A week ago, the trailer of Netflix’s upcoming show, Trial by Fire broke the internet. The Abhay Deol and Rajshri Despande starrer web series is scheduled to start streaming on the OTT platform on January 13. As the release is around the corner, the actor is busy with the promotions of it. During one such stint of his, Abhay opened up about “being a rebel” and how he is not “much of an outcast” in the industry anymore.

It all happened during his recent conversation with Indian Express. “I was in a good head space when the show came to me. I was hopeful that change is here, more challenging subjects will be made, and more actors of diverse backgrounds will get a chance. It is already happening, maybe that’s why I got the show, because I was in a very positive headspace that there is space for someone like me too in my industry,” said the actor.

He further explained, “There was space for me earlier, but in a more conformist manner and I could have capitalised on it a lot better, but my own head space was very defiant at the time because I really wanted change. Now that the change is here, 20 years later, you get a different reception. You also react differently.”

Adding more to make his point clear, Deol said, “There wasn’t much of a reception for me the way I am, perhaps the way they wanted me to be. There was a lot of warmth, don’t get me wrong. They were nice, they weren’t rude, they just… I was the rebel rule breaker, and that doesn’t translate very well. Now I am not so much of an outcast, even though I was born in it, ironically.”

Speaking of the content of his upcoming web show, Abhay said it resonates with him. Concluding his interaction with the portal, Abhay added, “I hoped we would evolve into other diverse characters and ideas other than just the formula. That’s something I have tried from the beginning of my career.”

For the unversed, based on the best-seller, Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy is a story of parents, who take on powerful forces for over two decades in their struggle for justice, which claimed 59 lives and left over 100 injured.

He had an impressive 91-Day run in the Bigg Boss Kannada house and almost made it to the finale. He harbours no resentment or ill feelings about not winning the season. He says, “Bigg Boss was never a competition to me. Had I looked at it as a competition, I wouldn’t have enjoyed my time in the house, I wouldn’t have made such great friends. I entered the house with the mindset that I was embarking on a journey and I am going to go with the flow. I did whatever came naturally to me, and I am glad I made the best of this opportunity.”

MJ Rakesh’s authenticity defined his time on the show and was the highlight of the season. He was central to many high points of the - the schooltime game of lock and key that the housemates played during his exit was a reminder of simpler times and an ode to MJ Rakesh’s playful personality. On Day 85, Bigg Boss surprised MJ Rakesh.  His mother came into the house and their reunion was an emotional, heartfelt one. It was a tearjerker for everyone and was the best moment of the season.

It's no surprise that MJ Rakesh's personality shined through the screen so well, he can hype up an entire stadium of sports fans and can convince A.R. Rahman to sing with him, of course he has a dazzling presence on screen!

MJ Rakesh entered the house on a crane. Yes, a crane! He was airlifted by the crane, and just by his entrance it was clear that he is a powerhouse.

The 91-Day run that followed was a lesson about the value of good morals and good principles. MJ Rakesh became synonymous with "Goodness" in the house and dedicated his week as the captain to celebrating goodness. He stuck by his principles throughout the season and was a man of his word. His humility contrasted with his sprightly screen presence made him an instant fan favourite.

His circle in Bigg Boss consisted of fellow housemates Naveen, Adam, Andy, and Akshatha. And his friendship with Akshatha soon became a subject of rumours typical to Bigg Boss. MJ Rakesh swiftly put these rumours to rest, clarifying that he and Akshatha were nothing beyond good friends and called out people's problematic thinking and their outdated notion that opposite genders cannot be friends.

Even after the exit, MJ Rakesh kept the fans and audience captivated. His final appearance on the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 6 was in the finale episode. His dance  performance on “Salaam Rocky Bhai” the hit KGF soundtrack was subject to much love and appreciation- not just from his fans but also the host Sudeep and the Colors channel.

