T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films’ upcoming drama SRI is all set to release on 15 September this year. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar, the film is the biopic of the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The film marks south actress Jyotika’s return to Bollywood after a long hiatus. Sharing more about the Tushar Hiranandani directorial venture, an official statement from the makers said, “Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit, pictured by Pratham Mehta, SRI is a biopic of an industrialist Srikanth Bolla, who didn’t let his visual impairment come in the way of his vision and founded Bollant Industries.” Speaking about his excitement to back SRI, Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series, had earlier said, “Srikanth Bolla’s story testifies the very proverb of acing against the odds. Having faced so many challenges since birth, yet not letting anything hamper his dreams - his journey is truly inspirational. And it's indeed a privilege to be associated with a person like him. The personality of this character is such that only an actor of a calibre like Rajkummar Rao can justify it and we are happy to have such a fine actor on board. After Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu, Akshay Kumar’s fifth movie Selfiee has failed at the box office in a row. As many have spoken about the actor’s failure at the box office, veteran film exhibitor and producer Manoj Desai of Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir fame has said that he had to discontinue the movie after two days due to lack of demand. Speaking to Filmi Fever, Desai said, “Selfiee toh udd gayi pehle do-teen din mein. Aap pehle choosy they. Aapki sab filmein dekh dekh ke itni khushi hoti thi. Bahut dukh ho raha hai mujhe. Public gaali deke jaati hai mujhe Selfiee ki wajah se. The dashing and talented director Abhinay Deo is on a roll currently. His web series, Brown, starring Karisma Kapoor and backed by Zee Studios, has emerged as the only Indian show to be part of Berlin Market Selects 2023, which was held during the 73rd annual Berlin International Film Festival. Currently in London, the filmmaker exclusively spoke to Bollywood Hungama about this honour and a lot more. Except for Doosra, all your projects till now, be it Game (2011), Delhi Belly (2011), the TV show ‘24’ (2013), Force 2 (2016), Blackmail (2018) and Brown have had English titles. Is this intentional? Not at all. I actually never thought about this (laughs)! But it was just the kind of scripts that I chose. In ‘24’, I could not change the title as it was the adaptation of an international series of the same name. And what made you title the show Brown? Is it because the lead protagonist is named Rita Brown? Or is there any other reason? It is primarily the character’s name. But yes, the series talks about the different shades that a human being has. It’s not just a thriller or a murder mystery. It makes an in-depth analysis of how people are. They are neither white nor black. While that was one of the thoughts, the show was named Brown only because of the lead character. Was it difficult or easy to get Karisma Kapoor on board? The kind of role that we had, the actor had to be somebody who is of a certain age, who is a fine actor and who is not a conventional choice. All her life, Karisma has done very glamorous roles. In her prime, she played different characters but they were all glamorous. So it was a great idea to strip the glamour off and make her into something so real as a character. Initially, yes, it was difficult to convince her. She was contemplating whether Brown is the right project for her. But once we sat down and talked about the character and my expectations, it was a no-brainer for her. Brown is entirely set in Kolkata. Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani (2012) has set a benchmark as it showed the City of Joy like never before. Did it play in your mind that you have to ensure that you show Kolkata in a way that it stands out from Kahaani or the rest of the thrillers set in Kolkata? No, it wasn’t in my mind. Kahaani was a fantastic film and I don’t approach films that way. I consider what the script and the characters demand and how the city needs to play an important role. In Brown, there’s a reason why it’s set in Kolkata. It is a rare city which is a metro and yet, behaves like a small town in many ways. At the same time, it encompasses different cultures. Bengalis, Marwaris, Biharis, Anglo-Indians etc co-exist in Kolkata. There are a lot of varied cultures and you can see their impact on the city. That’s what interested me to go with Kolkata. It had nothing to do with the way it was shot. I am anyway not a fan of shooting a city by showcasing its tourist attractions. Agar aapko Howrah Bridge dekhna hai toh Incredible India ka ad dekh lo (laughs)! Even in Delhi Belly, we didn’t show India Gate or Qutub Minar. I feel that a city is not its monuments. The city is its people and its underbelly. That’s what I’d rather show and also culturally, what the city stands for. Two locations that stood out for me in Brown were the tram depot where people are shown living in the trams and the scene where we see the informer operating from a very intriguing location… The second place was Tangra (aka Chinatown). The