Netflix on Tuesday announced the release date of its upcoming psychological drama, Qala will premiere on 1st December 2022. Set in the late 1930s and early 1940s, Qala is the story of an eponymous young playback singer. The film is about Qala’s tragic past and the ways in which it catches up with her, causing her to unravel at the peak of her hard-won success. But the beginning and end of her spiral is her relationship with her mother. The pathology of her upbringing and the neurosis it leads to. Witness the emotional journey of Qala who navigates professional successes while battling personal demons.

Director Anvitaa Dutt shares, “Qala is a story about mothers and daughters. And how a troubled upbringing can damage someone and have far-reaching consequences. Karnesh and I both felt it was an important story to tell. We set it in the world of music in the late 1930s; a setting both evocative and poignant. It has been an exciting and rewarding journey to bring this story to life with Netflix as our partners. This is my second outing with them and it has been twice as much fun to create a homegrown story for audiences worldwide.”

Producer Karnesh Ssharma says, “We are delighted to be working along with Netflix and Anvitaa once again. At Clean Slate Filmz we aim to create distinct stories and Qala is one such film. Audiences across the world will be able to relate to it due to universal themes like family relationships and mental health. A service like Netflix allows for audiences globally to find diverse stories from India and we are hoping the film and the music are something they hold on to even after watching it on December 1st.”

Anvitaa Dutt’s directorial return to Netflix stars Triptii Dimri, Babil Khan, Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, Neer Raao, Avinash Raj Sharma and Ashish Singh in the lead roles. The film is produced by Karnesh Ssharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz.

A few days after breaking the internet with his shirtless photo, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is again grabbing the attention of his fans. For the unversed, Khurrana shared a photo on Friday, in which he was seen shirtless. In the caption, he dropped a hint about his “return”, and it seems he is finally returning to a set for the shooting of his next project, titled An Action Hero.

On Sunday late at night, Ayush took to his official social media handle and shared a photo, which features a camera focusing on him. He looked dapper in an all-black avatar. Interestingly, he is facing a camera trolley in the shot. Giving the context of the photo to his 16.8M followers on Instagram, he wrote, “Wait for it. Just wait for it. / Lights. Camera. Action!”. He also hashtagged “December” and “Action”. To conclude his write-up, he added, “Saari raat main laayiyaan”.

Coming to his work front, the 31-year-old actor is gearing up for his multiple upcoming releases. As mentioned above, he is currently shooting for Satyaprem Ki Katha, co-starring Kiara Advani. In the wake of the tragedy in Itaewon in South Korea on Saturday which left hundreds of people dead, Netflix has decided to postpone their upcoming Korean drama The Fabulous starring Minho from popular K-pop group SHINee and actress Chae Soo Bin. The press conference was to take place this week followed by the premiere on November 4, 2022.

Swoon Netflix account on Monday shared an official statement on Instagram and wrote, “As national mourning is taking place due to the tragic accident in Korea, we have decided to postpone the press conference and the release of <The Fabulous>.”

For the unversed, Halloween celebrations turned deadly in South Korea’s Itaewon. It was reported that a crowd crush led to the death of 154 people, of whom 26 were foreign nationals and 132 were injured as per updates on Sunday, according to Korea Herald. An estimate of 100,000 people was expected to be in attendance on Saturday night in Itaewon, a district in central Seoul. In the narrow alley, around 10:40 pm, the crowd began to surge leaving people stuck there for over one and a half hours. This led to suffocation in the tight space. Videos and photos went viral on social media in which people and first responders were giving CPR on the spot to people who were unresponsive and went into cardiac arrest. The majority of the fatalities were people in their 20s.

Coming back to The Fabulous, the upcoming series follows four best friends as they chase their dreams alongside fashion’s elite while juggling demanding jobs, romantic dilemmas and wild nights on the town. In the series, Minho plays Ji Woo Min, a freelance photo editor established in his profession and known for his attractive appearance. However, he struggles with finding passion for his work. Things change when he encounters Pyo Ji Eun (played by Chae Soo Bin), a PR manager for luxury brands, and the two find themselves in a blossoming romance. The first look photos were unveiled in September.

