Diwali is one festival where every celebrity gives us a glimpse of their celebrations on social media. While fans of Nickyanka awaited an update on the couple’s plan for the festivities, it was being reported that Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Nick Jonas, and the actress’ mother Madhu Chopra visited one of the plush restaurants in Beverly Hills. However, their celebrations continued in a traditional manner as they were seen introducing their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas to some Indian rituals.

This is the first Diwali of the couple’s daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas announced the arrival of their first child earlier this year. And it seems that they are keen on her understanding of Indian traditions. Dressed in ethnic outfits, the couple was seen performing pooja at their Los Angeles residence in the US. Photos from the celebration were shared by Nick Jonas on his official Instagram account. It featured a photo of the trio sitting together while performing the pooja. However, the face of Malti Marie was covered with a heart emoji. On the other hand, the American pop singer-actor also shared some of their photos where the two of them were seen wearing color-coordinated outfits. He captioned these photos with a Diwali wish for his fans and followers saying, “Such a beautiful Diwali celebration with my ??. Happy Diwali everyone. Sending joy and light to you all. #diwali”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas did not repost this on her Instagram but dropped a heart emoji comment on it. Besides the couple’s friends and well-wishers, many of their fans also dropped their Diwali wishes in the comment section. “OMG!!! These pics are everything.. so beautiful. Coming to professional commitments, Priyanka Chopra has a couple of Hollywood films as well as the space sci-fi drama Citadel, that will release on Amazon Prime, in the pipeline. She will also be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

The name of TV actress Vaishali Takker hit the headlines after she was found dead in her apartment. While the investigation is still underway, a few of her loved ones are coming forward and revealing shocking details related to her death. Recently, Vaishali’s co-star Nishant Singh Malkani has also broken his silence. 

Nishant revealed that the late actress’s ex-boyfriend Rahul Navlani had threatened her to leak their private pictures. He also mentioned that Vaishali was in depression and she took the psychiatrist's help to come out of it. In a conversation with ETimes, Nishant said, “Rahul was not letting her move on. She was in a depression. She had consulted a psychiatrist.”

Elaborating, Malkani said, “I now realise the magnitude of her problem, when I get to hear things such as Rahul wanting to show their intimate pictures to her to-be husband. Intimacy happens if you are in a relationship, but that does not mean that you threaten to share those moments with anybody else if you break up.”

The Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega actor went on to reveal, “It was a very toxic relationship. She used to cry so much on the set so many times, kabhi kabhi acting bhi nahi kar pati thi because she was under so much stress and trauma. I used to tell her to ignore him and move on.”

For the unversed, Vaishali Takkar was found dead at her residence in Indore on October 16. The actress left a suicide note accusing Rahul and his wife Disha of mentally harassing her. Rahul was arrested near Indore on October 19 and is currently in police custody. 

Vaishali had made her debut with Star Plus’ daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Later on, she was seen playing significant characters in various TV shows, such as Sasural Simar Ka, Super Sisters, and Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara, among others.

Tiger Shroff was last seen on the big screen in the film Heropanti 2. While the film did not perform as expected at the box office, Tiger quickly moved to his next. In fact, the actor has been busy working on Ganapath which is slated to hit screens in December this year. Well, now we hear that Tiger has been roped in for a new project that will be helmed by the Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti.

As per a report by Peeping Moon, the yet-untitled venture will be an emotional action drama, shot extensively in the UK. Directed by Jagan Shakti the venture is apparently being bankrolled by Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment. Interestingly, this will be Bhagnani and Tiger’s second venture together post the Vikas Bahl directorial Ganapath. As for the new project, the makers of the film are said to be in talks with Tiger to arrange his dates, post which the final paperwork for the film will be processed. However, it remains unclear whether the film is the same one that was to feature Akshay Kumar but was later shelved, or whether this venture is a totally different film.

As for Tiger, the young actor is busy with his buddy film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, following which he will be seen in Rohit Dhawan’s Rambo remake.

Diwali is all about being around loved ones where the focus is to spend time with family, and that is exactly what Rajinikanth was seen doing during the festive season. The South megastar had a rather private celebration as he visited his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth and also spent time with his grandsons, Lingaa and Yatra.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth took to Instagram to share photos from their Diwali celebration. While she was seen applying turmeric and red vermillion as a part of a special ritual on the feet of her sons, the Thalaivar was accompanying them as he stood and watched them complete the ritual. Fans were thrilled to see the family together and dropped their Diwali wishes for the Thalaivar on the post. “Periyavanuku apdiyae rajini facecut (elder son looks exactly like Rajinikanth). “Thalaivar ??. Missing from the celebrations was Dhanush, who is currently expected to have separated from Aishwarya. While in January the couple announced their separation, rumours have been rife that the two are considering reconciliation owing to the future of their sons Lingaa and Yatra.