Beautiful actress Nushrratt Bharuccha is one of the talented actresses in the industry today who has successfully made her mark in the race of top actresses. Recently, the actress went out of her way to perform a scene while shooting for her upcoming film, where she got a cut on her face while performing an action sequence in the film. Her Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 co-star, who is also her good friend- Ishita Raj took to her social media and shared a hilarious video of the same.

In the video shared by the actress’ friend, Nushrratt can be seen lying at the doctor’s clinic and is getting her cut stitched. Now as much as Nushrratt is in pain, her friend’s light-footed approach makes her laugh. Meanwhile on the work front, she is currently shooting for Chhorii 2. Bharuccha had won accolades for performance in the layered horror film Chhorri and now she is shooting for the film. Veteran cinematographer and special effects provider Peter Pereira has passed away at the age of 93. Peter Pereira is best known for films such as Mr India (1987), Sheshnaag (1990), Ajooba (1991), Border (1997), and Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1973). Confirming the news of his demise, actor Abhishek Bachchan took to his verified Twitter handle and penned a tribute to him.

For the unversed, besides the Anil Kapoor starrer Mr India, Peter has also contributed significantly to Amitabh Bachchan's film Ajooba and Sunny Deol's film Border. “Our industry lost a legend today. #PeterPereira was a pioneer in Cinematography in our films. One of the greatest!,” twitted Junior Bachchan.

Abhishek further added, “I remember him fondly from the sets of my father’s films that I visited as a child. Kind, loving, dignified and brilliant. Rest in Peace, sir.” In no time, Twitterati took to the comments section and paid condolences. “May the departed soul rest in Peace,” wrote a Twitter user, while another called him “legend”. The comments section was flooded with “Rest in Peace”, and “Om Shanti”.

In 2019, during an interview with Scroll, the late cinematographer had briefly spoken about making a career in the entertainment business, given that his father also belonged to the same field. He had said, “My father was a photography enthusiast. I shared his hobby and enjoyed photography from the very beginning, throughout my youth. I owned a small Brownie camera and used to take lots of pictures. It was during my time as an apprentice at Basant Studio, where being in that whole environment in which films were being made, I too got attracted to motion pictures.”

Peter last worked on filmmaker Hemant Chaturvedi’s documentary.

The trailer of Pathaan was unveiled yesterday and has since been the biggest buzzword on the internet. Pathaan is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and has the biggest superstars of the country Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in it. Director Siddharth Anand is thrilled about the reaction that he has been getting for the trailer without giving out the most significant moments from the film!

He says, “It was a huge task to arrive at the trailer of Pathaan because the teaser and the two songs 'Besharam Rang' and 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan' have taken the expectations of the film sky high. We were clear that we will make a trailer that will only add to the buzz and the hype that the film currently has.”

Siddharth adds, “We have very carefully and strategically arrived at a trailer that teases some of the best moments of Pathaan for audiences to enjoy and yet hold back and not even given a sneak peek into the majority of the screen-stealing situations that will make Pathaan a truly big screen action spectacle like no other. I’m glad that without giving out a lot from the film, we have made a trailer that has received unanimous appreciation.”

He further says, “As the saying goes, this is just the trailer, you have to watch the film to understand the scale at which Pathaan has been made. We hope that we entertain Indians across the globe and make them proud that we have made a film that can match the visual spectacle of any international action entertainer.”

Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Last seen in Naagin 6, Bollywood-television actress Mahekk Chahal recently gave a health update to her fans after news reports about her being hospitalized started doing the rounds. A day ago, it was reported that Mahek was admitted to a nearby hospital after she was diagnosed with pneumonia. In a video shared by the actress on social media, she stated that she ignored her normal cold-like symptoms which later aggravated the condition.

Mahekk Chahal took to Instagram to share a video to assure her fans that she is currently in the recouping stage. In the video, the actress was seen resting on a bed, as she said, “I am fine and much better. I got pneumonia because I think I ignored a cold because I was travelling a lot. I was in Chicago and later in Delhi. It was very cold. I just thought it was a normal cold-cough. It turns out it was pneumonia. I just ignored it because I was working.”

