As the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan is on its way to create history, Bollywood Hungama spoke to trade experts and exhibitors to get a better idea of the excitement on-ground. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh euphorically said, “It will create tehelka, aag laga degi. Toofan aa raha hai September 7 ko!” He added, “Look at the advance booking trend. It is unbelievable. The tickets are getting sold so fast. It’s like there’s a sale and shoppers are rushing to the mall before others grab the best deal. Moreover, the tickets don’t cost Rs. 50 or 100. These are priced at blockbuster rates.”

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, stated, “The advance is mind-blowing and above my expectations. I was indeed expecting big numbers but this is huge. After Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Gadar 2, OMG 2, Dream Girl 2 and now Jawan, Hindi cinema has come back and how!”

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, who in a rare instance will play the 6:00 am show of Jawan, said, “We played 6:00 am shows for KGF - Chapter 2 (2022) and Pathaan (2023) and have now kept for Jawan due to insane demand.” He added, “The response is very good, as expected. Aisi film banayenge toh response toh aayega hi na!”

Taran Adarsh said in agreement, “Exhibitors told me that 6:00 am or 7:00 am shows are fast-filling. That shows that people are ready to step out so early in the morning. This happened for Pathaan and KGF - Chapter 2 as well.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, observed that the trailer also did the trick, “I loved the trailer. It caters to all sections of the audience. It looks like a complete masala action entertainer, which is what was expected from the film.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan added to this point, “The trailer came out in the last moment. And the advance opened the next day. It capitalized on the anticipation among the audience. Also, the way Shah Rukh Khan promoted the film in Chennai and Dubai was quite smart.”

He even said, “The demand for this film is so huge that the makers could have released the trailer only in cinemas instead of YouTube. They could have charged Rs. 50 per ticket. Issi se Jawan Rs. 100-150 crores kama leti!”

Jawan vs The Nun II Jawan, however, will have to share the showcasing with the Hollywood horror film, The Nun II. Taran Adarsh feels the film also has a chance to score, “A lot of moviegoers reach a theatre and don’t get the ticket of their desired film. So that spill over of that film, which in this case is Jawan, benefits the next film. People think ‘Itni duur aaye hai toh dusri film dekh lete hai’. Jawan, obviously, will be the first priority.”

Girish Johar also said along the same lines, “It’s a given that not just 2, even if 3 films arrive on the same day, all can do well. They might get the overflow of Jawan. If it’s a good film, it’ll benefit.”

Vishek Chauhan said, “The previous film did a business of Rs. 46 crores. This shows that it has an audience and hence, The Nun II can also work.”

He also thundered, “A film creates its own demand. Some so-called experts were predicting that Jawan will be affected by the Gadar 2 wave. But look at the advance of Jawan. Gadar 2 had a huge run and OMG 2 also made its mark. If there’s merit in your film and a demand, the audiences will flock to the cinemas. Even Oppenheimer and Barbie co-existed and earned well globally. Gadar, OMG 2, and Dream Girl 2 ran successfully together. If your film comes solo, it’ll still suffer if it’s not worth it.”

Atul Mohan made a pun-intended statement about The Nun II’s clash with Jawan, “None will sustain opposite Jawan!” He also said, “Jawan will get maximum screens. Look at the craze. It’ll get more shows. Warner Bros will have to struggle for screens.”

Raj Bansal agreed, “I doubt the film can work. There’s no way it can get shows in single screens. In the multiplexes, it’ll get but only in metros. In multiplexes of smaller cities, it might not get a single show.” He also remarked, “Chandigarh, Indore, Jaipur ke theatres mein majboori mein ya studio ke pressure se show de denge. But when exhibitors see that Jawan has sold so many tickets in limited shows, they’ll give the balance shows to the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer as well. They want to make money, after all.”

Ruban Mathivanan of GK Cinemas, Chennai revealed, “Only the multiplexes in Tamil Nadu will play The Nun II. The single-screens will only screen Jawan. Also, a prominent distributor, Red Giant, is distributing Jawan here.”

