Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, known for his legendary acting prowess and an unparalleled fan following, recently shared his thoughts on his social media account, expressing why he goes to meet his fans bare feet every Sunday.

On Tuesday, Bachchan took to Instagram and shared a picture of himself greeting fans. Sharing the picture, he wrote in caption, “They ask me somewhat contentiously .. ‘who goes out to meet fans bare feet’ ? I tell them : ‘I do .. you go to the temple bare feet .. my well wishers on Sunday are my temple’ !! ‘You got a problem with that !!!”

Taking to his blog, he soke about comfort. Bachchan wrote, “Comfort be the elements of use in these times of uncared for attitudes , breaking away from any tradition that could have been imposed .. Shoes .. The comfort of the ‘sneakers’ or whatever else they may be called .. the nikes, the other brands , all .. now the formal wear irrespective .. that black patent leather, that polished bright , whatever , has disappeared .. the white bordered comfort wear be the IT .. !”

He further added, “Now the entire World is comforted by jeans and sneakers .. and the ladies with the same attire - even tights - for ease of movement at work .. Oh ! this is a lovely World .. !!! COVER THY MODESTY .. WITH PRIDE .. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS ..”

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai last year, which also starred Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra. He has Project K helmed by Nag Ashwin. It's a sci-fi film that also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The film is simultaneously being shot in Hindi and Telugu. Bachchan will also soon feature in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84.

When Zoya Akhtar wrote her 2015 family-on-a-cruise waterborne road film Dil Dhadakne Do, which turned 8 on June 5, she intended to cast Kareena Kapoor Khan and her cousin Ranbir Kapoor as siblings. After all, as Zoya and her brother Farhan argued, this was the only opportunity that two charismatic Kapoor cousins would have to come together, as they cannot play the conventional lead pair for very obvious reasons.

As Zoya had reasoned at that time, it was either Kareena and Ranbir or Zoya and Farhan. Kareena agreed to do the film on condition that Ranbir would come on board to do her sibling’s role. Ranbir initially said yes and then opted out, ostensibly for reasons of a date clash with another project. However, sources had revealed that Ranbir was not sure at that point of time that he wanted to be seen on screen with his superstar-cousin.

After Ranbir’s exeunt, Kareena too expressed unwillingness to do the project arguing that she would rather not be seen as Ranveer Singh’s sibling. This was not the first time Ranveer stepped into Ranbir’s role. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela had first been offered to Ranbir. On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet was first offered to Ranveer Singh.

Veteran television and film actor Gufi Paintal passed away today morning due to age-related health-issues at a hospital in Mumbai, where he was recently admitted. He was 79. He was suffering from heart-related issues and blood pressure and his condition had become serious in recent times.

Gufi Paintal’s nephew and actor Hiten Paintal told to the news agency PTI (Press Trust of India), “Unfortunately, he is no more. He passed away at the hospital at around 9 am. His heart gave up. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.”

The actor’s family was quoted by Indian Express in a statement saying, “With profound grief we announce the sad demise of our father Mr Gufi Paintal. He passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by family.”

Gufi Paintal started acting in the mid-1970s by playing supporting roles in Hindi movies. He is known the most for playing the evergreen negative character of Shakuni Mama in BR Chopra’s classic television series Mahabharat, which had its first run from 1988 to 1990. He had reprised the character of Shakuni Mama many years later in the play Mahabharat – The Epic Tale since last few years. The play is produced by Puneet Issar, who played the famous character of Duryodhan in the BR Chopra show. He reprised the same character in the play.

Some of Gufi Paintal’s other notable TV shows include, Param Veer Chakra, Bahadur Shah Zafar, Kanoon, Om Namah Shivay, Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shri Krishn, Radha Krishn, Mahabharat Katha, CID, etc.

One of the most respected producers of Bollywood, Mukesh Bhatt, turns 70 today. On this special occasion, he gave a rare and exclusive interview to Bollywood Hungama wherein he spoke about his plans for the day and a lot more.