Coming to professional commitments of Rajinikanth, Interestingly, his last release was in Diwali 2021 which was Annaathe. The actor will return to the big screen with Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Besides him, the film also stars Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, and Ramya Krishnan among others.

The honeymoon is over. Major OTT platforms are no more willing and ready to pay astronomical sums to producers to buy feature films that they want to dump on digital without taking the theatre route. The OTT players have seen through the ruse. The hardest hit apparently, is Nawazuddin Siddiqui who has a slew of releases waiting to go on the digital domain.

But no buyers? Says Nawaz, “This is news to me. To be very honest, once I complete a film I don’t keep track of its journey. Mera kaam hai acting karna. Usske aage main kuch nahin janta.”

Nawaz also adds that to him the format of screening is not relevant. “Whether my films are seen on the big screen or at home, I am equally excited about it. There is no difference in my mind between the two experiences.”

What about the fact that the viewership at home is distracted and disrespectful? “Not true,” protests Nawaz. “Sacred Games is my most avidly watched work and the most loved performance of my career. And it’s on the digital platform Netflix. On the other hand, films like The Mountain Man and Raghav Raman where I worked really hard were hardly seen in movie theatres.”

The Kapoor Diwali bash was a lavish affair. Besides the entire group of Kapoor cousins, the party also saw some of their close friends from the industry. Sonam Kapoor, who is currently enjoying motherhood, was seen bonding and chilling with her friends, including designer Pernia Qureshi and stylist Tanya Ghavri. Arjun Kapoor, who arrived at the party with his girlfriend Malaika Arora, also posted a series of photos from the bash. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan also shared some of his party shenanigans.

B-town is bustling with parties and bashes with Diwali fever all around. The lavish Kapoor bash saw many of these celebs taking to social media to share glimpses of the party. Janhvi Kapoor recently celebrated Diwali with her family, recalled the memories of her mother Sridevi. She talked about how she turned vegetarian to make Boney Kapoor give up smoking despite the health hazards she would face. She also shared that his smoking habit would often lead to fights in the house. The actress even revealed that she and her younger sister Khushi Kapoor would constantly find different ways to destroy his cigarette pack to force him to quit but the filmmaker-producer refused to quit smoking.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor reminisced about how the late Sridevi went to extreme lengths including threatening her father to leave smoking. The actress even became vegetarian which was considered to be harmful for her health because she was weak. Janhvi was quoted saying, “It was long ago I remember staying in our Juhu house, papa was smoking a lot. I think it was around the time of No Entry, Wanted, and every morning, me and Khushi would find new ways to destroy his cigarette packets. So, either we'd go and cut up his cigarettes or I'd open it and put toothpaste on it. Nothing worked, and Mom would also keep fighting with him. She became vegetarian. She said I won't eat non-veg till you stop smoking and the doctors were like no you are too weak. You need to eat more, and she was like no. And Papa would beg her.”

Janhvi went on to add that it was her mother’s sudden demise that led to Boney Kapoor give up smoking. Speaking about how her demise had forced Boney to give up on the bad habit, Janhvi added, “Four-five years ago, he was just like she wanted me to stop. I couldn’t do it then. I’ll do it now,” Janhvi added. Readers would be aware that the nation woke up to the shocking news of Sridevi’s demise on February 24, 2018 after the actress reportedly drowned in the bathtub of one of the plush hotels in Dubai. Sridevi was in the city attending the wedding of Janhvi’s cousin Mohit Marwah.

Coming to Janhvi Kapoor, the actress is currently gearing up for the release of the survival drama Mili, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen.

Puri Jagannadh’s Liger has spoilt many relationships. It is learnt from reliable sources that VD and Puri have called off their second film entitled in Telugu Jana Gana Mana co-starring Pooja Hegde, to allow VD to focus on his film with Samantha Prabhu (being directed by Shiva Nirvana).

In Mumbai, though the great camaraderie between Karan Johar and VD is very much alive. Sources say, the two are much in touch and discussions are on for a new project that this time Karan will produce, needless to say Puri Ki Puri on his own, pun intended.

