Babil Khan, son of the late Irrfan Khan, is making his debut with the Netflix film Qala. It is generally believed that star kids have it easy when it comes to getting the first break. But Babil says that that wasn’t the case with him since he has had to struggle like any other newcomer.

In a chat with Hindustan Times, Babil said, “I don’t think my mother (producer Sutapa Sikdar) can ever pick up the phone and ask for a favour. I have to go give auditions nahi to aisi maar padegi ghar pe (else I would get a thrashing at home). That is our sanskaar. There is no possibility of breaking that. Even now, I am giving auditions and I get rejected a lot. Even today, if there is an audition I really want to crack and I mess it up, she will be so angry at me. But she will never pick up the phone and say, ‘kara do isko’. That is against our values. I think people also understand that.”

Directed by Anvita Dutt, Qala also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee. The film is based in the film industry of the 1940s.

Babil knows the kind of expectations people have for him because of him being the son of the great Irrfan Khan. “I am always comparing myself to the legacy…you know, bhaar hai,” he added. “I am a person who wants to give the best when I am doing something. We shot this (Qala) two years ago. I have grown as an actor a lot. So, I always wonder ‘I wish I would have done this or that’. But I also believe that whatever art you make has its own journey and you can’t bring your own ego into it.”

Looking back at his father’s way of working, Babil said, “Baba’s entire work was always about the connect with people. He didn’t care about awards, or who was producing or directing him. He just knew he had to play this character and he would draw that from the people. That has come into me as well.”

Qala will stream on Netflix from 2nd December.

Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, who was previously married to Malaika Arora, is currently dating Giorgia Andriani. The duo has been in a steady relationship for a while now. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Giorgia briefly talked about her relationship with Arbaaz while speaking her mind on Khan’s former wife Malaika Arora.

It all happened when we asked if she has met Malaika. In her quick response, Giorgia said, “I've met her many times.” Elaborating on the same, she added, “I really like her and I appreciate her journey a lot. She also started from zero basically, she was a model so then slowly she reached where she has reached and Kudos to her. For me, she's definitely somebody that I do admire.”

For the unversed, Arbaaz and Malaika were married for 18 years before parting ways. While Malaika started dating Arjun Kapoor, Arbaaz’s relationship with Georgia started making headlines after his divorce.

During the same interview, Giorgia also opened up on the age difference between her and Arbaaz, which is nearly 22 years. “If for me, if the person is like 100 years old, I will still talk to them if they are like fun, I would still talk to them. Or if the person is younger than me for that matter. It’s not that I'm like, no, you’re younger than me, so I won’t talk to you. Age for me is really just a number,” said the Italian model.

Coming to their respective professional front, Giorgia is yet to leave a mark in Bollywood while Arbaaz was last seen in a web series, titled Tanaav.

Walt Disney’s family adventure Strange World has finally graced big screens and just like any other Disney animated film, this one also teaches us a few lessons in a very subtle way. Directed by Don Hall, the action-packed comedy adventure Strange World introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob Splat, a three-legged dog Legend and a slew of other ravenous creatures. Strange World is co-directed by Qui Nguyen who also penned the screenplay.

As the film navigates through relationships between fathers and sons across three generations, it also attempts to talk from the perspective of environment and address the notion of ‘living harmoniously with nature.’ Don previously directed 2016 award-winning film Moana which also had a similar theme related to environmental concerns. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the director shared his core reason behind such choice of features.

“I think environmental concerns to me are – it's just the biggest question that we’re wrestling with in our lives,” Don said. “I just don’t think there’s any bigger question that faces humanity right now. So, it’s very much top of mind. When this movie started, my kids were little, they are a little older now but still that was just – as a parent, it’s very much top of mind like what world are my kids going to inherit.”

“What world did I inherit and what responsibility do I have as a parent to be a good ancestor, not just for my kids but generations to come,” he added. “To me, it’s just the biggest [concern] that we face right now.” As the film touched the topic of environmental concerns, it also subtly addressed the representation of LGBTQ+ while telling a generational story.