Meanwhile, Chae Soo Bin was most recently seen in Disney+ series Rookie Cops. The series marked the debut of singer Kang Daniel as the lead actor.  She is currently seen in a variety show Young Actors’ Retreat. On the other hand, Choi Minho was last seen in Lovestruck In The City and Yumi’s Cells season 1.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is returning to India after three years. Following the pandemic and the lockdown, the actress couldn’t travel to her home country. She has been in her Los Angeles home for the past couple of years where she lives with her husband Nick Jonas. Earlier this year, they welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Malti Marie Chopra, through surrogacy due to which she waited for a couple of months to be back in India. After celebrating Diwali last week in LA, she is all set to be back in Mumbai. This will be the first time she will be in the city with her child.

Sharing the photo of her boarding pass, Priyanka wrote, “Finally…going home. After almost 3 years.”

Priyanka Chopra was expected to come to India in April. The actress, in an interview with Travel+Leisure magazine, had said, “My brain has been taking vacations every night, but I am dying to go back to India. Every state in India has its own written and spoken language, which means different alphabets, clothing, attire, foods, and holidays. So it's like going to a new country every time you cross the border in India. Every time I go back home, I make sure I take time to do a bit of a holiday and travel.”

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra has Ending Things with Anthony Mackie and It's All Coming Back To Me with Celine Dion. Post the release of the Vishnuvardhan directorial Shershaah, the lead pair Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani made headlines for their chemistry both on-screen and off it too. In fact, with the audience taking an immense liking to the film, filmmakers made a beeline to sign the two on for new ventures. One such venture was the quirky film tentatively titled Adal Badal, which revolved around the concept of soul transfers. In fact, both Sid and Kiara had read the concept note and were pretty kicked to start the project. However, now we hear that the said film has run into trouble.

As per a source close to the developments, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that the project has now been put on the back burner. Revealing details, the source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were very keen on doing the film. In fact, the quirky premise of Adal Badal intrigued them both, and they even gave the makers a green light to go ahead with the development of a script for the venture. Unfortunately, even before the venture could take off it seems to have been grounded with no takers for the film.” Further talking about why Adal Badal has been put on the back burner for now, the source continues, “No one in the industry is ready to bankroll the venture. It isn’t because of the lead pair, but instead, it is due to the rather unconventional storyline. Despite its quirkiness and novelty, in the current state, the industry is in, nobody wants to take a gamble and risk big monies on an untested formula.”

With no investors ready to take a gamble on producing the venture, it seems like the venture will eventually be dropped. Interestingly though, for fans who have been wanting to see the two together on screen again, the buzz is that Sid and Kiara will soon move onto the Dharma Productions venture that will topline them in the cast. In fact, reports claim that the two are contemplating starting work on this untitled venture rather soon.

As for Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, both actors have an impressive lineup ahead. While Sidharth has Yodha and Mission Majnu, Kiara has Govinda Naam Mera, RC15, and the Kartik Aaryan starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha.

In the wake of the tragedy in Itaewon in South Korea on Saturday, the popular entertainment agency SM Entertainment, which houses K-pop groups like NCT, Red Velvet, aespa, Super Junior, EXO, SHINee among others, has cancelled their annual Halloween celebrations. For the unversed, Itaewon, one of the popular destinations in South Korea, witnessed thousands of people during Halloween celebrations which led to one of the most horrific incidents.

In a statement on late Saturday night following the tragic incident of crowd surge in Itaewon, SM Entertainment released a statement which read, “We are informing you that the live broadcast of the “SMTOWN WONDERLAND 2022” red carpet, which was scheduled to be streamed live for free today for KWANGYA CLUB ACE members on the global platform Beyond LIVE for approximately one hour starting from 6:15 p.m., has been cancelled. Because the “SMTOWN WONDERLAND 2022” event itself has been cancelled, there will be no livestream of the red carpet either. We ask for fans’ understanding.”

President Yoon Suk Yeol has officially announced the mourning period from October 30 – November 4 amid the Itaewon case. As per a report in Korea Herald, atleast 151 people died and more than 82 were injured in a “crowd crush in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, central Seoul, according to fire authorities at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The fire department began to receive reports of patients having difficulty breathing at 10:22 p.m. on Saturday.”

It was reported that most fatalities were people in their 20s amongst whom 19 were foreigners who were dead. Videos and photos went viral on social media where people were providing CPR to several people who went into cardiac arrest due to crowd-crushing in Itaewon which is a central party spot. The report states, “A total of 848 personnel, including 364 firefighters, were mobilized to deal with the accident and 142 ambulances were deployed.”

After becoming a blockbuster in cinemas, Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles is set to arrive on Disney+ Hotstar The digital premiere of Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva will be available to the viewers in their preferred language from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Releasing on November 4, 2022, on the platform, the magnum opus is produced by Star Studios & Dharma Productions, and directed and written by Ayan Mukerji.