Informed sources say this time the project will be an out-and-out love story. Having seen the reaction to the action in Liger, Karan doesn’t want to take any chances.

Harshvardhan Rane became a heartthrob of the nation with his debut Bollywood film, Sanam Teri Kasam (2016). It did limited business in cinemas but found a huge fan following on TV and online. Its popularity can be gauged by the fact that it has got a huge viewership as soon as it dropped recently on YouTube. Check the comments and one can only see both men and women singing praises for Harshvardhan. Hence, it won't be wrong to say that Sanam Teri Kasam, which also starred Mawra Hocane, proved to be a landmark film for the actor. It's also no surprise that his upcoming film, Tara Vs Bilal, is also getting a lot of positive comments on the internet, due to the presence of Harshvardhan.

There were murmurs that some other actor was finalized for Sanam Teri Kasam and Harshvardhan Rane ‘stole’ the role from him. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the dashing actor revealed that it’s indeed true.

Harshvardhan Rane said, “I don’t want to take his name. He’s a working actor and I am working with him on one of his films. He’s an extremely good-looking guy, in the zone of Hrithik Roshan. Aap dekhoge toh aap khud bhi maanoge. He was selected. He was sitting in the office and doing script reading. 2 days later, the photoshoot of the film was going to take place with Mawra ji (Mawra Hocane). They were all set.”

Harshvardhan Rane continued, “I reached the office and told them that they had called me for an audition six months ago. They replied, ‘Tumhe 6 mahine pehle bulaya tha. Tum ab aa rahe ho?’. I explained that since I was working down South, I couldn’t make it. I insisted on an audition. They straight away refused and said, ‘Ladka bagal mein baitha hua hai. Nahi ho sakta’. However, I kept on insisting. ‘Mujhe reject kar dijiye, mujhe bahar bhaga dijiye. Lekin mera audition aap dekh lijiye’, I told them. They kept on rejecting and I kept on pleading. Finally, they agreed.”

Harshvardhan revealed, “They took my audition and 1 ½ hour later, they told me to give another audition. They felt that ‘Tukke se itna achha audition aa gaya hoga’! I gave another audition. They came out of the room. This time, they were teary-eyed. They said, ‘Pata nahin tune kya jadoo kiya hai’. They added that they are going to face a loss as they have spent money and invested in the costumes and that they’ll have to do it all over again. They then said that they are taking me in the film and hugged me.”

Harshvardhan then said, “I had to use the washroom. I had to pass by that boy who was supposed to do the film. It was my life’s most embarrassing walk. I knew that he has no idea (that he was out). Just last year, I met him and hugged him. Itne saalon ke baad!”

When asked if that actor is cool with whatever happened, Harshvardhan Rane replied, “Yes, he is. He’s rather very generous with his compliments.”

Student Of The Year (2012) completed 10 years this year, on October 19. It was the debut flick of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra and in other words, even they completed a decade in the industry. A lot was spoken about their fascinating careers and also their much-loved first film, directed by Karan Johar. Bollywood Hungama spoke exclusively to Niranjan Iyengar, who wrote the dialogues of the film. The writer, who has also written popular films such as Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Wake Up Sid (2009), Kurbaan (2009), My Name Is Khan (2010), We Are Family (2010), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) and a segment in Ghost Stories (2020) for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, besides Student Of The Year, talked about the film, his memories and a lot more…

How did you celebrate the tenth anniversary of Student Of The Year?
The truth is it didn’t even occur to me that Student Of The Year completed 10 years until I started reading the posts! It was a good feeling. But at the same time, I was amazed that time really passes by so fast. It seemed so recent that I worked on the film and we went to Thailand to shoot some scenes.

At what point did you become a part of the project?
I was a part of the film from the very beginning if I am not mistaken. I don’t have that much memory of the chronology of the events. At that time, I was working on literally every film that Karan was directing. By the time we had finished My Name Is Khan, he was telling me that he wants to make a film, which is light-hearted. Since then, discussions were going on that it’ll be set in a college and that it will feature youngsters etc. We were also toying with the various cast options. I was always a part of it though my job started much later. Karan and Rensil worked on the screenplay after which I came on board to write the dialogues. But the discussions were happening continuously with Karan. I had a fair idea of what he was planning to do in the film.

The film’s dialogues had a youthful appeal. How did you achieve it?
It was a challenge. By the time I bagged the film, I was already in my 40s! So Karan and I were clear that we do not want to sound like two older people trying to be young. It had to be genuinely and organically young. However, Karan always has an idea of what he wants to make as a film. So that really helps as then everyone working on the film needs to just follow his brief.