The actress went on to advise her fans that they shouldn’t be ignoring certain symptoms and should get a check-up done in case if the cold-like symptoms lead to anything serious. “So if you have pain in the chest while breathing or coughing, go to the doctor and please get it checked, so that you don't end up in hospital like me,” she concluded.

For the unversed, a report in Hindustan Times had reported that Mahekk Chahal was in the ICU owing to her health condition. They had quoted her saying, “I was in the ICU for 3-4 days. I was on an oxygen ventilator. I just collapsed on January 2 and it was like knives in my chest. I couldn’t take a single breath. I was rushed to the hospital and admitted immediately. A CT scan was taken. I’m still hospitalised, it’s been eight days, though I’m in the normal ward. I have improved a lot, (but) the oxygen still goes up and down. Both my lungs were infected.”

We at Bollywood Hungama too wish the actress a quick recovery.

Last week, Bollywood Hungama literally created a ‘hungama’ with our article on the cut list in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan, as approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). There was a lot of curiosity to know what had been cut or censored from the film, especially after CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi had confirmed that some modifications had been carried out, as per the existing guidelines.

And now, Bollywood Hungama brings to you the censor report of Kuttey, which releases this week. As per the cut list, some 10 changes were carried out by the makers. However, most of them involve adding or modifying disclaimers. In the beginning, a disclaimer was added stating that the filmmaker or any person associated with the film does not intend to insult or malign the image of the police or class of person(s) in any manner whatsoever. The other disclaimer states that no one from the film encourages or promotes the involvement of children in any form of crime. An anti-drug disclaimer was added while the font size of the anti-smoking ticker was increased during the smoking scenes.

As for the audio changes, the cuss word ‘m*******d’ was replaced with ‘b******d’. Interestingly, in some scenes, ‘b******d’ has been uttered by characters and these words have been replaced with ‘b******e’ and ‘harami’. And that’s not all. ‘B******d’ has been muted at places where ‘it was not directly intended for a person’. It has also been removed from the subtitles in such dialogues.

Another audio change was done in the dialogue ‘Naya naya musalman’ and it was replaced by ‘Naya naya pandu’. Lastly, the mention of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh has been removed from the scene of the Prime Minister’s speech.

The film also has a visual change. The scenes of frontal nudity in the intimate scenes have been ‘modified suitably’.

After these changes were carried out, the CBFC passed Kuttey with an ‘A’ certificate on December 30, 2022. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 112 minutes. In other words, Kuttey is 1 hour and 52 minutes long.

Kuttey stars Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj. It marks the directorial debut of Vishal Bhardwaj’s son, Aasmaan Bhardwaj and releases in cinemas on January 13.

If there is one actor in Hindi cinema who has successfully managed to rule hearts as a superhero, it is none other than Hrithik Roshan. And ever since the release of Krrish 3, rumours about a sequel have been doing the rounds. Similarly, while the Roshan family has confirmed about Krrish 4 in the pipeline, the film has been facing a few delays. Recently, the birthday boy Hrithik Roshan opened up about the update on his forthcoming films which included the Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter, War 2, and Krrish 4.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Hrithik Roshan revealed details of his film Fighter in which he is expected to play the role of an Air Force pilot along with Deepika Padukone. Speaking about the intense airplane action sequences one can expect from the film, Hrithik said, “We are shooting with real fighter jets. We just shot in a Sukhoi. It has been so inspiring just being around the Indian Air Force. There is so much to learn from their body language, decorum, the discipline, their courage and intelligence. I am very glad that I got to experience that myself.”

On the other hand, addressing the reports about War 2 being on the cards, he added, “Aditya Chopra is extremely secretive; I think you should just take it from my expression, I am not saying anything.” Coming to Krrish 4, the actor asserted that the film is indeed on the cards and there are just facing a few minor delays because of technical issues. “I think, we should all get together and send out a little prayer. Everything is set but we are stuck on one little technicality. Hopefully, we will overcome that by year end. Krrish 4 is definitely in the pipeline and it will happen real soon,” confirmed the actor.