very fact that you mentioned it is a success for us! Earlier, Tangra used to be quite fascinating but now it is a dying part of Kolkata. I wanted that to be an element. Meanwhile, every filmmaker who goes to Kolkata feels obligated to shoot a scene in trams. The tram culture, however, is almost gone. In the next two years, trams will be obsolete. So, what happens to these trams? Interestingly, they are standing in a yard and poor or homeless people have started living in it. So, we decided to focus on that. How important is the Berlinale honour for you? We make films not just for ourselves. We make it for a large section of the audience. And getting accolades from a reputed festival makes you feel that you are heading in the right direction. There’s a commercial side and there’s an aesthetic side to any content. Both being praised is a feat. Brown is not out to the public. So we’ll know shortly how they receive it. But having a pat on the back from the very respected Berlinale is a very big feather in our cap. It makes us feel proud and happy. How many episodes of Brown were screened at Berlinale? We showed two episodes. The show is under production and we were only ready with the first two episodes. When will Brown be released to the public? It is in process and we are at the tail end of the post-production. Shortly, we shall make an announcement in this regard. Several web series end on a cliffhanger. Can we expect that in Brown and are there any plans for Brown’s sequel? Certainly, there is. We would hate to have such great characters created not being used to their maximum potential. So, we have our plans for part 2. Time will tell how it goes. You are about to shoot your next film in London. Could you share details? Not at the moment. It is not even named yet and hence, it’ll be difficult for me to share. Will the title be in English? Let’s hope not (laughs)! On a serious note, it’s a drama thriller and I am hoping that the audience will find it interesting. And our journey also involves the same. I always try to learn something or the other. But I also feel that I have made some mistakes. I have done such films, which have not been loved by the audience. But then again, this is my age to make mistakes.” She further explained, “Also, I feel that it’s important to fall down to get up every time. And I have had my own set of setbacks. Moreover, I have learned that making mistakes is a part of the journey and I think I have to make allowance for that.” Coming to the professional front, Sara was last seen in Anand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, which was released on Disney+ Hotstar. The film received a mixed response. She has a bunch of projects in her kitty, including Gaslight, Ae Watan Mere Watan, and Metro In Dino. Manoj Bajpayee has carved a niche for himself in Hindi cinema and is known as one of the finest artistes of his time. He has also been someone who has maintained a balance between mainstream commercial cinema and off-beat flicks. If one looks back at his filmography of the last decade or so, one would notice that he has worked mostly with new or relatively new or unestablished filmmakers. During the recently concluded Arth Culture Fest in New Delhi, Bajpayee shared the reason for being away from well-known filmmakers. “It’s been years since I stopped working with famous directors. I would try and work with new voices, who were telling stories in new ways. This is how I ended up doing films like Budhia Singh, Gangs of Wasseypur, Missing, Special 26, Gali Guleyan, Rukh, Bhosle, and now Joram and Gulmohar.” Sharing the reason for the same, the actor added, “The reason I want to work with new directors is that these people are young, they have new ideas. Their expectations from their actors are completely different. As an actor, I always want to keep evolving, and this bothers me. Elaborating further, Bajpayee said, “If I keep working with older filmmakers, I won’t evolve. These new directors have grown up on world cinema. They haven’t grown up watching only Hindi films. They watch Malayalam films, they watch Tamil films, they watch Telugu films, they watch European films, American films. This is good for me, because they challenge me, they bother me, they don’t let me sleep. They want me to distance myself from what I’ve done in the past.” Bajpayee will next be seen in the film Gulmohar, which will release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 3. After literally waiting for years, the official announcement of the third film in the Hera Pheri franchise happened last month. The film will see the return of the famous trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the roles of the iconic characters Raju, Ghanshyam aka Shyam and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte respectively. Shetty has penned a long note expressing his happiness on the green signal for the third film in the series, which is called Hera Pheri 4. In a LinkedIn blog post, the actor wrote, “So Hera Pheri 3 is finally happening! Look forward to being back on set with Pareshji and Akki (Akshay). Like all good things, this one took some time, but it’s a relief to finally have an answer to this question! Films are such a huge part of our culture, and yet, not many understand what goes into making a film. Apart from creative challenges, the business