Talking about how important it was to seamlessly yet impactfully weave a forward-queer conversation between Jaeger (Dennis Quaid) and Ethan (Jaboukie Young-White) into the theme of this coming-of-age story, Don shared, “It’s very important to us as filmmakers and to, you know, tell stories with as much diversity and inclusion as possible. Our audience is everybody.”

“They are [the people] we want, to watch these films and we want our stories to be relatable to everybody and we were so thankful to be able to tell the story. And we so much love Ethan and can’t wait to share him with the world.” While Strange World does touch on some mature, progressive topics, it is indeed true to its name with such bizarre, quirky and stunning visuals that is definitely a feast for our eyes.

Speaking of the reason behind such choice of vibrant, trippy colors in the film, co-director Qui Nguyen commented, “Well, I think a big reason was we wanted to make sure that the top world felt different than our stranger world. Down below Avalonia had to have a very unique feel... When you went underground, you lost some of its colors that you’re used to seeing on the top world.”

“Blues, greens... the things that have been signified as beauty, suddenly you had to find a new relationship to color down below,” he added. “So, that’s why the colors were chosen [the way] they were. Also, it gets creative with these incredible color combinations and each environment had its own main color theme which also evolved as you got into the darker depths of the film.”

Produced by Roy Conli, Strange World features a star-studded voice cast of Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher Clade; Dennis Quaid as Jaeger; Jaboukie Young-White as Ethan; Gabrielle Union as Meridian Clade and Lucy Liu as Callisto Mal. For the promotions of her upcoming film, Bhediya, nothing was different. The actress accessorised her monochrome striped co-ord ensemble with an oversized shirt from July Issue's racks. Kriti's striped accents provided a change of pace from the monochromatic outfits she has been sporting at recent occasions. Kriti wore a straight bandeau top with thin straps that was striped in black and white. She topped her top with a full-sleeved, baggy shirt with similar monochromatic striped pattern. The film's producers arranged a special screening of it on Thursday in Mumbai, starring Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan. The red carpet was dazzling with a star-studded lineup that ranged from Janhvi Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam, and Shahid Kapoor to Rajkummar Rao, Zayed Khan, and many more. Giorgia Andriani, who is doing a music video with actor Gurmeet Choudhary, opened up about entering the Bollywood industry. The model turned actress is rumoured to be dating Arbaaz Khan after the latter separated from Malaika Arora. In this exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, she discussed her relationship with the actor-producer and the rumours about their wedding.

Fans of the couple have been wondering about their marriage and in the recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Giorgia Andriani decided to put an end to the rumours. She said, “Like I said we're very good friends. But coming to wedding or marriage, to be honest, it is something that we're not really looking at.” However, accepting the close bond they share, the model turned actress recalled the pandemic time and how lockdown changed their relationship. She added, “The lockdown has made us think. In fact, it has made people either come closer or to drift apart.”

Bollywood actress Kajol has already kick-started the promotions of her upcoming film Salaam Venky. Ever since the makers launched the trailer of the film, the actress was spotted at various locations to promote it. However, during her recent appearance, the actress was seen flaunting her swanky BMW X7 SUV worth Rs 1.8 crore.

Talking about her upcoming film, Salaam Venky, produced by BLIVE Productions and RTAKE Studios, it is directed by Revathy. It is slated to release in theatres on December 9, 2022. The ensemble star cast of the film will also feature Mardaani 2 fame Vishal N. Jethwa, Aahana S Kumra, Rahul Bose and Rajeev Khandelwal.

Talking about Nysa’s IG handle, she maintains a private account. The 19-year-old star kid has finished school in Singapore where she studied at the United World College of South East Asia.

Speaking on her Bollywood debut, Ajay had once told TOI, “My daughter has not mentioned to me (at least yet) that she wishes to join the movies. So, everything else is hypothetical,” in an interview earlier this month.

Elaborating further Devgn added, “She is just a teenager. She hasn’t told Kajol or me what her final career choice would be. As of now, she is studying overseas. If she decides to pursue a career in the film industry, it will be her choice. As parents, we will always support her.”

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Bhediya was released in theatres yesterday through a decent response. But unfortunately for the makers, the film got leaked on the internet on the day of its release itself.  