Meanwhile, speaking of Fighter, the film will also feature Akshay Oberoi, Karan Singh Grover, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is slated to release on January 25, 2024, during the occasion of Republic Day.

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan returned to the sets of Shehzada this past weekend to film a song sequence. The shoot commenced with director Rohit Dhawan and choreographer Ganesh Acharya. Owing to the intense dance sequence, the actor suffered some pain in his calves and was seen taking ice therapy.

Sharing a photo from his vanity van, Kartik Aaryan had his legs in a bucket full of ice water. He captioned the photo, “Ghootne toot gaye. Ice Bucket Challenge 2023 starts now #Shehzada #SongShoot  #CalvesGone.”

With Shehzada, Kartik Aaryan turns producer. A source close to Kartik revealed, “It wasn’t planned or anything. It is the early days for Kartik to turn producer. He has just started his career as an actor. But then, the unexpected happened. Shehzada encountered a financial crisis and if someone did not step in at that moment, the project would have been stalled.”

“After having seen such circumstances arising, it was indeed a fair decision from Kartik to step forward to rescue the project. “Kartik offered to forego his remuneration. That’s when the other producers offered to have him on board as a producer,” as informed by a friend.

Having joined the film as a producer, Kartik has added his name to the other producers Bhushan Kumar, Allu Arvind, and Aman Gill. The production companies are T-Series Films, part of their 100-film slate, Allu Entertainment and Haarika & Hassine Creations. Shehzada is Hindi remake of Allu Arjun starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film stars Kriti Sanon in the lead role.

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan will also be seen in Aashiqui 3, and Kabir Khan’s untitled next along with Satyaprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani.

The legendary Dharmendra has worked with Karan Johar for the first time. “Kab shooting shuroo hui kab khatm ho gayi, pataa hi nahi chala (never knew when the shooting began and ended). The shooting was like a breeze,” the legendary Dharmendra is very happy with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Says Dharamji, “I had not worked with Karan before. Pataa nahin kyon. Bass ek ittefaq. I have worked with almost every brilliant filmmaker in this industry: Bimal Roy, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Yash Chopra, Dulal Guha,Ramesh Sippy,Asit Sen, Satyen Bose, J P Dutta. But somehow, I never got an opportunity to work with Karan Johar before this.”

Dharamji is impressed by Karan’s directorial acumen. “He is completely clued into every department of filmmaking. Chahe woh gaane ho ya editing, Karan Johar is completely into it. Bahot mazaa aaaya usske saath kaam karke (really enjoyed myself working with him).”

His co-stars made the experience all the more kosher. “Whether it was Jaya and Shabana, or Ranveer and Alia, they were all so warm affectionate and kind. Bilkul ghar ka mahaul ttha sets pe. Working on Rocky Aur Rani …was like having home food.”

Arjun Kapoor who is currently gearing up for his next release Kuttey has certainly come a long way since his debut back in 2012. The actor who has carved a niche for himself in the industry is someone who is rather active on social media and enjoys a massive fan following. Though in 2022 Arjun featured just one release, Ek Villain Returns, the actor has a slate of three releases this year starting with Kuttey. Well, even before the film hits screens Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Arjun Kapoor has begun talks with filmmaker Homi Adajania.

Confirming the same a source close to the developments informed Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “Yes, Arjun is in talks with Homi for a new venture. They are currently discussing the project and the viability of the same. In fact, Arjun has already heard the concept of the film and has liked the initial idea. Once the discussions are complete, will the script of the film be fleshed out, post which a formal announcement of the new venture will be made.” Ask the source for details of the concept and he continues, “Right now it is very early to discuss details of the venture. Currently, only a concept and brief flow of the film is ready. Once everything from the detailed script to other details is ready will Arjun come on board.”

While this new project will take a while to be mounted, Arjun has his hands full with multiple releases. With Kuttey slated to his screens this week, the actor will next be seen in The Lady Killer followed by Meri Patni Ka Remake.

