Ted Sarandos, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Netflix, will conduct a question and answer session with Sanjay Leela Bhansali today, Saturday February 18. Bhansali will be quizzed on the fast-evolving relationship between cinema and the OTT platform. Although it is a web-series, Heeramandi, which he is making for Netflix, is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most ambitious work to date. “In terms of vision and labour, Heeramandi is the toughest project of my career so far. It is like making eight different films. Every episode is like a full-length feature film. There are no compromises in the filmmaking because of the size of the screen,” says Bhansali. Yash Raj Films’ latest offering Pathaan has turned out to be a winner at the box office, not just in India but also world over. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan’s powerful act, this was also because of the international standard of stunts and action sequences the Siddharth Anand directed film offered. This was made possible because the makers roped in the Hollywood action director Casey O’Neill for the film. He has worked in some of the internationally acclaimed and successful Hollywood flicks, including Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher and Top Gun: Maverick. Casey planned and executed some of the exciting action sequences in Pathaan. O’Neill said that he found some similarities between Cruise and Khan after working with both of them. “They are both true professionals in their craft and so talented. Tom Cruise is a fearless actor who lives and breathes his craft and wants to push the envelope when it comes to his body and his cinema to only entertain audiences. SRK is just the same,” he said in a statement. He added, “Shah Rukh Khan has pushed his body, he has unlearnt and learnt action to deliver Pathaan as an entertainer like no other. Both are driven and committed lovers of cinema who will do whatever it takes to make the audience happy. I have worked with Tom on many and exciting films. We all have enjoyed working with each other through the years. It was a pleasure working with another global movie star like Shah Rukh Khan and seeing him transform into an action star that no one has ever seen before.” Heaping praises on Khan, O’Neill added, “SRK is an exceptional athlete and performer. He can adapt into many different action sequences and excel in the process of movie magic for the big screen. He is a true gentleman and an amazing actor and I was honoured to be a part in the making of Pathaan with him and the entire crew.” O’Neill planned the Dubai action scene and the ice lake bike chase in Pathaan, two of the most liked moments from the film. Talking about the latter, he said, “In collaboration with director Siddharth Anand, we came up with an exciting chase on the snow and ice, taking into consideration the vast beauty Siberia has to offer. This showed up in such dramatic fashion and really made the action of that scene look like no other. The deep blue ice was an exceptional backdrop for the chase on Lake Baikal which was an adventure in itself shooting in the elements on a tight schedule before the ice melted.” O’Neill has also worked behind the action in films like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Ant-Man And The Wasp, Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2, etc. As far as Pathaan’s box office performance is concerned, the film, which also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, recently crossed the Rs 500 crores mark at the India box office. Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn is kicking off 2023 with the upcoming action-drama Bholaa. The Hindi remake of Kaithi has been styled as the story of a one-man army, set in one night, fighting a multitude of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise. Shah Rukh Khan is on a high thanks to Pathaan. Its blockbuster success has raised hopes for his forthcoming film, Jawan. The film created a frenzy just on the basis of its first look teaser, which was launched way back in June last year. Moreover, it is directed by Atlee, who is known for making blockbuster, massy films down South. As a result, the expectations are immense from Jawan not just for the audiences but also trade and industry. Recently, it came to light that Jawan’s shooting will be over in a month’s time. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, 130 days of filming have already been done and around 30 days of work are left. As per this article, Shah Rukh Khan will be shooting an intense chase sequence in Mumbai. Interestingly, he plays a double role and the chase sequence is between both the characters played by the superstar. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “While Pathaan was also an action film; the action in Jawan will be different. It’s mostly shot in real locations and blockbuster director Atlee has treated these sequences in his massy style, aided by action directors Sunil Rodrigues and ANL Arasu. It also fits well with the post-pandemic demands of seeing larger-than-life and fascinating stuff on the big screen. In that regard, Jawan is just the right film and will promise loads of entertainment to the viewers.” Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Priya Mani and Sanya Malhotra. Vijay Sethupathi, who recently debuted in the Hindi-speaking markets with the acclaimed web series Farzi, is reportedly playing the antagonist. Cinema is considered the biggest mode of entertainment in India. It was all possible because of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke aka Dadasaheb Phalke who gave birth to cinema in India after he made Raja Harishchandra way back in 1913 by battling various odds. Today happens to be the 79th death anniversary of Phalke. To mark the occasion, producer Anand Pandit recalls him and pays tribute to his contribution. “The Indian film industry owes its inception to Dadasaheb Phalke as he was the pioneer who invented the cinematic language that we now use to tell our stories,” said Pandit in a statement. “He showed filmmakers how to bring their dreams to life on celluloid by making India’s first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra in 1913 and laid the foundation of the industry that we are so proud of today.” Touching upon Phalke’s journey and his later films, Pandit added, “It could not have been easy but Dadasaheb had an insatiable desire to expand his horizons. He started a printing press, went to London to study cinema, was a tireless learner and went on to make India’s first silent film. He has 95 movies and 27 short films to his credit in a short span of 19 years at a time when we had limited technological resources! His mythological movies like Mohini Bhasmasur, Satyavan Savitri, Lanka Dahan, Shri Krishna Janma, and Kaliya Mardan were technically sound and sheer marvels of storytelling. Cinema has come a long way from the 1930s but nothing matches the perfectionism and beauty of Dadasaheb’s works.” Pandit added that Phalke was involved in every aspect of filmmaking and was not limited to writing and directing alone. “He was an art student and had a vast knowledge of architecture which helped him create backdrops for his movies. Apart from directing, producing, scripting, and acting, he was even involved in the technical aspects of movie-making. He handled photography, processed films, and even helped in designing costumes.” Pandit claimed that he ensures that he learns from Phalke’s journey and teachings. “As a producer, I always look upon him and try to imbibe his never-to-say-die attitude,” he said. “I am hugely inspired by his determination, vision, and courage. It was his undying passion that never made him worry about failures or rejections. As we all know, cinema is an industry of uncertainties, but holding on to steadfast values like these can lead us to success.” Just over a decade ago, filmmaker Paresh Mokashi came up with a Marathi biopic on Phalke titled Harishchandrachi Factory. The film traced Phalke’s unusual and funny journey while making his first film Raja Harishchandra. The film saw Nandu Madhav and Vibhawari Deshpande play Phalke and his wife Saraswati. The movie was India’s official entry to the Oscars in 2009. Salman Khan is among the biggest superstars of all time and every move of his makes it to the headline. During the pandemic time, Salman had confirmed in a media interaction that he was in talks for the official biopic of Indian Spy, Ravindra Kaushik with director Rajkumar Gupta. However, after that, things fizzled out. Now, a source close to Salman tells us the real reason why Bhaijaan is not doing the film. "Salman Khan is already doing a spy film in the Tiger Franchise which will be growing from strength to strength in the years to come by. He didn't want to do another spy film, which will lead to a comparison between the two characters. Interestingly, even the legendary Indian spy, Ravindra Kaushik had the code name Tiger, making things even more similar. Hence, after a series of discussions with his team, he let go off Black Tiger," a source told Bollywood Hungama. The rights to make the film were resting with director Rajkumar Gupta. "After confirming with Salman about his involvement in the project, Rajkumar Gupta didn't renew the rights. They eventually lapsed and were acquired by Anurag Basu. The film will now be made by Anurag Basu, who also has Salman at the back of his mind," the source further told us. What about conflict with Tiger? "Anurag Basu's vision for Ravindra Kaushik is very different from the Tiger franchise. However, he is still not 100 percent sure about the casting of Black Tiger. There is also a chance of him approaching a younger actor to play the lead role. We will have a clear picture on Black Tiger in one month." The major multiplexes screening Punjabi films have come together to take a stand, requesting the Producers Guild of India to increase the theatrical window for their films. The multiplexes have requested producers and distributors to sign an undertaking which will guarantee that they will be screening Punjabi films for eight weeks before it releases on OTT. For the unversed, the regional language films are often given a four-week