The film saw special appearances by the biggest names including Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna, and Dimple Kapadia. Expressing gratitude to them, Ayan spoke to ANI and said, “Brahmastra was an ambitious project from the start. And I felt that each of these characters represented something very unique. In a way, they represent little worlds in the larger world of Brahmastra. And that required certain gravitas and weight. Which led us to approach some of the best actors and talent in the country. We were very lucky that everyone accepted and supported this ambition. I am truly grateful to them for all their support. And for saying yes…”

Sharing how the characters are deep-rooted in India’s rich culture and are representative of it, Ayan Mukherji said, “Brahmastra is a grand celebration of our rich and unique Indian culture. Our film is inspired by our history, our vast heritage, and the stories we all have grown up with. It was important to me that Brahmastra ends up being a film every Indian can be proud of.”

Elaborating on how the film marks a new phase of Indian Cinema, he said, “Brahmāstra is the first film of our own original new universe. An entertaining, larger-than-life story based on our rich, grand culture, told with cutting-edge technology. It is a cinematic experience that I am very excited to bring into people’s homes so that families can watch it again or for the first time.”

In one of the latest developments, Henry Cavill is saying goodbye to the beloved character Geralt Of Rivia in The Witcher season 4. Ahead of the season 3 arrival next year, Cavill took to Instagram on Saturday to inform his fans that he will officially be ‘laying down my medallion and my swords’ and departing the fantasy series, on Netflix. Season 4 will see Liam Hemsworth take on the role of monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia instead.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures," Cavill wrote in his post. "In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.”

One can realise the efforts went into composing the song and the negativity we dealt with when a section of people reacted to the song, but today the same people are in admiration. Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a photo from th hospital and wrote, "Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery.

I love you.. THIS TOO SHALL PASS."

Upon hearing the news, several celebrities wished her speedy recovery. "Get well soon Sam. Sending you all the strength," wrote Jr NTR on Twitter, who has shared the screen space with Samantha in films  including Brindavanam and Jantha Garage.

Dulquer Salmaan, who teams up with Samantha in the upcoming Malayalam action thriller King Of Kotha, also said,  "More power to you Sam! LIke you said, This too shall pass."

Shriya Saran commented on her Manam co-star's Instagram post, "Love and light to you, you are amazing always."

Akkineni Akhil, actor and brother or Samantha's ex-husband Naga Chaitanya wrote, "All the love and strength to you dear Sam."

Kajal Aggarwal commented, "Speedy recoveries Sam… You’re going to bounce back much stronger!"

On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will star in her upcoming multilingual film, Yashoda. Directed by Hari and Harish, the film is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Movies and is set to release on November 11, 2022.

Though actress-model Divya Agarwal lifted the trophy of Bigg Boss OTT, contestant Uorfi Javed managed to make a name for herself. Uorfi, her bold outfits, and strong personality have always managed to keep her in the headlines. From petals to razors, she has used numerous objects to make a creative outfit. However, sometimes slaying in them becomes uncomfortable for Javed, and she admitted it in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama.

When we asked Javed if she ever felt uncomfortable in her outfit, the model said, “sometimes” without any hesitation to admit it. Explaining her take further, she added, “Aise jhuth toh nahi bolungi, lekin kabhi kabhi (I won’t lie. I do get uncomfortable sometimes). But I am very comfortable in my body. I have no shame, to be very honest.”

As she continued, she mentioned, “Mujhe itni koi sharam nahi aati kisi cheez se. Agar kabhi kuch wardrobe malfunction bhi ho gaya toh mujey gha**a farak nahi padta. Tumney sabne toh dekh hi hua hai. Aisa kuch naya to dikh nahi jaega (I don’t feel shy. Even if I experience some wardrobe malfunction, I will not be bothered. You all have seen it, there is nothing new).”

Interestingly, we also asked her to describe actor Ranveer Singh’s fashion sense in one word. In response to this, she said, “I think I am female Ranveer Singh and he is male Uorfi Javed.”

Coming to her professional front, the 25-year-old actor-model was recently seen in a music video, titled ‘Haye Haye Yeh Majboori’.

Having spun magic on the box office with his last film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan seems to be in a ‘transformative’ mood. For his ready-for-release eerie film Freddy directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Kartik had to gain considerable weight to give a ‘weighty’ performance as a dentist on a rampage.