To conclude Jawan once proves the supremacy of Shah Rukh Khan, “Call him King, Baadshah, whatever. The fact is that he’s number 1 to number 5. Even overseas, he’s the undisputed emperor.” He also said, “Jawan will set new records. Shah Rukh Khan is not going to compete with anyone. He’s going to compete with himself. It’s Shah Rukh vs Shah Rukh aka Jawan vs Pathaan.”

He smiled as he remembered the golden days of cinema, “Ek positivity ki lehar aa rahi hai. The Kerala Story, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Dream Girl 2 all did very well. The time is taking me back to the 70s. Then, there used to be a release of a multi-starrer every second week. And most of these films used to be big hits at the box office. I used to wonder ki woh din kab aayenge aur lo, acche din wapis aa gaye!”

Vishek Chauhan compared the current time with the 90s, “90s waala time wapis aa raha hai. Then, Sunny Deol’s action film would prove to be a big hit followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s big-ticket film. All these films used to have terrific openings.”

He also made a plea to the Bollywood producers before signing off, “There was a song in Bombay Boys (1998), ‘Khaane Ka Peena Ka’, which had a line, ‘Abey asmaani kabootar. Balcony se utar kar stall mein aa’. This is what the audience is telling Bollywood, ‘Balcony se utar ke stall mein aa jaao kyunki Ganga yahin pe hai’! If you make a film for the stalls, even the balcony audience will enjoy.”

The festival's offerings include the Screenwriters Lab, Short Film Competition, Photography Workshop, and Masterclasses, curated by esteemed professionals from the Indian film industry, apart from the array of films that the festival will showcase over the five-day duration.

For amateur photographers from Ladakh keen to hone their skills, The Himalayan Film Festival is hosting an exclusive photography workshop led by renowned photographer and filmmaker, Achal Mishra. Hailing from the city of Darbhanga in Bihar, Achal’s debut feature film Gamak Ghar premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival, and was awarded the Manish Acharya Award for New Voices in Indian Cinema. This one-day, hands-on workshop is designed to elevate one's photography skills amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh. As part of the interactive session, Achal will also display some of his own work to illustrate different aspects of the craft, including the editing and sequencing process.

THFF invited filmmakers across the 12 Himalayan States/UTs of India who find inspiration in the rugged beauty and majestic allure of the mountains to participate in their Short Film Competition. While I'd wanted to be a filmmaker since my school days, it was a film festival at the Indian Habitat Centre in Delhi that gave me further encouragement to pursue this ambition. Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal is doing his first out-and-out family entertainer in his 10-year career with YRF’s The Great Indian Family (TGIF). Vicky reveals that he is lucky to have finally found a film from his favourite genre with TGIF as it brings back fond memories from his growing-up years!

With two days left before the release of Jawan, the anticipation for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is on an all-time high. This marks his second release following the blockbuster Pathaan in January. Ahead of the release, the actor visited Tirupati along with his daughter Suhana Khan, co-star Nayanthara and manager Pooja Dadlani.

After seeking blessings at Vaishno Devi last week, Shah Rukh Khan was seen seeking blessings at the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple. In the video has surfaced online, he wore a white traditional attire for the temple as he waved at them and blew flying kisses. Suhana was donning a white salwar suit. Meanwhile, the film looks set to open to a thunderous start. In fact, the film had sold as many as 246,000 tickets in the two biggest national multiplex chains in India for the first day alone until 10.45 am on September 4. As per the update Jawan has seen sales of 203,000 tickets across PVR + INOX and a further 43,000 tickets being sold across Cinepolis theatres. Interestingly, these sales are just for the film’s opening day, September 7.

With Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma starrer Jaane Jaan set to release on September 21 on Netflix, production house 12th Street Entertainment is ready to take us for another thrilling ride. While their upcoming slate is packed, the production house is thrilled to be working on several projects. Amongst them is the sequel to Bhoot Police. The sequel, which has been in the works, has been officially announced by the producer.

Bhoot Police released in 2021 and stars Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam. It was directed by Pawan Kripalani. The horror-comedy is now getting a second installment. However, the cast and the other details are under wraps. Back in October 2022, Saif Ali Khan told Bollywood Hungama, “I loved the script and I liked my role in Bhoot Police. It continues to be one of the most watched films on that platform, and they are very keen to do a sequel.”