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Kuttey, has voiced his opinion on the ongoing controversies surrounding Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. For unversed, the film has become a target of several outfits due to the saffron colour swimsuit worn by Deepika Padukone in the ‘Besharam Rang’ song. It created an uproar and CBFC has axed certain lyrics and scenes from the song too.

Talking about Pathaan, Arjun Kapoor told India Today, “I think the fact that we are discussing it will give undue advantage to it at this point. We have to trust our censor board and the central government as they operate together. I think everybody has a right to an opinion in a democracy, but we as artistes have to do what the film demands and have to stick to that authenticity. I don’t think we need to get caught up in a question that gives undue importance to things that create unnecessary banter and chatter.”

“Our job should always be to do what is needed for the film and then give the film to the people who can decide what offends them and what doesn’t. I think we have followed that for a long time. Every film that gets made has to follow a process, even if our film is no exception. We should just trust the process and the rules in a democracy," he added.

On the work front, Pathaan is set to release in theatres on January 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, Kuttey is touted to be a caper that also has outstanding actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Tabu, Kumud Mishra and Radhika Madan in it. The film has been directed by debutant Aasmaan Bhardwaj, who is ace film-maker Vishal Bhardwaj’s son. It releases on January 13, 2023.

Speaking of the same, Arjun recalls, “So, I've already worked with Naseer bhai in Finding Fanny and I had a very nice time, learned so much from him, spent a lot of quality time with him. In Kuttey, he and I share screen space again and on the first day that he came on set, it was a night shoot. And he's somebody who you don't really go out and talk about your work. I'm so junior to him. It was really, really nice that he came on set, he hugged me and he said I saw Dibakar’s film where you were fantastic in it.”

He adds, “For me, just the fact that he had taken out time to see one of my films, whether it was for Dibakar’s sake or my sake or for Parineeti’s sake, just the fact that he saw it, he appreciated it and he was so vocal about it. I don't think somebody like Naseeruddin Shah is very easy to please when it comes to working as an actor. So, I hold this compliment and I hold that moment very close to my heart.”

Arjun further adds, “And not only that, I had Kumud Sir standing next to me. So, to have Kumud Sir, add value to that by saying yes, he also loved the film; he thoroughly enjoyed it and he thought my dialect was absolutely bang on and somebody like Kumud Mishra telling me about my dialect and Naseer Bhai telling me about my performance in a film, gave me so much of warmth and confidence stepping into Kuttey and shooting with Naseer Bhai and Kumud sir at that point.”

Kuttey is touted to be a caper that also has outstanding actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Tabu, Kumud Mishra and Radhika Madan in it. The film has been directed by debutant Aasmaan Bhardwaj, who is ace film-maker Vishal Bhardwaj’s son. It releases on Jan 13, 2023.

Farah Khan arrived as a guest in the ongoing show Bigg Boss 16 on Colors to celebrate her birthday, to give audiences a surprising break from all the tension and drama in the house. However, her arrival soon turned emotional as the reunion of the Khan siblings, made them emotional. Readers may be aware that contestant Sajid Khan is the brother of Farah Khan. The latter visited her brother as a surprise, and she was quite thrilled to meet him after so long. Along with that, the choreographer also had a special message for all the co-contestants as she extended her gratitude towards them for supporting and being there for her brother in the house.

In last night’s episode, Farah Khan made an appearance on the show. With the Khan siblings meeting each other after being away for months, situations obviously turned emotional. However, one can see in a promo shared by the official Instagram page of Colors that Farah Khan teared up after meeting her brother Sajid Khan in the house. Not just that, she also thanked his friends in the house and was seen bonding with Shiv Thakare, Abdu Rozik, and MC Stan. She further went on to add, “Main aayi thi ek bhai se milne. Ab teen lekar jaa rahi hoon. (I came to the house to meet one brother and I am taking back three). Furthermore, she also addressed the entire friends group of Khan in the house and addressed them as his ‘mandali’ for being like a family to him in the house.