You have turned 70 today. How does it feel? Age is a number in the head. I have met a lot of 30-year-old kids who are older than me! So, it’s a game of the mind. If you feel old, you’ll be old. There are people who mentally feel old or they physically abuse your body so badly that their body starts rattling and gives an indication that they have become old. Fortunately, I have not abused my body. God has been kind. I have always been an active person. I have kept my mind alert and agile.

Has your family planned a bash to celebrate your 70th birthday? Yes. I could sense they are planning something behind my back!

Do you like such surprise bashes? See, I am not a spoilsport. If there’s something that’s giving them joy and they want to pamper their father whom they love a lot, why should I deprive them of the good feeling that they have for me? And who doesn’t enjoy being pampered? Pampering is something you enjoy whether you are 2 years old or 70 years old. It doesn’t change. Also, I think I have earned it and I deserved it. I think I need to be pampered for a change. I have worked too hard for it.

I have come a long way. I feel the time has come for me to allow myself to be pampered and not feel apologetic about it. I owe it to myself. For some stupid reason, we feel guilty to pamper ourselves. I have been in this situation. All the time, I was looking out for others whether it was my family, friends or office employees. There comes a time when you do feel, ‘Hello! What about me’? That doesn’t mean you are selfish.

Moreover, during the Covid-19 phase, a lot of people were forced to pause, sit down and rethink the life they are leading. We had the habit of running and being on one marathon run without even thinking or pausing. Covid gave us that chance to reflect. It did a lot of good for me. It cleared my outlook towards life and all those around me. I feel so happy that there’s a lot of clarity. There are no cobwebs in my head anymore at the age of 70.

Speaking of the box office, the year 2022 was a tough one for Bollywood. Do you think that the box office has improved this year? On the contrary, it has gotten worse. A lot of films have not worked. One blockbuster in the form of Pathaan doesn’t change the industry, does it? There was a time when there used to be a release every week. There used to be maara-maari to get theatres. Now, you have one release coming in about 1 ½ months.

You mean Zara Hatke Zara Bachke? Yes. Which was the big release before that?

The Kerala Story, 5 weeks back… 5 weeks mein ek bhi badi film release nahin hui. Aisa suna tha aapne pehle? This means that there is a lull. That’s because there are no buyers. Aap film bana toh loge lekin use release kaun karega? Some people want to lie and kid themselves that everything is fine. I don’t belong to the fantasy world. First, we tell lies and then we start believing in those lies.

How do we come out of this tough situation? Things won’t change unless we don’t work at real costs. I am not telling you to cut corners haphazardly. A rupee saved is not a rupee earned. A rupee well spent is a rupee earned. We have to make films at the right costs. Also, the industry is not making films. They are trading, ‘Itne paiso mein banao, itne mein bacho aur itne mein maal andar karo’. That party is over. There was a time when we used to make films only when we felt that we had a compelling story for a larger audience. That should be the base for any film. Don’t just run behind money. Instead, make a good film and let it touch viewers’ hearts. Then, money automatically follows you.

After successfully working together on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh are reuniting for the fourth time on his music epic, Baiju Bawra. The film is expected to go on floors in January 2024 with a marathon schedule featuring Ranveer and Alia Bhatt. And now, Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive scoop on the financial dealings of Ranveer with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

"Baiju Bawra is an expensive film and requires complete commitment from all the actors. Being the professional that he is, Ranveer has decided to let go off his acting fees completely and get into a profit-sharing agreement with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He wants to put the film above his own stakes and he can go to any extent when working with a master like Bhansali. He might take a nominal token amount from the filmmaker and keep the rest reserved for the film," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

The decision was taken to ensure that Bhansali can invest all the money in making the film at the scale that he has in mind. "The business dynamics have changed in the post-pandemic times, where producers are not putting in all the money as actor fees. So with changing times, the actors are also adapting to the new normal. If Baiju Bawra succeeds, Ranveer will get his market value and given the track record of this duo, success is assured," the trade source added.