window of theatrical release, after which these films release on varied OTT platforms. However, in the latest request, they have asked the Producers Guild to increase it by four weeks. In a letter sent to Producers Guild of India, it has been explained in a statement, “An industry that has been struggling to find its feet post the pandemic to stay profitable for all parties concerned has been short-changed yet again due to a unilateral decision by the newly merged, major multiplexes playing Punjabi Film content. Further explaining how the decision of a 4-week window has impacted Punjabi cinema”, the letter added, “Punjabi films get lowest percentage shares amongst all film categories in the country. This is despite the average ticket rates being similar to those of Hindi language films. These decisions, taken in complete isolation and without complete industry participation and due diligence, have been made to benefit a few and will end up harming all parties in the long run-affecting their film's profitability.” “The Punjabi industry releases over 70 films a year; and with lower revenue shares, extended windowing, ends up on the losing side due to a monopolistic scenario created by the multiplexes. We urge the Guild and all stake holders to come together, discuss all pros and cons threadbare and arrive at a mutually beneficial resolution,” concluded the letter. Ranveer Singh is one of the most promising actors today, who has an insane fan following since his first film, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010). The actor along with his first producer, Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF), spoke about how the former got his first break in the Netflix show, The Romantics. Ranveer Singh revealed that he had lost hope of becoming an actor during his struggling days. But he happened to know Shanoo Sharma, who later became the casting director of YRF. When Aditya Chopra was looking for a new face for Band Baaja Baaraat, Shanoo suggested Ranveer Singh. Aditya Chopra admitted on the show that he was not impressed with Ranveer. He said, “He really didn't look good. I fired Shanoo. I asked her, ‘What’s wrong with you?’” But Shanoo Sharma convinced him to let Ranveer Singh give it a shot. Shanoo then raised laughs as she confessed that Ranveer didn’t pick up her call as probably he was busy with a girl! With no other option, she messaged him saying ‘Adi Chopra’! Ranveer then narrated in his dramatic style that he almost dropped his phone when he read Shanoo’s message. Ranveer Singh then further said that when he went for the audition, he was aided by popular actress Bhumi Pednekar who was then Shanoo’s assistant. He said, “The only reason I was able to give a good audition was because she was performing the scene with me.” Aditya Chopra loved the audition immensely and the YRF team called him the same day. However, the next round of auditions and readings, involving co-actor Anushka Sharma, director Maneesh Sharma etc were ‘disastrous’, in the words of Ranveer. This is when Aditya Chopra walked in and met Ranveer Singh for the first time. Ranveer Singh stated, “Adi sir asked me, ‘Why are you screwing it up?’. He continued, "Aditya Chopra told me, ‘When I saw your audition, I saw a 25-year career in front of me. I've not seen an audition like that’”. Netflix’s The Elephant Whisperers bagged a nomination for the 95th Oscars, Documentary Short Film in January 2023. This documentary marks the directorial debut of Kartiki Gonsalves. The documentary is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment. The documentary was screened at the United States of America’s largest and most prestigious documentary festival - DOC NYC 2022 Film Festival on November, 10th 2022. If what the grapevine says is true, then apparently OTT streaming giant Amazon Prime Video, which had announced the release of the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Tiku Weds Sheru, has now decided to defer the release of the film. Revealing details about the same a source close to the development informed Bollywood Hungama, “Earlier this year Amazon Prime Video held a massive press conference where they announced a number of shows and films that were to release in 2023. Among them was the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Tiku Weds Sheru. Though there was no date, Prime Video did claim that the film would release this year. However, now looking at the issues Nawaz is facing, the streaming giant has decided to defer the release and put it on the back burner for the time being.” Quiz the source on the reason behind this and he continues, “Before a film releases, there are promotions, be it a theatrical or OTT release. But with Nawaz finding himself in the eye of the storm, the OTT platform sees this as a hurdle and to avoid bad press which could damage the film, the decision was taken to postpone its release.” While currently, an official confirmation on the rescheduling of Tiku Weds Sheru is awaited, the film itself is said to be a romantic drama and a dark satire film. Deewaar changed the landscape of films in terms of how a Hindi hero was presented on the big screen. It made Amitabh Bachchan the biggest star of the era, whereas filmmaker Yash Chopra proved that he can seamlessly direct any genre of movies. Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar once again proved their mettle with the introduction of the ‘angry young man’ genre in Hindi cinema. Turns out, Yash Chopra’s name was suggested by Salim-Javed, as revealed by Amitabh Bachchan in the Netflix documentary The Romantics which celebrates the legacy of Yash Chopra and YRF. “Salim-Javed suggested that Yash should direct Deewaar. Now Yash ji by that time had established himself as a director who worked more in beautiful sceneries, but Deewaar was very rugged and one wondered whether he would accept to do something like this,” Bachchan shared. Salim Khan, who appears in the documentary, said, “Lot of people thought Deewaar is an action film. In Deewaar, there is only one fight scene, otherwise, that was a film of family drama.” Deewaar kicked off a long list of collaborations between Yash Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan. They went on to work on Kabhi Kabhie, Trishul, Kaala Patthar, and Silsila, among others. The megastar also credited Chopra for reviving his career with the 2000 film Mohabbatein. The Romantics has been directed by Oscar & Emmy-nominated filmmaker Smriti Mundhra. After becoming the top three finalists in the season, Priyanka, however, unfortunately lost the trophy to rapper MC Stan. But it seems that the actress has had a massive impact on the film fraternity along with other audiences. Reports of her being offered Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki and a Salman Khan film has been doing the rounds, and after the actress came out to the Bigg Boss house, she opened up on these reports. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary confessed that she is not aware of any such offers because she has not spoken to her team after coming out of the house. Readers may recall that the contestants have to be locked in the house until their elimination, because of which, the actress stated that she has been out of touch with the outside world for almost four months now. Priyanka was quoted saying in these reports, "I don’t have any idea about Shah Rukh Khan sir’s film because I have just come out and haven’t got a chance to speak with anyone. Salman Sir had asked me to meet him after the show that I know but there is nothing more to it as of now. For me both SRK and Salman sir are like God. I have no idea about the offers." In the same breath, the actress also confessed that she wouldn’t want to leave television, even if she gets multiple Bollywood offers and would opt for juggling between both rather than letting go off TV. Switzerland is paying tribute to the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, saluting his contribution to having showcased Switzerland’s beauty to Indians through the magic of his cinema. The much-awaited Netflix docu-series, The Romantics, is a celebration of the legacy of Yash Chopra, YRF, and its cultural impact on Indians over the past 50 years. It is set to release this Tuesday, the 14th of February. Remo Käser, Director of Sales Jungfrau Railways, Switzerland, reveals, “The legend, Yash Chopra, has presented the beauty of Switzerland and especially the Jungfrau Region to Indians across the world for generations, through his beautiful, soulful cinema. Indians, who come to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe year on year, have always spoken to us about how the romantic films of Yash Chopra have pushed them to visit the Jungfrau Region and Interlaken and make memories for a lifetime.” The Swiss authorities will celebrate Yash Chopra’s legacy across the country, especially in places where the filmmaker shot mega-hits like Darr and Chandni. His son Aditya Chopra also shot the all-time blockbuster, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in Switzerland. Every Indian has been enchanted by Switzerland’s snow-capped mountains, lush valleys, and pristine lakes in large part because of Yash Chopra’s films. It is said that he visited Switzerland for his honeymoon and was smitten by the country instantly. The Swiss government has continuously honoured the legendary filmmaker through the years. In 2011, Switzerland’s Jungfrau Railways inaugurated a train named after him — an honour shared only with the railway’s founder, Adolf Guyer. The train featured his signature and name on a signboard. In May 2016, a bronze statue of Yash Chopra was installed by the Switzerland government as a tribute, near the Congress Centre in Interlaken, a popular tourist spot. At the prestigious Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, a special deluxe cinema-themed suite was named after Yash Chopra. In 2011, the filmmaker inaugurated the suite. Lake Lauenen, in the Canton of Berne, is referred to as Lake Chopra! The Swiss government honoured Yash Chopra with the title of Ambassador of Interlaken, making him the first recipient of the award. He was also bestowed the Swiss Ambassador’s Award. Remo adds, “Switzerland and India have a