Things seem to be moving at a lightning speed for Kartik Aaryan. First the stardom, then the superstardom with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. And now Kartik has turned producer with his forthcoming film Shehzada. That’s right, Kartik is one of the official producers of Shehzada.

A source very close to Kartik reveals, “It wasn’t planned or anything. It is the early days for Kartik to turn producer. He has just started his career as an actor. But then, the unexpected happened. Shehzada encountered a financial crisis and if someone did not step in at that moment, the project would have been stalled.”

This is when Kartik stepped forward to rescue the project. “Kartik offered to forego his remuneration. That’s when the other producers offered to have him on board as a producer,” informs the friend. One more leap ahead for the most rapidly rising star of Bollywood.

The film, Shehzada which is being directed by Rohit Dhawan also stars Kriti Sanon. A remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the film is being readied for release on February 10, 2023.

Bollywood couple Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are back in the bay after spending New Year in Switzerland. The couple was seen hanging out with Karisma Kapoor.

Karisma Kapoor took to her Instagram account on Sunday to share a photo with her two besties. In a photo taken in an elevator, Saif, Kareena and Karisma struck a pose. Karisma captioned the photo, "Group for life #familylove." Karisma Kapoor wore a white shirt with black pants, Kareena was donning a white T-shirt and black jeans whereas Saif wore a shirt with jeans.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen in Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. The film released on August 11, 2022, and arrived on Netflix on October 6, 2022. She also has the adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

The actress will also star in Hansal Mehta's next. With this film, the actress turns producer for the first time. The project will be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Hansal Mehta. Ekta and Kareena Kapoor Khan previously teamed up on the comedy, Veere Di Wedding in 2018.

Several reports also stated last year that Kareena Kapoor Khan has signed a project, which will also star Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The makers are yet to confirm their movie.

On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Vikram Vedha with Hrithik Roshan. He will essay the role of Lankesh in Adipurush. The film, helmed by Om Raut, will star Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh in pivotal roles. The film was supposed to release in January 2023 but now it has been postponed.

Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Aditya Chopra has cut two trailers for the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathaan - one with Salman Khan making an appearance as Tiger and other without his presence. Over the last few weeks there have been several meetings to decide if Salman should be a part of Pathaan trailer or not. And now, we can confirm that Salman Khan is not a part of the Pathaan trailer.

"Yash Raj Films has played a masterstroke. While everyone is aware that Salman is a part of Pathaan, they want the audience to visit the cinema halls to see his track in the film. They believe keeping the cameo hidden will create more hype for the film upon its release, as the audience will be taken by surprise with his appearance. He makes an entry when least expected. They don't wish to give any hints, as the idea is to create euphoria of the next level in cinema halls with his sudden big screen appearance," revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

The source further added that Salman's track is not just a blink and miss cameo but a part of a proper 15- to 20-minute-long action sequence. "Wait for it to explode on the big screen. The top superstars of Indian cinema, seen together taking on some larger-than-life baddies. It warrants a watch on the biggest possible screen," the trade source shared.

The trailer of Pathaan is said to be loaded with patriotism, dialogues, action, and scale. According to insiders, it features SRK like never before and will be the talking point among cinema lovers across the globe upon its launch tomorrow morning.

The countdown for the release of one of Hindi cinema's most awaited films to date, Pathaan, has begun. Yash Raj Films recently announced that the theatrical trailer of this spy universe film will be out on January 10. The production house also promised that the trailer will be high on action, thrill, and scale with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham. Ever since then, there has been speculation in the industry if the Iron Man of Spy Universe, Salman Khan too will be a part of the trailer.

A source from Yash Raj Films informs, "That's the suspense. Aditya Chopra is a mastermind, and he knows how to keep all the cards close to his chest. While the world is aware of Salman Khan's cameo in the film, he is in two minds - if that should be shown in the trailer or not. And hence, he had asked his production team to cut two promos of Pathaan - one with Salman Khan as Tiger and one without."