As per a report by Times Now, the movie, which is directed by Amar Kaushik, got leaked online on various Torrent sites. It will be interesting to see if this has any bearing on the film’s box office performance. As per early estimates, Bhediya has earned in the range of Rs 6 to 7 crore on its opening day yesterday.  

The menace of new releases getting leaked online on the day of their release isn’t new. In fact, just last week, the Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna-starrer Drishyam 2 was also leaked online on its opening day.  

But thankfully for the producers, there wasn’t much damage done as the film went onto become a winner at the box office. It succeeded in reaching the Rs 100 crores mark at the ticket window in India in its first week itself and has also performed well overseas.  

Bhediya is a creature comedy about a man, played by Varun, who turns into a wolf after being bitten by one.

Director Abhishek Pathak’s Hindi version of the Malayalam film Drishyam 2, which stars Ajay Devgn in the lead, is going great guns at the box office and has also received positive reviews. The film is the remake of the Malayalam film of the same name released in 2021 and starred Mohanlal. Similarly, the 2015 Hindi version of Drishyam was the remake of the first Malayalam film in the franchise released in 2013.

In a recent interview, Jeethu Joseph has confirmed the possibility of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and the rest of the cast. However, the film is not even written as of now.

But as soon as Jeethu made the statement, Abhishek Pathak, the director of Drishyam 2, has also confirmed the possibility of the third Hindi Drishyam.

Speaking to E Times, Pathak said, “People are excited, so they are going to make theories on part 3 and 4. But we’re just about to close our first week now. For sure there’s a demand for part 3, and it shall happen, but we are just happy to be crossing the Rs 100 crores number at the moment. Once we have some time off, we will think about what we’re going to do in the next part but as of now we’re just enjoying every bit of feedback that we're getting.”

Drishyam 2 also stars Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Kamlesh Sawant. The film has crossed the Rs 100 crores mark at the Indian box office in its first week itself

Days after giving birth to her first child, Bipasha Basu shared the first family photo featuring her newborn baby girl and husband Karan Singh Grover.

After Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Bollywood couple Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Days after the arrival of their little munchkin, the star couple shared the first post, featuring a glimpse of their daughter, though it covered her face. In the photo, the new parents can be seen adoring Devi. Meanwhile, in the caption, Bipasha shared their “recipe” of making “a sweet angel”.

A trade source told us, “It's a 3-minute 47-second trailer, loaded with comic moments and big scale, with the entire ensemble getting the focus. Rohit has kept a tight campaign leading to release on December 23, and he wants to communicate all that he wants to with the first trailer of the film. He believes to create an impression with the first asset and the ones who have seen the trailer are going gaga over it.”

On the first anniversary of the release of Satyameva Jayate 2, director Milap Zaveri took to social media to pen a heartfelt note, where he expressed gratitude towards the entire team including the lead cast John Abraham, Divya Khosla Kumar, and others for supporting him during the time of pandemic. In the same breath, the director maintained that he took full responsibility of the failure of the film at the box office and also opened up about the lessons he learnt post the experience.

Milap Zaveri took to Twitter to share the heartfelt note which read, “1 year since Satyameva Jayate 2 released and failed at the Box office. We gave it our sweat, blood and tears in the middle of the pandemic. A huge cast and crew who were amazing. The film didn't work commercially and I take full and solo responsibility for that. My conviction failed. But I will always be proud of it. I will always love and cherish the process of making it with the people I loved. This past year has been tough. One failure eclipsed the successes like Satyameva Jayate and Marjavaan of the past. Those who answered phones in a jiffy now let it ring out. Many lessons have been learnt. Many walked away. And Many stood by me when the going was hard. But a phoenix always rises from the ashes. Like I once told someone "Mujh mein itna talent hai ki main apna ukhaad loonga" And I will. Coz there are still many who believe in me. Who still believe I will fight back and comeback even stronger.”