Additionally, 12th Street Entertainment is also gearing up for the remake of the 2010 South Indian neo-noir film Aaranya Kaandam. The Tamil-language crime drama, written and directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, stars Jackie Shroff, Ravi Krishna, Sampath Raj, Yasmin Ponnappa, Guru Somasundaram and Master Vasanth. The film was released in 2010.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited action entertainer Jawan has created the proper noise. With only three days remaining for its release in the theatres, the superstar hosted a Q&A session on Sunday amid the much anticipation around the movie. As per the earlier report, 1,00,000 tickets are blocked by brands for the holiday period, which will be distributed among their privileged consumers. Meanwhile, as per a Bollywood Hungama report, the film had sold as many as 222,500 tickets in India's two biggest national multiplex chains for the first day alone until 7 PM on Sunday, September 3. As per the update Jawan has seen sales of 183,500 tickets across PVR + INOX and a further 39,000 tickets being sold across Cinepolis theatres. Interestingly, these sales are just for the film’s opening day, Thursday September 7.

Earlier this week, the makers of the movie unveiled the title of the movie as Jaane Jaan which is inspired by an iconic song sung by Lata Mangeshkar of the same name from the 1969 film Intaqam, picturized on Helen. The song is written by Rajinder Krishan whereas it was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

The Netflix movie Jaane Jaan is expected to feature him in a never-before-seen avatar of a genius mathematician. The industry, trade and moviegoers are gearing up for the release of Jawan, starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The social media and entertainment news websites are regularly reporting about the insane ticket sales and it has further enhanced the excitement for the action entertainer. However, Jawan is not the only major release on September 7. The Nun II will also arrive in theatres on the same day. With Jawan getting an unprecedented response from the advance ticket sales, the Hollywood horror film is finding it very tough to get screens.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Warner Bros team is in constant touch with the multiplex chain and other theatres. They are aware that Jawan is a very big opposition. Hence, they are asking for limited shows. Even then, many theatre owners don’t seem interested.”

The source continued, “Warner Bros was one of the first ones to release films in cinemas in 2020 when most producers preferred to wait for normalcy or released their films directly on OTT. This was a time when the studio released not just big-ticket films like Tenet (2020) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) but also smaller films. It was done in the larger interest of the theatres so that they have content to play and the habit of watching films in cinemas is re-cultivated among audiences. And now, the theatres are showing their back to the same studio that supported them in tough times.”

The source also added, “And it’s not like The Nun II will not find an audience. It’s a huge franchise. The previous part, The Nun (2018), collected Rs. 8 crores on day 1 and had lifetime earnings of Rs. 46.46 crores. The Nun II can also have healthy collections if it’s given a chance. Just last month, the monstrous blockbuster Gadar 2 set the box office on fire. But it wasn’t the only release. OMG 2 was also released on the same day and did huge business. Similarly, Evil Dead Rise, also backed by Warner Bros, clashed with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan on Eid 2023 and collected Rs. 36.50 crores. The same model can be successfully applied with Jawan and The Nun II as well.”

An exhibitor on condition of anonymity said, “The single-screens have no choice but to play Jawan, looking at the response. The multiplexes should release The Nun II. But theatres with two or three screens will find it hard to do so as they also have to accommodate holdover releases like Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Dream Girl 2, all of which are still doing well.”

Another source said, “The Nun II will be able to get a minimum of 1000 screens. Things will be resolved in a few days.” The horror film releases not just in English but also in dubbed Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.

Meanwhile, there are chances that Warner Bros will release Barbie in IMAX in India on September 22. The blockbuster film will be released with extra footage.

The actress further added, “There was a time that I subscribed to glossies and tabloids, but that passed very quickly. I could not relate at all to the person they presented me as. The headlines would be adulatory one day and vicious the very next. There was little by way of fact checking, and no remorse for errors made. When they got the story right - it was usually a colossal breach of privacy. When they got it wrong - those blatant lies would be taken as the gospel. These “scandals” took their toll. It was its own form of public humiliation, and I remember the anxiety, outrage and grief that came with these.”