great bond of mutual respect and admiration and Yash Chopra has played a monumental role in solidifying the relationship between our great nations. Late filmmaker Guru Dutt’s sister Lalitha Lajmi, noted painter, has passed away at the age of 90. The news of her demise was shared by the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) on Monday. "With Profound grief and sorrow NGMA, Mumbai, Ministry of Culture, Government of India shares the news of demise of veteran artist and printmaker Smt. Lalitha Lajmi who left for heavenly abode this morning (13.02.2023). Our Deepest Condolences. RIP," NGMA wrote in the post on Twitter. The note read, “Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India , we were honoured to present "The Minds Cupboard" - a retrospective of Lalitha Ji's large body of work at the NGMA on January 12th, 2023.” “Lalitha Lajmi was born to a poet father and a poly-linguist writer mother in Kolkata in 1932. Coming from a family involved in the arts, Lajmi was very fond of classical dance and painting. She found her calling in painting. An unparalleled watercolourist, through her works she narrates a layered history of the modem Indian woman in the decades that followed Independence. Often her vvorks reflect the hidden tensions that exist between men and women, captured in the different roles they play. Yet, her women are not meek individuals, but assertive and individualistic, with a strong autobiographical element. Lalitha Ji was a regular at all our NGMA opening receptions and we will miss her gracious presence,” the note concluded. Lalitha Lajmi’s last work The Mind's Cupboard is on exhibition at the NGMA in Mumbai till February 26, 2023.

With the release of his most recent talk show, The Invincibles, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan is becoming more well-known. The six-part talk series' guest is Javed Akhtar. He is renowned for being straightforward in life, recently shared his secret to quitting drinking. When probed about his former binge drinking during a conversation with Arbaaz Khan on Bollywood Bubble, the author revealed that he thought he would have had an untimely death if he hadn't controlled his alcoholism. Javed admitted that he did not drink to drown his grief but rather for enjoyment. He said, “I drank because I enjoyed it. It was a pleasure. I was not drowning any sorrow in it. But I understood one thing; common sense dictates that with this kind of drinking I would die by 52-53. Javed acknowledged that he drank a large bottle of rum on July 31 and stopped drinking entirely on August 1. He continued by saying that in all those years, he had never even sampled champagne. When Arbaaz praised his resolve, Javed remarked, “Willpower is nothing. It is the intensity of desire.” According to him the biggest addiction is living and there is no bigger addiction than that. In a 2012 episode of Aamir Khan's Satyameva Jayate, Javed Akhtar talked openly about his battle with drinking. He said, “I started drinking at a very young age of 19. When I came to Bombay (now Mumbai) after completing my graduation I started drinking with friends and later it became a habit. Earlier I didn’t have enough money, but then after my success, money flow was also taken care of. The world has seen the phenomenal success of Hombale films, Kantara. As the film is still conquering the hearts of the masses, it has also been flowing in a rumour of Urvashi Rautela joining the cast of Kantara 2. Much before this rumour comes to the surface a source close to production have come up with the clarification stating all these rumours baseless. Recently, Urvashi Rautela just happened to be on the same premises as Rishab Shetty, where she requested to meet the Kantara fame and he politely obliged. She posted the picture clicked with him with a cryptic caption, giving rise to these completely false rumours.” As now we hear that all this buzz is baseless, we are eagerly waiting to hear more about the progress of the prequel of Kantara as announced by Rishab Shetty on the occasion of the film completing 100 days, recently. Rishab Shetty was seen speaking about the sequel of Kantara. He said, “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year.” He further added, “The idea has been flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it, and currently, if the writing part is concerned we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still progressing, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.” The prequel for Kantara will be produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda, under Hombale Films, the film will feature Rishab Shetty in the lead. On the work front, Urvashi was recently seen winning hearts from the audience all over the world for her massive party anthem song Boss Party alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi in film Waltair Vereeyya. Urvashi will next be seen alongside Ram Pothineni. She will also play Randeep Hooda's co-star in Inspector Avinash. The actress will also make her Hollywood debut with Michele Morrone, and, in an upcoming global music single, she will be seen with