model and needs of the movie business make it as challenging as any other.” While elaborating on the process of making a film, Shetty added, “But let's just say having a good script, a set of actors and a director is literally just the start point. There’s the financing of a movie. It’s usually studios or production houses, which invest their own capital. Their teams assess the viability of a project before deciding on the budget.” Speaking about his own understanding of the complex process of making films, Shetty concluded saying, “33 years and 125 films later I don’t have it all figured out, but I will keep getting better at it.” Titled, Hera Pheri, the first film released in 2000 and it was directed by Priyadarshan. The sequel, titled Phir Hera Pheri, was helmed by the late Neeraj Vora and it released in 2006. Hera Pheri 4 will be directed by Farhad Samji. The much-talked-about Netflix docu-series The Romantics, which is a tribute to the legacy of Yash Chopra & YRF and their cultural impact on India and Indians for the past 50 years, was released on Feb 14 to unanimous acclaim and love. The national over-pouring of love for Yash Chopra and YRF was evident as The Romantics became the Number 1 trending title on Netflix within 48 hours of its drop, a rare feat for a documentary! The docu-series pays homage to Sridevi, the iconic Yash Raj Films heroine who made the entire country fall in love with her in the cult Yash Chopra romantic blockbuster - Chandni! Speaking of the same, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar lauded the late actress. The late Yash Chopra is seen revealing why he wanted to make a pristine love story for audiences. It didn’t matter to her who Yash Chopra is, who has made such great films, it was just the money.” Chandni’s success was a watershed moment for Yash Chopra & YRF’s destiny and Sridevi’s brilliance in Chandni has inspired the leading ladies of our times to follow in her footsteps to deliver path-breaking performances on screen. Sobhita Dhulipala, who is one of the self-made stars in Bollywood, recently has been busy promoting the web series The Night Manager. The actress, who has been a part of some prestigious projects like Ponniyin Selvan, opened up about the kind of transition and culture-shock she experienced as a teenager who shifted from Vizag to Mumbai. Recalling her initial days of modelling and giving auditions for TVCs (Television Commercials), Sobhita revealed that she was rejected as a background model for the skin and haircare brand L’Oréal and then later, being signed on as one of their brand ambassadors. During her interview with Mashable India, Sobhita Dhulipala discussed her journey, starting from her early modelling days to becoming an actress. In the same, she opened up about how she faced several rejections because she didn’t fit the conventional standards of beauty. She said, “I never got even one because they told me I was not pretty or appealing”. The actress went on to add that during her college days, she did not believe that she was good-looking because she felt out-of-place in terms of fashion and style. So when she got rejected from modelling assignments, she would often believe it to be true because she was not confident about her looks. She added, " I was like, ‘Yes, obviously,' bachpan ka woh trauma tha, woh sach bol raha hai (because of my childhood trauma, I believed that they were saying the truth).” Sobhita went on to recall about her L’Oréal experience saying, “Mujhe voh bhi nahi mila (I did not even get that).” She continued, “Background mein bhi reject kia tha (They rejected me as a background model also).” She concluded the experience, “I was with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, passing shampoos, doing the ad, and I just felt it’s nice to be here,” she said. Last week, Bollywood Hungama reported that there could be a change in the release date of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The makers of the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer were contemplating releasing the film on Tuesday, March 7, instead of Wednesday, March 8. The thought emerged as the makers thought that it’ll be wise to take advantage of the Holi holiday in several states on March 7. However, we have not learnt that the prepone plans have been dropped. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There is no change in the plan. Saiyami Kher will soon be seen in R Balki’s Ghoomer, an emotional and inspiring sports drama. Saiyami plays the role of a para-athlete, a cricket prodigy. Although she grew up playing cricket, this role was especially challenging since she had the role of a para-athlete, something she had to work hard to get into character. Siayami says, “I play the role of a left-handed bowler in Ghoomer and, for me, in real life, I am a right-handed player. I could never actually step into the shoes of a real-life para-athlete, but even the small hurdles I had to overcome being an athlete myself, reminded me of things we take for granted. Preparing and filming for Ghoomer opened my eyes in a way that I never thought would happen to go into it. It was a physically and emotionally challenging time, but my struggles were minuscule when compared to those heroes who make our country proud by participating in so many sports as para-athletes”. Ghoomer, which is expected to release in 2023 is a movie about a sports prodigy and also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Abhishek plays her coach and Angad Bedi plays her love interest in the movie. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has seen unprecedented collections at the box office for a Hindi film. It's broken several records and has surpassed Rs. 1020 crore at the worldwide box office. Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan thinks it is a perfect payback for what the Khan family went through for the past two years. In a recent interview with DNA, Arbaaz Khan said, "And it was perfectly timed. More so for Shah Rukh, for all that he and his family have gone through last two years, I think this was a payback for the poor fellow. It was a very deserving, entertaining film and Shah Rukh was best in it." Filmmaker Karan Johar is back to work. The director will begin the last schedule of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He is set to shoot a massive song with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and has hinted that he is paying homage to his favourite filmmaker of all time. Sharing a video of his team on a flight flying to an unknown location, Karan Johar wrote on Instagram, “Shooting the last schedule of our film #rockyaurranikipremkahani…a film i have directed after 7 years…shooting a song which is a homage to my favourite filmmaker of all times… won’t say any more…” Over a month ago, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Karan Johar will shoot the song as a tribute to his mentor Yash Chopra. For the romantic track, Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi in Chandni are the reference points. In 2021, Bollywood Hungama was the first to reveal the title and cast of the upcoming family-centric movie. Starring Gully Boy pair Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead, the film's cast also includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Jaya, who has worked with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho, plays Ranveer's grandmother whereas Dharmendra and Shabana play Alia's grandparents. Akshay Kumar recently released his two-hero film, Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi. After the release of the film, the actor is all set to fly to the USA for a five-city show. Titled ‘The Entertainers’, it will be fronted by Akshay Kumar and also comprises Nora Fatehi, Disha Patani, Sonam Bajwa, Stebin Ben, Jasleen Royal, Mouni Roy, Aparshakti Khurana and Zahrah Khan. Unfortunately, one of the shows of ‘The Entertainers’ has been cancelled. As per a statement released by the promoter of the show, Amit Jaitly, the show that was scheduled at Cure Insurance Arena, Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday, March 4 will not take place. Amit Jaitly attributed the cancellation to the 'slow sale of tickets'. He added that the show wasn’t appropriately marketed and that they had 'less than stellar support for marketing from the Tour organizer'. The statement ended with an assurance that those who had booked tickets will be fully refunded. However, the rest of the four shows of 'The Entertainers' will take place as scheduled. Akshay Kumar and the rest of the actors will commence the tour with a performance on Saturday, March 3 in Duluth, Georgia. This will be followed by shows in Allen, Texas on Wednesday, March 8, Kissimmee, Florida on Saturday, March 11 and Oakland, California on Sunday, March 12. The cheapest ticket for ‘The Entertainers’ is available for $59, as per the information given on a booking website. The booking website shows that the tickets are fast filling for the show in Oakland on March 12. As per a report, Nora Fatehi already reached the USA yesterday, on February 26. Akshay Kumar and the rest of the actors, meanwhile, will land in the USA on Tuesday, February 28. A grand rehearsal has taken place in Mumbai. Akshay is expected to dance to his popular tracks and the remix versions of some of his old songs, as per this report. Following the release of the third single from his upcoming movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir Kapoor is on promotional roll. After Chandigarh, he reached Kolkata for a promotional event on Saturday. At the event, the actor addressed the rumours about him doing the Sourav Ganguly biopic. The actor told media, "I think dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India, around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai (I have not been offered this film). I think the makers of Luv films are still writing the script." Sourav Ganguly and Ranbir Kapoor were clicked at Eden Gardens while playing a game of cricket. They wore customised Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar t-shirts as they shared several laighs and conversation. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Earlier this week, yet another film of Akshay Kumar hit the theatres. Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, is an action comedy that is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License. While the trailer and the remake of the song, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ from the film was quite well-received, the film failed to make a mark among the audiences. In a recent interview, the actor, who insisted on giving up his Canadian citizenship for Indian citizenship, also opened up about his recent failures at the box office. The superstar also requested everyone to not blame the audience, further taking up the blame on himself about his films not working. In his interview with Aaj Tak, Akshay Kumar opened up about the performance of his recent theatrical releases, and said, "It is a great alarm, aapki film nahi chal rahi to galti aapki hai (If your films are not working, it is your fault). When your films flop in a row, it is an alarm for you that it is time for you to change. Mai koshish kar raha hun, wahi kar sakta hoon (I am trying to change, that is all I can do).” He continued, “Do not blame the audience or anyone else. It is my fault, 100%. Aapki film na chalna is not because of audience. It is because of what you selected. Maybe you have not given the right ingredients in the film.” Furthermore, the actor also opened up about experiencing a much worse fate in terms of films in the past, wherein he had given 16 consecutive flops. "This is not happening with me for the first time. There was a time when I had eight films in a row that did not work. Now, I have had three-four films in a row that did not work. The thing is that it happens due to your own fault, film ka na chalna (a film not working). The audience has changed, you need to change, you need to dismantle yourself,” he maintained. Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan began his career with a negative character in Daraar. One would question why the brother of one of India's biggest superstar, Salman Khan, and the son of a renowned screenwriter (Salim Khan), would start his career with the role of a villain. Arbaaz stated that there weren't many opportunities for him, so he wanted to get started in show business as soon as possible. Arbaaz Khan told IANS, “The opportunities were very less and there were only a few directors with whom an actor would have wanted to work then. Honestly, I was just waiting to start work.” The actor further said, “At the end of the day, I too had responsibilities, my father had such a terrific body of work, my brother (Salman Khan) was already a big star by then.” “So, it was important for me to take the plunge. In showbiz, you expect your break at the age of 21 or 22 but, once you're in your mid 20s and you haven't started working, there's pressure on you to work, earn and deliver. Suniel Shetty claimed that he first met his son-in-law KL Rahul in 2019 at an airport, where he discovered that they both hail from Mangalore.. Later, Mana came to me and said that Athiya and Rahul [were on] talking terms.” “I was surprised that Athiya had not mentioned it to me. Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit recently spoke about how tough it is to be a spouse of a doctor on her husband Dr. Shriram Nene’s YouTube channel. She shared how her marriage opened a complete different and unexplored aspects in her life. I know in the hearts of hearts, you are a very good person. In a marriage, it is important to know your partner,” said the actress. Sharing her thoughts on her beautiful partnership with her husband, she said, “We always had that partnership where we looked after each other and made sure the kids were always looked after and loved. There are times when it is difficult but there are times when we know whatever we are doing in life is for the good and is something we both want.” The actor revealed that she was able to experience many aspects of life after marriage. She said, “After I got married, I lived my life because we went out, we travelled a lot and we did a lot of adventure sports which I never did earlier. It just enriched my life and made me a better person. It also gave me a flight of fancy sometimes.” Sriram Nene also praised Madhuri for being a "supporting spouse" during their marriage. “Having a supportive spouse like this, who loves you and cares about you regardless of what happens, is critical to the journey. Javed Akhtar recently went to a festival in Lahore to honour the author Faiz Ahmed Faiz, where he learned that Indians believe all Pakistanis to be terrorists. In a sharp response, Javed stated that the terrorists of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks continue to roam freely in Pakistan. Since then, he has been at the centre of the debate; while Indian celebrities and politicians are applauding him for the statement, Pakistani celebrities like Ali Zafar have criticised him. Javed reiterated his remarks from the event while speaking at an ABP event. He said, “It became too big, it feels embarrassing, feel like I should not go (for such events). Yaha aya to laga pata nahi third World War jeet ke aya hoon. The people and the media have so many reactions. I was embarrrased aisa kya keh diya? Itni baat to kehni padegi, chup rahein kya?” He further added, “I got to know that people are abusing me there. They are asking, ‘Why was he given visa?’ Is tarah ki baatein, jo thodisi sensitive aur controversial ho… jis mulk mein paida hue, jisme rehte hain aur jisme marenge waha karte rehte hai toh do din wahaa gaye the, wahaan kya darna? Jab yaha nahi darte toh wahaan kya darenge?” He was questioned about how he mustered the confidence to say these things in front of a Pakistani audience. He replied, “I’m sure the youth of Pakistan will embrace you with open arms. I’ll tell you one thing — No country is a monolith. What happens is that we start believing that the policies of their government and establishment is what the country is about. But that’s not true.” He further added, “The fact is that it is very unfortunate that we are unaware that there is a huge segment in Pakistan that wants to have a good relation with India and that is totally understandable, not because they are saints, but because they are seeing a country next door jahaan itna development hai, itni industries hai, jahaan par corportate world itna develop kar gaya, jahaan culture itna hai, jahaan music aur films itni peak pe hai. So, an average citizen of that country would obviously be curious and would want to come here and see and if given an opportunity of a job or a presentation, he’ll run to do it and it totally understandable.” The Faiz Festival was a three-day event, which commenced on February 17 and ended on February 19. Javed believed that it was unfair to expect Indians to disregard the fact that the attackers were living freely in Pakistan after having witnessed the horrors of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. The much-awaited romcom, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, is less than two weeks away from its release and there's considerable excitement among the audiences. The trailer and songs of this Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer have worked well and trade expects Luv Ranjan’s directorial to have a huge opening at the box office. And if sources are to be believed, the makers are thinking of releasing it sooner than expected. A source said, "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 8. But the producers are toying with the idea of preponing it and releasing it a day earlier, on Tuesday, March 7.” The source continued, "The second day of Holi falls on March 7. There has been confusion over this aspect. In many places, the Holi holiday will be on March 7. To take advantage of it, the makers felt that it was wise to come on March 7 since that's when it'll get maximum footfalls." The source, however, also added, “A decision will be taken in a few days. If Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar gets ready in time, it’ll be out on Tuesday, March 7. Or else, it’ll arrive in cinemas on March 8, as scheduled.” If Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar releases on March 7, it will enjoy an extended six-day weekend, which is very unusual as filmmakers prefer releasing the day on Thursday or at the most on Wednesday, if not on Friday, to take advantage of a festive holiday. Last year, the Diwali releases - Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra-Rakul Preet Singh starrer Thank God - also got a release on Tuesday, October 25, as that was the day of the post-Diwali holiday. Actor-director Deepak Tijori gave stellar performances in the blockbuster film Aashiqui. The actor has also worked with top Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Aamir Khan in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. In a recent interview when Deepak shared his views on the superstars Shah Rukh and Aamir. In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Deepak was asked who was a better co-star between Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan is, he said, “Actually both were the same because you know both had this unique quality. I had experiences with both of them in regards to similar ways. They are meticulous actors whereas I am a spontaneous guy, so I don’t believe in lot of rehearsals and same I had with Shah (Shah Rukh Khan) and I had with Aamir (Aamir Khan).” To explain his point, he cited an example from the time when he had shot with Shah Rukh Khan for the film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. He said, “(Shah Rukh told Deepak) Deepak let’s do the reading once again or let’s do the scene again. So, I was like boss I’ll do the reading, you do the scene. So, I will just go for the take.” Explaining the kinds of actors Shah Rukh and Aamir were, he said, “There are two kinds of actors. There are actors who get better and better with every take because it is like performing and getting it better; crafting the whole thing and getting it better. So, Aamir and Shah, both are very good in those things.” On the work front, Tijori received fame after Mahesh Bhatt casted him in Aashiqui in 1990. He had produced the 1993 murder mystery Pehla Nasha, which was directed by Gowariker. The movie struggled at the box office after receiving negative reviews upon release. Deepak has contributed to a number of movies, including Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. His will soon feature in Tipppsy and Ittar. As for Shah Rukh Khan, he was recently seen in the blockbuster film Pathaan starring alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. He will be next seen in Jawan and Dunki this year. Moreover, his casting will add to the brand value. Besides being an actor, he also donned the hat of a director for a bunch of projects. For the unversed, he made his directorial debut with the 2003’s release Oops. In a fun rapid-fire round with Bollywood Hungama, the actor-turned-director briefly spoke about Oops. It all happened when we asked the 61-year-old actor - if Oops was released today do you think it would have done better? Interestingly, despite