“At some point my skin toughened, and the realisation dawned that it was impossible for me to challenge the persona that they wanted to create. The one time I confronted an erstwhile editor about a malicious story, she was full of excuses but not a single apology. I made up my mind then not to take it personally. Undignified as it was, their only interest was selling their magazines,” said Aman.

“All this is just to say - people will always find reason to talk, and so it’s probably best not to allow their opinion or perception to define your life. You can do that for yourself,” Aman concluded.

The month of August was a great one for the industry thanks to the performance of films like Gadar 2, OMG 2, Jailer, Dream Girl 2 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The Hindi version of Jailer didn’t get adequate shows due to the release of too many films. But it managed to trend quite well, surprising trade and industry since all the dubbed Hindi versions of South films that were released earlier in 2023 had flopped. But this Tamil blockbuster was an exception as it found takers in Hindi.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that the Hindi version of the Rajinikanth starrer suffered a few cuts. As per the cut list, three modifications were requested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The visuals of the beheaded body were reduced and replaced with suitable shots. Similarly, the visuals of Muthu (Rajinikanth) holding a sliced ear were modified.

And that’s not all. The CBFC’s examining committee also asked for an audio cut. It asked the makers to remove the mention of blockbuster filmmaker Rakesh Roshan as ‘the name was used in a derogatory context’.

Once these changes were carried out, the Hindi version of Jailer was given a censor certificate on August 8. The film was passed with a U/A rating with the final run time of 165 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Hindi version of Jailer, like the original version, was released in cinemas on August 10.

The Tamil version of Jailer suffered more cuts. It went through 11 modifications, most of which were of violent and gory visuals being modified or removed. In a rare instance, the CBFC asked for the blood splash level in a few scenes to be reduced. A few changes in the dialogues were also carried out after which the censor certificate was granted on July 27, 2023.

Rakesh Roshan was recently in the news when his much-loved sci-fi classic, Koi Mil Gaya (2003), starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, completed 20 years on August 8. Then last week, when Chandryaan-3 mission was successful, the West Bengal Chief Minister mistakenly referred to Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma as Rakesh Roshan. The video clip went viral in no time.

Aditya Chopra is building the YRF Spy Universe brick by brick and his next offering is Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif which is slated for release this Diwali. On September 2, YRF launched the first poster of this action entertainer, and it promises to be an insane, jaw-dropping action spectacle as two super-spies Tiger and Zoya take on their most deadly mission yet. Furthermore, the poster also makes a reference to the rest of the films in the spy universe including Tiger Zinda Hai as well as the Hrithik Roshan starrer War and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan.

Tiger aka Salman Khan is the OG of the YRF Spy Universe as Ek Tha Tiger (2012) silently put the plan in motion to create slick super-spies that Indian cinema has never seen before. It was Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai’s (2017) success that cemented Aditya Chopra’s belief that he could incorporate two more larger-than-life agents Kabir aka Hrithik Roshan in War and Pathaan aka Shah Rukh Khan into his ambitious plans. It was in Pathaan that Aditya Chopra officially revealed that he was building the YRF Spy Universe, which is now the biggest IP in Indian cinema. The crossover of characters from this ambitious spy universe also started with Pathaan, which saw a union of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in an adrenaline pumping action sequence that celebrated the superstardom of these two cinematic icons.

YRF has officially revealed in the first poster of Tiger 3 that the plot of this film, the fifth from the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe, will follow the events of Tiger Zinda Hai, War & Pathaan. It signals YRF’s intent to tell audiences and fans that every film featuring these super-spies will be interconnected. Tiger 3 has been directed by Maneesh Sharma and it is also expected to star Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.

As expected, the advance booking of Atlee directorial Jawan opened with a bang on Friday, September 1, at 10:00 am. From East to West, North to South, the tickets for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer sold like hot tickets, even though the release is 6 days away. Bollywood Hungama spoke to the prominent members of the exhibition sector and all of them said in unison that the advance booking and the manner in which tickets are getting sold are HISTORIC.