Jason Derulo. Veteran actor Neena Gupta claims that four decades after beginning her career, she has now reached a point where producers see her as a bankable performance. After the box office success of her 2018 film Badhaai Ho, Gupta's career took a turn for the better. In a recent interview Neena spoke about getting leading lady roles in her sixties being a huge thing for her. Neena told PTI, “This is a big deal for me. This is what I wanted throughout my career. You need that break where your film, in which you have a pivotal role, becomes a hit. That never happened to me in films, it happened on TV. When Badhaai Ho, in which I had a solid role, became successful, things changed. Then suddenly I became a very good actor. My market value rose. It is a business... If your market value is good then you will get lead roles.” After making her film debut in 1982 with Saath Saath, starring Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval, Gupta claimed she had expected filmmakers to line up outside her home. However, fate had different ideas for her. She didn't achieve her goal of being a heroine, and for the majority of her career, she was cast in minor parts. She said, “There was a desire and dream... Like in Saath Saath, although I had a small comic role, I would think I have done such a good job that people would queue up outside my house (to work with me). But it is a different business. You cannot do a small comedy part in a film and expect to become a heroine because there is a thappa (tag) on you for small parts. We would yearn to get a good part and I never got it.” Gupta claimed that, whether in commercial or independent film, it was challenging to land main roles during the 1980s and 1990s based only on talent. She thinks the majority of the directors sought out saleable faces when casting. “There was no chance of meeting the producer and director in commercial cinema. There was this parallel cinema and there again the main roles were going to Shabana (Azmi), Smita (Patil) and if it's a small (film), then Deepti (Naval). We had no chance in these films also. Shyam (Benegal) never gave me a major role. I have always played smaller parts in his films. So, the situation was similar in commercial cinema. It is a business, they want to take a saleable face," said the actor. Gupta stated that as an actor, her current objective is to act as a bridge between mainstream and independent cinema. She makes it clear that she is not choosing any conventional mother roles. “I say no to stereotypical roles. And no mother roles. It is good that people are looking at women in different spaces," she said. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Neena last appeared in Shiv Shastri Balboa starring alongside Anupam Kher in the lead role. It also featured actors like Jugal Hansraj, Nargis Fakhri, and Sharib Hashmi. The film hit the theatres on February 10. One of the top young Gen Z actors now working in the business is Bollywood star Siddhant Chaturvedi. He is adored by the audience for his unique flair and charismatic screen presence. The actor is also a devoted admirer of the superhero genre and comic books. He was given a special tour of Mumbai Comic Con that took place this weekend. At the occasion, the actor chatted with Bombay Times in-depth about his love of spectacle cinema, superhero abilities, putting together his own Bollywood Avengers dream team, and more. When asked how excited is he to be at Mumbai Comic Con, the actor told Bombay Times, “I’m super excited because it’s been a while since I attended one. I came here years ago with my brother who’s a huge Marvel fan. The energy and frenzy is bringing back a lot of memories from my college days.” The actor also revealed who has been his favourite superheroes over the years, he said, “I’m a big fan of the X-Men series... especially Wolverine. I used to watch its animated series after school every day. Another favourite is Batman, I love the series Batman of the Future. I am waiting for DC to make a film on that soon.” Further Siddhant went down memory lane and recollected his childhood memories from the time his fascination for superheroes and comics began. He said, “When I was younger, I used to travel to my native place, Ballia (in Uttar Pradesh) a lot. On the way, I would buy Raj comics at the train station. Indian superheroes like Doga, Nagraj and super commando Dhruva became my heroes, before any of the rest came along. I still have a collection of these comic books and they are my most prized possessions and memories. I also have a soft corner for Shaktimaan. If given an opportunity, I would love to play masked vigilante Doga on screen. It’s my childhood dream. I am also drawn to Chakra from the Marvel universe, who’s an Indian character. I’m hoping that they make a film on him, and cast an Indian actor.” When Siddhant was asked if he were to possess a super power, what would that be, he replied, “I would love to be blessed with the power of teleportation! Imagine the time I will save and as you know, time is money. If I have that power, I can do far more things simultaneously. Probably do several