He went on to add, “Will forever be grateful to John, all 3 of him for doing this film and giving his all to Satya, Jay and to my favourite Dadasaab, to Divya for being so divine and adorable to work with, to Shaad for being my strength, to Gautami for ensuring there wasn't a dull day on the sets, to Minnakshi who was my rock and a blessing, to Nora who again made my film special with her presence, to Anup Soni sir, Harsh sir, Saahil, and my entire cast. Will always be grateful to Bhushan sir, Monisha, Madhu, Nikhil, Shiv sir who gave me everything I needed to make the film I wanted to make. To Ramesh, Priyanka, Meenakshi, Satish, Hemraj, Shagun, Jay, Shivam, Amin bhai, Adil, Kunal, Parikshit, Dudley sir, Priya, Maahir, Vinay, Akshay Tyagi, to all my technicians and cast, to all the wonderful people at Emmay and T series.”

“I truly have no regrets. If I have forgotten to mention or thank anyone I apologise. Each and everyone of you are always in my heart. As a legendary senior director always tells me "Milap! Hum un mein se hai jo upar bhagwan ke paas jaakar bhi Ek aur film banaa hi lenge!" See you again at the movies... soon! That's a promise. And remember "Tann Mann Dhann, se Badhkar Jann Gann Mann!"”, he concluded.

Satyameva Jayate 2, which featured John Abraham in a triple role, released on November 25, 2021, amidst the later stages of the pandemic. The film failed to make a mark at the box office and received a lot of backlash from the audiences.

Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan is one of the most excitedly awaited films from Bollywood as it marks the comeback of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. On top of that, the action-packed teaser of the movie, which was recently out, upped the anticipation even further. And now, the film’s director Siddharth Anand has revealed a Tom Cruise connection to the film. In order to make Pathaan an even bigger spectacle, the makers have roped in the known Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Casey O’Neil on board. He has worked with some of Tom Cruise’s biggest actioners like Mission Impossible series, Jack Reacher and Top Gun: Maverick, along with a few Marvel Studios and Steven Spielberg films.

Speaking about the association, Siddharth said in a statement, “When one sets out to make the spectacle action film of India with one of the all-time biggest heroes of our country, Shah Rukh Khan, you need to have a champion team that is unified in the vision. Thankfully we got an A-team that came together to push the visual envelope with Pathaan and I was delighted to have someone like Casey O’Neill, who has extensively worked with Tom Cruise, to be by our side.”

Adding onto Casey’s work, the filmmaker added, “He brings in a wealth of experience and he immediately bought into the idea of creating edge-of-the-seat action for Pathaan that could match what he’s done back home in Hollywood. What Casey has created in Pathaan is simply mind-boggling. You will have to see the film for that because we aren’t going to disclose any details from the film till it releases in theatres on 25 Jan.”

Pathaan also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.

Not too long ago, it was announced that the 90s stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Mithun Chakraborty will be coming together for a film together, which has been titled Baap. While the trio is known for their share of action films, veteran actor Mithun too has been a part of many of these commercial masala maar-daad entertainers. While the four stars coming together had created ample buzz, adding more to the anticipation, the makers unveiled a special behind-the-scenes (BTS) video of the kind of stunts and action we can expect from this quintessential Bollywood film.

Giving the feel of 90s potboilers, the recently released BTS video from Baap features the adrenaline pumping stunts by Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, and Jackie Shroff. The actors have been a part of many such typical Bollywood action entertainers in the past. While Sunny was known for his performances in action films like Ghatak and Ghayal, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff too have done a fair share of such films. Reviving their action avatars, the recent video featured them doing some power packed punches and even showcased bits and pieces of high Bollywood drama you will get to witness in the film. Taking to their Instagram, the video was posted with a caption that read, “Parde par yeh kare kamaal, aur parde ke peeche? Khud hi dekh lo..?? Full-on dhamaal, bawaal aur masti bemisaal. ?? Here’s your sneak peek into the sets of this #BaapOfAllFilm.

Earlier this month, the makers had also shared character posters of the four stars wherein they also unveiled their reel-life names in the film. While Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the role of Ballu, Mithun Chakraborty is named as Yeda Bhagat. Sunny Deol will reprise his name as Arjun whereas Jackie Shroff is Jaikishan. Interestingly, Sunny Deol also featured in a film titled Arjun, in which he played the titular role.

Coming to the film, Baap will be directed by Vivek Chauhan and will be produced by Ahmed Khan and Shaira Ahmed Khan in association with Zee Studios.