Kamal Gianchandani, President, MAI, CEO of PVR Pictures Ltd and Chief Business Planning & Strategy of PVR Ltd, said, “The advance is excellent. It’s currently tracking higher than Pathaan. I think it’s well poised for a humongous opening.” He added, “The first day can be historic.”

When asked if it’s at par with Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (2017) and KGF - Chapter 2 (2022), he replied, “It’s difficult to comment but I would think it’s more (than KGF and Baahubali).”

Rajender Singh Jyala, chief programming officer of INOX Leisure Ltd, agreed, “The advance booking is phenomenal. It is the highest advance that we have seen for any film at PVR Inox.” He revealed, “We opened the booking in the morning. In less than 12 hours, we have sold over 1,25,000 tickets. This is unprecedented.”

Shashank Raizada of Delite Cinemas, New Delhi, said, “The advance is superb. It is unprecedented. After a long time, we have seen advance booking of this kind! It looks like Jawan will be a huge hit. There’s tremendous demand for the film.”

When asked if the advance is more than the other big grossers of 2023, he answered, “The advance is higher than that of Gadar 2 and Pathaan. This is very good news for the industry.”

An article on exhibition will be incomplete without the mention of Raj Mandir, the iconic single screen theatre in Jaipur. Kishore Kala shared, “The advance is fantastic. We have sold 5000 tickets for 4 days. For the first day, we have sold nearly 2500 tickets.”

When asked to compare with the other biggies of the year, he said, “The advance is much better. Gadar 2 initially didn’t have a huge advance. It gradually became big, as the release date neared. Pathaan was huge. But Jawan’s sales are more than that of Gadar 2 and Pathaan.”

Even down South, Jawan has made waves. Venkat Prasad, Senior Manager - Programming at Hyderabad’s popular theatre, Prasads, was all smiles as he told us, “The advance is tremendous. We opened the booking for very limited shows. And all 8 shows were sold out, in a very short span of time.”

He further said, “The advance booking is more than any Hindi film and also quite fastest.” He also added, “Even the shows of the weekend are fast-filling. We’ll slowly increase the shows now.”

With such ticket sales and strong demand, one expects the Red Chillies Entertainment Production Jawan to collect unheard numbers on the first day of release, that is, September 7.

In her recent interview, actress Kalki Koechlin candidly discussed her current relationship with her ex-husband and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who happens to be presenting her latest film, Goldfish. Kalki revealed that although the years following their divorce were challenging, they have now forged a strong and supportive friendship.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann Khurrana said, “Ek baat mere mann mein clear thi ki yeh film unn logon ke liye hain hi nahi joh magnifying glass leke baithe hain. Yeh clear tha. Agar woh aap dimag se nikaal de….This is for the outright massy comedy commercial single-screen small-town audience. Joh Gadar 2 ki audience hain, woh hi iski audience hai. Aap logic nahi laga sakte ismein, (This film is not for them who will be watching it with a magnifying glass. If you take that out of the mind... this film is an outright massy entertainer and has the same audience which is also watching Gadar 2, you cannot put logic in this).”

He added, “Ismein aap intricacies mein nahi ja sakte. Waise koi message nahi hain film ke andar. But dekha jaye toh it's also inclusive enough. Matlab halka sa LGBTQ chhoo ke jati hain. Joh Abhishek Banerjee ka character last mein bolta hain, ‘Love is love.’ There's an acceptance. There is a Muslim family jinki shadi ek Sardar se ho rahi hain, ek Hindu se ho rahi hain. Toh joh desi janta hai, unko toh lagega yeh progressive hain. Par joh magnifying glass le ke baithe hain, wo galtiyan nikaal sakte hain. Unke liye ye film hain hi nahi. (In Dream Girl 2, you cannot go into intricacies. There is no message in the film despite it trying to be progressive. The actor said that as long as a movie like Dream Girl 2 works, he can go ahead and have the courage to work on movies like Andhadhun, Article 15 and An Action Hero.