film projects at the same time and also travel to my favourite places.” The actor also discussed that if he were to assemble his dream team of Bollywood Avengers, which actors would he choose, he said “This is interesting. I would love to see Shah Rukh Khan as Iron Man. He’s suave, witty, charming and after Pathaan, he can actually invest in making his own Iron Man suit! (laughs). Hrithik Roshan will be great as Captain America given his physique, agility and looks. Sunny Deol would be solid as the Hulk. He’d smash and smash, because he can give the Hulk a run for his money with his dhai kilo ka haath. Katrina Kaif would be perfect asthe Black Widow because she’s one of the fittest people ever. She’s agile and her moves will knock out the enemies. John Abraham can be Thor. Everyone knows why. He’s the only one who’s worthy of playing that part. Further Siddhant shared his views on what according to him has been the reason for the longevity and massive success of the superheroes film dominating big screens globally over the years. He said, “I think technology has played a huge part. These films have been able to convincingly immerse the audience with its visual effects and storylines that aren’t limited in scope. It’s opened a whole new dimension, the multiverse and crossovers. You’re giving the audience an escape unlike anything done before. The characters are interesting. The comics have a huge recall value and being able to see that material come alive on screen is any fan’s dream come true. The viewer is able to identify with these superheroes because they’re also portrayed as being human, which makes them more relatable.” Bollywood has successfully created own homegrown Krrish and Brahmastra now. When Siddhant was asked if wanted to see an Indian superhero gain global recognition too, he stated, “Our heroes and stories are no less. Anyone who empowers the common man is a superhero and our actors and crusaders do that everyday without costumes or gadgets. It’s all about the power of love.” Coming to his professional front, Siddhant was last seen in Phone Bhoot, co-starring Ishaan Khatter and Katrina Kaif. He has a bunch of projects in his kitty, including Yudhra with Malavika Mohanan. Meanwhile, a few months back, Ananya Panday announced the wrap of their upcoming film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Fans of Bigg Boss 16 contestants are eagerly awaiting the results of the finale as they are rooting for their favourites to win the trophy. As the tension gets intense with each passing day towards the finale, the contestants will be lightening up the mood by putting in interesting performances to entertain their fans and audiences. Along with the former contestants, who will also be making appearances during the finale, the finalists will be putting up special acts. Just a day ago, we had reported about how Shalin Bhanot will encompass his journey in the house in his act, now we hear that Shiv Thakare and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary too have interesting acts that they are putting together. A source, who is currently placed on the sets of Bigg Boss 16 finale, told us that the arch-rivals of Bigg Boss 16, Shiv Thakare and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary will be seen in a duet act. The source added, “They would be doing a sort of ‘Tashan’ act - a one vs one sort of performance that indicates the rivalry they had throughout the season. It is going to be inspired by the concept of ‘Fire VS Water’ and even shower sprays have been fitted across the performance area on the sets for the act. Another interesting thing is that they will both be donning black costumes in this performance.” Just like Shalin Bhanot, Shiv and Priyanka’s act will also be choreographed by Pratik Utekar. Talking about Shiv Thakare, he has also been the former winner of Bigg Boss Marathi and rumours have it that he will also be seen in the next season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, hosted by Rohit Shetty. On the other hand, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary acquired fame for her role of Tejo in the show Udaariyaan. Besides this performance, it is being said that Priyanka may also perform with co-Bigg Boss 16 contestant and Udaariyaan co-star Ankit Gupta in the finale. However, details of the same are kept under wraps. This is the final week of Bigg Boss 16 and the finale is currently being aired on Colors. It is also available for streaming on Voot. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently attended the launch event of Shobha De’s book ‘Insatiable’. During the event, a reporter asked Aamir who according to him would be perfect for portraying Shobha De’s character. Aamir named the top Bollywood actresses including Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra post which he took name of Kangana Ranaut. However, Kangana didn’t appear to be very moved by it. “Yea, she would do it well as well. Kangana would do it well. Aamir recently spoke about his career and said he would take a year and a half off from acting when he made an appearance at an event in Delhi.
