about the association, Siddharth said in a statement, “When one sets out to make the spectacle action film of India with one of the all-time biggest heroes of our country, Shah Rukh Khan, you need to have a champion team that is unified in the vision. Thankfully we got an A-team that came together to push the visual envelope with Pathaan and I was delighted to have someone like Casey O’Neill, who has extensively worked with Tom Cruise, to be by our side.”

Adding onto Casey’s work, the filmmaker added, “He brings in a wealth of experience and he immediately bought into the idea of creating edge-of-the-seat action for Pathaan that could match what he’s done back home in Hollywood. What Casey has created in Pathaan is simply mind-boggling. You will have to see the film for that because we aren’t going to disclose any details from the film till it releases in theatres on 25 Jan.”

Pathaan also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s ambitious feature-film based on the Mahabharat will get its screenplay from the film Mahabharat that his father A. G. Nadiadwala had produced in 1965.

Confirming this, Firoz says, “Writing the Mahabharat for the screen has always been the biggest problem. This is why so few films on the Mahabharat have been attempted. I have my father’s film on the Mahabharat with the most brilliant and comprehensive script based on the sacred saga. When the best possible treatment of the Mahabharat epic is right under my nose, why should I look anywhere else?”

Produced by A G Nadiadwala in 1965, the Mahabharat starred Abhi Bhattacharya as Lord Krishna, Padmini (from Raj Kapoor’s Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai and Mera Naam Joker) as Draupadi, Pradeep Kumar as Arjuna and Dara Singh as Bhim.

The film directed by Babubhai Mistry was a hit.

After deleting her controversial ‘Galwan tweet,’ actress Richa Chadha has now offered an apology for hurting the sentiments of the Indian Army and their followers in the country. In a Twitter statement, she said, “Even though it can never be my intention in the least, if the 3 words which have been dragged into a controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologize and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj, of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part. As a Lt. Col, he took a bullet in the leg in the Indo-China war, in 1960s. It’s in my blood.”

She added, “A whole family is affected when their son is martyred or even injured while saving the nation which is made up of people like us and I personally know how it feels. It is an emotive issue for me.”

After bringing us cinematic gems like Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Mission Kashmir, the Munnabhai franchise, 3 Idiots, and PK, producer-director Vidhu Vinod Chopra is directing and producing 12th Fail, adapted from Anurag Pathak’s bestselling novel of the same name that will feature Vikrant Massey.

The film is inspired by the real-life story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. But 12th Fail isn’t a biography as much as it is a portrait of the power of one - how one man or one woman with integrity can create seismic change. 

12th Fail is the first film to be shot in Mukherjee Nagar, New Delhi, the location that has seen the birth of generations of bureaucrats. Talking about the film, VVC says, “If an honest person is in a position of power, the world can truly change. I have seen that with countless IAS and IPS officers I have come across in the process of writing this film. ’12th Fail’ is a tribute to all of them. If this film can inspire even 10 more officers to strive for honesty, 10 more students to strive for excellence… I will believe I have succeeded.” 

The upcoming film is headlined by Vikrant Massey. 

Sharing his piece of mind, Vikrant said, “It’s the tragedy of our times that honesty and sincerity are a rarity. This film is a dedication to all the students who dream, and to all the honest officers who are the backbone of our country and constitution. Working with VVC is a dream come true and a huge challenge since he’s such a thorough director.” 

VVC has wrapped the first schedule of 12th Fail in Chambal, Agra, and is currently filming the second schedule in Delhi. The film is scheduled for a 2023 summer release.

Actress Richa Chadha has been embroiled in a social media controversy following her ‘Galwan tweet’, which now stands deleted. It all started with the Northern Army Commander Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi stating that the Indian Army is ready to take back Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) if given orders by the government of India.

Quote tweeting this news, Richa wrote, “Galwan says hi.” This was her cheeky mention of the controversial territory of Galwan with which India has dispute with China. Her Tweet instantly sparked controversy as she started getting trolled for allegedly mocking the Indian Army.