Baiju Bawra will be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with Jayantilal Gada as the producer. It is slated to go on floors in January 2024.

I called Pratik who lives in the lane behind to drop by. He came cycling to the location. We chatted. Out of the blue, I asked him if he’d do a small passing shot. He agreed without blinking an eyelid. Up to the audience to find him!”

Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s father in Om Shanti Om which was released in 2007. Helmed by Farah Khan, the movie marked the debut of Deepika Padukone and was a story of reincarnation. In the latter half of the movie, Sheikh played the role of Rajesh Kapoor, father to a star named Om Kapoor, played by SRK. In a recent interview, the Pakistani actor revealed that he wanted just Rs. 1 for the movie as remuneration because he was honoured to work with Shah Rukh Khan.

In an interview with Gloss Etc, Javed Sheikh recently spoke about his experience working on Om Shanti Om. Speaking in Urdu, he said that he was roped in for the Farah Khan directorial and he refused to take any fee. He said, “Their manager came to me, and said they needed to sign the contract. I said, ‘Yes’. ‘What will be your fee?’ I said I won't take any money. The thing is that firstly it was a matter of honour for me that I am playing Shah Rukh's father in his biggest film ever. India has so many actors. You choose anyone and they will be ready to take on this role. But Shah Rukh and Farah Khan choosing me is a thing of honour for me. That’s why, because of Farah and Shah Rukh, I will not take any money.”

He said that the manager refused to listen to Sheikh and said that it was against the protocols. After a long discussion, Sheikh suggested, “You go and tell Shah Rukh I will take just one rupee. I'm not joking.” He said then the makers of the movie decided how much remuneration to pay him. “When they sent me the first cheque, it was shocking itself.”

Eventually, Javed Sheikh also worked in movies like My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves and Namastey London. However, India banned Pakistani artists a few years ago. When asked if he would work in Indian films again, he said, “Our political relations with Hindustan are not well these days, ever since BJP came into power. Maybe it will be better if a party other than BJP comes into power.”

After a long wait, the trailer of Sajid Nadiadwala and Namah Pictures's Satyaprem Ki Katha is all set for its release tomorrow. After giving a glimpse of this upcoming romantic musical love saga with the teaser and 'Naseeb Se' song, the makers dropped a beautiful poster, just a day before the release of the trailer.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has completed three decades in the film industry. The director took to his Instagram on Saturday to mark the occasion when he arrived in Mumbai, 30 years ago.

Sharing a photo of Punjab Mail, the filmmaker wrote that he arrived in Dadar on June 3, 1993.  He wrote, “3rd June , 1993 I landed at Dadar station .. it was raining. I didn't know that monsoons in Bombay were that long .. I remember taking my first local train from Dadar to Andheri to meet a friend, who came from Delhi before me. He who became the inspiration for @imtiazaliofficial 's most special film ‘Rockstar’. I got courage from both Jaggu and Imti to come to mumbai but then, they got into @sxcbom to do Mass Com .. and I just have been figuring ever since. So grateful to this city for everything and all the friends and memories that it has given me .. #karmbhoomi."

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be starring alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of the Citadel universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The untitled Citadel series based out of India is being helmed by renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who are the showrunners and directors. The local installment is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. Following the shoot in Mumbai and North India, the unit will also head to international locales like Serbia and South Africa. The untitled Indian Original Citadel series will most likely be a prequel to Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden starrer which wrapped the first season in May 2023.

Recently, it was confirmed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu will essay the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother in Citadel India. Speaking to E-Times, an insider said, “The international and Indian versions of Citadel are set in two different eras. Priyanka’s character is a child in Samantha’s Citadel. It’s like saying Tabu played Irrfan Khan’s mother in Life Of Pi. They didn’t even meet during the shooting.” The publication added that they called Samantha and she confirmed that she is playing Priyanka’s mother in the Citadel universe.