Earlier this week, Bollywood Hungama reported that superstar Aamir Khan has locked his next project! The actor will return to the big screen during Christmas 2024. The untitled project is set for December 20, 2024 release and he is reportedly co-producing the project with Sony Pictures. However, after Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir has been working on several productions under his banner and one of them is Ujjwal Nikam biopic.

The actor is joining hands with Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films for the project. Now, it is being reported that the actor is in talks to get National Award-Winning Marathi film, Killa and Paatal Lok director Avinash Arun for the project as the director. As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source said, “Avinash is working closely with Aamir and Dinesh Vijan to develop the screenplay of the Ujjwal Nikam Biopic. All the stakeholders are happy with the right energies associated with the project and are keen to take the film on floors next year.”

The casting is underway, though Aamir Khan also is keenly interested in playing the role himself. The source added, “It’s still not confirmed if Aamir will act in the film himself or if he will get another person on board. There are all sorts of conversations happening, and the team is also figuring out the permutation combinations with regard to the casting. He might just surprise everyone by acting in the film, or may just be associated as a producer.”

For unversed, Ujjwal Nikam is an Indian special public prosecutor who has been a part of several cases including murder and terrorism. He was a part of the team who helped prosecute the suspects of Gulshan Kumar murder case, 1993 bombings, Pramod Mahajan murder case, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Nikam was also the special public prosecutor in the 2013 Mumbai gang rape case, 2016 Kopardi rape and murder case. For the Mumbai 26/11 attacks trial, the prosecutor argued on behalf of the state. The prosecutor has Z+ security for himself which is the second highest security detail in India.

As of now, Aamir Khan will produce a Hindi remake of the Spanish movie Campeones. He is reportedly also producing Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey Remake, Pritam Pyaare, Lapata Ladies and Love Today. While Campeons titled Champions, will be headlined by Farhan Akhtar, it is unclear whether Aamir is starring in any of the above projects. Rani discloses, “Mardaani 3 is in the ideation stage. Once YRF has a great and concrete story idea, Mardaani 3 will get into the scripting stage. I’m excited to see how Mardaani 3 shapes up! I am crossing my fingers because I would love to play the part of Shivani.”

She adds, “When I did Mardaani 2, I was quite nervous because I had never done a sequel before. I was like how will it happen? Because I leave my characters behind each time a film gets over and I don’t know if I will be able to reprise that part again. With Mardaani 2, I was surprised that I enjoyed reprising the part. So now I have tasted blood. So now I want to reprise it again in 3.”

Rani says Mardaani 3’s script will need to be exceptional because the expectation from audiences is sky-high from this franchise and they would need to see a crackingly fresh story!

Rani says, “I will be very happy and excited if the Mardaani 3 script comes about really something that we would make a film. Because I as an actor always believe that we don’t want to do a film because it sounds good. We need to do a film when the script is good and when we want to make a film which is making a difference.”

She adds, “With Mardaani 3 we can’t make a film if the story does not have that substance. It has to be something that people relate to today, the girls find it empowering. Thanking choreographer Yogi Babu, he added, “Yogi Babu, thank you so much. I remember him from Chennai. He was so shy and so quiet. And I remember I came to market the film here. And everybody was screaming and shouting in the theatre. For one brief moment, I thought it was for me. And then I realized, no, they were all pushing me aside and they just wanted to say, Yogi Babu, so thank you so much for being part of Jawan, you are awesome sir.”

He continued his speech, “Our editor who's been working round the clock. He says I will only have a haircut only after he finishes editing the film. He's not had a haircut yet. I didn't know that you have to edit the many speeches now. It's not the film that you need to edit. Your speeches have to be edited. But I'm saying this all with love. I do not need to judge these great technicians who will be part of the film.”

It seems like the long feud between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan has come to an end which reportedly had started during Darr release. However, following the blockbuster success of Gadar 2, SRK made a call to Sunny to congratulate him on his win at the box office. SRK recently revealed that he had watched the movie and loved it.

Sunny told Times Now, “Shah Rukh Khan had seen the film. Before that, he had called me and wished me well. He was so happy, and he told me, ‘I'm so happy, you genuinely deserve it’ and I said thank you. Then I spoke to his wife (Gauri Khan) and his son (Aryan Khan). And he said tonight we are going to be watching this film. And after that, he had seen it, and I think that is when he tweeted.”