Reacting strongly to the tweet, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa replied to the now deleted tweet and wrote, “Disgraceful Tweet. Should be withdrawn at the earliest. Insulting our armed forces is not justified.”

Film producer and social activist Ashoke Pandit has urged the Mumbai police to file an FIR against Richa. He tweeted, “I appeal to @CPMumbaiPolice @MumbaiPolice to file an F.I.R against actress #RichaChadha for mocking & abusing our security forces. She has been a regular offender of spreading hate towards nationalist forces.”

Kartik Aaryan seems to have kicked off his new year on a great note. With him garnering several accolades for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the actor has been having a successful year. Celebrating his new innings in Bollywood, the actor rang in his 32nd birthday in ‘Shehzada’ style which was indeed a star studded affair. The bash included celebrities like Vaani Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Manish Malhotra, Alaya F, Disha Patani, among others and the photos from the bash were shared by the stars on their respective social media.

Kartik Aaryan hosted a white themed birthday bash and many celebrities from Vaani Kapoor to Manish Malhotra shared photos on Instagram. Vaani Kapoor shared a photo of her with casting director Mukesh Chabbra and Ayushmann Khurrana and added a quirky caption referring to the actor and the birthday boy’s films saying, “Yeh shehzada ki birthday party main yeh action hero befikre ho Kar ghoom Raha hai.” On the other hand, Manish Malhotra tagged Kartik along with Ananya Panday and Vaani Kapoor saying, “With the handsome birthday boy and the gorgeous girls”. The star of the day, Kartik also reposted a photo with the team of his next Satyaprem Ki Katha, which also stars Kiara Advani, saying, ‘And it’s a schedule wrap’.

Talking further about his special day, the actor kicked off his celebrations with private family moments with his parents. The actor posted a series of photo from his cake cutting ceremony with his mother, father, sister, and his dog Katori saying, “In every birth I would like to be born as your koki?? Thank you for the sweet birthday surprise mummy- papa, Katori n Kiki”

Besides that, the actor also gave a special treat to his fans by releasing the first look teaser of his upcoming film Shehzada. The film, directed by Rohit Dhawan, is a remake of the Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Also starring Kriti Sanon as his leading lady, the action entertainer is expected to release in February 10, 2023.

The news that superstar Akshay Kumar will be portraying the pivotal role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi extravaganza, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat (Seven Marathas charged with passion) has created quite a stir in the industry. Akshay, who speaks Marathi without any accent, has said that this is a dream-come-true role for him, and he will give everything to it—in his words, “Jitna mera dam hai laga doonga.” The film is also being designed as the first Marathi pan-Indian (the “in” term nowadays!) movie ever!

Akshay has already acted in a crucial special appearance in Aadhaar two decades back as the hero’s friend who brings his bride to the marriage venue, and has later produced 72 Miles—Ek Pravaas and Chumbak, films that were also critically acclaimed.

But today, acting in or even producing Marathi films has become a matter of pride for our stars, aside from the fact that most producers and even some directors and composers are now experimenting—usually profitably!—with forays into Marathi movies. And why is that?

Mumbai is the epicenter of the Hindi film industry and the karmabhoomi for every major star. Add friendships within the fraternity and we know why many Hindi film stars, some of whom even have Marathi as their mother-tongues, forayed into occasional acting in Marathi films, like Nutan (Paradh), Tanuja (Pitruroon), Nana Patekar (Natasamrat and more) and Padmini Kolhapure (Mai, Pravaas). However, the difference is that, in recent times, with Marathi movies at an all-time high, today’s Marathi-speaking stars like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade have a greater involvement and so are also producing movies in their mother-tongue.