it being the third film in the franchise, it is titled Hera Pheri 4. There is a lot of curiosity among the fans to know what the next instalment of the series has in store. It is now learnt that this time, the Hera Pheri trio of Raju, Shyam and Babu bhaiya, played by Akshay, Shetty and Rawal, would travel internationally. Rawal revealed this in a conversation with Mid-Day along with the shooting schedule of the film. “We’ll begin shooting in three months,” he told the publication. “It will be a (long) schedule in Mumbai. The movie will also be shot in international locations like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Los Angeles, as Babu bhaiya, Raju and Shyam go abroad. They’ll do hera pheri globally.” Rawal was happy to meet his co-stars for the promo shoot recently. “Meeting them felt like ghar wapsi. It’s always a joy shooting with Akshay and Suniel. They are talented actors who are not insecure about their work. We have mutual respect. Our off-screen camaraderie reflects in our on-screen chemistry,” he further told the publication. Earlier, there were reports about Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay in the third part of Hera Pheri. Reacting on this, Rawal revealed, “As far as I know, initially, both Kartik and Akshay were to do the film, but it didn’t work out. I don’t know what happened.” The first film in the series, titled Hera Pheri, had released in 2000 and it became a cult classic. It was directed by Priyadarshan. But Neeraj Vora took onto the director’s chair for Phir Hera Pheri, which released in 2006. Hera Pheri 4 will be helmed by Farhad Samji. Ali Zafar, a Pakistani actor and singer, criticised Javed Akhtar for his remarks about the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks at the Faiz Festival in Lahore last week. Ali had previously taken to social media to share his happiness over singing in front of Akhtar recently. He talked about his love and loyalty for his country in an Instagram story. He also wrote about the impact that Akhtar's insensitive and uncalled for statements can have on so many people's feelings. He took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Guys, I love you all and truly value your praise and criticism equally. But I always request one thing – verify facts before reaching any conclusion or judgement. I was not present at the Faiz Mela nor aware of what was said until the next day when I saw it on social media.” He added, “I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. We all know how much Pakistan has suffered and continue to suffer at the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and uncalled for remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people.” At a celebration thrown for Akhtar, Ali had sung, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ from 1942: A Love Story in front of Akhtar. Ayushmann Khurrana has carved a niche for himself in mainstream Hindi cinema with his unusually funny and quirky dramas over the years, including his spectacular debut in the form of Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor in 2012. Similarly, his younger brother Aparshakti Khurana has also succeeded in displaying his talent in films and web-series in the last few years. Although both the siblings are different in terms of their acting skills, they do share a common penchant for humour. Now, the two are all set to display their comic skills as the hosts of this year’s Zee Cine Awards, which will be taking place on February 26 in Mumbai. Ayushmann was recently announced as the host of the show. Now, the news about his brother joining him is just out. Speaking about sharing the stage with his brother, Aparkshakti said in a statement, “It’s always great to work with him. We had previously hosted another show together and that was a riot. When it comes to work, we are aware that it’s a professional commitment and it’s not often we come together. But given our personal background, it definitely adds a layer of charm and fun to the show and I hope we can bring that to the stage. At the end of the day the idea is to make the evening memorable and both of us are going to do our best on that.” Coming to the work front, Aparshakti had two theatrical films last year in the form of Dhoka: Round D Corner and Bhediya with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. He is also gearing up for Atul Sabharwal’s thriller film Berlin, which also stars Ishwak Singh and Rahul Bose. Ayushmann, on the other hand, had three theatrical releases last year – Anek, Doctor G and An Action Hero. His next is the keenly-awaited Dream Girl 2. Readers may be aware that for the past few days, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is in news after his ‘former’ wife Aaliya Siddiqui threw major allegations against his family, including that of house arrest and as well as forcing her and their children to only use selected facilities within their residence. Along with her complaint, she had also alleged that Siddiqui and his family are harassing her for dowry and had moved the court regarding the same. However, as per recent reports, the Mumbai court has dismissed her pleas after their divorce documents were presented. In recent reports, lawyers Adnan Shaikh and Drishti Khurana had alleged that the couple are not married anymore. Presenting evidence to support