I guess you guys succeeded in your endeavor as the dialogues worked with the target audience…
(Smile) Yes, and I got a lot of help on the sets. I picked up stuff from kids who were working in the film. For instance, Sidharth Malhotra is from Delhi. So, he had the typical Delhi lehza. He knew what the words meant. Nevertheless, it was one of the standout films I had done and I enjoyed the experience.

A few dialogues like that about Push up bra were also there but you and Karan ensured it didn’t cross the line…
I don’t remember half the dialogues that I have written, honestly speaking, as it was so away from my world!

You said you went on the sets of the film…
Yes. For all films of Karan, I have travelled through and through. I’ve never not been there on the sets. Student Of My Year was no exception.

How was it to see Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra act in their debut film?
Varun already had a film background. And so did Alia. I feel proud when I see her. Alia was my suggestion to Karan Johar for Student Of The Year. I was already working with her father, Mahesh Bhatt, and her sister, Pooja. I used to bump into Alia very often when I used to go to Bhatt saab’s house. She was a young kid then. I have seen her since she was in school. We and Bhatts worked on Jism (2003) in 2001-02. I always thought that she could become an actress. When Karan was casting for Student Of The Year, I suggested her name. The tests happened and the rest is history!

Similarly, I had seen Varun, on and off, on David Dhawan’s sets, and also otherwise. Sidharth is somebody with whom I worked on My Name Is Khan. So, I knew all three of them in various capacities and knew that they had their strengths. It was lovely that their strengths were used perfectly in Student Of The Year. No wonder they have gone on to make successful careers for themselves.

Alia Bhatt has had a great year with Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings and now Brahmastra…
I am not surprised at all. When I saw Alia as a kid, I knew she is special. How special she’s going to be and how she surpassed everybody’s expectations were unexpected. For that, she gets full credit. One of the most wonderful things about Alia was that even in her debut film, there was no instruction that you had to give her the second time. Whether it is about camera movement, hair, make-up, lights, etc. you just have to tell Alia once. And that was really amazing when I was witnessing her. I was doing dialogue writing and my job was already done when I went on the set. My job is to listen to the dialogue delivery and make sure it’s all right. So, I had a lot of free time on the set to observe a lot of stuff. And this is when I noticed about Alia. She’s an exceptionally talented girl.

During the treasure hunt scene, there’s a dialogue by Sahil Anand, ‘Yeh raaz kaun batayega? Mahesh Bhatt?’…
(Laughs) This is something we keep doing. We did that in Kal Ho Naa Ho as well. We used a dialogue of Jism, which I had written. It was our way of having a little fun!

You last worked with Karan Johar in Ghost Stories. It’s been a while since you worked with him…
Yes. But I’ll write something soon. There are a couple of films I am working on. I am also dabbling in television. I also produce. We have a company named Electric Apples Entertainment. We produced Indoo Ki Jawani (2020) and a short film, Devi (2020). Electric Apples Entertainment is putting up a couple of projects, which will be announced next year. It was a little break I had to take from writing as I was busy with all this work and also, COVID happened.

You also wrote the dialogues for Ayan Mukerji’s debut film, Wake Up Sid, which was also produced by Karan Johar…
Ayan had a lot to do with Wake Up Sid’s dialogues. He fought with me tooth and nail on how he wanted the dialogues to be. This is despite the fact that I was experienced and I kept feeling that this is not how it should be. Yet, he stuck to his guns and he was right. When I saw the film, I realized, ‘Oh, this is what he was trying to attempt’. It was wonderful. Ayan is extremely talented.

You also had a chat show, ‘Look Who’s Talking With Niranjan’. Do you have any plans for Season 3?
I did that show as the producers had a lot of faith in me. I didn’t have the faith in myself to face the camera and interview people. I did two seasons and I really had an enjoyable experience. But then, after that, I decided to take a break. Now, I don’t know. I guess it’s upto the makers.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who seems to be in love with social media, posted photos from the Diwali celebration at her residence. Dressed in Indian traditional style, the actress opted for a bun hairdo along with a red kurta set and ethnic jhumkas. On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan and their sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan were dressed in matching looks which included a black kurta and white pajamas. Many people commented on the ‘Taimur crying’ photo which included some of industry people and even several fans. Digital content creator Kusha Kapila dropped a comment on the series of photos saying, “It’s the last picture for me”. Whereas, husband Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of the magnum opus Adipurush featuring him as Lankeshwar along with Prabhas in the titular role and Kriti Sanon as Seeta.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham 

The 2001 release, directed by Karan Johar, is about a brother going beyond the limits to get his elder brother back home. Raksha Bandhan 

The Anand L Rai directorial is one of the latest editions from Bollywood to this niche genre. The film revolves around Lala Kedarnath, the eldest and only brother of 4 sisters, and his relentless efforts of getting his sisters married. The film had received a decent response from the audience.