Home productions
Riteish had produced (and acted in) the 2014 Lai Bhaari, a blockbuster. It had Salman Khan in a lovable cameo as Bhau. Encouraged, Riteish is now turning director with Ved (Madness) that has Salman, who has always professed his love for Marathi (literally his mother-tongue as she is a Maharashtrian) cinema in an extended cameo. The superstar has already ‘remade’ Mulshi Pattern as Antim—The Final Truth (sadly with wrong changes that undid the remake!) and had plans in the past to remake two more blockbusters, Shikshanaachya Aaicha Gho and Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Boltoy.

Shreyas Talpade even produced Sanai Choughade and the super-hit Poshter Boyz and starred in them. He even turned director with the Hindi remake of the latter film with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, which unlike the Marathi film, flopped.

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s production, the offbeat 15 August, premiered on Netflix, though she did not act in the film. She is now also producing the hilarious take on superstition, Panchak, which was delayed by the lockdown. As an actress, she has starred in Bucket List (2018), a feel-good drama that grossed six times its production budget.

Mee Marathi!
Superstar Ajay Devgn’s liking for Marathi is by no means restricted to his half-Maharashtrian wife Kajol, or to his mega-hit co-production, Tanhaji—The Unsung Warrior. He produced the applauded as well as successful Marathi film, Vitti Dandu in 2014 and then Aapla Manus (in which he also made a cameo) in 2018. These films not only explored issues like Indian independence and the care of the aged but also were deeply rooted in family relationships. On record, Ajay has always expressed his love for everything Marathi.

A man who owes everything to Mumbai city, Amitabh Bachchan has done a lot in return for the home cinema of this region. The Maharashtrians have revered him both as actor and singer, and one return gesture from the legend is his rendition of four devotional non-film numbers, ‘Pasaydaan’, ‘Sukhkarta Dukhharta’, ‘Shishu la nivedan’ and ‘Tuljapurla jau chala’.

More significantly, he produced the acclaimed 2009 Marathi film, Vihir, an offbeat drama of two staunch friends, which was sent to multiple festivals including Berlin and Busan. And in 2020, his full-fledged Marathi debut, AB Aani CD was released, again a message film on family relationships. Amitabh also spoke Marathi in the film.

Way back in 1994, when his make-up man, Deepak Sawant, had made his debut as a producer with Akka and wanted him to introduce the film, Amitabh insisted on appearing in a song, and so the theme devotional number, ‘Tu Jagati Adhipati’ was reshot with Jaya Bachchan and him. Famed Marathi singer Ravindra Sathe thus bagged the honour of giving the actor playback—incidentally the fourth Maharashtrian singer to lend his voice for Amitabh after Laxmikant, Suresh Wadkar and Sudesh Bhosle!

Priyanka Chopra’s Marathi ‘Pebbles’
Among the millennium stars, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who also speaks Marathi creditably well, not only made her debut as a producer with the 2016 Ventilator but also acted in a small but key role in it as herself. The film was a smash-hit, remade later in at least four more languages and also into a play, and marked a dynamic debut for her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures.

The film made a record Rs. 25 crore from a Rs. 3.5 crore production budget and won multiple awards for itself and its various team members. The awards list was top-lined by three National awards—for Best Direction, Editing and Sound Mixing.

Priyanka has so far produced over 10 films in India, only one of which was in Hindi, and of these, three more (Kaay Re Rascalaa, Firebrand and Paani) have been in Marathi. The last film also won another National award—for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation.

Special appearances and more
Hrithik Roshan made a truly special cameo in the family drama, Hrudayantar (2017). Made up as his famous character, Krrish, he meets a sick child who is his great fan. The role was splendidly conceived to pack an emotional wallop without a single line being uttered either by Hrithik or the tot.

Ranbir Kapoor too made a cameo as himself in Madhuri’s Bucket List itself. Perhaps, it was a reciprocal gesture to Madhuri for her cameo in his 2013 Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. And John Abraham produced the 2018 thriller Savita Damodar Paranjpe based on the famous play of the same name.