“It was so beautiful. Many times I've also called him up and we shared our thoughts on certain things,” he sai. He added, “About the past issues - whatever they were, I would say time heals everything and we move ahead. That's the way life should be.”

Previously, Deol was unhappy with the way SRK’s character in Darr was glorified. During an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny said, “At the end of the day, people loved me in the film. They loved Shah Rukh Khan as well. My only issue with the film was that I did not know they would glorify the villain. I always work in films with an open heart and believe in the person. I believe working with trust. Unfortunately, we have many actors and stars who don’t function in this manner. Maybe that’s the way they want to get their stardom.”

Following his appearance alongside his partner Tamannaah Bhatia in Lust Stories 2, Vijay is eagerly anticipating the unveiling of his upcoming project, Jaane Jaan. This enigmatic thriller finds Vijay collaborating with fellow performers Jaideep Ahlawat and Kareena Kapoor Khan. In a recent interview, the actor delved into his encounters while working alongside these co-stars within the film.

Helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is a rendition of the Japanese book titled ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’. When asked about collaborating with Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actor expressed that Kareena holds a special place in everyone's hearts. Vijay told DNA, “Her work is so iconic that today auditions are conducted using her lines and based on her characters. She has created a type. Now, in this film, she will be seen in a whole new avatar, something the audience has never seen before. It is a very inspiring performance.”

When discussing Jaideep, Vijay mentioned that he shared a sense of ease and familiarity with him. Vijay said, “Just like any cricket team, when you have good teammates, your game improves, and the audience likes it. Jaideep and I go long back. We have studied together so I had that comfort zone. From doing theatre exercises together to being on set together today, it has been a long journey. He is one of my favourite actors currently so he does make it easier.”

Apart from this, Vijay delivered back-to-back stellar performances with Darlings, Dahaad, Lust stories 2 and his most recent show, Kaalkoot. It definitely is the Year of Vijay Varma with a string of superlative performances. The filming of Sky Force is currently underway at the PAC Battalion in Sitapur, which has been ingeniously transformed into an air base for the cinematic narrative. The film's backdrop is set against the dynamic canvas of the Indian Air Force, adding an element of patriotic fervour to the story.

Meanwhile, Akshay was recently seen in OMG 2 alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film earned praise from critics and audience alike and performed well at the box office. Apart from Sky Force, Akshay has Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial, The Great Indian Rescue starring alongside Parineeti Chopra. The film is slated to release on October 5, 2023. Around 9 days are left for the release of Jawan and the excitement is growing with each passing day. Shah Rukh Khan fans are excited as the film’s promotion will reach its peak this week. Yesterday, the superstar revealed that the song 'Not Ramaiya Vastvaiya' will be unveiled today, that is, Tuesday, August 29. Its teaser has been loved and hence, its song release is keenly awaited.

This will be followed by a grand pre-release event of Jawan. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The event will take place in Chennai, at Sri Sairam Engineering College in the evening. It will probably be held in its sprawling indoor stadium, the details of which are kept under wraps. Also, it’s unclear whether or not it’s a music launch event. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the event will be graced by Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and director Atlee. Music director Anirudh is also expected to grace the occasion. More than a thousand students and fans will be in attendance.”

The source continued, “Recently, the pre-release event of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran (2023) was also held at Sri Sairam Engineering College. The events of South films usually take place in this fashion but for a Hindi film, this is a first, that too in Chennai. The Tamil industry and fans are excited as Shah Rukh Khan has a huge fan base down South. Hence, to see him and his film being promoted in their style has given them a kick.”

After the Chennai event, the much-awaited trailer of Jawan is expected to drop on Thursday, August 30. Shah Rukh Khan yesterday announced that he’ll be heading to Dubai, UAE where he’ll attend the film’s trailer launch on Thursday at the iconic structure, Burj Khalifa. The star asked fans to be a part of it and to wear red clothes for the launch.

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and Ridhi Dogra along with Deepika Padukone in a cameo. Jawan releases in cinemas worldwide on September 7, 2023.