South Korean band BTS’ member Jin was spotted at the international airport on Monday morning while leaving for Buenos Aires, Argentina to perform his solo single ‘The Astronaut’ at the Coldplay concert on October 28.

On the morning of October 24, Jin arrived at the Seoul airport to leave for Argentina where he is set to perform his new single alongside the British band Coldplay. The pop singer looked dapper in Louis Vuitton holding a plushie of Wootteo which is his mascot for his solo promotions.

Jin and Coldplay will perform ‘The Astronaut’ live together for the first time. The concert will take place at Buenos Aires’ River Plate Stadium on October 28 (local time). A live cinema broadcast of the concert will be available worldwide. The live performance of the song will also be available to watch on BTS’ official YouTube channel after the concert ends. ‘The Astronaut,’ co-written by Jin and Coldplay, is set to be released at midnight ET on October 28.

Meanwhile, BTS’ youngest member Jungkook was also spotted at the Seoul airport, the same morning, as he was flying with a chartered aircraft to Qatar for promoting the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He was spotted in casuals paired with glasses and greeting his fans and reporters.

On the work front, Jungkook was recently featured on Benny Blanco’s track ‘Bad Decisions’ along with Jin, Jimin and Jungkook. He also collaborated with Charlie Puth on his album for the track ‘Left and Right’.

Another Diwali box-office clash is awaited at the box office. Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, Ram Setu will face off Ajay Devgn’s Thank God. This marks his second clash this year after Raksha Bandhan clashed at the box office with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in August. The actor says that it is not a clash and fans will watch the film that will appeal to them the most.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor said, “There is no clash. Let’s not refer to it as that. They are two films, with different appeals, releasing on the same day. It’s happened in the past and it will happen in the future. Fans will choose to watch the one that appeals to them the most or better still, watch both. The main objective is for our fans to enjoy the festival at the movies with friends and family.”

The story of Ram Setu revolves around an atheist archaeologist turned believer, Dr. Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India’s heritage. The actor said that the film is rooted in Indian culture. “Ram Setu is very proudly rooted in Indian history and culture. On the factual side, the team has relied on deep research to represent what is true and bring out several unknown facts. On the spiritual, sentimental side, we have not only remained emotionally respectful, but I can assure you that the values and beliefs associated with Shri Ram and Ram Setu are being uniquely upheld,” he added.

With Akshay Kumar in the lead, the film also stars Satyadev Kancharana, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez and M. Nasser in primary roles.

India won the T20 World Cup match in Melbourne against Pakistan in one of the most thrilling matches of all time. Cricketer Virat Kohli made his long-awaited comeback and was hailed for his performance. Virat Kohli’s performance on Sunday took over social media.

As Virat and team Indian triumphed during the match, many celebrities took to social media to congratulate them. Vicky Kaushal also congratulated Kohli for his impressive performance in the match and called it a “Diwali gift.”

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma, actor and wife of Virat, could not contain her excitement upon seeing his performance. She shared a loving note for Virat as she watched the match at home. “You beauty!! You freaking beauty!! You have brought sooooo much joy in peoples lives tonight and that too on the eve of Diwali! You are a wonderful wonderful man my love. Your grit, determination and belief is mind boggling !!”

She continued, “I have just watched the best match of my life I can say and although our daughter is too small to understand why her mother was dancing around and screaming wildly in the room, one day she will understand that her dad played his best innings that night which followed after a phase that was tough on him but he came out of it stronger and wiser than ever before!"

Punjabi actress Shehnaaz Gill shook a leg with Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa at the Diwali party hosted by producer Krishan Kumar.

As reported by News 18, on Sunday night, the Bigg Boss 13 star was snapped at producer Krishan Kumar’s Diwali bash which was attended by several other celebrities including Kiara Advani, Shilpa Shetty, Shriya Saran, Ananya Panday, Himesh Reshammiya, Karan Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash.