The 1981 Sundara Satarkar saw Rajesh Khanna and Mehmood in guest roles. In 1982, Fatakdi (Firecracker) had the chartbuster song, ‘Kutha kutha jaayaacha honeymoon laa (Where all do we go on our honeymoon?)’ and this naughty dance was filmed on Rekha. Veteran actors Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra and Suresh Oberoi made forays into Shirdi Sai Baba, whose year of release is unknown.

Ventilator had already seen Boman Irani as a doctor. Anupam Kher too impeccably performed in Kashala Udyachi Baat (2012), while Naseeruddin Shah was a dacoit in Deool a year earlier—his Marathi diction too was notable.

And beginning with veterans R.D. Burman and Laxmikant (a Maharashtrian)-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri, even Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman have done films in Marathi. The filmmakers’ and technicians’ list is quite long, and all we can conclude is that Marathi cinema is now in greater demand as a viable option than ever before. And they all love Marathi cinema.

Last night, reports had it that Indian actor Vikram Gokhale, who is known for his works in Hindi and Marathi cinema, was expected to be critical and soon rumours of him passing away started surfacing. However, today, his wife and daughter have spoken to the media clarifying about the rumours. While the Gokhale family has asserted that Vikram Gokhale has been admitted and is in a critical condition, they revealed that he has been put on life support system but has not passed away.

His wife Vrushali Gokhale spoke to Times of India saying, “He slipped into coma yesterday afternoon and post that, he has not responded to touch. He is on ventilator. Doctors will decide tomorrow morning what to do, depending on whether he’s improving, sinking or still not responding.” Furthermore, his family also confirmed the news and elaborated on his health condition to Indian Express.com adding, “He was doing ok a few days ago, won’t say that he was fine as he has multiple health issues. He has been at the hospital for the last few days and was recovering too, but from yesterday he’s critical. We are waiting for the doctors to tell us the way forward, hopefully tomorrow they will tell us more and tell us what needs to be done. But he is critical, and that’s all I can say.”

Vrushali Gokhale also revealed that the actor was admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital on November 5. He has been hospitalized since then. While he did suffer issues with his heart and kidney, his wife mentioned that the actor’s condition worsened after he had a multi organ failure.

Not too long ago, reports had it that Arjun Kapoor will be reuniting with his Sardar Ka Grandson co-star Rakul Preet Singh and The Lady Killer co-star Bhumi Pednekar for yet another project. While the actors remained silent about it, Arjun recently took to social media to confirm about his next with the ladies duo. Although rumours had it that the film was titled Meri Patni Ka Remake, the actor revealed that they are yet to finalize on the same.

Arjun Kapoor, who is quite active on Instagram, was recently seen attending the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Award in Dubai and even shared a fun video with co-stars Ayushmann Khurrana and bestie Ranveer Singh. And it was in his recent post that the actor revealed that he has been shooting with Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh for his next. In the said post, he also mentioned that they have completed more than half of the shoot schedule of the film as well as revealed to his fans and followers that an announcement about the title will be made soon. Going the poetic way, he captioned this photo of him with his leading ladies saying, “Picture aadhi se zyaada done hai, Director Saab too much fun hai, Humari jodiyan tan tana tan tan hai, Title jald hi batane waale humare producer no 1 hai #TitleKyaHaiYaar ?? @rakulpreet @bhumipednekar #MudassarAziz @jackkybhagnani @deepshikhadeshmukh @vashubhagnani @pooja_ent.”

As mentioned in the post, this untitled venture will be produced Jackky Bhagnani and the rest of the team of Pooja Entertainment. Coming to his other projects, Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen on the big screen in Ek Villain Returns, is gearing up for the release of Kuttey. The film featuring stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu and Konkana Sen Sharma is an unconventional film that marks the directorial debut of Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj. The film, which was expected to release this month, has been pushed to January 13, 2023.