For the unversed, Varun Dhawan made his international debut with a cameo in Priyanka and Richard’s Citadel. In the fifth episode, Priyanka Chopra’s Nadia Sinh has a secret child with Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden and she has kept the news under wraps. During the flashback from 8 years ago, she makes a call to the terrorist Rahi Gambhir in an attempt to relocate to Spain after she finds out about her pregnancy. When she is confronted by Mason and Osy Ikhile (Carter Spence) about contacting Gambhir, she reveals that the man is, in fact, her father. Played by Paul Bazely, he helps her escape Citadel in order to move to Spain. Interestingly, the call that happens on the episode is dubbed by none other than Varun Dhawan. His cameo gets confirmed when the end credits roll and thank Varun.

Indian celebrities on Saturday took to social media to express their sadness over the tragic train accident in Odisha. As per the latest report in NDTV, at least 238 people were killed and more than 900 injured in the horrific collision between three trains. The officials have said that this is the country's deadliest rail accident in more than 20 years. The accident occurred between Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train on Saturday. The rescue operations are currently underway. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced one-day state mourning. Meanwhile, PM Modi, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Jr. NTR, and Sunny Deol among others are mourning the loss of lives.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is currently occupied with the promotional activities of his upcoming movie, Bloody Daddy helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Shahid told Instant Bollywood, “I don’t like them seeing me much. So, first day their first question was 'Why do people come up to you?' Because they hadn’t seen much of my work. Now, recently they just saw Jab We Met. It had come out in theatres. So, my mom took them to see it and Mira wanted them to go and see it. She was like 'This is one film where you are not like hitting people and doing all this intense stuff. It is a family viewing kind of film, so I want them to go and see it'. So, that actually, I think the first film of mine that they saw.”

Jab We Met was released in 2007. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the romantic comedy featured Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. The film received critical acclaim for its engaging storyline, strong performances, and memorable dialogues. It also became a commercial success, winning over the audience with its blend of romance, comedy, and emotional moments. To celebrate the spirit of love during the Valentine's Day week, the movie was re-released in theatres, and the response from the audience was nothing short of ecstatic.

For the unversed, Mira Rajput and Shahid Kapoor tied the knot in the year 2015 through arranged marriage. They have since built a strong relationship and have become one of Bollywood's most adored couples. Together, they have two children - a daughter named Misha Kapoor and a son named Zain Kapoor.

On the professional Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Raj & DK helmed web series Farzi that is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The series revolves around seven childhood friends who discover that life at 30 is definitely not what they had imagined while growing up. After two years as a virtual event, the 2023 Tudum livestream will be broadcast live in front of thousands of fans in São Paulo, Brazil to audiences worldwide on June 17th. Shaheer Sheikh and Hiba Nawab starrer Woh Toh Hai Albela, that currently airs on Star Bharat, received a lot of love from audiences especially for exploring a unique pairing. But it seems that the couple have failed to garner TRPs and now reports claim that the show is all set to go off air. Being the official remake of the Tamil show, Eeramana Rojave, currently this Hindi serial has completed over 350 episodes.

We hear that the channel Star Bharat has decided to axe Woh Toh Hai Albela after the show has been garnering low TRPs. Although the lead couple received a lot of appreciation when they showcased them falling in love, the several plot twists and turns that the makers have introduced lately seems to have not been received well by the audience. If these reports are to be believed, the final day of the shoot will be this month and the show is expected to go off air by mid-July. Although neither the producers nor the actors of the serial have opened about this decision.