That's not all, the source told us further that Adi's idea is to inform everyone of Salman and his Spy Universe by following less is more. "The entire campaign of Pathaan is less is more. So there might be less of Bhai, but the communication will stay intact. Who knows, you will get some hints about him in the trailer if not for a full-length presence. Adi has created the best scene of the film with the two biggest superstars of Hindi cinema - Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Just wait for the film and the sequence to explode like never before," the source promised.

In 2022, the Film Federation of India (FFI) picked the Gujarati movie, Chhello Show (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for the Academy Awards 2023. The film has been shortlisted for the International Feature Film category. For the Oscars 2023 campaign, Priyanka Chopra hosted a special screening of the movie in Los Angeles and it was attended by the director Pan Nalin and lead actor Bhavin Rabari.

Sharing the pictures and the clip on social media, producer David Dubinsky wrote, “With Priyanka Chopra, actress, model, and producer (wife of Nick Jonas) at the movie screening and reception of Last Film Show, a coming of age drama of a boy from a remote village in India who discovers the joys of the movie theater just as digital projection changes the game. It is India’s submission to the Academy Awards and was just shortlisted in Best International feature film category. Available on Netflix.”

The film stars Bhavin Rabari, Vikas Bata, Richa Meena, Bhavesh Shrimali, Dipen Raval and Rahul Koli. The story is set against the backdrop of cinemas in India witnessing a massive transition from celluloid to digital, where hundreds of single-screen cinemas stand dilapidated or have disappeared altogether. The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021. It also won the Golden Spike at the 66th Valladolid International Film Festival in 2021.

So far, the last Indian movie to have made it to the top five in the Best International Feature category are Mother India (1958), Salaam Bombay (1989) and Lagaan (2001).

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will next star in the Hollywood films Love Again and Ending Things. She also has Russo Brothers’ series Citadel. She will soon begin shooting for her next Bollywood film Jee Le Zaraa. Helmed by Farhan Akhtar, the upcoming drama also stars Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

Bollywood actor Aditya Seal, who was last seen in Rocket Gang, is expecting his first child with his wife Anushka Ranjan. The couple tied the knot in November 2021 in a grand ceremony in Mumbai.

A source close to the couple told Bollywood Hungama, “The couple is currently enjoying their New Year time in Dubai. While the couple is enjoying their blissful time with their friends, they are also gearing up to enter a new phase in their lives. Both Aditya and Anushka are elated to become parents.”

Aditya Seal and Anushka Ranjan reportedly met each other during a fashion show organized by her mother Anu Ranjan's NGO. The couple dated for a while before the actor proposed to Anushka in Paris in October 2019.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aditya Seal was last seen in Rocket Gang. The film consisted an ensemble cast featuring Nikita Dutta, Jason Tham, Mokshda Jaikhani, Sahaj Singh Chahal, Tejas Varma, Aadvik Mongia, Jayshree Gogoi, Dipali Borkar and Siddhant Sharma. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, whose Cirkus is currently running in theatres, is back on the sets of the Indian Police Force. Marking his web series debut as a director, the Prime Video series will be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra. While shooting an action sequence, the actor suffered an injury and was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad. But the filmmaker took to Instagram to inform his followers that he is doing well and is back on the set.

Rohit Shetty shared a photo with Sidharth Malhotra and Indian Police Force crew from Hyderabad. He has a white bandage on his hand and a sling. He wrote, “Another car topple... but this time with stitches on 2 fingers.... Nothing to worry about, I am absolutely fine... thank you so much for your love and concern...Shooting Indian Police force for Amazon Originals in Hyderabad @primevideoin #indianpoliceforce.”

Sidharth Malhotra shared a video asking Shetty how he was doing, “We have the OG action master here who is back on set after an unfortunate incident.” Rohit returned to the sets in less than 12 hours since the time he got injured. The actor shared the video and wrote, “A true master leads by example. We all know about @itsrohitshetty Sir’s love for action and his passion towards the stunts he directs. Last night while performing a CAR STUNT action piece HIMSELF, he met with an unfortunate accident. After a sleepless night and a minor surgery he’s back on set in less than 12 hours ????. Sir, you are an inspiration to all of us.???? Love n Respect.”