A well-informed source reveals, “Freddy is Kartik Aaryan’s most challenging role to date. He plays a dark eerie twisted character which will shock audiences.” Kartik’s character is apparently as grey as Shah Rukh’s Baazigar and Darr.

Since Kartik had to play a character older than his actual age, Kartik insisted on bulking himself up.

“The director suggested prosthetics. But Kartik wanted no artificiality in his acting ambit on this occasion. Freddy is as raw and real as it can get. And Kartik wanted the character to look as determinedly authentic as possible,” says the source.

Was it tough for Kartik to put on the kilos? “Not at all. He only had to tuck into his mother’s cooking for a few weeks to bulk up,” says the source.

For the first time, Ishaan Khatter, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Katrina Kaif are coming together for a horror comedy called Phone Bhoot. Needless to say, they are all playing some unique and unconventional roles. During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actors were seen confessing about how and when they were exposed to horror movies as a genre, during which Ishaan had an interesting confession to make.

In the Rapid Fire session with Bollywood Hungama, the candid Ishaan Khatter revealed about how he was exposed to these films as a child. When Ishaan Khatter was asked about which film scared him as a child, the actor mentioned, “The Exorcist”. While a surprised Katrina Kaif interrupted asking about how he was exposed to such a movie as a kid, Siddhant Chaturvedi confessed that he hasn’t watched the movie to date. Khatter continued, “Child as in, I was about 10 or 11 years old.” Ishaan we on to add, “I saw Being Cyrus when I was like 12 or 13 years old.” His answer pleasantly surprised the rest of the cast.

The Exorcist, which was released in 1973, is considered to be one of the most iconic and scary films in the horror genre, starring Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, and Lee J. Cobb among others and it is directed by William Friedkin.

Coming to Phone Bhoot, the film also stars Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role and is directed by Gurmmeet Singh. The recently released trailer indicated that Ishaan and Siddhant play the role of ghostbusters, who with the help of the ghost Katrina Kaif, help souls achieve salvation and peace. The film, produced under the banner Excel Entertainment of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, will release on November 4, 2022.

Keeping up their constant spree of promotion, the cast of Phone Bhoot the world's most beautiful ghost, Ragini aka Katrina Kaif, the two clueless ghostbusters Gullu aka Ishaan, and Major aka Siddhant Chaturvedi recently made their appearance on Bigg Boss 16. As the cast went on the show, they were seen having fun with the host, superstar Salman Khan.

While on the stage the host, Salman Khan, and Katrina Kaif was seen grooving together on 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani' song while on the other hand Ishaan and Siddhant shook their legs with Salman on the song 'Kaali Teri Gutt' from their film. the cast also played fun horror games with Salman Khan on the stage. This has certainly hyped the audience's excitement to witness the crazy horrible and hilarious adventure of this trio in the theatres.

In the new promo, Katrina asks Salman if he was to become a ghost, who would he like to spy on? The Tiger 3 actor was quick to respond saying "Vicky Kaushal" who is an actor and Katrina Kaif's husband. The two stars got married in December 2021. When asked why, Salman said, "Loving hai, caring hai, ya daring hai. Uske baare mein baat karta hoon toh aap blushing hai (He is loving, caring or daring. When I talk about him, you blush)."

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath, Phone Bhoot is produced by Excel Entertainment, headed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film is all set to be released on 4th November 2022.

The Bhediya mania has begun! Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan’s creature comedy has been the talk of the town ever since its thrilling trailer, and now, the makers released the first song 'Thumkeshwari' on Friday.

While interacting with the media, Varun Dhawan said that his aim in life was to do 'paisa-vasool' films. “My only aim in life, after I became an actor, is that the public should enjoy it. I don’t want to give ‘gyan’, I just want the audience to enjoy it and that they feel my work is ‘paisa vasool’. This film is total paisa vasool and Amar has done top-class VFX, he’s put in a lot of effort in this one. We will not disappoint you, you’ll be proud of us, and we’ll bring the public back to the theatres with this one,” he said.

Speaking about the single-screen audience and the mass appeal, the actor added, “I was dying for this. We spent two in the lockdown, at home. My film Coolie No. 1 released during that time. I remember how I was praying that we could release it in Gaiety Galaxy, but we couldn’t. I was craving to hear this (fans’ roaring reaction). This theatre plays a significant role in my life. This is where I learnt how to whistle and have fun while watching a film. Thank you for this kind of reception.”