As for the show, it primarily focuses on the post marital tribulations of Kanha and Sayuri who are caught together in a forced relationship after the demise of Sayuri’s fiancé and Kanha’s best friend and brother Chiranjeev and Chiru. The show currently focuses on the new vamp Chaman Bahar essayed by Priyamvada Kant, who is obsessed with Kanha aka Shaheer Sheikh. Currently, the Choudhary family is trying ways to get back their property from Priyamvada who has deceitfully forged papers to acquire their mansion and live a wealthy lifestyle. The family has been attempting to woo her and get her sign the papers of retrieve their properties and wealth.

Woh Toh Hai Albela airs on Star Bharat from Monday to Friday at 9 pm and is also available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has garnered immense anticipation and is considered one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. Fans and audiences are eagerly looking forward to witnessing Shah Rukh Khan's performance in this film, which has generated significant buzz and excitement. Joining him on screen will be Dangal fame Sanya Malhotra. The actress shared that it was her long-awaited desire to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan. While she had been aware of it previously, what matters most to her now is that she can openly discuss her involvement in Shah Rukh Khan's film, Jawan. Are you sure this information is right?' I was so happy because this was right before Kathal was released and I was giving interviews and I was asked this question frequently. And I just didn't know how to not look stupid while answering those questions. But luckily, they announced it right before Kathal.”

Directed by Atlee Kumar and also starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan was earlier supposed to release in June this year. But, earlier this month, the makers of the Red Chillies production postponed the film to September 7 as they needed more time to work on the VFX of the film.

Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor is back with the third season of his political drama City of Dreams on Disney+ Hotstar. The new season, which started streaming on the platform from May 26, has continued the good work of the previous two seasons. And it is now learnt that the third season has become the most watched season of the show after just five days of its release. Disney+ Hotstar has also shared the news on their official social media pages.

The show stars Priya Bapat, Atul Kulkarni, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Eijaz Khan, Sushant Singh, Rannvijay Singha, among others. The story is basically about the power struggle between Poornima Gaikwad (Bapat), the acting Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and her father Ameya Rao Gaikwad (Kulkarni), a veteran politician. The series shows how the power feud in a single family has a negative effect on the state.

City of Dreams sees Pilgaonkar playing the former Chief Minister of the state while Khan essays the role of a tough cop, who is on Poornima’s side. Siddharth Chandekar played Poornima’s brother and Ameya Rao Gaikwad’s son, who gets killed in the first season.

Aamir Khan then complained in a lighter vein, "Aapne mujhe show pe nahin bulaya. Yeh galat baat hai!" He continued, "Isse pehle ki yeh puche, main hi bol deta hoon. Kapil se ek kadam aage hoon main!"

She adds, “There is a lot of misconception about what a hit means and I think people should pay attention to this before passing judgement if a film is profitable. Following the release of Farzi on Prime Video India, Shahid Kapoor is set for another direct-to-digital release. Titled Bloody Daddy, which is set to premiere on JioCinema on June 9, the film is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This marks their first collaboration on screen. Zafar says that they are hoping that the film gets bigger and is designed in a way to take it forward.

“We are going with that gut and we are hoping that this becomes bigger. It’s designed in a way that it can be taken forward. And let’s see, what destiny holds for us from there,” the filmmaker told PTI. The filmmaker also said that the relatability of the content is the success parameter these days rather than box office numbers. “The relatability right now has become the box office. It’s not numbers anymore,” he added.

Zafar wanted to go grittier in terms of storytelling. He said, “Shahid and I had this continuous battle. I was telling him, ‘Let’s open up a bit more’ and he used to say, ‘Ali, I’m not that commercial. I completely respected that fact because what it made me do is something which is new.”

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has signed with the international agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) in all areas globally. The news was reported by Deadline. The agency is home to Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, and Jake Gyllenhaal among others. In 2021, Alia Bhatt signed with the same agency.

The report states that Ranveer Singh has a brand value of $181.7 million. He is also a brand ambassador for many major brands including the NBA (appearing in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in 2022 and 2023), Adidas, PepsiCo, and Abu Dabhi’s Yas Island.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Cirkus. The actor will now star in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated for July 28, 2023 release.