their argument, the lawyers clarified in their statement that they produced divorce documents of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya Siddiqui aka Zainab. Following this, the court dismissed two pleas. In their statement, the lawyers also alleged how the marriage documents were presented to the court but their divorce documents were concealed. Talking about Aaliya Siddiqui, after she claimed that she and her kids were being tortured by Nawaz’s parents in their house, she had taken to social media to post videos of how there were security guards in her residence. In the video, Aaliya aka Zainab had shared how these guards refused her access to basic places like bathroom and toilet as she and her kids, were allegedly, allowed to use only the living room. As for the case, Aaliya had registered the case at Versova police station against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family by filing an FIR against them under sections 498A, 509, and others of IPC on the grounds of dowry harassment and protection of women’s rights. This came after Aaliya was allegedly accused of trespassing by Siddqui’s family. Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were one of the most beloved couples of the industry and her demise definitely left the entire Kapoor family in shock. Boney, who often recalls his memories with her, posts about it on social media and today on her fifth death anniversary, the filmmaker took to Instagram to share two video clips from the India Today Woman Summit, which had Sridevi as the Chief Guest. In the video clip, Boney Kapoor is seen in the audience and he was handed over the mic to talk about the Indian actress. During the same, he recalled his first meeting with her. In the video, Boney Kapoor recalled how it was love at first sight for him when he saw her in one of the Tamil films. "It happened the first time I saw her on screen, this was probably in the late 70s, when I saw one of her Tamil films. I said to myself that this is someone I would want to have in my film. We were planning to make a Rishi Kapoor film those days. I had bought the rights for a film.” In the same video, he also added that at that time he was working on Rishi Kapoor film. Although Rishi had not read the script before speaking to the Kapoor actor, Boney took off to Chennai to meet Sridevi in a bid to sign her as the leading lady. However, he added disappointingly that he couldn’t meet her then because she was in Singapore shooting for one of her films, adding, “She was always on my mind.” Later, he went on to talk about how he loved her Hindi film Solva Sawan (a Hindi remake of her Tamil film 16 Vayanthinile) and how it had an impact on him. Boney further added that he was waiting for the right opportunity which he got with Mr. India. "I went up to her set, met her. When I met her, it was almost like a dream come true. You know, she is an introvert and doesn't communicate very easily with strangers, and I was a stranger at that point of time. The few words that she spoke in broken Hindi and broken English, they touched me and moved me. I got more curious to know her. As it was a practice those days, that a mother would decide on commercial issues and other aspects." But Boney continued, “Her mother quoted a figure. She told me that Sridevi will charge Rs. 10 lacs which was probably her way of negotiating. But I went ahead and said, ‘no I will pay her Rs. 11 lacs. Her mother probably thought I was a crazy producer from Mumbai who actually offered her more than what she asked for. Readers would recall that Pathaan featured Tiger aka Salman Khan in an extended cameo and the moment was loved the audiences. The dialogues in the film also indicated that Pathaan will be joining Tiger briefly on the latter’s next mission. Although the makers had hinted on the possibility of this much earlier, even prior to the release of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, now it has not only been confirmed but the superstar has even allotted his dates for the spy actioner Tiger 3 that will once again see Khan reuniting with Zoya aka Katrina Kaif. The success of Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) had promoted the makers to take the franchise of the spy-action drama ahead and it will once again have Salman Khan as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya. And now as per our trade source, it has been confirmed that the scenes of Shah Rukh Khan in Tiger 3 will be shot in summer. The trade source says, “Watch out for Pathaan’s entry in Tiger 3! As the super-spies start crossing over in each other’s films, which are part of the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe, expect twists and surprises that deliver outstanding entertainment value to audiences in theatres!” The source added, “Shah Rukh will shoot for Tiger 3 by end-April and the shoot is expected to be in Mumbai. Details of this shoot is being kept completely under wraps but expect fireworks when the two super spies meet again in Tiger 3. Salman told SRK in Pathaan that he was going on an important mission so Pathaan will meet Tiger during this mission.” As for the film, Tiger 3 will also feature Emraan Hashmi, who will be a part of the franchise for the first time. The actor will be seen as the antagonist in the film which is slated to release in November 2023.