The shoot of the series is happening in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Following several reports, Rohit Shetty's spokesperson released an official statement that read, “Rohit Shetty has got some minor injury on his fingers while executing an action sequence for his upcoming web series Indian Police Force last night. The injury was immediately treated. And, he resumed his shooting shortly after the incident.”

According to sources, as previously reported by Bollywood Hungama, a huge set has been erected at the iconic Ramoji Film City for the shoot. But that’s not all. This particular schedule is so vital that the makers will be spending as much as Rs. 20 crores on it. As per Shetty’s specialization, there will be car chase sequences too, along with other high-octane action and stunt scenes.

Indian Police Force is the web series debut for both Rohit Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra. The show also stars Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty in pivotal roles. It will premiere on Prime Video India but no date is confirmed yet.

Over the years, Karan Johar has spoken about how movie budgets are distributed amongst several parties. The filmmaker and producer appeared on the Masters’ Union podcast, discussing how the budget is divided among the actors, producers, directors, and theatre owners.

Karan Johar said, “Unfortunately, the pie of it is with the movie stars, which should not be the case. It’s not that every movie star can open a film at every given point in time. But you are paying them top dollar. If it’s a big director then the divide is: 50 to the star and 30 to the director, a little more to the writer, and the producer is the last person to make the money.”

Johar also said that today's stars won’t enjoy the same kind of stardom that stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan among others enjoy. He said, “Any of our new generation of movie stars can’t have the aura and magic of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Mr Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan; they were the last of the Mohicans.” He continued, “See fame and superstardom are two different things. You can be a YouTuber and be famous. But are you a superstar? Will people stop and stand in a line just because of you? That ain’t happening anymore.”

Elaborating on the distribution of the profits, Karan revealed, “In the superstars’ economics, 60-70% goes to the star. In the non-superstar economics, maybe 20, 30 and then divided by… if the director is big, then the writer, then technicians and then it gets divided equally after that.”

“It is harder to negotiate with the actors than with the distributors. Because there we are combating delusions. Delusion is one disease which has no vaccination. I can’t tell people the truth that you opened to this, this, this in the last four films, now why are you asking me for this? You ask me what you opened to. You are opening to Rs 5 crores, I should give you Rs. 5 crores,” added Karan.

He added about the delusional bit saying, “You don’t want to hurt or upset somebody, because eventually, they are stars, they come with fragile egos, they come with their management which is sometimes the bigger stars. I have a management agency of my own and I keep telling them, ‘Please, you must work for the producer and must not work for the actor.’ It’s not an unpragmatic producer, it’s someone who is giving you data and analysis, at least listen to him.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release in theatres in April this year. It stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.

In the last decade or so, Rajkummar Ro has emerged as one of the most talented actors to from Bollywood. After getting noticed in his debut Love Sex Aur Dhokha and later in Ragini MMS, he delivered a box office hit in the form of Stree. However, his last few theatrical releases haven’t done well at the ticket window.

It seems like Rajkummar has taken note of this. In an interview with Free Press Journal, the actor said that he has now decided to not do films just for friendship. “Sometimes you get emotional as they are friends and you agree to do a film for them,” he said. “But now I have decided not to do this anymore. When I am not there wholeheartedly in a project and I don’t believe in it, I feel that is not good for me and even for the film.”

Rajkummar added that it’s not easy to put in your heart and soul in a film you don’t believe in. “It’s tough and challenging and you have to put in your hundred per cent,” he said. “Because somebody is producing and putting in money into the film, there are so many others who are working hard to make that film and nobody wants to make a bad film. Everyone is trying to make a good film. So you try to contribute your best too but there are days when you realise that this can misfire. I don’t have many friends who are producers and directors.”

Rao was last seen in the Netflix film Monica, O My Darling. Directed by Vasan Bala and also starring Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte, the movie and Rajkummar’s work were well received.
